"Man! The shit I do for the country." In front of the gate of the Temple at Mt Wutai stood a middle-aged Japanese man. Youji Itami considered himself a patriot. After all, most people wouldn't be in the army for as long as he had been without being a patriot. That said, sometimes even he felt that the higher-ups in the military made him do crazy things in the name of patriotism.

Currently, Itami was in the Great Asian Alliance, a country that had been at war with his nation a few years ago. After Dahan was scorched by the mysterious magician, Japan entered a truce with the GAA to stop any further aggression between the two. That said, not many people from either country were stupid enough to enter the other territory. So why was a high-ranking military officer like him in hostile territory, you ask? Well, the wild goose chase that the Japanese as well as the USNA military had been having had a new lead to follow.

The mysterious magician that they had been looking for had been sighted on multiple occasions, entering various Buddhist Monasteries across the city of Chiba and the military had been quick on the uptake. After gathering information from the various monks that Maheshwara had met, they concluded that he was looking to find the source of a mysterious box. One of the monks who had testified informed them that he had told Maheshwara to go to the temple at the top of Mt Wutai, which was their next target.

Since Itami was the most ordinary-looking person among his squad (Shino was way too good-looking and John stood out like a sore thumb as a foreigner), he was tasked with flying to China to collect information. It had taken almost a month for him to be granted a visiting permit and he had boarded a flight as soon as possible. Apparently, the GAA had been under lockdown due to a theft case in which an unknown entity had stolen almost 250 million Yuan from a few banks. The stolen notes had been traced to a jade market in Mt Tai where the thief had purchased a huge quantity of jade. They had strict regulations for transporting goods to the outside world to try and track down the culprit. Even though the thief had yet to be caught, the country was opened up to prevent any lasting economic damage.

"Excuse me. Can I ask you a few questions?" Itami asked a young monk who was passing by in fluent Mandarin. He had learned Chinese as a part of his extra training in the military and it came in handy.

"How can I help you?" The young monk, true to his profession, gave a calm smile as he halted and faced him.

"Did a strange gentleman who looked like he was cloaked in darkness ever visit this monastery within the past month? I know that it is a strange question to ask but it is very important that I know the answer."

"He did. I was the one who welcomed that person when he visited. If I remember correctly, that gentleman had a box that was created in our temple with him and wanted to find out more about it."

"What was in that box? I mean, if you don't mind answering that is."

"I wouldn't know. Lord Abbott was the one who dealt with him. If you want to know more, you need to talk to him." The young monk said.

"Then, could you ask the Abbott whether he will be willing to see me? It is very important after all." Itami was well aware that the Abbott of a temple was not someone who could be met without proper permission.

"Please wait here. I will ask."

After a while of waiting, the young monk came back. "The Abbott will see you now. Please come with me."

They walked towards the innermost part of the temple where he came face to face with an old man who was well over the age of one hundred.

"This one greets the Abbott." Itami might not have been a religious person but the man in front of him had an aura that commanded respect. He gave a good bow to the Abbott as he stood in front of him.

"You may leave now." The Abbott let the young monk go. After he was gone, the Abbott turned towards him and asked in Japanese. "How can I help you today, Itami Youji-kun?"

"You know my name, sir? How?"

"Let's just say, I have friends in Japan that know a lot of things. I already know why you are here. You are the second person to visit me this month with the same purpose and I will give you the same answer that I gave him. I will not tell you what 'Maheshwara' asked me. That is a secret between me and him that I will take with me to the next life." The Abbott was calm as he said this.

"That is regrettable, sir. But I can understand that eminent figures such as yourself need to have secrets of your own. If it isn't too much, might I ask you who the other person who visited you is?"

"Kuroba Juuzou. The Yotsuba has been on the same trail that you have been following for quite some time now. That said, I highly doubt you will be finding anything for a while. If that is all, would you like to join us for lunch before leaving?" It was another failure for them but he had at least gained some information from this trip. So, it wasn't a complete failure. After having lunch with the monks which was very little food for his appetite, he left the monastery and returned to the hotel that he was staying at.

"Sergeant Kuribayashi, are you there?" Since he could not use mobile devices to communicate military information, Itami was currently using a radio device that operated under an encrypted wavelength. The fact that he was addressing Shino by her rank showed that it was important info.

"Yes, Lieutenant." The voice on the other end was crisp.

"I have done the reconnaissance and the results are disappointing. While our information about Maheshwara visiting this place was accurate, the Abbott is not willing to provide any further information about his purpose. However, I was informed that the Yotsuba have contacted the Abbott as well which means that they are in the same boat as us. Please inform the higher-ups about this as soon as possible. I will board a flight back home as soon as possible. Over."

"Roger that Lieutenant. Please return safely. Over." With that, their conversation was completed.

Tatsuya had been relatively free after the results of the first semester exams had been announced. Even though the school had been busy setting up the grounds for the tournament, Tatsuya was not called to help since he was a contestant as well. The groups for the tournament had been announced and there weren't any notable names in his own group with one exception.

Tatsuya wasn't very familiar with Anna Rosen Katori aside from the skirmish he had with the Kendo and Kenjutsu Clubs. Even then, he had done very little except subdue the rogue members before letting Miya handle the fallout. As far as he knew both clubs were penalized by reducing their proposed share of the budget and that was the end of it.

'To think that I will have to fight Erika's mother in a battle. Who would have thought?' Tatsuya said to himself amusedly. Although Tatsuya was friends with Erika, he knew that the red-headed girl had always wanted to face him in battle at least once after the events of the terrorist attack on First High. To think that her mother, who looked a lot like her, would get the chance, was perhaps the irony of fate.

As Tatsuya was lazing around the house, having nothing to do for the moment with his parents out on a date, he was surprised to hear the bell ring. Compared to his previous life, Tatsuya rarely kept Elemental Sight active when he was in his home since he was nothing more than an average high school student now. Therefore, he was genuinely surprised to see Miya standing in front of his front door as he opened it. He looked behind her and saw the same two bodyguards who had accompanied him on his date with Maya, standing there giving him dirty looks.

"Miya-san? This is quite a surprise. How might I help you?" He genuinely asked.

"Aren't you going to invite me in, Tatsuya-san? Where are your manners?" Miya's manner of addressing him had changed for some reason.

"Please come in, then. Also, aren't they coming?" Tatsuya said, pointing towards the two amused bodyguards.

"They will stand guard outside. Now please excuse me." Miya said as she made her way inside.

"Would you like something to drink, Miya-san?" Tatsuya asked the girl who had made the sofa of his living room, her own.

"Some juice would be wonderful." She replied. If he was being honest, Tatsuya had no idea how to deal with Miya as of now. After all, the woman that he had called mistress for fourteen years and the girl in front of him were completely different people. He prepared the juice as asked and gave it to the girl who took it from him.

"Thank you." Miya said before drinking the juice.

"Can I ask you why you are here, Miya-san?" Tatsuya took a seat opposite to Miya

"Do I need a reason to visit you, Tatsuya-san? After all, you are a potential candidate to be my fiancé, are you not?" She said, playfully which threw Tatsuya completely off. He could deal with a serious Miya and a playful Maya quite fine but a playful Miya was a completely different beast.

"From the limited interaction that we've had, I judged that you are not the type of person to do pointless things, Miya-san." Tatsuya said honestly.

"Who said that this is pointless? I am having a conversation with my potential husband to understand him better. I would say that it is not pointless."

"I see."

"You went on a date with Maya the other week, did you not?"

"I will not deny that."

"Something happened between you two, during that date." Miya wasn't asking, she was making a statement.

"How did you know? Did Maya-san tell you?" Tatsuya asked.

"She didn't but it wasn't too hard to figure out. That girl has been bouncing around for the past week. It would be strange if nothing happened." She concluded.

"I see."

"Anyways, take me to your amazing CAD workshop, Tatsuya-san. Let me see how a genius like yourself works."

"What workshop?" Tatsuya pretended to be confused. There was no possible way that she could have known about his basement workshop, not with 'Charade' active at all times.

"It is a little too late to pretend, Tatsuya-san, your mother has already told me everything."

"What?!" 'But that's impossible!' was what he wanted to say but he managed to keep it in.

"She is really proud of you, you know. Once I got past her initial defense, she couldn't stop praising her son who built his own CAD from scratch out of scrap." Miya explained in a matter-of-fact tone and Tatsuya was sweating. Although he was aware of the fact that his mother was a weak point when it came to hiding his skills, he knew her well enough to know that she wouldn't tell on him under any circumstance.

"I suppose you have won this round, Miya-san." Tatsuya sighed as he deactivated 'Charade' in the basement that he had installed using his automatic casting system. One of his secrets might have been out but that didn't mean that he had to give up the others as well.

He guided Miya to the basement where his CAD testing devices were sitting. Even the Trident was on display as he did not expect the intrusion.

"A Bed-Type Tuner, one that is nothing like the products currently on the market. So, it is true that you built this right, Tatsuya-san?" Miya gave a judgment at first glance which was quite impressive.

"Yes." Knowing full well that he was defeated, Tatsuya nodded.

"That is beyond impressive and borderline insane. How did you manage to pull that off?" Miya asked, curious.

"I am very good at analyzing machines. I just reworked a tuner that I had found in the junkyard." He said, trying to be as vague as possible.

"A safe answer. I suppose I will get the full truth later. For now, I will accept it." Miya smiled. For some reason, he had seen her smile more today than he had in the fourteen years of his previous life, combined. The girl turned her attention to the measuring devices as well as the other support apparatus in the room. Tatsuya knew that every single device in this room far exceeded the current generation of devices by multiple decades and someone like Miya could tell.

"This is a Generalized CAD, is it not?" Miya had gotten her hands on the Trident. Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that 'Charade' had masked the looks of the Trident when he was in his Maheshwara guise, Tatsuya would have been sweating bullets by now.

"But it is built to be like a Specialized CAD. Common sense dictates that such a thing is impossible" Miya had a weird aura around her after she had entered the workshop. She looked satisfied for some odd reason.

"Tatsuya-san?" Miya's question brought him back to reality.

"Yes?"

"Did you create everything in here?" She was oddly serious.

"Yes." He accepted his fate.

"Wonderful." For the first time in his two lives, Shiba Tatsuya saw Yotsuba Miya smile. It was not a small smile like the ones she had been showing earlier but a full smile that came from the heart. At that moment, Tatsuya was reminded that Miya was, in fact, a transcendent beauty in her own right. He had subconsciously been ignoring this all this time due to his experiences with the Miya of his past life but that smile blew such thoughts away.

"Here, Tatsuya-san, catch." Tatsuya was completely caught off-guard when Miya threw a small object his way. He had caught it by reflex and upon careful scrutiny, he realized that it was her CAD.

"Tune this for me, Tatsuya." The honorifics were gone.

"But this is tuned perfectly. You tuned it yourself, right?" Tatsuya asked.

"But that is only based on my standards, right? I know that you can tune it to be better." She stated.

"But this device is truly tuned to be as perfect as possible." It was the truth, at least based on the current state of the device's Induction Stone.

"Then do whatever that you did to make it as good as yours." Miya said, resting both her hands on her hips, and looked like she was ordering him.

"Fine." Tatsuya said, accepting his loss.

"Don't you need to take my Psion measurements?" Miya asked.

"There's no need for that right now. After all, what I am going to do is to improve the device itself. The spells will not be affected." Tatsuya said, putting the device for scanning. Since his reconstruction of the Induction stone relied heavily on the usage of Decomposition, he tried to hide it from Miya as much as possible. Since she did not have the Elemental sight, it was not that hard to accomplish.

Reconstructing the entire device took him about an hour to be finished. The CAD was now as good as the high-end CADs of his time albeit not the best. But then again, it was already overkill in this current world. Tatsuya could already feel the headaches that would be caused by his actions coming.

"That should be it." Tatsuya said as he handed over the CAD to Miya who had been keenly watching the entire process near him.

"Thank you, Tatsuya." She said as she took the CAD from his hand. After she did a few tests, she looked satisfied. "The only thing I just realized is that I am completely outclassed." Miya said happily.

Miya spent the next hour grilling him with questions about why he wasn't using the Trident at school, why he was hiding his skills, etc… After he pointed out that it was already evening, Miya finally agreed to leave. He escorted her to the front of the house. Before she opened the door to leave, Miya turned around.

"Tatsuya." She said in an uncharacteristically sweet voice.

"Yes, Miya-san?"

"You do realize that I have no intention to lose, right?"

"What are you-?" Tatsuya's question was cut short as for the second time in recent history, his lips overlapped with that of a beautiful girl. Unlike the one with Maya, which was nothing more than a small peck, this one was a real kiss. Miya leaned into him and caught his shirt in her hands and pulled him down while she was at it. Tatsuya, for his part, was too shocked to do anything. After a while, Miya separated from him and as she left, she said, "Now you know."

As she made her way to her home, Yotsuba Miya giggled uncharacteristically. When her grandmother had informed her of the extent of Tatsuya's handiwork of Ichihana'a CAD, Miya was already sure that the man was what she was looking for. She was also well aware that he wouldn't spill his secrets even if she tried her best. So, she had turned her attention to Tatsuya's one weak point, his mother.

Miya liked Shiba Mayuri. The woman might not have had an ounce of magical talent but she reminded her of her own mother. In her opinion, it was easy to get along with her future mother-in-law. Getting past her guard was easy for someone like her who had been trained in Mental Interference Magic since she was a child. Make no mistake, she did not use a single spell on Mayuri, her closeness to her was completely natural. Once she realized that Miya was not a threat to Tatsuya, Mayuri was more than willing to spill his secrets. Miya obviously had no desire to use the secrets that she had learned to hurt Tatsuya, but that didn't mean that she couldn't use them for her own benefit.

She knew that compared to Maya, who had amazing people skills, she was a bit lacking in building interpersonal relationships. After all, a genius like her could rarely speak to other people on even footing. She also knew that something had happened between Maya and Tatsuya in the past week. Therefore, if she didn't take action, chances were that she would outright lose to her twin. Miya didn't mind losing things to Maya, after all, they were sisters and sisters should share but this was not something she could lose without a fight.

So, when she visited the Shiba Household, she wanted to analyze the extent of Tatsuya's genius to see how she stacked up against him and whether Mayuri-san was exaggerating or not. To say that her expectations were blown away, would be an understatement. The devices in that tiny little basement, smaller than the bathrooms at the Yotsuba Mansion might as well have come from the future with how advanced they were. She had not been kidding when she asked Tatsuya if he needed to take her measurements to improve her CAD, she was fully ready to bare it all to the monster standing in front of her. The CAD that he had made for her was something that outclassed her previous CAD by unbelievable margins. Her CAD had a minimum activation speed of 400ms before and after Tatsuya tuned it, that speed had jumped to almost 190ms if her calculations were correct.

Now, she wasn't able to activate magic that quickly but with practice, she could come really close and she knew it. The kiss she had given him was impulsive but it carried her real feelings. After all, there stood a man in front of her that towered over her in everything. As a magician and as a woman, there wasn't anything more she could ask for. If that meant fighting her sister, so be it.

"Miya, how did your little date go?" Like always, Yasuyou was waiting for her daughter to return.

"It was great." Miya said happily before going to her room.

"Perhaps I should have a talk with Tatsuya-kun about two-timing." Yasuyou said to no one in particular with a small smile.

'What is going on with me?' While the Yotsuba twins were having a great night's sleep, Tatsuya was having a sleepless night for the first time in his life. It was something that he had ignored until now but Tatsuya knew that his current body was a bit weird as compared to his past body. After all, he subconsciously did things that made no logical sense for him to do. Even today, when Miya had kissed him, he could have dodged her easily before she could touch him but for some unknown reason, he was rooted on the spot and couldn't move. Even before that, he could have easily avoided showing Miya his workroom by lying. It would have angered the girl but the outcome was desirable. Yet for some reason, he couldn't do it. Not after he saw her smile. Ignoring the tingling feeling in his chest, Tatsuya tried to get some sleep by closing his eyes.

'If I were to marry one of them, can it be considered incest?' He thought for a moment before reeling in himself. It was going to be a long night for him.

Hello everyone. This chapter is a bit longer than expected but it was easy to write since it just flowed quite nicely in my head.

Anyway, I know that Fuujin of Shadows has his Miya be bisexual and I have no idea if that is canon or not but I decided to try a different spin on her character. After all, a cheery Miya is rare to see in fics. Hope you like it and if you don't feel free to say so.

Also, can someone tell me the Canonical names of Saegusa Koichi's two wives? I can't find it anywhere. If possible, just give me all the parent names of the main cast that you know cause the wiki is pretty barren when it comes to this.

See ya soon then.
