It was Saturday morning, and the Dragon Riders were in Tom's room, but he didn't seem aware of their presence. They watched him strumming an air guitar as he listened to rock 'n' roll on his headphones, humming to the tune.

"Hey," said Jun, but Tom didn't hear her and yelled a little loud. "Kullersen!" Still, he didn't listen to her, so she shouted even louder. "Tom!"

That did the trick; Tom jumped and noticed them for the first time and quickly removed his headphones. "How do you get in here?"

"Did you really just ask that?" D'Angelo asked. "I am highly trained in multiple methods of—"

"Your mom let us in," said Alex.

"Okay, sure. Mom helped out this time; the next time, I'm going fully covert," said D'Angelo, holding his hands out so they could only see his eyes.

"A better question is, what are you listening to?" Jun asked.

"And what were you doing with your hands?" James teased.

"Okay, okay. I thought I was alone," Tom admitted. "What are you doing in my room?"

"It's Saturday morning," Jun reminded him.

"We always hang out with the dragons on Saturday," said D'Angelo.

"But if you want to stay here and continue rocking and rolling, we're not going to stop you," James shrugged.

"Nah, let's wake 'em up and have some fun," said Tom, grabbing his back.

"Wait, before we do go, can you rock out one more time?" Alex asked. "It really made my morning."

Tom then pretended to strum a guitar, making them all at.

Meanwhile, Eugene had finally woken up and immediately went to raid the fridge.

"Mom? Are you going to make breakfast?" Eugene asked as he scratched his backside.

When there was no answer, he decided to look around.

"Mommy? Are you home?" he asked.

It soon dawned on him that he was completely alone, and then he saw the table, some clipboard with a spreadsheet on it.

"Spreadsheet of chores for the day?" he said as he looked through it. "'Clean the bathroom, do your laundry, vacuum the crumbs out of your bed. Love, Mom.' Well, I'm not doing this."

He then went to Jun's bedroom and banged on the door. "Jun! Mom left a bunch of chores!" However, there was no answer. "Am I talking to myself? Are you seriously not here?"

He tried to open the door, but it was locked.

He then went outside and looked through the window; from there, he could see that Jun was not inside.

"Ugh!" he groaned. "Where did she sneak off to this time?"

The Dragon Riders had reached the Dragon Lair to meet with their dragons.

"Thunder, Plowhorn, Blade, Feathers, Wu, Wei! Rise and shine," Tom called.

All the dragons apart from Thunder revealed themselves and immediately rushed to their riders.

Wu nuzzled Jun, much to Wei's annoyance. "Now, Wu, I had you first yesterday. It's Wei's turn."

James approached Blade and began to rub him. "Morning, boy. I hope you had pleasant dreams."

"Good morning, girl," said D'Angelo moments before Plowhorn tackled him to the ground and began to nuzzle him. "Aw, I missed you, too."

Feathers began to nuzzle Alex, but she noticed that she looked a bit anxious. "Feathers is upset about something."

"Thunder!" Tom yelled.

Tom began tapping his pickaxe on some sums to attract Thunder, but it looked like he wasn't in the lair.

"Thunder's not here," said Tom.

"What do you mean? He has to be here," said Jun.

"And yet he isn't," said James.

"Thunder!" Tom yelled.

"Yo, Sparky!" D'Angelo yelled. "Come on out!"

Tom looked around the lair and continued using his pickaxe to attract Thunder, but still, there was no sign of him.

"Thunder!" Tom yelled, and then he looked at the others. "Where could he be? He wouldn't just fly off."

They heard a beeping sound, and Alex quickly pulled out her tablet.

"What is it?" Jun asked.

"It's Thunder's saddle tracker," Alex informed them. "He must pass through the sensors."

"Come on," said Tom anxiously. "We have to catch up to him and figure out what's going on."

They all quickly mounted their dragons, and much to Alex's surprise, Tom chose to ride with her.

"Wait, you're right with me?" she said.

"Yeah. Co-pilot," he said. "Hand me your tablet. I'll watch the sensors while you fly the dragon." Alex then handed him the tablet. "Let's go!"

"Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a rough ride?" Alex asked herself.

They then took off.

Alex's mums were gardening outside their Dome when Eugene approached them.

"Good morning, Mrs. and Mrs. Gonzalex," he said sweetly. "What a beautiful day for gardening."

"Yes. You want to grab a shovel and dig in?" Carla asked. "It's planting season."

"Oh, I… You know what?" said Eugene. "I would really love nothing more, but I'm actually looking for Jun. She seems to have disappeared again. Is she here, perhaps?"

"Nope," said Hazel. "Alex was up and out early."

"Which warms our hearts," said Carla.

"Something about Dragon Club."

"Dragon Club?" said Eugene, his interest sparked.

"I believe it's some sort of game," said Hazel.

"Remember when we first met, Hazel?" Carla asked. "We can stop playing that postapocalyptic video game? What was it called again?"

"Horticulture Shock," said Hazel as she reminisced.

"Yes!" said Carla, and they both laughed.

"Everyone's favourite game," said Eugene, laughing. "Well, maybe Jun's over at the Baker residence. Now, you two ladies enjoy your garden and your beautiful memories. Okay, bye."

He then turned around, and his sweet smile turned into frustration as he walked away.

The Gonzalezes finally stopped laughing.

"Such an interesting child," said Hazel.

"Yeah…" Carla agreed. "We could fertilise the garden with that 'good boy' act."

They then carried on with their gardening.

Meanwhile, the Dragon Riders were still tracking down Thunder, and Tom was getting a little anxious, much to the annoyance of Alex.

"Can we go any faster?" Tom asked.

"We all can't have lightning dragons, Tom," Alex pointed out.

"Why would Thunder just leave?" Tom asked.

"Maybe he heard something and went to investigate. He can be a bit impulsive," Alex reminded him as she took her tablet from him. "Like someone else I know."

"He's never done it before."

"Or maybe he finally found his family," D'Angelo chipped in. "Isn't that what you want?"

"No!" said Tom. "I mean, yes, yes, yes. But… not without me. I-I mean, I want to find them, too. But I want to be there so I know where Thunder is and that he's okay."

"We'll find him, Tom," Jun assured him.

"And I'm sure whether he is, he's fine," said James confidently.

"Come on, Feathers. Let's pick up the pace," said Tom and notched Feathers with his feet like he often did with Thunder.

However, Feathers was not used to this treatment and immediately turned invisible, causing Tom to jump and grab hold of Alex, nearly choking her.

"Would you try to relax and enjoy the ride?" Alex asked. "You're steaming up my neck."

"Sorry, Alex," Tom apologised, releasing her, and Feathers became visible once more.

They soon reached the beacons and hovered above them.

"Is that Thunder?!" Tom asked, looking over Alex's shoulder at her tablet.

"No," she said. "That's an electromagnetic signal on the sense board. In layman's terms."

"Why are we stopping?" Tom asked.

"This is where the trail goes cold," said Alex.

"Cold?" Tom panicked quickly, looking at the tablet. "The trail can't go cold! Take us down."

They all quickly landed on the ground, and Tom immediately jumped off Alex and began looking for Thunder.

"Thunder!" he called.

The other Riders began to look around as well.

"Thunder!" Alex called.

"Where are you?" Tom asked anxiously.

"He's not over here!" Jun yelled.

"Nor here!" James added.

"Guys!" D'Angelo yelled.

They quickly rushed over to D'Angelo and saw him and Plowhorn standing in the mouth of the cave. Plowhorn was sniffing the air and picked up something.

"Plowhorn's got a scent," D'Angelo informed them. "Thunder must have gone into this cave. Good job, girl."

"Okay, Riders. Mount up, let's go!" said Tom, quickly rushing over to Alex and Feathers.

"Don't you think maybe you should ride with Plowhorn now since, you know, she's taken the lead?" Alex suggested.

"Yeah, yeah. Good idea, Alex," Tom nodded and quickly rushed over to D'Angelo and Plowhorn.

D'Angelo wasn't particularly happy having an overanxious Tom ride with him, but he could do nothing.

"Okay, let's move!" said Tom.

D'Angelo glared at Alex, who just smiled innocently at him.

So they descended into the cave, with Plowhorn taking the lead to follow the scent.

"I just don't get it," said Tom. "Is Thunder looking for something or chasing someone?"

"When Plow finds him, you'll get your answer," said D'Angelo.

"So, Plow can smell Thunder?"

"Plow can smell everything."

As they continue making their way through the cave in silence.

"Are we getting close?" Tom asked, breaking the silence.

"We do not want to rush Plowhorn," said D'Angelo. "Her nose is a miracle of nature."

Tom shifted uncomfortably on Plowhorn's back. Unlike the rest of the dragons, Plowhorn had no saddle, and her back was a bit more lumpy.

"You should really get a saddle for her," said Tom. "It would be a lot more comfortable."

"Maybe it's just your bony butt," D'Angelo suggested.

"My butt's not bony," Tom argued.

Plowhorn stopped and growled in disagreement.

"Okay, maybe a little."

"I've never seen Tom like this," said Alex.

"Yeah, but we'd all be freaking out if it was our dragon that was missing," Jun pointed out.

"Still, it would be nice if he calmed down," said James.

Then, suddenly, they heard thunder in the distance.

"Sounded like thunder," said D'Angelo.

Tom frowned. "Thunder doesn't make that sound."

"No, I mean actual thunder."

"Yeah, but it came from that cave," said Tom, pointing ahead of them.

They soon came to a dead end; there was a small opening, but it was far too small for any of them or their dragons.

"No way Plowhorn can fit through that," said D'Angelo.

"I don't think any of us can," said James.

"Wu Wei. Freeze and reheat," Jun ordered.

Wu fired his ice breath at the blocked-off cave, and Wei unleashed his heat breath. The sudden temperature change caused the cave's surface to break apart, creating an opening large enough for them and their dragons.

When they stepped through it, they just stared in shock.

"Whoa…" they breathed.

There is no longer a crystal insight. Instead, there was a huge rocky surface made of dark rocks. If that wasn't overwhelming enough, they could see the sky above them or at least something imitating it. Within this artificial sky, they could see storm clouds gathering.

Tom didn't waste any time and jumped off Plowhorn. "Thunder! Thunder!"

"Where are we?" Alex asked.

"We must have found a new area within the Hidden World," James assumed.

"This feels more like a completely different world," said D'Angelo.

"'She abandoned Heaven, abandoned Earth, and descended into the underworld,'" said Jun and everyone stared at her. "It's a Sumerian myth. Lots of cultures have stories about dark realms, places where no one should go. And no one returns."

"That's how I feel about the mall," said Alex.

"Can we try not to be morbid?" James asked.

Suddenly, they heard lightning crackling, and Tom quickly pulled out his binoculars from his backpack. He then suddenly saw a bolt of lightning heading up towards the sky.

"It's lightning!" Tom yelled to the others. "It could be Thunder! Come on!"

"Or it could be just a thunderstorm," said D'Angelo. "Look at those dark clouds."

"Thunderstorms underground?" Alex questioned. "This just keeps getting better and better."

"I don't think those actual clouds," said James. "More likely, it could be steam or smoke from vents somewhere in this new realm."

"And besides, the lightning was shooting up!" said Tom as he quickly mounted Plowhorn.

They turned and saw another bolt of lightning, which was indeed heading straight upwards.

"Oh," said D'Angelo, looking back at Tom. "You could've opened with that information." He then saw that Tom was on Plowhorn's bag and smiled innocently. "You know, it might be easier for Plowhorn to keep track with only one rider. You know, less weight, she can move faster…"

Tom raised an eyebrow. "You just want me to write with someone else."

"No! No, no," D'Angelo assured him, but Tom continued to raise an eyebrow. "Okay, yeah. I can't lie."

Moments later, they flew up into the air, and Tom was now riding on Wei's neck. As they flew, the Plowhorn was getting a little bit restless.

"Easy, girl, easy," said D'Angelo gently. "You're not the only one creeped out by this place."

"Let's just keep moving forward," said Tom.

"You know what's really strange?" said Jun as she looked around. "We haven't seen any other dragons."

No sooner had she said that they began hearing chirping sounds and saw flying straight towards them were a whole pack of those little dragons from the Crystal Realm. They quickly had to make some evasive manoeuvres to avoid slamming into them.

"You have to jinx it," said Alex.

"What was all the about?" Tom wondered. "Those dragons aren't usually that frenzied."

"They looked like they were fleeing from something," D'Angelo noted.

"Something very big," said Alex.

"I hope whatever it is, Thunder's okay," said Tom.

On the surface, Philip was locking the door to his Dome when Eugene snuck up behind him.

"Chief Baker!" said Eugene, making him jump.

"Eugene Wong," he said and began going to the station. "To what do I have the pleasure?"

"I'm looking for my sister, Jun," he said, chasing after him. "She left without doing our chores this morning. Kids, am I right?"

"You mean she left without doing her chores?" Philip corrected.

"Uh, yeah. Of course," said Eugene, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "That's what I meant. Well, since you know everything that goes on around here, you know where they go to play?"

"Nope," said Philip simply.

"I mean, Dragon Club sounds like a wonderful way for the younger kids to spend their free time. I just wish Jun would finish—"

"Have you finished your chores, Eugene?" Philip questioned, leaning towards him threateningly.

Eugene gave a nervous laugh as he smiled, which answered Phillip's question for him.

"And while you search for the skies for a well-polished response, let me answer that question for you. Nope."

He then turned around and walked away.

"Thanks, Chief!" Eugene waved, and Philip waved back without turning around.

Eugene then turned around and was utterly frustrated. "Ah! Where could those little pukes play Dragon Club?"

Meanwhile, the Dragon Riders were now flying through a canyon, and Jun noticed that the canyon walls with his new little closer towards them.

"Is it just me, or does it feel like the walls are closing in on us?" Jun asked.

"I'm sure it's just your eyes playing tricks on you," said Tom.

Alex looked around anxiously. "Ever get the feeling you're being watched?"

No sooner had she said they could see glowing red eyes coming from holes within the canyon.

"Occasionally," said Eugene.

"Yeah, I think we're definitely being watched," said James.

"Maybe we should turn around," Alex suggested.

"Keep moving," said Tom. "They're probably just cave rats."

They then heard a chirping sound coming from the holes and, seconds later, flaming webs headed straight towards them. They quickly manoeuvred to avoid getting hit.

"Yeah, cave rat that shootout flaming webs!" D'Angelo yelled as he and Plowhorn performed a barrel roll.

"These webs have Spider Wing written all over them!" said Jun.

"Evasive manoeuvres!" James yelled.

Everyone tried to avoid the fire webs, but there were just too many in the shooting in all different directions. One Spider Wing managed to hit D'Angelo, setting his boot on fire.

"We're hit!" D'Angelo panicked as he waved his foot around. "My boots! My boots! My boots are on fire!"

"Wu, chill him out!" Jun ordered.

Wu quickly fired his freeze blast, putting out the flames on D'Angelo's boot.

"Sing them to sleep, Feathers!" said Alex as she flew in.

Feathers then unleashed a powerful sight blast that took out all the Spider Wings, giving them an opening.

"Nice one, Alex," said Jun.

"You okay, D?" Jun asked, looking at D'Angelo.

"I'm good," he said. "Although my feet are a little sweaty."

"Okay, too much information," said James.

They soon exited Spider Wing territorial and flew over a watering hole.

"Oh, now the big watering hole shows up," D'Angelo complained. "Where were you a minute ago?"

Both Wu and Wei growled weakly, exhausted from all their flying, as was the battle with the Spider Wings.

"Wu and Wei could use a water break," said Jun.

"Yeah, I think we all could," said Alex.

"We have been flying without a break for a while now," said James.

Tom nodded, and they flew down to the ground.

The dragons began drinking up from the watering hole the moment the touchdown, but Tom was more fixated upon the lightning.

"If that's you, pal, just hold on. I'm coming," Tom promised.

D'Angelo sighed. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm starving." He then pulled out a few ration bars. "Anyone want a Rider ration bar?"

"Sure," said Jun as he began passing them out.

"No time like the present for a last meal," said Alex.

"I could do with something to eat," said James.

"Tom?" D'Angelo asked.

"No thanks," said Tom. "I just want to get moving."

"Suit yourself," D'Angelo shrugged and bit down the ration bar. "Mm… good, huh?"

The others didn't share that sentiment.

"Interesting," said Jun.

"Interesting?" said Alex. "I feel like I'm chewing on the back seat of my mom's minivan!"

"Yeah, you couldn't have gotten us something with a bit more flavour?" said James. "I mean, it feels as if we're eating cardboard."

"Can we just try to enjoy this moment of peace?" D'Angelo asked.

D'Angelo then closed his eyes as he savoured the taste of the rationale, but that's when they saw very familiar bubbles floating down around them.

"Uh…" said D'Angelo.

"Tom?" said Jun.

Tom turned around, and the bubbles exploded.

"Bubble Horns!" they panicked.

Suddenly, a group of Bubble Horns flew straight at them from above. They didn't seem pleased to see them without horns alight and their spikes erect. They quickly moved as the Bubble Horns swarmed them.

"Incoming!" D'Angelo yelled.

"Get down!" James yelled.

Several Bubble Horns were now flying around the dragons

"Wu! Wei!" Jun yelled.

"Feathers!" Alex cried.

Feathers quickly unleashed a sonic blast, knocking the Bubble Horns away and allowing her and the other dragons to fly into the air. Sadly, there were still too many of them, and they began swarming Dragon Riders alike.

"Ugh! There's nothing worse than a flaming unicorn!" said Alex.

Jun then recognised the leader of the pack. It was none other than Nibbles himself.

"It's Nibbles! He's back for revenge!" said Jun.

"Boy, he shall carry a grudge, doesn't he?" said James.

Nibbles began to fly towards them, but Wu and Wei quickly blocked his path, and Wu unleashed his ice breath. Nibbles could fly out of its path, but the ice blasts hit the Bubble Horns behind him, and they felt the ground with their wings frozen.

They seemed to aggravate Nibbles, and he ordered the Bubble Horns to carry on their attack more ferocity.

"Alex! James! Help me lead them towards the watering hole!" said Tom. "D, we need Plowhorn's ultimate cannonball! And Jun? Ready Wu for a freeze blast!"

"I like the way you the way you think, Kullersen," said D'Angelo.

Tom, James and Alex then ran towards the watering hole, and Nibbles led the Bubblehorns after them, with Feathers and Blade following close behind. At the same time, Jun and D'Angelo quickly mounted their dragons and followed them.

Tom and the others had reached the watering hole in the Bubblehorns were nearly upon.

"Feather…" said Alex.

"Blade…" said James.

"Now!" Tom yelled.

Blade quickly swooped in, extending his blades, scaring the Bubblehorns enough to open a path. Feathers then quickly dived in, grabbing Tom, James and Alex and lifting them to safety. The Bubblehorns then flew over the watering hole, and seconds later, Plowhorn dived in, creating a small wave that consumed them.

"Freeze 'em, Fu!" Jun ordered.

Fu then fired his freeze blast, instantly turning the water to ice and encasing the Bubblehorns inside it. The only thing that managed not to get encasing eyes was the tip of Nibbles' horn, which was still set alight.

Everyone then landed in front of the frozen Bubblehorns, and Jun approached Nibbles.

"I can't believe I ever fell for your cuteness," she said, blowing Nibbles' horn out.

Nibbles just glared at her in frustration.

"Well, I've had enough excitement for one decade," said Alex.

"I'm with Alex," said D'Angelo. "We should head back. At this point, we don't even know if we're still on Thunder's trail."

"We are in uncharted territory, essentially flying blind," said James.

"They're right, Tom," said Jun, looking at him. "First, it was the Terrors, then the Bubblehorns. Whatever this place is, it's getting pretty dangerous."

"No! Guys—" said Tom, and they suddenly saw another burst of lightning in the distance. "Look! There's still lightning on the horizon!"

"We don't even know for sure that it's Thunder, Tom!" said Alex.

"And if we stay out here much longer, we're going to be dragon food," said D'Angelo.

"We've already been attacked by several small dragons; we might run into even bigger ones," said James.

"No, no, we can't go back," said Tom stubbornly. "I need to find Thunder, and I need some answers."

"Answers?" Alex frowned, and Tom immediately realised his mistake.

"Why do I get the feeling there's something you haven't told us?" said D'Angelo suspiciously.

James folded his arms. "You have something to tell us, Tom?"

"Remember when Thunder burned that symbol into the wall of the Lair?" Tom asked, and then he reached into his backpack. "I thought it looked familiar, and it turns out it's the exact same symbol next on this Viking helmet." He then showed them his Viking helmet. "This helmet is a family heirloom. Somehow, someway, I'm connected to this whole thing."

"Okay, that's an insane newsflash!" said Alex. "Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because it's not about you guys. And I don't know what it all means yet."

"Not about us?" said D'Angelo.

"And so far, we've found nothing to explain it," Jun added.

"You told Jun?" Alex stared. "Huh. I see how it is."

"Because I needed her help!" Tom snapped. "She knows all about myths and ancient stories."

"And you didn't think we could help?" said James, looking appalled.

"That's messed up, Tom," said Alex.

"You broke the rider code," said D'Angelo.

"You guys just don't get it," said Tom, putting the Viking helmet back into his backpack. "This is something I need to figure out for myself."

He then walked off, but Jun ran after him.

"You should have told them, Tom," she said.

"What, now you're on their side?" said Tom.

"You're not a lone wolf any more, remember?" she said, returning to the others.

"You guys can head back if you want," said Tom, looking at the others. "I'll go the rest of the way on foot."

Tom then walked off.

"There he goes again," James sighed.

Jun looked to the others. "We can't just leave them out here. We still have a code."

"No rider left behind," D'Angelo nodded.

"Someone should tell the blonde guy," said Alex.

Meanwhile, Eugene returned to the Dome after failing to find the Dragon Riders.

"So, Jun thinks she can s—" Eugene kicked the door open, which then slammed into his face. He then opened it again and entered the Dome. "Sneak away with her friends and leave me in the dark. Ha! Well, she's got another thing coming. There's something going on with this Dragon Club, and I'm going to find out what it is."

He went to Jun's room and tried to open the door, which was still locked. He tried kicking the door down but slipped and fell to the floor, and then the coffee jug fell on top of his head.

"Well played, little sis," he said, rubbing his head and looking at the wall. "Ah… Well, I'll see your locked door and raise you…"

He then attempted to climb over the wall, but he soon discovered that Jun anticipated this. She had leased the ledge of the wall with mousetraps, and they sprung the moment Eugene put his fingers on them.

"Mommy!" Eugene screamed. "Owie! Owie!"

Tom was still making his way through the canyon, and the other Dragon Riders began following him on their dragons. Though they were apprehensive when they saw the storm clouds above, they were anything but inviting.

"I'm not the only one seeing this, right?" Alex asked.

"I've never seen clouds move like that," said Jun. "It looks like they're alive!"

"Let's not forget or underground, so those are really clouds, and I don't think this is a natural storm," said James.

"Kullersen!" D'Angelo yelled as Tom kept moving forward.

"I'm honoured to lightning! I'll be okay!" he assured them.

"Not without us," said Jun as she approached him. "If you go, we go. Right, guys?"

James, D'Angelo and Alex nodded in agreement.

"Okay," said Tom. "Maybe if we hurry, we can get there before the storm hits."

Then, they were hit by a powerful gust of wind, and suddenly, appearing out of nowhere was a tornado blocking their path.

"Tornado! Bug out!" D'Angelo yelled, and he and Alex quickly flew away.

"No!" said Tom firmly.

"You're scaring me, Kullersen!" said D'Angelo.

Tom then climbed onto Wei. "Stick close to the walls. We can get around it."

"It'll be okay," said Jun, reassuring Wu.

They then quickly took off and began to fly around the tornado, but that's when Tom saw something flying around at the very top of the tornado.

"I don't think that's a storm!" said Tom.

"Plowhorn, bomb it!" D'Angelo ordered.

"Blade, light it up!" James commanded.

Both Plowhorn and Blade fired at the top of the tornado, and they saw an angry-looking dragon flying out of it.

It had metallic scales like Blade and had a long neck with a single horn on the front of its snout. It also had a whiplike tail, which looked incredibly sharp. It then instantly fired down at them, clearly in retaliation to their attack.

"Evasive manoeuvres!" D'Angelo yelled.

They quickly swirled out of the way in time to avoid getting hit. Their dragons then immediately attacked the tornado dragon, but none of their attacks had any effect.

"It didn't leave a dent!" said Alex.

"Guess it had a pretty tough hide," James assumed.

"Why is it trying to wreck us?" Tom frowned. "We didn't do anything!"

"Maybe it's like a gatekeeper, protecting whatever is on the other side," Jun suggested.

"Or perhaps we entered it's territorial, and it's extremely territorial," said James.

The tornado dragon then swooped down towards them and struck all of them with its whiplike tail. It then was so much force that they were all sent crashing down towards the ground, but fortunately, their dragons were able to pull up in time before they hit it.

"Get out of here!" Tom ordered.

They attempted to fly away; the tornado dragon wasn't allowing them to do that. It began spinning its tail around, creating a powerful gust of wind that slammed them into the ground.

All of them were a little winded but otherwise fine.

"What is it doing?" Jun asked, looking up.

They saw the tornado dragon flying through the clouds and began moving faster and faster, causing the clouds to circle it.

"I think it's making another tornado!" Tom guessed.

"With us in the middle…" said Alex as the tornado formed around.

If that wasn't bad enough, the tornado dragon then fired upon the tornado. It was then that they discovered the clouds were, in fact, not clouds but some flammable gas. The moment the fires hit the tornado, it set it ablaze, trapping them in a fiery tornado.

"Plow, blow us a hole!" D'Angelo ordered.

"Blade, make an opening!" James commanded.

Both dragons fired at the tornado, but their attacks proved ineffective.

"Wu, freeze blast!" Jun ordered.

Wu fired his freeze blast upon the tornado; the flames were too fierce and would not be put out.

"It's starting to get very warm in here," said D'Angelo.

"We need to get out and quickly before we're cooked," said James.

"I…I-I don't know what to do," said Tom.

Everyone looked at one another, and they didn't seem to have any ideas until D'Angelo turned to Plowhorn.

"Plow? We're up," he said.

Plowhorn nodded, and D'Angelo began to climb onto her back.

Tom quickly grabbed his shoulder to stop him. "No! D…"

"You said it yourself, Kullersen—you don't know what to do," D'Angelo reminded. "Plow is built for this. When we knock out the fire tornado, you guys hit him with everything you've got. It's the only way."

"Plow can survive the heat, but you not so much," said James.

"Wait a second," said Jun and looked at Wu. "Wu. Chill 'em out."

Wu then fired his freeze blast at D'Angelo and Plowhorn.

"That should buy you a few more seconds," she said.

"Thanks," said D'Angelo through chatted teeth.

Alex bent down and stroked Plowhorn before looking up at D'Angelo. "You're very brave."

"Best of luck," said James.

D'Angelo nodded and looked down at Plowhorn. "Okay, girl. Let's go introduce ourselves to that tornado dragon."

They then took off and circled the tornado, gradually going upwards while everyone else mounted their dragons and got ready.

"We're going to need all the speed you got, Plowhorn!" D'Angelo yelled. Plowhorn began moving faster and faster. "Little faster… little faster… Almost… there… Little closer…" They were now level with the tornado dragon. "Now!"

They then dived into the flaming tornado and emerged outside. They circled it opposite the tornado dragon, who flew around the corner. They then slammed into the tornado dragon with everything they had head-on.

Tom and the others waited for the moment the flames tornado receded, and they took off. The collision stunned the tornado dragon, which allowed them to attack.

"Feathers!" Alex yelled, and Feathers immediately blasted the Dragon with a sonic blast.

The tornado dragon swung its tail like last time, but Blade blocked it with his wings.

"Not this time!" James yelled.

"It with everything you've got!" Jun yelled to Wu and Wei.

The two-headed dragon then unleashed their ice and heat blasts at the dragon.

It had enough as it began flying away from them.

They then heard D'Angelo groans and looked down to see him flat on the ground with Plowhorn next to him.

"D!" Tom yelled.

They quickly landed and rushed over to D'Angelo.

"You okay?" Jun asked.

"I think so," D'Angelo groaned.

"Do you know what day it is?" Alex asked.

"Marmalade?" D'Angelo groaned, and they all looked at one another, slightly concerned. "I'm just messing with you guys. It's Saturday. I think."

Tom then helped him onto his feet, and he looked at him. "I hope you're Viking helmet is worth all this, Kullersen."

They then heard a familiar growl. When they turned around, they saw Thunder.

"Thunder," Tom gasped.

Without hesitation, he quickly rushed over to Thunder, who looked worn out. "Thunder. You okay? What happened here? Why did you run off?"

Thunder growled softly and nuzzled him.

"It looks like some sort of battle took place here," said D'Angelo, noting the scorch marks in the area.

"I don't see any crystals from that tornado dragon," said Jun. "And all these marks are from lightning blasts."

"So, Thunder was in a fight with another lightning dragon?" said Alex.

"Judging from these scorch marks, it was quite the battle," said James.

Tom then noticed the dragon scale on the ground. "Guys! Look at this!"

"Is that one of Thunder's scales?" D'Angelo asked.

Tom picked it up, examined it, and found it was quite different from Thunder's scales. "No. It must come off the dragon he was fighting."

Thunder snarled at the dragon scale and glared at a nearby cave.
