"I have a job for you," Hayley said as Ollie sat across from her, eating his supper. The initial attack on Kimberly had not worked as well as she had hoped, but it had forced Tommy to have to split his attention. That could work to her advantage, but she knew that it would not last forever. Him spending the day with his other children let her know that Kim had healed enough that he felt safe leaving her, but that also meant that her window to move against the other Olivers was closing. "Your sister, Opal. Bring her to me."
"Why?" Ollie asked and she caught a flash of distrust in his eyes. She glanced at the calendar and realized he was near the end of an effective dose and she would need to dose him again. She had nearly lost him last week when she had let the time go too long between doses. However, she needed him to be enough like himself to fool his siblings. The only way he was walking out of that house with his sister was if he was himself. "She's three. No. No way."
"That means your parents cannot hurt her the way that they have hurt you," Hayley tried as Ollie nodded and she let out a sigh of relief. It had taken quite a bit of work to get him to believe her and to turn him against them. She had only just managed it before his birthday but all of this was worth it. She would turn them one by one and there was nothing Tommy could do to stop her. "Go tonight."
"Of course," Ollie said as he finished his meal and he stood. Hayley looked up at him and felt the fear pass through her. If she mistimed his next dose, she expected that he would turn on her for what she was telling him to do, especially with this being his little sister. The little she had seen indicated that he loved his siblings.
"She'll be safer once she is here," Hayley reiterated as she grabbed Ollie's arm and he gave her a smile before turning to leave. She planned to reunite all of the Oliver siblings, but this was going to be dangerous. Her biggest advantage was that Tommy would not hurt his children, but she knew that she would not be afforded the same forgiveness. "I hope he's quick."
"Night night, Nana?" Opal asked as she stumbled over to her, dragging a tattered blankie that had been passed down through all the Oliver children. She rubbed her eyes as she desperately tried to stay awake long enough to be tucked in.
"Absolutely," Janice said as she picked her up and took her upstairs to her bedroom. She snuggled into her chest and Janice stroked through her strawberry blonde curls. She felt Opal falling asleep against her and smiled. Opal had played so hard today with Tommy, Landon, and Sean and she was so glad to see her this tired because it meant she had had a good day.
"Ahyee?" Opal asked as Janice placed her in her bed and looked over her shoulder in time to see Ollie standing there. "Ahyee!"
"Ollie, it's good to see you," Janice said as she moved between her grandson and her granddaughter. "What are you doing here?"
"Ahyee!" Opal yelled excitedly as she tried to go around Janice and Janice held her back. Landon had suspicions that something had changed with Ollie, but Opal was far too young to understand that. She just knew that her older brother was finally home. "Nana, Ahyee."
"I know, Opal. Ollie's not himself right now," Janice said as she managed to press in Tommy's number and then tossed the phone down as it started ringing. "You're not going to take her."
"I'm not here for you Nana. Move," Ollie said as Janice shook her head and she heard Landon and Sean running up the stairs. "Move, Nana."
"No. You're not taking any of them," Janice said as Ollie reached out and shoved her out of the way. He scooped Opal up and Janice tried to jump at him, but he disappeared in a ray of shimmery light. She scrambled to her phone and picked it up. "Did you hear that?"
"Yeah. On my way. Get the boys into the control room until I get there," Tommy said as Janice looked up to see Landon and Sean staring at where Ollie had disappeared. "Mom- I need you to do this. I'm not coming to you first."
"What!" Janice screeched as she started herding the boys down to the basement and she felt her panic increase. She was not going to be able to keep them safe. "Tommy!"
"I'll call in Jase, but I have to go to Hayley's…right now," Tommy explained as Janice nodded and she grabbed each of the boy's hands and moved to get them to safety. "Don't worry, Mom. I know what I'm doing."
