So yeah, I watched My Hero Academia. Since I got invested, it would be natural for me to write a fic of it. And since I'm still stuck with my obsession on the Horizon series, I thought why not this would be a good place to start.
If anyone wants a timestamp for the students coming into a new world, they come from before season 5 (I haven't watched it yet.)
And also Happy New Years to all!
Chapter 1: Strange People, Stranger Quirks
Quite a bit of destruction was seen in front of Aloy. The part of the forest in front of her had the typical look of trees having been bent and snapped which usually was an inevitability every time machines were involved. It was a familiar sight, though given the circumstances of why the huntress of the Nora was there, it put a thought of doubt in her mind.
She didn't have much information to go off of while she was out there. The only thing Kotallo had told her was that Tenakth scouts had spotted a small group of people wandering around the forest south of the Memorial Grove. Due to the soldiers not having recognized any of the outfits that could relate them to the known tribes of the area, Aloy had two assumptions to go over; either they were a newly formed group of bandits that had found themselves in the Forbidden West, or a bunch of travelers that happen to be passing by.
Either way, something felt odd with this new group, and since it was way past sundown, Aloy had taken upon herself to investigate it.
"Well, whoever they are, they held up quite the battle here." Aloy slowly approached one of the downed machines, a Scrounger, to be precise.
Observing the damage done to the Scrounger, Aloy began to notice a few oddities seen from the metal carcass. First off, there weren't any arrows embedded into the metal. And there weren't any cuts that would be linked to a spear or shield. Most of the damage done to the machine appeared to be blunt force trauma, which was seen through a couple major dents on the machine's carcass.
"Melee fighters. Probably using heavy weapons, so they're probably not travelers." Reaching to the side of her temple, Aloy activates her Focus which projects a holographic interface in front of her eyes.
The first piece of information that was provided by the Focus' holographic interface didn't seem like much; just some char and soot left on the armor of the machine, probably left by explosive attacks from machines or bombs from this unknown group.
That's when things get confusing. As Aloy's Focus works to find small little details, she notices that it doesn't seem to find any shrapnel that would've been spread throughout the area. No matter the kinds of bombs, they would leave easily detectable shrapnel that even her can find without the use of the Focus.
"No shrapnel, huh? That's strange." Aloy stood up, crossing her arms trying to figure out what happened there. "It was like this explosion… happened in thin air."
That's when something else caught her eye. Turning her head a bit further into the site of the battle, she notices another machine that has been downed next to a large tree. Approaching the machine, which was a Sawtooth, Aloy notices that it has been impaled and pinned onto the tree. But something was wrong.
"Ice?" Aloy raised an eyebrow at what had happened.
A large icicle seemed to have protruded from the ground and had been impaled into the machine, rendering it inoperable. Though from the scan, it doesn't seem to have sprouted from the earth itself, but rather grown from a certain point like a flash freeze. A quick glance at the icicle shows that it hasn't melted too much yet; this was recent, probably less than thirty minutes have passed.
"What could've caused this? I don't think any weapon nor machine would've done this." Aloy wasn't quite sure what it was, but there was something strange about this situation that she can't quite put her finger on.
Quickly reminding herself that there could be innocent lives at stake, Aloy shook away her thoughts before using her Focus in order to scan the battlefield for footprints. Sure enough, Aloy smirked to see highlighted imprints on the forest floor, still warm and making their way deeper into the forest. However, there was also a multitude of machine prints heading in the same direction.
"Great. Looks like the machines are persistent on these guys. I better see what's going on." Aloy quickly pulls out her bow and follows the prints into the forest.
Without hesitation, Aloy follows the trail for quite a bit of distance, still keeping track if there could be any dead bodies she could find along the way. She was used to these kinds of missions, tracking down lost people in the machine-ridden wilderness among many other things. She was also used to preparing herself mentally if who she was trying to find wound up dead to a machine. It was one of the inevitabilities of living in this world long after the Faro Plague.
However, she was more and more surprised to see no bodies while she was running, which was truly baffling considering the distance she was traveling. The amount of footprints indicate that there could be at least twenty people in the group, and a hunting party that large would unfortunately not have the luck to make it out of the forest without suffering any casualties.
Taking this with a sigh of relief, Aloy continues to follow the footprints as planned. Eventually, sounds of struggle can be heard in the distance, and heat signatures can be detected by her Focus.
"Somebody distract this thing!"
"I'm trying, damnit! Die!"
"We can take them!"
A great sense of relief washed over Aloy, as she smiled at knowing that they were handling themselves well against the machines. But now it was her turn to step in. As she makes her way behind a tree, she takes out her spear, and prepares herself to turn around for the fight.
"Gwaaah!"
"Kaminari!"
A figure flies past Aloy's vision and crashes hard into a nearby tree. Aloy quickly turned to him with concern as he rubbed his back in pain.
"Ghh… What was that?" The young teen groaned, and Aloy could see what this young man looked like. Aside from his messy orange hair, the huntress noticed some oddities with his outfit. White shirt, black jacket and pants, and blue shades, all of which definitely weren't made by the many tribes of this new world.
But a loud, distorted roar shook these thoughts out of her head. Turning to see where it came from, Aloy lays her eyes on a machine, which was a Scrounger that was making its way towards its target.
"How many of these things are there?!" The orange haired teen groaned before standing up to face the incoming machine. "Alright, Indiscriminate Shock!"
But before the guy can do anything, Aloy jumps out of nowhere and impales the incoming machine with her spear, driving the head all the way through the machine's neck, killing it.
"There, are you okay?" Aloy turned to the guy with concern.
"Oh… uh, thanks." The orange-haired guy waved at the new arrival.
"Don't mention it." Aloy then turns back to find four more machines coming her way. Watchers, small reconnaissance machines that come in groups.
Quickly taking out her bow, the huntress quickly takes three swift and precise shots at the machines' optics, taking out three of them with incredible efficiency. The fourth Watcher manages to close the distance in time, but Aloy manages to knock it back with her spear.
"Whoa! That's awesome! You're very good with a bow!" The orange haired guy exclaimed.
Aloy draws her bow once again and fires the arrow at the machine. Once again, the sharp projectile hits the Watcher in the optics, killing it instantly. But at the same time, a loud shockwave blast hits the already dead machine, shaking its carcass a bit like it was meant to be a distraction.
"Whoa!" Aloy turned to the source of the blast.
The source of the blast in question comes from a young girl who, to the confusion of the huntress, had speakers on her boots. Earphone jacks were seen detaching from the speakers and were seen to be… attached to the girl's earlobes.
"Wow. Quick on the draw." The girl chuckles a bit after seeing someone beat her to the punch, or rather the defeat of the machine.
"Hey, Jiro! Someone finally arrived to help us!" The orange haired guy waved to the girl.
"Great, Kaminari. We can find out what's going on after we take out these robots." Jiro slammed her fist into her palm in ecstacy. And her outfit didn't fit into any tribe as well.
Of course, there were the earphone jacks attached to her earlobes that she wanted to ask about, but now wasn't the time for that.
"What's the situation?" Aloy turned to the two.
"I don't know. We suddenly found ourselves here and were immediately ambushed by these robots or something." Jiro explained to the huntress, who, while she was still intently listening, took a mental note of the girl's speech patterns. She talks exactly like someone that would be from before the Plague. But that shouldn't be possible.
Quickly removing those thoughts, Aloy nodded to the girl and turned to the rest of the battlefield. There, she sees three more people facing the machines, none of which were of age to hunt machines at all.
Aloy quickly made her way to the group and took out her bow, ready for a fight.
"Hey! You guys found someone!" A young boy bearing bright red hair approached the group. "Can you help us fight these things?"
"You don't even have to ask. Kids your age shouldn't even be out machine hunting." Aloy says as she notches an arrow into her bow.
"Machine… hunting?" Both Kaminari and Jiro looked at each other in confusion at the concept.
Despite this confusion, the group watches in awe as Aloy manages to take out more of the Watchers. She was hitting their weak points with pinpoint accuracy, and using a bow for that matter is no easy feat.
Suddenly, some bush movement was heard from behind, and on instinct, Aloy turned to see another Scrounger on its way to claw at the young teens. Quickly drawing her bow, the huntress prepares a shot at the machine… before someone manages to block the incoming attack.
"Huh?!" Aloy gets another dose of surprise for the night.
"Think this can hurt me?!"
The boy with the bright red hair had blacked the machine's incoming attack… with his bare hands. After a quick glance, Aloy could see that the boy's skin had taken on the texture of a rock, and it had definitely taken on the durability of one too.
"Yeah! Great block, Kirishima!" Kaminari grinned with ecstacy. "Now, Midoriya!"
"Rock-hard skin? Wait, what's going on here?!" Aloy exclaimed in confusion.
"Full Cowl!"
Another young teen appears out of nowhere and forcefully kicks the Scrounger in the head before Aloy's question could be answered.
"Smash!" The green haired teen yelled out in a flash of green lightning as the force of the kick sent the machine into a nearby tree, rendering it inoperable.
By now, the strange questions from before had returned to the forefront of Aloy's mind. Looking at the green haired kid's strength, Kirishima's hardened skin and Jiro's earphone jacks, she knew that these people aren't from the mere tribes of this world. Were these Zeniths? No, they're too young.
"Hello? What's your name?"
This question was enough to shake Aloy from her thoughts. She looks at the green haired boy whose name was Midoriya, as well as the rest of the group looking at the huntress like she may just as well be their saving grace.
"Aloy. Just Aloy, I don't really have much in the way of a last name." Aloy introduced herself and looked around. "Hold on, I thought there were twenty of you judging from the footprints."
"That's the thing. We got fucking separated after being overwhelmed by these damn robots." The fifth young teen entered the scene, bearing spiky sand-colored hair and a ridiculous outfit that was somehow still overshadowed by large grenade-shaped gauntlets on his arms.
"Wow, Bakugo. Didn't know you were overwhelmed by these robots. Didn't you say you could beat them with your eyes closed." Jiro slightly snickered as she responded to this.
"That doesn't excuse the fact that the others were weak! Idiot!" Bakugo snapped back violently, causing Aloy to step back in confusion.
"So… you guys got separated from the rest of your group." Aloy tried to subdue the escalating situation in front of her. "Did you guys see where they went?"
But that question was immediately answered by a thundering noise from the forest. The group turned to the direction of the sound's origin, and most of them felt uneasy because of it. It felt like a loud, boisterous trumpet that shook the air, accompanied by distant heavy footsteps.
"Tremortusk." Aloy put the pieces together and figured out what kind of machine that was.
"T-Tremortusk?! That sounds like a dangerous robot." Kaminari exclaimed with worry.
"And the others went that way! Who knows what they're up against?!" Jiro pointed at the direction of the sound.
"Kacchan, we have to hurry!" Midoriya quickly dashed into the forest in a green lightning blitz.
"Don't order me around, Deku!" Bakugo growled before propelling himself with explosions from his hands into the air.
The blasts from the departure of both teens shook the wind around Aloy as she still stands confused on what was with these guys. They don't seem to be related to any known tribe, and they seem to have powers as well.
"Aloy, is it? Can you help us fight this… Tremortusk?" Jiro asked the huntress, stuttering slightly at the confusing name of the machine.
"Yeah, you sure know a lot of the robots, and the way you handle that bow is so manly." Kirishima grinned upon recalling the impressive archery the huntress has. "Is that a part of your Quirk or something?"
"Quirk?" This was the first time Aloy had heard the word used in such a way. Sure, her archery has always been a topic of discussion between the many tribes, but it wasn't some sort of personal quirk or gimmick. Anyone with two arms and a fiery dedication in their heart will be able to learn the focus and skill she has.
"You know, Quirk. Your own personal ability, like these earphone jacks I have." Jiro reiterated the question.
"And if I were to guess, all the people in your group have an ability of sorts? I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I know what you're talking about." Aloy didn't want to answer the question during such a situation. "I'll help you guys find your friends, and then we'll discuss what you mean."
The three of them seem to be confused about this statement. But they're friends are in trouble, and they need to focus. So they just agreed to continue this conversation later. And before long, all four of them were on their way to the signs of battle.
"Alright, I'm starting to think this isn't the League of Villains anymore!" Mineta yelled out in fear before narrowly escaping a claw slash from a Scrounger.
The machine skids its claws on the forest floor as it turns to the terrified Grape Hero. Bearing its saw-like mouth, it directed its robotic gaze at the small teen who stood in fear at the sight.
Suddenly, Tsuyu and Sero use their respective appendages to wrap around the Scrounger and bash it into a nearby tree. This didn't stop it though, and it violently thrashed around trying to escape.
"These things are tougher than the ones UA has! They're also flexible, so we aren't able to damage them as easily!" Sero exclaimed.
"Ashido! Try to dissolve the robot, kero!" Tsuyu exclaimed before quickly retracting her tongue from the machine.
"Alright, stand back!" Ashido aimed her arms at the bound machine, blasting acid all over it. The acid slowly dissolves the machine's chassis, but once it touches its central processing unit, it's as good as gone.
"There. Now we just have to do that to who knows how many robots." Sero groaned.
"Guys! Todoroki has created an ice barrier! Regroup and we can form a defensive position!" Iida waved to grab the attention of the group.
"But what about the others?! We split up a couple hundred meters back!" Aishido exclaimed in worry.
"Aoyama can create a beacon for them to follow, but he already used his Quirk too much!" Iida explained to the group. "What we should do now is hold the fort here until he gets his strength back."
And hold down the fort they did. Class 1A tries the best they could in order to fend off the machines they found themselves amongst. The larger machines were dealt with by the main combatants of the class, being Todoroki, Ojiro, Sato and Iida. The smaller machines were drawn away from the power players by the rest of the class hiding by the ice barrier, who try and protect each other since they don't have much in the way of combat capabilities against the machines. This was an effective strategy, and they managed to survive for a while.
But even during this chaos, they couldn't help but wonder what had happened to lead them in such a situation. One moment, they were just having class as usual. In fact, they were about to do another outdoor test with their hero costumes. But that was before they suddenly found themselves in this forest. Almost immediately, they were attacked by these strange animal-shaped machines, and since none of their teachers were there, or really anyone else for that matter, they didn't have a choice but to fight back with their Quirks. During the little times they had a break from these onslaughts, they tried to explore the surrounding area only to be met with more exhausting machine encounters. And now, five of them have been separated, and they need to pull themselves together in this strange forest or else they'll fall.
"Can Aoyama stand now?" Todoroki asked after impaling yet another machine with ice.
"I'm trying… just hold for a few more seconds while I get my bearings." Aoyama held his gut, face almost green due to overusing his Quirk.
"We're almost done here. Once the robots here are all cleared, you can use your laser as a beacon." Sato says as he smashes the heads of two Watchers together, but they're still up and running. "Damn it, is there still any sugar back there?! I'm running out of strength!"
"Oh, I think we just ran out!" Hagakure panicked while she frantically searched inside a bag that had come with them.
"Sato, fall back. I'll try and step in." Shoji looked around the battlefield before forming ears on his arms.
That's when the multi-armed Hero heard something. Looking in a certain direction away from the fight, faint and heavy thuds were heard in the distance. Noticing this reaction, the other students turn in worry as Shoji hears the thudding getting closer and closer.
"I don't like that look! Not one bit!" Mineta panicked upon seeing this reaction.
"Shoji, what's the situation?" Uraraka asked the guy.
"There's something huge, and it's coming this way." Shoji alerted the others, ears focused on picking up any more sound.
"Oh no, and the others are still preoccupied with the machines!" Yaoyorozu exclaimed before activating her Quirk. "I'm gonna need someone to stall for time, this cannon is gonna take a while to make."
"Todoroki! Something's heading our way!" Iida quickly went up to his classmate.
"I heard. We need to see what we're up against." Todoroki looked in the direction of the footsteps.
"I'll take a look!" Uraraka volunteered before using her Quirk to take to the skies as she used Asui's tongue as a tether.
As the gravity girl slowly went up higher and higher, things went silent for the group as they anticipated what was going to happen. The only sound that filled the area was the sound of the heavy footsteps, only getting louder and louder as the seconds tick by. They wait anxiously as Uraraka spots a pair of mechanical eyes, glowing deep red within the darkness of the night.
Suddenly, a metal appendage appeared from where the machine was and emitted a deafening trumpet noise. This caused everyone in the group to cover their ears due to the sheer power of this trumpet. Shoji was hit especially hard as he still had the ears on his arms out.
"Shoji! Are you okay?!" Koda went down as his fellow classmate struggled on the ground.
"I'm… I'm okay…" Shoji says between breaths.
"Uraraka! Are you okay?!" Tsuyu yelled out to her friend.
"Urgh…" Uraraka was beginning to get queasy once again.
"Wait, how is she getting dizzy already?!" Mina asked in a panic.
"Her eardrums have grown a lot more sensitive to deal with equilibrium problems when she uses her Quirk on herself." Yaoyorozu explained as the gravity girl groped her head in pain. "She was hit hard as well, and that pain must've triggered her nausea once again."
"You have to pull her back, Tsuyu!" Hagakure exclaimed to her frog classmate.
"Hang in there, Ochako!" Tsuyu yelled out as she began to reel her tongue back.
Uraraka slowly but surely managed to regain her composure. She wanted to puke basically what was everything she had eaten since yesterday morning, but she managed not to give in to
this instinct. Slowly opening her eyes, she wanted to get another glimpse of the robot moving through the forest canopy, but was met with a small but fast moving artillery shell coming her way.
"Tsuyu!"
"On it!"
Upon hearing her friend's demand, Tsuyu quickly moves her tongue to the side, making Uraraka dodge to the side enough to let the artillery shell graze her face slightly before shooting off into the horizon.
"What was that?!" Sero exclaimed.
"Whoa! That was close." Uraraka gulped as she watched the shell fly away. "Reel me back, Tsuyu!"
"Alright!"
Before long, Uraraka's feet meet the ground once again. Seeing that this thing could be heavily armed, the weaker ones of the group took a step back while Iida and Todoroki went to confront the machine.
"What do you think we should do?" Iida whispered.
"Flank to the side, we need to see what we're up again-"
Suddenly, the same metal appendage appears into the clearing, aiming itself towards the two teens before it begins to spew a wave of fire over the two teens.
"Nevermind! Get behind me!" Todoroki slammed his foot into the ground, creating a large ice barrier as the flames drew closer and closer.
The other students watch in horror as the flames surround Iida and Todoroki. The wave of fire crashes into the ice, and the fire-n-ice boy widens his eyes to see the ice melting faster than he can form it.
Eventually, the flames stop, and the two teens look around the barrier to wait for the machine to enter the scene. The footsteps thump heavily by, and slowly, the machine reveals its form to the students.
It was a machine around fifteen meters tall, and took the form of a proboscidean, mainly a mammoth with a downward sloping back. The appendage from before was seen as the machine's trunk, and it was surrounded by four large tusks. The machine also had multiple
weapons, namely the cannons under its eyes and on the base of its head, and the salvo artillery cannons further down its back. It also had a large sac of liquid hanging on its belly, further emphasizing the sheer size of this thing.
"A robot mammoth!" Mineta tried to yell out before being pulled back into cover with tape that was also covering his mouth shut.
"Shut it!" Sero pulled Mineta back as the others tried to process the sight of the machine.
Seeing the literal mammoth of a machine in front of them, Todoroki didn't hesitate to shoot out large ice spikes off the ground. The machine begins to blast fire out of its trunk in response, and the two extreme temperatures create wind disturbances as they neutralize each other.
"It's breathing fire!" Iida yelled.
Quickly deciding to change his strategy, Todoroki quickly slides out of the way of the trunk and quickly blasts fire into the machine. It was a direct hit, and the others watched in awe as this was happening.
"Todoroki, these attacks are weaker than normal. You've been using your Quirk too much for the past couple of hours!" Iida took note of the volatility of the attacks.
"All the more reason to end this quickly!" Todoroki exclaimed.
Meanwhile, the machine shrugs off the flames with ease, and begins to stomp its way to the teen, swinging its trunk and tusks around in a blind rampage.
"Incoming!" Iida quickly uses his Quirk to grab Todoroki out of the way.
Despite this, the machine still blindly charges forth, directly towards the other students.
"Out of the way!" Uraraka exclaimed as the students swarmed out of the way.
As the machine smashes through the ice barrier and the incoming trees, Yaoyorozu falters back with her newly created cannon. Struggling to handle the weight of the weapon, she aims the nozzle towards the machine.
"This just turned into a battle of attrition. This thing's tougher than any of the robots UA has to offer." Yaoyorozu spoke to the others as she steadied the aim of the cannon.
"Remember, never falter guys!" Iida orders as Todoroki continues to blast the machine with both fire and ice.
"Plus Ultra!" The other students roar out with determination.
The war of attrition begins, and Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, Ashido, Aoyama and Tokoyami attempt to bring the machine down with long ranged attacks. Those who were specialized to go up and personal couldn't help, since it was too much of a risk that they may be crushed underfoot. So those who specialized in mobility, like Iida, Uraraka and Sero focus on moving the others out of the danger zone. They would also help those who fight against the machine move out of the way whenever the machine uses its cannons.
Meanwhile, Midoriya and Bakugo blitz into the fray and begin to head against the massive machine in front of them.
"This is what we're worried about?! I could almost laugh!" Bakugo lets out a shit eating grin at the sight.
"I don't think this is the time for that! Who knows what this thing has in store!" Midoriya yelled out with caution.
"I'm not gonna listen to your shit, this thing's mine!" Bakugo yelled out as he began to spin around with his explosions. "Howitzer Impact!"
Using the energy generated midair, Bakugo lets out a significantly potent explosion into the front of the machine. Despite the dents forming in certain areas, all this did was shake the machine and cause its front legs to lift off the floor due to the energy.
"Yes! Bakugo and Midoriya are here!" Sero exclaimed in delight.
"Over here, guys!" Ashido waved an arm to grab their attention.
Unfortunately, this surprise came too early, and almost nobody noticed the machine collecting electricity into its front legs while they're still in the air. Nobody except Midoriya, but the legs were already inches away from the ground, ready to discharge.
"Everyone! Get out of there!" Midoriya warned out.
The front legs of the machine smash into the ground, discharging its electricity and spreading it to everything nearby. Midoriya, Bakugo, Uraraka, Iida, Sero and Todoroki were quick enough to lift themselves off the ground, but the others nearby, that being Ashido, Aoyama, Yaoyorozu and Tokoyami, got caught in the discharge.
"Ghhh!" All four of them grit their teeth as the electricity flows painfully through their bodies.
"Oh no!" Uraraka gasped at this.
The others turn to the giant machine, looming over them ready for another earth-shaking attack. Midoriya and Bakugo grit their teeth at this. This thing will not let up easily, so they have to take it down or else more of their fellow students will get hurt.
But before this could happen, two small handheld pouches appear out of nowhere, each landing in both the green haired boy and sand haired boy's hands. A quick glance shows that the pouches appear to have… berries?
"Those berries also act as an anesthetic to help with the pain! Give them to your friends and get them out of here!" The sound of a line reeling was heard from above.
Looking up, the students were surprised to see Aloy flying above them, using a grapple device on her wrist to fling herself at the fortress of a machine.
"Who is that?!" Iida gasped at the sight.
Facing the machine's gaze midair, Aloy tosses a couple of small bombs at once, all of them blowing up in the machine's face. Taking this opportunity, the machine huntress lands on top of the machine and faces the young heroes below.
"Hurry! I'll try to disarm this thing first! Get your friends away from the Tremortusk!" Aloy ordered before beginning to tinker with the cannons atop the machine's.
"Don't order me around, flame hair!" Of course, Bakugo had to bite at this. Geez, what kind of people did she stumble into?
"Don't insult someone you just met, Bakugo!" Iida waved his hands robotically at this.
"Move them out of here, Kacchan and I will help her with this robot!" Midoriya yelled out as he began to cackle green lightning.
"I would prefer if you would not use your strange powers while I'm on this thing!" Aloy yelled out upon hearing this.
"Huh?!" Bakugo exclaimed with confusion at this. "Just jump off the damn thing so we can turn it into a scrap pile already!"
"This machine is a walking tank, and even worse, its dark purple hue means it's an Apex variant, more vicious and more durable than a regular Tremortusk." Aloy explained as she began to disconnect the cannons from the main body.
And with that, the others realize where she was getting at. This machine did have darker platings and parts, different from the slight tan tinge seen with the other machines they have
brought down at this point.color on the machines before this one. Not only have they stumbled upon this tank of a machine, but it was also a more durable version.
Midoriya knew this. The thing had taken on his friend's most volatile attack, and only came out with a couple of dents. Using One for All at a hundred percent may end this easily, but that defeats the entire purpose of building up endurance. And plus, his arm could permanently tear even more due to his previous injury.
Looking at the berries they were given, Midoriya looks at his fallen comrades. Knowing that this mysterious redhead wanted to help them win this fight, he decides to follow her orders.
"Alright, we have to get them out of here!" Midoriya says as he slung Aoyama's arm over his shoulders. The same happened for Todoroki to Yaoyorozu, Uraraka to Ashido and Iida to Tokoyami.
"Who is she?" Iida asked.
"I don't know, but she seems like she knows what's going on." Midoriya stated before looking towards their class president. "We have to trust her. She may be our way of getting out of this forest."
"Alright, everyone!" Iida raised his hands up. "We're gonna have to trust the red haired huntress for this! Bakugo, stand by in case she needs help."
"Tch, I'd do a better job than her!" Bakugo snapped back before tossing his packet of berries to Midoriya.
Suddenly, there was the sound of two heavy objects hitting the ground. They group turns to see two cannons have landed next to the machine; Aloy had taken out a good portion of the machine's ranged options, and she was only getting started.
"You can use its own cannons against it! I'll draw this thing away, make sure you grab those cannons!" Aloy ordered once again.
Midoriya watched this entire ordeal while helping the injured steer clear from the Tremortusk. He watched as Aloy jumped in front of the machine's face from its back, throwing another bomb at the machine to disorient it once again.
The red headed huntress moves to Bakugo, who was standing nearby pissed at the situation.
"We have to distract it from the others. What do you have that can do that?" Aloy asked the sand haired boy.
"Don't underestimate me, idiot!" Bakugo hissed aggressively, before cupping his hands for an attack. "AP Shot!"
Many volatile projectiles blast from the boy's hands, exploding on impact as they hit the machine dead on. But this thing wasn't called a walking tank for nothing. The Tremortusk continued forward, walking off the damage.
"Well, at least you have some bite to back off that bark." Aloy deadpanned, catching Bakugo off guard.
"You think I'm gonna let that slide, flame hair?! As if you can do better with that bow!" Bakugo snapped back at this.
"Not really, but I've fought these things dozens of times." Aloy says as she takes an arrow from her quiver. "Though this is an Apex variant, so I expect you not to get cocky at an enemy like this."
"Tch, what did we even get ourselves into?" Bakugo growls as the Tremortusk stomps its way towards them.
Midoriya quickly takes note of the bow within the redhead's hands. But things begin to get strange once he takes note of her attacks. Archery, bombs, grappling hooks, none of which gives him an insight on the huntress' Quirk. What was it?
No, if she had a Quirk, she would've used it against something like the Tremortusk. And from the way she was fighting, she seems like the kind of person to find a use for everything in her arsenal.
The real question to ask was; does she even have a Quirk?
