Author's Notes: Hi, readers. Here's chapter five of "Not Here III: Going Around." This chapter has some Andros/Ashley. The graduation ceremony will be in the next few chapters. Other characters will be introduced as well. I have never written down a graduation ceremony. However, I do remember my own. The valedictorian usually speaks first before any other students do. That is if they are asked to give speeches. Stay tuned for chapter six.

Chapter 5: Getting Testy

Kayla was sitting on the living room couch. She had her head propped up by her elbow on the arm. Jurassic Park was still on. The scene where Rexy pushed the car over the ridge came on. She rubbed her chin before scratching her knee. She heard footfalls and turned toward the stairs. She could see Ben coming down them. He went toward her, an angry expression showing on his face. He stopped next to her.

"You should have kept your mouth shut regarding the nursery," Ben scolded.

"I was just trying to offer a suggestion, Ben," Kayla said defensively.

"We had an agreement none of us would say anything regarding the twins," Ben responded, holding up a finger. "You dishonored it without thinking twice."

"Excuse me for not honoring it," Kayla snapped, jumping to her feet. "There is nothing wrong with making a suggestion about something, especially when it comes to our granddaughter."

"No, there isn't. At the same time, agreements are meant to be honored," Ben pointed out and flared his nostrils. "You don't break them on a whim just because of your feelings."

"I see what you are saying," Kayla commented while holding out her hands. "Still, I wanted to offer my opinion."

"Just stop it. You can't keep causing tension for Ashley," Ben said, his hand curling into a fist. "If you do anything that embarrasses her, I will tell the family everything that has been going with us and Gerald over the past couple of years."

"No," Kayla said, shaking her head rapidly. "Please, don't do that. It would kill her knowing what has been going on."

"Then you must promise me you will behave yourself during the rest of the time we are here, especially at the graduation ceremony," Ben insisted.

Kayla sighed heavily and looked away. She whispered inaudible words as she blinked three times. Ben cleared his throat while crossing his arms. She turned back to him, giving him a nod. He tilted his head, his tongue running all over the inside of his mouth.

"I promise," Kayla whispered.

"I can't hear you," Ben answered in a somewhat irritated voice.

"I promise!" Kayla yelled and scoffed loudly. She threw up her hands with a quiet snort. "Is that better?"

"Yes, it is," Ben agreed. "Now, you will come with me and apologize to Andros and Ashley."

She pressed her lips together. "All right."

He waved his hand toward himself. "Come on."

Ben and Kayla walked upstairs and into the nursery. They stopped before Andros and Ashley, who stood next to the cradles. Ashton, Anna, and Gerald were near the window with the rocking chair. They looked toward the others, their bodies shaking somewhat.

"I am sorry for critiquing the nursery, Andros, Ashley. It was wrong of me to do so," Kayla apologized.

"Thank you, Grandma," Ashley responded with a nod.

Kayla eyed the cradles. "I have to say the cradles do look nice. I never saw this type when I was growing up."

"We felt these cradles would be much better than the other type was. They can be taken apart easily as well," Andros pointed out truthfully.

"When will you move the twins to cribs?" Kayla wondered.

"We will move them to cribs when they are four months old," Ashley replied and put her hands together.

"That is a good age for cribs," Kayla commented. "Just remember to put the babies on their backs. Putting them on their stomachs increases the likelihood of SIDS."

"We know, Mrs. Hammond. We've been reading up on it," Andros said while putting his hands behind his back.

Ben chuckled. "You two are always thinking ahead."

"I do have a question. What are you going to do about breastfeeding? It can be quite tricky to feed two babies that way," Gerald said as he came over to her.

"We have that covered. We agreed I would pump breastmilk for both babies, so they can get an equal share. There is a chance one baby will be able to digest breastmilk while the other can't. We will have to wait and see," Ashley explained.

"Kids are not a one-size-fits-all package," Ashton said, coming to his father-in-law's side along with Anna. "Every kid has their own needs, wants, likes, and dislikes."

Anna crossed her arms. "The first kid is a learning experience. The second kid is much easier."

"In Andros and Ashley's case, the twins will be twice the learning experience. It is not every day teen parents raise two babies, especially when they are a couple," Ashton added.

"The fathers skip out on their children too often. The mothers are forced to raise them on their own," Andros said, frowning a bit.

Ashley wrapped her arm around his and laid her head on his shoulder. "You are not like those buttheads. You are willing to be there for our children."

Andros pulled his arm out of Ashley's grasp. He slipped it around her shoulder and gave her a hug. She wrapped her arms around his waist. He kissed her temple twice. Kayla went over to the first cradle. She proceeded to rock it at a slow pace.

"I have no doubt the babies will be lulled to sleep quickly while they are rocked like this," Kayla commented.

"We do not doubt that either," Andros commented while touching his cap.

"Do you plan to take the children to KO-35 for a visit at some point?" Ben wondered very curiously. "I have not heard anything about babies going on interstellar trips."

"We do plan to take them there, Grandpa, but it won't be until they are past six months old. We feel taking them earlier than that will be detrimental to their health, especially since they will be building up immunity to various diseases," Ashley explained.

"That is understandable," Gerald whispered as he cupped his chin in his hand. "You need to do what is best for your children. No one should tell what you should or shouldn't do."

"For example, do not listen to people telling you that kids should not see movies such as Bambi, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Toy Story, and others due to scary content. You should let your kids watch them. That is if they are able to handle them," Gerald said, his voice being low yet firm.

"I never saw any of those movies until recently. I have to admit some were a bit dark, especially since they were geared toward kids," Andros admitted and chuckled nervously.

"In Walt Disney's day, animation was not considered just for kids. They were considered for everyone. That is why many Tom and Jerry shorts had a lot of over-the-top violence. The same went for Looney Tunes. Then someone decided animation should only be for kids," Anna commented, her voice quieting to a whisper on the last two words.

"Gargoyles went right back to Disney's roots. It was dark and violent. There were even occasional depictions of blood," Ashley said, holding out her hand. "It actually dove into issues such as racism and prejudice. Neither humans nor gargoyles were portrayed as completely innocent. Both species were shown to be very flawed."

"I know some parents were not happy that show had dark and violent images. They want Disney to be completely child-friendly. Why not cater to older fans too? They want stuff meant for them. That show is perfect for them," Ashton said.

"It is good older Disney fans have stuff meant for them. At the same time, people should not be exposed to too much violence. This is especially true for children. It will desensitize them to the point they will not care anymore," Kayla pointed out in seriousness.

"We know, Grandma. Mom and Dad gave us that lecture," Ashley said, rolling her eyes. She grabbed a handful of hair. "We have every intention of talking to our children about what they watch on TV and how they cannot imitate actions depicted there."

"I was just giving you a reminder. You did not have to be rude," Kayla retorted with a glare.

"Well, we do not need to be reminded of things regarding the kids all the time," Ashley hissed. "It gets irritating. Being pregnant is not helping matters, especially when it comes to you."

Ashley walked out of the nursery. She went downstairs to the living room couch. She sat down at a slow pace. She laid her hands on her stomach. She sniffled as the twins kicked against them. She looked up, seeing Andros coming down the stairs. He went to her side, sitting down.

"Hey, you okay?" Andros asked.

"I guess so," Ashley mumbled while wiping a tear from her eye. "I am sorry for snapping like that in front of everyone up there. I was just not in the mood for constant reminders about exposing kids to violence."

"No one blames you for that. Your hormones are screwed up right now," Andros said, running his hand over her stomach. "You can't control your mood swings. You've thrown things at me during a few of them. You apologized every time."

"Yeah," Ashley agreed. "I should be happy my grandparents are back in my life, but I am not. I don't think I will ever be after what they said. It's going to hurt for a very long time."

He touched the back of her head. "Everyone understands. We still need to try to get along, especially since this is our last day as high school students."

"You, Zhane, and Karone started high school in the junior year. That is not something someone can brag about every day," Ashley said, tickling his chin.

"I am proud to have attended high school with you and your friends. Zhane and Karone are too. I do not think I will ever know a better principal than Mr. Kaplan," Andros commented, forming a frown on his face. "Angel Grove High won't be the same without him."

"I know, right?" Ashley said with a giggle. "It is not easy running a school with hundreds of students. A principal can't be everywhere at once. Neither can teachers and other faculty members."

"Right," Andros agreed.

She giggled. "I am proud to be right."

Andros and Ashley heard a clearing throat. They spotted Kayla coming down the stairs. She went to them after she reached the bottom. She tilted her head, her eyebrows raising.

"Ashley, I would like to apologize. I should not have said what I said," Kayla said guiltily.

"Thank you. I am sorry for snapping. My hormones are just—" Ashley started.

"Screwed up," Kayla finished, nodding. She ran her tongue all over the inside of her mouth. "I know. Every pregnant woman has mood swings. I had them during my pregnancies. So did your other grandmother and your mother."

"I can't say I am surprised," Ashley said, placing her hands on the couch and pushing herself up. She placed them on her back and straightened it slowly. She eyed Andros as he stood up. "I have no doubt you all had back pains like I did."

"Oh, we did," Kayla admitted. "Of course, yours would be worse because you are carrying twins."

"Jesse and Becky made a bet he couldn't last one day pretending to be pregnant using a sympathy pad in Full House. The winner could use the wallpaper he or she wanted as they had been arguing over it. Andros and I didn't argue over any wallpaper. We agreed on the same type," Ashley explained.

"It was not worth arguing over," Andros said with a shrug. "It was a small thing."

"Small things should not be worth arguing over," a male voice said.

Andros, Ashley, and Kayla glanced upward, seeing Ashton, Anna, Ben, and Gerald standing on the stairs. Ashley touched her tassel. She twirled her finger around it.

"How long have you all been standing there, Dad?" Ashley wondered.

"Long enough to hear you talk about Jesse and Becky's bet," Ashton said, coming down along with his wife, father, and father-in-law. They stopped before the trio. "We know what happened with that bet."

"Jesse thought he was clever to get Danny to watch the door, so he could take off the pad and relieve his back pain. He had no idea Becky was coming up behind him," Anna said, snickering under her breath.

"She started to massage him. He thought Danny was doing that. He asked who was watching the door. Danny answered he was. She asked Jesse to take a guess who was behind him. He realized who it was," Ben commented, furrowing his brow.

Ashton held up his hands. "Jesse rushed to put the pad back on. Becky told him that was not how it worked because she could unstrap her bump. She announced he lost and that the wallpaper would be 'Fun at the Circus.' She said the nursery would be full of clowns laughing at him."

"There is no doubt he imagined those laughing clowns," Andros murmured.

"Many people do not want to have others laughing at them," Kayla said and cleared her throat. "It is hurtful."

"People have laughed at me over my huge baby bump. They have even called me fat. I don't care. I do not mind carrying all this extra weight, even if it hurts my back at times. It is mostly water weight. I will lose most of it in the first few postpartum weeks," Ashley explained.

Anna smacked her lips. "True."

Ben pointed his finger at the kitchen. "Let's go get something to drink. We have some time before the graduation ceremony."

The entire group walked toward the kitchen. It didn't noticed a house sparrow flying by the window.
