El Tigre the new Adventures Season 2 Episode 48 – Music to sooth the heart
Morning had arrived for everyone in Miracle city. Everyone had started there day and headed to their jobs. The news of Dr Chipotle Sr.'s death was the first thing that the Miracle city news team had covered when the day started. Everyone who was gathered around outside window's that had Tv's playing watched in shock as the news team talked about the death of Dr. Chipotle Sr.
"Around 10:30pm a battle took place in downtown Miracle city. El Tigre and his team first fought against Sinister Siniestro and Dr. Chipotle Jr. But then the battle took to an even worse turn when the man known as Tetsuo Aragaki had suddenly arrived. Tetsuo Aragaki was the man that was responsible for the near destruction of Miracle city last year and was defeated by Rodolfo and a handful of hero's. Tetsuo according to the young hero's that fought against him, manipulated the young villain know as Dr. Chipotle Jr., son of Dr. Chipotle Sr. Into kill his own father. Dr. Chipotle Jr is now in league with the man named Tetsuo Aragaki and is still at large."
"The kid killed his father?" Said a Young man passing by
"Dang that's crazy…" Said the Young Man's friend
"After all these years and that's what happens to that mad scientist. What a cruel way for his life to end. Killed by his own son," Said an elderly man "I do feel bad for him…"
"Well…" Said Don Baffi, leader of the mustache mafia "That's how he goes out huh?"
"Kind of sad ain't it boss?" Said Knuckles
"Of course Knuckles. Nothing is worse than getting killed by your own flesh and blood." Don Baffi said
"Very true…" Big man said nodding
Elsewhere, the flock of fury reacts to the news of Dr. Chipotle's death. They were all at their base watching the news on the big screen in the main room.
"Diego…killed his own father?" Zoe said in shock.
"That's…that's just wrong…even if you're a super villain." Jose said
Lady Gobbler just shakes her head "What a cruel fate…" She said
"I never expected that Diego would actually go along with doing that…" Carmelita said sipping her coffee.
"And this Tetsuo man had a hand in doing it?" Jose said looking at her mother.
"I guess so." Carmelita responded.
"That man is a whole different level of pure evil. No love for the thrill. He just wants chaos!" Lady Gobbler said.
"I just hope he never comes back!" Zoe said crossing her arms "The same goes for Diego!"
"Agreed…" Carmelita, Jose and Lady Gobbler said together.
…
"I see." William Dean Washington, leader of the world government said "It's completely understandable that you want to leave the investigation."
"I'm truly sorry. I just can't let leave the kids by themselves anymore…not after what happened yesterday." Rodolfo explained
Rodolfo was speaking to William through a communicator that had a camera were both of them could see one another.
William sighed "I do apologize…for Tetsuo Aragaki. I have no excuse for letting a man like him get so far in places he doesn't belong…"
"No no it's fine. You aren't to blame at all." Rodolfo said quickly
"How is everyone? No one's hurt badly right?" William asked
"Well I can't say nobody's hurt. But they're all alive thank god." Said Rodolfo
"That's good to hear. I'm glad everyone is safe." William said with a smile.
"The only casualty that we suffered was a villain of ours. His name was Dr. Chipotle Sr. He was killed by his own son who was manipulated by Tetsuo…" Rodolfo explained.
William clenches his fist. "I see…" He said in a quivering frustrated tone
"Yes…he might have been evil but he didn't deserve that at all."
"I agree…" William nods. "Oh umm, is Marcus Dupree doing ok?"
"Oh yes he's fine. He fought really well against Tetsuo. But after the battle ended he stormed off yesterday while he was still wounded. I still don't understand the sudden rage that went through him but one of our friends Cosmic Cleopatra found him and patched him up." Rodolfo explained.
"Hmm…that's a relief. Well Rodolfo as I said. I understand your decision. You have nothing to worry about." William said with a smile.
"Thank you." Rodolfo said returning the smile.
With that, the call ended. William lay's back in his chair and stared up at the ceiling. William heard the doors to his office open. He looks over seeing Rebecca Lockhart, second leader of the world government of super hero's walk into his office. She had her hair wrapped up in a ponytail, she wore short blue jean jacket and was wearing a white T-shirt under it along with blue jeans and running shoes.
"Is everything ok?" Rebecca asked sitting on the edge of William's desk.
"Well you can say that I guess. Rodolfo had to leave the investigation due to the trouble Tetsuo caused in Miracle city…" William said.
"I can't blame him…those kids are tough but still young…" Rebecca said
William just sat in his chair, already lost in thought.
"Oh, how's Marcus doing?" Rebecca asked "Did you ask?"
"He's doing fine. He fought against Tetsuo protecting his friends." William said.
"I see…it seems those two's path's well never stop crossing…" Rebecca said quietly.
"It really seems that way…" William said softly. "With the history those two have…knows what will happen next with them."
"What is Tetsuo plan? What is that man trying to do?" Rebecca asked
"He's recruited Dr. Chipotle Sr.'s son, twisted his mind…who knows where his plan lies next…"

Back at the hospital, Manny, Ronnie, Carmen and Johnny were all lying in bed. Johnny had control over the remote to the TV in the room and was flipping through random channels. Frida was visiting and she brought snacks and board games for everyone.
"Oh come on Johnny just pick a channel already!" Manny said annoyed
"Hey give me a break! Blame the TV for not having anything good on!" Said Johnny
"I'd say just keep flipping till you see explosions and car chases!" Carmen suggested
Frida looked over at Ronnie who was trying to pick a potato chip with her feet and eat it.
"That's like the fourth try." Frida asked with a chuckle. "You do keep your feet clean at least right?"
"Oh don't worry I keep my feet squeaky clean!" Ronnie said cheerfully "Besides, I've practiced picking things up with my feet for this very moment!" She eyed down the chip "I WILL EAT THIS CHIP WITH MY FEET!" She said determinedly
Frida couldn't help but chuckle at Ronnie's goofiness.
A knock was heard on their door and Ryumaru, Rodolfo and Puma loco stepped in.
"Hey Children, how's everyone doing?" Rodolfo asked
"We're doing ok! I'm honestly ready to just go home." Manny said with a smile.
"I'm trying to eat a chip with my feet!" Ronnie said as she picked up the chip gently with her toes "I PICKED IT UP!"
Ryumaru turned around and looked outside their room to the right "Are you coming in?" He asked.
Ryumaru stepped back in and Marcus walked into the room. Marcus rubs the back of his head as the group stared at him.
"Uh…hey guys."Marcus said nervously.
"Hey." Ronnie said to him.
"Oh look, its Mr. Hothead himself." Johnny said irritably
"You ok Marcus?" Manny asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. Thanks to Cosmic Cleopatra…" Marcus replied
"Yeah, Ryu told us she sealed you up pretty good." Carmen said
"Yeah she's amazing." Marcus said chuckling as he scratched his cheek.
"Good." Ronnie said nodding "So now that you're here." She looked at Frida "Frida if you please."
"Yup," Frida nods. She gets up from her seat and walks over to Marcus. Frida then slaps Marcus across the face knocking him to the ground.
"OW! FRIDA WHAT THE HECK?!" Marcus said rubbing his cheek.
"That's for scaring me." Ronnie said "I asked Frida to do it since both my arms are broken."
"And I happily agreed to do it." Frida said cracking her knuckles. Frida grabs Marcus by the front of his shirt. "And this is for scaring me!" She slaps him twice in the face.
"OW OW! JEEZ I'M SORRY!" Marcus shouted.
"Let me hit him too!" Carmen said with a smirk
"NO! NO MORE HITTIMG ME!" Marcus screamed
"Buahaha serves you right!" Manny laughed
"Hey it's probably the closest a girl will ever touch him." Johnny smirked
"What was that?!" Marcus said glaring over at Manny and Johnny
"Well it looks like Marcus is feeling better." Ryumaru said to Rodolfo
"Yes it seems so. Before you were too scared to come up and see them." Said Rodolfo
"Is that right?" Frida said
"Dawww were you scared to come see us big boy?" Carmen said nudging him on the shoulder
"No I wasn't!" Marcus said
"But what if they hate me?" Puma loco mimicked Marcus. "I did shout at them for no reason. I couldn't stand it if they shunned me!"
"NOW HOLD ON I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING LIKE THAT!" Marcus yelled at Puma loco
Manny, Frida, Ronnie and Carmen busted out into a loud laughter.
"Ok ok everyone remember this is a hospital." Rodolfo said chuckling. "Let's keep our voice down."
"Hey by the way, where did you run off to yesterday?" Johnny asked "You took your sweet time coming to back us up against that Tetsuo freak."
"Oh…" Marcus said looking over at Johnny "I…I just had to…think about some stuff is all…and…"
"Annnd?" Manny raised an eyebrow
"Look I don't really want to talk about it alright." Marcus said crossing his arms.
Everyone looked at each other and just decided not to bring It up again. The rest of visiting ours was followed by everyone chatting and playing with the board games that Frida brought along, which, Manny, Marcus and Johnny had an intense game of Uno. The three pretty much turned every game that Frida brought along into a high stakes competition. After that, visiting ours were over and everyone was now heading out.
"I spoke to the doctors. They're going to be letting you all go in couple of days." Rodolfo informed them.
"Finally…" Johnny said sighing in relief
"Awesome! I can finally come home and eat some real food!" Manny said happily.
"I can wait to be free from this prison!" Ronnie said flopping back on her bed.
"And sleep on a comfortable bed." Carmen added in.
"Well alright guys, see you all next time." Frida said with a smile.
"Later Fri Fri!" Ronnie said waving with her foot.
They said their goodbyes and they left the room. Frida grins over at Marcus. Marcus looked at her. "What?" He asked confused
"Were you really nervous about coming to see us? That's adorable!" Frida giggled
"Ok look I was worried you guys did hate me. But I didn't say those stupid things grandpa over there said!" Marcus said turning around to look at Puma loco who was whistling innocently.
"Well we were shocked at how you acted. We were more worried about whether or not you fell out somewhere and bled to death." Frida said "We were relieved to know that Cleopatra found you."
"Yeah…I'm sorry about that…" Marcus said sincerely.
"It's fine. We're just glad that you're ok." Frida said smiling at him
They all walked out the hospital and were now at the entrance of the hospital. Rodolfo told Ryumaru that he was going to go back home and relax, and with that both Rodolfo and Puma loco went back home.
"Well, I guess that I'll just go patrol around town." Ryumaru told Marcus and Frida "You two stay safe." Ryumaru hops high into the air and runs off.
Frida looks over at Marcus "Hey, you want to go get some ice cream?" She asked.
"Sure, my sweet tooth has been begging for something to eat." Marcus said with a smile.
The two of them headed over to the ice cream shop. They each picked their favorite ice cream and combinations they wanted. Marcus picked out 4 big scoops of chocolate ice cream with mini M&M's covered with chocolate syrup. Frida picked out each flavor of Ice cream that there was in the store and covered it with strawberry syrup.
"Dang I don't know how long it's been since I've had ice cream." Marcus said picking up the spoon and taking a bite.
"How long has it been since you've eaten ice cream?" Frida asked taking a bite as well.
"Hmm let's see." Marcus thought "It's been about 3 years…"
"3 years?" Frida said surprised "I don't think I could hardly go that long without at least eating some ice cream every once in awhile!"
Marcus chuckles "Yeah, I guess ice cream just wasn't on my mind at all." Marcus then went quiet for a moment and just stared at his ice cream.
Frida looks over at Marcus curiously "You ok?" she asked worried.
"Huh? Oh yeah I'm fine…"
"Marcus you can talk to me, we're friends. You can tell me what's wrong." Frida said
Marcus was silent for a moment. He sighed and lay's back on his seat.
"Come on, talk to me." Frida said softly.
"Alright," Marcus said finally giving in "The reason I was gone for a bit yesterday was because I just needed to be by myself. Because of the nightmares I've been having."
"You've been having nightmares?" Frida asked curiously
"It's the same dream over and over." Marcus began "I have this dream where I'm this father running away from this person who was out to kill him. I ran for my life…thinking about my daughter, thinking that I need to live for her and to be there for her. But…I was stabbed in the back by his blade…the pain from getting stabbed…It was so painful…I begged for my life…but he didn't care…he stabbed me through the throat and that was it…I was gone. The killer looked up at a glass window and I saw his face…it was me…I was the killer…"
"O-Oh man…" Frida said shocked "That must have been really scary. How long have you been having this dream?"
"When I first arrived in Miracle city a year ago, I've been having this dream over and over…it's so stressful at times. It comes and it goes...and sometimes it just doesn't stop."
"Why do you think you keep having these dreams? I mean there must've been something that happened…can't you remember?" Frida asked
Marcus knew why he was having these dreams. The dream he was having was nothing more than a flashback. A flashback of what the victim felt. How he felt when the blade struck him. How he was forced to leave his daughter behind.
"No…" Marcus lied "I don't know why…"
"I'm sorry." Frida said "I didn't know this was going on I…"
"It's fine…I should be the one to say I'm sorry I mean we're out for ice cream after all and I spoiled the mood." Marcus said. He chuckles a bit sounding nervous all at the same time.
"Well I was the one who asked…" Frida said chuckling. Then, a thought came to Frida's mind "Hey Marcus. Do you like music?"
"I don't listen often to music but I like anything that sounds good to me." Marcus said.
"Alright, I got an idea! But first we need to finish this ice cream. It's almost melting!" Frida said eating her ice cream quickly.
"H-Hey slow down Frida," Marcus said with a smile. "You'll get-"
"AH! BRAIN FREEZE!" Frida said holding her head.
"Yup I saw that coming…"

After both of them had finished their ice cream Frida took Marcus to her home. They walked over to the garage where a drum set, and two guitars that were sitting on the side.
"Are these yours?" Marcus asked looking at the guitars
"The red ones mine. The purple one belongs to my friend Rosa." Frida said walking over to her red electric guitar and picking it up.
"I didn't know you were into music like this." Marcus said
"I want to be rock star. One of the best," Frida said holding her guitar in her hands.
Marcus smiles "Is that why you dyed your hair blue?" He asked jokingly
Frida giggles "No, I did that for personal reasons. I always loved singing and rock music. It was the one thing I had when I felt alone…"
"Huh?" Marcus said confused "What do you mean?"
Frida was silent for a moment. "You know my dad is the chief of police. My mom is judge, and my sister's train in being Miracle city police officers like my dad. And me…" She sat on the chair that was up against the wall "I didn't want all of that. I didn't want to be something that my dad wanted. I wanted to go my own way. Be who I wanted to be." She strummed the guitar a couple of the times. "The reason I dyed my hair blue was because I didn't want to look like my sisters." She started to play a tune on her guitar "Ever since I wanted to take a new path that was opposite from what my family wanted I was always treated different from my family. My sister always messed with me…my dad always treated me like I had some weird issues, my mom was the only one who at least treated me and supported me. But…it really hurt when my dad never really had any faith in me."
Marcus listened closely to what Frida was saying to him.
"It was really rough you know…I didn't really have many friends in school either..." Frida then smiled "Then I met Manny…"
Marcus smiled as well
"When I met Manny…my whole world shined. I didn't feel so alone. We had so much in common…and when I met him…I was even more determined to shoot for my dream." She closed her eyes as she continued to play guitar.
Marcus chuckles "A hero, and a famous singer. That sounds like one heck of a goal."
Frida stopped playing her guitar and looks up at Marcus with a smile. "That's right!" She said with a smile "Sorry about that…I didn't mean to ramble on like that."
"Its fine," Marcus said softly "Mind playing a song for me? Future famous rock star,"
Frida chuckles "Sure! Let me actually play for you a cover of one of my favorites!" She said as she went to hook up her guitar on the amplifier.
Marcus grabbed a seat and sat down.
Frida tunes her guitar and takes a deep breath.

Frida then played an amazing guitar solo which Marcus thought was amazing. Marcus was really surprised by Frida's talent. She wasn't lying when she said she practiced every chance she got.

Frida exhaled and looked at Marcus who was clapping with a big smile on his face.
"Frida that was amazing! Your singing is incredible!" Marcus said happily
Frida then began to blush "Hehe…thanks Mark." She said rubbing the back of her head embarrassed.
"The song was pretty catchy too. I see why it's one of your favorites. It suits you." Marcus complimented
"Jeez Marcus…" Frida couldn't stop blushing "So...got any song request?"
"Hmm…" Marcus started to think. "Something…soft, warm…and calming…"
"Soft, warm, and calming…" Frida repeated. "Hmm…I actually know a song that might work. My mom use to sing this song to me every night when I go to bed. Hold on be right back." Frida places her electric guitar down and runs inside her house. She quickly returned with a wooden guitar. She tuned in, and places the strap around her neck.
Frida closes her eyes and strums the guitar once, paused and strummed it once again.

Marcus was transfixed. He had forgotten where he was. The only thing he was focused on was Frida and the song she was singing. Her voice was so beautiful. The way she sang the song was flawless. The way she played the soft melody of the solo was amazing. She sounded just like…just like…

The song was finished. Frida opened her eyes and looked at Marcus. She gasped. Marcus had tears streaming down his eyes. He was blankly staring at Frida, unknown to the tears streaming down his eyes.
"M-Marcus…" Frida said to him. "A-Are you…ok?"
"T-That song…" Marcus whispered "She always…sung that song to me...it's been so long since I heard that song. It always calmed me…it always kept my mind at ease…"
"Do…you mean…"
"Yeah…" Marcus nods "Emily…"Marcus looked down at his hands. He saw the drops of tears on his hand. He then wipes his eyes and looks back up at Frida "Frida…your talent is amazing…you truly are a great singer…"
Frida smiled warmly at Marcus. "No problem…" She said softly.
Frida and Marcus spent the rest of the day hanging out. Frida showed Marcus how to play a guitar. And for the rest of the day they just sat down and talked.
"Are the super villains at your hometown really that flashy?" Frida asked with a laugh.
"Yeah, they give me a damn headache. Hell half the time I can't even some of them seriously!"
"Man we really have to head over to your hometown someday!" Frida said giggling
"Yeah…someday I guess." Marcus said with a smile.
The two of them noticed that sun was starting set. Marcus stood up from his seat and stretched. "Well I definitely had fun today Frida!" he said looking over at her.
"Me too!" Frida said "By the way thanks for listening to me sing. It's actually been awhile since I did so."
"I would really like it if you could sing again for me sometime." Said Marcus
"Sure!" Frida said standing up. "Well, I'll see you around Mark."
"You too Frida,"
With that, Marcus walked out of Frida's garage and walked down the sidewalk. Once Marcus had arrived back in town and headed down the street to where his apartment. He started to think about the song that Frida sung, the song that Emily always sung to him after he would return to her, and again he started feel warm. He closed his eyes, picturing being surrounded by the sunflowers and hearing Emily sing to him. He opened his eyes and smiled.
"She really does have such a wonderful singing voice…"

A/N I highly do suggest listening to Daytime Moon. The song was used as a closing theme for one of my favorite animes Outlaw Star. The song is so beautiful. I loved always listening to it when the episode was over. The second closing theme is just as good as Daytime moon. Also, that concludes Chapter 71 of El Tigre the new adventures!
