"…And this is why I believe that the way we teach muggle studies needs to change… Thank you so much for listening!" A crowd suddenly exploded as they started to clap and scream after a young man gave his speech in the central square of Diagon Alley.
Harry Potter, the vanquisher of the dark lord, the boy who lived, the man who conquered, and among many other titles, greeted the people who had just listened to his speech, the people seemed happy and he was happy to greet them.
The life of the dark-haired wizard has been filled with a lot of trouble, before he was born a prophecy set him up for trouble, he was supposed to die at the hands of the strongest and darkest wizard in decades, but surprisingly, thanks to his family's sacrifice, he was able to survive from the death curse.
After that, Harry had a rough life while growing up with his relatives, he thought that no matter how much he tried, happiness was something he would never achieve or at least that's what he thought until the day he was told that he was a wizard, this gave him a new chance for happiness and he was happy while he attended a magical school even if he found himself getting into too much trouble, those were still happy times.
However, happiness didn't last for too long because Harry the target of the wizard who killed his parents, the necromancer wasn't dead by any chance he was just temporarily gone, so, Harry had to become strong to face him once again, and after so many sacrifices from people dear to him, he was able to defeat him.
All these years had taught Harry a lot of things about human nature and especially about the magical people's nature, it made him realize that Voldemort was not only a consequence of his own actions but also a consequence of the ignorance of the people who gave him power, now, he's not trying to justify him, he was already fucked up and his heritage didn't help at all, he was beyond saving.
Now, a fool like Voldemort wouldn't be too successful in the muggle world after WWII of course, but due to the ignorance of wizards and their prejudices against muggles, they weren't able to foresee what someone like Voldemort could cause in their world, not only he caused terror, horror and misery, but he also gave power to the most fucked up characters in the world, people who should've been executed a long time ago were working alongside him.
That's why after the war, Harry went back to Hogwarts to finish his studies as soon as he could, he wanted to change the world, and to do that he needed to take a step further and different from what people expected of him.
An Auror? That was on his mind. Funding charities? He founded a few but that was too limiting for him, he needed more to change the world. Force people with his strength to act in the way he wanted them to act? It was a crazy suggestion but he never took it seriously.
No, the new path Harry has chosen is being some kind of politician, he's not affiliated with a party and neither with the ministry, but that doesn't stop him from traveling across the country to spread a different message, one that could prevent the existence of another Voldemort, and it has to do with the rights of those muggle-born raised magical people as not only those coming from muggle parents are subject to discrimination but also those who have only one direct magical relative are subjected to the same discrimination.
Harry realized that this stigma was the product of ignorance, and two years after the war, the younger man can't help but feel satisfied with the progress that has been happening ever since he started giving free conferences across the country to inform people about the reality of muggles, debunking a lot of myths and most of all, to try to erase the stigma and fear many magical people have about them.
It's crazy to see that even pureblood families have been joining his conferences and it makes him happy to see a lot of aristocratic families doing that too, it seems like the war truly changed everyone but at least Harry's happy that the event changed people in a good way.
After all, magical people have no reason to feel scared about muggles, the only power muggles possess to overcome a wizard or witches are guns, it has been previously studied and it has been concluded that no matter how fast you can apparate away from someone with a gun, bullets are able to reach magical people, even if they fast, however, compared with the number of muggles in the world, a very tiny proportion of them possess those weapons, so, as long as you don't look suspicious, you don't have to worry about being attacked by them.
Still, even if things are going great right now, it's not enough for Harry, he wants his message to reach further places, and he wants more people to listen to him, it is usually said that ignorance is bliss but in this case, it's a curse because magical people don't have the need to overcome their ignorance, they can easily ditch society and live in their own in the forest without interacting with anyone in the world and they'd be fine even with their prejudices they can live normal lives.
That's why the younger man has found himself with some obstacles throughout his short career and most of those obstacles are coming from the elders of the ministry, the ones who need to approve every law, every reform, or any other major change in the British magical society, and they are very stubborn.
Harry has been accused of being a rioter, an anarchist, an anti-magical person, they've been using a lot of defamatory terms just to dirty his image, even after everything he did after the war, but Harry's not surprised considering that those old people in the ministry did nothing against Voldemort, they were happy as long as they kept their privileges.
Still, Harry's not scared, and he's happy to see that the people in the world don't eat all the lies they tell about him and it's weird, the more the government elders try to cancel him, the more popular he becomes, so, Harry doesn't care as long as his message gets spread, and if he has become quite popular lately it's all thanks to the press who has been spreading his message in the hopes of making him look bad, this actually had an opposite effect.
The only ones scandalized about his message are those very few powerful families in magical Britain, and you can count those families with the fingers of your hands, they aren't a lot, the commoner pureblood families seem to be more inclined to listen to him, it's hard to make them forget about their fears but they are more open to hearing him.
And it makes sense because in the magical world, even for pureblood families it's normal to have at least one half-blood friend, the world has tried to tell those people to forget about their muggle heritage but thanks to Harry, they start to see a light in the tunnel, and this is a danger for those elders because most of the magical population consists in muggle-born and half-blood magical people, so, Harry can see why the government sees him as a threat.
"That was a great speech Harry," A brown-haired woman around his age said as she followed him behind the backstage.
"Thank you Mione, wizards and witches can tell that this movement is real, this is what happens when you're honest with them," Harry said with a smile on his face.
It didn't take too long for him and Hermione to apparate into a building to discuss the next thing in their schedule, the brown-haired woman was trying to build a political career too, she was expecting to join the ministry under Kingsley Shacklebolt, the problem here is that he suddenly got removed by the elders for some reason and another minister was put in his place, someone Harry and Hermione never had the chance to meet, not even after everything they did during the war.
Her name is Amelia Bones, and she was presumably dead after an attack from the death eaters outside of her home, this is what the public knew, the truth was that she ended up in a comma and she woke up after the war ended, some people think that she was actually kidnapped and brainwashed by the secret government to put someone they could control in power that's why the timing was too specific but for Harry and Hermione that sounded too fantastical, like something taken out of a tv show.
Right now Harry and Hermione are outside the minister's office waiting for an appointment made a few months ago, despite his fame and what he has been doing lately, Harry hasn't been able to have a conversation with the current minister, but today he was hopeful he was finally going to get granted that meeting with her.
"I'm sorry Mr. Potter, the appointment has been canceled due to some national security concerns," the secretary said and Harry couldn't help but feel surprised.
"What? But we were promised that if we were patient with the long process we would be granted a meeting with the minister!" Harry couldn't believe it.
He hasn't been able to get a meeting with Amelia Bones and he can't even approach her outside of the ministry duties because she's always surrounded by guards and it seems like she doesn't talk with anyone which makes things more difficult for him, least now when she's too occupied with the reparations after the war, and yet, he still felt this was a ridiculous situation.
"You're never going to get that appointment with that attitude Mr. Potter," an old wizard suddenly said, he was part of the secret government.
"Mr. Parkinson, please, the minister is waiting for you," the secretary said to a man whom Harry and Hermione knew was Pansy Parkinson's grandfather.
The pair remained frustrated at the sight of the old man meeting the minister without any trouble, this wasn't fair, this was clear sabotage and Harry wanted to fight over this, however, his best friend suddenly stopped him, he calmed and soon they decided to leave this place to go on their own ways, this has been a tiring day and they needed to think about a better plan to approach the minister, Harry went back to his place and even in the comfort of his home, he was still angry.
Harry was so frustrated with this situation, things weren't supposed to be like this, he had been asking for an audience with the minister ever since he started this journey, but it seemed like someone had been stopping her from meeting him, Harry was going insane but then, he heard someone knocking on his door.
He grabbed his wand and looked at the peephole and his eyes suddenly widened, he opened the door as fast as he could and he was surprised to find an older blonde woman wearing a tight black mini skirt, black high heels, and a tight white blouse, she was wearing black glasses and her lips were painted in deep red.
"Narcissa Malfoy?" Asked Harry with complete confusion.
The older woman only smirked at his reaction before clarifying her voice.
"Black Harry, please, It's Black and not Malfoy now," she corrected the younger man and he only nodded. "Can I speak with you, Harry? It's about your problems with the minister," her words made Harry quickly come back to reality, he shook his head and nodded at her.
"What? How did you—" Harry couldn't even complete his question when the older woman was already inside his home.
"That's something you shouldn't worry about now Harry… You have a long way ahead of you if you want to speak with the minister… But I can help you," the questions he had about the older woman suddenly died once he heard that.
He nodded at her, he wanted to help as much as he could even if he had to agree with ridiculous stuff, this was what he wanted, this was his new purpose in life, so, he closed the door and got ready to hear what she had to say about this.
