This is the 25th chapter. I don't own the series of One Piece.
Skypiea's Upholder of the Law!
Skypiea, Angels Beach
After the White Berets arrived at the beach and informing the Skypieans of the Straw Hats illegal entry to Sky Island, it got Pagaya and Conis shocked. The Straw Hats, however were confused since they were able to make to the Skypiea without paying, but Ventus, Leon, and Caius knew something was wrong about it because Amazon never informed them about the illegal entrance and without paying extols since Sky Island has the law.
"You're calling them criminals?!" Pagaya exclaims, but Luffy is confused.
"Illegal entry? What's that?" Luffy asks, turns to Pagaya.
'Dumbass!' Ventus, Leon, and Caius mentally shouts with a tick mark on their heads.
"Lets just say it's not good." Pagaya quickly answered when McKinley pulled out the photos from his cape and showed it to him and Conis.
"Don't waste your breath making excuses! Amazon, the woman who stands at Heaven's Gate capture these vary images using her Vision Dial!" McKinley informed them.
"No, wait! That can't be!" Pagaya protests, turns to the White Berets. "I think this is all a big misunderstanding, Captain McKinley! They're not the criminals you making them ought to be!"
Captain McKinley puts the photos back in his cape, which he's not convinced when Leon placed his hand on Pagaya's shoulder, earned his attention.
"It's fine, Pagaya." Leon assures him.
"What are you talking about? Better yet, what does he mean by illegal entry?" Sanji inquires.
"Remember back at Heaven's Gate when the old hag mentioned about the extols?" Ventus questions with a ponder.
"Does it have to do with that ridiculous one billion extol entrance fee?" Robin guessed. "Because we didn't pay her a thing.
"But didn't that old lady say we didn't have to pay it?" Usopp recalled with a shrug. "It's not like she'd try to stop us."
"Yeah, that's true!" Chopper agrees.
"Enough! There's no sense tried to deny it! Now, fess up!" McKinley shouts which Conis and Pagaya are starting to grew worried. "Don't worry, you'd need not become panic just yet! According to Heaven's Judgment, illegal entry is only in the 11th degree crime! One you accept your punishment, which will be minimal, you'll become legal tourist on the spot and may go about your business!"
"Well, you should've told us that sooner." Sanji said sarcastically, crossed his arms. "But before we accept, what exactly do you have planned as far as punishment?"
"A mere slap on a wrist: All you need to do is pay 10 times the entrance fee." McKinley answered. "Of course, if you pay immediately, we'll pretend this little episode never happened. So, 10 billion per person times 10 people makes your total 100 billion extols, cash only."
"Well, you see, that's kind of a problem." Ventus points out.
"What? You don't have the extol?" McKinley questions.
"That's not it. You see, this is the first time we came to Sky Island, and we didn't know the currency difference." Ventus explains. "We tried asking the old lady about the extol, but she told us we can just pass through without paying. She didn't tell us what the price was in berri."
"That's the currency used up in the Blue Sea World, right?" McKinley inquires. "Today's exchange rates are 10 thousand extols per berri."
Usopp tried to calculate the amount in his head.
"5?" Usopp guessed.
"100 billion extol is 10 million berries, genius." Robin remarked as Sanji dropped his jaws in shock.
"Get real! Do you realize how expensive that is?!" Sanji exclaims with his veins popped out of his forehead. "After risking our lives coming to this place, why should we have to pay a stupid fee just to enter your precious city?!"
"Sanji, calm down!" Caius said calmly.
"How can I calm down?! We can't agree on that!" Sanji shouts.
"You brought this on yourselves!" McKinley retorted. "If you'd just pay the 10 million berries in the first place, we wouldn't be having this talk!"
"That's still way too-"
"Guys, leave this talk to me." Leon cuts in with his raised arm as he turns to McKinley. "Look, Captain. There's something you don't seem to understand. We were never told of the currency up here in the first place. When we first arrived at the Heaven's Gate, your looked failed to mention about the differences between extol and berries. Not only that, she also gave us a misleading information, starting that we still can come up here without paying the entrance fee."
"I believe I had said you're in no position in making excuses." McKinley told the mercenary.
"You're missing the point. This isn't me making excuses, but rather explaining to you why we didn't pay the entrance fee." Leon explained since he's not getting anywhere with him. "Think of it this way. You're in a new land, one that has a currency difference from what you're used to. You hear there's an entrance fee at a really high place for being there and wanted to know how much it's in the currency you're used to. But instead of getting a straight answer, you're told not to worry about it. Then later on, you find yourself mislead without knowing or paying the fee, simply because that you don't know how much the fee was in your currency."
That explanation got to McKinley that time, which the Straw Hats, except Luffy, are surprised that Leon is given him the information.
"When you put it that way, I suppose you're being reasonable." McKinley said with a ponder. "And your friend there said this is your first time in Sky Island, correct?"
"Yes sir." Ventus replied with a nod.
"Then I suppose we can just let you off with a warning." McKinley said. "However, you still must pay the 100 thousand berries."
"You're still being unreasonable!" Sanji shouts, but earned a punch in the face by Ventus.
"Shut up! We're not looking for further conflict with these guys!" Ventus shouts with white eyes and shark-like teeth as Sanji crashed into the ground and knocked out. "Anyway, I'll go and see if I have that amount in my pouch."
"There's no need. I already had it with me after I get my things for coming with you guys." Leon points out as he extends the money to McKinley. "This should cover the entrance fee, 10 million berries, right?"
"That's right." McKinley nods as he grabs the money and checks it to confirm which it's the same amount. "Thank you! Heso!"
And with that, the White Berets when they notice an old waver next to Pagaya, Conis, and the crew.
"Before we leave, we wanted to know how you got a hold of the waver?" McKinley inquires which it got their attention. "It almost like it's been wrecked."
Skypiea, White-White Sea
Meanwhile, Nami hurried back to Angels Beach since she's taking her joyride way too long and got the curiosity better of her when she noticed an island, watching one of the explorers being surrounded by the Birkans and getting killed by the heavenly beam. She's right focusing on head back to warn her crew.
'Those weird guys from earlier somehow knew about us coming to Sky Island. That means Luffy and the others may be in trouble. Better hurry back.' Nami mentally thought as she continued to ride the waver.
Skypiea, Angels Beach
While back at the Angels Beach, McKinley and Pagaya were examining the old waver. Ventus was able to explain how they found it.
"Are you saying this waver isn't yours?" McKinley asks. "By the looks of it, it's been abused."
"Believe it or not, that's how it looks like when we found it at the old wreck in the sea." Ventus answered. "Far as we know, it's over 200 years old."
"I see." McKinley said with an understanding. "Normally, there's a 10th degree law for destroying the waver, but after what you just told me, it's different. Though, I was under the impression wavers didn't exist in the Blue Sea World."
"True, but the first time we saw the waver here, it would explain how it works as long as the dials are functioned." Caius states with an agreement. "But I still doubt that the waver can be fixed."
"Of as long as the dials are still functional, then I can fix it." Pagaya told him, then looked at the waver. "But still, I've never seen anything like this."
"But you can fix it right?" Luffy asks with sparkles in his eyes along with a goofy grin. "I can't wait to ride this thing, I hope you can fix it."
'More likely you're just planning to take the joyride and fall into the sea.' Ventus, Leon, Sanji, and Caius mentally thought with a sweat drop.
"You're not using that for a joyride!" Usopp shouts to the Captain. "You remember last time?"
Luffy was given a look like 'what last time?' face which it got Usopp face first down to the ground and Ventus and Leon bonked him in the head, burying him into the cloud beneath.
"MORON!" Ventus and Leon yelled with white eyes and shark-like teeth.
"Are they always like that?" McKinley asks with a sweat drop.
"No, it's just Luffy. He always gets himself and his crew into a lot of trouble." Caius told him with a sigh. "But as far as I can see, this happens constantly."
"Yeah, and we got scars to prove it." Sanji adds in annoyance, changes the subject. "Still, we need to find Nami. I'm getting worried."
"Then let's go!" Luffy suggests, somehow recovered. "Soon as the wind changes this direction, we can head out for another adventure-I mean to look for Nami."
That got Usopp flinched as he quickly ran to Luffy.
"Listen to me!" Usopp shouts which it got the White Berets attention, decided to calm down. 'Wait, keep your cool, Usopp! Try and talk some senses into him...'
He then tried a different approach since the White Berets are watching and the Straw Hats won't be able to get to Nami with them around. But knowing Luffy, he'll just get himself into trouble without thinking about the consequences.
"You know, Captain, if Nami's just taking a joyride around the island. She may be back any minute." Usopp told him with his arms crossed and turns away. "If we leave now, we can miss her. We don't want that now, do we?"
"You think so?" Luffy asks which Ventus, Leon, and Caius realizes what Usopp is planning.
"She's taking way too long for that!" Chopper protests, causing Usopp to flinch as he quickly rushes into him while covering his mouth and pressing his nose close against his with budging eyes.
"Shut up! The reason Luffy's here in the first place is to prove he can go where he was told we can't go, not chasing Nami stupid!" Usopp shouts in a whispered tone which Chopper gets the message loud and clear.
"That's true." Robin agrees.
"Let's just go." Zoro suggests with his arms crossed as Usopp gets up and turns to him and Robin.
"Yeah, guys! Conis warned us about that, remember?" Usopp recalled. "If we go, we'll incur Eneru's wrath. Then who knows how much trouble we'll be in."
"So, what now?" Chopper asks.
"Our best bet is to wait here for Nami and try not to upset the White Berets." Usopp answered. "I mean, it's Nami we're talking about, she always somehow found some kind of treasure and try to come back here."
It got McKinley suspicious as he approaches them.
"Alright, what are you all blabbing about over there?" McKinley demands. "And where's your tenth crewmate?! I only count nine! Do I need to add a suspicion of fleeing the island in your list of charges?!"
"Whoa, let's not get carried away here!" Usopp exclaims quickly. "She's just taking a waver out for a quick spin. Soon as she gets back, we'll let you be on your way with the entrance fee. You can trust us, sir, we're good for it."
But soon as Usopp proves by given him a thumb up with a nervous smile, sweating bullets and hoping it convinces him, McKinley scoffs and complied.
"Okay, I think I bought us some time. Now Luffy, don't do anything stupid to make Nami or Ventus angry, you know how they can get." Usopp informed.
"I over here, you know." Ventus said in annoyance with a tick mark on his head while Luffy groans with a pout.
"Sanji, you too." Usopp continued, turns to Sanji.
"Yeah, yeah." Sanji replied with a reluctance.
"Great, that's the plan!" Usopp states with a confident smirk. "We'll meet back here later."
Sanji and Robin were the first to walk away, which of course the cook offers her some tea as she accepts. Zoro, Leon, and Caius then walks away while as Usopp sighed with relief.
"Boy, that was a close one." Usopp muttered nervously, then thought of an idea as he follows Chopper. "Hey, Chopper! You wanna go fishing or something?"
"Totally! Let's do it!" Chopper answered excitedly.
"Conis!" Usopp called her, earned her attention. "Are there any good fishing spots you know around here?"
"I know one about 5 minutes from here. Follow me." Conis said as she guides Usopp and Chopper to the fishing spot.
"Do you think it's a good idea for them to fish in the middle of the White Sea?" Leon questions, raising his eyebrow.
"I doubt it. Last Usopp tried diving down in the cloud, we all saw how terrified he was." Ventus points out.
"And with that question, there's also a law that fishing something rare is forbidden which it's a 9th degree crime by the way." McKinley informed them. "Same goes for killing it and biting it."
"As long that's rare, it's prohibited for fishing it out, correct?" Caius correct when McKinley nods as he turns to Usopp and Chopper. "Well, lets just hope they got something that's non-rare."
Ventus and Leon somehow doubt that, but not saying it out loud as they decide to keep an eye on them. Usopp was able to convince Luffy to join them fishing which he accepts it without any second thoughts while getting not to have him fight against the White Berets. While inside of the structure, both Sanji and Robin are relaxing after the cook made tea.
"This is the life." Sanji said in a relaxing tone with a smile. "Gorgeous girl in a view, not bad. Maybe I should give Ventus some tips about making a lady happy."
But apparently, Ventus overheard that since it got him very annoyed of Sanji's insistence on making a woman happy, much to Robin's amusement. Zoro is lying against the tree while Su is next him. Leon, Caius, and Ventus are continuing to play poker while Mckinley and the White Berets watches Usopp, Chopper, and Luffy fishing, which the liar somehow got a bite.
"I'm losing it...!" Usopp grunts, struggling to pull the fishing pole.
"Don't let it get away!" Chopper said, holding his leg while tries to help him.
"...It's slipping...!" Usopp said, tried to pull.
"Luffy! Help!" Chopper called him.
It got Luffy's attention when he noticed Usopp got a bite as he grabs hold of him, helps him try to pull. With his sheer strength, Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp pulls the fishing rod and reeled a huge-sized Sky Fish out of the sea.
"We got it!" Usopp shouts.
"It's a big one!" Chopper adds.
But soon as the string snapped, Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper stumbled down into the beach, and Conis widen her eyes with horror when the Sky Fish is about to eat her as she screams in panic. Zoro rushes after it as he leaps in midair and draws out his sword, twisted it in reverse and hits it in the head, knocking the big fish down to the ground. McKinley and the White Berets watched the scene which it got them surprised Zoro was able to knock it out with ease. Zoro lands and sheathed his sword when Usopp and Chopper rush next to him.
"What did we catch?" Usopp asks curiously. "A fish or a monster?"
"It tried to eat Conis." Chopper muttered.
"I take it this is a Sky Fish." Zoro states.
"You're heroes!" Pagaya said happily, earned their attention. "Mere words cannot express how grateful I am that you save my daughter."
"Father, look." Conis called her father which it got his attention as they looked at the knocked-out fish.
"We're in trouble." Pagaya said with worry.
"Is it one of those rare fish?" Ventus inquires.
"Yes, but after witnessing of your crew took down that Sky Fish, I'll let it slide since it's self-defense." McKinley answered.
Ventus, however, is starting to get angry because of Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper's stupidity as he slowly approaches the three.
"However, if it's dead, I'll have to give them a 9th degree crime." McKinley informed them.
"Why is that a crime?!" Chopper exclaims. "That thing was gonna eat Conis! Zoro saved her-"
"Zoro, give me those three idiots to me! I'm gonna have a word with them!" Ventus interrupts with a growl which it got Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper.
"Sure, they're all yours." Zoro replied, drags them to Ventus, who grabs hold of Usopp, Luffy, and Chopper.
Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper begs Ventus for mercy and forgiveness, but the young Dragoon won't have any of that as he keeps dragging them with pure enraged look on his face.
"What's he gonna do with them?" McKinley inquires.
"You don't want to know." Zoro replied.
"YOU STUPID IDIOTS! DID ANY OF YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU THREE JUST DID?! CAPTAIN MCKINLEY WARNED US WHENEVER WE CATCH A RARE FISH IS A 9TH DEGREE CRIME AND WHAT DID YOU DO?! YOU CAUGHT A RARE SKY FISH WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES! DO YOU NOT KNOW THERE ARE LAWS HERE AT SKY ISLAND! IF I DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER, I WOULD'VE LET YOU THREE MORONS DROWN INTO THE WHITE SEA AND HAVE YOU FALL INTO THE BLUE SEA AT THE GRAND LINE!?" Ventus yelled angrily, beating Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper senseless.
"Geez, don't those three idiots ever learn?" Sanji asks in annoyance, after hearing Ventus' loud voice.
"I'm pretty sure they'll learn, if nothing else." Robin states.
After a short while of beating, Ventus dragged his now bloody and battered Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper back to the front where everyone is.
"You three better be lucky that I didn't do worse than beating you silly. So, you better let that lesson be learned." Ventus berates them.
"Sorry." Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper groans with an apology, causing Ventus to let them go.
"But still, the fish is just knocked out." Caius states, kicks it as the Sky Fish regained its consciousness.
Luffy grins excitedly with his mouth watery, about to grab hold of the fish when Ventus grabs him by the collar.
"What did I say?!" Ventus growls which Luffy's face is pale as he slowly turned his face to him.
"But...But...I..."
Ventus cuts him off by beating him silly, leaving Luffy bumps and bruises all over his mouth.
"I thought I made it one perfectly clear about it, Luffy. If you try to get us into trouble, I will throw your sorry ass into the White Sea and this time, I'm gonna let you drown." Ventus warned him.
"I'm sorry...real sorry...Please, don't ruin my face anymore..." Luffy pleads with an apology.
McKinley and the White Berets can only sweat drop in respond, which they're frightened of the young Dragoons rage and for beating up his crew. Though, it didn't surprise the rest of the Straw Hats since they know that Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper had that one coming.
"Uh, is it always like this?" McKinley questions.
"In more ways than one, this kid can only get mad whenever Luffy, Usopp, or Chopper tries anything stupid. Mostly Luffy and Usopp tried something stupid." Zoro answered.
"I see." McKinley said as the Sky Fish returned to the sea.
"But we still have questions that need answers, which we got the currency difference part." Ventus told him, pulling a bag of dials out of his pouch. "But we also got a hold these from the wreck and we were wondering what can you make of it."
And with that, McKinley and Pagaya starts examining the Dials which they can tell these seashells looked over 200 years old, but notice that one of them can still function which it's not the way they expect.
"Well, what do you make of it?" Usopp asks, crossed his arms.
"It's just like the waver, I've never seen any of them like this before." Pagaya explains. "Though, one of the dials nearly shocked Captain McKinley."
"Yeah, we know." Ventus and Usopp said with a sweat drop, remembered that.
"But, I can fix them and have it functional. But it'll take more than one day to get it done." Pagaya points out.
"We can understand that." Leon replied with an understanding. "There's no rush, but right now, we're just waiting for Nami to get back."
And speaking of, Nami was able to get back to Angels Beach, but notice the White Berets and it got her worried since she knows that there's trouble.
"Oh no, there's a whole group of people! I hope they're not those guys from before." Nami said with a gasp. "Whoever they are, I hope Luffy's not pulling any of his usual stunts."
"But I'll keep those dials and see what I can do." Pagaya said. "I can't promise you that I would..."
"I'M BACK!" The voice of Nami shouts which it got their attention.
"Nami, baby~! I missed you~!" Sanji said, gone goo-goo eyed as he waved his hands.
"Luffy! Promise you won't start any trouble, okay!" Nami shouts.
"Don't know if I can keep that promise!" Luffy retorted.
"Nami! Where have you been?!" Leon shouts. "You've been gone for too long! Those White Berets are getting suspicious of us and we were that close of getting a degree for the crimes we commit!"
"Oh, is that so? And I wonder what crime would that be?" Nami asks with her eyes shadowed in her bangs, smiled in a dangerous tone.
But Nami presses the gas pedal as she drives the waver faster towards the beach which it got McKinley's attention. She then hits him in the face with a waver.
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU GUYS DO?!" Nami yelled with white eyes and shark-like teeth, sending McKinley flying as he crashed right into the wall while she lands. "Oh crap! I got so worked up, I forgot to hit the brakes!"
"Ouch." Zoro, Usopp, Leon, and Ventus said, air slapped her.
It got the White Berets rushed to their Captain while Nami walk towards Conis and Pagaya with the waver on her hands.
"Hey, thanks for letting me use your waver, I love the way it handles." Nami thanked him.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, but more importantly, do you realize how much trouble you're in now?!" Pagaya exclaims when Leon approaches to the White Beretes which it got their attention.
"Aurora" Leon then uses his magic to heal McKinley.
"I've healed him somewhat, so at least he won't wake up with a concussion." Leon informed them. "But you should still give him some treatment."
"But you gentlemen can do it in my house." Pagaya suggests.
"Thank you very much! Heso!"
"Leon, if you're done, we should get outta here!" Nami called him.
"Aww, weren't you gonna finish the fight you just started?" Luffy complains when Sanji and Robin walked out, joining their crew.
"Trust me, this Eneru was not someone we want to mess with." Nami points out.
"I assume that's another crime in our records?" Zoro questions with his arms crossed.
"Oh yes, quite, and knocking out official was a crime of the 5th degree." Pagaya answered.
"5th, huh? Could be worse." Usopp said.
"That's not good at all." Conis told them, earned their attention. "Once you found guilty of committing a 5th degree crime, almighty Eneru will banish you to the drifting clouds."
"How's that bad?" Usopp asks curiously.
"Land of the Drifting Clouds, that sounds like fun." Luffy states with a grin, placing his hands on the back of his head, but earned a bonk on a head from Ventus and Caius.
"It's a death sentence! You'll die!?" Conis told them.
"WE-WE DIE?!" Usopp, Chopper, and Nami yelled in panic, but most of the Straw Hats turned their attention to the White Berets and the unconscious McKinley.
"You really got him good, Nami." Zoro comments, which Usopp, Nami, and Chopper are concerned. "But come on, a death sentence in Gods Land? It's quite a contradiction."
"But it's the truth! This is very serious!" Conis protests. "They'll put you and your ship on a small cloud and set you adrift into the sea with no chance of rescue or escape! You'll eventually die a slow and painful death! It's terrible!"
"Interesting." Robin muttered, crossed her arms in realization. "That must be why we saw that ship fallen from the sky."
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Usopp inquires in wonder.
"Don't you remember that galley we saw falling?" Robin recalled. "The St. Briss I think it was called. For we know, that crew could've been punished for over 200 years ago."
It got Usopp remembered the time when the Straw Hats, except Leon, first saw a ship falling from the sky and investigate inside before encountering Masira which it got his face pale with horror. The thoughts were interrupted when the White Berets turned to the Straw Hat pirates.
"YOU CRIMINALS!?"
"Do you scum know what you did to our Captain?!"
"Who cares?!" Sanji retorted in annoyance.
"Sanji, let me handle this." Naim suggests.
"Anything for you~!" Sanji said with goo-goo eyes as Nami walked a few steps to the White Berets.
"Don't take it so personally, it was a lucky shot." Nami told them with a shrug.
"A lucky shot?!"
"Completely unintentional." Nami said which the White Berets aren't convinced.
"You're lying!"
"No, I'm telling you the truth! It was an accident, I swear!" Nami denies.
"An accident?!"
"Uh, okay guys, look, try wrapping your heads around this. It was an accident, because those wavers are really hard to control, and it was already my first time to ever pilot one." Nami lied which the White Berets are starting to get angry while the Straw Hats, Conis, and Pagaya are beginning to realize what she's doing. "So, I made a little mistake while I was turning. Yeah...I'll admit that makes me clumsy, but can you blame a beginner for messing up and nearly killing your boss."
"That's weird. Seem like you had a pretty good handling it to me." Luffy blurted out which it got her attention.
'Shut up!' Nami mentally shouts with a tick mark on her head.
"Pretty good handling it, huh?" Leon said with a low tone as he bonked Luffy in the head very hard. "You and your stupid eyes! Never knowing the difference between joyride and bad situations! Nami, although had managed to stay on the waver for so long, WASN'T fun and she's having trouble with it!"
"Easy, Leon, let me handle it." Usopp assures as he wraps Luffy around, pressing his long nose against his face with budging eyes while Nami continued try to convince the White Berets. "And Luffy, be quiet! Nami's trying to trick them into thinking it was an accident! Don't blow it, okay?!"
"Alright!" Luffy complains quietly.
"Gentleman." Pagaya called them, approaching next to Nami. "As important as your investigation is, perhaps it would be best to get the Captain to a doctor first. Just a thought."
"OH! RIGHT! THE CAPTAIN!"
It got the White Berets realizing he was right and it got them panicked.
"There's no need to panic, let's take him to my house." Pagaya suggests as the White Berets recomposed themselves.
"We'll get right on that! Heso!"
And with that, the White Berets places their Captain on the stretcher, crawling their way to the house with Pagaya following them. But they're not letting the Straw Hats off with a warning.
"Consider yourselves under preliminary arrest! Don't go anywhere, got it?!"
"Why are they crawling again? Can't they just carry him like normal people?" Sanji asks in confusion.
"You guys saved my life. So, I know you're not as bad as they claim you are." Conis said, but turns to them with a warning. "So, take this chance and get out of here!"
And with that, Conis rushed out to catch up with her father and the White Berets to help them give McKinley a treatment. Usopp tried to stop, but Conis was already a far off distance.
"I think we better take her advice." Nami suggests.
"What do you mean?" Ventus inquires when Nami turns to her crew.
"When I was on the waver, I saw it for myself, an island filled with monsters!" Nami told them, making Usopp and Chopper flinched.
"Great, so you did exactly what everyone was hoping you wouldn't do." Zoro said with his arms crossed, knew that they're in trouble.
"I guess letting you go about the sacred ground went all up in smoke." Leon adds with a sigh.
"You mean the place we were told to never ever set foot on? Then there's monsters" Luffy asks with his face sparkled in excitement, but the two cowards grab hold of him.
"Don't give him any ideas!?" Usopp warned her.
"It's nothing to get excited about, Luffy! The last thing we need is to get involved with this!" Nami told him seriously. "Regardless, we're leaving! Now let's go!"
"You heard her, we better get moving." Ventus told them. "Cause if we stay here any longer, Pagaya and Conis will be in just as much trouble as we already are."
"Ventus' right." Caius agrees. "Those White Berets will think they're out accomplices. At the very least, it'll lessen the punishment they will give those two if we leave without their help."
"That's true, but how can they'll be helping us when they're with that Captain." Usopp said. "Okay, that's the plan! Let's go!"
While Conis, Pagaya, and the White Berets are busy given McKinley treatment, the Straw Hats are about to get ready to leave the island, but Luffy stays which Nami was trying to come to his senses and convince him to join them.
"Luffy, what are you doing?" Nami demands.
"Why are we running away?" Luffy asked.
"Because we're in trouble!" Nami answered.
"So what? We're always in trouble." Luffy points out which he's mostly responsible for the cause.
"It's not about just us anymore! If we don't leave, Conis and Pagaya could get arrested too!" Nami protests.
"They haven't done anything." Luffy said stubbornly, but made a valid point. "Whoever arrests them is an idiot."
"I know that." Nami said.
"He's not budging, is he?" Leon asks.
"I should've dragged his ass on board when I had the chance." Ventus muttered.
"Remind me why are we ending up in this crew again?" Caius asks.
"That's question I've been asking myself all day." Ventus said with a sigh while Leon agrees.
At the balcony, Conis was hoping for the Straw Hats to leave the island, but snapped out of her thoughts when McKinley grabs her wrist as she turns with a gasp.
"The poor Blue Sea dwellers will never escape!" McKinley said with a sinister smirk as he laughs.
While back at the sea...
"Can't you two argue on a boat?! C'mon!" Usopp shouts.
"How many times do I have to tell you? Staying here equals more trouble for everybody!" Nami shouts while tried to convince him to join her crew and leave.
"We're in trouble no matter what." Luffy told her, turns when Nami gasp as she turns and saw Conis held captive by the White Berets.
"Save yourselves!" Conis pleads. "Please go!"
"Ugh, just great." Nami groans with a scowl.
"He just had to jinx it, does he?" Leon rhetorically asks in annoyance.
"Be careful, Ms., if you saying anything to defend these criminals, I will consider you and your father accomplices." McKinley warns her. "These people must be punished to the full extend of the law. For all the abuse of language and deplorable violence! I find them guilty a 5th degree crimes! In the name of almighty Eneru, you are banished to the drifting clouds for eternity!"
It got Conis worried since the Straw Hats won't be able to leave.
"I told you it was an accident!" Nami protests, but groans since it's no use tried to reason with them. "Forget it!"
"Arrest them!" McKinley ordered.
"Whorl Of Death" Caius then use his dark magic to unleash the seal from beneath their feet, making the White Berets confuse as the seal fires dark orbs at them, sending them flying and crashed into the ground.
"I'm afraid this goes on long enough." Caius said, tipping his hat. "It's high time we leave."
"But we still need to know how much we've got in this situation." Zoro told him as Nami went inside of the ship to check for how much they've got left.
"We're only 50 thousand berries left." Nami said.
"50 thousand? We're that broke?" Zoro asks.
"Normally, that it last us a day or two at most." Nami told him.
"What's the deal? Why are we so poor?" Luffy questions.
"Because you're the only one with that gluttonous stomach of yours and it got us broke in the first place by buying food, you moron!" Ventus shouts in annoyance, beating Luffy silly.
"And you should lead by example!" Sanji adds, joins Ventus for beating his Captain.
"Heh, in any case, the fighting formation B I taught him to use was a successful, there's that." Usopp lied with his arms crossed.
"Really?!" Chopper exclaims in shock, turned to Usopp.
"That young man defeated the White Berets." Pagaya said, stunned.
"Unbelievable!" Conis adds. "At this altitude, he shouldn't be using magic at all!"
Though, McKinley stood up in a bloody mess as he laughed with a smirk which it got their attention.
'Those poor deluded fools!' McKinley mentally thought. "Sorry, criminals! You have no chance of escape! You should've behave and done what I told you to do! Of all the upholders of law here in Skypiea, we White Berets are the most lenient! However, they are not nearly as forgiving! Congratulations, you are now considered 2nd degree criminals! You can cry for mercy, but you all be judged! By the Priests of the Upper Yard! Heso!"
And with that, the Straw Hats are now in very deep trouble.
That's it for the 25th chapter.
