Flynn and Rapunzel, they hit the tunnel, which leads to an exit on the other side of the Snuggly Duckling, and they started talking.
"Well, I've gotta say. Didn't know you had that in you back there, that was pretty… impressive." Said Flynn. "I know! I Know." Rapunzel replied still excited, then calmed down. "So… Flynn. Where you from?" Intrigued Rapunzel, "Whoa, whoa, sorry blondie, I don't do back-story. (whispering) Also because I don't even know it. (went back to talk to Rapunzel) However, I am becoming very interested in yours." He replied. "Now I… I know I'm not to mention the hair."
"Nope." Rapunzel replied.
"Or the Mother." Flynn continued.
Rapunzel snorted. "Uh, uh."
"Frankly I'm too scared to ask about the frog."
"Chameleon." Rapunzel ran him.
"Nuance. Here's my question, though, if you want to see the lanterns so badly, why haven't you gone before?" He asked her.
Rapunzel's eyes widened to the question, but before he could explain, the ground began to shake and from the depths the guards emerged. The two escaped and the tunnel led them to a dam. Rapunzel used her hair to get to a ledge, while Flynn fought with the guards and Maximus. Soon after, Rapunzel picks him up and takes him to the other side, while Maximus kicks against a beam, breaking the dam and causing a huge flood that hits everyone.
Rapunzel and Flynn try to overcome the wave and hid in a small cave, whose entrance was blocked by a falling rock. The water slowly filled the cave when they realized that it is a dead end and there is no escape. While they think they are dying, Rapunzel cried and apologized to Flynn for dragging him into this.
"Eugene."
Rapunzel stopped, looking at him through a stream of tears. "What?"
"My real name is Eugene Fitzherbert, and I don't know where I come from because I have no memory of my first six years of life." He admitted. "So, you might as well know."
Rapunzel remained silent for a moment; a small smile formed on her lips. "I have magic hair that glows when I sing."
Flynn blinked. "What?"
Rapunzel suddenly reached out her hand, plunging her eyebrows. "I have... magic hair that sparkles when I sing!" She repeated it seriously, and realized that they can find a way out, and before the water filled the whole cave, Rapunzel began to sing.
Flynn/Eugene freaked out about her hair, but he sees it drifting towards a small opening in the rocks, indicating a draught. They quickly make their way and are going to run out of air when they burst outward, landing in a river. They drag themselves to the shore, where Flynn keeps freaking out that Rapunzel's hair is magical.
(Time skip)
Evening came, and the two lit a bonfire. Eugene is still shocked by Rapunzel's hair, so she tells him that it is not all he can do and, after making him promise not to freak out, wraps his hair around his injured hand and sings the healing song. Eugene tries very hard not to go crazy but is still upset when his wound completely disappears. Rapunzel explains that Gothel told her that people tried to cut her hair and steal her magic when she was young. She shows him a short strand of brown hair near the nape of her neck - the lock that Gothel cut when she was little - and says that when her hair is cut, they lose all their power. Gothel told her that the reason he locked her out of the world was to protect her from people who wanted to steal her hair.
Having told Eugene her story, she also wants to know his, Eugene told her that he has no memory of the first six years of life and that all he knows is that he is an orphan and took the name Flynn Rider from the hero of the books.
