75. Chapter 75

-chapter 75-

I woke up snuggling with my baby girl, in the back of the bus. I kissed her sweet little neck, and waited paitiently for her to wake up, when she did, she turned around to face me, which to me looked absolutely adorable. I guess I just woke up in one of those moods where she's suddenly the cutest thing ever. As I layed next to her, I wondered if she ever felt that way about me.

"Of course I do." She tiredly replied seconds after the thought entered my mind.

"Are you reading my mind?" I asked.

"How else am I going to check to see if you're awake without opening my eyes?" She asked before turning around and kissing me.

"Goodmorning Cj." She said.

I promptly kissed her back.

"Morning baby girl." I said.

"Did you hypnotize me last night?" I asked.

"Yeah, sorry, I was tired, and we both needed to sleep." She said.

"Eh that's fine." I replied.

I don't know how I found the self-control to not kiss her a million more times.

"Who else is in here this morning?" She asked, turning around again before I could even think to give in to my desires.

"I don't know, I've mostly just been watching you sleep." I replied, awkwardly.

"Goofball." She replied before sitting up to take a look around.

"Saphy, Selly, Lussy, and Zari." She said before laying back down.

"Oh and Kittie is right over there." Phoebe said.

"She did it again? Really?" I asked.

"Well atleast she's not in our bed this time, oh, well, I won't let it bother me today." She said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Nah, it is what it is, it's not worth getting angry over, it's just because she loves you and I love you so there can't be anything wrong with that." She continued as she snuggled up to me.

"Why are you so cute this morning?" I asked.

"I don't know, I'm not doing anything that different am I? It's not because I hypnotized you if that's what you're thinking, that was just to help you sleep." Phoebe said.

"Maybe I just don't notice how cute you are every morning." I said.

"Maybe you're just getting used to waking up next to me again." Phoebe said as she pressed her soft, but cold feet firmly against my thighs.

"Just now though? We've been back together for weeks, months maybe even." I said.

"Well sometimes that stuff takes a while."She insisted.

"I don't know baby, all I know is you look really cute to me right now and I just wanna hold you and kiss you and love you and squeeze you." I said.

"Why don't we do that in that shower, before anyone else wakes up and wants to take one?" She asked.

-twenty minutes later-

We quietly got out of the shower to find Kitty had taken over our bed.

"I take it you want to snuggle with Cj too?" Phoebe asked as she noticed her while retrieving her clothes from the floor.

"Mhm." Kitty replied, tiredly.

"That's fine, but we're getting dressed first." Phoebe said.

"Ok." Kitty replied.

So we got dressed and we snuggled with her in the bed for a while.

"Morning Kitty." I said.

"good morning husband." She replied before kissing me on the head.

"Good morning sister." She said before moving to kiss Phoebe as well.

"Do you think Pheebles looks cuter than normal today?" I asked, playfully.

"I don't know." She replied.

"Maybe you're cuter than normal." Phoebe said.

"How would I know?" Kitty asked.

"I think you are." Phoebe said, trying to be nice.

"Yeah, you're both extra cute today for some reason." I said, trying to keep them both happy.

"Really?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah." I said before quickly kissing them both on their cheeks.

"What are we going to do now?" I asked, mostly Pheebles, I didn't really expect Kitty to answer.

"You want to go outside?" Phoebe suggested.

"Not really, unless we have to." I replied, since it was cold out there.

"We're going to have to, when everyone else is up and wants to shower." Phoebe pointed out.

"I know, but until then, I just want to lay here with my cuties." I replied.

"I think you're cute too.' Kitty said.

"Yeah, he's the cutest." Phoebe added before playfully kissing me on the cheek.

"I just want to pinch his wittle cheeks." Phoebe continued.

"ow Pheebles." I exclaimed in annoyance.

"And his wittle nose." She continued as she playfully grabbed my nose.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Embarrassing you." She replied, playfully.

"In front of Kitty?" I asked.

"It's still fun regardless of the audience, even if there is no audience at all." Phoebe replied, mischievously.

"Mhm." Kitty agreed.

"Kitty what's an audience?" I asked, knowing her answer would be good for a few laughs.

"Um, it's a bus that takes hurt people to the, um, place where the doctors are." She attempted to explain but completely missed the mark.

"Um, Kitty Kat, that's an ambulance, not an audience." Phoebe said.

"Audience, ambulance." Kitty said.

"Yep, they're two completely different words." I said.

"I guess they are. Oh well." She said.

"I bet people get those confused a lot right?" She asked.

"Eheeeeeeeeh, no, sorry babe, you're the first I've ever seen." I replied.

"Awwe." She said, disappointed.

"Don't worry, Cj still loves you." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, that's true." I agreed.

"And you?" Kitty asked.

"We've been over this before." Phoebe said.

"Well now you're not acting as cute." I said.

"We've been over this before too Cj." Phoebe said.

"That's ok I don't care if you love me anyway. I love Cj." Kitty said.

"I know you do, but I love him too." Phoebe said.

"Allright, why don't we get out of here and go for a walk before you two start fighting?" I asked.

"Ok." Phoebe said.

So we got up, got ready and headed outside to walk through the snow, in a loose circle around the camp. More just for something to do than to really accomplish anything in particular, there wasn't much out here but snow and evergreen trees. The campfire was still burning, keeping everyone that had to sleep outside somewhat warm during the bitterly cold nights. The complete lack of wind kept things from getting too cold, even though there was snow on the ground.

"Why did we come out here? It's cold." Kitty said.

"Just to keep you two happy and occupied." I said.

"With what? There's nothing out here." Kitty pointed out.

"You want to make a snowman?" Phoebe asked.

"What's a snowman?" Kitty asked.

"It's a man made out of snow." I said.

"Oh." Kitty replied.

"And the snow is too powdery to make one." I said.

"I know, I just realized that after I said it." Phoebe replied.

"Why is it too powdery?" Kitty asked.

"Because it won't stick together, you can't make anything out of it." I said.

"Oh." Kitty said.

"You can make things out of snow?" She asked seconds later like it was some kind of grand discovery.

"Not when it's like this, but yeah." I said.

"Can you make, a bed?" She asked.

"You can just sleep in the snow." I said.

"But it's cold." She replied.

"A bed made out of it isn't going to be any warmer." I said.

"What about a chair then?" She asked.

"Um, maybe." I replied. It could be packed into something resembling a chair, not that it's a particularly great idea.

"Your big fluffy butt will get cold." Phoebe chimed in.

"Yeah you're better off just using logs." I said.

"A table?" She asked.

"Maybe." I replied. Thinking it could be made in a similar manner to a chair.

"Your food will get cold." Phoebe chimed in.

"Spoons?" She asked.

"No Kitty Kat, that's not how it works." I said, knowing that would be completely impossible.

"But they're smaller." Kitty said.

"That has nothing to do with it." I replied.

"That's exactly why you can't."Phoebe said.

"Because my hands will get cold?" She asked.

"No, because compacted snow doesn't have the tensile strength to form an object that small." I said.

"What the heck is that supposed to mean?" Kitty asked.

"If you tried to make one it'd just fall apart, it's not possible." I said.

"They're too small." Phoebe added.

"Oh." Kitty replied. "So no knives or forks either?"

"Right, you're figuring it out." I said.

"What if you made a big one?" Kitty asked.

"It still wouldn't have the strength to be useful. Look Kitty, basically, you can make walls, blocks and balls out of snow, and various decorative sculptures, but that's about it." I said.

"And snowmen." Kitty said.

"Yeah, most snowmen are just made by stacking multiple large snowballs on top of each other." I said.

It never snowed on Paloran, and before that when we were working for the U.S.C where we were rarely planet-side, we didn't have much of an opportunity to experience snow either. Chally's home planet was covered in snow, but while we were there it was way too cold to do much of anything, thus Kitty had very little if any experience with the stuff. All the snow in the digital world was in a perpetual powdery state and completely useless for sculpting, not to mention that it seemed to reset every few hours.

"So why do people make snowmen?" Kitty asked moments later.

"Just for something to do in the snow." I said.

"Yeah pretty much. They're kind of like a decoration." Phoebe agreed.

"I see." She replied.

"And you can give them clothes and a face and then they just kind of sit there until they eventually melt away." Phoebe said.

"Well that's kind of sad." Kitty said.

"Kind of." Phoebe replied.

"Hey Cj where are we going exactly?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know, we're just walking around in circles I guess. There's not really anywhere to go out here. You two looked like you were about ready to have an argument so I thought it would be good to get moving." I replied.

"Well why didn't you just bring me out here then and let her sleep?" Phoebe asked.

"She came too, and not letting her come would've just given you more to fight about wouldn't it?" I said.

"I guess so." Phoebe said.

"But we're not fighting." Kitty said.

"I know, isn't it nice?" I said.

"Mhm." She agreed.

"It's allright." Phoebe said.

"You know I feel really safe when you two are getting along?" I said trying to win Phoebe over, but she was having none of it.

"You also feel safe right before you get hurt, so that doesn't mean much." Phoebe replied.

A bunch of icicles came crashing down in front of us a moment later.

"What the hell?" I asked, unhurt, but sort of caught off guard.

"Frostwyvernmon, in the sky!" Phoebe said.

"Only two of them?" I asked as I looked up and saw them.

"They must be scouting things out." Phoebe said.

"Possibly." I replied.

"It's looks like they're already flying away. I can't catch them now they're too fast." Phoebe said.

"Yeah that means they're going for reinforcements and we need to get moving." I said.

"Yes. Let's get everyone up, they're sitting ducks." Phoebe said.

"Kitty go wake everyone up on the bus, we'll get everyone out here." I said.

"Ok." Kitty replied before heading off back towards the bus.

So we went around and frantically woke everyone up and we were all packed up and on the move not even 15 minutes later, before the enemy forces could arrive. This meant that nobody else got a chance to shower that morning, but it was little consequence compared to what could've happened if we stuck around. Chally and Zari decided to go and take a shower anyway while we were moving, as Phoebe and Saphy attempted to resist the urge to ogle them so they could be on the lookout, while Kitty lazily slept in the bed, and Darkvioletmon quietly stared out the window. The mechanorimon were still leading the way, while IceLeomon was doing most of the navigating, though it had been a long time since he had been up here, so we still had no idea where we were most of the time.

"I don't see anything Cj, just some big red balloons." Phoebe said.

"Are you talking about my breasts?" Zari asked.

"Mhm." Phoebe said.

"Weirdo." Zari said.

"You should make out with Chally in the shower." Phoebe playfully suggested.

"Yeah, no." Zari replied.

"It would save time, and you could leave the door open and we could watch." Phoebe said.

"You realize she only showers with the water at room temperature?" Zari asked.

"So?" Phoebe asked.

"So it's not even remotely warm." Zari replied.

"It will make your nipples perk up more." Phoebe teased.

"Pheebles, why are you picking on Zari?" I asked while Zari was speechless.

"Because she's just standing here topless waiting for Chally to get out of the shower, and it's the hottest thing we've seen for a while, since we can't mess around anymore." Phoebe said.

"Mhm." Saphy agreed.

"Both of you are supposed to be keeping a lookout. Also Pheebles when we switch drivers your tits are mine." I said, pretty much just to tease her.

"No that's not how this works. And we can't do that because we're on high alert." Phoebe said.

"Not mine?" Saphy asked.

"You're not my wife, you can stare at Zari all you want." I said.

"Well that's between you two, you can work that out." I said.

"I'm also the only one driving the bus right now." I pointed out.

"Well even if you weren't you still can't anyway!" Phoebe said.

"Why are you being so loud? I'm trying to sleep here." Kitty asked, somewhat annoyed, but she just got ignored.

"I know, I'm going to be too busy messing with yours." I said to Phoebe.

"No you're not, you know what that does to me, I can't let you." Phoebe said

"You can try, but you'll fail." I said.

"Noooo!" She cutely protested.

"Doesn't it limit her powers when her boobs are at their full size?" Zari asked.

"Yeah." I replied.

"Mhm, almost by 80 percent." Phoebe said.

"So it's probably not the best idea then." Zari said.

"It's not, it's really not, it takes too long to wear off too." Phoebe said.

"I know, I'm just teasing her. We just do that sometimes." I admitted.

"I thought so." Zari replied.

"You big Meany." Phoebe said.

"Ok, now I'm being serious." I said.

"Noooo!" Phoebe cutely protested.

"Cj stop, she's keeping me awake." Kitty protested.

"Maybe I'll just rub your tits instead then." I said.

"That's ok." Kitty replied.

"You need my permission." Phoebe said.

"Then I guess I'm back to playing with yours." I said.

"No, Cj!" Phoebe exclaimed as she was starting to get annoyed with me which meant it was about time to start backing off.

"Oh allright Pheebles. The fighting we might have to do is more important." I said.

"Yes it is, you goofball and you know I can't fight like that, so yeah." She replied.

"I know baby, I wouldn't put you at risk like that, you know it." I said.

"I know, you just want to push my buttons." She replied.

"Cause you're so cute when you get flustered like that." I said.

"Well so are you." She replied.

"Zari you know if she ever gets on your nerves you can just ... " I began to say.

"NONONONONONONONONONONONONONO! You are not telling her about that." Phoebe freaked out.

"What?" Zari asked.

"I'll just have to tell you when she's not here." I said.

"Oh that is never happening. You are not telling her or anyone else, never ever ever." Phoebe said.

"Do you know what they're going on about?" Zari asked Kitty.

"I think so, but I really shouldn't tell you, she's my sister, and I don't want her getting all up in my face about it, I'm trying to sleep." Kitty said.

"Good Kitty Kat." Phoebe said.

"You've been trying to sleep since we started moving." Zari said.

"Well what else is there to do since we can't mess around anymore?" Kitty asked.

"You can watch movies, we have a tv." Phoebe said.

"I'll just fall asleep watching them anyway." Kitty said.

"You can tell me her secret." Zari said.

"Don't." Phoebe said.

"No, I won't." Kitty replied.

"Well, Zari, you see, she has a ." I began to say.

"No Cj, shh, shut up, bad Cj, very very bad." Phoebe interrupted me.

"Oh you know I'm just teasing you, you cute little gardevoir." I said.

"Yeah, but still, bad Cj." She insisted.

The day went on, the girls finished showering, there was no sign of the enemy yet, but now there were some mountains in the distance, the newbies located another village, so we stopped there for a while to explore, exercise, and change drivers. There wasn't much to set it apart from any of the other villages we had come across, and like so many others it was empty and abandoned, but at this point that wasn't surprising anymore, and could be expected especially with the lack of any sort of fortification. Just a few more mushrooms to add to our supplies was really all it had to offer.

"OK, doesn't look like there's much to see here, let's just round up a few supplies and get going." I said.

"Actually Cj, let's go see if we can find a house that wasn't lived in by an ice digimon." Phoebe said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Maybe they'll have more cabbages inside because they came from further away?" Phoebe said. "I like them more than the mushrooms."

"Ok, this far north though?" I said.

"Well there's a chance." Phoebe said.

"Ehhhh, I'm not really buying your reasoning this time Pheebles. We haven't seen cabbages for days, there's barely any digiroots up here." I said.

"And we have plenty of them don't we?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah, that too." I said.

"Can we go anyway, just for something to do?" She asked.

"Ok fine." I agreed.

"Can I come too?" Kitty asked.

"Of course." Phoebe replied.

"Saphy you want to, oh she's already walking off with Zari and Chally." Phoebe said, realizing the reality halfway through.

"Allright then let's go." Phoebe said.

"How do we know if an Ice digimon wasn't living there?" I asked as we made our way into the village.

"I was thinking it would have a pipe for a stove coming up through the roof or something." Phoebe said.

"Eh maybe." I said.

"Or a chimney, some sign of a heating system, an Ice digimon wouldn't need those would it?" Phoebe said.

"Maybe, what if they have non-ice guests though?" I asked.

"I don't know." Phoebe said.

"Maybe they just have space heaters and no stoves?" I asked.

"Yeah, I think I've seen a few around, actually we should probably look for those, some might still be running. I think the wood stoves are more common though." Phoebe said.

"I don't know, I never really noticed. Anyway what does that matter if it's running or not, the bus already has a heater?" I asked.

"There's no electricity bill here." Kitty chimed in.

"Well, I guess now that we're far enough away from the others, I thought we could have some alone time, and if there's a house here with a heater that's still running, that means it will be warm, and that means we can have some real fun." Phoebe said.

"I should've known, I knew that stuff you said about the cabbages made no sense." I replied.

"Well I had to come up with a reason on the fly." Phoebe said.

"Not really, we're bored enough you could of just said it was something to do." I said.

"Mhm." Kitty agreed.

"Yeah well, I didn't know that would work until it did." Phoebe said.

"Anyway Cj, if we find a warm house, you can rub my boobs like you wanted too earlier." She said a few seconds later.

"I was just teasing you." I said.

"Well now I'm teasing you." Phoebe replied before playfully kissing me on the cheek.

"And I'm just supposed to watch?" Kitty asked.

"As I tease him? Kind of, yeah." Phoebe said.

"No as you make sweet love in that warm little house." Kitty said.

"No Kitty Kat of course not, you can play too, otherwise I wouldn't have let you come with us." Phoebe said.

"Really?" Kitty asked.

"Mhm, but you have to keep it a secret from the others." Phoebe kindly replied.

"I can do that." Kitty replied.

"Good, now it's two against one." Phoebe said before glaring at me.

" I never said I was against it." I replied.

"Yeah, but you usually are." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, but, we're all really bored, so why not? I love you girls, if you want some quick fun that's fine with me." I said.

"Oh Cj, I'm so glad we see eye to eye." Phoebe replied.

"Just keep your clothes on until we find a place." I said.

"Well, duh, it's freezing out here." Phoebe replied.

Not quite an hour later we were all lying naked on the floor of this unfamiliar house on some undersized bedsheets, with an undersized blanket barely covering us.

"That was really fun, I just wish we had more of a blanket." Phoebe said.

"I wish we could've all fit in the bed." I replied.

"Yeah, that just wasn't going to happen." Phoebe replied.

"You know we probably shouldn't stay here very long." I said.

"I know." Phoebe said.

"This was nice, but, we spend too much time here the others will start looking for us." I said.

"I know, don't worry, just relax." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, just relax Cj everything will be ok." Kitty said.

"As much as I'd love to spend the rest of the day on this floor with you two, we really should get dressed and get going." I said.

"I know, I just don't want too." Phoebe said.

"Me neither." Kitty added.

"And we're not letting you get up either." Phoebe said.

"Really?" I asked as she wrapped her arms around me.

"Mhm." She replied.

"And if we get caught?" I asked.

"Would it really be that shocking to them?" Phoebe asked.

"That doesn't make it any less awkward." I replied.

"Oh Cj, we just want a few more minutes, quit being silly." Phoebe said.

"I'm not sure if we have a few more minutes Pheebles, it's been almost an hour since we left the bus. besides we can snuggle all night if you want or hell if we switch drivers we can snuggle as soon as we get back on the bus." I said.

"Ok that sounds good." Kitty replied.

"Wait, Kitty Kat, does he promise though?" Phoebe playfully asked.

"I don't know does he?" Kitty asked, cutely.

"Well you have to be sure Kitty." Phoebe said.

"Yes I promise." I said.

"Ok then let's get dressed." Phoebe said.

She sensually kissed me one more time before getting up.

Several minutes later we were dressed and quietly making our way back to the vehicles. Henry, Claire, Lussy, and Kiera were already waiting for everyone else, along with the mechanorimon who had little interest in exploring, and DarkVioletmon, who apparently never left the bus. Everyone else arrived within the next 15 minutes or so and we were just about to leave when the mechanorimon started to fly off on their own. As despite their clumsiness they managed to spot an approaching enemy airborne group of Frostwyvernmon and IceDevidramon.

It seemed that somebody was smart enough to think we might end up here.

Unlike the scouts we saw that morning who were only looking for us and not interested in sticking around to fight, but likely just wanted to give away our location to larger, less mobile groups, these guys meant business. Normally this wouldn't be much of a problem, but now they were assisted by what looked like a squadron of jetfighters, which turned out to be a lot, possibly hundreds, of shadowtoyagumon, which became evident when a few of them dived straight to the ground only to change into tanks. They had to be part of Marionamon's army, either what was left of it or what she managed to rebuild from the data of the populace after she escaped. These annoying toy-themed rookies can freely combine their bodies into tanks and other military vehicles or even giant dinosaurs, with the drawback being they aren't nearly as durable as the real thing, as despite being able to act anomalously like the vehicles they resemble, they are made completely out of plastic. Probably the most lethal rookie next to commandramon, provided they have numbers on their side. On their own they're not much stronger than a normal agumon or any other rookie for that matter, but once there's upwards of ten of them they start being able to take forms that can threaten champions, same goes for any other toyagumon variant.

Their jet forms notably lacked missiles and occasionally strafed us with what seemed to be machine-gun fire with plastic bullets of an unknowable caliber. While the tanks were quickly rushed by the mechanorimon before the newbies could even get in them, their cannons did a number on the robotic digimon, but plastic shells can only hit so hard, and they managed to close the gap, a few punches from them broke up the tanks and sent toyagumon flying everywhere. Defeating a handful of them. So they split up again and formed a single, large robot instead. This form gave the mechanorimon a lot more trouble despite lacking projectile weapons entirely and only using punches, kicks, and stomps.

At that point the rest of our group started to take action, I distributed the weapons, the firing team, including ninjamon, Chally, and Iceleomon's wives this time, took cover inside some of the nearby structures, Phoebe got her shurikens out, Iceleomon and the goddesses ran out to fight the giant robot, the digibabes digivolved before heading out there as well. We pulled some of the mechanorimon back as the stronger digimon took over things on the ground so the newbies could climb inside and start dealing with the airborne problems. After nearly everyone else had gotten involved in the fighting, DarkVioletmon moseyed out of the bus and started to take part as well, slowly, but atleast without being asked this time. The robot towered over everything in sight and was a bit difficult to fight, despite being larger, its movements weren't nearly as clunky as the mechanorimon's. Its armor wasn't that great, but thanks to all the composite toyagumon inside it was enough that Phoebe couldn't instantly rip it to shreds with her shurikens. While fighting it we also had to look out for icebeams and icicles raining down from above, something we were somewhat used too by now. The firing squad was the most effective against it. So naturally it went after them while the rest of us tried to hold it back while it seemed to bleed out data clouds. However this proved to be nearly impossible due to its size, so to protect our friends, I decided to take the risk and sent out Aggron. Who was the only thing large enough to hold it back, and as a bonus he proceeded to basically tear it to pieces, all while being pelted with icebeams and icicles, which were little more than an annoyance to him. Bits and pieces of the robot split back into toyagumon once they hit the ground, which frantically recombined into whatever vehicle form they could, putting us up against a menagerie of jeeps, motorcycles, and light armored vehicles which then sprinted towards eachother to merge into something more powerful. Most of there were gun downed before they could merge into anything more threatening, while the remaining jets merged with the others into some slightly scarier looking jets. I returned Aggron before he could sustain any further injury, as the robot was gone and his job was done. And the enhanced jet forms were a little bit better armed and starting to focus on him, and their autocannons were fast enough they almost certainly would have found the gaps in his armor given time. Phoebe and Dianamon started going after the airborne enemies at that point, sort of as practice for when there would be more mammothmon to deal with. Eventually, as things had played out in the earlier battles, enemies started falling, until there were no more enemies in the air, and we were free to be on our way once again.

-several minutes later after cleanup, on the bus.-

Zari was driving. I was snuggling with Phoebe and Kitty in the back as promised, though we were dressed this time. Saphy and Chally were sitting across from each other at the table.

"Apparently they teamed up with Marionamon too." I said.

"I thought we pretty much destroyed marionamon's army though." Phoebe said.

"She could be making more though, out of the digimon they captured." Saphy said.

"Yeah, that's true. It could be the Bubblemen though to." Phoebe said.

"It's been awhile since we've seen them hasn't it?" I said.

"Mhm." Phoebe replied.

"Do you think they would team up with the dark rulers?" I asked.

"I think if they knew the extent of their plans they wouldn't. It's obvious they're after me for some reason, they aren't out to destroy the multiverse." Phoebe said.

Their apocalypse-weary minds thought Phoebe was some sort of interdimensional goddess, similar to the original palkia, so they kept trying to capture her with vain hopes of saving their dying home world, the same world Henry was from. Project silverwind was an attempt to manipulate the weather, but the chemicals used ended up being fatally toxic to around 80% of the population. The remainder were either immune or semi-permanently intered in specialized bubble suits, the Bubblemen are of the later, there's only a few dozen of them, but they have a few hundred who are immune among their ranks as well, as well as a few hundred digimon, most of which were formerly employed by the numerous dark rulers we had defeated. They've been following us around since, and have a small foothold in a few other universes now too. Though since they got to the digital world, they've basically been cut off from the rest of their organization. At this moment, we weren't sure where they had gone or even if they were still alive. Last time we saw them, they were too much of a hassle to deal with, so we just avoided them.

"Why are they after you?" Kitty asked.

"I really don't know." Phoebe said.

"Maybe they want to marry you." Kitty said.

"Pffff, I doubt it. They just want to capture me and use me for, something, I'm not entirely sure what there plan is. Maybe you can digivolve and use your mind control on them." Phoebe suggested.

"Maybe." Kitty said.

"Nah, there's too many of them, with all their digimon." I said.

"Well, maybe we won't have to deal with them at all, who knows?" Phoebe said.

"Yeah, that's a good point." I replied.

Things went quiet for a few minutes.

"One of the newbies landed up ahead, something is going on." Zari said.

"Already? We barely left the village." I said.

"Yeah, well, you three, just get ready." Zari replied.

"Well if they landed, it's probably nothing hostile." I said.

"You shouldn't take chances like that." Zari replied.

"I think the boredom is going to kill us more than the enemies are." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, probably." I replied.

"Didn't we just have a break from that?" Zari asked.

"Yeah and we spent it very well and now we're bored again." Phoebe replied.

"Well maybe whoever landed up ahead saw something else of interest." Zari said as we were still too far away for her to be able to tell who exactly.

"I hope so." Phoebe replied.

A few seconds of silence passed as we approached the mechanorimon in anticipation.

"Looks like it's Celly this time." Zari said as we came up on them. Phoebe got up and got her shoes on. Kitty and I stayed in bed as I was pretty confident nothing bad would happen.

She stopped beside her and opened the doors.

"What's going on?" She asked.

" Lussy told me to tell you we saw smoke off in that direction." Selenia replied.

"So somebody is probably over there." Zari said.

"Right." Selenia agreed.

"So you should lead the way and go over there first, make sure they're not hostile, and if they're not, come back to us and we'll follow you." Zari said as Phoebe made her way to the front of the bus.

"Yeah, go tell the other newbies too." Phoebe said.

"I will, thanks." Selly replied before stepping away.

With that settled we started moving again, albeit in a slightly different direction.

"It's strange that the last village was empty and this next one apparently isn't." I said.

"Maybe they have really good walls." Phoebe said as she headed back to the bed.

"They have so much airpower now I don't think it would help them much." I said.

"Well you never know." Phoebe replied as she crawled in bed next to me.

"It could be just a camp." Saphy said. "Maybe they're moving around too."

"Oh Arceus, Cj, what if it's the Bubblemen?" Phoebe asked.

"Then we'll just run away again, we can still outrun them, it's no big deal really. They don't even know about the newbies, they might not even remember the mechanorimon." I said.

"Yeah, you're right it's not that big of a deal really is it?" Phoebe asked.

"Nope." I said.

"Hey Chally?" Phoebe asked.

"What?" Chally asked.

"You got any good stories?" Phoebe asked.

"That came out of nowhere." I said.

"Well we need something new to talk about." Phoebe said.

"Well come up here and we can talk." Chally said.

"Ok, come along Cj." Phoebe said as she got back up.

"I thought you wanted to snuggle?" I asked.

"Eh, we can do that all night." Phoebe said. "I'm in the mood for a story now."

"Ok if you say so." I replied.

-a few seconds later after we both squeezed into the table. I sat next to Saphy while Phoebe sat across from me next to Chally, and Kitty sat in the seat across from the table.

"Allright, so what do you want to know?" Chally asked.

"What were your parents like?" Phoebe asked.

"My father was a fish merchant, we raised a lot of fish in these giant tanks, and fattened them up to sell. All the natural bodies of water are frozen over, so we can't use boats or ships for fishing, so we have to farm them to get enough to keep up a decent supply. When we have to fish we fish in the rivers, where it's safer, others fish out in the ocean, with these big cranes to catch these huge fish that are worth a fortune, but you can also catch too big of a fish that can pull the whole crane and its crew underwater. He wasn't around when I was abducted, I was running the store for him while he was off trying to sell some fish in a less saturated market in another town. " Chally said.

"And your mother?" Phoebe asked.

"She usually ran the store but was taking the day off, so I could learn." Chally replied.

"Seems nice." Phoebe said.

"Until they wanted me to marry a complete stranger." Chally said.

"Cj and Aranea were complete strangers." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, that doesn't mean it always works though Pheebles." I said.

"Not that it matters, I can't go back now." Chally said.

"True." Phoebe said.

"I wish I could have said goodbye." Chally said.

"You should have said something, we would have let you." Phoebe said.

"I know, but, I was just kind of scared about what I would find, what if they still tried to marry me off to that weirdo?" Chally replied.

"They would have been relieved to know that you're ok." Phoebe said.

"I know, but, it's too late now." Chally said.

"You and Lussy both, you shouldn't let yourself make mistakes like that again." Phoebe said.

"I know." Chally said.

"Lussy isn't here right now." Kitty pointed out.

"I know Kitty Kat, I was just saying she has kind of a similar issue, with her planet and its insurrection and everything." Phoebe said.

"That's a little more complicated than saying goodbye Pheebles." I replied.

"I know, but still they both should have said something to us while we had the ability to do something about it." Phoebe said.

"So what was it like, sleeping with a princess you married as a stranger?" Chally asked me, referring to Aranea, obviously, not knowing Phoebe was also a princess.

"Don't you think that's a little . . . . invasive?" I asked.

"If it gets to be too much I'll stop you." Phoebe said.

"Ok, fine, though when we started sleeping together was well after we weren't strangers anymore." I said.

-flashback, about 98ish years ago, all speech translated for clarity -

The fighting had come to an end, some soldiers were burying the bodies of the occupants of the castle, the young princess, who was spared, I don't think I ever learned her name, but she was on a carriage bound for the winning kingdom, as the king had plans for her to marry his son in the future, knock over another enemy castle and install them there just as he was doing with his daughter and I.

He had some grand fantasy of ensuring his offspring would have their own kingdoms, so he could see which one would be the best to replace him, not the most righteous of plans, but I was just trying to survive for the time being, and in all honesty, there probably weren't many other kings that wouldn't just be using me for similar ends, it was less about right or wrong, more about us being each other's best hope of accomplishing anything in this world, and I had yet to see anything more evil in him than the standard amount of greed that people of power typically seem to have.

Other soldiers were mopping up all the blood, assessing damage done from catapults, by the evening the castle was pretty much clean aside from some damage to the walls. A long line of carriages arrived that evening, bringing with them many, many women, Aranea of course, and a musician.

The happiness on the faces of so many lovers being reunited was sharply juxtaposed by the sadness in those that weren't. The first hour after they arrived a lot of stories were exchanged, a lot of rings changed hands. I had a few to return myself, it wasn't easy, and it never gets easier.

The beer came out, People started to drink, the musician started to play, people started to dance, the fighting was over, the castle had been taken, the king was pleased.

"I missed you babe, you have no idea the hell I went through to take this place." I said. I still missed Phoebe at that point, but I missed her too.

"Dad said it's ours now, he said he'll come visit once we have some time to settle in." Aranea replied.

"Never owned a castle before." I said.

"Me neither." She replied.

"Damn you're beautiful." I said.

"You know I think Phoebe would understand, if we, given the circumstances."

"I haven't seen you in four months and you're still holding out for her? I was hoping at this point you'd be willing to move on." Aranea said.

"That's the thing, I am now, at some point I'm going to need to start living like I'm never going to find her again, and at this point, I need you babe." I said.

"Let's stay for a while." She said. "The musician will start playing soon, then we can dance for a bit."

"Of course." I replied.

"And then maybe we can sneak away?" she asked.

"We'll think of something." I replied.

A few minutes passed, we started dancing along with several others, and I just kept falling more and more in love with her as we looked into each other's eyes, and I can only guess she felt the same. The festivities continued, some people were starting to drink a bit too much, I'm pretty certain our daughter wasn't the only child conceived that night.

Another half hour passed, we took a break, some of the girls were taking off their clothes.

"You want to go upstairs now, before these clowns start having an orgy?" I asked.

"Or maybe you wanna?" I began to asked

"An orgy is no place for a princess. Let's go." She cut me off.

"Allright, Henderson!" I yelled for my bodyguard.

"Yes sir?" He replied.

"Guard the stairs, don't let anyone else up." I replied.

"Understood." He said.

I took Aranea's hand and led her upstairs.

"Is there a bedroom?" she asked.

"Yeah, the master bedroom is right over here" I replied.

"Ok babe this is your first time, I hope, so you have a lot to learn." I said as I held both her hands and looked into her eyes.

"And you're going to teach me, to be as good as her?" She asked.

"Well I can try." I replied.

"It was the sixth day after we set out, some empty farmhouse out in the middle of nowhere." I replied.

"So while you were playing around with Ronnie what was Kitty doing?" Phoebe asked, trying to redirect the conversation.

"From what I understand she was on the same planet, but so far away I never would have found her with the technology that was available. The most impressive thing they had were catapults and repeating crossbows. Everything smelled terrible, and they knew next to nothing about medicine. Also everyone drank beer all the time, because the water was never filtered properly, and the small amount of alcohol in the beer just made it a lot safer to drink." I said after Kitty didn't seem to want to answer.

"So that's why you started drinking." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, atleast until I could set up a rudimentary filtration system. That was after I was put into the military. That was fun to try to explain to them, but somehow word got to the king, and then he of course wants clean water, so I showed the process to a few of his inner circle, then he goes and gets somebody specifically to make filtered water, so now the rest of the royalty is in on it, so they go from having a few pots full to barrels, and then he has all his blacksmiths trying to figure out how to build a system large enough that everyone in the surrounding town can have access to it. They did most of the masonry and design work, I just kind of steered them away from lead pipes, and some other things that just wouldn't work. I used what I knew from locomotives to kind of guide them into making a primitive boiler, to turn the water into steam, condense it, and put it into a cistern. They were already pretty good at working with copper, so it surprisingly didn't take too long. In the span of a few months I basically started the whole water purification industry. Which is apparently highly illegal according to the U.S.C, but I wasn't aware of them, psychics confirmed that, so the charges were pretty quickly dropped." I said.

"Yeah, well, while he was doing that, I was wandering around in a forest, alone, it was sad, I don't remember much about it, because literally nothing ever happened, just trees, a lot of trees, and some tiny biyomons, that wouldn't talk to me and almost always flew away." Kitty said, finally deciding to say something.

"Those were probably just normal birds Kitty Kat, they can't talk." I said.

"Oh." Kitty replied.

"Well then this big Leomon tried to eat me, but it was so weak it was almost funny." Kitty said.

"Probably some kind of wild cat." I said.

"I don't know what it is it just looked like an evil leomon." Kitty said.

"Some kind of lion maybe." I said.

"Maybe?" Kitty asked.

"There's a lot of wild cats like that and it was on a completely different planet, so who knows? I never saw any while I was there. Anyway, what else is there to talk about?" I asked.

"Chally, you said you were a bounty hunter, you have any bounty hunting stories like Henry?" Phoebe asked.

"I wasn't one for nearly as long as he was." Chally said.

"Well you still collected a few? Didn't you?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah." Chally replied.

"Which one was your favorite? Phoebe continued.

"You know how I got into it?" Chally asked.

"Nope." Phoebe replied.

"I just got liberated, so I was looking at this wanted display outside this bar, I don't really know why it just caught my attention, I just figured out there were alien life forms a few weeks ago, and there's this guy that's almost passed out drunk in the alley beside the bar so I'm looking at these posters, and I'm looking at this guy, and then I realize, he has a 500 credit bounty on him, so I convinced him to follow me to the address they said to go too on the display, I made him think he was getting something, and he's so wasted he doesn't think anything of it." Chally said.

"easiest 500 credits ever huh?" I said.

"Yep, and that was enough to get the attention of the bounty hunters that liberated me. So they helped me out with equipment and training, and they saved me on top of that, so, I owe them so much, as well as my parents, so we better kill this Deusmon bastard. I might not be able to see them again, but I can atleast help save them from that." Chally replied.

"What are you going to do after we kill him though?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know, I guess we'll just see where we all end up next. Probably just stick with you guys if that's allright, I'm getting tired of starting over." Chally said.

" Of course you can stay with us, atleast until we make it back home, then you might have to get your own place, we don't have enough room for everyone, but you know, once we get Charley to go to bed we can go hang out at the bar or something." Phoebe replied.

"That sounds great." Chally said.

"Mhm." Phoebe said.

"What about me?" Kitty asked.

"Kitty Kat, you're our virara now, we'll make a room for you in the basement or something." Phoebe said.

"Ok." Kitty replied with some relief.

"Do you have a pool?" Saphy asked.

"We have a creek." I replied.

"nevermind." Saphy said.

"We'll talk about this whenever we can find a hotel Saphy." Phoebe replied.

"Ok." Saphy replied.

"Which also means he's all yours whatever night that is Kitty." Phoebe said.

"What night is it?." Kitty replied.

"I don't know, whenever we can find a hotel, and I expect to see him the morning after in good condition." Phoebe said, jokingly.

"Really now?" I said with a laugh. While Challana laughed as well.

"Right." Kitty replied as the joke went over her head.

"Well I don't want you to get hurt Cj, that would be bad." Phoebe said.

"You know what you're doing, you silly little gardevoir." I said.

"I know, I wuv you." She cutely replied.

"Awwe, I love you too." I said.

"So then what will happen?" Chally asked.

"What do you mean?" Phoebe asked.

"once you get back home." Chally elaborated.

"We'll take a break and live a normal life for a little while with our children." Phoebe said.

"Can you even imagine how much Devon co will owe us in overtime?" I asked.

"Well we don't want to bankrupt them Cj." Phoebe replied.

"True, but still. Eh we'll probably just let most of it go." I said.

"We'll take a few months' vacation or so." Phoebe said.

"Mhm, and I'll take you to that resort in Sinnoh." I said.

"Awwwe, Cj, but we'll have to stay home for a while, so the kids can get used to Kitty." Phoebe replied.

"True, eh we'll figure it out when we get there." I replied.

"Right." Phoebe said.

Eventually we got close to the source of the smoke. The newbies and goddesses went to check it out before we proceeded any further, just in case whatever it was was hostile. It turned out to be another village, similar to the last, but a few of the houses had smoke coming from their chimneys, which was a good sign somebody was there as fires will burn out after a while if nobody is there to keep them fueled, either that or they'll burn down the whole house or even a whole general area. Illustria, Kiera, Mervamon, and Dianamon went to check it out by themselves while Selly and Venusmon stayed behind as messengers in case something went wrong. The rest of us stayed pretty far away to keep the vehicles safe, we also took a moment to explain things to Henry, Claire, and Ninjamon, who up until then weren't aware of what we were planning.

They got out of the mechanorimon and started to take a look around, heading for the nearest house that was smoking. The goddesses took the lead. They hadn't been attacked so far, so that was a good sign. Inside the house were some gazimon, which are extremely common throughout the digital world, and a drimogemon, nothing that any of the dark rulers would employ. They were sitting by the fire and resting when Mervamon knocked on the door.

"Can you hear me out here? Open up?" Mervamon said as she knocked on the door.

One of the gazimon inside eventually answered, before sizing her up and retreating into the house in terror.

"Oh come on, I'm not here to destroy you. We just want to know what you're doing here." Mervamon said.

"I guess that means we can tell Celly to tell the others it's safe." Illustria said.

"Yeah, go do that, we'll settle things here." Mervamon replied.

"Ok, come on Kiera." Illustria said.

"Maybe you should stay just a bit longer we still haven't really confirmed they aren't hostile." Dianamon said.

"Well he just ran back inside like a wimpy wuss, I think we're good." Illustria replied.

"What if he's going for a weapon or something?" Kiera asked.

"Then we should just bust in there then." Mervamon said as she forcefully pushed in the door, terrifying the occupants even further.

"Wait Mervamon." Dianamon said, but it was too late.

"What are you doing here cowards?" Mervamon asked.

"Just searching, ffor ssurvivors." One of the gazimon replied.

"Whose is charge?" Mervamon asked.

"Bbachusmon, wwe're an eh-expeditionary force." The gazimon replied.

"Bachusmon?" Mervamon asked, perplexed.

"Did I hear that right?" Dianamon asked.

"I think so." Mervamon replied.

"Where is he?" Mervamon asked.

"The north terminal, there's a trailmon line northwest of here, just follow it south it will eventually turn back to the north." Gazimon said.

"Is he a dark ruler?" Illustria asked, confused.

"Oh no, he's a former deity, like us, he used to rule alongside us. We haven't seen him for years, but he could be a worthwhile ally." Dianamon explained, as the scared digimon started to climb out of the window on the other side of the building.

"LUSSY!" Mervamon yelled commandingly.

"What?" Illustria asked, annoyed.

"Tell the others we're heading west, if Bachusmon is alive like they say he's definitely worth talking to." Mervamon replied authoritatively.

"Ok, not sure what the lovebirds are going to think, but." Illustria replied.

"They either follow us or they don't, either way we're going." Mervamon replied.

"Ok, we'll tell Selly to tell them that." Illustria replied.

-several minutes later, a few miles away by the bus.-

Everybody was bored with waiting around we all eventually left the vehicles to converse with Henry and Claire, stretch our legs for a bit, and just kind of hang out.

"Hopefully they won't be too much longer." I said, getting bored of standing around.

"Maybe we could all play a game to pass the time?" Phoebe asked.

"Like what?" I asked.

"You have some cards don't you?" Henry asked.

"Yeah, but I was thinking more like tag." Phoebe said.

"What are we kids?" Zari asked.

"Well it was just an idea, Cj can be it." Phoebe said.

"Pheebles, no." I replied.

"What you don't want to chase me?" Phoebe asked.

"We're only going to end up chasing each other and everybody else is just going to stand around watching us act like idiots." I said.

"Yeah, you're right. Oh well." Phoebe said.

"I'd have more fun just playing with your coat. It's so puffy." I said as I wrapped my arms around her.

"Stop." She replied, somewhat embarrassed.

"You could let your pokémon out for a bit." Henry suggested.

"Some of them, some don't like the cold and golbats can't deal with direct sunlight." I replied.

"I thought about letting mine out." Claire said.

"You shouldn't, Chikorita is a grass type, they don't really like the cold." Phoebe said.

"Awwe I was looking forward to playing with it in the snow." Claire said.

" Nah, in the wild most grass pokémon bury themselves and sleep during the winter. So it probably won't want to play it will want to huddle up somewhere or snuggle with you to try to stay warm." Phoebe said.

"Well that's good to know, thanks Pheebles." Claire said.

"Mhm, no problem." Phoebe said.

"What about mine?" Henry asked.

"Totodiles hibernate too if it gets cold enough, but they're water type, so the snow probably won't bother yours." Phoebe said.

"Allright then, come on out buddy." Henry said as he sent out his totodile from an alternate pokémon world, it was olive green in color with a single, cyan-colored blade like fin down it's back, as opposed to the familiar variant that's blue with multiple red fins. It took a few steps before realizing it was walking in snow and then looked around to see everyone else. Then it looked back at Henry like it was waiting for a command.

"You doing allright buddy?" Henry asked.

"Tot!" It cheerfully replied with a smile.

"That's a yes." Phoebe translated somewhat unnecessarily.

His totodile took a moment to take in it's surroundings.

"That a very interesting little thing you got there." Ninjamon said.

"Toto." Henry's totodile replied.

"A lot of teeth." Ninjamon observed.

"Yep he's my pokémon, that's what they're called right?" Henry asked.

"Yep." Phoebe replied.

"Can he fight though?" Ninjamon asked.

"We're still working on that part." Henry said.

"They haven't had much of an oppourtunity to work with them much. It's hard when there's no wild pokémon or other beginning trainers to practice against." Phoebe said.

"Can I train against him?" Ninjamon asked.

"No, not right now, I just wanted to let him out to have some fun and enjoy himself." Henry refused.

"I'll train against you." Kitty said absent-mindedly.

"Yeah, so will I." Saphy said with a mischievous grin.

His pokémon then took off running, laughing all the way.

Zari agreed, as Henry continued to follow his totodile around, as it kept crawling under the bus and his camaro and occasionally stopping only to spray water at him, but Henry was used to that by now and was able to tell when he was going to do it so he could get out of the way in time.

We watched this go on for a few more minutes before the young pokémon finally tired itself out.

"Hey guys, one of the mechanorimon is coming back." Zari said as she pointed towards it.

"I guess that means it's safe to enter." I said, because if it wasn't all of them would be, we didn't see any lasers firing either so not much fighting could have been going on.

"I guess so, but let's wait and see anyway." Phoebe said.

It arrived along with Selenia about a minute later.

"Ok, so, it looks safe, but apparently the goddesses heard about this bakamon guy and they're going to see him." Selenia said after climbing out of the overgrown tin can.

"A bakemon? Isn't that like the sheetghost digimon?" I said.

"I don't know." Selenia replied.

"Let me see." Phoebe said as she pulled her digivice out.

"Yep, it's a sheetghost digimon. I wonder why they're so interested in him. It says here it's just a champion." Phoebe said.

"I don't know, did they say where they're going? Can we follow them?" I asked.

"Yeah, but you're not keeping them from going, they wanted me to tell you that." Selenia said.

"Allright then I guess we're following them, come on everybody let's get going." I said to the rest of the team.

"And Lussy and Kiera?" I asked as everyone but Phoebe and Kitty started to return to the vehicles.

"They're waiting for us to catch up." Selenia said.

"Allright, head back over there, we'll follow you." I said.

"Ok." Selenia replied.

A few minutes later we were back on the bus heading towards the village, once we got there Kiera and Lucy joined up and we started heading to the northeast, where the goddesses apparently went, eventually we ran into Venusmon, who directed us towards the other two in a vaguely northwest direction. Eventually we came across a a westbound trailmon line and started following that, after following that for a few hours during which it started to curve to the north, the sun went down and we had to stop for the night.

"So where are we going exactly?" I asked once we all gathered around the fire.

"We heard Bachusmon was staying at the northern terminal, this rail line should lead us there eventually." Venusmon replied.

"Bacchusmon? I thought they were looking for a bakemon?" I asked.

"Oh, no, what would we want with one of those creepy things?" Venusmon asked.

"We've been wondering that all day." Phoebe said.

"I must've misheard Lussy." Selenia admitted.

"It seems that way." Illustria added.

"So we're not looking for a ghost then?" Henry asked.

"No we're looking for one of our fellow former deities, atleast hopefully he's not a ghost." Venusmon explained.

"Do digimon have ghosts?" Challana asked.

"No, but, they could get reincarnated into something that digivolves into one." Venusmon replied.

"What determines what you get reincarnated as?" Darkvioletmon asked, surprising everyone for a moment.

"Jupitermon would've known more about that, that's not really my department." Venusmon said.

"Have you always been a goddess or were you a normal digimon once too?" Darkvioletmon asked again, once again surprising everyone.

"I haven't been a goddess since the trinity dethroned us, but, I've been in this form so long, I don't remember ever being anything else." Venusmon said.

"Could I be a goddess someday?" Darkvioletmon asked.

"Why would you want to be?" I asked. "You understand the responsibilities that come with possessing that kind of power?"

"Let the goddess answer, mortal." Darkvioletmon asked.

"Sweety, we're both technically 124 years old, he's passed the point of being mortal." Phoebe said.

"To annihilate the dark zone." Darkvioletmon replied.

" But they have, to pay. The evil ones, the ones that kept trying to consume me, and some of the others." Darkvioletmon said.

"That's why they're in the dark zone sweetie. That attitude might be why you were there now that I think about it." Venusmon said.

"True, I don't, I was the goddess of love, I never got to decide who ended up in the dark zone, that was always Jupitermon's domain. Who was in charge when you lost your original form? Was it us or Ophanimon? " Venusmon asked.

"But I was in the darkzone." Darkvioletmon said.

"Yeah, part of you was, and if you're serious about destroying that place, it's only fair that I warn you that every serious attempt to destroy the dark zone that I've witnessed has ended in catastrophe, usually a mass outbreak of evil digimon at the very least. It's a stupid idea and no other deity in their right mind would let you. If Mervamon heard you say that, you'd be on the ground already." Venusmon said.

"Is that a threat?" Darkvioletmon asked as she took a threatening pose.

"No it's a promise." Venusmon replied not really concerned with her stance at all.

"Hey take it easy, no need to start fighting now." Henry said.

"Allright, before things get violent, Cj and I are going to retire for the night." Phoebe said.

"You don't think we might need you to help control things if they do?" Henry asked.

"Right ok, I guess we need to get ready then. Saphy be nice to my sister and get ready to get out there, you need more practice." Phoebe said.

"Don't get hurt?" I asked.

"No, stay by Kitty and don't go off on your own, you should be safe if you stick with her." Phoebe said.

Eventually we arrived at the battle taking place between Dianamon, Mervamon, and a mixed bag of enemies, including several mammothmon, icedevimon, atleast a half-dozen tankmon, a typical amount of IceDevidramon and Frostwyvernmon in the sky, along with 4 tanks and 2 attack choppers worth of shadow toy agumon. And that was just what they hadn't defeated yet. The goddesses were strong and holding their own at the moment, but with just the two of them against an entire enemy group, it was unclear if they were strong enough to keep it up indefinitely. No sign of an enemy lieutenant yet, if the remaining Dark Rulers even had any. No sign of the goddesses' mechanorimon either, so they were probably already destroyed.

Anyway we parked the bus a safe distance away and then we piled out, the digibabes digivolved and I started distributing weapons as per the usual routine. Phoebe and Saphy went straight down the rail line, everybody else went for cover in the nearby trees on the west side since the enemy seemed to be coming from the east if not slightly northeast. Kitty went with me as I went ahead of the firing squad, since Phoebe was determined that I stay by her. The newbies landed and stayed with the firing squad, using the robotic digimon's lasers to snipe the enemy, since the mammothmon made the air unsafe.

As Phoebe and Saphy set to work, Dianamon started focusing on the tankmon as her arrows could penetrate their armor somehow, though it didn't always work. Everyone else went for the softer targets.

After the first few tankmon fell they started to focus on her, which was great because she could also resist their attacks better than the rest of us.

"Let's go around and hit them on the north side Kitty Kat, classic pincer maneuver." I said.

"Ok, I'll follow you." She replied.

We kept our distance until we made our way around the enemy group, then we engaged a few Icedevimon that seemed to be the furthest to the north. Aside from her impressive hypnotic abilities both of Kitty's forms were extremely lethal up close. So I felt pretty safe fighting next to her, then again it wasn't even close to being the first time.

"Where are their lieutenants? I want a real fight." Kitty said after we had taken down several icedevimon.

"You don't have the right to know!" A random, soon to be destroyed Icedevimon said.

"Well why not? You're not doing anything but annoying us." Kitty replied before she promptly cut him down.

"You humans know what we're looking for, where is she? They know you did something with her." Another enemy icedevimon asked.

"You don't have the right to know." I replied before slashing him to pieces.

"He slept with her and made babies." Kitty said.

"What?" The icedevimon asked, confused.

"Kitty what the fuck?" I asked.

"That, that doesn't work there?" She asked.

"No, no it doesn't." I replied as the confused Icedevimon was promptly relieved of his confusion.

"Sorry." She replied.

"Just focus there's some more coming up." I said.

"Frozen claw." Yet another Icedevimon launched an attack, extending it's razer-sharp, ice-cold arm towards me.

-meanwhile on the south end of the enemy group.-

Phoebe was still trying to help Saphy learn how to become a more effective fighter, so she was kind of hanging back hovering a few feet in the air enough to be out of the icedevimon's reach, and basically just going after anyone that tried to take Saphy by surprise while keeping a close eye on the toyagumon tanks and the tankmon, who couldn't get a decent shot at Saphy through the group of Icedevimon. She had to fall back on using her trident, as her ability to manipulate water couldn't affect the icedevimon much, unlike her fight with aldamon's goons. Darkvioletmon also decided to fight the Icedevimon around them, though she didn't say anything Saphy was getting a little bit of help from her as well.

"Come on Saphy, you're getting better at this." Phoebe said.

"Easy for you to say have you even killed one so far?" Saphy asked, feeling stressed.

" Yeah, I've been keeping your sides clear while also protecting myself, so nobody can sneak up on you. And Violet has your back too." Phoebe said.

"And you're also probably watching Cj too I bet." Saphy said.

"Yeah, well I gotta make sure he's doing ok." Phoebe said as she waved her arms around to coordinate shurikens. She also watched the toyagumon carefully in case they decided to turn their guns on her, but it seemed that just like with the tankmon they were more preoccupied with the goddesses at the moment.

"And you trust violet to have my back but you don't trust Kitty to have Cj's? I mean she's an idiot but she's a way better fighter than I am." Saphy asked.

"I want to, but it doesn't make me stop worrying, and no I don't completely trust Violet, Otherwise I'd just leave you alone with her." Phoebe said.

"Well quit worrying about him right now and worry about you and me, you don't think he'll be upset if anything happens to you?" Saphy asked.

"Yeah, you're right." Phoebe said.

"So come on and help me here, I'm getting tired and if you haven't noticed Violet isn't saying much and is kind of too far away to be of much help." Saphy said.

"Ok we'll kick things up a notch." Phoebe said as she teleported to the ground right before a toyagumon tank opened fire on her previous position.

"Thankyou." Saphy replied.

"Also that tank thought it was going to shoot me, so I had to move anyway." Phoebe said.

"oh, I thought you couldn't read digimon? "Saphy said.

"I don't have to when I can see its gun barrel turning towards me." Phoebe said

"Ok, that's fair;" Saphy replied.

"If you really need a break we can start teleporting around and taking shots at them. Violet can come too." Phoebe said.

"Um, I think I'll be fine for now." Saphy replied, somewhat creeped out by DarkVioletmon.

-back on the other side-

We got bored so Kitty used her darkness love ability to turn the icedevimon against each other.

"What's this brother, you dare defy the will of deusmon?" One said as it was pierced by the claws of another standing behind it.

"Wbat did you make me do? You bitch!" The other said, turning around as her ability wore off.

The distinctive sizzling-like sound of the nazzar nail slicing yet another victim was heard next.

"Nobody has called me that in a long time." Kitty said.

Before he could reply, he was gone.

"Because you aren't one." I said after taking down another.

"Awe." She went as I briefly looked over at her just long enough to realize she was distracted, looking at me, while another one was getting ready to attack her.

" Kitty pay attention look out behind you!" I yelled, but at that point it was too late.

"Frozen claw!" Another one announced before it attacked, right when Kitty finally started to turn back around, knowing what the sword wanted me to do by now after using it for so long, I instinctively moved to slice it's now vulnerable arm off, a follow up slash destroyed it, but the damage was already done.

"nnnnngh." Kitty whimpered in pain, she wasn't bleeding much because it also partially froze her wounds, but I knew by now that didn't mean much, it would've been bad for Pheebles, for her, she just needed a moment to thaw out and for the hurt to go away.

"Kitty you gotta pay attention." I said.

"Frozen clau-ugh." Another one said as I killed it mid-attack.

"I know I know I know." She said as she held her side in pain while I cut yet another one down.

"Dammit there's too many for me to deal with alone, let's get out of here." I said as our window of escape was closing and we were nearly surrounded.

I took her hand and we retreated from the fight for a moment to the trees. 3 followed after us and harassed us with their icicle based attack, which hit us both a few times and left a few bruises, which prompted me to let go of Kitty for a moment so I could turn around and deal with them, while she continued to run, thankfully they were grouped close enough together that a single shogun sword attack took them all out so we could get to safety.

"Jesus Christ girl you fight like how Phoebe thinks I fight." I said, jokingly after I caught up with her.

"Sorry." Kitty replied.

"How long can you hold that form?" I asked as I made sure I wasn't bleeding from the icicles.

"I think this will be I can keep it for now." She said, struggling to speak.

"Good, cause there's plenty more of them left. You need some time to recover?" I asked.

"My tummy hurts, I can't feel my side." Kitty said.

"Frostbite will do that." I said.

"Are you ok?" She asked.

"Well, I got bruised from those god damned icicles, so at this point Phoebe is already going to chew us out for sure." I said.

"That's not fair." Kitty said.

"I know, but you know how she is." I said.

"So what now?" Kitty asked.

"Wait till you're ready and then we'll go back out there." I said.

"Ok, let's do this then." Kitty said.

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah." She said, still holding her side.

"Ok, just stay focused." I replied.

"Right." She agreed.

"And when I tell you to turn around, turn around. Don't just vacantly stair at me like that." I said.

"Mhm." She replied as we timidly walked back towards the battlefield. The group of IceDevimon we were fighting were migrating back south to focus on fighting the goddesses and also trying to throw icicles at fire support, who were all doing well at using the available trees for cover.

-on the other side-

"Well now they ran away." Phoebe said after briefly teleporting into the air and back down to check on us.

"That's great, still need more help here." Saphy said.

"No it's not great that means one of them got hurt and it's probably Cj." Phoebe said.

"Can't you read his mind?" Saphy asked.

"Not at that range when I have to keep track of all this other stuff." Phoebe explained.

"Except you're not keeping track because I'm getting tired. I almost got hit a few seconds ago." Saphy said.

"Oh, come on now? Really, that just proves you're out of shape and need more training." Phoebe joked, remembering the hell of her own training she needed to do to get her physical strength back once we reunited, where she couldn't even stand without her powers.

"Ugh, you're insane, help me already!" Saphy said.

"I am, just relax and concentrate Saphy. You need a break? You want to take my hand?" Phoebe said.

"No, just help me here before they managed to hit me!" Saphy said.

"Ok." Phoebe replied.

-a few minutes later-

The Icedevimon were getting a bit smarter, some would come in to attack, and others would hang back and launch icicles at us. By now we've fought enough of them to know that this had a tendency to happen this far into fighting a group of them. It was annoying and nearly impossible not to get hit atleast a few times, it was way more important to avoid their claws than the icicles though. They hurt, especially when you get hit in the arm or on your hands, neither of which is a particularly pleasant feeling, but we both soldiered on. The ones the flying digimon rained down from the sky were a bit more dangerous as they were harder to see and it was a lot more likely to get hit in the head by them. Thankfully all the digimon in the air seemed to be focused on the goddesses. There was no sign of a lieutenant from either Ice Daemon or Darkdramon yet, and it was uncertain if Marionamon managed to recruit another since we defeated Porcelamon. There was no sign of any commandramon in this battle yet either, which had me somewhat worried as a group of them could sneak up at any time, do to their camouflage they're really hard to see at a distance.

"Tankmon incoming." One of the icedevimon said prompting the group to move out of the way so it could join the fight. Even the ones that were about to attack us cleared away.

"You can't handle a couple of human meatbags and their digipets?" The tankmon rudely asked.

"Darkness Love" Kitty said as she looked it in the eyes.

"Don't look!" One of the icedevimon said, but it was too late.

"Destroy all the Ice Devimon." Kitty said.

"Yes mam." The tankmon replied before opening fire on the group, sending them scattering, before it turned and started to chase them down.

"Take it out, now before your spell wears off!" I said.

"I can't it's too fast." Kitty replied.

An icedevimon tripped on an icicle as it was trying to run away only for the tankmon to run it over and destroy it, others were hurt by its machine guns and cannon, sadly there weren't many casualties before her hypnosis wore off, but at that point the tankmon decided it liked chasing the icedevimon, went completely crazy and continued to fire at them indiscriminately.

"Cj, I broke eye contact with it long enough ago it should have worn off by now." Kitty said.

"I don't know what to say he's still chasing them." I replied.

"Have I gotten stronger?" Kitty asked.

"I don't know." I replied.

"DIE! DIE! DIE! EVERYONE! MUST DIE!" The tankmon chanted.

More Icedevimon ran towards it to try to stop it. But they really couldn't do much against its armor.

"Guess I'm not the only one you drive crazy." I said.

"What?" Kitty asked, confused.

"Never mind. I love you." I replied as I hugged her.

"Ow, careful it still hurts." Kitty replied.

"Oh sorry, babe I didn't mean too." I said as another tankmon came up behind us.

"Time's up meatbags." It said as it loaded its machineguns.

"Darkness love." Kitty said as she quickly turned around and looked into it's eyes.

"Oh god, we're playing with fire right now." I said.

"Go kill that tankmon over there." Kitty said.

"Yes mam." The tankmon replied before speeding off in pursuit of its insane brother.

"Hopefully they'll kill each other." Kitty said, quietly.

"Yeah I see what you're trying to do, hopefully." I replied.

"Times up meatbags." Another said as it took aim at us from slightly further away.

"Oh for fuck sakes that's literally what the last one just said." I replied.

"Um, Cj, that one is too far away for it to work." Kitty said, nervously.

"Ok I'll just get behind you then." I said, nervously.

"Right." Kitty replied.

She could take a hit, I couldn't, so, yeah. But before it could start firing at us, one of the newbies in their mechanorimon started firing at it with it's laser, causing it to retreat into its chassis and turn towards them. It fired it fired it's cannon at them, the mechanorimon was hit, it made a huge dent, but it didn't penetrate it's body as it charged forward, causing the tankmon to pop back up so it could use its arms to defend itself. The mechanorimon tackled it and quickly beat it down until it turned into a data cloud.

"Well I didn't expect that to happen." I said.

"Me neither." Kitty replied with relief.

"Did you see who was in that one?" I asked.

"No, it was moving too fast." Kitty said.

"Eh we'll find out later." I replied.

The massive group of icedevimon we were fighting had completely dispersed to run from the mad tankmon, so we were kind of just standing out in the eye of all the ongoing chaos at the moment. A different group was gathered around the goddesses, who had to be getting tired by now. One of the toyagumon helicopters tried to strafe us, Kitty used phantom pain which caused it to break apart into a lot of individual toy agumon which then fell to the ground, most of them were destroyed on impact and the few that weren't were pretty trivial to take down. I guess we stuck out because it was only a few seconds before the icedevidramon and Frostwyvernmon started raining icicles down on us. Icicles large enough that a direct hit from them would be crippling.

They were still too high up to counter attack so we focused entirely on dodging them. Then a mammothmon started to charge at us which was a lot more annoying. The ground shook as it approached and made it somewhat difficult to move. The icicles that were now scattered all around weren't helping things either.

"It's just one thing after another." I managed to say as it stampeded towards us.

"You take the right side I'll take the left. You go first so it tries to go for you, I don't think I can survive a hit from it." I said as I brandished the sword.

"Ok." Kitty replied as she took a few steps ahead of me while we moved around frantically trying to avoid the icicles.

"Wait for my signal." I said.

The mammothmon fired its tusks, they span towards us, their path was hard to predict and they were fast.

Kitty dodged the one coming for her. The sword did it's thing and managed to deflect the one coming for me, but just barely. It went off to the left and implanted itself into the ground. Pain went through my arms. An icicle clipped my shoulder, making it that much worse, I was struggling to control the pain now. Waiting for it to come to us wasn't an option anymore, we needed to move.

"Go." I said prompting Kitty to run towards the charging beast. I followed, she went for its right side, it turned its head and tried to swat her away with its trunk as it hadn't reloaded its tusks yet, which gave me the opening I needed to go for its left.

I slashed it across the left side of it's body. Kitty initially stabbed it in the cheek when it turned its head to try to protect itself before pulling the nail back out spinning around and sticking it back in about halfway down its right side.

It turned around regenerated its tusks and immediately fired, both missed us completely but sent dust and bone fragments everywhere when they shattered against the ground. Then it charged at me as Kitty went for its left side stabbed it in the pre-existing cut I had made earlier then got on top of it and stabbed it several times in the back as I managed to get out its path, since it was now too busy trying to throw her off to keep an eye on me. It started jumping around frantically which made the ground shake like crazy as I tried to figure out how to get another attack in when it was getting really hard just to keep standing. Eventually it managed to throw her off then it turned and started to charge at her its tusks reloaded, it fired them almost immediately missing her again but this time the shrapnel managed to hit her legs. I started chasing it but couldn't quite keep up and they both started to get further and further away from me.

"Hey! Lead it back over here!" I yelled, probably in vane as there was so much going on she probably didn't hear me.

It was no use trying to get her attention so I switched to using shogun sword attacks, while she was busy trying to avoid being stabbed by its tusks, I took a shot a hit it square in the ass. Causing it to turn around and run straight towards me. Another attack hit it in the head, burning it pretty badly, but the damned thing was still charging. It was starting to look like a zombie at this point. I was getting tired of this. If it fired its tusks again, would the shrapnel spill too much blood? I couldn't risk it.

"Aggron, you can take it from here buddy." I said as I pushed the button on his ball and threw it a short distance in front of me. He came out, immediately caught the wounded beast, stopping it in it's tracks, it fired it's tusks. they struck his body and shattered. Aggron winced in pain when they hit, so they may have slightly hurt him, but it was nothing to be concerned about. The mammothmon figured it was outmatched, wrenched itself away from him and ran back towards Kitty. As Aggron slowly followed it. Kitty threatened it with the nazzar nail, it turned away from her remembering what happened last time and basically ran in a circle around us, seemingly confused, or maybe just looking for an opening. Kitty got in front of me on one side and with Aggron on the other I was pretty safe. Aggron started to claw at the ground digging a trench in front of himself, then he started to press the dirt together into pretty large and heavy clumps, which he then threw at the mammothmon. This struck it in its side and was surprisingly heavy enough to knock it over.

"Nice shot, he's down." I said.

"Gron." Aggron chimed in.

It got back up with some struggling and immediately charged at Aggron, who lowered his head and charged in turn. It fired it's tusk again, they disintegrated upon contact with Aggron's head, they closed the distance, and the digimon bursted into data on impact. Aggron stood up tall and seemed pretty disappointed that it turned into a cloud of data and not a bloody mess like he was expecting. He rubbed his head, slightly hurt again, but still ok.

"Why didn't you send him out to begin with?" Kitty asked.

"I'm not used to it anymore, it's been so long, and they tend to get hurt pretty easily, I mean look how he's rubbing his head, he felt something." I said.

"Thanks buddy I owe you one." I said to him.

He looked at me and smiled I returned him to his ball, unsure how I was ever going to get enough scrap iron to properly reward him.

"You getting tired Kitty kat?" I said.

"I'm always tired." She replied.

"Well, you know what I mean. Look, babe, I can't take another hit like that, my arms will shatter." I said.

"And then Phoebe will freak out." Kitty said.

"Why did you send Aggron out what's going on?" Phoebe asked after she teleported in front of us.

"Speak of the devil." I said.

"Had to deal with a mammothmon that really didn't want to die." I said.

"So you got hurt again?" She asked.

"Pheebles you know I can't help it, it comes with the job. Shouldn't you be helping Saphy right now?" I asked.

"Yeah, but I wanted to make sure you're ok. Do you know how hard it is for me to keeping fighting not knowing if you're ok?" Phoebe said.

"I love you Pheebles, but you know you need to get back to Saphy, I'll see you later." I said.

"I know." Phoebe said, disappointed.

"And keep your head in the fight, not on me. I'll be back out in a bit." I said.

"Right, and you get yourself healed before you get hurt even worse." She said before quickly kissing me on the cheek and teleporting away.

"You should probably get back out there too Kitty, help them out." I said.

"But I'm hurt too." Kitty replied.

"You're hurt, but we both know it's not as bad as I am. I'll heal first, you stay out here and we'll switch ok?" I said.

"Ok, well, don't get hurt when I'm not here to protect you." Kitty said.

"Make sure Pheebles doesn't get hurt herself." I said.

"Hehe ok." Kitty replied.

"Love you too babe." I said before she took off running back to the fight.

I headed into the safety of the trees and eventually found Henry, Claire, and Zari.

"Shouldn't you be out there?" Zari asked.

"My arms are wrecked. I need to heal. Everything going good over here?" I asked.

"About the same as always, nobody has tried to attack us yet, so I guess that means it's going well." Zari replied.

"Shot down about half a dozen of them." Henry said.

"Yeah, they didn't have a chance." Claire agreed.

"Allright, well that's something atleast." I replied as I summoned a jar of healing cream from the digivice. Took off my coat and shirt and started rubbing it on my arms as quickly as I could so I could redress before I got too cold. Waited a few seconds until I could move my arms without feeling any pain, then I headed back out to go find Kitty.

"With a sword like that I could kill dozens." Ninjamon said.

"A sword like this would rip your arms right off of your body." I said.

"Say what?" Ninjamon asked.

"It has a mind of its own. " I said.

"Ok well how's Saphy doing?" Ninjamon asked.

"Um, no idea, I've been fighting with Kitty. She probably has her hands full though, since Pheebles seems to be more concerned about me. Anyway I need to get back out there, so, bye." I replied.

Phoebe and the digibabes were fighting a different group of icedevimon, Iceleomon was to the west, a few feet from the tree line, sort of protecting the firing squad, which also included his wives. He was fighting another mammothmon and seemed to be holding his own, the firing squad being close by also gave him a small, but definite advantage.

"Kitty Kat you let your guard down again." I said as I killed another Icedevimon that was about to attack her from behind.

"Sorry." She said.

"Here's a thing of cream, hurry and go heal yourself if you still want to." I said.

"Ok." Kitty replied.

"And don't fall asleep while you're away." I said, jokingly.

"I won't." She replied.

"Good you're here now she can help me and keep an eye on you." Saphy said.

"What do you think I've been doing this whole time Saphy?" Phoebe asked.

"Keeping an eye on him." Saphy replied.

"Really Pheebles?" I asked.

"I was worried, I'll get used to it, and Saphy needs more practice." She said.

"Not if it compromises this battle and we all die." I said.

"We won't, we're not." Phoebe said.

"Yet." A random icedevimon chimed in shortly before Phoebe killed him with one of her shurikens.

"Quit being silly." Phoebe said, rolling her eyes.

"Pheebles, your one of the strongest fighters on the whole team, that's just a fact baby girl, you're amazing, but if you can't give 100% you know how much that cripples us?" I asked.

"How am I supposed to give 100% if we keep talking?" Phoebe dodged the question.

"Fine we'll talk later." I said as I fought off another Icedevimon.

"Yes, we will." Phoebe replied.

The enemy numbers were starting to run thin, so it wasn't much longer when we finally made it to the goddesses.

"Reinforcements have arrived." Dianamon said matter of factly.

"Took you long enough." Mervamon said.

"I didn't think a goddess such as you would need reinforcements." Phoebe replied, cheekily.

"Well if somebody wasn't distracted by her husband we would've made it faster." Saphy pointed out.

"Saphy be quiet." Phoebe said.

"No." Saphy refused.

"rrrrrrrrrr" Phoebe grumbled.

"Awwwwwwe, you're so cute when you do that." Saphy said.

"Yes she is." I agreed.

"Cj, not you too." Phoebe said, cutely.

"Ok, well, unless you guys are going to start fucking or whatever, let's clear out the rest and get going, I want to make it to the terminal by nightfall." Mervamon replied as one of the newbies was taking down the last of the tankmon and the other two were starting to deal with the threats in the sky.

"Where is your mechanorimon?" Phoebe asked.

"The mammothmon shot them down, we didn't have enough time to react." Dianamon said.

"Where's their data clouds?" Phoebe asked.

"Back there, in the trees, other side of the tracks, over that way." Dianamon said.

"Cj you want to go look for them?" Phoebe asked.

"Ok fine." I replied.

"Kitty go with him." Phoebe said as I started to head for the area Dianamon pointed to earlier.

"Ok." Kitty replied before following me.

"You're not coming?" I asked.

"We'll get things cleaned up out here." Phoebe replied.

"She seemed eager to send you away." Kitty said once we were somewhat away from her.

"She probably thinks I'm safer doing this than staying out here. It's allright we'll let her win this one." I said.

"Why?" Kitty asked.

"The battle is pretty much over, she can go help take down the rest, it's no big deal." I replied.

"According to Saphy she spent more time watching you today then fighting." Kitty said.

."Probably because we were pretty far apart. You know how she worries. If I could teleport up there I'd probably check on her too, every once in a while. " I said.

"And then you'd leave me to fight on my own?" Kitty replied.

"No I'd just pop up, make sure she's still alive and not in a bad situation, and then come back down and rejoin the fight. It'd only take a couple seconds." I said.

"I think she spent more than a couple seconds." Kitty said.

"Probably, the way Saphy was complaining. Anyway where the hell are these data clouds we're supposed to be looking for." I said.

"I don't know, did we go the right way?" Kitty asked.

"I think so, they should be somewhere in this general area, let's fan out and look around." I replied.

"No, we're not doing that." Kitty protested.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because if you do get hurt, she's never going to trust me with you again." Kitty said.

"It's too late for that remember? I already got bruised up pretty bad by those icicles." I said.

"I mean seriously hurt. Like, I don't know your arm getting cut off or something." Kitty said.

"Yeah, she'd go even more ballistic over that." I said.

"Exactly!" Kitty replied.

"Allright fair enough, but I don't think there will be any enemies over here." I said.

"I thought that a lot of times too." Kitty said.

"Yeah, but, you're you." I said.

"That doesn't mean there won't be anything out here." Kitty said.

"Yeah, there's always a chance, even if it's less than 1 percent." I replied.

"That's all it takes to lose your arms." Kitty said.

"Allright, just keep your eyes open Kitty Kat." I replied.

Eventually we found their data clouds and collected them so they could reconstitute themselves safely once they regained consciousness.

"Allright here they are, let's just get them and go Kitty, if we're quick enough we might be able to pick off one of the last of the enemies just to annoy Pheebles." I said.

"Is that a good idea?" Kitty asked as she collected their clouds.

"Eh, she knows I love her." I replied as we started to head back out.

We had only been walking for a few seconds when their clouds started to glow.

"Cj they're waking up." Kitty said as she quickly set them both on the ground.

"Great." I replied as the clouds began to take form.

"SYSTEMS ONLINE, SCANNING SURROUNDINGS, SURROUNDINGS UNFAMILIAR." One of them said seconds after gaining consciousness.

"AFFIRMATIVE, SURROUNDINGS UNFAMILIAR." Said the other.

"Loud! Loud! Loud!" Kitty complained as she covered her ears.

"Sorry, but you guys got destroyed again." I replied.

"NEGATIVE, SYSTEMS ONLINE, ALL FUNCTIONS NORMAL." They both said at the same time.

"Never mind, just follow us." I said.

"AFFIRMATIVE." They both replied.

"ATTEMPTING TO ESTABLISH COMMUNICATIONS." One of them said as we made our way back.

"COMMUNICATIONS ESTABLISHED, 783, 658, 650, 384, IN RANGE." It said a few seconds later, apparently referring to the other mechanorimon.

"ARE YOU NOT GOING TO REQUEST TO FLY BACK?" One of them asked, which caught me off guard.

" No, no we're not, it's not that far of a walk." I replied.

"UNDERSTOOD." It replied.

"4 GIGABYTES OF DATA MISSING!" The other blurted out.

I wanted to ask how much they had, but couldn't stand the sound of their voice. For the record they tend to say this every time they come back after being destroyed.

"CONFIRMED MISSING 4 GIGABYTES!" Said the other.

"We'll just have to get them some more data then." I said.

"Mhm, although." Kitty replied

"What?" I asked.

"If they lose enough maybe they'll de-digivolve into something cuter and less annoying." Kitty said.

"Yeah but then they won't be nearly as much help and nobody could ride in them." I pointed out.

"So?" Kitty asked.

"We're running out of room on the bus and if one of the newbies has to walk, we're going to lose so much time." I said.

"Oh ok, we better get them some more then." Kitty said.

"Right we'll give them some of yours. If that's allright, you've had to have taken in more than that through all of this." I replied.

"I don't know, I can't figure out exactly how much I have." Kitty replied.

"Ok just let me get the data gun." I said as I messed around with my digivice.

-a few seconds later-

"Um, Kitty kat?" I asked.

"What?" Kitty replied.

"I tried to read how much data you have, and it just say "ERR" "I said.

"Air?" She asked.

"No Err as in error, it can't read you." I said.

"What does that mean?" She asked.

"I don't know, either the gun is broke or something with you is broke." I replied.

"I'm not broke I can still hold my mega form." Kitty said.

"True, I honestly don't know why it's not reading you." I replied.

"Anyway I don't want to give them yours now because I don't know what will happen if I do, so um, lets see if we can use Saphy's." I said.

"Ok." She replied.

-A few more minutes later after rejoining Phoebe and Saphy on the other side of the tracks.-

"They already came back." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, we didn't even have time to get out of the trees before they woke up. There any enemies left?" I asked.

"Nope. You're too late, sorry." Phoebe replied.

"You know what that means?" I asked.

"No." She replied.

"That's it safe to squish you!" I said as I playfully put my arms around her stomach and gave her a squeeze, her and her big puffy coat.

"No it's not because I'm gonna squish you back!" She playfully replied as she turned around and tried to push me down but failed spectacularly.

"What was that?" I asked as she tried to push me.

"Just lay down." She replied as she kept trying to push me in vain.

"No, that's not how this works." I replied.

"Kitty, can you be a good virara and push him down for me please?" Phoebe asked.

"Why?" Kitty asked.

"So I can squish him! Why else? I can't do it myself he's too big." Phoebe replied.

"No." Kitty refused.

"Oh come on, take my side for once." Phoebe replied.

"I don't want to hurt him." Kitty said.

"Oh Kitty Kat, we're just playing, I would never do that. I would never let you do that." Phoebe said.

"Shouldn't we be getting ready to leave?" Saphy asked.

"Saphy if you help me push him down we can leave faster." Phoebe said, mischievously.

"Oh so now you need my help?" Saphy asked.

"Oh come on don't be like that." Phoebe replied.

"Yeah, we're just having a little fun, relax." I replied.

"Wuv you Pheebles." I said, playfully as I ruffled her puffy winter coat.

"Love you, now quit messing with my coat, you goofball." She replied.

"Anyway Saphy I need to check something on you." I said as I stopped messing around.

"What?" Saphy asked.

"You know the mechanorimon lose some data every time they get destroyed?" I asked.

"Yeah, all digimon do." Saphy replied.

"Yeah well I tried to give them some of Kitty's but the gun couldn't tell how much she had." I said.

" So if you don't mind holding still for a second." I said as I held the data gun up to her, only to be met with the same error message.

"And it can't read you either." I said.

"Well that's strange. Did you check your digivice? It should be able to keep track of how much Kitty has too." Saphy replied.

"No I didn't think of that, but I am now." I said as I scrolled through the menu. The screen that I think was supposed to say how much she had, I wasn't sure I never really accessed it before, it gave some ordinary and somewhat useless statistics, most of which could simply be observed by looking at her, things that made no sense, such as her current heart rate when it's been proven she doesn't have a physical heart, and then ended in a long chain of illegible characters where the amount of data she consisted of would have been stated.

"Annnnd, I can't read this." I said as I showed her.

"Oooookaaaay." Saphy replied, seemingly confused.

"Phoebe check mine please." Saphy said.

"Ok just give me a moment, how did you get there Cj?" Phoebe asked as she pulled her digivice out of her coat pocket.

"Here, I'll show you." I said as I got behind her.

"scroll down, go to vital information." I said.

"Ok." Phoebe replied.

"Yeah I can't read it either." Phoebe sad when she got a similar result.

"Where's IceLeomon? I know the gun worked on him once." Phoebe said.

"I think he went into to the trees to regroup with his wives and the shooting team, we have to go there anyway to get the weapons back so we might as well head on over." I said.

" Ok, let's go then." Phoebe replied.

"You guys, um, whatever your numbers are, you need to get back to the goddesses." I said to the two mechanorimon.

"AFFIRMATIVE" They replied.

"So, Pheebles, do you know where they went?" I asked.

"Over that way." Phoebe replied as she pointed.

"OK then you two need to go over that way until you see them." I said.

"AFFIRMATIVE." They replied as they complied, loudly clattering in the direction Phoebe pointed out.

"Allright let's go see Iceleomon." I said as they left.

"Right." Phoebe agreed.

So we headed back over to the trees and located the shooting team, who seemed to have traveled a bit further north since I had seen them earlier.

"Is there anybody else out there that needs to be taken down?" Zari asked as we approached.

"I don't think so." I replied.

"Yeah, there's nobody left." Phoebe added.

"Where's IceLeomon? We need to see him." Phoebe asked a moment later.

"He went off in that direction with his wives." Zari replied.

"Right, thanks Zari." Phoebe said as she headed towards where she had pointed.

"If you want to start gathering up the weapons that'd be great." I said.

"Already on it, go see Henry if you want them." Zari replied.

"Cool." I said before leaving to catch up to Phoebe and Saphy, Kitty decided to stay with me.

"Come on Cj." Phoebe said.

"Slow down baby girl I need to talk to Zari too." I said.

"Well make it quick, I want to get to the bottom of this before we leave." Phoebe said.

"We will. There's no more enemies around, we don't have to be in such a hurry." I replied.

"Another group could show up at any time Cj." Phoebe replied.

"Stop worrying so much and slow down." Kitty chimed in.

"There you go, taking his side again." Phoebe said.

"He's my tamer, I have too." Kitty replied.

"No you do not, you're our virara, you don't always have to side with him." Phoebe said.

"Well maybe if you picked a better side." Kitty said.

"I wonder what would happen if I kissed Zari right now?" I asked.

"I'd punch you in the face for dragging me into this." Zari replied.

"Eh, fair enough." I said.

"Why would you do that? Kiss me instead." Kitty said.

"Just to piss Pheebles off." I replied.

"You think that's a good idea?" Zari asked.

"No, but that doesn't make it less fun." I said before Kitty went and decided to pull me into a kiss just gently enough not to hurt, for the record, she's a lot stronger than either of her forms would suggest, not quite superhumanly strong, but close and it does get her in trouble at times because she just doesn't know her own strength.

"What the hell Kitty?" I asked after we inevitably kissed back and forth a few times.

"See, I'll kiss you." She said,playfully.

"Yeah, I see, you're good at that." I replied before kissing her back.

"Are you seriously making out with Kitty right now?" Phoebe asked, somewhat angrily.

" Well she kissed me and it's nearly impossible for me to not kiss her back. You want a kiss too Pheebles?" I asked.

"No I want you both to get your butts over here." Phoebe replied.

"We should go." I said.

"Yeah." Kitty agreed.

"See you on the bus Zari." I said.

"Yeah, see you." She replied.

"There, was that so hard?" Phoebe asked once we caught up with her and Saphy.

"You're not mad at me for kissing him?" Kitty asked.

"Not really, I know you have feelings for each other, but still, come here Cj." Phoebe said as she pulled me into a kiss and started to make out with me, more passionately.

"Oh Pheebles." I said, in a completely enamored state.

"We have feelings too." Phoebe said.

"I love both of you, now stop kissing me, your driving me insane." I replied.

"Yeah, let's get all of this figured out and taken care of first. Then we can take turns kissing him on the bus." Phoebe said.

"Yeah," Kitty replied enthusiastically.

"And we'll just give him major blue balls until we get to the terminal and then you can play with him all night." Phoebe said.

"Yeah." Kitty replied.

"There you go, now you're taking my side." Phoebe said.

"You girls." I said with a sigh.

"I don't envy you." Saphy said.

":Well if Kitty is with me, that means she'll probably be with you." I said.

"Yeah, that's the plan, but we're probably going to do a bit more talking than messing around." Phoebe said.

"Yeah but you're going to be just as naked as we will be by the end of it." I pointed out.

"Yeah, probably, now that's enough of that let's find Iceleomon already." Phoebe said.

"Oh wait, nevermind let's wait a bit." Phoebe said a few seconds later.

"What? Why?" I asked.

Let's go get the weapons gathered up Cj." Phoebe said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Um, he's having special time with his wives." Phoebe replied.

"Oh." I replied.

"In the snow?" Saphy asked.

"Yeah, it doesn't really bother them, um why don't we just leave them alone and let them finish, I don't think they'll be long. I'm just going to try to bleach their thoughts out of my mind and done." Phoebe said.

"What's ninjamon doing?" I asked.

"I don't know, he's not over there though. I think Chally is guarding them." Phoebe said.

"Is she taking part?" I asked.

"No she's just guarding them so nobody finds them, doing that. His wives would never allow it. Besides, she's ours." Phoebe said.

"Really?" I asked.

"More or less. I know you like her." Phoebe said.

"Well she's a pretty thing." I said.

"Mhm." Phoebe agreed.

"What about me?" Kitty asked.

"What about you? You're the closest thing I have to a second wife, don't worry about it. It's Pheebles, then you, then the rest of our group, then everyone else." I said.

"What about violet?" Saphy asked.

"Probably just barely higher than everyone else at this point. I'm not sure if I completely trust her even." I said.

"Zari?" Phoebe asked.

"Somewhere between Chally and Kitty." I said.

"How close to me though?" Kitty asked.

"Not very, definitely closer to Chally then to you." I said.

"What about Ronnie?" Phoebe asked.

"Higher than you because she wouldn't ask stupid questions like that." I said.

"Really?" Phoebe asked.

"It'd be a close tie, but she's gone, so, don't worry about it." I said.

"Really?" Phoebe asked.

"Pheebles, she was as much of my wife as you are." I said.

"So if I found you while she was still alive. " Phoebe began to ask.

"It depends on when you would find us. If it was in the first few years of our marriage, I'd call the whole thing off and leave with you, if you found us after our daughter was born, then she's coming with us, if it was towards the end of her life, she'd kick me out of the house and force me to go with you. But we always had a sort of agreement that if we did find you, you'd both be equals. My greatest regret with her, Pheebles, baby girl, is you'll only ever know who she was through my memories." I said.

"Now come on, let's get these weapons gathered so we can get back to traveling." I said.

"Right." Phoebe replied.

"I remember her too." Kitty said.

"Yeah, but I can't read your memories, and from what I've heard, please don't take this wrong Kitty Kat, but I'm not really sure I'd even want to if I could." Phoebe said.

"Hehe, yeah, some of them you don't." I replied.

"I know what you mean." Kitty said.

"Good." Phoebe replied.

"Thankfully that's all in the past now." I said.

"Mhm." Kitty agreed.

"Where are we going Pheebles?" I asked as she seemed to be leading the way.

"Over to Henry and Claire, duh, they should be over this way somewhere." Phoebe replied as we all heard the newbies land nearby with their mechanorimon.

"And here come the newbies." Phoebe said.

"Maybe we can find out which one saved us earlier." Kitty said.

"Shhh, Kitty Kat." I said.

"Saved you from what?" Phoebe asked.

"The tankmon." Kitty said.

"Just think for a second Kitty kat come on." I said.

"Do I even want to know why that happened?" Phoebe asked.

"No you don't." I replied.

"Well you're both still alive so I'll just let it go." Phoebe said.

"Thankyou Pheebles." I replied.

"Cj?" She said.

"what?" I asked in return.

"Just try not to let things like that happen too often please." She replied.

"Yeah, that's fair I guess." I replied.

"It's way more than fair." Phoebe said.

"I can't teleport away like you can Pheebles." I said.

"I know that's why you should be more cautious. You should have sent out Aggron then." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, that would have worked, I just got so used to fighting with the sword." I replied.

"Cj, if you get yourself killed out there I will never forgive you." Phoebe said.

"I know, I know." I replied.

"I kind of wish you'd just stay on the shooting team with the others." Phoebe said.

"Yeah I know, you want to die out there on your own." I said.

"No I want you to be safe." Phoebe replied.

"He is." Kitty chimed in.

"Yeah. You said I'd be safe if I stayed with her and I did." I replied.

"Well I must have been wrong about that then." Phoebe said.

"Which means you could also be wrong about me being safe." I replied.

"What? No, that's, that's not how that works." She struggled to reply.

"Well if you didn't know about that what else didn't you know about Pheebles?" I asked.

"RRRRRRRRR." She cutely, but seriously growled at me in anger.

"Really?" I asked.

"I just don't want you to get hurt." She said, noticeably upset.

"Well I'm not trying to." I said.

"But you're taking risks you don't need to take!" She said.

"So are you. Relax." I said.

"Not to the same degree you are." Phoebe replied.

"What about my safety?" Saphy said. "You spent more time watching him then supporting me"

"You, are not both my husband and the father of my children, and you can take a lot more hits than he can." Phoebe said.

"Still more hits than you can." I said.

"I don't get hit." Phoebe said.

"Yes you do, you have before!" I replied.

"Kitty, you were with him for twenty years, how do I win this?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know." Kitty replied.

"She doesn't try to talk me out of these things." I said.

"Did Aranea?" Phoebe asked.

"She'd freak out just like you if I got hurt, but she understood why I take these risks." I said.

"Well why do you?" Phoebe asked."

"Why do you?" I asked her in return.

"Look, just remember you have Aggron, and, try not to get hurt." She said.

"I am trying. You think I want you to cry over me? If I get too tired to keep going, I'll switch out with Henry, but you know, I wanna be out there with you as much as I can." I replied.

"Ok then." She replied.

"We good then, you calming down?" I asked.

"Yeah." She replied.

"Good, because I ain't stopping, we used to fight alongside each other all the time, why would things change now baby girl? Why would they change?" I said.

"Enough already, I get it." She said.

"Ok good. I don't want to have this argument again." I replied.

"We won't." She said.

"Good." I said.

We found Henry and Claire a short time later, they were all kind of spread out, as the trees only had enough cover for one person at a time. I wasn't sure how Zari ended up all on her own, but there was several trees between her and the rest of the shooting team. Ninjamon was also off on his own as well, but they all went ahead and already got the weapons gathered up so I could put them in the digivice for easy storage. While it would have been awesome to get a hold of a few of the tankmon's machineguns, the oppourtunity just hadn't presented itself so far. Only the digimon were safe to go near them after all, it also wasn't clear at this point whether we could use them or not. Their cannons were a definite no, as they were physically part of their head, and even if that weren't the case, they're also ridiculously heavy.

It was easier to just have Kitty hypnotize them as they seemed to be pretty crazy and most seem to have very little concern for what or who they're actually shooting at.

"Allright, I'm pretty sure there's no more enemies left here. So we just have to check on some things with IceLeomon then we can keep heading north." I said as the newbies approached, sans mechanorimon.

"I don't know where he went, haven't seen him for awhile." Henry said.

"He's off having special time with his wives so we're just waiting for him to finish." Phoebe said.

"He's what?" Illustria asked.

"You heard me, so don't go looking for him, they'll come back when they're done." Phoebe said.

"Also which one of you saved my husband from a tankmon earlier?" Phoebe asked.

"What?" Illustria asked.

"We couldn't see who was inside because they were moving too fast." I said.

"Mhm." Kitty agreed.

"Oh, that might have been me, I don't think I saw you though, I just saw a tankmon not looking at me and figured I'd be a good target." Kiera said.

"I killed one too." Illustria said.

"Same." Selenia chimed in.

"Guess I have to do some memory scans. Come here Lussy you can go first." Phoebe said.

"Oh Pheebles, its not that important, they all helped." I said.

"Yeah, leave my memories alone please." Selenia said.

"None of them remember seeing me anyway, they already said that." I replied.

"Just because they can't remember it doesn't mean it's not in their heads somewhere." Phoebe said.

"Could they have seen him though, he was hiding behind me." Kitty pointed out.

"Really Cj you were using her as a shield?" Phoebe asked, somewhat jokingly.

"She can take the hit, I can't. She knows this and she's protected a lot of others that way when we were in the USC. " I replied.

"Mhm." Kitty agreed.

"You still should have sent out Aggron." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, I know." I replied.

"So did any of you see Kitty then?" Phoebe asked.

"No, were all watching the tankmon and all the other enemies." Illustria replied.

"Ok well, I guess we'll just have to thank all of you then." Phoebe said.

"How?" Illustria asked.

"We'll get you some drinks sometime or something." I said quickly, knowing what Phoebe would say if I gave her time to answer.

"Ohh, allright, that's fair enough." Phoebe said.

"You sure you don't want something else Cj?" Illustria asked.

"He has plans with Kitty tonight." Phoebe said.

"Ooooooh." Illustria replied while the other two laughed.

"What plans? it's your plan." I said.

"Yeah, because you wanted to spend the night with me." Saphy chimed in.

"Oh, but I know Cj's looking forward to it." Phoebe said.

"He really is?" Kitty asked.

"Oh yeah, he loves you." Phoebe replied.

"I love you too Pheebles." I said as I hugged her.

"I know, otherwise we wouldn't be doing this." Phoebe said.

"You're really turning them down?" Henry asked.

"Yeah, just trust me, these two are enough of a handleful, especially the little one." I said.

"Hey." Phoebe replied.

"I'll take your word for it." Henry replied.

"What are you guys all talking about? Claire asked as she joined the group.

"Cj is going to screw kitty's brains out tonight." Phoebe said.

"You just say the most embarrassing thing you possibly can don't you?" I asked.

"It's funny, your face turns so red." Phoebe replied.

"You see Kitty this is why I try to piss her off, because . . . "

"Oh so you were trying to make me mad." Phoebe interrupted.

"You already knew that." I said.

"Maybe. But why?" Phoebe cutely asked.

"Well I was going to say, but you cut me off and now I forgot what I was going to say." I said.

"You need help remembering?" She asked as she offered her hand.

"No. I need you to settle down and stop blowing everything out of proportion." I replied.

"But you want to make me mad." She replied.

"I wanted too, now I'm bored with it, besides the instance I was referring to didn't work out anyway." I said.

"Huh?" She asked.

"It's not important." I said.

"Do you guys ever not do this?" Illustria asked.

"Sometimes." I said.

"When they're having sex." Kitty said with a laugh.

"Kitty, what the hell?" I asked.

"Oh sometimes they're so cute together you wouldn't believe it." Claire said.

"Like when they're having sex." Kitty said, thinking she was the funniest thing in the world as everyone else was laughing with her.

"You were alone together last night weren't you?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah but I meant before all this, before we met any of you. Things have changed so much since then." Phoebe said.

"Ok let's get ready to leave, why don't you girls head up there for a moment see if there's any enemy formations we need to maneuver around? You two need to get back to your car, and we're still waiting on Iceleomon and his wives." I said.

"Elishen and Kaytori." Kitty chimed in.

"That's their names?" I asked.

"Yes, you should know them by now, I remember them." Kitty said.

" He's afraid he might get too close to them." Phoebe said.

"Allright well, see you when we quit for the night I guess." Illustria said.

"Bye, oh and Lussy check on the goddesses too make sure they're allright and getting ready to leave." Phoebe added.

"Right we will check on her holiness lady mervamon and friends." Illustria replied, jokingly.

"Just do it, I know she can be abrasive, but she's strong and they've helped us a lot." Phoebe said.

"I know." Illustria replied as her and the other newbies headed for the mechanorimon.

"Cj before you say anything I'm not like that at all." Phoebe said.

"I know, I wasn't going to say anything." I replied.

"Good." Phoebe said.

"You're just sweet enough to not be abrasive." I said as I playfully ruffled her coat.

"Hey, um, where did darkvioletmon go?" Saphy asked.

" Who knows? She might be back on the bus already. Staring out her window, just waiting for us." Phoebe said.

"Maybe she's behind you?" I asked.

"What she is?" Phoebe asked before turning around to see absolutely nothing.

"Got you." I replied.

"Oh Cj, you big goofball." She said, unamused.

"Maybe she's behind you." Kitty said.

"Yeah that's not going to work Kitty Kat." I replied.

"Yeah, you gotta be more creative." Phoebe said.

"How?" She asked.

"I don't know, but you can't just do the same thing he just did." Phoebe said.

"Is Iceleomon done yet?" Saphy asked.

"I am not going to try to find out, they'll come this way when they're done." Phoebe said.

"Can't we just head back to the bus and wait for them there?" I asked.

"Yeah, I guess we could." Phoebe replied.

"Allright then let's go." I said.

So we headed back to the bus where we could relax in relative comfort. As halfway expected DarkVioletmon was already there, quietly sitting in her usual seat, while Zari sat across from her, unsuccessfully trying to get her to say something.

"Finally some real company." Zari said as we climbed onboard.

"You trying to get her to talk?" Phoebe asked.

"Trying yes, succeeding no." Zari replied.

"Saphy used to be the quiet one, but she takes it to a whole new level." Phoebe said.

"I know, right?" Saphy agreed as Phoebe took her coat off and set it on the overhead luggage rack.

"She just looks at us and says nothing." Zari said.

"Yep." Phoebe replied as she took off one of my shirts that she was wearing over one of her normal dresses to be extra warm.

"Anyway we're tired, we're going to lie down for a bit, but we can still talk if you want." Phoebe said.

"Ok." Zari replied.

A minute or so later after putting our winter clothes away, I was snuggling with my ladies in bed. Saphy and Zari were at the table.

"Laying here with you girls, makes all the fighting worth it." I said with a sigh.

"You know we could have some fun before everyone else gets back and we have to start moving again." Phoebe said.

"Too risky, another enemy group could find us at any moment, that and Henry and Claire aren't that far behind us are they?" I asked.

"Oh they're far enough away, the windows are blacked out and the bus really doesn't rock that much." Phoebe said.

"You should wait until we stop for the night like you have been." Zari said.

"Oh come on, just a little bit of fun?" Kitty asked.

"I don't think it's the best idea Pheebles." I said.

"Let's just start kissing him until he complies." Phoebe said.

"Ok." Kitty replied.

"No, no, we are not doing this right now." I said shortly before both of them started kissing my cheeks.
