Living (with Problems)
So far, Living in the little hub known as Menagerie left Logan at peace, with the people more welcoming to him after his one man hunt of the Grimm, More commonly the Capivara, on the Island a month ago or two, and during that time the Faunus of the island set up buildings on the beaches and Oasis with the help of Kali's Mother whose voice reminded Logan of the actress Salma Hayek except with cat ears.
The once mass of tents sooner became a hub of business with the Faunus, knowing Logan killed the entire Grimm population, spread out through the island to gather resources, with Logan upon returning to the new Kuo Kuana city, was left to Kali who had taken to showing him the city, ad to his surprise, found a statue of himself holding a Beowolf's head on the floor while his left hand held his infamous claws.
Below the statue on a silver plaque, were the words of his name.
"James Howlett, Saviour of Menagerie" feeling a gentle hand on his left bicep, Logan turned to the smiling face of Kali, her amber eyes entrancing his blue before he cleared his throat at the, tender moment before the two continued the tour, with Kali showing him the area for the aquatic Faunus, Logan merely hummed at the speed they got this all up during his absence.
Following Kali to a Hut on the outskirt of Kuo Kuana, Logan snapped his right hand to catch a, House key.
Looking to Kali, she smiled as she nodded to the door, making Logan step forward to open the door, and seeing the empty inside, Kali spoke.
"My mother and I know that you don't have anything, so we and the other Faunus pitched in to help you settle" seeing her fidget with a blush growing on her face, Logan spoke with a sad smile.
"Thank you, Kali" turning to the cat Faunus, she moved a strand of her hair to the side with smile at herself, the two moved about in a comfortable silence with Logan setting up a room in the back, Logan and Kali kept fumbling playfully with Kali giggling as he was thrown onto a bed after they set up the room, Logan smirked at the woman who seemingly is managing to get through his heart.
Before long the two were out the front of the Hut staring over the city from the vantage point the hill provided, Logan and Kali enjoyed the setting sun with Kali beside Logan with a yawn.
Feeling her lean against him, Logan gave an amused look as she settled against him.
"So peaceful" getting a hum from Kali, the cat looked up to his smile with her own.
"You make it sound like you never got any peace where your from?" looking down at her, his eyes gained a pang of sadness as his lifted his left arm up, his claws sliding out from his knuckles with nothing but a "Shink" the usual pain nothing but a memory as he stared at his own reflection, where a younger face stared back.
Seeing Kali reach up to carefully run her fingers along the flat edge, she spoke.
"One day you'll tell me how you got these, right?" looking down to his friend, Logan spoke with a smile.
"Sure, maybe by that time you'll grow taller than me" getting a giggle from Kali, she slowly but surely dozed off to sleep.
Feeling his own eyes begin to droop, Logan stifled a yawn as he began to doze off himself before his body froze up as adrenaline pumped through his ears, the sounds of struggling echoed from the nearby tropical forest, Logan stood up carefully to set Kali down as she snored lightly, Logan looked to the trees with his nose catching a myriad of scents.
Moving to the sounds of struggling, Logan sooner found a camp… with Faunus in cages with collars on they're necks, a campfire was shown in the middle where a woman Kali's age was being taunted by a large man in safari attire, his most notable trait was the belt of collars on his legs.
"Come on little tiger, show some of those pearlies" getting a growl form the woman, Logan spotted more men move into sight with kids chained up behind them, one spoke.
"How much do you think the SDC will pay for this bunch for the dust mines?" Logan's eyes focused as his claws slid from they're natural sheaths, he failed to notice a shadow follow him as he moved through the grass.
Sneaking up on a pissing Slaver, his throat was seized before three claws struck out below his chin, blood spurted from the wound before his head was ripped off, his body was left to rot as Logan moved on, taking out patrolling slavers as discreetly as possible, the Tiger Faunus by the head honcho tugged the collar around her neck with a growl, the slaver smiled at her futile attempt to escape, especially with the muzzle over her mouth, for a brief moment her eyes met Logan's with surprise before she schooled her features, her noticeable tiger stripes visible from his angle behind the two, Logan took the last Slaver out with his ribcage, Logan stepped out of hiding with the trapped Faunus perking up at his presence, even the blood on his hands.
"Hey bub!?" getting a jump from the slaver who turned to him, his eyes widened in alarm at the dead bodies left in the open around him, Logan spoke.
"How do you want to do this, Peacefully, or violently, your choice" gesturing to the Slaver who looked to his dead comrades, he turned to the Tiger Faunus beside him before looking back, moving to grab the woman, a large man landed behind him with a growl, turning in alarm, a large clawed hand grabbed his head and lifted him off the ground, leaving the Tiger Faunus staring as the Slaver kicked and punched to try and get free, he gave a pain filled scream as his skull gained a crack despite his aura present.
The Slaver's attempts sooner faded away with his life as his Skull cracked open to drown his brain in blood and bone shards.
Staring at the death, Logan stood tensed as ever as the man before him stared back with a fanged smile, his eyes showed hunger for a fight with a hint of tiredness within, a mane of blonde hair that matched his namesake, Sabretooth towered over those present.
Looking down to the Tiger Faunus before him, Logan tensed up to be ready in case he tried to kill her until he saw the larger man grab her collar and snap it off, leaving her unharmed before he rubbed his head against her own, giving a purr like sound, Logan tensed up as Victor Creed spoke from his spot.
"I never got to thank you, when you got me away from Viper" turning to Logan as he helped the Tiger Faunus to her feet, Logan shrugged as Victor moved to the cages to free the Faunus inside.
"We never really got a chance to grab a beer after that, and I was dead if you didn't know" getting a low rumble that sounded like a chuckle from Victor, he turned to Logan calmly?.
"Seems we all have the problem of not staying dead, Logan" getting a snort from the Canadian, he sheathed his claws as the Faunus relaxed.
"Victor, most of these people need medical attention, the children the most" turning to the Tiger Faunus as she knelt beside a Hyena Faunus, Victor went to speak if not for Logan.
"We have a hospital in Kuo Kuana, the idiots that were going to sell you didn't really care how close they were to the new city on Menagerie, you'll get all the care you need" getting hopeful looks from the Faunus, Victor stared at Logan who kept eye contact, the feral man did the one thing Logan never expected to hear or see.
"Thank you, Logan" giving a nod, Logan gave one back as he began leading the Faunus to the city, where Kali and her mother stunned by the amount of wounded present.
Turning to Logan and Victor, Kali's Mother who Logan now remembered was called Salena, spoke curtly to the duo.
"Explain in extreme detail"
Sharing a look, Victor spoke with Salena turning to him with sharp eyes.
"The SDC was looking for fresh meat for the Dust mines, ever since Nicholas Schnee was forced to retire his Cowards of a Son-in-law took over, changing things for the worse for Faunus" crossing his arms, he smirked as he gave an after thought.
"I also may have stolen his supposed wives first child package" getting an incredulous look from Salena, she looked to logan who shrugged.
"Don't look at me, I only just met the guy after freeing him from a broad who likes green too much" getting a bark of a laugh from Victor, the larger man brought Logan into a noogie.
