The Dragon Riders were now searching the Ice Realm for Buzzsaw or the key to the puzzle box, but so far, they hadn't had any luck with either.
"Okay, everyone, keep your eyes open," said Tom.
"Remind me again, are we looking for Buzzsaw today or the elusive key to your dragon box?" Alex asked. "I get confused about what we're supposed to be obsessed with."
"We're looking for both, Alex, but we haven't seen any evidence of Buzzsaw since he ran off somewhere out here. So, technically, it's dragon box key day."
"How are we going to find a key in all this ice?" D'Angelo asked.
"D'Angelo's right, Tom," said Jun. "This is worse than a needle in a haystack."
"And we don't even know the needle is here," James added.
"There has to be a key somewhere," said Tom. "Whoever left the box was in the Fire Realm. They might've found the Ice Realm, too."
Then suddenly, there was a powerful gust of wind, and they could see some fearsome storm clouds overhead. They had no idea how there was a storm underground, but it certainly was not looking inviting.
"Those storm clouds are moving towards us," said Alex. "Maybe we should head home."
"I'm with Gonzalez," said Eugene. "This one time, I was caught in a gnarly storm…"
"We can't leave yet," Tom interrupted. "This is still one more place I want to check out. It's not far from here."
"Quick, D," Alex whispered. "Do the thing where you panic about missing curfew."
"Curfew is important," said D'Angelo.
"Oh, come on, guys. It's just one more stop," said Tom.
"That's what you said two stops ago," said Jun.
"Okay, okay, but I'm serious this time."
He shot off ahead of them, and everyone groaned as they followed him.
They soon landed on the ground in front of a giant tree at the base of the tunnel. Tom wasted no time in entering it with Thunder.
"I have a good feeling about this place, Pal," said Tom.
"Somebody go with him, please," said Alex. "I'll keep an eye on those clouds."
"Way ahead of you," said Jun as she entered the tunnel with Wu and Wei.
"Count me in," said James, following her with Blade.
"Keep us on schedule, D," said Alex.
"Roger," D'Angelo nodded and followed Jun and James down the tunnel. "Come on, Plow."
Plowhorn followed him into the cave, leaving Alex and Eugene alone with their dragons.
"That storm's coming in hot," said Alex.
"I think you mean coming in cold," Eugene corrected, making a popping sound with his tongue. "You see what I did there? You line 'em up, I'll knock 'em down."
Alex merely groaned.
She then turned her eyes towards the storm, which was getting closer. "It looks like it's getting worse."
"Don't worry about it. Webs and I will keep you two company," Eugene assured her.
Webmaster growled at Feathers, who immediately cloaked and reappeared, hiding behind Alex.
"Lucky us," said Alex as she stroked Feathers.
Tom, meanwhile, had entered into a large ice cavern.
"Whoa!" said Tom as he stared in amazement. "Look at this place!"
"Wow!" said D'Angelo as he and the others joined him. "If I was going to hide a key, I definitely pick a place as cool as this."
They then began searching the cavern, and Wu and Wei found something. Wei notched Jun to get her attention and then gestured towards the ground.
Jun followed his gaze and saw claw prints on the ground. "Hey! Over here! Wu's got something."
"Those are some big claw prints," said D'Angelo.
"Or are they big paw prints?" said Jun
"Forget what I said earlier," said D'Angelo. "I doubt anything with feet like that, the dragon box key."
"It could be a garden, you know, to protect it," said James.
"James is right in mythology; the gods often placed dangerous creatures to guard something important," said Jun.
"Let's keep looking," said Tom. "Maybe we'll find the key and the new dragon."
"Or maybe they aren't dragon prints," said Jun and got up excitedly. "It's a yeti! Also known as the Abominable Snowman. Ancient Himalayan ledge and speak about a giant hairy beast with big footprints in the snow. Of course, it's usually a sign of danger."
"Only one way to find out," said Tom.
D'Angelo sighed and looked at Plowhorn. "All right, Plow. Time to sniff out some danger."
Plowhorn then began to sniff the ground.
Meanwhile, Eugene was messing around outside by tossing some snowballs into the air and had Webmaster blast them.
"Yeah!" he cheered. "Throw 'em up, then blow 'em up! It's Webs' favourite Ice Realm game. Want to play?"
He then tossed a snowball directly over Alex and Feathers.
"Blast!"
Webmaster blasts at the snowball, causing snowflakes to learn directly on top of Alex and Feathers.
"Hey!" Alex snapped. "Watch it, will you?"
"Relax! We're just having some fun," said Eugene.
"Doesn't look like we're having fun?" said Alex, who gently rubbed Feathers, who looked slightly terrified. "Feathers doesn't do well in the Ice Realm as it is. She's more the warm-weather dragon."
Webmaster then approached Feathers and looked like he was trying to apologise, but Feathers snapped at him.
"What's her problem?" Eugene asked. "Webmaster was just trying to say sorry."
"She isn't ready for an apology just yet."
"Humpth! Well, that's just rude," Eugene muttered, folding his arms.
"Obviously, Feathers is still getting used to Webmaster being a part of the group," Alex explained.
Then suddenly, there was a powerful gust of wind. When they looked up, they saw the storm clouds were practically on top of them.
"It's here," said Alex.
"Time to grab the others and head home," said Eugene.
"We'll be right back, Feathers!" said Alex as they made their way to the cave.
A cold gust of wind hit both Feathers and Webmaster, and began to shiver, especially Feathers.
Meanwhile, Tom and the others continued exploring the cave and followed the tracks to another chamber. Tom then noticed some white fur attached to a shard of ice.
"This looks like… fur?" he frowned.
"Ha! I knew this cave was feeling squatchy," said Jun excitedly, grabbing the fur.
"Could just be a larger land mammal," D'Angelo pointed out, examining the fur.
"Oh, come on!" Jun moaned. "Big paws, white fur, lives in the snow? What else could it be besides a yeti?"
D'Angelo raised an eyebrow. "You're literally describing a polar bear."
Jun narrowed her eyes at him.
At that moment, both Alex and Eugene entered the chamber.
"You guys! The snowstorm just hit!" Alex informed them.
"We need to blow this popsicle stand, like, right now," said Eugene.
"Okay, okay, just a few more minutes," said Tom. "I want to make sure the key's not in here."
"In a few more minutes, Kullersen, we're going to be permanent residents of this igloo!" Alex snapped.
Thunder growled at Tom, telling him that he agreed with her.
"Tom, we could always search tomorrow when we're not pressed for time," James pointed out.
"You're right," Tom relented. "We'll come back later."
They immediately exited the cave, and the storm was indeed getting worse.
"Come on, Webmaster!" Eugene called. "Let's go!"
"Feathers!" Alex yelled.
"Yo, Webs! Where you at?"
"This is no time to hide!"
"Webmaster?"
"Feathers?"
"Everybody, fan out. They can't be far," Tom ordered.
"Feathers! Webmaster!" everyone yelled.
They kept searching, but the storm was slowly becoming a blizzard.
"Feathers!" Jun called.
Tom then landed next to her. "Anything?"
"No sign of them."
"Plow can't smell a thing in all this," said D'Angelo.
"I can barely see in front of me now," said James.
"What are we going to do, Tom?" Jun asked as they shivered.
"If we keep searching in this storm, we might all get separated and lost," said Tom.
"Webs! Buddy!" Eugene yelled.
"Feathers!" Alex cried.
"Where are you?"
"If you can hear me, come back!"
Tom then rushed over to them. "Alex! Eugene! We've got to go. We'll pick up the search tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" Alex stared. "What are you talking about? We have to keep looking! Feathers is out there!"
"Webs, too!" Eugene added.
"Look, I know you don't want to leave," said Tom gently. "I don't either. But we can't risk all of us."
"It's getting late," D'Angelo added. "We'll be hard-pressed to get back as it is."
"This is not where I wanted you to pull the curfew thing, D," said Alex.
"Dude, how can we just leave our dragons out here?" Eugene asked.
"Webmaster and Feathers are from the wild," Jun reminded them. "They lived in the Dragon Realms their whole lives. They'll be okay for a night."
"But we won't if we stay here and freeze to death," said James.
"They're right," said Tom.
"Huh! Classic Kullersen!" Eugene spat. "All the time in the world to search for a key to your dopey box, but no time for Webs or Feathers!"
Tom sighed. "I'm sorry, but we don't have a choice. We'll come back at first light. Promise."
Neither Alex nor Eugene liked it, but they reluctantly agreed to leave. To that end, Alex climbed onto Plowhorn, and Eugene climbed onto Wu's saddle.
"Eugene, it'll be okay," said Jun.
"Don't even look at me," he said. "Keep your eyes pointed that way." Jun looked away from him, ashamed, but could help but pass a few glances, which he noticed. "Nope. Not even a glance."
They then took off.
Meanwhile, Feathers was completely lost in the snowstorm; she had just climbed down a hill when Webmaster slid down it and crashed into her. She glared at him, picked herself up, and went off alone.
However, she didn't get very far as the wind caught her wings, causing her to slide back towards Webmaster. She narrowed her eyes before picking herself up, then cloaked and reappeared about 20 feet away.
Webmaster looked disappointed, but he quickly caught up with her when they managed to find some shelter from the wind. Once there, Webmaster grabbed some firewood and lit it to create a small campfire.
Feathers looked at the campfire and into Webmaster and realised he was making it for her. She was reluctant to share the same space with him, but it was better than staying out in the cold. The two dragons sat beside the fire to stay warm, unaware that a large shadow was following.
The Dragon Riders had returned to the surface before curfew, but Alex couldn't sleep because she worried about Feathers. She tried to take a mind of a biplane with her tablet, but it wasn't working.
She then heard a knock on the window and assumed it was Tom.
"Kullersen," she grumbled.
She made her way to the window but was rather surprised to find it was not Tom but Eugene.
"Eugene?"
"Oh, uh… Hey," he said.
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked.
"I don't know. Just, uh… checking on you, I guess."
"Okay…" said Alex, rather surprised.
"They just thought you might be upset." He then looked at Alex, who gave him a sceptical look. "Like, I'm totally fine. Ha! You know, I'm not worried at all. But I was wondering, you know, how you're feeling. But if not, it's… Whatever. Cool. Uh, yeah."
He then walked away, clearly a bit upset.
"Hold on," said Alex.
She quickly checked to see that both the mums were fast asleep and joined Eugene outside.
"So, uh, chilly tonight, huh?" said Eugene.
"Yeah," said Alex, hugging her legs. "Just imagine how cold it is down there."
"If it was Wu and Wei or Thunder that was lost, you think we would've come racing back home?" Eugene asked.
"No way."
"I-It's like we don't even matter. Jun barely let me on the team."
"And I was the last one they told about dragons, and that's just because Feathers followed me home."
"I didn't even want to come here. Stuck in the wilderness with my sister."
"Crummy Wi-Fi running on windmill power." Alex then smiled. "But then I met Feathers."
"And I met Webmaster," Eugene nodded. "We have a bond. A real bond. He's my best friend."
"Yeah," Alex agreed, feeling the same way about Feathers.
"Ugh! I just feel so useless sitting around, doing nothing," said Eugene frustratingly.
"So let's stop being useless," said Alex and got to her feet.
Eugene looked at her, having a good idea of what she was planning. "Are you suggesting we…?"
"Yes," she said. "Unless you'd rather sit here and continue feeling sorry for ourselves?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," said Eugene, quickly getting to his feet. "I just got off provisional Rider status. I can't risk it!"
"If we don't have our dragons, we can't be Dragon Riders anyway," Alex pointed out.
"Huh. Hadn't thought of it that way," Eugene admitted. "Okay."
"Good. Let's go find our dragons," said Alex.
Feathers and Webmaster were currently getting some sleep near the campfire, but even with the fire, Feathers was still shivering. Webmaster noticed this and cuddled up next to her to keep her warm.
However, they were both woken up when they heard a distant growling sound, which was getting closer. Feathers then instantly closed both her and Webmaster, and they saw a shadow walking by, blowing up the campfire as it went by.
Tom, meanwhile, was sitting down at his, still feeling rather guilty about leaving Feathers and Webmaster behind. He looked at the puzzle box and knew his obsession with it caused this mess.
He began to examine it, trying to look at it from a different angle when suddenly Jun appeared by his window.
"Kullersen!" she said, making him jump. "Sorry."
"What's up?" Tom asked, opening his window.
"Are you okay? You look upset," she observed.
"I-I'm fine," he said. "I just… I'm not sure I made the right decision earlier."
"Well, I have even more bad news," said Jun. "Eugene is not in his room, and Alex isn't responding to texts."
"You don't think they would do something dumb like…?"
"We are talking about Eugene here."
Tom sighed. "We'd better grab James and D'Angelo and find them. Fast."
The two of them then dashed off.
At the same time, Eugene and Alex were speaking out on the town.
"Hold it," said Alex with her tablet beeped.
"What? The coast is clear!" said Eugene.
Alex then pointed up towards the security camera; quickly, they hid behind a bush.
"No way we can make it through there without Big Brother spotting us," said Eugene. "Pfft. Game over."
"No way, Wong," Alex smiled, cracking her fingers and then grabbed her tablet. "This game's just begun."
She hacked the security camera, causing it to look out beyond the town.
The security guard in charge didn't see anything out of the ordinary, only a sheep raising in the woods.
"Okay, good to go," said Alex.
"Wow!" said Eugene, stunned. "I wish I knew you in middle school. Would've saved me from a hundred detentions. Any chance you can use your nerd powers to fix my grades?"
"There aren't enough nerd power in the world for that," she said, shutting down the town's motion sensors. "Okay, let's hurry. We have to make sure that we…"
"You two! Hold it right there!" said a voice.
They saw a security guard approaching them on a quad bike.
"Urgh! We are so dead," Alex groaned.
"Just follow my lead," Eugene whispered.
"What are you doing out here at this hour?" the security guard asked.
"Wondering when you would finally get around doing your job!" said Eugene, marching up to him. "Isn't that right, Mrs Gonzalez?"
"A…ffirmative," said Alex.
"Yep. That's right…" Eugene nodded and looked at his nametag. "…Pete. We're out here conducting a surprise audit of ICARUS and Rakke Town operational security measures on behalf of my mother, Director May Wong."
"Nobody told me about a test," said Pete.
"Urgh! Hence the term 'surprise field test', genius."
"We patrol the perimeter every 20-30 minutes, so I don't know how that could possibly have happened."
"Can you believe he's questioning our independent analysis?" said Eugene, turning to look at Alex.
"Unbelievable," she nodded.
"Mrs Gonzalez, at this joker's ID number to that report. You know, in fact, scratch that—I'll call Director Wong directly."
"Wait, there's no need for that," said Pete as Eugene pulled out his phone. "I just… I lost track of time. It could happen to anyone. Please!"
"Director Wong can be pretty hard on slackers like you," said Eugene. "Ah, lucky for you, I'm a little more forgiving."
"Are you going soft?" Alex asked.
"Tell you what," said Eugene, looking at Pete. "I'll keep this between us if you promise to up your patrol game."
"Oh, thank you," said Pete, relieved.
"Oh, and, uh, Pete?" Eugene added before he drove off. "Life doesn't give us too many second chances. Don't waste this one."
He then drove off looking rather frantic.
Alex looked at Eugene, impressed. "You are quite the scam artist, Eugene!"
"Master scam artist," said Eugene proudly. "Don't undersell it."
They then began making their way to the sinkhole.
At the same time, Feathers and Webmaster were on the move, knowing that an unknown creature was chasing them. Making their way across the snow wasn't the easiest, as Feathers discovered after slipping on some snow.
The two of them then heard a distant growl and saw a shadow behind a tree. Webmaster then moved in to investigate, and when he saw the shadow again, he shot some fire at the tree it was hiding behind.
He then moved in to investigate further, and Feathers watched their back in case the creature snuck up behind. However, some frost then blasted Webmaster, and Feathers quickly rushed over to him only to be attacked by the creature.
Alex and Eugene had reached the sinkhole, but now they had to find a way to climb down it.
"We need a rope," said Alex.
"Ugh! I can totally climb this. No sweat," said Eugene confidently. "But we'll rope it just to be safe."
They managed to find a rope and lower themselves into the sinkhole, but sadly, the rope was far too short.
"We need a longer rope," said Alex as they dangled there.
"Come on, Gonzalez. Have some faith," said Eugene. "We've got this."
No sooner had he said that he lost his grip, he would have plummeted to his death if he hadn't been able to grab Alex's foot in time.
"This is harder than I thought!" Eugene admitted.
"Grab the wall," said Alex.
Eugene tried to reach for the wall, but it was too far away. "I'm trying!"
"Eugene, I'm losing my grip!"
"Hold on, Alex!"
"If we don't make it out of this, I-I just want you to know, you're not so bad. I'm really glad you joined the Dragon Riders."
"And even though I call you a super nerd behind your back, I always meant it in a good way. Like the kind of way that gets you rich off of apps and stuff, which I can respect."
"Thank you?" Alex frowned, not sure whether to take that as a compliment.
She then lost her grip, and the two began plummeting towards the ground. Thankfully, grabbing them in the nick of time was Wu and Wei.
"Good catch, Wu and Wei," Jun smiled.
"Pull 'em up!" Tom ordered.
To their relief, Wu and Wei lifted them out of the sinkhole. The two-headed dragon then placed both of them in front of the rest of the Dragon Riders and their dragons.
"Thanks for the assist, but, uh, we totally had that," said Eugene, brushing himself down.
"Could have fooled us." Said James, folding his arms.
"This is a direct violation of multiple conduct coats," D'Angelo scolded. "And what did you say to Pete? I've never seen that guy work so hard."
"Seriously, what were you thinking, Eugene?" Jun glared.
"Somebody had to step up and rescue Webmaster and Feathers!" Eugene argued. "None of you have the guts to do it!"
"How could you be such an idiot?" Jun groaned. "You put Alex in danger!"
"Hold it right there," Alex scolded. "This whole thing was my idea."
Everyone just stared at her with blank looks.
"Yeah, that's right," Alex nodded.
"So watch who you're calling an idiot, idiot," said Eugene.
"Look, we agreed," said Tom.
"No! We didn't agree," Alex snapped.
"You guys just decided for us," Eugene nodded.
"Yeah, it's like all you cared about was getting home on time."
"Well, there are rules about coming home late." D'Angelo pointed out, and Alex immediately glared at him. "Okay."
"You're right. You're right," Tom agreed. "The truth is, I knew I messed up by keeping us out of there too long searching for the dragon box key. And when I saw how bad the storm had gotten…"
"You wanted to make sure we all got home back okay," said Alex.
"Yeah," Tom nodded. "Yeah, but I didn't look at the problem from every angle."
"I guess that makes sense—on some level," said Eugene.
"So, let's make it right and go find Feathers and Webmaster," said Tom. "As a team."
"There are still rules, Kullersen," D'Angelo pointed out.
"Rules about getting home late," said Tom. "But there aren't any rules about leaving too early."
Alex and Eugene smiled at that.
The Dragon Riders entered the Ice Realm and searched for feathers and Webmaster. Thankfully, the storm had stopped so that they could do a proper search, and Plowhorn smelt something.
"What you got, girl?" Alex asked.
Plowhorn then flew down towards the ground, and everyone followed. They landed in the small gorge they saw a small campfire.
"This was definitely Webs!" said Eugene.
"It's still smoking, so it was made recently," James observed.
"Look at this," said Jun.
They made their way over to her and saw a trail of footprints
"It's like the ones we saw in the cave," said Jun.
"Then we know where to look," said Tom.
Feathers and Webmaster were inside the cave, and their feet were completely frozen. They struggled to free themselves, with the ice was just too strong, and they could get the proper leverage, and Webmaster was out of fire. Feathers then saw some dragon bones nearby, and she felt that the two of them would be joining them pretty soon.
They then heard a roar coming from a nearby cave, and emerging from it was the creature that had been stalking them. Feathers tried to push the creature back with her sonic blast, but it was able to withstand the attack and continued to advance towards them.
Meanwhile, the Dragon Riders had reached the cave, and Jun found burn marks on some rocks.
"Look at these," she said.
"Those are from Webs!" said Eugene.
"He was blasting something," said Jun.
"Whatever happened here, it wasn't good," said Tom.
They then heard a distant screech coming from the cave.
"That's Feathers!" Jun gasped.
They then heard a second roar, which wasn't as familiar.
"And something else!" said D'Angelo.
"Let's go!" said Tom, quickly dashed towards the cave.
They quickly enter the cave and enter the first chamber.
"Yo! Webs! Where are you at?" Eugene called.
"There they are!" Alex pointed.
Sure enough, they saw the two dragons, but both of them were mobilised by ice. Unfortunately, they weren't alone as with them was another dragon, and not a very friendly one.
It was a large, pure white, four-legged dragon. It had strange antler-like horns covering the front portion of its head and snout. Its wings were extremely large and had dual claws, but the thing most noticeable was that it had thick white fur on its wings.
"It is a yeti!" said Jun excitedly.
Tom and James narrowed their eyes at her.
"Okay, it's not a yeti, but I bet that's where the myth about yetis came from," she said.
"Can we worry about that later?" Alex asked, running past her.
"Seriously! It's trying to eat our dragons!" Eugene pointed out.
Feathers fired another blast at the Yetiwing, but it used its fur-covered wings to muffle the attack.
"Feathers!" Alex cried.
"We'll distract him. You guys say the dragons," said Tom as he mounted Thunder. "You ready for this, Pal?"
Thunder nodded, and they quickly flew straight at the Yetiwing and fired a lightning blast at its feet. The attack did the trick, turning its focus away from Feathers and Webmaster and towards them.
"Feathers!" Alex cried joyously, rushing over to her dragon and hugging her.
"Webs!" Eugene yelled, doing the same thing. "Oh, good to see you, Webs!"
"Wei, quick! Melt the ice to free Feathers and Webmaster!" Jun ordered.
The two-headed dragon made their way over to Feathers and Webmaster. Wei then used his steam blast to melt the ice at their feet, freeing them.
They then looked up and saw that the Yetiwing was relentlessly chasing after Tom and Thunder. They tried using the surroundings to their advantage, zigzagging through the ice, but the Yetiwing fired an ice blast as they flew up towards the ceiling and hit them.
The blast was strong enough to knock Tom off Thunder's back, and the two hit the ground hard.
"Tom!" Jun cried.
"We got him!" said Eugene and quickly took off.
The Yetiwing began approaching Tom and Thunder when Eugene and Webmaster blocked its path. Webmaster then quickly fired a blast at it, catching it off guard.
"Get up, Kullersen," said Eugene looking at him. "This is no time for a nap."
"Eugene, look out!" Tom pointed.
Eugene turned and saw that the Yetiwing had recovered from the surprise attack. It was about to attack when Jun swooped in on Wu, and Wei unleashed their combined ice and steam blast, creating a smokescreen.
"All right, time to go!" she said.
"No argument from me," said Eugene.
"Let's go home, Feathers," said Alex.
They all quickly took to the air and returned to the cave entrance.
The Yetiwing finally managed to blow away the fog and saw they were escaping. It then flew up towards the ceiling and slammed into it, causing the entire cavern to shake.
"He's trying to collapse the cave!" said Jun.
"And it looks like he's succeeding," said James.
The Yetiwing continued slamming itself into the walls of the cavern.
"Everyone out, now!" Tom ordered.
Both Plowhorn and Blade led the way, smashing through the following boulders or cutting them to pieces. They were able to carve a path straight towards the tunnel and quickly flew outside to safety.
They then returned to the Lair, where Alex and Eugene were pleased to be reunited with their dragons. Additionally, Feathers was now much friendlier with Webmaster, nuzzling him.
"It's good to have you back, Webs!" Eugene chuckled and then patted Feathers. "You too, Feathers."
"Ah! Someone warming up to both of you," Alex noticed.
"Yeah. We crushed it, Gonzo," said Eugene, making a popping sound with his tongue.
"Great… Looks like Eugene's caught Alex in his web of deception," said Jun.
"Or maybe this is a start of a kind, gently Eugene," said Tom optimistically. "People can change."
"Yo, I think Plowhorn's about to fall asleep," Eugene noticed and looked at Webmaster. "Who wants to go Plow tipping?"
He snickered and turned back to face Plowhorn but came face-to-face with D'Angelo, who narrowed his eyes and folded his arms.
"Don't even think about it," he said.
Eugene laughed nervously. "I was just kidding, Big D."
"You were saying?" Jun smirked.
"Okay, okay, you're right," said Tom. "Eugene is still Eugene. I'm just glad we got everyone back home safe."
"Yeah, but the next time a snowstorm is about to land on top of us, let's just book it instead of hanging around," James advised.
The Dragon Riders then made their way back home, and when he was home, Tom instantly made his way to his desk to look at the puzzle box.
"Well, definitely looked at this thing from every angle," he said. "Maybe you're just not meant to be opened."
Tom then placed his feet on his desk, accidentally knocking his Viking helmet onto the floor, causing one of the horns to break off.
"Oh, man, I broke…" said Tom, but stopped when he saw something on the base of the horn. He grabbed it, looked at it more closely, and couldn't believe his eyes. "Whoa! It can't be!"
He brought the broken horn closer to the puzzle box and engraved the dragon mark on its base. He instantly turned on his lamp and inserted the horn into the puzzle box, and with one good twist, it opened. He lifted the lid and saw inside a book with the dragon mark on it.
