It was nice, and warm day over Domino City where today is the time of the Entrance Exams to enter the prestigious Duel Academy. Several students including a smart wiz, a test anxiety kid, and a cocky prep school teen. But it's missing someone.
And those someone's are running late...
"Jaden slow down!" a girl with long brown hair and wearing light blue glasses called. "I've never been as fast as you!"
"Now's not the time to slow down Ems! We got about two minutes to get to the Entrance Exams before they start!" a boy with brown hair in a chestnut style while wearing a gray coat called back before grinning, "Besides since we're not students now, we can't get in detention hall for being late right?"
"Fine, but if you get there first tell them I'm right behind you." the girl told him while running as fast as she could despite Jaden pulling away from her.
Jaden was running so fast he didn't see someone walking in his path before...
SMACK!
Jaden collided with who it was dropping down to the ground with his cards spilled everywhere.
"Jaden!" she cried. "I'm sorry sir, we should have been watching where we were going."
"Sorry." Jaden sheepishly apologized as they went to pick his cards.
The man looks over before asking, "So your two duelists?"
"Yeah, we're trying to try out for Duel Academy." Jaden answered with a small smile not turning.
The man only chuckled opening a Deckbox from his belt, "You don't say..."
"Well, hopefully we'll get there if we're not too late." the girl mentioned. "It's kind of a dream of ours to go to Duel Academy."
"Yeah." Jaden agreed chuckling before they both widen their eyes recognizing who the man is, "Hey wait your..."
The man held out two cards for them to take, "Why don't you two take these. Something just tells me they belong with you both."
The two of them slowly took the cards in awe.
"Good luck." the man walked passed them saying that.
"Hey...!" Jaden, and the girl turned as they cried in sync, "Thank you! We'll make you proud!" They gave a bow as they said this where the man turned looked over his shoulder giving a thumbs up before walking off as they looked at their new cards. Jaden has what looks like a Kuriboh only it has angel wings. The girl's meanwhile is a purple Kuriboh like monster with a symbol of the original Monster Reborn card glowing on it's head with small golden wing like ornaments on it's eyes.
"Jaden... did we just get cards from who I think we did?" the girl asked.
"Yeah..." Jaden admitted before they both heard a couple of Kuris looking around surprised before he realized, "Oh uh, the exams Emily! We better go, we can't be the next King, and Queen of Games if we're late!"
Emily's eyes widened before she nodded as they continued running to the entrance exams.
Meanwhile...
"Well ladies, that's it." a man in a suit said to a couple of woman seeing no more applicants, "Mark all the no shows, no-shows."
They nodded preparing to close up before a call interrupted them, "WAIT!" Surprised they looked seeing Jaden climbed over the railing while Emily ran in breathing, "You can... count Jaden, and Emily Yuki present! Well... so long as I don't lose my grip." He chuckled a little nervous at this while the three adults blinked.
"Well, they came just in time." one of the woman admitted to her co-worker.
"But isn't it time to close up shop?" the other one asked.
The man only said to the siblings, "Alright Mr. and Mrs. Yuki... You both came all this way so I suppose we should give you both a chance. Just wait in the arena until we're ready, and I'll see what I can do."
"Thank you sir, we're really sorry about this." Emily said respectfully.
They both entered where Jaden suddenly gushed, "Wow look Emily!"
They looked too see a white suited brown haired boy was against a proctor, and from the looks of things he's stuck.

The Teen bowed saying "Thank you oh wise Procter."
"Whoa, he's good." Emily admitted with a smile.
"Yeah Bastion Misawa, their saying he scored the highest out of all of the applicants here." they looked and saw a light blue hair student wearing glasses, and having on a dark blue uniform.
"Wow both me, and my sis barely passed." Jaden admitted to him.
"Yeah me to. My name is Syrus by the way nice to meet ya both. I got this thing called test anxiety, I don't know how I won my match." the boy, Syrus, admitted looking down.
"Well you won right Syrus?" Emily asked with a smile. "That means you're in and you'll only improve once you get to Duel Academy right?"
"Yeah." Syrus nodded hearing that.
"Well both, and Ems will join ya soon." Jaden grinned.
Syrus blinked before asking them, "You two saying you haven't dueled yet?"
"Not yet, I just hope we do well." Emily answered. "I still feel bad I didn't do as well on the written test, I usually do a lot better but I couldn't get much sleep, I'm usually a better student."
"Well, I think you two have a problem, I think Bastion's was suppose to be the last duel." Syrus revealed much to the Yuki siblings shock.
"The last..." Emily started before looking down. "Oh... I guess we'll try again next year right Jaden?"
"Looks like we have a pretty good crop this year." a teacher said to another.
"Yeah we are getting good." the other smiled happy.
One teacher was about to leave having on a fancy version of the blue blazers the teachers sport on with blonde hair in a ponytail before the man the Yuki twins encountered walked to him, "I'm sorry to interrupt but two last applicants have arrived to take their exams Mr. Crowler."
The teacher's eye twitched in frustration but calmly asking, "Did you just call me Mr?"
Taken aback the man corrected himself, "So sorry, I'm new here Mrs.-"
"I have a PhD in Dueling I've earned the Title 'Doctor' thank you." the teacher now revealed as Dr. Crowler explained to the man now understanding why he didn't called him right, "Now tell the truants to come back next year."
The others didn't like that.
"Oh come on Dr. Crowler we have time for two more."
"Yes let's give these applicants a shot."
"They were a bit late that's all."
"LATE IS RUDE!" Unable to accept what his co-workers are saying Dr. Crowler shouted that slamming his hands on his deck yelling, "I have no time for Slackers!" He phone ring as he answered a bit of a tone, "Hello and who may I ask is-"
"It's Sheppard."
"Ah Chancellor Sheppard." Dr. Crowler replied instantly changing his tone to a pleasant one which made everyone else blinked.
"Just checking on things, Mr. Crowler. Wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last year."
That made Dr. Crowler gave a nervous um while Sheppard told him on the phone, "When you cut a third of our applicants for some ridiculous reason. What was it calling you Mr or Mrs whatever," he then ordered, "make sure everyone gets a fair shot"
"Absolutely!" Dr. Crowler said before closing his phone scowling, "Furry chin windbag." He then thinks to himself, 'Doesn't he realized their are enough talentless flunkies at this academy? Well he's the boss. And if he wants to get this scrimshanker a duel fine!'
"Excuse me gentlemen I have business to attend to." Dr. Crowler said turning to walk out.
A Procter said "Wait who's gonna be their Proctor and what type of exam deck shall we use?"
"Oh leave that to me." was his reply as Dr. Crowler walked out.
Meanwhile...
"Tight duel Bastion." was what said boy heard from behind when he sat down which was behind Jaden, Emily, and Syrus.
"Thank you." Bastion said before turning back to his Deck in his hands.
"You know, you might be the second best here." Jaden grinned much to everyone else but Emily's confusion.
"Jaden Yuki, and Emily Yuki please report to Exam Field 4." a voice on the intercom called.
"Huh, both of us at once?" Emily asked turning to Syrus. "Is that how it's been working so far?"
"Uh, no in fact that's the first time this happened." Syrus admitted.
Jaden grinned, "In any case, I told ya they'll call us Ems. Come on!"
"Hang on!" before the two headed off they turned to Bastion who asked, "If I'm second best then who's first?"
Jaden grinned gesturing to him, and Emily, "Me, and Ems here! It's what we're best at! And while I didn't think both me, and her team up for our debut here there isn't any better way since we have an advantage together!"
"Jaden." Emily frowned. "We don't know who the best duelist is until we duel each other."
With that the two of them walked to the field.
"Wow they sound confident, I wonder if there that good." Syrus remarked to Bastion staring off as they walked to the field.
"There going to need to be look who their dueling." Bastion said to Syrus with a slight frown.
"You want to go first Jaden?" Emily asked with a smile. "I know you're super eager for a duel."
"Hey, whatever happened to ladies' first?" Jaden asked with a grin as they were raised to the field to duel.
She smiled before turning. "Hello sir, sorry we were late."
They looked who it was is Dr. Crowler himself, "Alright test time! So kids, your names?"
"My name's Emily Yuki, and this is my twin brother Jaden." Emily answered.
"Well Yukis, I'm Doctor Vellian Crowler, Depairment Chair of Techniques here at Duel Academy." the man before them introduced himself.
Jaden grinned, "Wow the Depairment Chair himself is here to test us Ems? Man, what did we do to earn his attention like this?" He laughed as he said this.
'What do you think?' Dr. Crowler thought with a sweatdrop not saying it outloud.
"I wonder what made Dr. Crowler test these two." a blue haired boy with glasses said.
A tanned boy wearing the same blazer as the other two asked, "Well we will see what these two can do huh Chazz?" He asked the black haired boy in between them.
"This should be good for a laugh." Chazz smirked.
"Dr. Crowler, could I ask what the test is?" Emily asked him. "Is it a puzzle of some kind?"
"It's simple. You two have to defeat me." Dr. Crowler answered her.
"Oh, then I guess I'll duel first." Emily mentioned before stepping forward.
"No. Both of you at once against me. That's why I had you both come here." Dr. Crowler told them.
"I did say before we team up together..." Jaden couldn't help but mention to himself.
"Normally we wouldn't do this but for a special case you both will take your exam at the same time against the same proctor which is your's truly." Dr. Crowler explained to the two.
Emily frowned. "That's not really a test of our dueling abilities though, and if Jaden and I team up... there's no way we can lose the match."
"Ah come on, where's your sense of competition Ems?" Jaden however had different opinions. "He said he's the Department Chair which can mean he's quite a super tough duelist! And besides I somehow knew we both are gonna have to team up together as our Entrance Exam."
Emily frowned at that before just nodding in defeat. 'I guess... winning on my first turn would make an impression.' "Fine, but you go first for us Jaden."
"Seems your both ready." they turned to Dr. Crowler who armed a Duel Disk that's a part of his blazer as Jaden grinned, "You know it, both me, and Ems here are ready for ya!"
Dr. Crowler scowled but closed his eyes saying, "For this match, you both will be saying the same 4000 Life Points, and me the lone opponent will have twice that amount. You can share your field, and graveyard but can't see each other's hands, and after each of my turns one of you two will go on next."
The two of them nodded at that. With that they prepared themselves as Jaden grinned seeing Dr. Crowler drawing his hand when it ejected it for him, "Hey, that's a pretty slick disk, Teach! How can I get one of those?"
"For being a highly educated student of course." he then grinned to himself, 'Except, I won't allow you both to tarnish Duel Academy's reputation no matter the reason.'
"Well we're ready!" Jaden grinned all readying.

Smacking the card on the slot it closed before holograms of what looks like a mechanized rusty town that also has brick buildings centering around ancient machines.

Meanwhile at the stands the boy with the blue hair said a little nervous, "I didn't expect, Dr. Crowler to really take them seriously to where he uses his own Deck."
"Then these two don't stand a chance against a pro like Dr. Crowler, right Chazz?" the tanned boy asked Chazz.
"No way." Chazz smirked.
A blonde haired girl wearing a white blazer with blue lining that's sleeveless, and having a blue skirt with blue gloves on narrowed her eyes leaning over the railing, "A bit overkill for the good doctor. Their only applicants no need to use your own Deck when it's so powerful."
"Maybe, but I have a feeling there's more to these two than meets the eye." mentioned a boy with dark blue hair standing next to her.
Dr. Crowler takes another card, "Then let's have a new type of building here. The Ancient Gear Castle!" What rose behind him was a brick castle filled with all kinds of machines with the same gears.

Syrus's eyes widened as he turned to the duel.
Jaden only grinned before calling, "Alright Wingman charge in at Ancient Gear Beast!" Wingman fired a flaming blast with his dragon hit striking Beast destroying it but like Bastion said, Dr. Crowler doesn't take any damage.
"Well it seems you have bite more then your bark. However since you changed Beast's battle mode, you didn't dealt any damage. Too bad." Dr. Crowler smirked to Jaden's location.
"Actually Dr. Crowler, Flame Wingman still can deal damage." Emily explained.
"Ems is right, see when Flame Wingman destroys a monster in battle, you take damage equal to your monster's original attack points." Jaden grinned. "Sweet super power right teach?"
"What?" Flame Wingman flew in front of the startled teacher, and before he knew it Dr. Crowler was blasted by Flame Wingman's dragon arm. (Dr. Crowler: 6000/Hand: 2)
"Whoa, what a impressive trick." the girl said with a slight smile impressed by Jaden's thinking.
"True, but I have a feeling things are far from over." the boy told her.
"Pretty slick move huh teach?" Jaden grinned to the smoking doctor before saying, "I place 1 card down, and things are over here."

What rose up from the ground was a huge rusty mechanized golem with a red eye in a hollow head letting out a roar.

Dr. Crowler smirked as the castle behind him vanished.
"I get it, so since Geartown lowered the number of sacrifices to one, and Ancient Gear Castle counts as the sacrifice you could summon Ancient Gear Golem even without having a monster in play." Emily realized. "Wow, that's an amazing combo."
"Yeah wicked move, I mean come on!" Jaden grinned really excited.
Dr. Crowler scowled seeing the lack of fear or intimidation but decides not to worry for now, "Well now, Ancient Gear Golem attack! Mechanized Melee!"
With it's gears fast at work to power it the Golem pulled back a fist to punch before Dr. Crowler smirked, "Oh, and if you were thinking of using a Spell or Trap card against Golem's attack don't bother! It's special ability forbids you both from using those whenever it attacks!"
"That strong and we can't stop its attack?" Emily asked in shock.
The Golem punched Flame Wingman destroying it while Jaden grunted from the shockwave of the force. (Jaden/Emily: 3100/Hand: (Jaden: 0/Emily: 5)) He stared at the sparkles, 'Sorry Wingman...'
Dr. Crowler laughed taking this moment to brag, "Don't feel bad this is the top dueling school in the country! Some people just aren't cut out for-"
Jaden only grinned before saying, "Boy, I so want in this school now! You really know your stuff teach!"
"Jaden's right." Emily agreed with her own smile. "I'm already looking forward to learning from someone as skilled as you."
Dr. Crowler blinked before growling, 'Haven't they get it yet! There are NOT allowed to pass, and they will not treat my Deck like a joke!' Taking another card from his hand he placed it down, "I end my turn."

"Huh?" Gala tackled Ancient Gear Golem as Dr. Crowler cried in shock, "My Golem!"

"So those two use the same Deck but in different methods." the blue haired boy said seeing this blinking.
The tanned boy gulped, "Yeah they are in the same sync as they said, plus since their Decks are nearly the same they have an advantage on Dr. Crowler."
'Ok, I could attack but those two set cards might be a problem.' Emily thought looking at them. "I set one card and that's it."

"Well that cost ya little girl." The Yuki siblings turned their attention back to Dr. Crowler who smirked, "You had a chance of attack, and you blown it."
"You didn't play a trap?" Emily asked in shock before frowning. 'I always do that, I hesitate at the key moment... even if Jaden let me use the stronger cards.'
"Well, I would but it would still leave a clear road for you to attack me directly with Gaia but it wouldn't be enough damage." Dr. Crowler said with closed eyes before his Duel Vest ejected a card before he opened his eyes, "But now your hesitance done you, and your brother in, cause now I summon Ancient Gear Frame!"
What rose was a small rod based robot.

"So now I use Golem on my field with Frame, and lastly... Ancient Gear Wyvern from my Deck!" Dr. Crowler called as the two along with a small grown geared dragon rose up fusing together.
"Fusion from his deck?" Syrus cried in shock. "They're doomed!"
"Mechanized Golem with Ancient Culture! Join together with the two gears from prehistoric times to form a more ancient force! Fusion Summon! Level 10! Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem!"
What rose from behind Dr. Crowler was a large centaur version of Golem with a huge silver arm that has three claws.

"Oh sweet, this is getting good." Jaden grinned.
"I never knew that Dr. Crowler had a Fusion Monster in his Deck." the girl admitted to the boy beside her, "What do you think of this Zane?"
"I think these two aren't going to make it into the academy Alexis." Zane answered. "Especially not dueling the way they have been."
"Oh give it a rest. The duel's not over yet." Alexis told him.
Dr. Crowler laughed before calling, "Ultimate Golem attack! Forceful Melee!"
The Centaur Golem galloped towards Gaia to punch it fiercely. Emily cried out as her monster shattered.

"Ah man Emily's monster didn't stand a chance! It's attack points we're way to low!" Syrus cried worried before shaking his head, "This isn't looking good!"
"It's worse than that, thanks to Dr. Crowler's Ultimate Golem they'll need a monster with at least 4500 attack points to destroy it, something I doubt either of them have." Bastion agreed.
"Ready for more?" Dr. Crowler taunted Emily with a smirk.
She frowned at that before just looking down. 'Sorry Jaden, even with you giving me the stronger HERO deck and helping me practice... I'm keeping us out of Duel Academy because I didn't take the same risk you would have.'
"Hey Ems, I told ya lots of times to stop thinking like that." Jaden said to his sister before grinning, "Beside I think, I can use this to my advantage."
"Jaden?" she asked hearing that before laughing softly. "I guess if anybody would know what I'm thinking it's my twin brother."

Jaden drew before saying, "Okay not bad teach but both me, and my sis won't stand down against ya! And I think her hesitance to attack earlier works in my favor."
"What makes you say something as idiotic as that?" was the question of his opponent.
"Why not I show ya." Jaden grinned showing what he drawn was Pot of Greed.

'Not what I was thinking but it'll have to do.' Jaden thought before calling "Okay, I'll start by activating Elemental HERO Captain Gold's ability in my hand! By discarding it, I can take Skyscraper to my hand!" He shows a field spell before activating it where large builds rose around Geartown.

Sparkman rose up with Flame Wingman fusing together.

What lowered down was a white armored warrior that has green skin, and large wings raising up.

"I wouldn't be too sure of that. Cause Shining Flare Wingman gains 300 points for every Elemental HERO in my, and Ems' graveyards!" Jaden grinned, "Go HERO Rollcall!"
Solid Soldier, Liquid Solider, Burstinatrix, Avian, Captain Gold, and Gaia all entered Shining Flare Wingman's aura who glowed bright.
Shining Flare Wingman: (ATK: 2500 + (300 * 6) = 4300)
"Wait a second Jaden, aren't you forgetting something?" Emily asked with a smile.
"Nah of course not sis." Jaden grinned.
She rolled her eyes. "Check the Graveyard again."
Jaden looked and noticed Emily had discarded Elemental HERO Stratos with Liquid Soldier's ability.
'Then again wouldn't matter with Skycraper.' Jaden shrugged.
Shining Flare Wingman: (ATK: 4300 + 300 = 4600)
"Great Scott, it now has enough power to destroy Ultimate Golem!" Bastion cried in awe.
"Wow." Syrus whispered seeing that.
Dr. Crowler also looked stunned before Jaden called, "Go Shining Flare Wingman!" Flare Wingman charged tackling through Ultimate Golem destroying it. (Dr. Crowler: 5800/Hand: 0)
"That all?" Dr. Crowler grunted, "You only dealt 200 measly points!"
"Yeah that's true why not we fix that?" Jaden grinned which made the good doctor blink.
"Shining Flare Wingman has the same ability as Flame Wingman." Emily explained.
Flare Wingman flew in front of Dr. Crowler shining to bright at him. (Dr. Crowler: 1400/Hand: 0)
"That's the second time Crowler took over 3000 points of damage at once!" the blue haired boy cried in shock.
Chazz just frowned at that. Dr. Crowler growled before calling, "I activate Ultimate Golem's ability! It summons back Gear Golem from the graveyard!"
The golem rose from the scraps.
Ancient Gear Golem: (Attack Position)
Jaden checks over his other cards before setting two, "I end my turn. Now sis come next turn, I know you can win us the duel!"

Emily frowned. 'Yeah, as long as I don't second guess myself again. We only have 900 life points and that Golem has 3000 attack points, the wrong move could cost us everything.'
"Well before that happens, I'll have to crush that." the two looked as he called, "I activate the trap, Cross-Dimensional Duel!"

During the next Standby Phase, return that monster banished by this effect to the field, and if you do, its ATK becomes double its original ATK until the end of that turn. If 1 or more "Ancient Gear Golem" or "Ancient Gear Golem - Ultimate Pound" you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead.
"So now with it's effect Gear Golem is banished!" Ancient Gear Golem vanished which confuses the two.

"6000 points!" Emily cried seeing that. "I've never seen anything that powerful!"
Jaden only grinned, "I knew it."
"Huh?" Dr. Crowler asked.
"I knew that Emily hesitating was a good idea. Is she attacked earlier then it would make Golem so strong, and we would've lost by then. And my guess is you only use that trap to protect your monsters, and you didn't use it for Ultimate Golem cause it would summon a regular Golem from the graveyard which allows you to use your trap." Jaden grinned to him before saying, "And of course let's not forget that the boost only last until the end of turn so if me, and her survive you wouldn't have a monster to defend you if you didn't summon Ultimate Golem."
"Don't tell me he had known what Dr. Crowler was thinking, and Emily's hesitance had actually helped them?" Bastion asked in disbelief from what they just heard.
"Yeah, but they can't survive an attack from that monster." Syrus frowned.
Dr. Crowler only growled, "Well, now here's what's coming to you! Ancient Gear Golem att-!"
"Ems you mind I use your face-down!?" Jaden quickly asked Emily.
"Huh, but you can't use a trap when he attacks Jaden." Emily reminded him.
"Maybe but he's not attacking now!" Jaden called, "We can use cards before he attacks which is what I'm doing!" He reveals his face-down to be a spell.

Seeing that and realizing his plan Emily nodded. "Go ahead."

Growling at this Dr. Crowler called, "Gear Golem! Mechanized Melee!" Gear Golem charged punching Shining Flare Wingman destroying it like it's lesser form as they braced themselves. (Jaden/Emily: 1500/Hand: (Jaden: 1/Emily: 3))
"Jaden, are you alright?" Emily asked him.
"Yeah, I'm fine sis." Jaden gave a grin to her location.
She nodded before frowning and glaring at Dr. Crowler. "Anything else?"
"Fine you survived this turn. That's all." Dr. Crowler said with a shrug.
Jaden only grinned, "I told ya before Ems can finish this duel this turn, and I mean it!"

But the Golem wasn't destroyed.
"What?" Emily asked seeing that.
Dr. Crowler smirked, "So sorry... But by banishing Cross-Dimensional Duel, it prevents Gear Golem from getting destroyed!"
"Oh... well in that case Blazeman attacks Ancient Gear Golem." Emily mentioned.
Blazeman charged in ahead which made Dr. Crowler smirk, "Fine with me bring him on!" He gestured around the buildings, "This silly little Skyscraper field card hasn't lowered my Golem's attack level by 1 point!"
Blazeman jumped up before Jaden grinned, "You know what teach your right! This Skyscraper field hasn't lowered your Golem's attack points..."
"But it raises Blazeman's attack points..." Emily continued with a grin of her own.
"By 1000!" the two Yuki twins declared.
Quickly realizing that means trouble for him Dr. Crowler vainly called, "Wait, time out!"
"Go!" the two cried as Blazeman powered up a blazing attack.
Blazeman: (ATK: 1200 + 1000 = 2200)
Dr. Crowler watched helplessly as Blazeman used his fire power to attack the Golem shocking everyone while Dr. Crowler cried, "This can't be! He was my very best card!" His head was hit by debris as Blazeman dropped beside the two as Jaden grinned, "And in addition the difference is 700 so that's game."
"No way..." Dr. Crowler sees his defeated Golem is starting to be reduced to scrap metal above him trying to move out of the way but watched with a cry as the Golem collapsed on top of him where he lays defeated.

The twins provided a pose saying in sync, "That's game! So we passed huh teach?"
The holograms vanished as Dr. Crowler said to himself in disbelief, "Impossible... There's no way these delinquents could defeat me...!"
"Jaden, can you make me a promise?" Emily asked.
Her brother turned to her with a soft smile.
"When we get to Duel Academy, don't let me hesitate like always ok?" she asked. "Force me to take risks even if they cost me duels."
"Of course. Besides you were like that before, well until we got our chance at Duel Academy." Jaden said with a grin.
Alexis meanwhile smiled, "Looks like Emily is incredible."
"These new students are going to make things interesting." Zane admitted with thoughtfully.
BANG!
That startled both the boys turning their attention to Chazz who has a majorly pissed off look, "There's no way, Crowler can lose to two funkies even if that is a girl! Oh, I gotta make sure she gets the message..."
