This one-shot takes place not long after the previous one. A couple of days after Lloyd wakes up.

Nya was watching Lloyd train Arin and Sora. She was exhausted from having to make sure Kai and Wyldfire didn't burn down the monastery. She was already unsuccessful in keeping Wyldfire away from Master Wu's meditation carpet. Luckily for Nya's sake, Zane decided to take over watching the two of them.

When she finally got time to relax her mind wouldn't allow her to stop thinking about Jay and her missing friends. It wasn't helping that she could feel her Yin-Yang medallion in her pocket. When she was alone far away from Ninjago her objective was to get back to Ninjago. When she found Kai, her objective was to help the Kraglings. Now she still needed to figure out what the heck the Temple of the Dragons Cores was about.

She knew that finding the answers to these questions was important but she needed to relax. She decided to make some tea for Lloyd after hearing of the fiasco of Lloyd burning his tea.

Unfortunately, she was also constantly being interrupted by a certain baby dragon who wouldn't stay away from the sugar. "No sugar for cute baby dragons!" Nya said, petting Riyu's head. This caused Riyu to whimper in sadness. Of course, Nya couldn't stay mad at the cute baby dragon.

After trying multiple times, she was finally able to get the tea right. Lloyd was more than happy to finally have some sugary sweet tea. (Now I'm thinking of Somali tea. It is overly sweet but I love it :D)

Present time

"That's enough for today! We'll start training at dawn as usual!" Lloyd said as he finished his tea. The two ninja trainees fell to the ground exhausted which caused Riyu to run to their side, licking their faces. To make sure they weren't dead.

"I still don't understand why you're using tea to time us." Sora huffed. "Sora, you shouldn't question the wise training methods of Sensei Wu!' Arin said. " I have every right to question them! Using tea to time us is ridiculous! Just use a clock!"

"It's the same method Master Wu used to train Kai, and by default the others," Nya said, walking towards the group. "At least that's what he told me, I was captured by skeletons the entire time!"

"What was that like?" Arin with starry eyes which caused him to get side eyed by Sora.

"Let's see I remember being hungry, sleep-deprived, and just flat-out annoyed," Nya said sweetly with a hint of malice which scared everyone in proximity.

"That's rough-" Lloyd began "Don't finish your sentence." Nya shushed Lloyd and he just ran inside.

"Ugh, I'm tired from training." Sora looked over at Arin "Arin you wanna go to the crossroads and do literally anything!"

"Oh come on Sora, didn't you learn your lesson from last time!" Arin sighed

"There's no way we'll get attacked by some random villain again, plus if Nya comes it'll be fine right?" Sora said innocently.

"Weh?" Nya stopped walking and turned back. "Please Nya :3!" Sora asked, starry-eyed. "Please Nya :3," Arin asked as well. He was very excited at the possibility of hanging out with one of the ninjas other than Lloyd.

"It's been a while since I've been around so many human beings, I'm not sure if it's a good idea."

"And that's why you should go to the crossroads, to re-adjust to society!" "Plus you'll be able to get away from Kai and Wyldfire for a little while longer!"

The two looked at her with puppy dog eyes similar to that of her Yang's. At this point, she knew she couldn't say no. "Alright, fine." "Yes! "Here we go to the crossroads!" Sora cheered. She took Arin's hand and turned around to take Nya's.

Nya looked at her surroundings with awe. The crossroads were so big and so diverse. Skeletons, Snakes, Munce, and even Merlopians. How it brought back memories.

"Oh look, that's our old penthouse!" Arin pointed upward. "Oh yeah, we didn't have much time to clean it out after the whole Claws of Imperium thing." Sora looked up.

" You guys had a penthouse?" Nya asked curiously.

"Yes, our very own penthouse! I came here right after the merge and that's when I met Sora" Arin cheered.

"Before we met Riyu and Lloyd we were living here! We worked so hard to win the Mech Master 5000 and finally have some money! That way I could have my very own garage and laboratory, and Arin could build his own monastery of Spinjitzu." Arin gave Sora a playful nudge.

Nya looked up at the penthouse and thought of her parents' blacksmith shop. She remembered the simple time, working with her brother in the smithy. Just the two of them. However, a question was brought to the girl's mind. Did she ever have a dream? Did she ever want to do something before she joined the ninja?

Nya remembered the conversation she had with Jay.

"Well, what do you want to do?" "I don't know, but having the power to choose for myself is enough."

It had been many years since that conversation yet it was still vivid in Nya's mind. What did Nya want to do? Except be with Jay of course. Jay.

"Oh, look over there!" Arin pointed to a shiny board that got Nya out of her daze.

"Ka-ra-o-ke" Sora spelled out confused. "Ka-ree-o-kay! You know where people got to sing songs!" Arin explained.

"That's..a thing?" "Yes!" Arin said, hitting Sora's metallic arm. "The only thing Imperium had was a national anthem to salute the great Empress Beatrix," Sora said, waiving Arin away.

"So you didn't have singing in Imperium!" Arin yelled.

"Or dancing?" Nya also yelled which got some stares. "Usually only in private, so Nope."

"Well, that explains why you sing so loud when you're working on your inventions." Arin winked.

"Hey!" Sora said, turning red. "I've always wanted to go karoaking!" And that's when he took off.

"Arin, come back!" Sora cried. Sora looked back at Nya and spoke quietly. "Have you ever been karaoking before?" She was still red from before.

"I have, with the other ninja. Of course, it got interrupted by a villain." Nya sighed at the memory.

She remembered singing as loud as she wanted to and right to her was Jay- "Gah!"

"Are you okay Nya?" Sora looked at Nya, concerned.

"I'm fine. "Nya lied. "Let's go after Arin."

Sora looked concerned but didn't say anything.

Nya and Sora walked into the venue and saw a giddy Arin.

"Come on ladies, I got us a room let's go!" And he ran into a room.

"Did he just call us?" Sora began. "Ladies?" Nya finished. "He must be more excited than I thought!" Sora shook her head.

Nya and Sora finally entered the velvet blue room and Arin was already trying to figure out how the karaoke machine worked.

"Sora, help me, please. This karaoke machine is too complicated!" He whined like a 5-year-old.

Sora tapped on the screen and a list of songs showed up. "Heh, thank you." Arin smiled and turned on the music. "Now let's get this party started!"

While Arin was singing loudly, Nya and Sora decided to order some food. They decided to order some ice cream sundaes. Nya especially enjoyed eating something creamy, sweet, and cold compared to the mud she had been eating previously.

"Sora, let's sing something together!" Arin held out a mic.

"Uhm, no thanks?" "Come on, I know you can sing!" Arin teased. Sora turned slightly red and just took the mic without thinking.

(Music TIME!)

Arin: They see you as small and helpless

Sora: They see you as just a child

Arin: Surprise when they find out that a warrior will soon run wild.

Nya was still eating her ice cream and was just content listening to the two best friends sing their hearts out. Nya was still reminiscing the time the ninja all went karoking at Dareth's place after they had "defeated" the Sons of Garmadon when she was holding hands with Jay. Jay.

Sora: Prepare for your greatest moments/Prepare for your finest hour.

Arin: The dream that you've always dreamed of is suddenly about to flower!

Both: We are lightning/ Straying from the Thunder

At that moment something just came over Nya. Clang! Sora quickly looked over to see the split ice cream on the floor and Nya shaking on the ground. Arin however was still singing loudly and didn't seem to notice.

Arin: Miracles of ancient wonder!

"Are you okay Nya?" Sora said, kneeling. Arin finally noticed Sora had stopped singing and looked

over.Nya stopped shaking and just laughed.

"Whoops, how clumsy of me. I'll go get some napkins to clean this up."

"No worries, I'll get some for you!" Arin quickly hustled out of the room.

Sora sat down next to the master of water who just turned away.

"Are you feeling okay, Nya?" Sora faced Nya.

"Yeah I told you, I was just being clumsy." Nya just laughed again but this time Sora could hear the pain in her voice. Sora nudged closer and asked again. "Nya?"

"Did it have something to do with us singing?" Nya tensed up.

"Does it have something to do with Jay?" Nya clenched her fist but not in anger.

"You got me." Nya sighed and patted Sora on the head which was received with a huff.

"I've just had time to think. What if we never find him? What if we're separated for the rest of our lives? What if he's-" Nya stopped when she felt arms wrapped around her.

"I'm not good at comforting people but Arin does this to help me so," Sora just snuggled in closer.

"We will find Jay and the other ninja! That's a promise!" Sora clasped her hands around Nya's and

held them tight.

Nya couldn't help but see the gesture as adorable and wanted to pat Sora's head again but she restrained herself enough.

"Thank you, Sora," Nya turned to face the girl. "I feel much better." "Oh thank goodness. I was getting really worried."

That's when the door opened to reveal Arin wrapped in paper towels.

"Arin, how in the name the FSM, did you get wrapped up in all that?" Sora began unwrapping the paper.

"See, I was getting some paper towels, then when I finished I may have tripped, bundling me up in all these paper towels," Arin said sheepishly.

"You're clumsier than I thought." Sora giggled, finally setting the boy free.

The group cleaned up the ice cream and went back to karaoke.

"Hey Nya, why don't you sing?' Arin asked. He wanted to hear her sing. "I couldn't I-" Arin and Sora

gave her the puppy dog eyes again.

"Okay, fine." She took a microphone and looked for anything she could sing.

She stopped at the song Arin and Sora were singing and decided to finish it.

(Let's do this one more time!)

Nya: Your world needs a great defender.

Sora: Your world's in the way of harm

Nya: You want a romantic life of fairytale that's full of charm!

Arin: Beware the light is fading!/ Beware as the dark

returns!

Nya & Sora: This world's unforgiving! Even brilliant

lights will cease to burn!

All: Legends Scatter!

Arin & Sora: Day and night will sever! Hope and peace are lost forever!

The group finally finished and laughed. Arin and Sora fell to the ground, exhausted, for the second time today."

"Guys, you're scaring me. All we did was sing a bit!" Nya put down the mic nervously.

"Then why did it feel like an hour-long cardio workout!" Sora huffed " That was amazing!" Arin cheered. "You've got a great singing voice Nya!"

"Thanks" Nya turned red.

Sora saw Nya smiling, laughing, and singing as if she did not just have a mental breakdown moments ago. She was glad Nya was feeling better and prayed Jay would come back soon. Sora wanted Nya to smile happily as she did when she was just talking about him. Who knows how happy she'll be when she finally sees Jay?
