Here is the first chapter of my side story to Tycoon. I started this story with just Yukino picking up Hikigaya's cousin at the train station. With Hikigaya, all three live together. But I started altering it here and there. After a while, I wrote a family gathering. And here it is. Not sure yet if I write an arc for each character but for now I just keep it simple for me. Sato Aika, Hikigaya's personal maid is the only side story that has a chronological timeline.

In the reflection of the mirror, a slender young teen girl gazes back with eyes as vibrant as the golden sunlight, their hue a mesmerizing contrast against the backdrop of her raven-black hair streaked with fiery red highlights. Adorned with a simple yet charming yellow headband, she exudes an aura of effortless style and confidence. Her attire, consisting of a casual blue T-shirt paired with crisp blue jeans cinched by a pristine white belt, speaks of youthful vibrancy and a carefree spirit. White shoes complete the ensemble, adding a touch of purity to her overall appearance.

As she stands before the mirror, her gaze is focused yet serene, her lips adorned with the faintest hint of color, accentuating the natural beauty of her features. A delicate beauty mole graces her cheek, adding a touch of allure to her countenance. With her eyes half-closed in a moment of introspection, she emanates an aura of quiet contemplation, as if lost in thought amidst the hustle and bustle of the world outside.

In this fleeting moment captured by the mirror's reflection, she embodies a captivating blend of youthful innocence and quiet sophistication, a vision of grace and poise that hints at the depths of her inner strength and resilience.

I bounded out of the house with youthful excitement, my heart filled with the promise of adventure in the sprawling countryside. The warm summer sun danced across the fields, painting the landscape in hues of gold and green as I reveled in the freedom of my summer break.

As I skipped along the winding path, a chirpy tune escaping my lips, my phone rang, disrupting my carefree reverie. With a curious tilt of my head, I answered, "Hello?"

"Sakura, where do you think you're going?" came my mother's concerned voice from the other end of the line.

My smile faltered slightly as I realized I hadn't informed my mother of my plans. "Oh, hi Mom! I'm just heading out to explore the countryside. It's such a beautiful day, and I thought I'd take advantage of it."

There was a brief pause before my mother responded, her tone firm yet gentle. "Sakura, I need you to come back home. We have an important family gathering to attend today."

My brow furrowed in confusion. "A family gathering? But Mom, I thought we didn't have any plans for today."

My mother sighed softly. "I know, dear. It was a last-minute arrangement. Your grandparents are hosting it, and they specifically requested our presence."

My eyes widened in surprise. "Grandma? Why would she want us there?"

My mother chuckled softly. "Well, you'll just have to come and find out. It seems she has something important to discuss with the family, and she wanted everyone to be present."

As I made my way back, I couldn't shake the feeling that today's family gathering held more significance than I initially thought. I wanted to play with my cousins and bring back the gang to conquer the countryside.

As I entered the gathering, I was greeted by the familiar faces of my aunts, uncles, and cousins, all gathered around a long, elegant table. At the head sat my grandmother and grandfather, their presence commanding respect and attention. Despite the warmth of the familial atmosphere, there was an air of anticipation lingering in the room, as if everyone was waiting for something significant to happen.

Just as I took my seat, the door swung open, and in walked two women, one of whom I recognized as my cousin Hachiman's mother. The other woman, however, immediately captured my attention. Clad in a crisp maid outfit, she exuded an aura of elegance and grace that was impossible to ignore—especially for a family from the countryside. It was a rare sight, indeed, to see a maid among us.

My eyes widened in awe as I took in the maid's striking appearance—the way her chestnut brown hair cascaded in waves down her back, the gentle curve of her smile, and the warmth in her caramel-colored eyes. Something about her presence was mesmerizing, something that drew me in and left me breathless. She was beautiful and graceful.

As the family continued to gather, I found myself stealing glances at the maid whenever I thought no one was looking. There was a sense of mystery surrounding her, an enigmatic allure that left me eager to learn more. Despite my initial surprise at seeing a maid in attendance, I couldn't deny the undeniable charm and grace that radiated from her.

Hikigaya Hachiman's mother, Hikigaya-san, walked and sat beside our grandmother, while the maid followed her and stood behind her. It was quite surprising, considering Hikigaya-san usually sits in the middle of the long table.

The Hikigaya clan had gathered in the grand hall of their ancestral home, the air thick with anticipation and curiosity. Our grandmother, a figure of authority and wisdom, stood at the head of the room, her presence commanding attention as she prepared to address her family.

With a solemn expression, she began to speak, her voice carrying the weight of years and experience. "My dear family, I have called you all here today for a matter of great importance."

The room fell silent as every member of the clan turned their attention to the matriarch, eager to hear what she had to say.

"It is time for me to step down from my position as the head of our clan," she continued, her gaze sweeping across the room. "And it is with great pride and conviction that I pass this responsibility to my grandson, Hikigaya Hachiman."

A murmur of surprise rippled through the room as family members exchanged glances, processing the unexpected announcement.

Our grandmother pressed on, her voice steady and resolute. "Hachiman has proven himself to be a capable and successful businessman, bringing honor and prosperity to our family name. Despite my initial doubts, he has surpassed all expectations and earned the respect of his peers and colleagues."

She paused, her eyes lingering on the maid with a mixture of pride and regret. "I must admit, I did not always see the potential in Hachiman as I should have. I allowed my own biases and preconceptions to cloud my judgment, and for that, I am deeply sorry."

As the gravity of the moment settled over the room, our grandmother turned to address the gathered family once more. "Let us embrace the future with open hearts and minds, united in our support of Hachiman as he leads our family into a new era of prosperity and unity."

Then, Mrs. Hikigaya began, her voice carrying a gentle authority. "As you are aware, we have gathered here on this special occasion at the invitation of Mother. I would like to introduce someone who holds significant importance in our household."

With a graceful gesture, Mrs. Hikigaya beckoned forward the maid. Stepping into the light, the maid, Sato Aika, came into view.

"This is Sato Aika," Mrs. Hikigaya introduced, her voice filled with pride. "She has been an invaluable member of our household, tirelessly dedicated to ensuring our comfort and well-being. She serves as both the personal maid and secretary of Hachiman."

Listening to my aunt's words, a realization slowly dawned upon me. Hachiman, whom I had always regarded as my younger cousin, was now revealed as the elder. The revelation sent a ripple of disbelief through my mind. For years, I had assumed the role of the elder cousin, yet now faced with the truth of Hachiman's status, I couldn't help but feel a sense of humility wash over me, especially now that he was announced as the head of the family.

"When I learned of Hachiman's success, I promptly informed Mother," Mrs. Hikigaya continued. "We deemed it necessary to address familial matters before they escalated. Following extensive discussions between Mother and Hachiman, it was decided that Hachiman would assume the role of the next head of the family. I understand that this decision may come as a surprise, particularly to those who have been preparing themselves for such a responsibility. I am here today to inform the family that my son, Hachiman, has established his own successful company. However, with this success may come unwanted attention and potential threats to our family's privacy and well-being. Therefore, I also wish to inform you that Sato Aika has been appointed as Hachiman's representative."

As Hikigaya-san continued to sing Sato-san's praises, I found myself studying the maid with newfound respect and admiration. Here was a woman who had overcome countless challenges and obstacles, remaining steadfast in her commitment to her duties and values.

As the gathering continued, I couldn't shake the sense of awe that lingered within me. And though the dynamic between Hachiman and me had shifted, I felt a newfound sense of camaraderie and respect for my cousin, recognizing him not just as a playmate, but as a leader and provider for our family. As I glanced once more at Sato-san, standing tall and graceful beside Hikigaya-san.

As the applause died down and the room quieted, all eyes turned to Sato-san, Hachiman's maid and representative at the family gathering. Standing with poise and grace, she cleared her throat before addressing the assembled Hikigaya clan.

"Thank you all for your warm welcome," Sato-san began, her voice soft yet filled with sincerity. "On behalf of Hachiman, I am deeply honored to accept this role as his representative and to stand before you today."

She paused, her gaze sweeping across the faces of the family members gathered before her. "I regret to inform you that Hachiman was unable to join us this evening due to pressing commitments. He is currently in the process of purchasing a home in Tokyo, a decision he made intending to provide Sakura-chan with the opportunity to attend school in the city."

A murmur of surprise and admiration rippled through the room at Sato-san's words, the significance of Hachiman's actions not lost on his family members. As Sato-san continued to speak, explaining Hachiman's dedication to my education and future, I sat in stunned silence, my mind reeling with disbelief.

This was the first I had heard of such plans, and I couldn't help but feel a mixture of confusion and gratitude swirling within me. As the family gathering came to a close, "Mom," I began tentatively, my voice trembling with uncertainty, "did you know about Hachiman buying a house in Tokyo for me to attend school?"

My mother's expression softened as she turned to face me, a hint of sadness flickering in her eyes. "Yes, Sakura. I did know," she admitted gently. "You took the entrance exams for schools a few months ago, remember? We talked about it, but perhaps you've forgotten."

"Mom, don't get mad," I asked.

"What is it?" My mom asked.

"I stopped taking the exams seriously after the second one. It was boring," I replied.

"Honey?" My mother rubbed the bridge of her nose before continuing, "I want to make sure. You didn't cheat off of anyone?"

"No, I rolled my pencil," I replied.

My mother's face paled.

"I... I'm sorry, Mom," I stammered, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I just... I guess I was too caught up in other things. I mean, it's summer. I should be able to plan my adventure."

"Honey, the high school you're entering is an elite high school and is pretty strict," my mother said.

"Eh?"

"Don't 'Eh' me. Honey, what are you thinking? You should take your exams seriously. That's not all, you agreed to go to this school too," my mother mentioned.

"I agreed?" I asked.

"Oh my God! Did you actually forget about it?" my mother asked.

"Ah! I remember now that Dad did ask if I wanted to go to Tokyo. And I answered yes," I answered.

"I can't believe you. We didn't ask you if you wanted to go to Tokyo for a visit but for school."

As my mother attempted to steer the conversation back to a serious tone, I couldn't resist injecting my brand of humor into the situation.

"Mom, come on," I said, a mischievous glint in my eye. "You know me, I'm like a free spirit, floating in the wind of life's adventures. Tokyo just seemed like the next logical step in my journey of self-discovery."

My mother sighed, clearly exasperated but unable to suppress a small smile at her daughter's theatrics. "Sakura, I understand you want to explore and experience new things, but education is important too. You can't just float through life without a plan."

"Who said I don't have a plan?" I replied with a grin, leaning back in my chair. "I've got it all figured out, Mom. Step one: Attend an elite high school in Tokyo. Step two: Conquer said elite high school with my charm and wit. Step three: Take over the world."

My mother raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Taking over the world, huh? That's quite the ambitious plan."

I nodded seriously. "Oh. But don't worry, Mom. I'll make sure to send you a postcard when I become ruler of the universe."

My mother couldn't help but chuckle at my audacity. "Well, just make sure you focus on step one for now. And please, take your studies seriously."

I feigned a look of innocence. "Of course, Mom. Serious as a heart attack. But you know what they say, all work and no play makes Sakura a dull girl."

"Sakura..." My mother's tone was a warning, but I could see the hint of amusement in her eyes.

"Okay, okay, I promise I'll buckle down and study hard," I relented, flashing my mother a grin. "But can't blame a girl for wanting to have a little fun along the way, right?"

My mother sighed, shaking her head affectionately. "Just promise me you won't get into too much trouble."

"I solemnly swear," I said with a mock salute. "Now, about this adventure to Tokyo..."

Recalling the events of the evening, I observed the interactions between my aunt and the maid, noting the respect and admiration flowing between them. It was evident that the maid held a special place in my aunt's heart, and I couldn't help but feel curious about their relationship.

As the night progressed, I found myself drawn to the maid, struck by her unwavering professionalism and quiet strength.

By the end of the gathering, I couldn't shake the feeling that the beautiful maid had left a lasting impression on me—one that would stay with me long after the night had ended. As I bid farewell to my family and made my way home, I couldn't help but wonder about the secrets behind the maid's captivating smile.

Entering our home, my parents sighed softly, the weight of the evening's revelations still heavy on their minds. Sitting down at the kitchen table, they motioned for me to join them.

"Sakura, we need to talk," my parent began, their tone gentle yet firm.

I nodded, taking a seat across from them, my heart still racing from the events of the evening.

"I know tonight was a lot to take in," my parent continued, "but I want to remind you of something important."

I looked up, curiosity and apprehension mingling in my eyes.

"We're proud of you, Sakura," my parent said, their voice filled with warmth and affection. "But we also need to make sure you're mindful of your behavior and responsibilities, especially now that your cousin Hachiman is taking on more responsibilities within the family."

As my parents spoke about my responsibilities and mentioned my cousin Hachiman, my curiosity peaked.

"Hold on a sec," I interjected, my brow furrowing in confusion. "About Hachiman?"

My parents nodded, their expressions softening with fond memories. "Yes, what about him? He's grown up a lot since then. He's taken on more responsibilities within the family, especially now that he's settled in Tokyo."

I leaned forward eagerly, my interest piqued. "What's he like now? Is he still as sarcastic as ever? And why didn't anyone tell me he's older than me?"

My parents exchanged a glance before my mother spoke up. "Well, Hachiman has matured quite a bit. He's become more reserved and thoughtful. And as for his age, we thought you knew. He's a few years older than you, dear."

My eyes widened in surprise. "A few years older? Seriously? How did I not know this? And why didn't he ever mention it?"

My father chuckled softly. "Well, you know Hachiman. He's not one to boast about his age. And with all the family gatherings, it's easy to lose track of time."

I nodded, absorbing this new information. "I guess that makes sense. But I still can't believe he's older than me. I always thought we were around the same age."

My mother smiled warmly. "Time flies, dear. People change, and relationships evolve. Just remember to treat Hachiman with respect and consideration. He's family, after all."

I nodded, my mind swirling with thoughts about my older cousin. "Got it, Mom. I'll make sure to catch up with Hachiman next time we're in Tokyo. Who knows, maybe he'll have some wisdom to impart to this clueless younger cousin of his."

"I know you're excited about the prospect of attending school in Tokyo," my parent continued, "but it's important to remember that your studies come first. No distractions, no boys, and no getting sidetracked by other things."

My cheeks flushed with embarrassment at the mention of boys, but I nodded in agreement, knowing my parent only had my best interests at heart.

"And when you see Hachiman again," my parent added, "make sure to greet him warmly and respectfully. He's taking on a lot of responsibility, and it's important to show him the respect he deserves."

I nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination and purpose stirring within me.

"Okay, Mom," I said softly, my voice tinged with determination. "I'll make sure to stay focused and be respectful. I won't let you down."

My parent smiled, reaching across the table to squeeze my hand gently. "I know you won't, Sakura. We believe in you."

As I sat in the comfort of my home, my mind whirling with thoughts of the evening's revelations, I couldn't shake the sense of anticipation building within me. The prospect of attending school in Tokyo loomed before me like a beacon of possibility, promising a future filled with adventure and opportunity.

But amidst the excitement, a nagging thought tugged at the corners of my mind—an unsettling whisper of doubt and uncertainty. What if my cousin Hachiman's newfound responsibilities proved too much for him to handle? What if his actions were driven by motives darker than mere generosity and goodwill?

As I pondered these questions, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease creeping over me. Hachiman was undeniably talented and successful, but there was something about him—a hidden depth, a shadow lurking beneath his charming facade—that gave me pause.

And as I glanced at the framed photograph of my grandmother hanging on the wall, a pang of doubt gripped my heart. Would my grandmother come to regret her decision to pass the mantle of leadership to Hachiman? Would his true colors eventually reveal themselves, casting a shadow over the future of the clan?

With a heavy sigh, I pushed aside my doubts, determined to focus on the opportunities that lay before me. But deep down, a seed of uncertainty had been planted—a seed that would soon blossom into a tangled web of secrets and lies, threatening to unravel the very fabric of my family's legacy.

I stood on the porch of my family home, embraced by the warmth of summer. Friends and family gathered outside to bid me farewell as I prepared for my journey to Tokyo. Saying goodbye in my tank top and short shorts, I relished the freedom of the summer heat.

Chatting with my friends, my eyes, reminiscent of golden suns, sparkled with excitement. With each farewell, my heart swelled with gratitude for their love and support. I was ready for the adventures awaiting me in Tokyo, eager to carve my path in the bustling city.

However, just as I was about to head inside to prepare, I was met by Hikigaya's personal maid, who had been patiently waiting for me.

"Sakura-san," Sato-san began, her tone gentle yet firm. "As a young lady, it's important to dress appropriately for travel and maintain modesty."

I blinked in surprise, momentarily taken aback by the unexpected advice. Glancing down at my outfit, I suddenly felt self-conscious under the scrutiny of the maid's disapproving gaze.

"But it's so hot outside," I protested, a hint of defiance creeping into my voice. "I just wanted to be comfortable."

The maid nodded understandingly, but her expression remained unwavering. "I understand, Sakura-san. However, it's essential to present yourself respectfully, especially when traveling to a new place."

My carefree demeanor quickly shifted as I was met with the disapproving gaze of the maid, prompting me to change into a more modest knee-length skirt and blouse.

Stepping back outside to join my friends, their laughter filled the warm summer air. They teased me for the sudden change in attire, finding it odd to see me in such modest clothing.

"Sakura, what happened to your daring summer look?" one friend exclaimed, stifling a giggle behind her hand. "I almost didn't recognize you without the tank top and short shorts!"

"Yeah, who are you and what have you done with our tomboyish Sakura-chan?" another chimed in, playfully poking fun at me.

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly, a faint blush rising to my cheeks. "Oh, come on, guys. I just wanted to be comfortable for the journey. It's not like I'm attending a formal event or anything."

As my friends teased me, their laughter filling the air with warmth and camaraderie, I noticed a different reaction from the only boy in the group.

Catching his eye, I was met with a soft blush spreading across his cheeks, his gaze lingering on my new modest attire. A flutter of butterflies danced in my stomach, my cheeks flushing at the unexpected attention.

"Um, Sakura," he stammered, his voice slightly shaky. "You, uh, you look really nice in that outfit."

My heart skipped a beat at his compliment, a shy smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "Th-thank you," I replied, feeling the warmth spread through my chest at his words.

As my friends continued to laugh and joke around us, I couldn't help but feel a newfound sense of confidence in my modest attire.

"Seriously, why do I always have to be the one providing the comic relief?" I mused, addressing an unseen audience with a playful twinkle in my eye. "Can't a girl have a serious moment without it turning into a scene straight out of a teen romance novel?"

With a theatrical sigh, I shook my head, my black hair with red highlights swaying in the breeze. "Oh well, I guess that's just how the story goes. But mark my words, next time, I'm taking charge of my own narrative!"

With a mischievous grin, I turned to join my friends, ready to embrace whatever adventures awaited me in Tokyo, determined to carve out my path and break free from the confines of being the designated comic relief.
