Me: Hello there, bet you never expected to see me again.
Alex: I'm certainly surprised
Me: I know it's been a couple years since I last posted anything, my life's been rather hectic and I've gone through a lot of crap but I'm doing better now. I won't harp on about it though cause you're not here to hear about my life story(will talk abit more at end of chapter). I'll just give a few ground rules for the story
The plan is to try and make this a series spanning the whole anime(don't worry Ash will age)
This story is ultimately about Ash and Alex so they will get the most focus
I do ship Ash and Misty so that is endgame. I hope non-Pokeshippers can still enjoy the series
I am willing to go dark if I feel it suits certain parts of the story. This is mainly a heads up if that's not your thing
There are a couple other things I'll discuss at the end of the chapter, I don't want this to drag on too long.
Me: Alright let's begin. Alex if you may
Alex: Chapter 1-The Journey Begins
Three friends are walking around the peaceful town of Pallet. These are ten year olds Alex Martin and Leaf Green as well as their nine year old friend Ash Ketchum.
"Man are you lucky Professor Oak postponed our starter choices until your birthday Ash," Alex says teasingly, "otherwise you would have had to wait another year until you could start your journey."
"I don't get why I had to wait until I turned ten," Ash says annoyed, "I've been wanting to become a Pokemon Master since I was little!"
"Apparently it's a maturity thing, ten year olds can be trusted to travel around the world capturing wild Pokemon." Leaf replies
"Yeah because there's definetely a big difference between a nine and ten year old," Alex says mockingly.
"You have an issue take it up with the Pokemon League." Leaf replies
"I can't wait for tomorrow to come!" Ash suddenly yells out, "Tell me what Pokemon are you guys planning on choosing?"
"Bulbasaur definitely," Leaf answers, "Grass Pokemon are the best!"
"You won't be saying that after my Charmander roasts your Bulbasaur." Alex replies
Leaf sticks her tongue out at him, then she looks at Ash.
"What about you Ash? Which Pokemon are you hoping to get?"
"I can't decide! They're all great!" Ash yells out excitedly.
"It's too bad Professor Oak doesn't have any Pikachus on hand, what with that being your favourite Pokemon and everything." Alex says.
"It's alright. I hear you can find some in Viridian Forest, I'm definetely going to catch one!"
They stop infront of Leaf's house. The sun is starting to set.
"Well I better go home and get ready for tomorrow, hopefully I'll see you guys before heading out." Leaf says before she heads inside. Ash and Alex continue walking. Ash looks up at Professor Oak's lab which is straight ahead.
"I forgot Gary is also getting his first Pokemon tomorrow," Ash mumbles annoyed.
Alex sighs, "Don't let him get to you Ash, Gary's a jerk, I know it, you know it, even his older sister knows it."
Ash laughs, "I wonder how Daisy's doing, she's in Kalos right?"
"Last time I heard yeah. Look my point is Gary is going to try and knock you down, just remember that no matter what he says, you are better than him."
Alex and Ash arrive at their houses which are right next to each other. Alex's house looks more run down and uncared for.
"See ya Ash." Alex says and prepares to head inside.
"You know you can stay with us right? You don't have to keep sleeping there." Ash says
"I know. Your mom constantly reminds me whenever she sees me, I appreciate the offer but...this is still home." Alex says sadly. He heads inside. Ash heads into his house.
Ash is watching a Pokemon match on Tv, Bruno and Agatha of the Elite Four are battling each other. Bruno's Nidorino has just been taken out by Agatha's Gengar.
"Come on Bruno you're not out yet."
Bruno pulls out an Ultra Ball and throws it. His Onix emerges from it and roars.
"Yeah! Let's go Bruno!" Ash yells excitedly. The door to his room suddenly opens and his mom enters
"Turn that off right now Ash Ketchum!," Ash complies, "You should be asleep." His mom lectures him
"I know, but I'm too excited to sleep," Ash replies.
"You can't stay up all night Ash or you're going to sleep in tomorrow and be late," his mother tells him.
"I know I'm sorry mom, you're right I'll get some rest," Ash replies
"Good, goodnight Ash." Delia turns the light off.
"Goodnight mom"
The door closes and Ash lays down to sleep. He closes his eyes.
(I can't wait for tomorrow! I still haven't decided which Pokemon I'm gonna pick! I know Leaf wants Bulbasaur and Alex is planning on picking Charmander but Professor Oak always says it's first come first serve. I can picture myself with either of them! Then again I could always pick Squirtle, I know that's the one Gary is planning on choosing and it will definetely upset him! Oh why can't tomorrow come sooner!)
Ash doses off and unintentionally knocks his alarm to the ground causing it to break.
Alex arrives at Oak's lab early in the morning. He arrives just as Leaf exits the building
"Oh hi Alex!" Leaf says happily, "I was worried I was gonna miss you."
"Hey Leaf, you already got your Pokemon?" Alex asks.
"Yep check it out. Come on out Bulbasaur!" Leaf throws her pokeball and a Bulbasaur pops out.
Bulbasaur!
"It's cute right?" Leaf asks.
"I suppose," Alex smirks, "but is it strong?"
"You tell me, Bulbasaur use Tackle!"
Bulbasaur attacks Alex
"Aaaah!," he falls to the ground, "Ok point proven. It's cool."
"I know. Hey where's Ash? I thought you guys were going to be travelling together?" Leaf asks.
"We were thinking about it but ultimately we decided it would be better if we travelled alone," Alex shrugs, "Besides you know how Ash is, we'd be lucky to get out of Pallet Town following his lead."
"You're not exactly great with directions either Alex," Leaf chuckles, "Well I have to go, you should hurry inside, Gary's still sleeping at the moment so you get to pick."
"Alright see ya Leaf, hopefully we run into each other sometime."
"Bye Alex." And Leaf heads off. Alex glances down at Ash's house before heading into the lab
"AAAAAH!" Ash screams having finally woken up and noticed his alarm clock is broken.
He rushes out of the house still in his pajamas and towards the lab.
"I can't be late! I can't be late! Oh please don't be late!"
He is in such a hurry that he isn't paying attention to where he is going and runs head first into someone and slams into the ground.
"Owww," Ash groans and rubs his head.
"Watch where you're going!"
Ash's eyes widen and he looks up to see Gary staring down at him
"Oh if it isn't Ashy-boy!" Gary smirks at him.
"Gary." Ash gets to his feet and dusts himself off.
"We just started and you're already behind huh," Gary laughs, "You may as well just give up and go home!"
"No way! I'm gonna become a Pokemon Master just you watch!" Ash yells at him
"That's rich. You need a Pokemon to become a Pokemon Master and unluckily for you I just took the last one!" he pulls out his Pokeball and waves it infront of Ash's face.
"The last one?" Ash says crestfallen.
"Well duh. Four trainers, three Pokemon, it's obvious one of us weren't getting a Pokemon and that one of us is you! Now you get to watch as I Gary Oak become a Pokemon Master!"
"Gary! Gary! He's our man! If he can't do it no one can!"
Ash cringes at the sound of Gary's cheerleaders who he is just now noticing are in a parked car nearby.
"You got a car?" He asks genuinely confused.
"Yep, it pays to have a famous grandfather you know."
"But you're ten, you can't even drive it."
"I don't have to! I have people for that!"
Gary hops into the passenger's seat for his car. One of his cheerleaders is driving.
"Smell ya later Ashy! Let's go ladies!" and they drive off.
"That Gary makes me so mad!" Ash clenches his fists angrily. (It can't be true right. Surely Professor Oak would have planned for all four of us.)
Ash heads up to the lab. He knocks on the door nervously.
"Coming!" he hears Professor Oak's voice, a few seconds pass and the door opens revealing the good Professor himself. "Oh hello Ash, I must say you don't look dressed for a Pokemon adventure."
"Sorry Professor I overslept and didn't have time to change," Ash admits embarressed.
"Well come on in, I got your Pokemon ready." Professor Oak turns and heads inside, Ash follows him.
"You have a spare Pokemon for me?"
"Ofcourse! You think I wouldn't keep a spare Pokemon for any extra trainers, imagine that!"
Professor Oak picks up a pokeball which has a lightning sticker on it. He hands it to Ash and grins.
"Happy Birthday Ash, I think you'll like it"
Ash holds out the pokeball, "Come on out!"
The Pokemon emerges from the Pokeball...
Pikachu?
"A Pikachu!" Ash shouts excitedly, "Where did you get it Professor?"
"I caught it a few weeks ago when I visited Viridian City, your mother mentioned that Pikachu was your favourite Pokemon and since you were starting your journey soon I thought it would be a nice gift to give you."
"Thank you so much Professor!"
Ash bends down towards the Pikachu who up until this point has been ignoring him.
"Hi Pikachu my name is Ash Ketchum and I'm your new friend!"
Pikachu looks at him confused. Ash moves to touch Pikachu
"Wait Ash I need to warn you-" but as soon as Ash touches Pikachu the Electric Mouse unleashes a Thundershock
"Aaaaaaaah!" Ash is shocked
"That Pikachu is not really fond of humans," Oak says sheepishly.
"Now you tell me...oh well I'm sure we'll bond in no time isn't that right buddy?" Ash asks Pikachu. The Pokemon glares at him and sparks again. Professor Oak grabs a few items from his desk.
"Before you go here is your Pokedex, it is a catalogue of every known Pokemon in the whole world and is constantly being updated with new information." Oak hands the Pokedex to Ash.
"Cool. I'm gonna call it Dexter." He replies completely seriously, Professor Oak just stares at him for a few seconds.
"Alright then. Here are some Pokeballs to get you started, you will have to restock yourself at PokeMarts but I'm sure that won't be a problem."
"Thank you Professor. Alright let's go Pikachu! Time to start our Pokemon journey!" Ash turns and heads towards the door. Pikachu looks around confused, shrugs, and follows Ash. Professor Oak watches them leave.
(Goodluck Ash)
Ash and Pikachu exit the lab and see Delia waiting outside.
"Mom!"
Delia hugs him.
"Oh happy birthday Ash! You ran off so quickly I didn't get to give you your present!"
"I'm sorry. I was just so panicked about being late that I rushed here."
"Well everything worked out for the best it seems. Is that your Pokemon?" Delia asks
"Yep this is Pikachu. Pikachu this is my mom."
Pika...
"It's so cute! I think it likes me." Delia says happily. Meanwhile Pikachu is imagining Thundershocking her.
Pika
Delia hands Ash a bag.
"I packed you your sneakers and jeans and a few clean t-shirts as well as a couple pairs of underpants and also your favourite snack as well as some hot cocoa but becareful not to burn yourself and also some rubber gloves to do your laundry and a clothesline to hang it up-"
"Mom slow down. I'm gonna be alright, I'm not a little kid anymore remember." Ash says.
Delia smiles, "You remind me of your father more everyday."
Ash smiles at that. "Well I better get going mom, don't want to fall too far behind the others, return Pikachu!"
Ash tries to return Pikachu to it's pokeball but it resists.
"Huh? That's weird." Delia says.
"I'm sure it's just messing around, come on Pikachu get into the ball." Ash tries again but it resists still, "Maybe I'm doing this wrong?"
He lightly tosses the pokeball at Pikachu who knocks it back at Ash. They repeat this a few times.
"Aww you're playing catch, you're best friends already!" Delia says totally oblivious.
"Uh sure yeah best friends." Ash picks up Pikachu. "Bye mom, I'll-"
Pikachu!
Both Ash and Delia are shocked and fall to the ground. Ash groans. Delia is completely out of it.
"Remember to change your underwear...everyday..." She says.
Pikachu laughs
Ash, who has since changed out of his pajamas, is dragging Pikachu along using the clothesline he was given, he is also wearing the rubber gloves to protect himself from the Thundershocks.
"Come on Pikachu stop misbehaving! I just want to be your friend!"
Pika! Pikachu!
Ash sits down exhausted.
"I've barely left Pallet Town and I'm already exhausted," he sighs and looks at Pikachu who is sitting next to him, "Alright clearly there's some issues we need to work out if we want to be an effective team. So why don't you tell me what's wrong?"
Pika pika pika pichu.
"I have absolutely no idea what you just said, but I'm assuming you don't like me?"
Pikachu rolls it's eyes.
"Maybe Dexter can help." Ash takes out his Pokedex and scans Pikachu.
Pikachu the Mouse Pokemon. An Electric type. When it is angered, it immediately discharges the energy stored in the pouches in its cheeks.
Pikachu is the evolved form of Pichu and evolves into Raichu through use of a Thunder Stone. This Pikachu is Male.
"That didn't help that much. Atleast I know you're a boy though."
Pika?
"Ok that got us nowhere. Let's just talk. I really just want to be friends with you Pikachu, so what do you say?"
Pikachu turns it's back on Ash...and notices a Pidgey nearby.
"Ooh a wild Pidgey! I better scan it quickly!"
Ash points the Pokedex at Pidgey
Pidgey the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Normal/Flying type. It usually hides in tall grass. Because it dislikes fighting, it protects itself by kicking up sand.
Pidgey evolves into Pidgeotto. This Pidgey is Female.
"It's not hiding at the moment, maybe it's looking for food. Oh well now's my chance to catch my first Pokemon! Pikachu use Thundershock!"
Pikachu ignores Ash and instead climbs up a tree.
"Pikachu come on! Fine forget it, I'll catch that Pokemon without your help!" Ash says upset. He digs in his bag and pulls out his pajama shirt. He starts sneaking towards Pidgey.
(Nice and slow. Almost there.)
Pidgey suddenly looks up alerted and lets out a cry. It uses Sand Atttack
"Aaah I'm blind!" Ash trips and falls to the ground. Pidgey flies away and Pikachu starts laughing.
"You could help out anytime you know!" Ash yells at Pikachu. He gets back to his feet and wipes his eyes. He notices another bird Pokemon close by, looking away from him.
"I'm gonna get you this time Pidgey."
Ash picks up a rock and aims it at the Bird. He tosses it hitting the Bird on it's head.
"Got it!"
The bird turns towards Ash angrily.
"Wait that's not a Pidgey...it's a Spearow!" He yells out in shock.
Pika!
Spearow! Spearow!
"Run Pikachu!" Ash yells. Pikachu hops down from the tree and the two take off running. A flock of Spearow emerge from hiding and dive at them.
"Aaaaaaah!"
Pika!
"Stay behind me Pikachu! I'll protect you!" Ash yells, in response Pikachu rushes ahead of him, "No Pikachu I said I'd protect you!"
The Spearow suddenly attack Pikachu.
Pikachu!
He lets out a Thundershock knocking a few back but there are too many of them. They overwhelm him and start pecking and scratching him.
Chu!
"Leave him alone!" Ash screams at them. He forces himself in between them and grabs Pikachu before continuing to run. Pikachu is badly injured.
Pi...
"Oh Pikachu you're hurt! Don't worry I'll get you to safety!" Ash yells. However Ash was so focused on Pikachu that he wasn't paying attention to what was infront of him and proceeds to run off a cliff.
"Aaaaaah!"
They get swept up into a waterfall.
A ten year old girl is fishing nearby. Her bicycle is parked close to her.
"I got something!" She yells excitedly and starts reeling it in. "This is a big one!"
She yanks and pulls Ash out of the water.
"Aaaah!" Ash slams into the ground. He is still clutching Pikachu.
"Oh it's just a kid...wait what?" The girl approaches them confused.
"Are you ok?" She asks.
"Yes thank you." Ash replies.
Pi...
"Pikachu! I need to get you help quickly!"
The girl notices the injured Pikachu in Ash's arms.
"What happened to your Pikachu?" She asks concerned.
"We were attacked. Please are there any Pokemon Centres nearby?" Ash asks desperately.
"Yeah in Viridian City, just head straight that way." The girl replies pointing ahead of them.
"Thank you." Ash says as he gets to his feet.
Spearow!
"Oh no! They're coming back!" Ash yells and suddenly hops onto the girl's bike and places Pikachu into the basket.
"What do you think you're doing!" She yells at Ash as he starts pedalling away
"I'll give it back someday!" Ash yells back at her.
"Come back!" She yells at him, but then the Spearow flock swoop past her, "Aaaah!"
Ash pedals as quickly as he can. It has started raining heavily and he can hear thunder in the sky.
"Just hang on Pikachu, we'll be there soon ok."
Pikachu looks up at Ash weakly.
Pika...
They suddenly hit a bump and are sent flying from the bicycle.
"Aaaah!"
They both slam into the ground hard.
"No..."
Spearow!
The flock is getting closer. Ash gets to his feet.
"Pikachu I know you don't like it but you need to get into your Pokeball. It's the only way I can protect you," Ash places the Pokeball next to Pikachu and then turns to face the Spearow flock.
"Spearow do you know who I am! My name is Ash Ketchum from the town of Pallet and I'm going to be a Pokemon Master! I will defeat and catch you all you hear me!"
The Spearow dive towards Ash angrily. Pikachu suddenly rushes up onto Ash's shoulder and then leaps into the air between him and the Spearow.
Pi..ka...Chuuuuuuu!
Pikachu unleashes a Thundershock at the same time that a bolt of lightning strikes him causing a massive blast.
Ash and Pikachu both lay on the ground. The Spearow have been driven away and the storm is passing. Ash turns his head to look at Pikachu.
"Pikachu?"
Pikachu reaches it's paw towards Ash.
Pika...pi
Ash sits up and gently lifts Pikachu up.
"Come on, let's get you to a Pokemon Centre."
Pikachu suddenly points up at the now clear sky.
Pikachu
Ash looks up just in time to see a Pokemon flying in the sky above them. A rainbow is trailing behind it.
"What Pokemon is that?"
He scans it with the PokeDex
No Information Available
"Wow. A mystery Pokemon. That's a good sign for our adventure isn't it Pikachu?"
Pika
Ash gets to his feet and glances at the fried bicycle.
"That girl is not going to be happy when she finds out what we did to her bike. Hopefully we never run into her again."
Ash carries on towards Viridian City.
Alex is in the Viridian City Pokemon Centre. Nurse Joy hands him two Pokeballs.
"Here you go Alex. Your Pokemon are fully healed."
"Thank you Nurse Joy. Can I book a room for the night?" Alex asks.
"Ofcourse." Nurse Joy replies.
Officer Jenny is busy setting up wanted posters. She picks up her radio and speaks into it.
"Attention citizens of Viridian City! Attention citizens of Viridian City! We have reports of Pokemon thieves in our area! Be on the lookout for suspicious looking people! Repeat be on the lookout for-huh?"
Officer Jenny notices Ash running into town, Pikachu cradled in his arms. She leaps in front of him.
"Halt! What are you doing with that Pikachu!" She yells at him. He cluthces Pikachu close to him.
"It's my Pikachu and it's hurt!" Ash yells back at her.
"Oh I'm sorry. I thought since it wasn't in it's Pokeball that you were stealing it."
"There are people who steal Pokemon?" Ash asks horrified.
"Oh yes many, but the worst are a gang of criminals called Team Rocket. There are reports that some of their agents have been spotted around Viridian City."
"That's horrible!" Ash yells, "I can't believe anyone would steal Pokemon!"
Pi...
"Could you give me directions to the Pokemon Centre?" Ash asks.
"Get into my sidecar. I'll get you there in no time at whole," Officer Jenny replies.
They speed off down the road. A few minutes later a fishing hook descends from the sky and hooks onto the wanted poster. It rips it off the wall and reels back onto a Meowth shaped hot air balloon floating above the city. Jessie of Team Rocket examines the wanted poster.
"This is a terrible picture! It doesn't capture my beauty in the slighest!"
"And that is such an unflattering angle of me," her partner James replies.
"They didn't even include me!" Meowth yells out angrily.
Jessie tears the poster up.
"There all better now."
"So what's the plan Jess?" James asks curiously.
"Yeah who are we stealing from tonight?" Meowth asks.
"We're going to target the Pokemon Centre. They're sure to have plenty of rare Pokemon for the boss." Jessie replies.
Ash is sitting in the lobby of the Pokemon Centre. He has already handed Pikachu over to Nurse Joy and is now waiting for her to finish tending to him.
(I need to get my mind off of Pikachu. I know, I'll call home.)
Ash heads over to one of the video phones and calls his mother.
"Hello Ketchum Residence."
"Hi mom."
"Ash! Hi honey is everything ok? Where are you?" His mom asks excitedly.
"I'm in the Pokemon Centre at Viridian City." Ash replies.
"You're already in Viridian City?" His mom says genuinely surprised, "It took your father four days to get there when he started his journey. Oh he'll be so proud, you're the apple of his eye."
"Yeah a rotten apple," Ash replies dejectedly.
"What's wrong Ash? You seem upset?" His mom asks concerned.
"I'm alright...but Pikachu got hurt on the way here." Ash replies sadly.
"Oh I'm sure everything will be fine, Pokemon Centres are trained to take care of Pokemon."
"I still feel like it was my fault though. Maybe I'm not cut out to be a Pokemon trainer..."
"Don't feel discouraged Ash! You're doing fine, just keep working hard and caring for your Pokemon and everything will work out fine."
"I guess..."
"I have to go honey. Goodnight Ash and remember to wear clean underwear everyday."
"I know mom, goodnight."
Delia hangs up and Ash slumps back into his seat. He looks up at the wall and notices a painting of three Bird-like Pokemon.
(Oh yeah that reminds me. I should call Professor Oak and tell him about that mysterious Pokemon I saw.)
Ash is about to dial Professor Oak's number when the phone starts ringing. He answers it to reveal Professor Oak is on the other line.
"Professor Oak!"
"Hello Ash. Your mother just told me that you were already in Viridian City is that correct?"
"I couldn't be talking to you otherwise Professor."
"Oh right ofcourse. I admit I was concerned about you handling yourself when you left, but when Gary told me you wouldn't catch a single new Pokemon by the time you get to Viridian City I bet him a million dollars that he'd be wrong!"
"Well money isn't everything right Professor?" Ash says nervously. Professor Oak slumps over depressed.
"Why do I even bother?"
"But I did see something weird. There was a majestic bird Pokemon that flew over the rainbow and when I tried to scan it Dexter didn't give me any information." Ash replies.
"Oh really? That is really interesting Ash. Please tell me did you notice any distinguishable features on it?" Professor Oak asks.
"Uh let me think. I didn't really get a good look," Ash scratches his chin, "Well it was definitely a bird. It had red feathers, or was it gold? Oh and when it flew past it created a rainbow!"
"Yes yes. Hmm let me check something."
Professor Oak pages through a book.
"Ha! Here it is! My this is truly impressive."
"What is it Professor?" Ash asks curiously.
"It seems what you saw was a Ho-Oh! It's a Legendary Pokemon from the Johto region. I'm not too up to date about the legend but seeing one is very rare indeed. I'll contact Professor Westwood and see if we can get some information on Ho-Oh for the PokeDex. Goodbye Ash." and Professor Oak hangs up.
"A Ho-Oh huh? Wow." Ash leans back in thought.
"There you are!" An angry voice snaps him out of his thoughts. He gets up and sees the girl from before has entered the Pokemon Centre, and she's carrying her fried bicycle.
"Look what you and your Pikachu did to my bike! I expect you to-woah!" She loses her balance and falls to the ground, the bike on top of her. Ash rushes over and lifts the bike off her.
"Here let me help." He tries to help her up but she pushes him away and gets to her feet herself. She dusts herself off.
"I don't want your help! I just want you to pay me back for destroying my bike!" She yells out at him.
"I'm sorry,I promise I'll pay you back for the bike, but right now I just need to make sure my Pikachu is ok." Ash replies sadly.
"Hey whoever is making so much noise could you please keep it down?" Alex says as he wanders into the lobby, half asleep. His eyes widen when he sees Ash.
"Alex? You're still here?" Ash asks surprised.
"Uh yeah. I'm surprised to see you made it here so quickly to be honest." Alex replies.
"Why does everyone keep saying that?" Ash pouts.
"Uh hello! What's going on here!" the girls yells annoyed.
"Oh sorry, this is my friend Alex." Ash says gesturing at Alex. He smiles at the girl.
"Hey there. What's your name?" Alex asks.
"I'm Misty."
"And how do you know Ash?" Alex asks.
"He wrecked my bike!"
"Ash what did you do?" Alex asks.
"It was an accident I swear! Pikachu and I were being chased by a flock of Spearow and one thing led to another and the bike got fried!"
"Do you have any clue how much that bike cost!" Misty says angrily.
"I promise I'll get you a new one."
"Wait let's circle back to the Pikachu thing." Alex butts in confused.
"Oh yeah I overslept and got to the lab late and all the starters were given out already so Professor Oak gave me a Pikachu." Ash replies.
"Huh alright I think I got the picture." Alex says.
"Good then can we go back to talking about my bike! I'm not leaving until you pay me back!"
At that moment the ceiling is blown up.
"Aaaah!" Misty yells.
"What's going on!" Ash yells.
Nurse Joy rushes out of the backroom just as the lobby starts filling with smoke.
"I can't see anything!" Nurse Joy yells.

The smoke clears to reveal Jessie posing.
Jessie: Jessie!
The smoke clears to reveal James posing.
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
The smoke clears to reveal Meowth posing.
Meowth: Meowth! That's right!
The smoke clears revealing an Ekans and Koffing as well.
Ash scans Ekans and Koffing
Ekans the Snake Pokemon. A Poison type. Moving silently and stealthily, it eats the eggs of birds, such as PIDGEY and SPEAROW, whole. Ekans evolves into Arbok. This Ekans is male.
Koffing the Poison Gas Pokemon. A Poison type. If Koffing becomes agitated, it raises the toxicity of its internal gases and jets them out from all over its body. This Pokémon may also overinflate its round body, then explode. Koffing evolves into Weezing. This Koffing is Male.
"Who are they?" Misty asks confused.
"Oh no it's Team Rocket!" Nurse Joy shouts.
"Team Rocket?" Alex asks confused.
"They're Pokemon thieves." Ash says angrily. "They must be here to steal all the injured Pokemon."
"What do you know the kid's a genius!" Meowth laughs.
"That is our plan now hand over all the Pokemon and we won't hurt you." Jessie threatens.
"Also some food too." James adds in.
"You can't take them!" Nurse Joy yells at them.
"Oh and who's gonna stop us?"
Alex grabs two Pokeballs.
"I'll give it a go." Alex replies.
"Alex what are you doing?" Ash asks concerned.
"There's a Pokemon transfer machine here right?" Alex asks.
"Yes in the backroom." Nurse Joy replies.
"Well go use it. I'll buy you some time."
"Come on!" Misty yells and her,Ash and Nurse Joy run off.
"Look at this. The kid thinks he's a hero." James says.
"Let's show him what happens to heroes." Jessie replies.
"Go Charmander! Go Eevee!" Alex yells and throws his pokeballs.
Charmander Char!
Eeveee!
"Ooh an Eevee! It's so cute! Ekans go get that Eevee for me now!" Jessie yells.
Ekanssss
Ekans leaps at Eevee who is too intimidated to dodge.
"Charmander Ember now!"
Charmander fires Ember hitting Ekans in the face.
Ekansssss!
Ekans slams into the ground.
"Koffing use Sludge on that Charmander!" James yells pointing at Charmander. Koffing spits out some sludge which hits Charmander in the eyes.
Char!
"Oh no Charmander!"
The Sludge is covering Charmander's eyes preventing it from seeing.
"Ekans use Wrap!" Ekans furiously rushes towards Charmander.
"Eevee Quick Attack!"
Eevee speeds forward slamming into Ekans. Meanwhile Charmander has used it's tail flame to burn away the Sludge.
Charmander!
"Good now use Bite on that Ekans!"
Charmander leaps towards Ekans preparing to Bite it when Koffing suddenly Tackles it
Koffing!
"Not so fast!" James yells. "Koffing use Poison Gas!"
Koffing lets out some Poison Gas directly in Charmander's face. Charmander starts coughing.
"Charmander get out of there!"
Charmander faints.
"Ekans use Poison Tail on Eevee!"
Ekans' tail glows a pink colour and it smacks Eevee so hard it goes flying towards Alex.
Eeveee!
Eevee slams into Alex sending them both flying into a wall.
"Officer Jenny is on her way." Nurse Joy tells Ash and Misty as they gather up the Pokeballs.
"Hopefully she gets here in time to stop Team Rocket." Ash replies.
"Ok place the pokeballs onto this spot one at a time and I will transfer them to the Pokemon Centre in Pewter City."
"You really need a faster way of doing this," Misty mumbles under her breath.
Alex is suddenly blasted through the wall.
"Alex!" Ash yells out.
"No worry I don't want to touch the Charmander..." Alex mumbles clearly out of it. He passes out. Team Rocket emerge through the wall cackling like lunatics.
"Hand over all the Pokemon!" Meowth says.
"Wait is that Meowth talking?" Ash asks only now noticing the strange occurence.
"What you never meet a talking Meowth before? It's not that weird kid." Meowth answers
"I should probably scan this," Ash replies and takes out his PokeDex.
"Seriously! Now?"
Meowth the Scratch Cat Pokemon. A Normal type. It is fascinated by round objects. It can't stop playing with them until it tires and falls asleep.
Meowth evolves into Persian. This Meowth is Male.
"I'm standing right here ya know! That is just rude!" Meowth yells angrily. Ash picks up a ball and tosses it at Meowth.
"Oooo ball!" Meowth grabs the ball and starts playing with it. Jessie and James just look at him disappointed.
"He's distracting you moron!" Jessie yells angrily.
"Don't bother, he won't stop this for hours," James sighs.
"Well then it's up to us!" Ekans use Wrap!"
"Koffing use Tackle!"
The two Pokemon rush towards Nurse Joy. Misty grabs her Pokeball and tosses it.
"I call Staryu!"
Hiya!
Staryu appears and sprays Water Gun at the two Poison types knocking them back.
"That was close. Thank you Misty." Nurse Joy replies.
"Don't butt in where you don't belong!" Jessie yells at Misty.
"Hey Ash I could use some help here!" Misty yells at Ash.
"I don't have any Pokemon on hand!" Ash yells back at her.
Pikapi?
"Hmm?" Ash looks around and notices Pikachu has wandered into the room. "Pikachu! You're ok!"
"Is that a Pikachu?" James asks.
"Yes. Grab it, we can take it with the others!" Jessie replies.
Koffing and Ekans rush towards Pikachu.
"Pikachu look out!"
Pikachuuuuuuu!
Pikachu fires a Thundershock hitting Koffing and Ekans and knocking them back towards Team Rocket. Koffing starts creating Smoke.
Chuuuuuuuu!
Pikachu fires another Thundershock which causes the smoke to explode. Team Rocket scream as the explosion sends them blasting out of the Pokemon Centre.
"What was that!" Meowth yells confused.
"That Pikachu defeated us with such ease!" James yells out.
"It must be very powerful! We need to catch it!" Jessie yells out.
And they disappear with a twinkle in the sky. Officer Jenny drives up to the Pokemon Centre which has been severly damaged from all the explosions.
"I hope I'm not too late."
The next day Ash,Alex and Pikachu are preparing to head out.
"So are we travelling together? Or are we gonna split up once we get to Pewter City?" Ash asks.
"We can stick together. It'll be fun." Alex replies as he looks over a map. "It's too bad the Viridian City gym leader is out of town. I wanted to challenge him."
"Well I heard the Pewter City gym leader is rather tough. You sure you can handle him?" Ash asks.
"I'm certainly looking forward to it. It seems the best route to Pewter City is through Viridian Forest. Lots of Bug Pokemon there."
"Yes! Pikachu and I are gonna catch so many Bug types!"
Pika!
Alex places his baseball bat in his bag, "Well we better get going."
"You're still carrying that around?" Ash asks surprised.
"Ofcourse!" Alex says offended.
"Ok ok no need to get touchy. Let's go Pikachu." Ash offers his arm to Pikachu who runs up it onto his shoulder. The three of them head out. As they get close to the entrance to Viridian Forest they hear yelling behind them.
"Wait!" Ash's eyes widen and Alex chuckles. Misty runs up to them.
"Where do you think you're going?" Misty asks Ash accusingly.
"Oh hey Misty we're on our way to Pewter City." Ash replies.
"Not without me! I told you I'm not leaving until you pay me back for my bike! If that means I have to follow you around all of Kanto then so be it!"
"But-"
"Welcome aboard Misty." Alex answers.

OK that wraps up the first chapter. Skip to end if you don't care about my ramblings.
I can't promise that I'll keep updating because while things are better now I'm still not exactly in the best place. I'm going to try and keep working on this series because I do enjoy it(and hopefully I won't reboot it again) and I have alot of ideas that I'd like to get out of my system. As for a few more rules involving the story:
I'll be operating more on anime logic than game logic. So I'm willing to play a bit loose on how certain abilities and attacks work if I feel it makes the battles more interesting. I won't go crazy with it though, it will usually just be small tweeks like allowing a Pokemon to move while charging up Solar Beam or something.
Levels don't exist. I'm also not including things like Trade evolutions so Pokemon like Haunter will just evolve only.
I am willing to give the main characters some new Pokemon as well as evolve some of their canon Pokemon but I'm not going crazy with this. Ultimately I want to try and stick to the anime while changing a few things up as we go
Ash will grow across the series so he won't start all perfect and knowledgeable about everything but will steadily improve overtime. He also generally won't be as stupid as he could be at times in the anime.
I can't really think of anything else I need to include so I'll just wrap things up.
