"I moved a lot of munitions, medical supplies, and other things around, occasionally had to look out for pirates, occasionally had fighter escorts, occasionally had to get pretty close to the front lines. " I said.

"Did you ever get shot at?" Phoebe asked.

"There was one time we got into this huge fire fight, we had three fighter escorts and we got attacked by like 7 pirate fighters that as usual were stupidly fast and way overclocked, but fragile without much shielding. Anyway, the fighters start fighting and eventually our shields got down to about ten percent, we didn't have enough power to keep running the turret, the escorts were dead, we didn't have enough power to jump any useful distance away. And this asshole, who is pissed as hell because all his buddies just got killed is just sitting behind us, pounding away at what was left of the shields." I said.

"But you survived." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, another frigate jumped in just in time and lit that fucker up." I said. "It just popped up on radar and not even a second later we see this fricking huge ball of plasma on the rear camera, just fucking erased the dude from existence, ship and all. We rendezvoused with them, they gave us more fuel cells, and escorted us the rest of the way to the base while our shields recharged."

"Another minute and I wouldn't be here right now and Kitty would be floating out in space somewhere in that other universe." I said.

"That's sounds like an adventure." Phoebe said.

"Eh, it was more of a job." I said. "We didn't really do much exploring, it was just, space, and more space, sometimes we'd pass by a planet, or a moon, most of the bases we were sent to were built pretty similarly, as well as all the ships. Sometimes they'd come up with a new missile and we'd be the ones to get to equip the rest of the fleet with them. There were a handful of ships we were charged with supplying on a regular basis, carriers, destroyers, larger frigates, planetary assault ships, all of which are long gone now, they got replaced by the next newest class or whatever. Or they got turned into museums, or even small outposts." I said.

"So what happens when we get back Cj?" Phoebe asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Are we going to keep working for Devon Co?" Phoebe asked.

"Once we get back we're taking a very long break and we're heading to Sinnoh so you can see your parents." I said. "I don't know what we'll do after that, I don't want to think about it."

"Ok." Phoebe replied.

"You think we can get them to pay us for 100 years of work?" I asked.

"I don't know, that's a good question though." Phoebe replied. "I don't think they would that would be we'd never have to worry about money ever again. Neither would Charley or Nina, or our grandbabies if they ever have them."

"Yeah, it'd probably just end in some sort of settlement deal." I said.

We checked on the rest of the team, and pretty much just waited for everyone to be ready to leave. Zari running around with Kiera and Selenia, the goddesses were guarding the gates, Ninjamon was supposedly guarding as well, but was mostly just pestering them. And everyone else was still asleep, aside from the mechanorimon who were just standing around in a circle. They seemed to desire very little aside from attempting to do what they're told, rarely speaking unless spoken to, and I can't even remember the last time I've ever seen them speaking amongst themselves. Though they could possibly be communicating through radio signals or something. It was impossible to know what they were thinking or if they were even thinking at all. Despite their intelligence they all resembled a machine that looked like it was made in the 50s, with chrome plating everywhere. Though they were a machine in appearance only, under the hood they were another digimon, and all the physics defying silliness that comes with that.

Anyway, it was another long boring day, not much of interest happened. We fought maybe half the enemies we had to fight the day before, so most of the time we were just riding around on the bus. The enemy got a little smarter and actually waited for us to leave the village before jumping out and attacking instead of just charging at the walls, but it didn't help them much in the end. Things didn't get interesting until we made it to the next village.

"Guys I think I can see the next village up ahead." Zari said.

"Really?" A bored Saphy asked.

"Man we made it here already and it's not even dark yet." I said as we came upon the village walls.

"We're running out of enemies, we didn't have to spend so much time fighting anymore." Phoebe pointed out.

"True." I replied.

"So are you ready to make it up to Chally and Zari now?" Phoebe asked.

"Let's get settled in for the night first. Or atleast check this place out and make sure there's no enemies hanging around inside." Zari said.

"Yeah that's probably a better decision." Chally said." Anyway if we do this do I have to find a house for the night or can I just stay on the bus?" Chally asked.

"If you're with us you can stay on the bus but you have to do naughty things." Phoebe said.

We were going to explore the village, and generally settle in for the night, among other things, but a strange digimon we hadn't even seen before was already waiting for us just passed the gate. Phoebe saw her before anyone else and teleported us away from the gate.

"What the? What gives Pheebles?" I asked as my surrounding suddenly changed.

"Guys don't go in it's a trap!" Phoebe yelled to Henry, Claire, Chally, and Zari, who were following us in, while the newbies and goddesses landed further inside the walls.

"What?" Zari asked as they all ran back over to us.

"She's not attacking Phoebe, I don't think it's supposed to be a trap." Saphy said.

"She?" I asked.

"Another digimon." Phoebe said.

"Good, you're here." The mysterious digimon said, revealing herself to the rest of the group after taking a moment to comprehend Phoebe's teleportation.

"Who are you?" Phoebe asked as I fumbled around in my pocket for my digivice.

"Should I attack her?" Kitty asked, who was still right next to her along with Saphy.

"We don't even know if she's evil yet." Saphy said.

"So you know who the dark ruler is?" Phoebe asked.

"They sent me to destroy you." Darkvioletmon said.

"And?" I asked.

"I think she knows that Kitty." Saphy said.

"It wouldn't be your death if you managed to defeat us." IceLeomon said.

"Yeah." Ninjamon agreed.

"Shut up, both of you." Zari replied.

"Yeah, what are you trying to do?" Henry asked.

"I've been looking for a good fight all day." IceLeomon said, prompting one of his wives to go up and whisper something to him.

"Shhhhh, remember Glugansee?" She said, apparently referring to some person or event from their past. Whatever it was it got through to him.

"You may be right dear, this might be one of those times." Iceleomon replied.

"It is." His other wife said.

"What's Glugansee, I'm bored." Ninjamon said, prompting a cacophony of "shutups".

"And your deal is?" I asked.

"Leave me alone, I'll take you to her." DarkVioletmon said.

"No deal!" IceLeomon said.

"Yeah." Ninjamon said.

"Shut up." Said nearly everyone else.

"That sounds too good to be true." Phoebe said.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"I really wish I could read her mind." Phoebe said.

"Yep." I agreed.

"I believe her." Kitty said.

"I don't buy it, she'll probably just lead us into a trap." Zari said.

"Me neither." Henry replied.

"Yep." Challana agreed.

"We're going to need to talk about this." Phoebe said.

We all huddled together to discuss what to do.

"So everyone but Kitty thinks this is some sort of trap?" I asked.

"Yep." Henry replied.

"Pretty much." Phoebe said.

"If she wanted to hurt us she would have tried to by now." Kitty said.

"You don't understand the concept of a trap do you?" Henry asked.

"Yeah they catch dumb animals, we're not dumb animals." Kitty said.

"I kind of remember that actually, the trailmon terminal." I said.

"I don't remember." Zari said.

"Enough reminiscing what are we going to do about her?" Claire asked.

"On the one hand, it could be and probably is a trap, on the other, she's our only lead on the dark ruler. So I say we follow her, but stay out of big buildings, and basically always have someone keep an eye on her and for the love of god Pheebles keep your hands off of her." I said.

"I think we can't just expect it to be another building for starters." Zari said.

"She could just be trying to lead us far away from where the ruler actually is." Henry said.

"Everything you've said pertaining to this situation makes sense to me." Saphy chimed in.

"Allright good, nice to know you're on the same page." Phoebe replied.

"Do they even know we have them?" I asked.

"I don't think they know and even if they did they wouldn't bother going after them now. They would have been of use to them to help them establish power" Saphy said. "But now that we've defeated so many of them they're all gathering up north to resurrect deusmon. The statues aren't really worth the time or effort it takes for them to find anymore."

"Um guys what's going on? Who is this?" Illustria asked as her and the other newbies arrived at the gate.

"Did you see anybody else in there?" Phoebe asked.

"No, but the true holy Mervamon is still looking. " Illustria said.

"Oookay." Phoebe replied.

"I swear they're worse than I was 6 years ago." Illustria continued to elaborate.

"When you were still wealthy?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah before the zealots from the church of the seven gods ruined everything." Illustria said.

The church of the seven gods was a cult that basically assigned and worshipped a god for each of the seven deadly sins, (though they are never referred to as such, the concepts that each god represents are basically the same, instead of sins the cult believes they are all the driving forces of all sentient beings). These gods were supposedly incarnated as 7 humanoids of the same species as Illustria. Who were interestingly enough septuplets, an occurrence rare enough that, when combined with their father's charisma, attracted followers. The cult was primarily founded by their father who at one point was a respected noble, turned high priest, which basically translates to puppet master of her home planet, the kids of course, being considered gods, are what the local government claims as their rulers, though they pretty much just do whatever their father suggests. The kids were all raised to believe in this nonsense from birth and are unable to accept any other destiny for themselves. They were also raised specifically to display the traits of the gods they are supposedly the incarnate forms of, they were made aware of each other, but kept in near isolation. To sum things up, their father was a raging narcissistic psychopath that tormented each of his kids in different ways in order to cash in on the miracle of their birth, and the saddest part is it worked, a war was started, and most of the rest of the nobility that didn't agree with him were faced with either death or exile. Which was how Illustria ended up on that station, and also why she was so willing to join us. Sadly this all happened before we met her of course, and with Deusmon slowly consuming the universe, there wasn't near enough time to set things right.

"So who is this?" Illustria asked again.

"Darkvioletmon, she's apparently the enemy lieutenant for all these plant guys." I said.

"And she's not attacking us because?" Illustria asked.

"Because she doesn't want to die supposedly and wants to lead us to the dark ruler that she's supposed to be working for instead." I explained.

"Awe well, it's obviously some sort of trap." Illustria said. "Or she could just be trying to lead us away from where the dark ruler actually is."

"Yep, everyone else agrees." I replied.

"I still don't think it is." Kitty said.

"Yeah, well, you're you." Phoebe said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kitty asked.

"It means you trust her way too much." Phoebe said.

"I don't trust her she's works for the enemy." Kitty said.

"Yet you trust her enough to believe she's not just going to lead us into a trap." Phoebe said as the other newbies arrived.

"Who is she and why is everyone all huddled together?" Selenia asked.

"Wait till the goddesses get here then we'll fill you all in at once." Henry said.

"Yeah Cj will fill you in real good." Phoebe said.

"The goddesses are searching the village, they won't be here for a while." Illustria said.

"Have you made up your minds yet?" Darkvioletmon asked. "You should take her out before she re-unites with the others.

"We'll follow you, but we have to stop to change drivers every few hours." I said. "As well as when it gets too dark to navigate. Everyone in agreement?"

Everyone nodded, even Kitty.

Darkvioletmon proceeded forward without saying a word.

"Allright everyone else, I guess we're following her, but keep your eyes peeled and stay sharp. Lussy, go fill the goddesses in on this." I said.

"Ok, fine." Illustria replied.

"Cj it's only going to be a couple hours or so until the sun goes down. We might as well stop here for the day so the others can have houses to sleep in." Phoebe pointed out.

"We'll put it to a vote." I said.

"We're staying here for the night." Henry said, followed by Zari, Claire, the newbies, IceLeomon's wives, IceLeomon and finally Ninjamon seconding him, in that order.

"We should probably make the most of the light we have, but I'm hopelessly out voted at this point so." Saphy said.

"I don't care one way or the other." Kitty said.

"Yeah we probably shouldn't even get a vote we have a bus." I said.

"The goddesses will probably want to keep going." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, but still, they're outvoted." I said.

"Ok I'll go tell them we're staying here for the night. " Illustria said.

"Allright." I said. "Also tell them about her and have them keep an eye on her tonight so she won't run off or try to attack us when we're asleep or something."

"Ok." Illustria replied.

Darkvioletmon heard me but just stood there and smiled.

We had no other leads, so even if I t was a trap, it was still worth taking the risk.

"There's no way she's telling the truth this has to be some sort of trick." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, I'm starting to think she might just be planning to lead us in the opposite direction, away from the ruler." I replied.

"Yep." I agreed.

"So, I guess it's time for us to make it up to those two." Phoebe said.

"Eh it can wait for a little while can't it." I said.
