81. The post game

-chapter 81, searching for Ophanimon-

If this were a video game, we were now firmly in the post game, the big bad was destroyed, now we just had some loose ends to tie up between the goddesses and Ophanimon. Our total time in the digital world had been several months, if not a year or more and our time to leave was approaching.

You may think that defeating deusmon may have created some sort of time paradox, where he never would have threatened the space fairing universe, thus we would have been a little less motivated to leave, among other things, but, as the digital world we were in was part of a whole separate universe, it was even more complicated than that as it essentially caused a whole new subset of universes to be created, the one we were in, the one where deusmon threatened that universe, and one where he didn't and we eventually found our way back to a pretty much identical, but separate digital world at an earlier date because the Zelusians didn't have the motivation to steal Phoebe's time machine, which subsequently meant we never met the newbies or found IceLeomon, Zari didn't leave the Zelusians for good, and Henry and Claire remained bounty hunters. So Phoebe, me and the digibabes ended up back in the digital world alone, and were eventually defeated, leading to a recursive feedback loop where deusmon threatened that universe once again, and in this subset of universes, that process will go on until the end of time.

Thankfully, we weren't in that universe.

Anyway, we slept in later than usual, as we had gotten to bed way later than usual.

"I'm still wearing my coat." Phoebe said to me first thing in the morning.

"Hehe, me too, guess we were really tired." I replied.

"Yeah, really really." Phoebe replied.

"But that means I get to do this." I said as I squished her coat.

"Oh no, not that." She replied with a giggle as I moved on to playfully tickle her a little bit.

"Not everyday I get the luxury to do this in bed." I said.

"The luxury of squishing my coat?" She asked.

"Yep." I replied.

She let out a sigh.

"Let's take them off and snuggle under the covers." She said.

"Oh, ok." I replied as I removed my coat. Phoebe removed hers as well, then prompted me to help her with her boots.

"I guess we just came in and went out like lights." I said.

"I guess." She replied.

"Do my feet stink?" She playfully asked as I helped her out of her boots.

"Maybe a little more than usual, still cold though." I replied as I got mine off as well.

"Well maybe you can warm them up?" She asked.

"Maybe I'll just tickle them, I'm in more of a mood to just tickle you today." I playfully replied as I did so.

"Nonono bad Cj." She said as she squirmed.

"Yes yes yes you cute little thing." I replied.

"No!" She said as she laughed as I moved up and started tickling her sides before finally coming face to face with her and getting lost in her eyes.

"Oh, Fuck I love you, you know that?." I said, softly.

"I love you too." She replied with a smile before kissing me.

"Where's Kitty?" I asked as I realized she wasn't in the room.

"I think she's in her own bed. Or did she sleep on the floor again?" My beloved replied.

"If she comes in here she can join right?" I asked after checking to make sure she wasn't on the floor.

"Of course." Phoebe replied.

"Allright then let's have some fun." I said.

"Yeah, come here you ornery boy." She said as she pulled me into a deep kiss and we started to make out before I helped her out of her dress and panties and we moved onto other more serious acts of love. We ended up finishing before Kitty even woke up, either that or she was just being polite and not barging in on us.

"That was pretty good for morning sex." I said, in love with her and satisfied.

"Yeah." She replied.

"I love you Pheebles." I said with a sigh.

"You want to spend the whole day in bed together?" She asked.

"We probably shouldn't. The others will want us out there helping them search that tower for sure." I said.

"Yeah, how about we bring Kitty in here for one more round then we'll get dressed and head outside? She delivered the final blow, she should get to celebrate too." She asked.

"We were celebrating?" I asked.

"I was, we should be. No more deusmon! The digital world and that space world and who knows how many other worlds are safe!" She said, cheerfully.

"You know we have sex almost every morning?" I replied.

"I know, but still." She said.

"Maybe we can go back to bachusmon's, have some real booze, and celebrate there? I mean it might be another week before we get there, but atleast there we could have a real party" I asked.

"Yeah that's a great idea, but don't drink that love juice again or whatever it was, that was too much." She said.

"Yeah. I don't even remember half that night." I agreed.

"Mhm." Phoebe agreed.

"And we get to have some fun with Angela tonight." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, that too." I said with a bit less optimism.

"Oh it'll be hot and fun and you know it." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, but I'm having so much fun with just you right now." I said.

"Awoh Cj. I love you too." She replied.

"And we'll bring Kitty Kat in too I guess." I said.

"Mhm, I know you love her." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, I can't deny it, she's been good to me. You both have, in your own ways." I replied.

"You want me to bring her in here or should we just go over there?" Phoebe asked.

"Let's just go over there." I said.

"You don't trust me to wake her up?" Phoebe asked.

"She'll be more comfortable if I wake her." I said.

"If you say so." She replied.

"But right now I just wanna snuggle with you and squeeze those boobies." I said.

"Ok, just be gentle, whatever gets you ready faster.' She said.

"Oh Pheebles, I love these big grey melons of yours." I said.

"I know." She replied.

"They'll stay like this so they're nice and big for Kitty." I said.

"No you gotta rub my nipples for that, you know that. Otherwise they'll just go back to their normal size." She replied.

"Oh like this then." I said as I did so.

"Yeah, keep doing that, it feels good." She replied with a sigh.

"Are you getting hard again yet?" She asked.

"I'll let you know." I said.

"Maybe I'll just see how many times I can get you off before then." I whispered.

"No, just keep this up it's fine.." She said, tiredly.

"Why not? I just want to pleasure you." I asked.

"Because I kind of just want to snuggle too." She said.

"Oh ok." I replied.

"Because I love my Cj.' She said, tiredly.

"I love you too baby girl, you sweet sweet thing." I replied.

"Always and forever?" She asked, cutely.

"Always and forever." I replied.

A little while later we went to go get Kitty up and play with her for a little bit before getting dressed and heading out together.

"Anyone else up yet?" I asked.

"Um, let me see." Phoebe said as she shut her eyes.

"Henry, Claire and Ninjamon are already heading for the tower, Zari is trying to catch up with them, newbies are still asleep, no surprise there, Challey is with them, weird, usually she stays with Zari and Saphy, and IceLeomon's wives are apparently sparring with eachother for his amusement." Phoebe said.

"Ok." I replied.

"Can I go wake the newbies up?" Kitty asked.

"No, they'll wake up when they wake up." I replied.

"Ok." Kitty said sounding somewhat disappointed.

'What about Violet and Angela?" I asked.

"No Idea I can't read them." Phoebe said.

"Phoebe!" Saphy approached us from Zari's house as we passed by.

"Oh hi, good morning Saphy." Phoebe replied.

"I wanted to walk with you today." Saphy said.

"That's fine, come along then." Phoebe replied.

"I can't believe deusmon is finally gone." Saphy said.

"Not quite, his data is still in those guns." Phoebe said.

"I know, but I don't think he can come back from that. Have you thought about how we're going to celebrate?" Saphy asked.

"Yeah, we're all going back to Bacchusmon's, if the goddesses will agree." Phoebe said.

"What if we find Ophanimon here though?" Saphy asked.

"We'll stay here long enough to go back to Bacchusmon's." Phoebe said. "We'll have rounds of booze and sex with everyone that's staying here before the rest of us move on."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, or do you want to just say goodbye? At the very least you should give Venusmon one more night to remember you by." Phoebe said.

"No." Kitty said.

"It's just one night Kitty." Phoebe said.

"I don't care. He doesn't have to and he shouldn't." Kitty replied.

"Kitty, we literally have the rest of eternity to be with him, and as far as we know, we're never coming back here." Phoebe said.

"I don't care." Kitty said.

"You want another night alone with him too?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeaaaaah." Kitty replied, fondly.

"Then shhhh." Phoebe said.

"What if I just want to spend every night with you two from now on?" I asked.

"Yeah right, I know you want to get in Angela's pants too, you just aren't assertive about it like me." Phoebe said.

"Oh really?" I asked.

"Mhm." She insisted.

"I mean, she's a cutey, but so are you, and you're my wife and we've known each other for way longer." I said.

"Yeah, but." She tried to continue.

"I'm letting you do this, for you, silly. Because I love you." I replied.

"Yeah, but you still have fun with it." Phoebe pointed out.

"Yeah, well, I gotta make the best of it. And I still have to do my best to make sure that you, don't get carried away." I said.

"If you say so, but then what about Zari?" She asked.

"Can I have a night with you guys sometime?" Saphy asked.

"Yeah, sometime, not for a while though." Phoebe replied.

"Side note, isn't Lillymon supposed to wake up today?" I asked.

"Yeah, I put her to sleep for a few more hours though, so we have time. Hopefully her mind is still intact, if not, I don't know what we're going to do with her." Phoebe said.

"Would the white digiroot help with that?" I asked.

"I don't know, she's been out for so long, and that's before you mention whatever deusmon's evil did to her." Phoebe replied.

"Couldn't have been that much if she reverted back to her normal form." I pointed out.

"Yeah, well, I'm not so sure." Phoebe said.

"What are you going to do if she's too far gone?" Saphy asked.

"I don't know, cry and try to take care of her?" Phoebe replied.

"Maybe Angela could heal her?" I asked.

"It's a big stretch, but maybe." Phoebe replied.

It was a long walk over to the tower, Henry, Claire, Ninjamon, and Zari were waiting for us outside.

"Hey they showed up." Henry said.

Zari came over and hugged me.

"Goodmorning Cj." She said.

"Goodmorning babe." I replied.

"You gonna be our virara yet?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know." Zari replied.

"Then don't hug him like that, only me and Kitty can." Phoebe said.

"I'm hugging him as a friend." Zari said.

"Yeah right." Phoebe replied.

She kissed me on the cheek before letting go.

"Oh now you're kissing him as a friend too huh? I know what you're thinking missy don't use that lame excuse on me." Phoebe asked.

"Pheebles?" I asked.

"What?" She asked.

"You cute when you're jealous you know that?" I asked.

"Not if you keep this up." She said.

"Ok, let's get down to business." I said.

"Yeah, this love quadrangle is making me sick, and, confused." Henry said.

"Mhm." Claire agreed.

"Tell about it." Saphy said.

"I figured you would know more." Henry asked.

"Nah, not really." Saphy replied.

"Did you go inside the building yet?" I asked.

"No we waited outside for you in case there were more enemies around inside." Zari said.

"I told 'em I could handle 'em, they wouldn't believe me." Ninjamon said.

"Smart." Phoebe said as we all approached the entrance.

There wasn't much to see inside, a big empty room, an elevator and some ramps and stair cases, one of each going up, another going down. No front desks or seating or a map specifying what's on each floor, not much to suggest a lobby that a building like this would probably be expected to have. Which indicated that this probably wasn't a copy of a building from the host world, such as those found at the big city area, which seemed to be a copy of a section of some unknown city, including many indestructible shops and skyscrapers. Anyway, there wasn't much to see or even comment on here so we quickly moved on and headed into the basement where we found a few rows of prison cells, a few were unlocked, suggesting they had been used at one point, but after splitting into three groups, I went with Phoebe, Kitty went with Henry, Claire, and Ninjamon, and Saphy went with Zari, we quickly discovered all of them were empty. This didn't give much hope, but we continued on to explore the upper floors anyway, each group taking a third of the tower.

Phoebe and I took the upper floors since she could quickly teleport to the top of the staircase and we could make our way down from there.

At the top there was quite an impressive view out to what looked like some sort of platform for a helipad that was likely what the dark rulers leaped off of the day before. The other 3 sides of the fairly large room had an impressive view of the city below. In the center there was a large table of ice and several seats around it, but not much else of note. There was a board with some information about us pinned to it, sketches of us, Volkheim or possibly any other of the Bubblemen that were with him, as the drawing wasn't detailed enough to show his face, and even the other chosen digimon we never met, all of which had a red x through their photos. Indicating they were no longer with us, due to the crudety of the sketches, they were kind of hard to identify, one looked like it could have been a lillymon, another looked like an andromon, one looked like another male digimon I wasn't familiar with at all, it seemed to be wearing a yellow suit of some sort, so as far as I could tell that meant it's powers might have been electricity based. I had no other cues to go on. He kind of looked like just a generic super hero. An unknown female digimon with a full suit of green armor that vaguely reminded me of rapidmon's, lillymon's powers were plant based, so she may have had wind powers or something, and finally, another unknown female digimon that looked like some sort of elf with light skin, white hair and a purple robe similar to a wisemon's that really didn't give any ideas what her powers were at all, unless maybe she was psychic like Phoebe, which would have been strange and somewhat redundant, but we'd never know for sure. Sadly, the digivice was incapable of identifying any of them just from the drawings.

"Is that supposed to be me?" Phoebe asked.

"Atleast they drew you better than me, I just look like, I don't know who that is actually but it's not me." I said.

"Hey looked at this though, there's Kitty, Saphy, Iceleomon, and woah Pheebles these must be the other chosen." I said.

"Hmm?" Phoebe said as she scanned the crossed out pictures.

"We were supposed to get a Lillymon anyway?" Phoebe asked.

"Maybe." I replied.

"Some dudes, and awe, some total cuties, I hope they didn't suffer." Phoebe said.

"That one almost looks like she could be your sister." I said as I pointed to the robe wearing elf.

"My creepy, robe-wearing sister." Phoebe said with a laugh.

"Don't tell me she's psychic too." Phoebe said.

"No idea, maybe she's a ghost." I replied.

"Well she is for sure, now." Phoebe replied.

"Maybe they're in this tower somewhere." I suggested.

"Who knows?" Phoebe replied.

"Ready to head to the next floor?" I asked.

"Yeah." She replied.

The next floor didn't contain much in the way of furniture, but it did contain a huge pile of gold and jewels.

"We should bring Kitty here later, she'll go crazy." I said, somewhat amazed at the sheer amount of gold.

"Why do they even have so much gold? I thought they were interested in data?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know, unless it's part of the building." I said as I walked over and picked a handful of it up.

"Nope it's real." I said, somewhat even more amazed then before.

"Maybe they liked shiny things too?" Phoebe asked.

The best explanation I could come up with is that it was so they had something other than data to barter with, so they could recruit a handful of stronger digimon outright that were more interested in shiny things than data. Though as the civilian population dwindled, and strong digimon became even more scarce it became less and less valuable. When we got here, it had become nearly worthless to them as they were no longer interested in recruiting and instead were forming entire legions of troops out of data harvested from countless civilians. Towards the end, the enemy digimon we were fighting were just barely sapient, being created only to attempt to destroy us, and never having known life as a civilian. That said, despite being quite a sight see, it wasn't really worth much to us at the moment either nor would it be valuable to any civilization smart enough to realize it was composed of data and not actual gold, even though the chemical properties were the same.

Next floor down contained more jail cells, all of which were empty. Some showed damage in the form of deep cuts, scratches, and burn marks, likely from escape attempts. The cells were completely unfurnished, lacking the beds, sink, and toilet even a real prison would typically have.

"Cj?" Phoebe asked for me sweetly.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Get in." She said.

"Why?" I asked.

"I need to lock you up for stealing my heart." She joked.

"Ohoh really?" I replied.

"Nah, let's go see what's on the next floor." She said, already bored with this one.

The next floor contained bunkrooms with small beds presumably for commandramon, and the one below that was nearly identical. The one below that was divided into several large empty rooms, with wide hallways, with a ramp down to the next floor in addition to the staircase. There were ten floors like this, presumably for tankmon and tankdramon to stay in as neither digimon needs a bed as their lower body is rigid, heavy, and metal, they can't really use one. Another ten floors were "freezer" rooms, likely intended for Icedaemon's forces that preferred cold environments, some had bunks, some were divided into kennels. It felt just as cold on these floors as it did outside, if not colder. From that point on there wasn't much more to see, just a repeating pattern of bunk floors to accommodate large numbers of enemy digimon, except now they were all empty and lifeless. The whole place had heavy liminal space vibes, but after going through countless empty villages we were used to it by now.

By the time we reached Henry and Claire, we had passed through several floors that were completely empty and seemingly unnecessary, the most interesting thing we had seen for a good part of an hour was a string of bullet holes along one of the walls, presumably where a tankmon did something stupid.

"Find anything worthwhile?" Henry asked.

"The top floor showed us who the other chosen digimon were, and the one below that is full of treasure, the rest are basically empty." Phoebe said.

"You want to go see the treasure room Kitty Kat? It's full of gold and jewels and stuff." I asked.

"That I can take?" She asked.

"I don't see why not?" I said.

"Then let's go, come on sister take us up there." Kitty said, somewhat excited.

"Just a second, relax." Phoebe said.

"Told you she'd love it." I replied.

"I wanna see!" Kitty cutely begged.

"If you want to wait here for a bit I'll take them back up there and come back." Phoebe said.

"Sure, but I kind of want to see it to though." Henry said.

"Yeah, it would make up for these other floors, there's nothing on them!" Claire agreed.

"Don't leave me here alone." Ninjamon said.

"Ok fine, take my hand then." Phoebe replied.

She brought us all back up to the treasury floor.

"I guess I should go get Saphy and Zari too." Phoebe said.

"You getting tired yet?" I asked.

"Oh no, it's easier to teleport up and down this tower than several miles down the street." Phoebe said.

"Fair enough." I replied as Kitty took a look around and seemed to be overwhelmed.

"I'll be back in the a few minutes." Phoebe said before teleporting away.

"Kitty Kat, knock yourself out." I said as I assuringly put my hand on her shoulder.

"Yay." She replied as jumped onto the pile of gold and jewels, running it through her fingers like a child.

"Really?" Henry asked in disbelief.

"She likes shiny things." I replied.

"Can I keep some?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah, just remember you gotta carry it out of here, and then all the way back to the bus." I said as she cutely tried on a crown she found.

"I know." She replied.

"If this were any other situation, we'd be filthy rich right now." Henry said.

"It might be worth taking some with us, but it's digital so, I don't think any civilization smart enough to realize that would place any value on it." I said.

"It still looks like gold though." Henry said.

"True." I replied.

"I'm taking as much as I can carry." Henry said.

"Me too." Claire added.

"Knock yourself out." I replied.

"Ninjamon what do you think?" I asked.

" It sure is shiny." He replied.

"You don't want to take some?" I asked.

"Why?" He asked.

"Because it might be worth something." I explained.

"Why aren't you taking any?" He asked.

"I probably will, when we're about to leave." I said.

"You know laying in a pile of gold really isn't anywhere near as comfortable as all those cartoons made it out to be." Henry said as he did so.

"Yeah, it's all hard and solid." Claire replied as she laid beside him.

"Don't say that again." Henry replied.

"Well it is, I'm not sinking in it like I thought I would." Claire said as Kitty seemed to be digging around for something, probably some rings she could wear.

Phoebe came back with Zari and Saphy a few minutes later.

"Best floor I've seen so far." Zari said.

"Yeah, this place is so disappointing, there's nothing in here." Phoebe said.

"We found all this gold and some crude drawings of ourselves and what the other chosen looked like, and that's about it. Not much of a haul." I said.

"What were the other chosen?" Zari asked.

"Andromon, lillymon, some chick with green armor, some guy that looks like a generic superhero, and a female elf in a robe. You can go see for yourself, they're all pinned to a bulletin board on the top floor." I said.

"Kitty what are you looking for?" Saphy asked.

"Something I can wear. Maybe you can find some too." Kitty replied.

"Nah, that's fine." Saphy replied.

"Oh come on, you know it's your treasure too, you deserve some." Kitty said.

"Should we bring the others up here?" Phoebe asked.

"We'll tell them about it, see if they're interested, there's no way we're carrying all this out of here." I said.

"You want some too Pheebles?" I asked.

"No, its fine, I got enough jewelry." She replied.

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah." She replied.

"You sure there's nothing in there that will make you look any cuter for me?" I asked.

"Am I not cute enough for you already?" She asked.

"Well I'm just asking for fairness, because you know Kitty is probably going to pick some things so." I said.

"It's ok Cj." She said.

"If you say so, baby girl." I replied.

"One of these day we gotta get her a ring." I said to my beloved with a sigh .

"You should, you'll always love her more than I do." Phoebe said.

"Yet I'll always love you more than her." I said.

"I hope so." She said.

"Do I get one if I agree to be your virara?" Zari asked, overhearing us.

"If you agree sure, but are you going to?" Phoebe asked.

"Maybe I need one more night alone with him to decide." Zari mischievously suggested.

"Sorry sweety, it doesn't work that way." Phoebe said.

"Besides, tonight the two of us are going to share Angela together, so, yeah." Phoebe replied.

"You can share me." Zari said.

"Not until you decide, and still, not tonight, we already have plans." Phoebe replied.

"How come she doesn't have to decide yet?" Zari asked.

"Because she doesn't have feelings for Cj, and Cj doesn't have feelings for her, she might not even come with us to the next world once we find a way to get there." Phoebe said.

Eventually I started to search through the pile myself, while they continued to press each other on the matter.

I took note of the details on the coins. One side had a visage of an unknown female, presumably a digimon, though it can be hard to tell at times. The other side had a picture of what looked like the head of her weapon. No year, words, or any other markings were present. There were other gold objects mixed in with the piles of coins as well, a lot of necklaces, rings, plates, candlesticks, and seemingly random simple objects made out of gold. Some had various jewels set in them, some didn't.

"Look Zari, you just need to ask yourself one question, do you think there's a chance you could find someone else out there, once we leave this world, that would make you happier than you would be with Cj and I?" Phoebe asked.

"I mean there's always a chance, but." She struggled to answer.

"Yes or no Zari." Phoebe replied.

"Either I let him go or always live in your shadow." Zari said.

"Yeah, pretty much." Phoebe agreed.

"But it's not like we can't get closer either. I mean, Kitty and I kind of get along now. We don't fight nearly as much and as you can see she's still happy." Phoebe added a bit later.

"Cj can you help me look for some rings? There's so much stuff here." Kitty called out to me.

"Yeah, I kind of am." I replied.

"Can we just try it out first and see how well it works?" Zari asked.

"Yeah, I guess." Phoebe said.

"And if it doesn't work out, I can walk away, no strings attached?" Zari asked.

"It will be a while before we can officiate anything. If that helps you make a decision, then I'll allow it." Phoebe said.
"I'll think about it." Zari said.

"Really?" Phoebe asked.

"Now is not the time to make decisions like that." Zari insisted.

"mmmph, you're stubborn." Phoebe said.

"Not now Pheebs, please." Zari said.

"I am King Henry the first of the digital world!" Henry said as he tried on a crown he found, while holding some sort of scepter he found. Drawing everybody's attention.

"As long as you're not the eighth." I replied.

"Yeah." Claire said, laughing hysterically at his antics.

"Hey, be careful with that scepter it might shoot lasers or something." Zari said.

"Yeah, be careful, it could be a powerful weapon for all we know." Saphy said.

"Don't I have to say the name of the attack for that?" Henry asked.

"Not necessarily." I replied.

It varied with the weapon, musyamon's sword for instance, you have to say it to use the shogun sword attack, but you don't have to say anything to use it as a normal sword, or make use of it's anomalous ability to make you a better, stronger swordfighter, at the expense of tearing the hell out of your arms. The best way to describe is that it feels like there's a much stronger person holding onto it as well and jerking you around with it. Once your arms get stronger and you get more in tune to what it's going to do, it kind of stops being a curse as you start to operate more in sync with it. If you don't over use it to the point where it ruins your arms, it basically trains you. That said, it still has most of the same limitations as a normal sword, and using it against things with a lot of guns is ill-advised. It's a champion level weapon, so through digimon logic its only moderately effective against ultimates and struggles to damage most megas. Though the shogun sword attack is pretty effective against cherrymon and large groups of rookies.

"What digimon did it belong to anyway?" Henry asked.

"We could put it in the digivice and find out." I said.

"Yeah, let's try it." Henry replied.

A few seconds of shoving it into the digivice later, the digivice referred to it as a "king stick" in it's inventory menu. A search through the built in encyclopedia revealed that it probably once belonged to a king chessmon.

"Ok that's interesting." I said.

"What?" Henry asked.

"It belonged to a kingchessmon and it apparently lets the user make a fake copy of themselves. " I said.

"Sweet, let's test it." Henry replied.

"Allright, knock yourself out." I said as I ejected it from the digivice.

"what's the attack name?" He asked.

"Um…..King stick?" I replied.

"Really? Ok, um, King stick." He said as he held the thing up into the air, it flashed and a perfect, opaque copy of him appeared and "shifted" to the right of him, almost like a double team attack.

"Well that's trippy as fuck." I said.

"Yeah, what gives?" Ninjamon asked.

"Did it work?" He asked as his clone copied him word for word with just enough of a delay for everyone to notice.

"Um, look to your right." Claire said.

"Huh…woah what the hell, hey turn around." He exclaimed when he saw the back of his double that had turned as well.

"I don't think it can, it's just copying you." Saphy said.

"Is it solid?" I asked.

"I don't know, let me see." Henry replied as he reached out to touch himself.

"No, but, it looks so real, I can see myself breathe and everything." He said as his hand passed through.

"This is the weirdest thing I've seen in a while." Henry said.

"Definitely unique." I agreed.

"That's cool and everything but it has one glaring flaw, it has no thought waves, a psychic like me could tell it's a fake in an instant." Phoebe said.

"Most digimon aren't psychic." I said.

"True." Phoebe replied.

"And it's normally used by a digimon that you can't read anyway." Saphy pointed out.

"Ehhh, also true." Phoebe admitted.

"How long is this supposed to last?" Henry asked.

"Um, no idea." I replied.

"Try hitting it, it might make it go away faster." Phoebe suggested.

"Don't give me no lines and stick my hands through myself." Henry said.

Eventually the clone faded away as Henry kept waving his arms through it, like it was never even there to begin with.

"And now it's gone." Henry said.

"Yeah, It only makes sense it would wear off after a while. It says Kingchessmon use it as a diversion in order to escape their enemies." I said.

"Yeah, that makes sense." Henry replied.

"Otherwise there'd be fuck knows how many ethereal copies of kingchessmon scattered around." I said.

"Yeah, and one ethereal copy of me." Henry replied.

-meanwhile-

A small group of ogremon being led by Lt. Jeffries, one of Volkheim's lower ranking subordinates and also a bubbleman, finally found Volkheim near where Darkdramon had unleashed it's devastating Dark Roar attack, which ruined most of the buildings in the area.

"Lord Volkheim?! " He asked in shock as he approached his fallen superior.

"Jeffries ? Help me up, thank god somebody finally found me." Volkheim said with relief as he had been stuck there all night, his suit was damaged, leaving him without the strength to get up.

"You two, help him up, you, tell Rimmers we found him." Jeffries said as he motioned a pair of ogremon towards him.

"God dammit what happened? I knew splitting up yesterday was a bad idea." Jeffries said.

"Best I can understand, it made a black hole." Volkheim replied.

"What happened to all the digimon you had with you?" Jeffries asked.

"Gone, it sucked them all in." Volkheim replied.

"Fuck, well atleast you're still alive. A monitamon spotted the extradimensionals heading into that tower over there but they disappeared afterwards." Jeffries said.

"Forget about them for now, let's just find a way off this damned world." Volkheim said.

"They might be the only way." Jeffries said.

"Dammit." Volkheim replied as the two ogremon shoulder carried him along.

-back at the tower-

"You got all you want yet Kitty?" I asked as she now had herself decked out in I don't even know how many rings, necklaces, bracelets, and basically so much jewelry she had a very noticeable jingle as she walked.

"Are you going to wear all of that all the time now?" Phoebe asked.

"No, it's just easier to carry it this way." She replied.

"Good, because all that jingling is going to get annoying." Phoebe said.

"Probably slows you down a lot too." I pointed out.

"Yeah, I know, it's so sad." Kitty said.

"You look like a walking Christmas tree." Henry said.

Claire, Phoebe, Zari, and I laughed, the digimon didn't know what a Christmas tree was and Kitty thought Henry just called her a tree.

"I'm not a tree, trees are green." Kitty replied.

"Yeah, I don't see the resemblance, she still looks like a cutey to me." Ninjamon said.

"What's a Christmas tree?" Saphy asked.

"It's a tree people over decorate for holidays, typically Christmas." I said.

"Yeah, they can be really pretty sometimes." Zari said.

"You know about them?" I asked, surprised.

"It was part of training we had to take a test on the more common religions and traditions, you know the three Abrahamic religions, the cult of helix, sun worshipers, common patterns of religions, customs and practices with multiple gods and goddesses. You know they usually have one big main god, one for metalworking, maybe one for the ocean, one for love, you get the idea. We had a Christmas tree in the room and the whole class got to decorate it. It's one of the few good memories I have from that hell hole." Zari said.

"Allright Kitty Kat, why don't we get going, you should probably save some for the newbies." I said.

"I did, don't worry." She replied.

"Pheebles, ready to go?" I asked.

"Mhm." Said my beloved.

"Yeah I'm just gonna fill my pockets with coins real quick." Henry said.

"Fair enough. I think I'll take a few as well." I replied.

"Yeah." Zari agreed as we all quickly went and did so.

"Allright, now let's go." I said.

"Take my hand then." Phoebe said as we gathered around her.

She brought us out of that tower, and then we started the long walk back to the houses we were staying at.

"So are we testing this out then?" Zari asked as we were walking.

"If you want it that way then fine." Phoebe said.

"You want to start by coming back to our house with us?" Phoebe asked.

"Ok, what are we going to do when we get there?" Zari asked.

"Oh we'll think of something, I think with the three of us we can pretty much get Cj to do whatever we want." Phoebe said.

"Oh really?" I asked.

"Mhm, you'll be completely helpless." She replied.

"There goes all your gold coins." Ninjamon said.

"That's not even remotely what she's talking about." I said with a sigh, too quietly for him to hear.

"No, because I'll take his side." Kitty said as she hugged me.

"Awwwe, thanks Kitty Kat." I replied, somewhat enamored by her loyalty, I pulled her close and promptly hugged her back.

"Cj I was just joking around." Phoebe said, now apparently somewhat jealous of her.

"I know I know, I love you babe." I replied.

"Love you." She said.

"We'll probably just hang out for a while Zari." Phoebe said.

"Ok." Zari replied.

"So I'm just going to be by myself then since Chally is with the newbies today?" Saphy asked.

"No, you're still our friend, you can hang out with us too." Phoebe said.

"Maybe we could do some training?" Saphy asked.

"Maybe some." Phoebe replied.

"You know we still have the rest of the city to explore." Henry pointed out.

"Yeah, but if Ophanimon is here why would she be in just a random building? If she's not in that tower, she's not here." Phoebe said.

"So are we leaving tonight then?" Zari asked.

"No, we need to tell the others about the treasure first and maybe we'll see if there's other places we can look for her. But I don't even know where the goddesses are. " Phoebe said.

"Well, we're going to go check out some other places anyway." Henry said.

"Allright, just be careful." Phoebe replied before he and Claire headed off on their own.

"Come on Ninjamon." Claire said.

"Coming." Ninjamon replied.

"Phoebe I need to talk about tonight." Angela said as she approached us.

"No, you're not getting out of it, but good morning anyway." Phoebe said.

"Goodmorning." Violet said, pleasantly.

"Morning Violet." I replied.

"And don't be scared, ok? You're not going to get hurt. It will be fun." She added a moment later.

"Yeah, it's not scary at all." Kitty added.

"Anyway have you seen the goddesses around or the rest of our army?" Phoebe asked.

"No, sorry." Angela replied.

"Ok, I guess they must have gotten up really early and started to search, we'll go talk to the newbies then and see if they know anything." Phoebe said.

"They awake by now?" I asked.

"Yeah, and Chally is with them." Phoebe said.

"Ok." I replied.

"I know you like her." Phoebe teased.

"As a friend, with benefits, aren't things complicated enough for now?" I asked.

"Yeah, for now." Phoebe replied.

"Maybe I should just stay a friend with benefits too." Zari said.

"We'll figure out what works best eventually." Phoebe said.

"Allright then Pheebles, just lead us to the newbies." I said.

"That's easy, they're still in their house." Phoebe replied.

"Can we stop at our house first so I can store some of this jewelry? It's starting to get uncomfortable." Kitty asked.

"Yeah where'd you get all of that by the way?" Angela asked.

"It was in the tower." Kitty replied.

"Yeah, second floor from the top there's lots of gold and stuff, you can take some for yourself if you want." I said.

"Nah, that's fine, I don't need such things." Angela replied.

"Let's go see, what else are we going to do today?" Violet asked.

"Ok fine if you want, I guess we'll go." Angela replied.

"If you want to wait a bit the newbies will probably join you, I'd like it if you both went with them to give them some extra protection just in case." Phoebe said.

"That sounds like a decent idea." Angela replied.

"Ok." Violet agreed.

"Did you find any clues about where Ophanimon is?" Angela asked.

"I don't think the dark lords killed her." Phoebe said.

"What makes you think that?" I asked.

"You know how they had all those drawings of the chosen digimon on their board and red x's through the ones they killed off?" Phoebe asked."

"Yeah." I replied.

"You notice how there wasn't any mention of Ophanimon?" Phoebe asked.

"Maybe she's the chick with the green armor?" I asked.

"Can't be, her armor is more of a blue." Saphy said.

"Well, now I want to look." Angela said.

"Top floor, above the one with all the treasure, but wait for the newbies." Phoebe said.

"Right, ok thanks, I'll go ahead and go over there." Angela replied.

We went to our house, Kitty took off most of her jewelry to the point where she no longer jingled every time she took a step, and then we headed over to the newbies, who were about ready to leave their house anyway.

Chally answered the door.

"Hi Chally, did you sleep well last night?" Phoebe asked.

"Yeah, well enough. Anyway, Lussy said she'd teach me how to use the mechanorimon today while we help search the city.

"Cool." Phoebe replied.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked.

"We found a huge stash of treasure on the second highest floor of the tower, we was wanted to tell you all in case you wanted to go through and pick up a few things." Phoebe said.

"You searched the whole tower already?" Chally asked.

"Yeah, most of it was disappointingly empty, anyway Angela and Violet can take you all over there in case you want to see." Phoebe replied.

"We told them we'll probably take the mechanorimon, it's better than walking, so Angela said they'd see us there." Lussy said.

"The goddesses didn't take there's?" I asked.

"No and they said we could use them." Lussy said.

"Allright then." I replied.

"Have you seen the goddesses?" Phoebe asked.

"I saw them head out into the city earlier this morning while the others were asleep. " Chally said.

"Lussy said she talked to them." Phoebe said.

"She's lying, she just got up an hour ago." Chally said.

"Yeah I just saw that." Phoebe said.

"Thanks for ratting me out." Lussy said with heavy sarcasm.

"Don't get too upset with her, I was about to find you out anyway, you can't lie to me silly." Phoebe said.

"Oh, right." Lussy replied.

"Can we please take them anyway? Lussy said she'd teach me." Chally said.

"Yeah, I mean we might as well since they aren't even here." Selenia said.

"Go ahead I guess, I don't see what harm it could do." Phoebe said.

"We'll just have to see if they'll let us take them then." Kiera said.

"What do you mean?" Selenia replied.

"You know they aren't just dumb machines they kind of develop a preference for their pilots." Kiera said.

"Yeah, but they didn't mind it when Zari took Lussys." Selenia pointed out.

"Actually they kind of did, it kept asking about her, a lot." Zari interjected.

"It did?" Lussy asked.

"Yeah." Zari said.

"That's weird, it never says much to me." Lussy said.

"They never seem to be very talkative." Kiera said.

"They aren't." Selenia agreed.

"What are you guys going to do?" Lussy asked.

"We might go find somewhere else to explore, I don't know where else Ophanimon would be though, if she's not in the tower." Phoebe said.

"We could go find and bother the Bubblemen." I suggested.

"NO!" Phoebe replied.

"Have you seen them yet? There supposed to where these big suits right? I haven't seen them at all." Illustria asked.

"Yeah, we saw Volkheim yesterday but that thing attacked and I don't even know if he's still alive or not." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, but there's others with him that might still be out there." I said.

"Yeah, if they're still alive." Phoebe said.

"Maybe we should stay here in case they come through then and take our stuff or something?" Zari asked.

"I don't know." Phoebe said.

"If we stay here can we go back to the house and screw around?" She asked me telepathically.

"Shouldn't we be helping the others?" I thought.

"We will be, by staying here and watching out for the Bubblemen, while we screw around." She replied.

"What about Iceleomon?" I asked.

"He's not here, they're out of range I don't know where they went either." Phoebe replied.

"Can we just sneak away together for a bit and mess around?" I asked.

"I don't know how we can without it being obvious." Phoebe said.

"Well then, babe I love you, but it's a no." I said.

"Ok." She replied.

"Really ok?" I asked.

"Yeah, besides Saphy is here, I don't want her to get too romantically attached to either of us. I love her as my digimon, but you know how it is." She replied.

"Yeah, you still think she needs more experience." I said.

"Yeah, so she can make a proper choice." Phoebe replied.

`"I'm just glad the sweet girl I fell in love with is still in there underneath all that horniness." I said.

"Oh Cj." She replied out loud.

"What'd he do?" Kitty asked.

"Oh, nothing." Phoebe replied, realizing her mistake.

"Are you guys ok? You just went quiet for a moment." Illustria pointed out.

"They're fine they do that sometimes. You two done talking to each other or are we going to have to wait out here a bit longer while you just stand there awkwardly?" Zari asked.

"No, we're good, right Cj?" Phoebe replied.

"Yeah, come here babe." I agreed as I hugged her in her big puffy coat.

"So what are we doing?" She asked as I showed her a bit of affection.

"Is Iceleomon here?" Zari asked.

"No, he left sometime while we were at the tower." Phoebe said.

"So it's just us and the newbies here?" Zari asked.

"Mhm." Phoebe agreed.

"So if we both leave our houses will be completely unattended?" Zari asked.

"Yep." Phoebe replied.

"And there's a chance the Bubblemen could come through looking for us and might take our stuff if we're not here to defend it?" Zari asked.

"Yep." Phoebe said.

"So we should stay here." Zari said.

"I guess so." Phoebe said.

-several minutes later-

With not much else to do but keep watch, Phoebe started filming a video to document our victory. It was just us, our digimon, and Zari in our house, with lillymon still unconscious in the corner.

"Ok here we are again, we're in the frozen city, on top of that mountain I showed you in the last video, we made it here, we beat deusmon, I'm sorry I couldn't film it, but we were all taking part in the fight. Whatever is left of his data is contained in this box of dataguns. Think of them like those infrared guns they use at a supermarket but they take and give out data to digimon, they use data as their main form of currency and apparently gold as a secondary form as we discovered today. Anyway, we took shelter in this house for a few days, while the rest of our group took other houses nearby, in the corner we have lillymon, who is still unconscious but might not be evil anymore as the evil part of her leaked out, took on a form of it's own and ran to join the other dark rulers late last night. It's a long story, so yeah, we all woke up a bit late today, and now we're holding the fort down while the others search the city for Ophanimon. I'll show you the outside now. I'll be back in a bit everyone." She said before she headed outside to get a shot of the tower we had explored that morning.

"Should we follow her?" I asked.

"Nah, let's keep snuggling." Kitty said.

"Kitty Kat, I love you babe, but we need to do more than just snuggle the rest of the day away." I said.

"Yeah this got boring five minutes in." Saphy said.

"We could go patrol around the street. I doubt we'll find anything but we'll atleast look like we're trying to keep watch." Zari said.

"Yeah, allright, let's go out and tell Pheebles." I said.

"Awwwe." Kitty replied.

"Come on Kitty Kat." I said.

"Fine." She grumbled.

-outside the house-

"It looks like a huge tower from here, but we checked it out this morning and there's barely anything inside it." Phoebe said to the camera, still recording.

"Hey Pheebles, we're going to go walk around and patrol just for something to do." I said.

"Can I come with you?" She asked.

"Yeah, of course." I said.

"Ok I guess that's all for now." She said to the camera as she stopped recording.

"Where are we going?" Phoebe asked after she caught up.

"Just around, see if we can find any Bubblemen." I said.

"I don't hear any Bubblemen." She said.

"Can you even hear them cause of their suits?" I asked.

"I don't remember." She replied.

"We haven't fought them for almost a century." Zari said.

"We fought them a little bit last night, but yeah." I said.

"Could you hear them then?" Saphy asked.

"I didn't really try, Volkheim was already speaking to us through this digimon called a Monitamon." Phoebe said.

"Oh, he has those things working for him?" Saphy said.

"Or he did atleast, I don't think it survived Darkdramon's attack. I don't know if he survived either, we never bothered to check." Phoebe said.

"I really doubt he had just the one." I said.

"Yeah, that's a fair point." Phoebe agreed.

"And hell knows where the other Bubblemen are." I said.

"Yeah, we didn't see them at all either." Phoebe said.

"How many are there?" Saphy asked.

"There's a lot, but the main group we've been fighting is about 5 or 6 of them, they have a much bigger army, but they're spread pretty thin over a few worlds, and they're cut off at the moment." I said.

"How many of them in total?" Saphy asked.

"You might want to ask Henry, they're from his world. He should know more than we do." I said.

"If they keep traveling to other worlds like you guys the space police should find out about them eventually." Zari said.

"We haven't been that lucky yet." I said.

"If you can call that luck because if they're after him they'll probably be after us too." Phoebe said.

"True." I replied.

"I'll just say you're all my deputies that should get you out of most of the trouble." Zari said.

"Most of it?" I asked.

"You'd still have to face a tribunal and hope that information doesn't get around before it's over. But communication between worlds is so incredibly slow it shouldn't be a problem." Zari said.

"That's still a lot of wasted time." I said.

"And what if we wind up on one of those worlds again where they try to get you to find a job right away?" Phoebe said.

"I can get you out of those don't worry, they're trying to set those up as factory worlds, but that project is still in its infancy. They started setting up the employment system but don't even have the factories and cities completely built yet, and finding and building portals stable and large enough to send large quantities of goods through is quite a challenge. But the idea is you know they're trying to unite multiple worlds and get them all to work together in a massive economy of scale." Zari said.

"By enslaving whoever shows up there?" I asked.

"No, most people choose to go there to get a job, they find their place, they get paid well and can live a comfortable life with security only the space police can provide, but, eh, the portals you know, they can be unpredictable sometimes, and the machines are stupid and don't realize that, so yeah, some people do end up there by mistake, but don't blame me I didn't build the thing and have nothing to do with that program anyway. That's a whole other branch." Zari said.

"Where are we going to go after this if Ophanimon isn't here?" Phoebe asked.

"I have no idea, we'll go back to Bacchusmon's celebrate and then, I guess we could start thinking about where the hell else she could be. Atleast it's not like when I was trying to find you across a whole universe. If she's still alive she's almost certainly on this planet somewhere." I said.

"Yeah, true." Phoebe replied.

"Why don't we talk to Angela about that tonight, she might have some ideas?" I suggested.

"Yeah, after we've had our fun." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, if things go according to your plan." I said.

"Why wouldn't they? What's your plan?" She asked.

"Well, she could get too nervous and run away, it's a big city, she has lots of place to hide, and you can't hear her." Zari chimed in.

"That's true, but why would she do that? She won't go back on her word" Phoebe said.

"You hope not." I said.

"If she gets this apprehensive about sex I doubt she's much of a liar." Phoebe said.

"You know what I'm looking forward to tonight?" I asked her.

"What?" She asked.

"Snuggling next to you again, and maybe Kitty." I said.

"Maybe." She said.

"And me?" Zari asked.

"No, it's way too early. You just stay with Saphy and Challey for now like usual. Cj was with Kitty a long time before we got back together, I know he was with you a little bit but still not nearly as much so . . . we should take it slow." Phoebe said.

"But you can come over in the morning and we can all hang out or something, just don't come too early." Phoebe added a bit later.

"Ok." Zari replied.

"I let you have that one night alone with him, that's all you're going to get for a while." Phoebe said.

"How long am I going to have to wait?" Saphy asked.

"Don't even." Phoebe replied.

"Let's talk about something else." I said.

"Like what?" Phoebe asked.

"Are we ever going to tell Charley about any of this when he's older?" I asked.

"I don't want to think about that right now, but we might have to, if he eventually gets the power to read minds there isn't going to be much to keep him from reading you and finding out on his own." Phoebe said.

"You ever think about that?" I asked.

"I think about our baby boy every day, I just don't talk about it because there's nothing we can do, besides keep fighting to get home." She said.

"New topic." She said with a sigh.

"Will the Bubblemen pop if I stab them?" Kitty asked.

"I don't know, their suits are very tough." Phoebe replied.

"Tougher than my claws?" She asked.

"Probably not, but I don't know. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about you killing them." Phoebe said.

"We already killed so many digimon.' Kitty said.

"Yeah but the bubblemen aren't threatening the whole world, they just want to capture me because they think I can fix theirs regardless of what we tell them." Phoebe said.

"Then I just won't take their data." Kitty said.

"NO KITTY! They don't have data they're human, um, sort of. If you kill them they're done." Phoebe said.

"Oh." Kitty replied.

"Yeah, but they won't listen to reason, so , they're just going to keep following us unless we kill them." I said.

"No, Cj, No, that is bad, bad, bad, bad." Phoebe said.

"Fine, but if they hurt you or Kitty, you know what I'm going to do." I said.

"Just, stop, they're not, they haven't yet, they're not that strong." Phoebe said.

"They have a whole army of digimon and they might have guns." I said.

"Still, it's not that bad, we've taken down a lot of digimon with guns." Phoebe said.

"Still if they hurt you or Kitty or any of our friends." I said.

"New topic." Phoebe interrupted, somewhat distressed.

"Is your hair always green?" Kitty asked..

"Isn't yours always red?" Phoebe asked.

"Not in my other form." Kitty replied.

"You know people's hair color doesn't normally change right?" Phoebe asked.

"I thought it just stayed the same because I'm a digimon." Kitty said.

"No, sweetie that's not how it works." Phoebe said.

"I've seen people's hair change to gray before." Kitty said.

"Yeah, when some people get old their hair turns grey, but." Phoebe said.

"Will yours?" Kitty asked.

"I don't think we age anymore, and no, normally it doesn't for gardevoirs anyway." Phoebe said.

"And this other time this lady's hair color changed to black." Kitty said.

"She probably dyed it." Phoebe said.

"You can do that?" Kitty asked.

"Yeah, you can just buy this stuff at the store and change your hair to whatever color you want." Phoebe said.

"Cj never explained any of this to you?" Phoebe asked.

"In all fairness it's not one of those things that comes up regularly." I said.

"What color you want your hair to be?" Phoebe asked.

"Not much point in changing it, it will go away as soon as I change form." Kitty replied.

"Yeah, that's true." Phoebe agreed.

"But you can make yours red like mine." Kitty said.

"No no no no no, never, black, maybe, but not red." Phoebe said.

"Well why not?" Kitty asked.

"I don't like wearing red, it just doesn't look good on me, I'm sorry." Phoebe said.

"I don't like it either." Saphy replied.

"It really doesn't look good on you." Phoebe agreed.

"I know." Saphy replied.

"You're more of a green or blue girl like I am." Phoebe said.

"Or like dark purple." Saphy said.

"Maybe." Phoebe agreed.

"Zari what's your color?" Phoebe asked.

"You're lucky, I only ever look good in black." Zari said.

"Yeah but you look damned good in black, and dark blue really isn't that bad on you anyway." I said.

"You really think so?" She asked.

"I wouldn't lie to you babe." I said.

"What about me?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know what about you? I've seen you at your worst, I love you anyway." I said.

"And me?" Kitty asked.

"I've definitely seen you at your worst." I said.

"Really? What's that like." Phoebe asked.

"Pheebles, my sweet sweet baby girl, don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to." I said.

"Ok, I'll leave it at that." She replied.

"What else is there to talk about?" I asked.

"I don't know, are you sure you don't just want to go home and fool around?" Phoebe asked.

"It's not that I don't want to Pheebles, it's that I would hate myself for doing so." I replied.

"Ill let you play with my feet." She said, attempting to tempt me.

"Me too." Kitty added.

"Yeah, her too, in her other form." Phoebe decided to let her play along.

"No, we should stay on patrol." Zari said.

"Yeah, and you know trying to tempt me like that never works." I said.

"I know, but this is so boring and they're probably not going to show up." Phoebe whined, showing a little bit of her princess side.

"Yeah, but atleast we're being part of the group." I said.

"The others aren't even here, they'd never even know." She said.

"But we would." I replied.

"Exactly." Zari agreed.

"Cj you said anytime." Phoebe said.

"Anytime we're alone, we're not alone." I replied.

"Well take my hand and we can be." She said to me telepathically so the others wouldn't hear.

"That's really tempting, but you know we shouldn't." I thought up my response.

"Maybe we can just go exploring then?" Phoebe asked out loud with a sigh.

"If you're that bored, and if Saphy and Zari think they can hold this place down on their own." I said.

"I think we can handle it, it'd be nice if we could all walk together though." Zari said.

"We could all go exploring together." Phoebe said.

"Yeah, I'm supposed to be your digimon not Zari's." Saphy said.

"Yeah if the Bubblemen do come by and mess with our stuff the others are going to be very cross with us." Zari said.
