"You ever think that time might be of the essence?" Mervamon asked.

"Mervamon it would be nice to walk around for a bit." Venusmon said.

"Allright, we'll take a break." Mervamon conceded. "I guess we'll go for a walk then."

"Her real mom is dead and we don't know or even have the slightest clue as to who or what her father is even if he's still alive." Phoebe explained.

"I don't know." Phoebe replied.
"We would have to ask somebody who can fly." Saphy said.
The mechanorimon couldn't even get up that high. In the grand scheme of things, they weren't really that good at flying, just about any avian digimon and even some machine digimon can fly better than they can.
"Where did that harpymon ever get to?" Kitty asked.
"Harpymon?" I asked, unable to remember a harpymon.
"The one with the rings." Kitty said.
"Well that explains how you remember her." I said.
"I remember her too." Phoebe said.
"You remember everything." I replied.
"Mhm." Phoebe agreed. "I don't know where she went Kitty. I just hope she's ok."
"Eh, she wouldn't share any of her rings with me." Kitty replied.
"You couldn't afford them." Phoebe pointed out.
"So?" Kitty asked.
"She sells things as a business, she's not just going to give them to you." Phoebe said.
"But I asked nicely." Kitty said.
"That's not how it works." Phoebe replied.
"So you remember her, but you can't even remember if we had breakfast this morning?" I asked.
"She had rings Cj." Kitty replied.
"I know you like your rings, but really?" I asked.
"Well she was with us for a little while Cj, back when we were trying to find indramon, before the whole portal thing happened. I'm surprised you don't remember her." Phoebe said.
"I don't remember her either." Saphy said.
Well, I guess it has been awhile." Phoebe said.
"Understatement of the year." I added.
"Atleast we're still together." Phoebe said.
"Mhm." I agreed.
We laid there for a while until the goddesses returned from their walk, but eventually it was time to move on and get going again. A couple days later we made it to the clearing where we had split from the rest of the group. As expected, they weren't there but we eventually found the signs Zari put up for us to follow, so we started to follow them for about a day until we came across Zari, the rest of the group, and a lot of digimon. From there we located the nearest clearing to group up in so we could discuss some information.
"It's good to see you're all ok." Phoebe said.
"Thankyou, same here." Zari replied. "So how'd it all go down there?"
"Ok so there wasn't much down there, but we found this dark ruler called aldamon and destroyed him, he didn't have much of an army with him, so it wasn't much of a challenge." I said.
"Ok and what's with these ladies?" Zari asked.
"Well, we found these goddesses that are really strong and want to take down the dark kings just as badly if not more so than we do." I said.
"Of course, you go on an expedition and come back with goddesses." Henry said. "What did you sleep with them all too?"
The goddesses blushed.
"Unbelievable." Henry said.
"Focus you idiot, what's the catch?" Zari asked.
"They want us to lead them to Ophanimon, they have a score to settle with her." I said.
"Wait they're actual goddesses?" Henry asked. "Not just beautiful female digimon?"
"It's the truth." Mervamon said.
"You're not the first to disbelieve, you won't be the last." Dianamon said.
"Can you prove it?" Henry asked.
"Sadly no, we lost power when Ophanimon took over." Mervamon said. "There's seven more of us out there, but we lost touch with them years ago."
"Could they help us too?" Zari asked.
"I'm sure they would be willing, if you can find them and you also lead them to Ophanimon." Mervamon replied.
"You realize if they kill Ophanimon we might never get out of here?" Zari asked.
"Well yeah, but if they kill her then they become the rulers of this world again and presumably gain the power to get us out." I said.
"That's not guaranteed though." Zari said.
"Neither is finding Ophanimon, but those dark kings still need to be brought down." I said.
"Phoebe almost died." Saphy said.
"They don't need to know that." Phoebe pointed out.
"So why do you have an army of digimon now?" I asked.
"They aren't an army, most of them are refugees, there's a huge enemy army in this area taking out all the villages they can find. We were escorting them back south hoping we would eventually run into you." Zari said.
"Is it the Bubblemen?" Phoebe asked.
"I forgot about those guys." Zari said.
"It's not, Volkheim would've made his presence known by now if he had anything to do with it." Henry said.
"So it's probably another dark ruler?" I asked.
"Probably." Henry replied.
"Damn, there was another one here all along." I said.
"What digimon were they that were attacking?" Saphy asked.
"They looked like a bunch of angry plants." Henry said.
"Angry trees and somethings that looked like squeebs with a face." Illustria said.
"Ok so the ruler is probably a plant-type of some sort, we haven't faced one of those yet so it makes sense." I said.
"Veggiemon and woodmon." Ninjamon said.
"What are some mega level plant types?" I asked.
"No idea." Phoebe said.
"I dunno, we haven't been able to get any useful information from the attackers" Zari added.
"Where are they now?" I asked.
"They'll probably reach us by tomorrow." Zari said.
"Allright well we're going to have to start pushing back and keep heading north, we'll probably get their attention and they're either going to keep heading north or seek us out, either way works for us." I said.
"And if we can't?" Zari asked.
"What way are they coming from?" I asked.
"Most from the north east." Zari replied.
"Then we'll just have to go northwest until we can get around them." I said. "Atleast they're just plants."
"Atleast." Zari replied.
"They have a few bugs too." Henry said.
"Nothing we haven't dealt with before." I replied.
"Anyone else have anything they wanna say?" I asked.
"Yes, what about the rookies?" A kabuterimon asked. "They need to get to safety."
"They can go south, to the ashen village, it's still intact, we can take you." Mervamon said.
"We might need you tomorrow." I said. "You and the mechanorimon."
"How far away is it?" Zari asked.
"It's like a five day trip, and that was when we were driving almost nonstop across a barren, mostly flat landscape as fast as the mechanorimon could keep up." I said.
"Cj can go, he knows where it is." Phoebe said. "And saphy can go with him."
"You're just saying that to keep me from fighting aren't you?" I asked.
"It was worth a shot." Phoebe said.
"Wait why do I have to go?" Saphy asked.
"So you two can learn to get along better, and then I can get more acquainted with Kitty."
"So she's part of your thing now?" Zari asked.
"No." I said.
"She wants to be she just won't admit it." Phoebe said.
"Shutup." Saphy said.
"You can't read her mind you can't be sure what she wants." I said.
"Oh really?" Phoebe asked.
"I can go." Venusmon said. "I'm not that great in combat anyway."
"If you go we all go." Mervamon said.
"I'll be fine, there's nothing in that area, we just went through there. I'll just show these poor digimon the way to a safe place where they can start over, and then I'll come back, meanwhile, they'll need you here to help fight through the forces of the dark ruler." Venusmon replied.
"Eh, your powers could come in handy though." I said.
"What powers?" Henry asked.
"All she has to do is show just a little skin and you'll fall in love with her, it's nuts." I said.
"So that's why she's so overdressed." Henry replied.
"Right." I said.
"And if she touches you, well you can figure it out." Phoebe said.
"basically everyone that sees her turns into an gibbering idiot." Saphy said. "They'll be all like "yes venusmon." "I love you venusmon." "You're so pretty venusmon." And the crazy part is she doesn't even have to say anything."
"Must be nice." Claire said.
"Not when you have no control over it and have to wear a coat in the middle of the desert." Venusmon replied.
"Oh, yeah that doesn't sound so great." Claire replied.
"Can, can I see?" Ninjamon asked.
"No, you can't, you don't want to." Venusmon replied.
"Allright so are the newbies allright?" I asked.
"They're all doing fine, last I checked." Zari said.
"And Chally and Iceleomon's wives?" I asked.
"Keeping cool." Zari said.
"Allright then I guess that's our plan, Venusmon will take the refugees to safety tomorrow, and then the rest of us will keep heading north, fighting through this mysterious plant ruler's forces as needed. Now if you don't mind we've been traveling for days and would really like our bus back." I said.
"Yeah I want my car back that bus just smells awful." Henry teased.
"Should have seen the last one." I said, even after all this time, I never forgot that smell.
"I did." Henry replied.
"I mean when we found it." I explained.
"It was full of dead people." Phoebe added.
"Yeah, anyway, your car should be fine it might have gotten a bit more dusty but, well we took it through a desert so." I said.
"That's understandable, did you, um?" Henry struggled to ask.
"That's for us to know and you to maybe never find out." Phoebe replied.
"They didn't, but Kitty was in the back seat most of the time so it probably still smells." Saphy said.
"Hey." Kitty objected.
Phoebe rolled her eyes in un-amusement.
"Okaay." Henry awkwardly replied.
"So um Kabuterimon, are you and the other champions staying with the refugees or are you coming with us?" Zari asked.
"That will be up to themselves to decide, I think I would prefer to stay with the rookies however, to make sure they are safe." Kabuterimon replied.
"Allright, well, we could always use more fighters." I said.
"Anyway I think that covers everything, unless somebody else wants to say something."
A few moments of silence later.
"Allright so Pheebles, Kitty Kat, there's a bed waiting for us." I said.
Kitty made happy noises.
"Right let's go." Phoebe said.
"I'm going to stay out here for a bit." Saphy said.
"Well if you want to join us just come on in." Phoebe said. "I need to take a shower anyway."
The team meeting ended and not even five minutes later I was lying between my girls on our bed that we had been missing so much. Then just when we were about to get comfortable Phoebe got up and decided to take a shower, leaving me to snuggle with Kitty. So I held her close and ran my fingers through her hair, like I would've done with Pheebles if she didn't feel the sudden urge to take a shower. And we just layed there in silence, comfortable and tired and glad to have a bed again. While Phoebe cutely sang in the shower a few feet behind us. Zari came in shortly after.
"Ok so there's about half a dozen big bug guys coming with us, the rest are leaving tomorrow with the refugees." Zari said.
"Allright, sounds good." I replied. " Looks like you held things together pretty well."
"Thanks, but we started to come back this way because we were about to start losing." Zari said.
"Not your fault, we had no idea there was an enemy force so close." I said.
"We're running with the shadows of the night." Phoebe cheerfully sang in the shower.
"Pheebles Zari is here." I yelled.
"Well don't let her leave." She yelled back. "She gets a shower next."
"I took one this morning." Zari said.
"So take another one." Phoebe yelled so she could be heard over the shower. "And then we'll get our nails done and then we'll have some welcome back fun, with my loving husband and our pretty virara and maybe Saphy, if she ever makes up her mind."
"Are you in on this?" Zari asked me.
"Well it's been a few days, so." I replied. "And we missed you, and you've done a great job keeping everyone alive, so. If you want you can come lay here for a bit until Phoebe gets out."

"Yeah, atleast until I find a new boyfriend." Zari replied.
"Don't you dare start yet Cj, not until everyone is ready and we can get Saphy in here." Phoebe yelled..
"What is Saphy even doing right now anyway?" I yelled back. All our yelling was annoying Kitty, but she stayed beside me none the less.
"No idea." Phoebe yelled." I think she's still outside somewhere."
"Did you see her?" I asked Zari.
"I think she's hanging out with the newbies." Zari said.
"Why don't you go try to convince her to join?" Phoebe asked over the sound of the shower.
"You'd probably be better at it, she likes you more." I yelled back.
"True, but you should give it a shot." Phoebe replied.
"But Kitty is snuggling with me right now, If I move she'll be sad." I said.
"Well she can do a lot more than snuggle with you later, so get to it." Phoebe replied.
"No stay here." Kitty said.
"I want to." I said.
"So do it." Kitty insisted. "What is she going to do?"
"Probably get all cute and pissed off." I said.
"You sure that's wise?" Zari asked.
"It's Pheebles, what's she going to do headbutt me again?"
"She headbutted you?" Zari asked.

"Ok fine, but you better not start before I get back." I said.

"So she sent you to come get me?" Saphy asked.
"Yep." I replied. "I told her it was a dumb idea. It makes me wonder if she's really planning something else."
"Like what?" Saphy asked.
"I don't know, maybe she just wants Zari to herself?" I replied.
"She wouldn't do that without telling you, she loves you." Kitty said.
"Yeah, true." I agreed.
"So you want to come or not?" I asked.
"Might as well." Saphy replied, to my amazement as she headed to the bus.
"When do we get to go again?" Illustria asked apparently on behalf of the rest of the newbies.
"No idea, we can only fit so many on the bus." I replied. "You all look great by the way."
"I think maybe we can just drag him into the forest and go right now." Kiera suggested.
"NO! " Kitty objected as she tightly clung to me.
"Well you can come too." Kiera said.
"Phoebe trusts me with him, I can't let that happen she'll get upset." Kitty replied.
"Fine whatever." Kiera replied.
"Can't you ask her?" Illustria asked.
"I don't know, maybe?" I replied. "Don't take it personally it's just things are complicated enough between her and Pheebles. "

"And Saphy and Zari?" Selenia asked.
"Yep." I replied." But they're just friends."
"Aren't we just friends?" Illustria asked.
"Yeah, but we've known them a lot longer." I replied. "Look, this is Pheebles we're talking about, just ask her, "
"Ok. I will." Illustria replied, and with that I headed back to the bus with Kitty trailing behind me.
Phoebe was wearing a clean dress and not much else, talking to Saphy while Zari was now in the shower.
"Oh you're out of the shower now." I said.
"Mhm, all clean and ready for tonight." Phoebe replied as she filed her nails.
"And you got Saphy to join! I knew you could do it!" She said moments later.
"Well it wasn't that hard it just kind of happened." I said.
"Which means she made up her mind." Phoebe said.

"Yeah especially for you." I agreed.
"And Kitty can come with me." I said.
"No." Kitty replied.
"Yeah I would like to give Kitty some special attention." Phoebe said.
"What kind of attention?" Kitty asked.
"What kind do you think?" Phoebe asked.
"I don't know." Kitty said.
"I'll tell you when Cj is in the shower." Phoebe replied.
"Fine." Kitty said.
"And I'm just supposed to stand here and watch?" Saphy asked.
"No, you're supposed to digivolve, sit here and get your nails painted already. Yours don't even grow you don't have to wait around for me to get done filing." Phoebe said.
"Pheebles you don't have to be so pushy." I said while Saphy digivolved.
"Cj it's the first time we've had sex in a while it needs to be perfect." Phoebe said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because it's like a party, it shouldn't be a disaster." Phoebe said.
"Pheebles I get it but just calm down ok?" I said. "Or I'm calling the whole thing off."
"But Cj." She objected.
"I'll just go sleep outside with the others, Kitty will probably even come with me." I said.
"Of course I will." Kitty added.
"You're my virara too you know?" Phoebe asked.
"Yeah but I'm still her tamer." I said.
"Mhm." Kitty agreed.
"So calm down Pheebles, it's not that hard." I said.
"Ok, but you're still taking a shower." She said.
"Well duh." I replied. "You think I like being like this?"
"I just need to know things are still going according to plan." She said.
"Well they are, so relax." I replied.
"Phoebe I need some help with my other hand." Saphy said.
"Oh, you did your fingers first, ok." Phoebe replied.
"Is that ok?" Saphy asked.
"Yeah it's fine." Phoebe replied.
"Zari are you almost done?" Phoebe asked.
"Yeah, I'll get out." Zari said.
Zari got out of the shower, I looked away out of respect while she threw some clothes on.
"It's your turn now Cj. Take your time I'll come get you when we're ready for you." Phoebe said.
I showered for a stupidly long time, thankfully the shower defied the laws of physics and had an infinite water supply. Until she came in butt-naked with her toes freshly painted. I quickly, but gently pulled her in the shower with me.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Well I need to finish getting ready and I need you to help me." I said. "You're my wife, not them, I just want some private time with you."
"Ok fine, you want to do it this way we'll do it this way." She agreed before she kissed me and we started to make out.
"They're totally starting without us." Saphy said.
"Does that surprise you at all?" Zari asked.
"Yes." Kitty said.
"Not really." Saphy replied.
"They better not forget we're out here." Kitty said.
"That means I did my nails for nothing." Saphy said.
"Do you need a reason to look great?" Zari asked.
"No, but, you really think they look ok?" Saphy asked.
"Yeah they look pretty good." Zari said.
"It was the second time I did it myself Phoebe helped me the last time." Saphy said. "But I lose it if I change form so it won't last as long as yours will."
"Well that's kind of a bummer." Zari said.
-a minute or so later-
"Ok Cj you're hard now we shouldn't keep them waiting." Phoebe said as we held each other close in that tiny little shower.
"I'll kick them all out tomorrow we'll have the morning to ourselves." Phoebe said.
"I won't have any energy left by then." I replied.
"Well take it easy tonight and you will." Phoebe said.
"You know I'd trade a hundred nights like this just to have one perfect night with you." I said.
"You're just saying that because we haven't had a whole night together in a while because we just got back." Phoebe said.
"Maybe." I said.
"You know I'm right." She said.
"Maybe." I replied.
"Let's just go out there before you get soft again." Phoebe said as she took my hand, opened the shower door and led me out to the others where things only got hotter and heavier.
