Alex(humming): Pokemon! Oh you're my best friend
Ash: Yeah
Me: Then let's start. Brock could you announce the chapter's name?
Alex(humming): Pokemon!
Brock: Chapter 9-Journey Aboard the SS Anne
The Pokegang have returned from their trip to Diglett's Cave
"I can't believe I didn't catch a single Diglett..." Ash hunches over depressed
"It's not all bad Ash. Atleast Brock caught something." Misty says
Brock examines his pokeball,"I have to get to work on creating food for Dugtrio. I wonder if the different heads like different kinds of taste?"
"Are you gonna give them all separate names or just call them Head One, Two and Three?" Alex asks
"I haven't thought about it actually. How do you refer to a Pokemon with three heads?" Brock asks genuinely curious
"This is getting too deep, let's focus on something else." Misty says
"Yeah like where we're heading next." Ash adds in
"Well according to the map the nearest gym is in Saffron City." Brock says
"So we're heading for Saffron." Alex says
"Congratulations!" Two girls suddenly yell at them and start tossing ribbons and confetti, "You guys are way lucky! You get to go on a super deluxe sea cruise! Haha!"
"Are they talking to us?" Alex asks confused
"Well like yeah ofcourse. You see we like have these totally cool tickets for you." The one girl with really long hair says
"Cooool." The other girl says
"These are tickets for the coolest party ever onboard the SS Anne cruiseliner." The long haired girl says
"As in the famous SS Anne?" Ash asks
"The coolest ship on the sea." The long haired girl says
"Cooool"
"Everyone's gonna be together and have the coolest party."
"Coool"
"And the party's for Pokemon trainers only."
"Coool"
"Step this way. It will be a totally radical party and only the most radical trainers will be there."
"Coool"
"Do you know anyone who still says radical?" Ash asks Misty who shakes her head
(Man this sounds so radical.) Alex thinks excitedly
"Ok dudes and dudette here's your tickets." The long haired girl says
"We'd love to go on the cruise but we don't have the money to pay for it." Brock says
"Oh you like totally don't understand. These tickets are like completely free." The long haired girl says
"Coool."
"Why are you giving away free tickets?" Misty asks before Alex covers her mouth
"Why are you looking a gift Ponyta in the mouth?" Alex asks
"Well like you see we have to go on a date with our boyfriends so we wanted to give our tickets to cool Pokemon trainers." The long haired girl says
"Coool"
"And then we saw you and it was like totally fate ya know. So like take them and have a totally cool time."
"Coool"
They hand the tickets to Ash before running off
"Bye!" They yell
"Talk about lucky!" Ash shouts excitedly
"We get to go on a cruise!" Misty shouts excitedly
Brock examines the tickets, "It looks like this is stopping at Porta Vista. We can get to Saffron from there."
"It has to be fate." Alex says
Jessie and James change out of their disguises
"We totally tricked them." Jessie says
"Didn't I make like the coolest girl?" James asks before Jessie hits him
"Ok enough with the valley girl shtick. We have to report in." Jessie says
"Oww"
The two approach the hiding spot where Meowth is waiting
"Good you're here. 'The boss' is waiting." Meowth say and the three head inside. Andrew is waiting
"Have you handed out all the tickets?" He asks
"Yes sir. Every single ticket was handed out." Jessie replies
"Good. Then we can proceed." Andrew says
"Uh sir if I may. Why did we hand out all those expensive tickets for free?" James asks
"Not nearly enough Pokemon trainers would be able to afford those tickets. While we could make some money if we sold the tickets our priority is the Pokemon." Andrew says
"Understood sir." Jessie says
"Now I am putting you three in charge of this operation. I do not tolerate failure." Andrew says
"We will not disappoint sir." Meowth says
"Then you are dismissed." Andrew says and the Trio leave
"I hate him so much." Jessie says
"At least he was polite this time." James says
"Why da boss trusts him more than us I'll never understand." Meowth says annoyed
"This is our chance to prove that we're top agents. We mustn't screw this mission up." Jessie says
"Wow look at this!" Ash shouts excitedly
The group have boarded the SS Anne. The entire ship is full of Pokemon trainers
"I don't think I've ever seen this many trainers in one place." Brock says
"Look they even have stalls set up." Misty says
"This is like those conventions you see on TV." Alex says
They notice two trainers comparing their Charmander
"Take a look at the smooth skin on my Charmander. That shows how healthy it is." One trainer says
"Take a look at the flame on my Charmander. There's orange mixed in with red. Cool huh?" The other trainers says
"Our Charmander are much better right Alex." Ash asks only to get no reply. He looks around and notices Alex has vanished
"Where did he go?"
"I don't know." Brock replies
Alex is walking past the stalls. He has his Eevee riding on his head
"Look Eevee there's evolution stones on sale." Alex says and heads over to the stones.
Eevee(Oh good I can finally evolve)
"You want me to get you one? Which one do you want?" Alex asks
Eevee(Oh you know)
"One Thunder Stone please." Alex says only for Eevee to slap him, "Ow! What was that for?"
Eevee! Eevee! Eevee!(I don't want to be a Jolteon! I want to be elegant and beautiful)
"A Water Stone?"
Eevee nods
"I'll talk one Water Stone please." Alex says
"30 Poke Dollars." The saleswoman says
Alex hands over the money and gets his Water Stone. Eevee hops off his head and he hands the stone to her. She starts glowing and evolves into Vaporeon
Vaporeon!
Vaporeon the Bubble Jet Pokemon. A Water type. Its cell composition is similar to water molecules. As a result, it can melt away into water. Vaporeon is the evolved form of Eevee. This Vaporeon is Female
Ash,Misty,Brock,Pikachu and Oddish are looking at all the food
Oddish! Oddish!
"I'm excited too Oddish." Misty says
"So where should we start?" Brock asks
"I'm gonna get one of everything!" Ash shouts excitedly
"Raticate use Jump Kick!" They hear someone yelling. They turn towards the voice and see that a crowd has gathered around a makeshift battlefield
"Ooh Pokemon battles!" Ash runs towards them
A Gentleman and his Raticate are battling a kid and his Starmie. Ash pulls out his Pokedex and scans Raticate
Raticate the Mouse Pokemon. A Normal type. Gnaws on anything with its tough fangs. It can even topple concrete buildings by gnawing on them. Raticate is the evolved form of Rattata. This Raticate is Female
"Raticate use Super Fang!" The Gentleman yells
Raticate's teeth start glowing gold and grow longer. She leaps forward and bites Starmie so hard that the gem in it's centre shatters. Starmie collapses to the ground and a sign above the Gentleman starts flashing indicating that he won. The young boy hugs Starmie
"Are you ok Starmie?" He asks sadly
"Don't feel too badly young man it was only a practice round, and I just happened to be lucky." The Gentleman says
A fancy dressed woman steps out of the crowd and places her hands on the Gentleman's shoulder
"Why how gracious." She says. Brock's face goes red as he stares at her
"Not at all miss. Keep building your Starmie's strength." He says towards the kid, "Well then is anyone else brave enough to challenge my Raticate?"
"I can't wait!" Ash shouts and rushes onto the battlefield, "How about you battle my Butterfree?"
"As you wish." The Gentleman says
Team Rocket are watching nearby. They are disguised as waiters
"Look at all these Pokemon." Jessie says
"And soon all of them will be ours. All for us." James says daydreaming
"They're not for us they're for the boss." Jessie replies
"I forgot."
"I choose Butterfree!" Ash tosses his pokeball and Butterfree appears
Free Free
"Raticate use Jump Kick!" The Genteman yells and Raticate leaps into the air and extends it's foot
"Wow Raticate can't usually learn Jump Kick. That's impressive." Brock says
"Butterfree fly out the way!" Ash yells
Butterfree flies to the side dodging Raticate's attack. Raticate lands on the ground and winces in pain
"Now's our chance! Use Stun Spore!" Ash yells
Butterfree releases the Stun Spore over Raticate
"Raticate Super Fang!" The Gentleman yells. Raticate tries to move but can't
Raticate!
"Butterfree use Gust!" Ash yells
Butterfree starts flapping it's wings blowing Raticate back
"Raticate Jump Kick!" The Gentleman yells
Raticate is suddenly surrounded by a crimson aura and it's eyes start glowing
"What's happening?" Ash asks confused
Raticate leaps into the air and kicks Butterfree driving the Pokemon to the ground
"Aah Butterfree!" Ash yells
"My Raticate's ability Guts activated." The Gentleman says, "Now Raticate finish it off with Hyper Fang!"
Raticate's teeth start shining and it prepares to bite down on Butterfree when it suddenly flinches
"Quick Butterfree use String Shot to get away!" Ash yells
Butterfree shoots a string out of it's mouth towards the ceiling and pulls itself up
"Raticate are you alright?" The gentleman asks and Raticate shakes off it's paralysis
"Butterfree use Psybeam!" Ash yells
"Raticate look out!" The Gentleman yells
Butterfree fires a beam of psychic energy hitting Raticate head on
Raticate!
Raticate faints and the sign above Ash's head starts flashing
"Alright we did it!" Ash cheers
Freee!
The Gentleman returns Raticate and heads over to Ash. He offers him his hand
"Congratulations young man on training such a powerful Pokemon." The Gentleman says
Ash shakes his hand, "Thank you. Your Raticate was pretty good too."
James is walking near the stands
"Boy, boy, hey you boy come here" He hears a salesman. James looks over at a man standing behind a fish tank
"Are you addressing me?" James asks
"I want you to have a look at this Pokemon" Salesman says
James takes a look in the fish tank and sees a Magikarp
"That is the king of all karp, a Magikarp" Salesman says
"What do I do? Eat it?" James asks
The Salesman takes the Magikarp out of the tank
"See how healthy it is" He says and hands James the Magikarp
The Magikarp uses Splash in his arms
"It certainly is lively" James says
"Just between you and me" Salesman whispers, "This Magikarp is like a Pokemon goldmine"
"Goldmine?" James asks
"Right, a Magikarp lays 1000 eggs at a time, each of those 1000 baby Magikarps lay another 1000, 1000 times 1000 is 1000000,each one of those 1000000 lays another 1000,that's a billion Pokemon" Salesman says
"A billion?" James asks shocked
"Yes,you can sell one Magikarp for 1 000 Poke Dollars, in three generations that billions and billions of money" the Magikarp Salesman says
"Billions!" James shouts excitedly
"You'll be so rich you can go on a Pokemon shopping spree" Salesman says
"Rich! Rich!" James shouts excitedly
"I usually charge 100 Poke Dollars, but for you I'll throw in a egg laying set, a child care set and an education set for 300 Poke Dollars" Salesman says really fast
"I'll take it!" James shouts excitedly
"I can tell you're going to be a rich man. A very rich man." The Salesman grins
Ash,Misty,Brock,Pikachu and Oddish are busy stuffing their faces. The Gentleman and his lady friend approach them
"So are you having a good time?" He asks
"Yes sir." Ash replies
"I just wanted to once again bring up just how amazing your Butterfree was." The Gentleman says
"It's incredible." The Lady says. Brock stares at her lovestruck
"She's beautiful." He mumbles. Misty sighs annoyed
"Here we go again."
"I'm going to be direct. I would like to trade my Raticate for your Butterfree." The Gentleman says
"You want to trade Pokemon?" Ash asks confused
"Yes when two people find they like each other's Pokemon they trade. It's quite a common practice everywhere." The Gentleman says
"Everywhere?" Ash asks
"You see friends who trade then trade with their other friends and then friendships grow deeper and continue to spread wider and wider. Trading and making new friends is one of the best things about having Pokemon. That's how Pokemon friendships get to spread all around the world." The Gentleman says
"Wow." Ash replies stunned
"Friendship is wonderful isn't?" The Lady asks
"Yes yes. Why don't you and I start a friendship right now?" Brock asks still in lovestruck mode
"Should I trade Brock?" Ash asks uncertain
"Yes you gotta trade everyone gotta trade let's start trading." Brock replies
"Ok if you're certain." Ash replies still unsure
The Gentleman has led them over to a trading machine. Ash hesitantly places Butterfree's pokeball into the machine. The Gentleman presses a button and the two pokeballs are sucked up into a tube. The screen shows a silhouette of Butterfree and Raticate swapping places before spitting the pokeballs back out.
"Well that's all there is to it. Raticate is your new Pokemon." The Gentleman says. Ash picks up the pokeball and stares at it. The Gentleman picks up his pokeball and walks away
"Hey Ash are you ok?" Misty asks
"Yeah I guess. I'm just gonna miss Butterfree." Ash replies
He glances back down at the pokeball, "Come on out Raticate."
Raticate!
Alex heads over to them, "Hello friends."
"Where have you been?" Misty asks
"Oh just showing off my new Pokemon." Alex replies
"New Pokemon? What are you talking about?" Misty asks
"Oh you're gonna be so jealous. Come on out!" Alex tosses his pokeball
Vaporeon!
"You got a Vaporeon!" Misty shouts shocked
"Yep say hello to the newest member of Team Alex." Alex replies smirking. Misty falls to her knees in despair
"It's not fair. I'm the Water Pokemon trainer." Misty moans
Ash wanders off with Raticate and Pikachu following him
"What's up with Ash?" Alex asks
"He traded Butterfree for Raticate." Brock replies
"He did? That doesn't really sound like him." Alex says confused
They look over at Ash worried
"You moron! Can't you see that you were tricked?" Jessie yells
"What a dope!" Meowth yells
"But you guys don't understand. Magikarp is a goldmine. Even it's pokeball is solid gold." James shows them the golden pokeball
"It's just gold-painted!" Meowth yells and swipes at the pokebal
He scratches off some of the paint revealing a normal coloured pokeball underneath. James screams in shock and falls to his knees depressed
"Magikarp is a worthless Pokemon that can't do anything but flop around. How could you honestly expect to sell it?" Jessie asks angrily
"I was tricked!" James cries
"How did you get the money for it?" Jessie asks accusingly
"Well the advance on my salary didn't quite cover it so I...I used the advance on your salary."
Jessie punches him
"You go return that fish and get my money back right now!"
Ash is staring out at the ocean. Raticate is next to him
"I guess we need to start bonding huh Raticate? What do you like to do for fun?" Ash asks
Raticate
Ash sighs
Misty joins him
"What's wrong Ash?" Misty asks
"I guess I'm still thinking about Butterfree." Ash admits, "I don't know if that man is gonna take good care of him."
"I'm sure Butterfree will be fine. I mean look at Raticate, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it." Misty says
Ash returns Raticate
"I guess, but still, I only agreed to trade because that guy seemed to like trading so much, I'm not certain I really wanted to."
"If you really miss Butterfree so much you can ask if you can trade back." Misty says
"I'd rather not disappoint that man." Ash says
"Come on let's go back inside. Maybe eating something will cheer you back up." Misty says and they head back to the main room where everyone is gathered.
"Excuse me everyone this is your captain speaking!" The intercom blares, "We are about halfway to Porta Vista."
Jessie and Meowth look up
"It's time. Give the signal." Jessie says
"Roger!" Meowth presses a button
The doors to the room suddenly slam shut and all the curtains close
"What's going on?" A trainer asks confused
James wanders around the stalls depressed. The Magikarp Salesman is gone
"Where are you? I want my money back." James says depressed when Jessie suddenly grabs him
The lights go out
"This can't be good." Alex says
A spotlight appears on a stage revealing Jessie and James dressed in their Team Rocket uniforms as well as having vacuum machines strapped to their backs. James is hunched over depressed
Jessie: Prepare for trouble!
James(depressed): make it double
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
James(depressed): to unite all peoples within our nation
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James(depressed): to extend our reach to the stars above
Jessie: Jessie!
James sighs
James(depressed): james
Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James(depressed): surrender now, or prepare to fight
Meowth hops onto the stage
Meowth: Meowth! That's Right!
The lights turn on revealing that Team Rocket Grunts have surrounded the trainers. They all have the same vacuum machines strapped to their backs
"Team Rocket will now take possession of all your Pokemon!" Jessie yells
The Grunts turn on their vacuums and start sucking up pokeballs
"My Pokemon!" A trainer yells
"Quick guys call out your Pokemon!" Alex yells at his friends before tossing his pokeballs, "Charmander Vaporeon Beedrill Paras Hypno go!"
"I call Staryu Starmie and Oddish!" Misty yells
"Go Geodude and Zubat!" Brock yells
"Pidgeotto Sandslash Bulbasaur Charmander Squirtle Krabby Butterfree I choose you!" Ash yells and tosses his pokeballs
Pidgeo! Sandslash! Bulbasaur! Charmander! Squirtle! Coo-ki
Raticate!
"Huh?" Ash looks at Raticate confused
"You traded Butterfree remember." Misty reminds him
"Oh right..." Ash remembers sadly
Other trainers have followed their lead and started calling out their Pokemon
"They want a battle? Then let's give it to them!" Jessie yells
The grunts start throwing their own pokeballs and calling out all their Pokemon. Soon the entire room is full of Pokemon
"Get them!" One of the Grunts yells and Tean Rocket's Pokemon attack. The trainers' Pokemon fight back
"We will not let them steal our Pokemon! Butterfree use Sleep Powder!" The Gentleman yells and his Butterfree flies over a couple Rattata putting them to sleep
"Butterfree..." Ash stares up at Butterfree sadly
"Hand over your pokemon before I hurt you kid!" A Grunt yells at Ash
"Raticate use Hyper Fang!" Ash yells
Raticate's teeth shine and it leaps towards the Grunt
"Machop Brick Break!" The Grunt yells
Machop dodges Raticate's attack, it's hand glows white and then it Karate Chops the Pokemon
Raticate!
Raticate faints
"Raticate no!" Ash yells
"I won't ask again." The Grunt says
Pidgeo!
Pidgeotto suddenly swoops down, it's wings glowing white, and slams into Machop
Machop!
Machop is knocked into the Grunt
"Aaah!" The Grunt yells
"Nice work Pidgeotto! Now use Whirlwind!" Ash yells
Pidgeotto starts flapping it's wings causing a small tornado to form. It sucks up the Grunt and Machop and starts moving through the ship
"Pidgeotto use Whirlwind!" Another trainer yells and that Pidgeotto makes Ash's Whirlwind stronger. A bunch of other Pidgeotto join in until there's a giant tornado sucking up a bunch of Team Rocket Grunts and Pokemon
"Charmander Flamethrower!" Alex yells
A bunch of Charmander fire their Flamethrower creating a massive one that hits a bunch of Grunts
"Starmie Water Gun!" Misty yells
A bunch of Starmie join in and they fire a Massive Water Gun
"Geodude Fling!" Brock yells
A bunch of Geodude just start picking up Grunts and flinging them at other Grunts
"We need to get out of here!" Meowth yells and him,Jessie and James start sneaking away
"Andrew's not gonna be happy when he hears about this." Jessie says
All the Team Rocket Grunts have been taken care of. The stolen Pokemon have been returned
"We did it!" Misty says happily
"I didn't think we could pull it off." Alex admits
"We should all be proud of our Pokemon." Brock says
The ship suddenly starts shaking
"What was that?" A trainer asks
"That can't be good." Another trainer says
The ship rocks to the side violently. James is knocked to the floor and his golden pokeball starts rolling away
"Wait there goes my money!" James gets to his feet and starts chasing after the pokeball. Jessie and Meowth chase after him
"There goes my money too!" Jessie yells
"All that Pokemon battling must have damaged the ship." Misty says before returning Oddish for safety. Brock looks out the window
"There's a big storm too. We need to get off this ship." Brock says
"Guys Ash and Pikachu are gone!" Alex shouts worried
Ash,Pikachu and The Gentleman are back at the trading machine
"So you want to go back on our trade?" The Gentleman asks
"I'm sorry but Butterfree was the first Pokemon I ever caught and I worked hard training and raising him. I shouldn't have traded him away. Please could I have him back?" Ash asks
"Then I have no choice." The Gentleman places Butterfree's pokeball back onto the machine. Ash places Raticate's pokeball on as well and they trade their Pokemon back
"It's done." The Gentleman takes his pokeball and leaves. Ash picks up Butterfree's pokeball and hugs it
"I'm sorry Butterfree. I'll never trade you again." Ash says
Alex,Misty and Brock rush into the room
"Are you crazy Ash? We need to get to the lifeboats now." Alex says
"I'm sorry but I couldn't leave without Butterfree." Ash replies
A bunch of trainers have confronted the captain
"There's nothing to worry about. The SS Anne is unsinkable." The captain says before climbing into a lifeboat
"What are you doing?" A trainer asks
"Oh nothing. I'm just testing one of the lifeboats." The captain replies
The trainers all start panicking and piling into the lifeboats
Ash,Alex,Misty,Brock and Pikachu are running towards the lifeboats when the ship rocks again. Butterfree's pokeball is knocked out of Ash's hand and sent rolling back the way they came
"Butterfree!" Ash yells and chases after it
"Ash wait!" Misty yells and everyone chases after him
James and Jessie rush into the kitchen chasing after the pokeball. Meowth chases after them
"Forget the stupid pokeball! We gotta get out of here!" Meowth yells
Ash manages to grab Butterfree's pokeball
"Got it!" He yells
James grabs Magikarp's pokeball
"Got it!"
The ship rocks again and Team Rocket are suddenly flung across the room. The same thing happens to The Pokegang
"Aaah!"
They are all knocked unconscious
Everyone else has managed to make it onto the lifeboats. They watch as The SS Anne sinks
"May I have everyone's attention!" The Captain yells, "If anyone didn't make it off of the ship safely please say Aye!"
No reply
"Good everyone's safe then."
A rescue ship is at the last known location of the SS Anne. Officer Jenny, Lt Surge and a bunch of police officers are onboard. Officer Jenny is holding flowers
"At first we thought that all the passengers had gotten safely off the ship, but we have just discovered that six people are missing. Alex,Ash,Brock,James,Jessie and Misty. It makes all of us sad to think that these young Pokemon trainers have had their promising careers cut tragically short. May these flowers honour your memory." Officer Jenny says sadly before tossing the flowers overboard.
Lt. Surge shakes his head, "It's a damn shame." He says softly.
A trumpet starts playing and everyone salutes as the flowers sink
"Hey Ash wake up." Ash hears voices and he slowly opens his eyes. He notices that Alex,Misty and Brock are staring at him. However they're all upside down
"Hey why are you guys standing on the ceiling?" Ash asks groggily
"Um Ash you may want to look again." Alex says
Ash looks up and realizes that he's the one upside, he's currently hanging by his pants to the edge of a table
"Aaah!" He squirms and unhooks himself. He falls and lands on Pikachu
Chu...
"Sorry Pikachu." Ash says and gets to his feet. He looks around confused, "What happened?"
"We capsized." Brock says
"What?" Ash shouts shocked and looks out the window. He sees lots of Water Pokemon swimming around
"It gets worse." Alex adds, "We're barely perched on a seamount, if the ship moves too much we're gonna plummet into the trench."
"We're doomed!" Ash shouts and falls to his knees
"Get ahold of yourself Ash." Misty says worried, "We can't panic we need to work on getting out of here."
Ash hops back to his feet determined, "There has to be a way right."
"Well we can't do anything here. We're gonna have to head further in the ship." Misty says
Jessie and James scream as they awaken. They were lying beneath a lit stove
"Put it out! Put it out!"
Meowth tosses water over them
"Thank you Meowth." James says
"What happened? Where are we?" Jessie asks
"At the bottom of the ocean." Meowth says
"What?" They both rush out of the kitchen into the hallway
"This is bad! What are we gonna do!" James asks panicking. Jessie grabs him
"Calm down James! I know how we can get out of here." Jessie says
"What do you mean Jessie?" James asks
Jessie enlarges a pokeball, "I'll just have Ekans make a hole in the floor for us to escape."
"Wait don't-" Meowth starts saying
"Ekans use Acid!" Jessie tosses her pokeball and Ekans pops out
Ekanssss
It spits acid onto the floor eating through it and creating a hole...which predictably causes the room to start filling with water
"You numbskulls! We're underwater remember!" Meowth yells as they are swept away
The Pokegang reach the stairwell. However everything below them is underwater
"How are we supposed to find the entrance when it's underwater?" Ash asks
"I know. I'll send Goldeen out and it can scout ahead." Misty says before grabbing her pokeball, "Go my steady!"
Goldeen!
Goldeen dives under the water. It starts swimming through the passageways trying to find a way out of the ship. It comes across the unconscious bodies of James,Jessie,Meowth and Ekans
Goldeen!
"What's taking Goldeen so long?" Ash asks worried
"Maybe it couldn't find a way out." Misty says
They notice something coming up to the surface. Team Rocket are suddenly pushed out of the water
"Aaaah!" The Pokegang scream
"Prepare...Prepare for trouble..." Jessie mumbles
"Make...Make...that double..." James mumbles
"It's Team Rocket." Ash says surprised. Jessie and James come to their senses and hop to their feet
"We've got you twerps cornered!" Jessie says
James tosses a pokeball and Koffing comes out
Koffing!
Ekans and Meowth hop up ready to fight
"So you followed us all the way to the sea!" Brock tosses a pokeball and Geodude pops out
Geodude!
Ash tosses a pokeball as well and Squirtle pops out
Squirtle!
Pikachu gets ready to fight
The ship suddenly starts tilting to one side
"Aaah!" Everyone screams as they're tossed sideways
"We need to rebalance the ship!" Misty yells, "All the Pokemon head to the other side!"
"You heard her!" Meowth yells and him,Pikachu,Squirtle,Geodude,Ekans and Koffing rush over to the other side. The ship is balanced again but it's still not stable.
"Call back your Pokemon before we all die!" Misty yells
Ash,Brock,James and Jessie return their Pokemon. Pikachu and Meowth cautiously head back over to them. Everyone takes a few deep breathes
"Phew. Now that that is resolved I think we should work together." Misty says only to notice Ash,Brock,Pikachu,Jessie,James and Meowth glaring at each other. Alex is just leaning against a wall playing with his baseball bat
"I don't think they want to work together." Alex says
"Come on now!" Misty yells angrily, "This isn't the time for that! I want you all to shake hands!"
Ash and Jessie hesitantly shake each other's hands
"This is only temporary." Jessie says
"You're right about that." Ash says
James and Brock do the same thing. Pikachu looks away from Meowth but offers him his hand. When Meowth touches it though Pikachu Thundershocks him
Pika!
"Pikachu!" Misty says annoyed
Chu...
Misty looks over at Alex
"Hey I have no problem working with them." Alex says
"Good. Then we need to work on a plan to get out of this mess. Luckily for us I built a model of the SS Anne so I know the structure of the ship." Misty says
"That's great Misty" Ash says
"Since the ship is upside down we obviously can't go to the deck, so we have to climb up to the bottom. There we can cut a hole in the hull and escape from there." Misty says
"We already tried creating a hole. The room just filled with water." Jessie says
"That's why we're heading up. We'll be closer to the surface. Our Water Pokemon will then pull us out." Misty says
"Water Pokemon? But we don't have Water Pokemon!" Meowth shouts. James suddenly starts laughing like a madman
"James' what's up with you?" Jessie asks confused
"He's lost it." Meowth says
"You thought this was a waste of money! But who's laughing now!" James pulls out his golden pokeball
"Magikarp!" Meowth and Jessie yell out in relief
"Yes behold the King of all Karp, and our salvation!" James boasts. Jessie and Meowth drop to their knees
"We're not worthy."
"They're weird." Ash says
"They're kinda growing on me." Alex says
"Alright come on we have to worry. The ship's not gonna stay like this forever." Brock says
They start heading up the stairs
The group are walking down a hallway. The lights to the ship have started going out.
"This way leads to the engine room. The hull is the thinnest there." Misty says
They head through a door only to see that there is a large gap separating them from the other side. A huge fire is raging below them
"What are we gonna do now?" Meowth asks panicked
"Bulbasaur can help us across." Ash says and tosses his pokeball
Bulbasaur!
"Bulbasaur I want you to extend your Vines to the other side." Ash says
Bulbasaur nods and uses Vine Whip. He creates a makeshift bridge for them to cross
"Alright everyone take it slow." Brock says and the Pokegang slowly start heading across the vines.
James looks at the vines terrified, he glances below them at the fire
"I can't cross that inferno! Jessie and Meowth you go ahead I'm staying here!" James screams hysterically
Jessie slaps him
"Snap out of it!" She yells, "How long do you think you'll last on this side?"
She takes his hands, "Now come on. We'll cross together."
James hugs her, "Please don't abandon me."
"Don't worry I won't leave you." Jessie says
"This is touching and everything but we should hurry." Meowth interrupts
Everyone has made to the engine room safe and sound and have called out their Water Pokemon. Ash and Pikachu have tied a rope to Squirtle, Alex has tied a rope to Vaporeon, Misty has tied a rope to Goldeen, Brock has tied a rope to Starmie, and Team Rocket have tied a rope to Magikarp who just splashes on the ground uselessly
Magikarp Magikarp
"I'm tempted to scan it." Ash says
"Later." Alex says
"Alright Ash, Alex, Use your Charmander to burn a hole into the ship." Misty says
"Right. Charmander go!" They yell and both their Charmander appear. They fire Flamethrower above them creating a hole and causing water to come in
Charmander!
They quickly return the Charmander
"Alright let's go!" Misty yells and they start swimming. Magikarp however does not move
"Magikarp follow!" James yells
Magikarp keeps splashing around uselessly
"Don't tell me this Water Pokemon doesn't know how to swim!" Jessie yells in despair
"We're doomed!" Meowth yells
They're carried away by the water and the ship finally falls into the trench
The Pokegang are floating on a makeshift raft.
"Team Rocket hasn't surfaced yet." Ash says worried
"I guess they couldn't get out in time." Alex says sadly
"There's nothing we can do now." Brock says, "Other than try to find dry land."
"I have an idea. Go Pidgeotto!" Ash tosses his pokeball and Pidgeotto pops out
Pidgeo!
"Pidgeotto go see if you can find any land." Ash says. Pidgeotto nods and flies off
As it's flying it notices something splashing in the water down below. It flies closer and finds Magikarp and the once again unconscious Team Rocket. It grabs the rope and starts dragging them towards the raft
Team Rocket and Magikarp have been placed on the raft
"Not even Team Rocket deserved this." Ash says sadly
"I guess there's nothing else we can do but give them a traditional burial at sea." Brock says
"Hang on are you sure about that?" Alex asks
"What do you mean?" Ash asks
"I'm just saying we're trapped out in the middle of the ocean, we have no clue when we'll find land, and we have no food. Maybe we should keep them."
Everyone stares at him horrified
"It was just a suggestion."
Ash,Misty and Brock start pushing Team Rocket off the raft when Jessie and James suddenly leap to their feet
"Zombies!" The Pokegang scream
"Who are you calling zombies?" Jessie asks offended
"We are not zombies!" James shouts offended
Meowth splashes around in the water
"Help my fur's getting wet!"
Pikachu watches amused. Alex heads over and helps Meowth onto the raft. Pikachu scowls and snaps his fingers angrily
Everyone sits down to just relax for a bit. Ash looks over at Magikarp and pulls out his Pokedex
"Seriously Ash?" Misty asks
"It's bothering me!"
James starts cleaning water out of his ears
Magikarp the Fish Pokemon. A Water type. Magikarp is a pathetic excuse for a Pokémon that is only capable of flopping and splashing. This behavior prompted scientists to undertake research into it. Magikarp evolves into Gyarados. This Magikarp is Male
"Gyarados!" Misty,Brock,Jessie and Meowth shout shocked
"Wow. Maybe it's not worthless afterall." Jessie says
"It was never worthless. Look how adorable it is." Alex says
Magikarp Magikarp
James finishes cleaning the water out of his ears and stands up angrily
"I've had it! You good for nothing fish! I don't want to be your master anymore!" James yells and moves to kick Magikarp
"James no!" Jessie and Meowth yell but it's too late. James kicks Magikarp and it goes flying through the air. Alex leaps after it, catches it and lands in the water
"Good riddance." James says
"Are you alright Magikarp?" Alex asks
Karp Karp
"That's not cool." He says to James
"James recall it. Magikarp is very useful." Meowth says
"Huh?" James asks confused
Magikarp suddenly starts glowing
"Oh no." Misty says terrified
Magikarp grows larger and transforms into Gyarados
Rarrrr!
"It's a Gyarados!" James shouts shocked. Misty screams in terror and dives into the water
"It doesn't look happy." Jessie says terrified
James points his pokeball at Gyarados
"I'm James your master. Obey me." James says
Gyarados responds by smacking Team Rocket with it's tail and sending them flying
"Aaah we're blasting off again!" They yell
Gyarados roars again
"It's not gonna eat us now right?" Ash asks scared
"Hey Gyarados we're good right? I'm the one who leapt in to catch you remember." Alex says
Gyarados bends down and lets Alex rub his head
"I think we're alright."
Misty peaks out from the water
"Is it safe?"
"Yeah it's fine." Alex says
Misty gets back onto the raft
"Hey I think James dropped this." She picks up the golden pokeball
"Toss that to me." Alex says and Misty tosses him the pokeball, "Gyarados do you want to come with me?"
Gyarados nods
"Alright I caught Gyarados!" Alex does Ash's pose
"Hey come on!" Ash yells annoyed
"Uh guys I hate to be a buzzkill but we're still lost in the middle of nowhere." Brock says
Pidgeo!
They hear wings flapping and turn to see Pidgeotto heading towards them
"It's Pidgeotto!"
Pidgeotto lands on the raft
"Did you find land Pidgeotto?" Ash asks
Pidgeotto nods
"Alright then let's get going!" Ash shouts excited
Alex climbs onto Gyarados' head and dramatically points ahead
"Onwards!"
"You better keep that thing away from me." Misty mutters under her breath as they start moving. Ash pulls out his Pokedex and scans Gyarados
Gyarados the Atrocious Pokemon. A Water/Flying type. Once Gyarados goes on a rampage, its ferociously violent blood doesn't calm until it has burned everything down. There are records of this Pokémon's rampages lasting a whole month. Gyarados is the evolved form of Magikarp. This Gyarados is Male
The group are at the Porta Vista Pokemon Centre.
"That sounds like a terrible experience." Nurse Joy says
Brock grabs her hand
"It was but being able to lay eyes upon you is the light at the end of the tunnel! For now we shall be together forever!"
Misty grabs Brock by his ear and starts dragging him away
"We should have left you in the SS Anne."
Alex is watching the TV. There's a news story about the trainers lost at sea
"Uh Ash we might want to call a couple of people."
