Clark and Elena emerged from the Fortress feeling like different people. The steel-blue suit, which had once belonged to a distant ancestor, fit Clark perfectly. The crest of the House of El was emblazoned in crimson upon his broad chest. A gust of Arctic wind lifted the red cape that now flowed from his shoulders. The colorful outfit was like nothing he had ever worn before, but felt natural upon his frame.
Elena donned the same steel-blue suit as her brother. Her suit consisted of a royal blue section resembling her brother's costume on the lower half of her person, while a dark red section covered her chest with a gold trim. She wears matching blue long-sleeves with fingerless gloves. Much like her twin she also has the crest of the House of El emblazoned in crimson upon her chest, and had a golden strap wrapped around her waist. The arctic gust of wind lifted her red cape as it flowed from her shoulders.
The pair stopped and stood framed beneath the arched entrance of the spacecraft. The ship was lit from behind by the bright interior lights. The incandescent glow cast their shadows across the snowy mountain peak. Jor-El's voice echoed in Clark's memory as he lifted his eyes to the clear blue polar sky. As it did, he recalled his own urgent questions.
Why are we so different from them?
Earth's sun is younger, brighter than Krypton's was. Your cells have drunk its radiation, strengthening your muscles, your skin, your senses. Earth's gravity is weaker, its atmosphere more nourishing. You've grown stronger here than I ever could have imagined. The only way to know how strong you are is to keep testing your limits.
Clark and Elena turned toward the sun. They felt its light and heat upon their faces. He looked out across the desolate mountain range, full of dramatic peaks and crevasses. The looming mountains made the giant oil rig seem like a kid's climbing gym, by comparison. An icy ledge ended in a steep precipice several yards away. A matching ledge rose up again in the distance.
The twins turned their gazes towards each other. Their eyes met for a brief moment before nodding their heads, almost as if they were thinking the same thing. The pair took a deep breath to steel themselves.
The two kryptonians of steel ran toward the ledge and leapt over the gaping chasm. Throwing caution to the windâ"and possibly themselves, they landed on the other side in a single bound. Clark's heart was filled with exhilaration and he repeated the feat, again and again, each leap propelling him higher and higher, until he was practically flying.
Through each leap Elena's smile grew wide. Her heart filled with exhilaration as she raced after her brother, leaping herself high in the air to match his speed. But they were just getting warmed up. Almost flying wasn't good enough, not any more. Balling their fists, the duo threw their arms out in front of them and launched themselves up, up, and away—into the open air.
Despite Clark's enthusiasm, it was an ungainly flight. Screaming out loud, like a passenger on a roller coaster, he and Elena corkscrewed through the sky, losing control. Powerful wind currents buffeted him. It didn't take long for he and his sister to lose altitude.
They will race behind you. They will stumble. They will fall.
A snowy slope seemed to rush up to meet them. They crashed into the side of a mountain, setting off an avalanche. Their bodies bounced and skidded across the rocky ground and over gaping crevasses. Momentum carried them for miles. Unlucky boulders were pulverized by the impact.
Finally he and his sister came to rest at the bottom of a freshly carved crater. The ravaged mountainside looked as though a meteor had hit it. Wincing, they rose to their feet and brushed off the snow and powdered stone dusting their skin and uniform. A quick inspection revealed that the Kryptonian skinsuit was just as durable as Jor-El had promisedâ"their crash landing hadn't even scratched it, so that it appeared good as new. Even the flowing red cape was still in one piece.
"You okay?" Clark asked, turning his gaze towards Elena. Elena glanced at her brother and smiled.
Clark didn't have to ask her this. He knew that she knew that the two of them are extraordinarily powerful; nothing can hurt them. But out of pure love and genuine concern for his sister, he asked her a question. But Elena didn't mind this. The two of them are close after all.
"Yeah, I'm okay," Elena replied with a nod.
Clark briefly smiled in relief at his sister before turning his eyes skyward once more. Elena looked in the same direction as her brother, both of them drawing strength from the golden daylight. Then, without hesitation, they hurled themselves back into the sky. Ice and rock shattered beneath the force of his leap.
But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal, Dara. In time, you two will help them accomplish wonders.
The last son and daughter of Krypton soared above their adopted world, higher than any bird or plane. Slowly getting the hang of it, the pair flew smoothly through the sky, gazing in awe at the Arctic wilderness that now lay so very far below. For perhaps the first time, they felt comfortable using their unique abilities, as though they were finally doing what they were always meant to.
Tears stung Clark's eyes. No longer earthbound, he and his sister jetted across the planet at more than supersonic speed. They could go anywhere now, do anything, be anyone.
Even a Superman. No, not just Superman.
Superman and Superwoman.
Elena suddenly laughed joyously. Never in her life did she ever think that her first experience in the air would be this wonderful. A smile graced her lips as she experienced flight, the exhilaration that came after feeling the rush of wind. Happy tears were beginning to fly off of her face, and Clark smiled at her.
The pair left the barren polar region behind. Zipping across the ocean to Kenya, where they cruised above a grassy savannah, barnstorming a herd of stampeding zebras. The duo whooped in delight as the hot African sun filled them with speed and energy. The two kryptonians waved good-bye to the animals as they rocketed back up into the jet stream, heading west toward America.
Miles sped by in seconds. A cool ocean spray pelted their faces as Clark and Elena skimmed across the Atlanticâ"by focusing, they could allow themselves to feel it, to enjoy it. The salty air was fresh and invigorating, adding to their exuberance.
Clark chuckled a little. If only his friends, the humpback whales—not to the mention the captain and crew of the Debbie Sue—could see him now! They would be losing their minds!
Clark and Elena reached North America faster than any commercial jet. They took an aerial tour of Monument Valley, Utah. Testing themselves, the pair wove through the rusty limestone buttes and mesas jutting up from the desert floor. Clark's fist stretched out in front to control his flight, he banked and rolled like a fighter jet. He took a corner too quickly and clipped the edge of a towering rock formation, sending a loose boulder plummeting toward the cacti that grew on the desert floor.
Clark blinked in surprise upon acknowledging his mistake. He dived after the dislodged rock, catching it with one hand before it hit the ground. He placed it safely on top of a convenient mesa before continuing on his way, climbing higher and higher into the sky with his sister speeding besides him.
Elena pulled her arms back to her sides. Her cape flapped behind her as she soared, and the wind whipped her long black curly hair back. A thick layer of clouds hung before her and her brother, but they punched through the misty barrier and emerged into the sunlight.
The bright, yellow sunlight.
A/N: Hope all you young readers enjoy this one shot trailer. Like many other fans from all around the world, I've been a fan of Superman since I was a child. I grew up with the Superman: Returns movie when I was little, and when I got older my love for him grew exponentially when I saw Henry Cavil's movie: Man of Steel. That was my favorite Superman by far, and I'm sure many others can agree. When I saw Henry Cavil returned in the movie Black Adam I was over the moon of the news and joy that we might get a sequel for Man of Steel!
That is until Henry Cavil was removed from the DC Universe.
Along with the cancellation of Man of Steel 2.
I was crushed over the news. But I was also livid because I didn't understand the point of bringing Mr. Cavil in the big screen, only for him to get fired long after. Not long after that, I learned they were rebooting the DC Universe and were already in the works of making another Superman movie. In case you're wondering, yes, I've already seen the reveal of Superman's suit.
To keep it short: I don't know how to feel about it.
The suit alone looks like a designer who makes costumes for cosplayers made it. Now I don't want to say too much since the movie isn't out yet; once it released in theaters I'll give it watch and see what they have planned. But at the same time I'm keeping my expectations low. Very low. But let me know what you guys think of the reveal of Superman's suit. Now, back at this story.
As you all have read in this one shot, Clark Kent/Superman is based off from the Superman from Man of Steel. But in this alternate universe, he transported to earth with his twin sister by the earth name of Elena Kent. As for her kryptonian name, it's Dara Lor-Van. Much like her mother, she inherited her intelligence, her genuine kindness that could make a toddler cry, and most of all her beauty.
What you all have read is but a glimpse of a potential series that may come in the near future. Although I don't have a title for it but I'll think about it at a later time. When it will be officially published? Only time will tell. But with all of that said, I'll be taking my leave now. See you all later.
