51. Nightmare Unimon

-chapter 51-

In theory, adding a magical shower to the back of our bus technically meant that the bus now had an infinite source of fuel. Unfortunately we later discovered that this turned out to not work at all, even in the digital world, as, for whatever reason, it was impossible for water created by the shower to leave the shower. You could even point the nozzle directly at the exit, and it would simply cease to exist the second it reached the threshold, or if it went down the drain in the normal manner. In fact everything that went down the drain disappeared completely. This quirk meant that you could dry off instantly just by leaving the shower, weird, but extremely handy, unless you dropped something important down the drain.

Anyway, after some bad sex and ok sleep, eventually the next day came, and it was generally agreed this would be the day we would continue our journey west, further into Indramon's territory, and so, once everyone but Kitty was awake, we headed on our way.

Zari drove, IceLeomon sat quietly in one of the normally empty seats on the bus, looking utterly depressed. We never even knew he saw the battle yesterday.

"Well we still got around 6 terrabytes of data." I said. "Do you think we should spend it on stuff or just give it to our digimon?"

"MM, then maybe we could play with Lilithmon." Phoebe said as Saphira rolled her eyes.

"Actually I'm kind of curious what Saphira will digivolve to." I said.

"Strike that, I'm curious if this gun can be used as a weapon. You know just kind of, suck the data directly out of the enemy digimon." I said.

"It doesn't work that way." Saphira said. "A verbal agreement has to be made or it won't take any data at all."

"Really?" I asked.

"Mhm." Saphira said.

"What about when we were taking it and giving it to IceLeomon earlier?" I asked.

"Well that worked because you were just taking back what data you originally gave him." Saphira said.

"Ok." I replied.

"It can also tell if you're trying to inject your own data into yourself, if you were a digimon anyway." Saphira explained.

"More physics defying nonsense." I said.

"Yep." Saphira replied.

"So if we gave you each 3 terrabytes of data." I began to say."

"Hey I want some too!" IceLeomon spoke up. "Anything to get me out of this form."

He was still a Pandamon, but he still insisted on being referred to as IceLeomon.

"Ok so 2 terrabytes to each of you." I said.

"You might as well, you can get it back later if you really need the money." Saphira said.

"True." Phoebe agreed.

"Allright then." I said.

"Does that constitute a verbal agreement?" I asked.

"You don't need one to give data." Saphira replied.

"Oh, ok." I replied.

I distributed the remaining xp, eh I mean data amongst our three digimon.

"What gives no digivolving?" I asked. "Kitty I thought you were pretty close."

"We need more than just data to digivolve." Saphira replied. "At least to start out with."

"Well what do you need then?" I asked.

"Experience." Saphira replied.
"I thought data was experience?" I replied.

"No, it doesn't work like that." Saphira said.

"So that means you've been working towards digivolution all this time, even before we were taking our enemies data?" I asked.

"Yeah sort of." Saphira replied. "But you two play a huge part in whether we can digivolve too."

"Some sort of emotional thing right?" I asked.

"Yeah, sort of." Saphira replied.

"Well then you should be fine because Phoebe is extremely emotional."

"Hey." Phoebe scolded.

"What, you are." I said.

"Yeah but she does most of the fighting between us." Saphira said. "She keeps hogging most of my experience."

"Well I can do more damage than you can." Phoebe pointed out. "It's ok sweety, I don't think Ophanimon took my own abilities into account."

"That doesn't help her case much." I said.

"What do you mean?" Phoebe asked.

"I mean a lot of these battles we'd be absolutely screwed without you, and if she didn't account for your abilities, that means our little quest was basically intended to be even more suicidaly difficult than it already is." I explained.

"Well Cj, I don't think she accounted for most of what has occurred so far." Phoebe replied.

"Hey that's our goddess you're talking about." Kitty objected.

"Well they're not wrong." Saphira replied. "It's true, things have gone really wrong."

"Are we really going to go after Indramon next?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah, if we can find him. I guess we're already heading that way. " I replied. "You ready for your revenge?"

"It took you long enough." Kitty replied.

"Well, we aren't there yet." I said.

Another day, another long boring bus ride. Couldn't even do anything sexy cause IceLeomon was riding with us, he didn't really want to be a part of the group either, he just kind of sat in his seat and stared off into space. Both Phoebe and Zari (while I was driving) tried in vain to start a conversation with him, but he was too depressed to reciprocate.

Eventually after about 3 solid days of driving, we stopped to rest because we all needed something to break the monotony before it drove us crazy. Outside the ground was getting pretty sandy, and it seemed to be at least 80 degrees out with nothing but vast, open desert landscape on all sides and the occasional bush or ridiculously tall cactus. IceLeomon stopped complaining about the heat, perhaps one of the advantages of his new form, though that didn't make him any happier. Another couple days passed and we came across a large, empty village, which a railway passed through heading to the north. We couldn't be certain it was the same one we followed into the desert, but it wasn't impossible.

"I think I remember this place." Kitty said.

"I do to." Saphira said. "I think I passed through here to get to the hotel."

"I don't remember you being there." Kitty said.

"We must have done it at different times." Saphira replied. "But I know I've been here before, back when it was, alive."

"Where do the tracks go?" I asked.

"Southwest for a few hundred miles then south. " Saphira replied. " I think there's 5 stations before it reaches an end a Oceanside settlement. I guess I should warn you my train was attacked between this station and the last."

"Yeah we were on different trains, mine was never attacked." Kitty said.

"Yeah well you got to the hotel before me, so you must have left earlier." Saphira replied.

"So should we go back to following the tracks or?" I began to say.

"NO INDRAMON'S FORT IS SOMEWHERE OVER THAT WAY!" Kitty loudly protested.

"Don't yell at my husband!" Phoebe scolded.

"She just really wants Indramon dead." I said.

"That overgrown donkeymon killed my friends." Kitty said.

"Is there really a donkeymon?" Henry asked.

"I have no idea, but what else would it be called? Assmon?" I jokingly suggested.

"Buttmon." Phoebe suggested.

"That's not the joke Pheebles." I replied.

"Sorry." Phoebe said.

"So indramon has a fort?" I asked.

"Yes and it's really tall and scary looking." Kitty replied. "That's where he lives and where he continues to train and assemble his evil army.

"You could have said this earlier." I said.

"I didn't know we were seriously going after him yet." Kitty defended.

"Do you know how to get there from here?" I asked.

"No." Kitty replied. "I just know it's over that way, somewhere."

"Have you seen it before?" I asked.

"Yes." Kitty said.

"Well, maybe our best shot is to back track, head to the station you caught your train at." I said.

"No, because that's the wrong way." Kitty said.

"Well you had to go to his fortress once to see it, and you don't know how to get to it from here, so maybe, somewhere down the line, you'll know how to get there. Once we start getting back to your "home" so to speak." I explained.

"Sounds reasonable to me." Phoebe agreed.

"I don't really care where we go as long as we end up somewhere." Henry said.

"Same, I'm bored with this world." Claire said.

"At least we know those tracks will probably lead somewhere, if we just head in that direction we might not find a single thing for days." Zari said.

"IceLeomon care to add anything?" I asked.

He didn't say anything, he just stared at me angrily for about 5 seconds.

"Ok, then we're following the tracks." I said, much to Kitty's dismay.

"But first let's take some time to explore this place. We've been riding around in our vehicles for so long, it'd be nice to just go on a walk." Phoebe said.

"Yeah allright, we'll take a little break here." I agreed.

Everybody eventually left the bus except for Phoebe and I.

While the rest of our group was busy exploring the village in search of things that might be useful, Phoebe and I stayed on our bus and made it rock. We hadn't done so in more than 3 days and because nobody was around, we could do it most of the afternoon with impunity. It was a fun day, but eventually our group returned and our clothes had to go back on.

We started following this new track south the next day. It led to a series of dead villages, with a combination of ramshackle and well-constructed western colonial style houses and shops, basically primitive wooden buildings that looked like they belonged in the 1800s. Except here you would never see any of the iconic churches, brothels, or saloons associated with that time just houses and shops, and occasionally restaurants, as the digimon had no understand of those things. Following the tracks also kept us on firm ground, as opposed to any of the various deep sand patches our vehicles were ill-equipped for. We kept following it until we arrived at a certain village Kitty seemed to be incredibly familiar with. During this time, we hadn't come across one single trailmon. So the rail line didn't seem to be in operation.

"This is it, this is where I got on the train." She said as we explored the station.

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yes." Kitty replied.

"Ok well do you know how to get to Indramon's place from here?" I asked.

"No." Kitty said.

"Ok then how did you get here?" I asked.

"I'll lead the way." She said.

"This should be interesting." Phoebe said with a hint of sarcasm.

So we stumbled through the empty village, until we got to what seemed to be some sort of pathway on the other side. This prompted us to head back to the station, grab our vehicles, and drive them around the entire village until we got back to that path. Then Kitty started riding with Henry and Claire for a bit as she gave them directions and we followed behind with our bus. Another ten minutes of traveling and we found ourselves under attack by a small group of unimon, or at least it seemed that way. In reality they fired their energy shots a few times and then quickly flew away before we could even get out of our vehicles and retaliate. So we sicked the mechanorimon on them, the mechanorimon simply couldn't fly as fast as them and they very quickly got away. All in all the few shots they fired really didn't do much in the way to stop us. However, it wasn't them we were worried about, it was who they were running to.

"Well that didn't last long." Phoebe said.

"They're going for reinforcements, that's the only thing that makes sense." I said. "We're screwed, they know where we are."

"Yeah, but Cj we have guns now." Phoebe said.

"Eh that might help a little bit, but we don't know how many enemies they're going to come back with. " I replied as the mechanorimon regrouped around our vehicles.

"We should hide." Zari said.

"How? There's nowhere to hide out here." I replied.

"Well let's go back to the town and wait for them." Zari suggested. "There will be more places to hide there."

"Yeah, you're right." I agreed. "Pheebles tell Henry and Claire we're heading back to the town."

"Ok." Phoebe said as she teleported out of the bus to inform them.

We turned around and headed back to the town as planned. Then we left our vehicles, distributed the weapons, and looked for vantage points we could secure in the buildings, knowing that a large enemy force would likely be coming for us soon. The mechanorimon were also split up and distributed around the city, each one in sight of at least one of us. And we waited, and waited, and waited.

"Cj." Phoebe said after apparently teleporting in behind me.

"Pheebles, you know it would be better if we were more spread out." I said.

"I know, but I've been staring over the side of a building for over 20 minutes, I'm bored." She replied. "And then I realized, we're alone, nobody can see us up here."

"It's also extremely hot out." I added.

"Yeah, well, we'll just have to make it hotter." She replied.

"Ok, but we'll have to make this quick." I said as I pulled her close and kissed her.

Ten minutes of ok sex later and we were back to waiting, Phoebe stayed with me and started a conversation to attempt to pass the time.

"I hope we find Indramon soon, this desert is so boring." She said.

"I'm right with ya." I replied. "Hopefully Kitty actually knows where she's leading us."

"I can't read her mind, but I doubt it." Phoebe said with no faith in Kitty whatsoever. "We'll probably end up in the middle of nowhere."

"Probably, but it's our best shot right now." I explained.

"Yeah, I guess so." Phoebe replied.

"You know you should probably get back to your post." I said.

"Well nobody else is going to make sure you don't get hurt." She replied.

"You're the one that got hurt the last few times." I said.

"They got lucky." She replied. "And besides, that means that now you need to make sure I don't get hurt."

"Well if they really did just get lucky why do I have to do that?" I asked.

"Because you love me." She replied.

"Of course I love you baby girl, but we also need to be responsible." I said. "You're the lookout, you need to actually be looking out."

"Can't you come with me? I'll let you play with my feet. Please? When they get here I can take you somewhere else." She said.

"Oh, ok baby girl, As long as you do your job." I replied, knowing she wasn't going to let it go.

"Of course I will. And we'll have more fun too, whenever you're ready again." She said as she pulled me into a kiss while she teleported us to a few different buildings until we got to the roof of one that was on the very edge of the town, the same side the path was leading out of. She was absolutely right, it wasn't the most exciting of jobs, then again, this wasn't the most exciting of days. At least I got to spend a lot of time alone with her. Something we hadn't been able to do recently. We were on that roof until the sun was about ready to set, and the massive army of centaurumon we were expecting still hadn't shown up.

"Well Cj it's getting late and they're still not here. Where's my shoes and underwear?" Phoebe said as she stood up half naked.

"Um, here you go." I said as I gathered up her things and handed them over.

"Good, let's go find the others. It would be silly to stay up here all night. " She said as she started to redress herself.

"Yeah, but what if they're planning to attack at night?" I asked.

"It wouldn't matter that much, I couldn't see them very well anyway. Let's go find the others, everything will be fine I promise." She replied before pulling me close and kissing me.

"Thank you for coming with me and keeping me company, and all the other stuff we did today." She said with a wink.

"Anytime baby girl." I replied.

"I love you so much. I can't even teleport right now." She said.

"Hehe, really? Well, just get to it when you can." I said.

"Will do." She happily replied.

Eventually we teleported off of the roof, then we found where our friends were hiding with the use of her powers. Except for our digimon, they were a bit more of a challenge. IceLeomon tended to hang around Zari though, either that or the other way around, so he was pretty easy to find. After we located the rest of our group we figured the digibabes would be hiding in the unguarded parts of the town, and we were right. We didn't actually regroup, we just got tabs on where everybody was, because if we were attacked at night it would make more sense to remain split up and spread out around the town so they couldn't encircle us all at once. This way there was multiple kill boxes.

The sun was minutes away from setting when the group of unimon we encountered earlier appeared on the horizon. The stayed high in the air where we couldn't easily hit them, flew around the town a few times, and quickly flew away.

"What was the point of that, they didn't even attack." Phoebe said after they started to fly away, once again the mechanorimon were having a hard time keeping up with them.

"Probably reconnaissance, we shouldn't have tried to attack them, they were probably just checking to see if we were here." I said as darkness began to envelope the land. "We fucked up we should have just stayed hidden."

"Wouldn't they have just seen our bus anyway?" Phoebe asked.

"Oh, crap, right." I agreed. "Anyway when they come back they're going to mean business."

"Yep." Phoebe replied. "Just remember, don't get hurt."

"You know it's not like I set out to do so." I said.

"I know, but still." She replied.

We heard them coming long before we saw them. The sound of thousands of hooves hitting hard, compacted sand did more than signal their arrival. They quickly surrounded the town and began to close in on all sides.

If we stayed on open land we would have been screwed, but their numbers and the many buildings of the town served as a sort of bottleneck. It didn't help that they were quite large-bodied digimon and like the mechanorimon in the forest, suffered a lot in tight spaces, they were strong, even in close quarters, but they couldn't defend their sides very well. There were many unimon involved as well, but once again, because of the buildings, it was difficult for them to line up shots. There was a very limited amount of light coming from what was probably a fake moon, though there was no way to tell for sure. It was a mind numbing, repetitive slog made worse by a lack of sleep, but somehow we all survived.

By morning they were defeated without any difficulties, and by morning we were all exhausted. Except for IceLeomon, who decided to not take part in the battle at all and spent the night in an empty wardrobe inside one of the buildings. HC and Z had some very choice words for him.

I woke up in an alleyway somewhere at some point in that morning, not hurt, just tired.

"Is it over, did we win?" I asked nobody in particular as I picked up the sword, which I found laying on the ground nearby. I discovered my arms were really stiff and sore, but I was getting used to that by now. I found Kitty on her knees across the street, looking over Phoebe who apparently fell asleep as well, or at least I was hoping that's what happened.

"First Cj and now you too? This is terrible, just wait until Saphira finds out." Kitty said, sounding very upset.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"CJ YOU'RE ALIVE!" Kitty exclaimed as she quickly turned around and hugged me, perhaps a bit too tight.

"Yeah, ok, that's enough." I said as I struggled to breath.

"Phoebe didn't make it." Kitty said as she let me go.

"Oh really? Then why is she still breathing?" I asked as Phoebe cracked her eyes open for a brief moment.

"She is?" Kitty asked.

"You know what we need to do? We need to tickle her, that will tell us if she's alive or not." I said once I realized Phoebe was playing some sort of dumb joke that could only ever work on Kitty.

"How?" Kitty asked.

"Well that's easy, you see she's really sensitive behind her ears." I said.

"Oh look I'm awake." Phoebe announced before I even touched her.

"You're alive too!" Kitty said.

"Yeah, that comes with the territory. Goodmorning baby girl." I said.

"Goodmorning." She replied.

"Trying to play a joke on Kitty?" I asked.

"Yes, I couldn't help it I heard her freaking out about you a few minutes ago." She said.

"I thought you were both dead." Kitty said.

"We were just asleep you dummy, after fighting all night. I'm surprised you're awake." Phoebe explained.

"She was breathing, that's like, the most basic sign that somebody is still alive, how did you miss that?" I asked.

"I didn't know." Kitty said.

"Well you do now, hopefully." I replied.

"Did we win?" Phoebe aske

"I think so? I don't remember much, I had taken down a lot of them one moment and the next I was waking up." I said.

"I think you did, there was a lot of data floating around here." Kitty said.

"Did you share it or take it all?" I asked.

"I shared it with Saphira, I don't know where IceLeomon went." Kitty said.

"Weird." I replied.

"Ok then Pheebles can you tell where Henry, Claire, or Zari is?" I asked.

"Give me a moment to wake up, my head is on fire." Phoebe said.

"I guess we both just fought until we collapsed." I said.

"I guess so." Phoebe replied as she sat up and held her head in her hands like a psyduck, after a few seconds of that, she stood up and started to walk away, still bracing her head.

"Come on, Zari is somewhere over here." She said.

"Ok, come on Kitty." I said as I followed my beloved.

The town was a mess, it seemed like no building was left unscathed from the fighting last night, there were a lot of little piles of broken glass and splintered wood scattered around, chunks of planks that used to line the sides of the buildings. No corpses or blood though, as that was all absorbed by our digimon, which now sounds a bit creepier for some reason.

"OK apparently IceLeomon hit in a closet all night." Phoebe said as we got closer to Zari.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yep." Phoebe replied. "And Zari is really mad at him for it. Like really, really mad."

"Should be fun to watch." I replied.

-meanwhile-

"Look IceLeomon this isn't a teddy bear daycare ok? You either help us or you're out of the group." Said a furious Zari.

"But you can't I was destined." IceLeomon meekly claimed.

"Destined to what? Hide in a closet while everyone else is out fighting for their lives?" Zari asked.

"It's not my fault, it's this form. I don't know what it can do and it terrifies me." IceLeomon said.

"Well have you tried figuring out what it can do? No you're just sitting here in a closet like a coward." Zari said.

"You used to be so damned confident and now what? You're just a little bit smaller and it's all gone." Zari continued a few moments later.

"I just want my form back." IceLeomon said.

"We don't know if that's even possible so for the time being you need to learn how to use this one." Zari said.

"If you didn't gamble like an idiot in the first place this wouldn't of happened. Never play street games, ever, as far as you know, they're all scams, that's why they exist, because the people that run them, need to make money off of it at the end of the day. I've seen people who make their whole living off of it, sometimes I've arrested them." Zari said.

"You have?" IceLeomon asked.

"Yeah there was this one guy who would only deal in gold or other commonly valuable things and his prizes would often be in the thousands. He'd setup in a wealthy neighborhood, like Beverly hills and the like, and pretend to be a tv show host, He'd take people's watches and jewelry as a bet against cash, then once he made a few thousand dollars he'd jump to another universe, sell whatever he won for the cash of that world, where he could often get more than what it was worth due to it being of a brand that doesn't exist in that world, which by the way, is completely illegal, and then he would start all over again." Zari explained.

"But anyway that's not the point, the point is you need to get off your butt and learn how to use this short, plushy, somewhat cute form." Zari said.

"What's the point, How could I possibly defeat anything like this?" IceLeomon said.

"Ok you know what? Fine. Stay in your closet. Don't be surprised if we end up leaving you behind." Zari said as she stormed out of the room.

-back to Phoebe and I-

"Hi Phoebe what's going on?" Saphira said as she came out of another alleyway.

"We're going to see Zari. Then we'll find Henry and Claire later since they're farther away." Phoebe explained.

"How did it go last night?" Phoebe asked.

"It went very well, I took down a lot of them and I got a lot of experience." Saphira replied.

"Good. Did you finish the last of them?" Phoebe replied.

"I don't know. I just kept going until they eventually stopped coming after me." Saphira replied. "That was the last one I saw, I don't know if it was thee last one.

"We both fought until we dropped. Neither of us really remember when we fell asleep. We're both insanely lucky nobody killed us when we did." I said.

"I think we killed them all before we did." Phoebe said.

"Either that or they thought we were already dead like Kitty." I said.

"Nah, they can't be that dumb." Phoebe said to me through telepathy.

"Did you just say that out loud?" I thought. The sudden switch to telepathy caught me off guard for a moment.

"No, I'm not that mean." I heard her voice in my head as she looked at me in silence.

I gently hugged her as we continued to walk towards wherever Zari was.

"Well I thought you were dead so they might have too." Kitty said.

" Yeah but if we didn't kill them all that means that some may have escaped." I said.

"So?" Kitty replied.

-meanwhile about 30 miles further west, at one of Indramon's forward operating bases. What was left of the group that attacked us last night returned.

" General these guys mean business, you sent 300 of us out there and only 50 of us made it back." One of the surviving Centaurumon replied.

"Are they dead?" Nightmareunimon replied. An ultimate level, female equine looking digimon with a very dark purple coat surrounded in a misty light purple aura. Her eyes covered by a large black helmet, with a bright red visor and large, black, bat-like wings sprouting from her back. Resembling what would happen if a classical unicorn and a gengar could have offspring. A ghostly, more demonic, and ultimately more powerful version of unimon.

"We had to retreat before we could kill them." Centaurumon replied.

"YOU FOOL! YOU CAN'T BEAT THEM UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO FIGHT TO THE LAST! Join company b, and get back out there tonight, and if you don't kill them, don't come back. Or I will hunt you down." The wicked digimon replied. "Now I must go speak to indramon to see about receiving more reinforcements, he is not going to be happy about this."

-back in town-

Eventually we found Zari, who finished chewing out IceLeomon by then, but was still very grumpy.

"Ever since he ended up in that form IceLeomon has turned into a complete pansy." Zari said. "He just hid inside this house all night. Even Claire was more help than him and you know how she is."

"Yeah well, we're going to have to sort him out at some point." I said.

"Good luck, I already tried." Zari replied.

"I know, I heard you." Phoebe said with a giggle.

"You did?" Zari asked.

"Well, not physically. So how long have you been awake?" Phoebe asked.

"A couple hours or so." Zari replied.

"Do you remember falling asleep?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Yeah, I slept in this house after I hadn't seen another enemy for about an hour. By the way, do you want your gun back now?" Zari asked.

"Nah it's allright you can hold onto it for now." I said.

"Well that's something I never thought you would say." Phoebe joked.

"So, you don't remember falling asleep?" Zari interjected.

"Neither of us do, I think we literally fought until we dropped. I was just curious if the same happened to you because if it did it might be more than that." I explained.

"Like what?" Zari asked.

"I don't know, maybe the enemy hypnotized us somehow?" I replied.

"We've seen it before." Phoebe added.

"Oookayy. I don't know about that, but I don't feel hypnotized." Zari replied with much unsuriety.

"Zari, you're not supposed to know you're hypnotized. If you knew you were hypnotized you wouldn't be hypnotized." Phoebe said.

"Oh, ok." Zari said.

"I'm a hypnotist trust me." Phoebe said.

"When is the last time you hypnotized somebody?" I asked.

"Have you ever hypnotized somebody?" Phoebe asked in return.

"Good point." I replied.

"Why don't we go get Henry and Claire and then we'll talk to IceLeomon and see if we can get him to help out again. He's probably not used to his new form and well, you know he hates it." Phoebe suggested.

"Might have to get Kitty to spar against him." I said.

"What?" Kitty asked.

"I said you might need to fight IceLeomon for a bit." I said.

"But he's a friend." Kitty replied.

"Well you don't have to kill him just fight him till he learns . . . . . . . we'll talk about this later let's just go find Henry and Claire." I said.

"What we really need to do is find a way to get him back to normal." Zari said. "I don't know about you but 8ft tall lion man is way more intimidating then, what is he now a 3ft tall teddy bear?"

"I'd say maybe 4 ft, but whatever, they're both ultimate level digimon, he should have about the same amount of power really, it's just distributed differently." I said.

"It must have went all into cuteness instead of strength." Phoebe jokingly added.

"Well he's gotta be something more than that. Let's just go find Henry and Claire, and then we'll put him against Kitty and see what he can do." I said.

"What if he doesn't want to fight Kitty though?" Phoebe asked.

"Then we'll just keep attacking him until he feels like he has no choice." I said.

"Don't you think that could backfire?" Phoebe asked as she started to walk away in what I assumed was the right direction, so I started following her and then our digimon started to trail behind as well.

"What else are we supposed to do Pheebles? Just cut our losses and leave him behind? Or should we actually try to show him that his new form isn't as pathetic as he thinks it is. I know it's got to be capable of something, otherwise it wouldn't be an ultimate." I said.

"It just seems like beating him up is something that could go horribly wrong." Phoebe said.

"Well it's a risk we'll have to take." I said.

"You want me to beat him up?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah, but don't kill him. And not right now, first we find Henry and Claire. Zari why don't you just stay here and keep an eye on him, we'll be back in a bit." I replied.

"Ok." Zari said as she broke off from the group.

-Five minutes later-

"You guys are back already? Where's Henry and Claire?" Zari asked.

"Well Pheebles explain." I said after a few too many moments of silence.

"I found them, but they're getting busy so it's probably best we just leave them alone for awhile." Phoebe explained.

"Ok." Zari replied with a giggle.

"So where's IceLeomon?" I asked.

"He never left the closet." Zari replied.

"Oh ok, where's the closet?" I asked

"Come on I'll show you." Zari said as she led us into the house. The ground floor didn't exist, it was just dirt, with a large hole in the center, indicating this house was likely owned by a digimon that liked to dig, like an armadillomon or prairiemon. The closet was upstairs where there was a normal wooden plank floor.

"Are we leaving yet?" IceLeomon asked as he watched us enter the room behind Zari.

"If you're just going to hide in closets why should we let you come with us?" I asked.

"Do I beat him up now?" Kitty asked.

"No wait till we get him outside." I said.

"You want to fight me?" IceLeomon asked.

"Yeah, we have to see if you're still able to fight, I can't really think of another way how, so Kitty is going to beat the crap out of you unless you defend yourself." I said.

"You'll never get me out of this box." IceLeomon said, apparently not understanding what a closet was.

"Hey baby girl you want to try to get him out of there?" I asked.

"Ok." Kitty said as she approached the closet.

"No! Not you." I said.

"He only calls me baby girl." Phoebe explained.

"Oh, sorry." Kitty apologized.

"You idiots just leave me alone." IceLeomon said.

"We can't, you're one of only three chosen digimon we've been able to find." I said.

He made a break for it, but Phoebe quickly picked him up off the floor with her powers, something she couldn't do when he was an IceLeomon.

"What is this?" IceLeomon asked as he flailed his limbs around trying to move.

"I guess I'll start." Phoebe said as she sort of threw him down the stairs.

"Owe ow ow ow." IceLeomon went as he fell down the stairs.

"Really Pheebles?" I asked.

"Well it's easier than carrying him down there." Phoebe explained. "And he's a digimon, he'll be fine."

"Whatever just get him outside. Kitty get ready." I said.

"You better not kill him." Zari said.

"We won't, don't worry." I replied. "Saphira you're on deck in case he somehow hurts Kitty."

"What? I am?" Saphira asked.

"No, Kitty can probably handle it, I was just wondering if you were paying attention." I said.

"Ha ha very funny." Saphira replied, completely unamused.

I headed down the stairs as Phoebe forced IceLeomon out of the house.

She sat down against the house to catch her breath as IceLeomon got to his short, stubby, pandamon knees, but at that point Kitty was at the door, and I was standing behind her.

"Allright Kitty time to pounce." I said.

"What?" Kitty asked.

"Attack IceLeomon." I said, with my face deeply burrowed into the palm of my hand, completely disappointed that she didn't understand.

"Oh, right, sorry." Kitty said as she advanced towards IceLeomon, who was now standing upright.

"So I just go and attack him then?" She asked.

"Yeah, beat the snot out of him, we went over this already." I said.

She paused for a moment as IceLeomon stared at her intently.

"Just think of it as practice." I said as she seemed to be having second thoughts about it. "Our pokémon fight each other all the time, they never seriously hurt each other, they're just practicing."

"Sorry IceLeomon." Kitty said as she charged towards him.

She quickly knocked him down and put her claws up to his throat, effectively pinning him.

"She's going to kill him." Zari said.

"I'll call her off when that looks possible." I replied.

"How does it not look possible?" Zari asked. "IceLeomon come on, you have to find a way to fight your way out of this or they'll kill you."

"I told you we're not trying to kill him." I said as Kitty got off of him and let him get back up.

"I didn't cut him Cj, I'm sorry, I didn't want to hurt him too much." Kitty said.

"Nah you're doing good, it's fine. We're not trying to hurt or kill him, we're just trying to get him to fight back." I said.

"I can't win, I don't know what to do!" IceLeomon said.

"Well you could try blocking for starters." I suggested. "Kitty, round 2, let's go."

"Wait would it help if he read his description on the digivice?" Zari asked as Kitty briefly stopped to see what she had to say.

"He should know a few moves naturally." Saphira said. "Even if he is freshly digivolved."

"Just go Kitty." I said. "Don't try to pin him, just try to beat him up without cutting him."

"Do you know how hard that is for me to do?" She asked.

"Well then looks like you need practice too." I replied with a smile.

Kitty went at it once again. IceLeomon tried to avoid her, but Kitty managed to knock him down with a few kicks and a lot of slaps with the back of her hands. Eventually ` 1`IceLeomon was panting in a crumpled heap on the floor.

"I CAN'T DO THIS!" He yelled as Phoebe stood up.

"Kitty that's enough quit attacking him." She said.

"Cj?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah he's hurt pretty bad, ease up." I agreed with my beloved.

"I was hoping he'd start fighting back by now." I said to my baby girl.

"Well, I don't think he knows how, or maybe he's too scared." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, but he's not scared enough to run away?" I said. "He's not trying to escape he's just standing there, staring her down, trying to hold his ground, but failing miserably."

"Why are we doing this again?" Phoebe asked.

"Because, I know, for a fact, that he should have some fighting ability, even in that form. Kitty shouldn't be able to beat him this badly." I said. "I guess he just doesn't believe in it enough to use it to its full potential."

"He doesn't believe in it at all, he wants his old form back." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, but, we don't know how to get it back." I said.

"Come on IceLeomon, try to fight back." Zari said.

"RAAAAAAAAAAW!" IceLeomon growled in anger as he ran towards Kitty. He punched her hard in the gut, knocking her back into the side of the house.

"Ow, that . . . hurt." Kitty struggled to say.

"See Pheebles, he's not as weak as he appears." I said.

"I guess, this form isn't that weak." IceLeomon said.

"Yeah, not weak." Kitty said as she sank down to the ground in pain.

"Ok I think that's enough." I announced.

"Oh yeah, as soon as Kitty gets hurt." Zari said.

"Oh she's fine, she'll be fine, right Kitty?" I asked.

"I . . . need … a minute." Kitty said.

"Take several." I replied.

"I think I just realized something." Phoebe said.

"What did you realize?" I asked.

"What if his digivolution is determined by his confidence?" Phoebe suggested.

"What?" I asked.

"I mean, when he got turned into that cute red thing, it was because he lost a lot of data to that alien tentacle monster thing right?" Phoebe began to explain.

"Yeah, go on." I replied.

"Maybe that loss killed his confidence so when we gave him his data back he turned into this teddy bear thing instead." Phoebe explained.

"So you want to try it again now that he has some confidence back?" I asked.

"Yeah, let's try." Phoebe replied.

"Ok then, let's go get the data gun." I said.

Long story short, it didn't work.

-about 30 minutes later-

"Awe I'm going to be stuck like this forever." IceLeomon complained when he realized he was a pandamon yet again.

"Quit whining like a baby, you knew it was a longshot." Zari replied.

"It was a good idea, I guess it must be some other reason though." I said.

"We'll figure it out eventually." Phoebe said. "Maybe you're still not confident enough."

"Eh we'll work on it." I said.

"No more today!" Kitty protested.

"I thought you were ok?" I asked.

"I am, but that really hurt." Kitty replied.

"Well maybe Saphira can help then." Phoebe suggested.

"So, we should probably go find Henry and Claire now, if they're done?" I said after a few moments of silence.

"Yeah let's go." Phoebe replied. "You want to come Zari?"

"I'll stay here with the crybaby." Zari replied.

"Ok, Come on Saphira let's go." Phoebe said as she walked away, I followed her and Kitty, who was now fully recovered, followed me.

We quickly found Henry and Claire, who were in a somewhat awkward situation, we waited for them to correct said situation, then we headed back to Zari. Halfway back, the mechanorimon found us after easily finding each other, and started to follow us as well. Once we made it back to Zari our entire group was assembled. IceLeomon was chewed out some more, and the time came to decide whether we were going to stay another night in the city, or continue westward, knowing it was very likely we would come across enemy forces out in the desert with nowhere to hide. A force that was possibly larger than those we fought the night before, and Phoebe and I just made it out of that fight on luck and luck alone.

"We should head south, not west, they will be less likely to find us if we do." Henry suggested.

"Yeah, it would be best." I agreed.

"But I don't know the area south of here." Kitty pointed out.

"If we keep heading west how far is the nearest town Kitty?" I asked.

"I don't remember." She replied.

"See you don't know this area very well either." I said.

"I know what's over that way better than what is over this way." Kitty replied.

"Well, not enough to be useful apparently." I said.

"Even if we go the wrong way we could circle back at any time." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, that's true." I agreed. "And we can use the mechanorimon to keep an eye on them so we know when they enter the city."

"Yeah and they can tell us when it would be best to circle back." Phoebe said.

"Right." I replied.

"What?" Kitty asked.

"Ok so when they enter the city, we'll be several miles to the south. The mechanorimon will inform us and then we'll start heading northwest, until we're back in familiar territory, to you anyway, and then we'll be behind them and we can keep safely heading west while they're looking for us in the town. It's not that complicated really. They expect us to be there, and we're not going to be there." I said.

"It's only about noon now though Cj, they probably won't come until sunset again." Phoebe said.

"Ok I want one mechanorimon on one of the sand dunes overlooking the south side of the city, and the rest further south than that, at the extent of their range from the last. That way we can have a relay going about 6 miles or so, something like that." I said, prompting the mechanorimon to take to the skies with a thunderous roar.

"Well there they go." Phoebe said once the noise died down.

"I hope they heard me correctly." Was all I could say in response, I wasn't expecting them to leave so suddenly.

"I guess we'll find out later." Zari said.

"Eh, we got time to go check on them." I said.

"We got time for other things too." Phoebe said.

"Like what Pheebles?" I asked, to which she just smiled at me and winked.

"We need to find some water, I've been thirsty for days." Henry said, which made the rest of us realize we all felt thirsty as well.

Pretty much everyone aside from Kitty nodded in agreement.

"I thought we didn't need to eat anything." I said.

" That's just it though, in this heat, we'd all be dead by now with the amount of liquid we've been drinking." Henry said. "Even if we don't need it, I still feel thirsty."

" Well we do have cabbages and there's probably a juicer in one of these houses. Maybe if you want water bad enough it will taste like it." I joked.

"Yeah, but then it will be room temperature, I want some ice cold water." Henry said.

"Can't you just drink water out of the shower? It can come out ice cold there." I asked.

"No because then as soon as I leave the shower I feel thirsty again." Henry said.

"Oh, right, I forgot, it's a magic shower." I replied.

"Did you try getting some from a sink?" I asked.

"I haven't found one yet." Henry said. "I checked several houses this morning, none of them have any water fixtures whatsoever."

"I guess digimon aren't too keen on hygiene." Phoebe said.

"What does that mean?" Kitty asked.

"Saphira can't you make it rain?" I asked.

"You don't want to drink that it will put you to sleep." Saphira replied. "I tried it before, I woke up and it was pitch black outside."

"Ok." I replied.

"Can't your turtle friend shoot water?" Kitty suggested.

"Yeah, but, that water comes from inside of him." I awkwardly explained. "And it's probably mixed with creek water. We gotta go clear back to that bridge town and stock up there." I said.

"That's a long ways away, we shouldn't waste that much time." Phoebe replied.

"Then I guess we'll just have to deal with being thirsty." I said. "Or just hope we eventually find another water source."

"How many cabbages do we have?" Henry asked.

"A bunch." I replied.

"There's 20 on my digivice, that will last a few days." Phoebe said.

" Can I have one?" Henry asked.

"Sure knock yourself out." I said as Phoebe ejected one from her digivice.

"Here you go." Phoebe said as she threw it to him.

He took it and then headed into the nearest house. Claire quietly followed him.

"I need water too." Saphira said. "The heat is getting to me, I feel like my skin is drying out."

"Well I can give you a cabbage." Phoebe suggested.

"Phoebe, I need actual water." Saphira explained.

"Well I don't know what we can do about that." Phoebe said.

"You think we should just wait out here or head inside?" Zari asked.

"I don't know, wait actually, I think I forgot something." Phoebe said.

"What?" I asked.

"Come on Cj we need to go, you can help." She said as she tugged on my arm.

"We can help too." Kitty said.

"No, you don't know what the thing we're looking for looks like." Phoebe said before teleporting the two of us several buildings up the road.

"What are we looking for?" I asked.

"Cj it's a ruse." Phoebe explained. "Now we're alone."

"Aw baby girl wants some more loving?" I asked.

"Yes. But first let's find somewhere further away." Phebe said.

"You want to just head back to the bus?" I asked.

"No, they'll think to look there." Phoebe said.

"You don't think our friends will wonder whatsup?" I asked.

"Well even if they found out what does it matter, Henry and Claire were going at it earlier." Phoebe said.

-meanwhile-

"They're totally fucking." Zari said.

"Yep." Saphira agreed.

"What no, Phoebe lost something and they're trying to find it." Kitty said as the other two rolled their eyes.

-back to us-

"Hey Pheebles, this looks like some sort of restaurant." I said.

"So?" Phoebe replied.

"You up for a little roleplay?" I asked as I headed inside.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Maybe it would be hot if you pretended to be a waitress, I don't know." I explained.

"Oh,ok then, can I take your order?" She asked, awkwardly, in a manner that killed any sexual thoughts I could ever have about such a thing.

"Um, hey wait a minute, I can see there's a sink in the kitchen." I said.

"So? Is it sexy?" Phoebe asked.

"Water." I replied.

"Oh." Phoebe said.

"Let's get a drink first then we'll have some fun ok?" I asked.

"I guess it would be more exciting if we didn't feel so thirsty." Phoebe said.

So we got a drink from the sink which for some reason didn't have the magical anti-water barrier the shower had, and once we satisfied one kind of thirst we looked towards satisfying another. Then we left the restaurant and went to tell the rest of the group about the sink we found.

"You two done fucking?" Zari asked within moments of our return.

"Oh Zari, we weren't having sex, I misplaced one of my spinny blade thingys, and I found it and now it's safely back in my digivice." Phoebe lied.

"Anyway while we were looking for one of her shurikens, we found a sink that you can actually drink the water out of." I said.

"And why were you looking for it inside a building?" A suspicious Zari asked.

"It flew in through the open door. Anyway it's inside this restaurant a few blocks down the street." Phoebe said. "Come on we'll take you."

"We can go this time?" Kitty asked.

"Yes you can go." Phoebe said.

"Just let me get Henry and Claire and I'll come back out." Zari said as she headed inside.

So we gathered up all the empty plastic soda bottles we could find in the bus, that we had been keeping around for this reason, headed to the restaurant and got as much water as we could fit into our assortment of containers.

"Oh my goddess." Kitty exclaimed.

"What?" I asked.

"You two were having sex in here I can tell from the smell!" Kitty said.

"She just now figured it out." Zari said, unamused.

"We weren't having sex in here!" Phoebe lied.

"That's not what my nose says." Kitty said.

"She's clearly gone crazy." Phoebe said." Does anyone else smell anything?"

"No, but I don't know why she would be making that up." Zari said.

"I'm not making it up." Kitty said.

"Ok fine we were having sex in here." Phoebe admitted. Henry and Claire oddly stayed quiet.

"Pheebles!" I exclaimed.

"What they know already? And Henry and Claire were having sex earlier and so basically you three are the only ones not getting layed today." Phoebe said before playfully sticking her tongue out at them.

"We're not?" Kitty asked.

"Cj and I are in love, is it really that big of a deal." Phoebe asked.

"Apparently it is enough for you to lie about it." Zari replied.

"Well I didn't want any of you to come along, Cj and I just wanted to be alone, together." Phoebe explained. While I just stood there and blushed like an idiot only to get momentarily distracted by Saphira dumping bottles of water on herself, in a not completely unprovocative manner.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"It feels good." She replied.

"You're spilling most of that water directly on the floor." I said.

"So? It's not our house." She replied.

"Cj stop staring at my digimon. And Saphy if you're going to do that, whatever you're doing, do it outside." Phoebe said.

"Fine." Saphira replied as she refilled her water bottles and headed outside. With her gone, I just decided to stare directly into Phoebe's eyes.

"I'm sorry I embarrassed you honey." Phoebe said as she wrapped her arms around me.

"It's ok baby girl." I replied as I hugged her back.

"You're not sorry for lying?" Zari asked.

"Well, I was just being nice. You really just want me to tell you Cj and I are going off somewhere together so we can have sex?" Phoebe said.

"And you should be sorry for not bringing me along." Kitty said.

"Screw off." Zari replied.

"Yeah, what she said." Phoebe agreed as she stared daggers at Kitty.

"If you two want to be alone, just say you want to be alone." Zari said, Henry and Claire nodded, and Kitty looked extremely pouty.

"Ok, sure." Phoebe agreed.

"Ok, we got all the water we can carry, let's get out of here." I said as I started to gather up bottles.

"We still have so much time before sunset." Henry said.

"I don't know, do what you want guys, just be back at the vehicles by sunset." I replied.

"Zari maybe you should try to get closer to IceLeomon." Phoebe said.

"How?" Zari asked.

"I don't know, just talk to him, play games." Phoebe suggested.

"He's still upset about his new form." Zari said.

"Well, hopefully he'll get over it once we get in another fight. If we can find one where we're not completely outnumbered." I said.

"Aren't we supposed to have digimon too?" Henry asked.

"I assume so, but I don't know." I replied.

"Here's an idea, if we can't find the other two chosen digimon, maybe you should just befriend a random one. Just pick a strong one and try to make nice with it." Phoebe suggested.

"I'm not sure that's how it works Pheebles, but I guess it's worth a shot." I said. "A random digimon is better than no digimon."

"But no raremon, they smell horrible." Kitty said.

"I don't think that needs to be said." I replied.

It wasn't a very exciting afternoon, Phoebe and Kitty were back to not getting along again, but after watching them argue about a lot of mostly trivial things and occasionally having to step in to keep them from murdering each other, eventually the sunset arrived, and we headed southward, out of town. The mechanorimon miraculously spaced themselves out just like I had asked and we headed to the very last one in the line and waited to receive the signal that the enemy was approaching the city. I also told them to flee to the east once the attack began, that way they wouldn't lead the enemy right to us, and to circle back once they were out of sight and regroup with us some point to the northwest. The farthest one would come with us to act as a beacon for the others. By then our plan was set, and all we had to do was wait. When the time came, all went well. They searched the town and when they didn't find us they kept heading east, further away from us.

We drove in shifts and kept moving clear until the next morning, by around noon the next day we found ourselves to be looking at what seemed to be an enemy base, converted from yet another small settlement, this one had buildings made mostly out of adobe, as opposed to the primitive wooden buildings most of the other settlements have had so far. It was surrounded by centaurumon, so we couldn't really explore it much more than that. We thought about going around it, but before we could do anything a group of centaurumon were already heading for us. They fired first, we retaliated, it was about a dozen of them or so, so they went down quickly and easily. Then a horn sounded from inside the town, and before long about a half dozen unimon and 30 more centaurumon were heading for us, but instead of attacking they stopped short. The apparent lieutenant, a demonic looking unicorn my digivice called nightmareunimon.

"There's no point in fighting." She said. "You've slain over 600 of my fiercest warriors to make it here. They might as well not even be a part of this."

"Who are you?" Zari asked.

"Nightmare Unimon, lieutenant commander of Indramon's forward army, or what is left of it." She replied.

"I alone will fight you here, for Indramon will absorb my data if I don't."

"You don't have to fight, you could join us, we're short a few digimon." Claire said.

"Claire when I said random digimon I didn't mean the ones trying to stop us." Phoebe interjected.

"I've already picked my side." NightmareUnimon said as she looked Claire in the eyes with murderous intent. "And you've already chosen yours."

"Hey back off we're the ones you want to fight." I said.

"NO, she dies first." The digimon replied as it went straight for a now completely terrified Claire.

Henry attempted to protect her, but ultimately they were both screwed if it wasn't for Kitty, who stabbed the phantom horse digimon straight in the side, Nightmare unimon turned, knocked Kitty flat on the ground on her back and prepared to crush her to bits with her front legs, only for Phoebe to commence attacking her as I quickly distributed weapons to the others before entering the fight myself. Finding herself quickly surrounded on all sides, Nightmareunimon suddenly vanished, then reappeared up in the skies and began to rain down exploding spheres of an odd, fiery purple energy, which were extremely painful to get hit by, one got too close to Henry and soon he found that his leg had basically been flash-fried. Kitty and I had to drag him to safety, he was in immense pain, and it wasn't even a direct hit. Claire and Zari tended to him while Kitty and I got back into the fight. The mechanorimon were quickly defeated as well, too slow to avoid her projectiles. It was very quickly down to just Phoebe and I and our digimon.

"These are sixth degree burns. Fuck it's going to be hard just to keep him alive." Zari said. "I don't have enough cream for this, he's not going to be able to walk for awhile."

"Do ya do ya have to amputate?" Henry asked.

"If we do it won't matter once we find a way to get more healing cream." Zari said. "It will grow back."

"Kitty we gotta end this now her attack is too devastating." I said. At this point I swapped my sword out for the obelisk, an oversized assault rifle usually carried by mummymon.

"What do you want me to do? She's flying, I can't hit her." Kitty replied.

"You have to digivolve!" I said in between shots.

"I don't know how." She replied.

It was important to note IceLeomon wasn't taking part, then again like Kitty there wasn't really much he could do against a flying target. He just observed the battle from the safety of the bus. Regardless he was going to get chewed out again later.

NightmareUnimon suddenly vanished, and then I got hit on left, hard, I dropped the obelisk.

"Cj!" Phoebe yelled.

"Ow what the hell?" I said as I tried to regain my composure, I wasn't badly hurt, I had more of a headache than anything. But nightmare unimon was right next to me, ready to finish me off. Kitty stabbed her again, to no avail, I saw her claws sink in but no wound was left behind. A similar thing happened when Phoebe's shurikens made contact, leaving either no wound at all or one drastically smaller than it should have been. After repeated strikes from both of them, it seemed she had fought little more than a tiny ninja with a scalpel. There was little I could do besides roll out of the way. Thankfully with my life on the line, it turned out to be enough pressure for Kitty to once again digivolve into lilithmon, the sight of her caused nightmare unimon to "teleport" back to the skies, to avoid what could potentially be a fatal blow. I got up, retrieved the obelisk and started to fire at her again.

"I still can't hit her when she's in the air." Kitty said.

"Well you gotta have some sort of ranged attack don't you?" I asked.

"I don't know." She replied.

"Well check the digivice I don't really know what to say." I said as I quickly tossed it to her before going back to shooting.

Saphira was doing all she could to protect herself from the fireballs that seemed to be purely focused on her at that moment.

As soon as she picked it up nightmare unimon vanished again.

"No you're not!" I yelled as I turned and pulled the trigger, figuring she would reappear alongside me again. I ended up hitting her point blank several times before I backed away and she vanished once again, reappearing in the sky behind all of us where she could get a few seconds to breathe.

"I missed her." Kitty said.

"Don't worry about that just figure out how you can hit her when she's airborne." I replied.

"Yeah, but if she comes back again." Kitty said.

"Just figure it out. It's not a good time to argue." I replied as I kept my gaze focused on NightmareUnimon.

"Can I have gun?" Claire asked as she approached me from behind.

"You sure you want . . . . . " I began to ask.

"Just give me a gun please." Claire interrupted.

"Ok fine, Kitty give her a gun." I replied.

"Um, ok." Kitty replied as she continued to mess around with my digivice. Instead of just one gun she actually ejected my entire inventory, but I was too focused on the combat to worry about it at that particular moment. It didn't really matter as Claire found a revolver in that pile of junk and proceeded to open fire on Nightmare Unimon, as Kitty struggled to put everything else back into the digivice.

"Allright you stupid horse, this is personal." Claire said.

I don't know if she managed to hit her or not, I couldn't even tell if I was landing hits on her, but damn she tried.

We had to occasionally move to dodge incoming purple fireballs of burning death, but for the most part Phoebe and Saphira were the main damage dealers, so most of her attention focused on them.

Saphira was standing clear on the other side of nightmare unimon. Playing a careful juggling act of attacking her and intercepting her fireballs.

Phoebe was all over the place, constantly teleporting as usual.

The battle continued for a solid hour. Then everyone started to slow down, while Kitty struggled to learn her new moveset as a lilithmon, acting rather strange in the process closing her eyes, spinning around and saying the names of her attacks over and over. Her situation not unlike iceleomon's, but with the exception that she believed in her new form.

"What is she even doing?" Phoebe telepathically asked me in the middle of all this.

"I don't know." I replied.

"Empress emblaze empress emblaze empress emblaze." Kitty repeated over and over while spinning around with her eyes closed.

"Cj I can't keep this up, my head is starting to hurt, we need to end her now." Phoebe said.

"Kitty!" I yelled.

"What?" She asked.

"Just pick up a gun and start shooting." I ordered.

"But." She stammered.

"No butts, Phoebe's getting tired. We're all getting tired, we don't have time for you to figure yourself out right now, we'll work on it later." I said.

"But I won't have time later, what if I de-digivolve by then?" She asked.

"We got more important problems right now. Pick up a gun, start shooting, " I said.

"Ok fine." Kitty replied as she dropped the nazar nail on the ground, the already sparse vegetation sizzling as it made contact with it.

She picked up another revolver, a twin to Claire's and fired it extremely haphazardly, not even attempting to compensate for the recoil. Thankfully it was a revolver and stopped working after six shots.

"Kitty what the hell was that?" I asked.

"You told me to shoot at it." She replied.

"I said shoot at it not around it." I replied.

"How do you know I didn't hit her?" Kitty said.

"Because you were pointing in literally ever direction but at her." I said.

"Well anyway the gun is broken." Kitty said.

"It's not broken, it's out of ammo, you have to release the cylinder and wait a few seconds for it to reload on its own. " I said.

"How do I do that?" Kitty asked.

"By pressing the cylinder release." I said, all while the battle with nightmare unimon was still ongoing.

"Here I'll show you. It's this button." Claire said.

"Now you just broke it more!" Kitty said as the spent shells plummeted to the ground.

"No it's supposed to do that. Now just wait, see the bullets are regenerating."

The spent shells faded out of existence one by one and regenerated in the cylinder, fully loaded. A process that took about 5 seconds, though different guns took different amounts of time. On the obelisk, all I had to do was take the clip out and put it back in after 30 rounds.

Claire continued to teach her how to use the revolver somewhat effectively, obviously something Henry had taught her at some point. And before long we were all firing at nightmare unimon.

"I can't keep this up anymore Cj." Phoebe said to me telepathically as she began to tire out.

"Pull out before you get hurt then." I replied.

"But then she'll go after you three." Phoebe said.

"So, Kitty will be fine and Claire and I can dodge." I replied.

"Cj I can't hold this form much longer. I'm going to revert back soon, I'm starting to feel weak." Kitty said.

"Crap, well at least you were able to digivolve." I replied.

"Saphira get ready I need to pull out soon, I'm getting too slow." Phoebe said.

"Too late" Nightmare Unimon replied as she suddenly appeared next to her and smacked her into the ground with her wings.

"Pheebles!" I yelled as nightmare unimon threw a fireball at her in an attempt to finish her off.

Thankfully Saphira managed to intercept it.

"Phoebe are you ok?" She asked.

She didn't respond, she just teleported away. I couldn't tell where, but I was pissed now.

"Kitty come on, you have to finish her. before you de-digivolve." I said.

"I'll try." She replied.

"I believe in you." I said.

"Phantom pain!" Kitty said as she waved her arms around.

"Seriously." I asked in disbelief, as it seemed like she was just goofing around, but, surprisingly it actually worked.

"What, what is this?" Nightmare unimon said as purple flames began to erupt from its body.

"Oh look she's actually doing something." Phoebe said as she came up behind me.

"Pheebles! You're ok." I cheered as I turned around and hugged her.

"Owe, not that ok, don't squeeze so hard. My back" She said.

"Sorry." I replied.

"It hurts." Nightmare unimon said as it gently floated towards the ground, the flames gradually getting brighter and larger.

"Make it stop." She said.

"Please make it stop." She said as she burst into tears.

"Kitty is there anyway you can speed this up?" I asked.

"I barely know what this is." She replied.

"MAAAKE ITTT STOPPP!" Nightmare unimon said before her speech devolved into nothing but agonized screaming.

I stopped watching her die at that point, eventually it stopped when Kitty fell to her knees and reverted to a persiamon, but by then the damage was done and nightmare unimon was nothing but a pile of data laying before us. The centaurumon army abandoned their base and retreated further west, leaving an empty town behind.

"Indramon is next." Kitty said in a rather vindictive manner between strained breaths.

"I'm gonna go check on Henry, here's your gun back." Claire said.

"Ok, thanks for teaching Kitty how to shoot." I replied.

"Yeah sure, no problem." Claire said as she walked away.

"Phoebe! Are you ok?" Saphira said as she came running over to join the group.

"I'm ok Saphy, just a bit sore, Cj will need to help me make it back to the bus." Phoebe replied.

"Sure thing baby girl." I replied. "But first let's make sure Henry's ok."

"I can still hear him between you, Claire, Zari, and pain." Phoebe replied.

"Whose pain?" Kitty asked.

"You are, sometimes." Phoebe replied.

"I am? Then who am I when I'm not?" Kitty continued. The rest of us found it very hard not to laugh.

"You're an interdimensional space monkey." I said.

"I'm a monkey?" She asked.

"No you're just really really dense." Phoebe replied.

"I am?" Kitty asked.

"Are you on drugs?" I asked in a somewhat serious manner.

"No I'm on sand, and I'm tired." Kitty said.

"Well that might explain some of it." I said to Phoebe.

"Maybe." Phoebe replied.

"Explain what?" Kitty said.

"How you can be so, Ummmmm." I found myself at a loss for words.

"Special." Phoebe interrupted.

"Awwe you think I'm special that means a lot coming from you." Kitty very lovingly said to Phoebe.

"Yeah, don't mention it." Phoebe hesitantly replied.

"So it looked like you were finally getting the hang of your mega form toward the end there. You also held it longer." I said.

"Yeah, one move, out of, more than one." Kitty replied.

"What about the one you used to bring down Porcelamon?" I asked.

"Well that one too." Kitty said.

We headed to the bus, because that turned out to be where the rest of the group was anyway, aside from IceLeomon, who was now standing outside by the door.

"Zari told me to stand guard." He said.

"And you actually intend on doing it?" I asked.

"Well, I uh." He tried to explain.

"You better take part in the next battle or I'm kicking you off of my bus." I said.

"Cj, don't be mean." Phoebe said as I headed inside the bus.

"Henry you allright?" I asked. He was laying on the floor, with his legs up on one of the seats.

"No, not even close. You don't even want to know how badly this hurts." He replied.

"I can see it, I'm surprised you're not screaming. Here let me help. We don't have any pain killers, but if I knock you out you won't feel anything." Phoebe said as she followed me inside.

"And he'll be stable like that?" Zari asked as I moved out of the way so Phoebe could get through.

"Yeah, but we'll have to find a way to get him healed, quickly. Now hold still." Phoebe said as she placed her hand upon his head and quickly knocked him unconscious.

"There, now for the hard part, how are we going to heal him?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't have near enough gel left for this." Zari said.

"White digiroot." Saphira said.

"What?" I asked.

"It's medicine, it will heal. You have to cut it up and mix it with the cabbage juice." Saphira continued.

"Yeah, but what if it only works on digimon?" I asked.

"Well it's the best shot we have, you're not going to find any human medicine around here unless you're really really lucky. But white digiroot is common enough that there might even be some in that town nearby." Saphira said.

"You knew about this the whole time and you never said anything?" I asked.

"Well you didn't really need it until now because you had your own stuff and I wasn't entirely sure it would work anyway. But now that you ran out of that creamy stuff it's worth a shot." Saphira replied.

"Well then let's go find some. Let's start looking around that city now that the centaurumon have abandoned it." I said, hoping this wouldn't take long.

"Zari how much cream do you have left? My back is sore." Phoebe said.

"Just what's left in this jar." Zari said.

"Cj can you help me put this stuff on?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah allright." I said as I took the jar of healing cream.

"Only use as much as you have to." Zari said before letting go of the jar.

"Yeah, of course." I replied as Phoebe turned around.

"Ok Pheebles where does it hurt?" I asked as I lifted up her dress.

"Around my psyhorn on the lower edge." She replied.

"Ok so right here?" I asked.

"Mhm." She replied.

"Ok." I said as I rubbed the bare minimum of cream in.

"Is that enough?" I asked.

"Just a little more." She replied.

Anyway I got her fixed up and then we headed outside with our digimon to explore the adobe city that was a military base just hours before.

"Wow they sure left a lot of stuff behind." Phoebe said. There were flags, torches, boxes filled to the brim with cabbages and raw materials. An assortment of maker machines, rows of 19th century cannons that were oddly never used, stacks of cannonballs, barrels of gunpowder. Even though cannons of that style were extremely obsolete, the centaurumon themselves have a way more advanced cannon, they had enough of them that they could offer an immense amount of fire support, so their lack of use was utterly baffling. I could only chalk it up to the centaurumon finding them difficult to operate.

"Wow look at all these cannons." I said.

"What are you going to do with them?" Phoebe asked as I wondered if they would fit in the digivice.

"No idea, I think it would just be funny to keep one as a joke. It's not like it's any extra effort to carry once it's in the digivice." I said.

"You and your guns." Phoebe said with a sigh as I held the digivice up to one of them and pressed the button to suck it inside.

"It's a cannon Pheebles." I said.

"So? It's basically just a really big gun." Phoebe replied.

"And it actually fits inside the digivice somehow. Neat." I said as its icon appeared on the screen.

"Hey guys, there's more digimon over here." Saphira said as she beckoned us over to a building.

Sure enough, a handful of various digimon were chained up inside.

"Survivors." I muttered.

"We should let them go." Phoebe said.

They weren't gagged, but they all seemed too terrified to speak.

"It's allright, we won't hurt you." Phoebe said. "We're the good guys."

"How long have you been locked up?" I asked.

"They keep us alive because we know the area pretty well." A palmon finally gathered the courage to reply..

"So you know where the next town is?" I asked.

"In which direction?" The palmon asked.

"West." I replied.

"No no no , don't go further west, you'll run into more of Indramon's army." The palmon replied.

"We've dealt with them pretty well so far. Do you know where his fortress is by chance?" I asked.

"Do you have a deathwish? You'll never make it that far west." A gotsumon interjected.

"I remember you, you took my entire inventory." A veggiemon said.

"Yeah well your inventory just helped save your ass so." I replied.

"But if you're that veggiemon, then that must mean this harpymon is." Kitty began to put things together.

"Yes, I am." The harpymon replied.

"Does that mean I can have free rings if I set you free?" Kitty asked.

"No, it doesn't." The harpymon replied.

"Why not?" Kitty asked.

"Those centaurumon wrecked my shop, most of my rings are probably buried in the sand by now." Harpymon said.

"Kitty stop being an extortionist. Pheebles, go ahead and unchain them." I said.

"Right." My beloved replied as she set to work, using her powers to open the locks without needing keys.

"Thankyou." The harpymon said.

"What's an extortionist?" asked a confused Kitty.

"Nevermind." I replied.

"We need to continue west, we don't care if it's a deathtrap. We need to stop Indramon for good." I said.

"Yes! I'm from here so I know the way, somewhat, but I haven't been here in a while so some help would be nice." Kitty enthusiastically agreed.

"Then I'll show you." Harpymon said.

"You can't be serious." Veggiemon replied.

"Those guys destroyed my business and killed garbagemon. The least I can do is help them stop Indramon for good." Harpymon replied.

"And maybe we could show you what our humans taught us too." Kitty said rather inappropriately referring to sex.

"oh arceus, here we go again." Phoebe said softly.

"You did it Pheebles, you created a monster." I joked.

"Can we please Phoebe?" Kitty asked.

"No Kitty, it's Saphy's turn tonight she saved my life she deserves a reward." Phoebe said, causing Saphira to stare at the ground as her cheeks went red. Thankfully none of the recently free digimon even knew what we were talking about.

"Um, can we just play cards or something?" Saphira shyly asked, which turned out to be what Phoebe was banking on.

"Yes, of course." Phoebe replied.

"You can't be serious." Kitty said.

"Oh but we are, she saved my life and she wants to play cards so we will." Phoebe replied.

"Harpymon you can either come with us now or meet us at our bus later, but right now we need to find some white digiroot for a friend. The rest of you are free to do whatever, just don't cause trouble." Phoebe said.

"Ok, I'll see you later then." Harpeymon said.

"Right, bye for now." Phoebe replied as we left the building.

"We better do more than just play cards." Kitty said once we were a fair distance away.

"Kitty, you have no right to make demands. You're starting to make me mad." Phoebe replied.

"Me too." I added as I put my arm around my baby girl and pulled her in close. Kitty responded by walking closer to me.

"Me and her are a thing, you and I are not. Outside of this tamer stuff." I said.

"But the sex." Kitty said.

"Should have never happened." I said.

"It was fun, but you have no right to demand it." Phoebe said.

"Look at Saphira, she's handling this well." I said.

"That's because she's too quiet for her own good." Kitty said.

"Yeah and you're too loud for your own good. Anyway, so what? We just start checking random houses or?" I asked.

"I guess so." Phoebe said.

"Why don't you two check that house over there, Phoebe and I will check this one." I said.

"Oh come on really?" Kitty asked.

"Ok." Saphira agreed as Kitty reluctantly trudged along behind her.

"You know he only said that so they can have sex without us. Just like they did earlier, with that thing they had to get." Kitty said once she and Saphira were out of earshot.

"Maybe they just said that so you would leave them alone." Saphira spoke up.

"Whatever, what are we even supposed to be looking for again?" Kitty asked.

"White digiroot." Saphira replied, puzzled at how she had forgotten so quickly.

-Meanwhile-

"Yes now we can be alone." Phoebe said once they were out of earshot.

"Exactly." I said.

"I'm sorry, but your digimon is kind of a ." She began to say.

"A bitch?" I replied.

"Yeah, I was looking for a nicer word." Phoebe said.

"Well you know who's fault it is." I said.

"Yeah, I know." Phoebe said as she looked towards the ground.

"I figured tonight we just go off on our own like we have been doing." I said.

"Yeah." Phoebe agreed.

"Hopefully Kitty will learn to accept reality after awhile." I said.

"I hope so, it is partly my fault." Phoebe said.

"Well hopefully you learned something, and this won't completely screw us over." I replied.

"Mhm." Phoebe agreed.

"Do you still love me?" Phoebe asked.

"I'll always love you baby girl." I replied.

"I just wanted to hear you say it." She said, cutely.

"Allright let's quit standing around and find this silly magic plant that our friend needs." I said.

"Right." Phoebe agreed as I opened the crude wooden door of the house.

We headed inside and began to look around, it was a small house with only 3 rooms and an attic. So it didn't take long to search through. It looked like it had already been searched, as some furniture had been knocked over and there wasn't much to find at all.

"Actually Cj, you know Henry is going to be out for awhile." Phoebe said when we were about to head outside.

"And your point?" I asked.

"Take me." She said.

"Right now?" I asked.

"Actually wait till Kitty comes back, we'll block the door and then she can watch us through the window, think how mad she will be." She said.

"You want to do it in front of her just to make her mad?" I asked.

"Mhm." She cutely replied as she wrapped her arms around me.

"Come on, it'll be fun." She said as she drew me into a kiss.

"Just remember once we get going we have to be as loud as possible ok?" She continued.

"Now show me that you're mine." She said as she used her powers to send my pants to the floor.

"We have time to warm up before she comes back." She said as she got down on her knees.

"Wait, you think maybe this isn't the best idea?" I asked as I kept her from touching me.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I mean, I know you don't get along with her, but you don't need to escalate things baby girl." I said as I pulled her back up before doing the same with my pants.

"You think I like watching you two fight? I get it, she pushed her boundaries a bit, but you don't need to try to escalate it." I replied.

"She needs to be taught a lesson, and you need to show me that I'm still your only baby girl." Phoebe replied as she sent my pants to the floor again.

"You know you are baby girl." I said.

"I know, but I want you to show me. In the most exciting way possible." She replied.

"Yeah and I will, but not just to escalate the fight between you and my digimon." I said.

"I love you Pheebles, but you need to learn to get along with her." I said as I once again picked up my pants.

"But nobody gets along with her. Henry even kicked her out of his car. Saphy doesn't even like her." Phoebe said.

"Yeah and thanks to you she's my digimon. She'll get better, just give her a chance." I said.

"You're only defending her cause you like sleeping with her." Phoebe said.

"No I'm defending her because we need her. We're struggling with these fights enough as it is. And don't tell me you're jealous of her bedroom performance, you're amazing, there's nothing for you to be jealous of." I said.

"Well I can't just tolerate her constantly demanding me to let her sleep with you. What if some guy kept asking you that? You'd punch him in the face wouldn't you?" Phoebe said.

"There would be no face left to punch." I said.

"Exactly, so I need to do something similar to her." Phoebe explained.

"Punch her in the face?" I asked.

"Cj, i'm a gardevoir, I don't punch." Phoebe replied.

"I don't know Pheebles, there's not much you can do that won't just cause her to strike back." I said before pausing for a moment.

"But I'll tell you what baby girl, if she decides to escalate it, it's game on." I said as I put my arms around her.

"Now if you want to take us a bit further away from them, we can still have a little fun." I said.

"Nope, that offer expired you'll have to wait until tonight." Phoebe replied.

"Ohh, ok." I said.

She kissed me.

"That's is all you get for now." She said.

We left the house and went into the next one to look around, and the next, and the next, until we finally found one with a good supply of white digiroot, which sort of resembled large white carrots. Then we reunited with our digimon, who managed to find a few examples as well. On the way back to the bus, Phoebe showed as much affection for me as she possibly could without requiring a pg13 rating. Still trying to get back at Kitty, despite everything. I played along because I loved her and I found it nearly impossible not to kiss her back every time she kissed me. Kitty went real quiet, even quieter than Saphira.

"Do you guys really need to stop to kiss every thirty seconds?" Saphira asked.

"We're in love, deal with it." Phoebe replied.

"But you're being even more ridiculous than normal." Saphira pointed out.

"Yeah, so what?" Phoebe replied.

"Why?" Saphira asked.

"I'll tell you later." Phoebe replied.

"They're going to start having sex before we even make it back." Kitty said.

"Yeah and if we do it will be all without you, you'll just have to stand there and watch. How does that make you feel?" Phoebe replied.

"I would feel hurt and left out." Kitty replied.

"Pheebles." I scolded.

"Yeah well, that's what you get for constantly asking me to let you have sex with my husband." Phoebe said.

"But you let me sometimes." Kitty said.

"Yeah, but you have to wait for when we want it, not you." Phoebe replied.

"Yeah, well what if he wants it and you don't?" Kitty asked.

"That doesn't matter, we both have to want it." Phoebe said. "Or I'll be mad at both of you, just like Cj is mad at me for our first time."

"I'm not that mad at you, baby girl. I just want you to take some responsibility." I said.

"Well I'm trying too, right now." Phoebe said.

Saphira out of nowhere proceeded to strike Kitty with a waterball.

"Stop arguing with my tamer!" She said.

Everyone went quiet for a few seconds.

Kitty was now dripping wet, and very, very pissed. Before it even started, Phoebe and I knew exactly where this was going.

"Kitty, whatever you're thinking, don't." I said.

"I hate water you stupid fishwoman!" Kitty yelled as she charged directly at Saphira.

Phoebe thought fast and recalled Saphira into her digivice before she could get hurt.

"Send her back out so I can cut her to ribbons." Kitty demanded.

"Absolutely not." Phoebe replied.

"Then I'll just go through you too." Kitty said.

"No you won't." Phoebe replied as her hands began to glow.

"Kitty stop, for fuck sakes you're supposed to be on our side." I said. As I put my arm around her "This is exactly what I did not want to happen."

"I'm sorry." She said.

"Don't apologize to me apologize to her." I said.

"No, Kitty I'm sorry, I mislead you. I didn't think it would lead to this." Phoebe apologized.

"I, I need time alone. I'll see you back at the bus." Kitty said as she broke away from me and walked away.

"Is she gone?" Saphira asked a few moments later.

"Yes, and please don't do that again. She hates water, you know that." Phoebe said as Saphira came out of her digivice.

"If she comes back." I said.

"She'll come back, don't worry about it." Phoebe said as she started to walk away towards Kitty.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Cj I think there's only one way out of this and you have to let me be with her." Phoebe explained.

"You think she'll actually do that?" I asked.

"I don't know, it's worth a shot, and you can have Saphira in the meantime." Phoebe said.

"What?" Saphira nervously asked.

"Cj she saved my life today don't you think she deserves a reward?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah but." I began to replay.

"Well there you go." Phoebe interrupted.

"But I'd rather have you." Saphira said as Phoebe teleported away.

"I've said the same thing several times, it doesn't work. She just does what she wants." I said once we were alone.

"Now listen Cj just because she said you could have me doesn't mean I'll let you." Saphira said.

"Yeah but if she somehow ends up seducing Kitty, and we don't do anything, that means she cheated." I said.

"Well that's between you two, not me." Saphira replied.

"Well we can't stop her now, we don't even know where the heck she went." I said.

"Well then tough, let's just get this digiroot back to the bus." Saphira said.

"Or." I began to say.

"Or nothing I'm not doing it, let's go." Saphira interrupted.

"How about we go into that house and I show you how to properly take care of my baby girl in bed?" I said.

"You mean that thing with her ears? Yeah I know. I'll pass." Saphira replied. "Why don't you try to see if you can cash in with Zari?"

"Because Zari is kind of busy, and Phoebe gave me permission to have you, not her." I said.

"Did you give her permission to be with Kitty?" Saphira asked.

"You know what? That's a damned good point." I said.

"So we should go find her before she ends up seducing Kitty?" Saphira asked.

"Yeah, we probably should." I said.

-meanwhile somewhere a few blocks away.-

"I said I wanted to be left alone. I especially don't want to talk to you." Kitty said before Phoebe could even say anything.

"Oh come on, that's not really fare. Just because I let you sleep with him doesn't mean you can just have him." Phoebe said.

"So I thought, maybe I could sleep with you instead and we could compromise." Phoebe suggested.

"No, are you stupid? I hate you. Keep your clothes on, Go away! " Kitty said.

We were heading in Kitty's last known general direction when Phoebe suddenly teleported in front of us.

"Oh thank arceus you didn't go through with it, Kitty hates me." Phoebe said.

"I never gave you permission to sleep with her." I said, somewhat annoyed.

"You left me alone with Cj and expected me to sleep with him without talking to me first!" Saphira said, somewhat angrier.

"Great, everyone is mad at me." Phoebe said.

"I just wish you would have thought this out a bit better instead of just teleporting away, I understand when you do it when we're in combat, but for fuck sakes Pheebles. You were basically like "I'm going to do this, have fun with Saphira, bye!"

"And I didn't even get a say in any of this." Saphira replied.

"And I'm not going to force her to have sex with me if she doesn't want to, so basically, if you somehow managed to seduce kitty, you would basically be cheating on me." I said.

"Right see Saphira, everything was going to be . . . . " Phoebe began to explain.

"No that does not get you off the hook." I interrupted.

"I was just trying to fix things." Phoebe said. "I'm sorry."

"Hey Saphy she still owes you a reward doesn't she?" I asked.

"You're still horny?" Saphira asked.

About a minute later we all headed inside the nearest house.

"Yes stick it in please." Saphira begged.

"You sure, you seemed like you didn't want it earlier." I said.

"I want it now." She replied.

"Ok. " I said as I slowly put it in.

"lets rub our boobs together while you take my husband's cock." Phoebe said.

"Your's are so much bigger than mine." Saphira said.

"Mine are on the bigger side, don't worry about it." Phoebe replied.

-meanwhile-

"Lord Indramon are you sure it's wise to stage an invasion of the human world when the humans are approaching us at such a rapid pace?" Asked Indramon's advisor, an Alphacentaurumon, a very experienced, ultimate level centaurumon with more armor and age than others, a digivolution restricted to those that have mastered the ways of the centaurumon.

"Yes, I am sure, this way we can delay the humans long enough to ensure that I am able to meet with the other dark kings in order to resurrect deusmon . As soon as the rift machines have enough data, and the humans arrive, you are to enter the human world and slaughter, kill, and destroy as much as you can." Indramon replied.

Behind him a large procession of civilian digimon were being fed directly into a large, demonic looking machine. It takes a gargantuan amount of data to open a rift between the digital and human worlds, and the best way to get that data was the sacrifice of thousands of digimon. Between the machine and indramon's own forces, this is where most of the population of the western part of the digital world had gone.

-Meanwhile, back on the bus.-

"Where are those morons they left two hours ago. " Zari said.

"Maybe they found trouble?" IceLeomon suggested.

"They're probably off fucking somewhere." Zari said.

"What does that mean?" IceLeomon asked.

"You don't need to know." Zari replied.

Back to the current house of love.

"That was amazing." I said minutes after we finished.

"Do you forgive me now?" Phoebe asked.

"I forgave you before all this, I was just horny from the other stuff you tried to pull earlier." I said.

"What other stuff?" Saphira asked.

"Nothing, don't worry about it. Do you forgive me too?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah, I guess." Saphira replied.

"Can you leave Cj and I alone for a bit?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah just give me a moment to get dressed." Saphira said as she gathered up her belongings.

She left the house about a minute or so later.

"Cj." Phoebe said after a few moments of silence.

"What?" I replied.

"Kitty said she hates me." She said.

"Well maybe you should try being nice to her." I said.

"In ways that don't involve sex." I followed up seconds later.

"You should try talking to her." Phoebe said.

"Right now it's probably not the best, you remember, she'll be able to tell we had sex just from the smell." I said.

"Yeah, you're probably right." Phoebe agreed.

"Why don't we go back to the bus and take a shower?" I suggested.

"Together?" Phoebe asked.

"Sure if you want." I replied.

"Saphira should probably take a shower too." Phoebe suggested.

"We can't all fit in the shower Pheebles." I said.

"Well after us I mean." Phoebe replied. "Also I give you permission to sleep with Kitty one more time."

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I just want this whole mess to be over with. Make her feel like you're cheating on me to be with her and maybe she'll stop." Phoebe replied.

"Yeah because that worked before." I said.

"I don't know Cj, I just want her to be on speaking terms with me again." Phoebe replied.

"I messed everything up." She said as she started to cry.

"Yeah you did, but, we can fix this, somehow, don't cry. Come on, let's get back to the bus and take that shower." I said as I started to get dressed.

She followed my lead and we headed back to the bus with Saphira, Kitty was nowhere in sight, but we assumed she would find her way back eventually.

"There you are. Did you find what you were looking for." Zari said as we approached.

"Yep it's all in my digivice. Saphira help them make the medicine, Phoebe and I are going to take a shower." I said.

"Where's Kitty?" Zari asked.

"Um, it's complicated, she'll probably come back later." I said.

"Probably?" Zari asked.

"Phoebe what did you do?" Zari asked.

"She didn't do anything it was my fault, I got her wet. She hates water" Saphira explained before Phoebe could burst into tears again.

"Is Claire on the bus?" I asked.

"Yeah, you might want to send her off before you two, do whatever you do in the shower." Zari suggested.

"Did they get the medicine?" Claire asked as she emerged from the bus.

"Yeah." Zari said. "Why don't you help us make it, those two want to take a shower."

"Oh, ok." Claire replied as she stepped off the bus.

"How was your fucking?" IceLeomon awkwardly asked.

"Even if we were fucking, that's not really any of your business. Come on Pheebles." I said as I took her hand while she just glared at him.

"Why is he so rude now?" Phoebe asked as I pulled her onto the bus.

"I don't know." I replied as we made our way towards the back of the bus while we overheard Zari telling IceLeomon not to ask people that.

We took a quick, surprisingly sexless shower, then we headed back outside as the rest of the group finished preparing the medicine for Henry, who was still unconscious at this point. Phoebe woke him up so he could take his medicine.

"This stuff tastes like ass." He said after taking a sip of it.

"The digiroot nullifies the effects of the cabbage juice, but hopefully it will heal you." Saphira explained.

"I still can't feel most of my leg and the parts I can feel still hurt like hell." Henry complained.

It seemed like it wasn't going to work but then this strange blood like ooze suddenly erupted from his leg, gradually repairing the damage, but also creating a lot of excess blood which made a mess of the floor. Claire couldn't handle it and promptly threw up. Phoebe and I looked away, but eventually he regained feeling in his leg as it fully healed in about a minute.

"It actually worked." Henry said, surprised.

"Good, cause I am not cleaning this up." Phoebe said.

"We could just use Bubba." I said.

"And what about our bed? If Bubba gets it wet it will get all moldy." Phoebe said.

"And your cards, and your other stuff could be ruined." Zari pointed out.

" I'll take care of it." Henry apologized.'

"Also your girlfriend puked everywhere." I pointed out.

"I got it, I'll get it all cleaned up it will be fine." Henry said.

"Is there another digiroot that serves as a cleaning agent?" I asked.

"I don't know." Saphira replied.

"Well atleast it worked." I said.

"Atleast." Phoebe replied.

"Don't worry I'll get this all cleaned up for you it will be good as new." Henry said.

"Allright see what you can do." I said. "Let's go Pheebles it's starting to smell like puke in here."

"Yeah, it is, I'm out of here." Zari said as she got up and left.

"I'm sorry, I'll help clean too." Said an embarrassed Claire.

"Where are we going to go Cj?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know, somewhere outside." I said.

"Can I go with you?" Saphira asked.

"Sure, unless you want to stay here in barf land." I replied.

So we left the bus, and spent the next few minutes hanging out with Zari and IceLeomon as Henry and Claire attempted to clean the mess they had made, but without any proper cleaning supplies, we weren't expecting much.

Henry walked out of the bus a minute later with our bedsheets in his arm.

"There's nothing to wipe it with I had to use your bedsheets." He said.

"YOU WHAT!?" Phoebe exclaimed.

I guess we'll just have to use Bubba then." I said as I took his pokeball out of my pocket.

"I going to need you to hold those sheets out. You might get wet so if you have anything on you that could be water damaged." I said.

"I'm out." Claire refused to help.

"I'll do it, I don't mind getting wet." Saphira said.

"Ok." I replied as she took one side of the sheets from Henry.

I sent Bubba out and he sprayed the sheets down with water. Cleaning most of the foulness off but leaving behind some light pink stains.

"Maybe we can get new sheets from the maker machines." Phoebe suggested.

"It's just a small stain Pheebles, god knows how many other stains are on those sheets." I replied.

Henry dropped them as soon as I said that. Saphira apparently didn't understand what I meant.

"Oh god." He exclaimed in disgust.

"I didn't tell you to use it you did that on your own." I replied, trying not to laugh.

"Let's just get new sheets." Phoebe said.

"Yeah but if we do that Pheebles we'll probably have to find more things." I said.

-2 hours later-

We went back into town and got new sheets after finding the supplies we needed to make them via the maker machine, actually it was just a big square of soft green fabric, but, it was basically the same thing, of course Phoebe chose the color.

On the way back we found Kitty rummaging through an abandoned shop that was mostly full of miscellaneous junk. It turned out that she found one single ring there that didn't even fit her, and figured that there could be more. Phoebe suddenly teleported away along with Saphira before Kitty even noticed she was ever there.

"Go, now, here's your chance." Phoebe said.

"Nope. I'll talk to her, but we're doing this my way." I thought.

"You mean the way that won't work." Phoebe said.

"Pheebles not everything can or needs to be solved by sex." I thought.

"Kitty." I said.

"What do you want?" Kitty apprehensively replied.

"Nothing I just want to talk. Phoebe isn't here." I said.

"What is there to say?" Kitty asked.

"I wish things started differently. We started off wrong, way wrong." I said.

"But it felt good. Really good." Kitty replied.

"Not everything that feels good is good for you in the long run." I said.

"All you have to do is stop asking for sex ok? Just pretend you don't know what sex is, and Phoebe will probably leave you alone." I said.

"But if I don't bring it up how will she know I want it?" Kitty asked.

"She doesn't need to know you want it, it's Pheebles, she'll let us have sex just cause she decided she wants a threesome for no apparent reason." I said. "I've been married to her for four years, she's crazy like that, what happened with you is just the tip."

"And aside from that we need to establish a working, non-sex based friendship, because thanks to her, we're partners and I'm not sure we can ever change that." I said.

"We can't." Kitty replied. "And why would you want too? I'm amazing."

"Yeah you are amazing. You're very powerful, like my baby girl." I replied.

"But, you're not her, and you'll never be her. " I said.

"But we still need you all the same." I said, desperately trying to not sound horrible. "So come back when you're ready, but do your best to stop making Phoebe mad. I need to go now before she starts worrying about me. "

I gave her a hug, then I left the store to find where the hell Phoebe went.

She found me a few minutes later.

"You just couldn't do it could you?" She said, sounding deeply annoyed if not slightly angry.

"There's no way that would work Pheebles, she'll just want more." I said.

"Come on, let's get back to the bus and try our new sheets out." I said.

"Fine." Phoebe replied. " I guess maybe you're right,"

"Well you can't always be right baby girl, relax." I said.

"I know, but, oh Cj." Phoebe sighed.

"I messed so much up and you're still here with me." She said.

"If I wasn't you'd just make a bigger mess." I replied.

"I am a mess." She said.

"Yeah well." I replied. "Let's just get back to the bus and relax ok? We'll snuggle up in bed, and just forget most of this stuff even happened."

"That sounds lovely." She replied.

So we did just that for a while, and it was nice. Everyone else just kind of hung around outside. Not sure what they did to pass the time, but that was allright, I had my baby girl in my arms.

"I wonder what the others are up to?" I said.

"They're not even out there, they all went into the town ten minutes ago, even IceLeomon went." Phoebe replied with a yawn.

"Oh so they just left us here alone?" I asked.

"Yep." Phoebe tiredly replied.

"Oh well, as long as you're here." I said.

"Awwwe Cj I wuv you too." Phoebe amorously replied.

"Well I hope so." I said.

It was a lazy afternoon which led to an even lazier evening. The others spent it gathering some more white digiroot, and by the next morning we were ready to continue westward.
