Josuke's limp body was now in the hands of a tall man wearing a black trench coat and matching hospital mask.
I summoned Iron Maiden behind me. "Get your hands off my friend!"
"Hmm, so you're a stand user as well," the man said. "I don't think you're on my list of stand users that we need to kill."
Wait, why did he say "we?"
"I'll put you on the list, but for now, I only need Josuke Higashikata." He said as he started to walk away.
"Hey!" I yelled. I started to get up only for my leg to buckle down from my sprained ankle. "Get back here you bastard!" I used Iron Maiden to pull myself off the ground and stomped towards the masked man. Each step felt like I was stepping on nails.
But it doesn't matter.
I need to save Josuke.
Once I got close enough, I used Iron Maiden to punch the man back a few steps. My stand's range is relatively short and slow, so that was all I could do at my distance. Blood started to pour from the man's forehead. "So you want to fight me huh? Is he that important to you? Fine then."
The masked man opened both sides of his coat, revealing 30 small but long sharpened knives. "My stand Dirty Diana allows me to control and move anything I touch. Do you really want to fight a stand like this?" Five of the knives levitated from his coat and were shot at me like a pistol. I summoned my stand, however, I was too slow. One of the knives stabbed my left thigh. I grit my teeth. "Your stand's that slow? No wonder you're not on my list. What a weak soul you have."
What does he mean by that?!
"You really are sweet. But I wonder, what if…?" He then grabbed one of the knives from his coat and held it up to Josuke's neck as more knives levitated from his coat and were thrown at me.
"NO, DON'T!"
I attempted to make a shield around Josuke's neck, but he was too far away. At the same time, the knives that were thrown hit my stomach, chest, and right leg. I screamed out in pain as my injured leg forced me to fall down to the ground.
The man cackled. "You fell for it! You actually fell for my bluff! It seems that you're only able to make one shield at a time. How weak." He sneered. "It's really cute that you care about him that much, but I need him as intact as possible."
The knives were pulled out of me and were drawn back to him. Blood dripped from my lips as I struggled to breathe."…fuck…you."
"Are you challenging me again? Did you not learn your lesson?"
I need to get Josuke back. Once I do, I can wrap a shield around us. But how?
A dangerous scheme came to my mind. Every time his stand throws a knife, it has to go back to him. So what if…?
I struggled to stand up and then charged towards him, knowing the risks.
If this doesn't work, then both Josuke and I will die.
"So you've chosen death then? Then so be it!"
He opened his jacket once more. All of the knives levitated from his jacket and aimed directly at me. Just like a bullet coming from a gun, they were shot at me. I used my arm to cover my face. I could feel each knife stabbing my arm, chest, and left leg once again. I fell into the snow as my body went limp.
I just need to get close enough.
Dear god. Please let this work.
Then, I could feel my body starting to levitate and move towards the hill along with the knife that was lodged in my chest until I stopped.
"You may not be on my list, but you're annoying enough to get rid of." The man said.
That's it.
"You fell for it," I coughed. "You seriously thought I was dead? My stand's in range now. Iron Maiden." I wrapped an airtight shield around Josuke. At the same time, I kicked the man away from us and ripped his mask off exposing his face. He had a small beauty mark left on the left of his cheek.
"You bitch!" He said, as he grabbed my hat right before Josuke and I fell to the ground, exposing my red hair.
As I lifted my head up, the man looked at me in fear. His bottom lip started to tremble. "Your hair! It's! Are you?… No, it can't be! I screwed up! I fucked up so badly! I'm so sorry! This wasn't supposed to happen!"
What the hell is he talking about now?
"What am I going to do now? What will she do to me? I'm sorry! I'm so, so sorry!"
"What are you…talking about…you bastard?" I tried to speak, but I know that my lungs are probably slowly filling up with blood. "Why did you even attack us…in the first place."
The man in black looked at me with tears in his eyes, having a panic attack. "You don't understand! No, NO ONE could understand the situation I put myself in!"
The man then ran off, his silhouette fading in the blizzard.
Good.
I saved Josuke.
Now, I just need to get out of here.
I attempted to roll over onto my back to sit up, only for me to succumb to my injuries. I looked at Josuke, whose face was still implanted into the frozen snow.
"Hey…Josuke." I patted Josuke's back, hoping for a response. "Can…you heal me? I don't know if I'll make it if you don't." Nothing. "Josuke…please. I don't know what to do. I'm scared. I'm so scared." He stayed silent as the two of us laid on the ground.
Damnit.
I tried to lift myself up. My white sweater was dyed red with my blood. With the excruciating amount of pain I was in, I turned my head, looking at my surroundings. Even if I pulled us to the top of the hill, there was barely any traffic as we rode up the hill on Josuke's motorcycle. The best thing I can do is pull us down and hope the road down there has more cars driving past.
I held the back of Josuke's sweater as I used my stand to pull the two of us down the hill. Every breath I took felt like I was inhaling thousands of needles. "Don't worry…Josuke. I'll…I'll get us some help."
Several minutes passed and we finally got to the bottom of the hill and I saw our saving grace.
A single green small phone box next to a slim road that was partially covered in snow.
Thank god.
Once we got there, I used my stand to grab the phone off the hook as my back laid against the phone box
I need to call an ambulance…no… I need to call Jotaro. He needs to know that we were attacked.
I moved my shaking blue fingers and pressed each of the 10 numbers for his cell number and waited anxiously for him to pick up.
"Hello?"
"Jotaro ... .it's Kuro…help." I whispered.
"What's wrong?!" His voice sounded slightly panicked.
"Josuke and I…were attacked…hurry." I coughed.
"Where are you?"
"At the bottom of a hill. At a phone box."
"I need more information!"
"I… I don't know. It hurts. It hurts so much."
My eyelashes started to flutter as I struggled to stay awake.
Am I going to die here? No, I can't. I want to stay with my mom. With Okuyasu, with Koichi.
With Josuke.
I could feel my body going limp, sinking into the deep snow.
"Kuroko! I'm coming! Whatever you do, don't…" His voice started to steer further away as I fell asleep.
Please save us…Jotaro.
