This is a present for my friend BrainyxBat, happy birthday! I hope you had a great day. This story features her OC Venus and everyone's favorite hero, Wasabi.

Wesley "Wasabi" Ginger walked through life in a perpetual state of anxiety but today of all days he was feeling eerily calm. It didn't make sense that today, potentially the most important day of his life, would be the day his nerves vanished but he was grateful for the clear head.

It was certainly convenient that he was achieving inner peace now, as he'd ruined plenty of surprises in the past out of the worry that his plans would fail. But, on such a momentous occasion, his long time girlfriend Catherine "Venus" Woods didn't suspect a thing.

Maybe that was what brought him the most peace, the fact that of all his plans he knew this was the least likely to fail. Even if a thousand things went wrong with the evening, he was going to propose and he knew that she was going to say yes.

They'd talked about it at length over the past few years, their mutual dream of settling down after college and one day starting a family.

Venus had just graduated, so she had no reason to suspect that this was anything other than a graduation celebration. It just happened to work out that her favorite Disney Princess movie (The Little Mermaid) was playing at their favorite theater. She definitely didn't know that Wasabi had arranged the whole thing.

Their friends and family (minus the bad apples) all joined them at the theater, and each co-conspirator kept shooting Wasabi glances, trying to clock his nerves. Each of them were surprised to see that he looked positively serene.

His brothers, Damon and Khary, were the most surprised to see how confident and focused Wasabi looked, whispering to each other as they speculated on the cause of calmness.

Damon, who was the oldest and was already married, figured it out much quicker than Khary who was the youngest and had only been in love when he played a character on stage.

"They love each other," Damon whispered.

"I could have told you that." Khary had lived with Wasabi and Venus for a bit until he had graduated high school and found his own place in the city.

"Yeah, but it's more than that. He knows she's the one. Nothing could change that, so he has nothing to worry about."

"Ohhhh." With that realization, Khary settled in to watch the fairy tale unfold.

At first the evening went as Venus was expecting. They watched Ariel fall in love, taking a few breaks to make out mid movie. Mostly they watched and snuggled, Wasabi's arm wrapped securely around his soulmate.

Then the credits started to roll and Wasabi abruptly stood up. "I need to make an announcement."

That was when Venus noticed two things. The first was that the only people in the theater were their friends and family, the second was that her public speaking-averse boyfriend seemed completely in his element.

"Venus, I don't know how many times I've watched The Little Mermaid with you. And every time we watch Ariel and Eric get their happily ever after I think about how excited I am to have that with you. I don't want to wait anymore for our fairy tale. Catherine Woods, will you marry me?" He knelt in front of her as he spoke those words, pulling out a little box with a gorgeous engagement ring inside.

Venus gasped in shock, her eyes already filling up with tears. For a moment she looked around to be sure that this was real. She saw her mom and dad nodding encouragingly and the rest of their friends giving thumbs up.

Then her eyes fell on Wasabi and everyone else in the theater stopped existing. It was just her and Wasabi and their fairytale ending.

She launched into his arms and hugged him tightly. "Yes, yes, yes, of course I'll marry you. I've known since we met that you were my Prince Charming."

Wasabi beamed and held her close. His nerves would reappear in the morning when he realized they had a wedding to plan, but for tonight he was perfectly at peace in Venus' arms.
