More chapters with more stuff. Janus makes an appearance to help Alice grow some confidence and find herself that she lost. Some action sequences are going to come up. Claire and Alice scene's will leave but come back shortly. They just need to figure some stuff out first. This is an story made for them after all. Comments and criticism is always welcome. Again, sorry for any grammar mistakes. I tried to make this all make sense. As I have learned, just because it makes sense in my head, doesn't always mean it make sense on paper. With that being said, Hope you readers enjoy.

Chapter 4

One door opens, another shuts.

"Hey Stranger," Janus speaks, pushing herself off the corner of the table away from appeared to be a map. Janus looks the same as when Alice last saw her, except for her longer, lighter hair, swept up in a ponytail. That is the only known physical difference between the two, apart from Alice's missing fingers.

"Omg, I thought..." Tears escaping Alice's eyes for the second time that day. "I thought you died in Japan." Janus smiled and wiped away a happy tear. Carefully, Alice took Janus into an embrace, noticing her wound.

"Who shot you?" Alice stepped back, surveying her twin, and looked up at Jill.

Jill scoffed holding up her hands in innocence, "Tehh... First off, I do not miss, and secondly you know me better than that, Alice."

Rolling her eyes at Jill's feigned annoyance, Alice looked back at Janus. "Mr. X is fast and strong. I should have been healing by now, but I seem to have lost a step in my youthful age." Janus provided.

A look of concern crossed Alice's features. "The anti-virus must be making its way here already." Looking up at two confused faces, Alice sighed, deciding to catch everyone up on things since they last saw each other.

Minutes passed as the trio caught up. Claire studied the group while learning what had happened to everyone since her capture and escape from Arcadia. It felt like old friends catching up at a high school reunion. A pang of longing hit Claire as she dearly missed her brother Chris. Anger flashed over Claire, "Fuck Umbrella."

She didn't think lightning would strike twice, but with the odds in Claire's favor, she kept encountering one lone wolf. Every time she was reunited with Alice, warmth spread across her heart, momentarily stilling her worrying thoughts. Jill's comment interrupted Claire's train of thought.

"Wow fucking wow," Jill said, bewildered.

"Makes sense, as to why I am no longer healing as fast. Do you think I also no longer have the T-virus? I feel no different." Before Alice could answer, Jill caught Claire off-guard with a sudden acknowledgment.

"Red," Jill said, focusing her eyes on Claire. "You wouldn't happen to be related to Chris Redfield now, would you?"

Panicked by the sudden revelation, "Yes, he is my brother! How do you know him? Do you know where he is?" Claire could not help but bombard with questions. Jill noticed and took it in stride, trying to answer all the questions. She aimed to alleviate Claire's concerns.

"Yes, he and a young kid named K-mart are not too far from here, we met up shortly after Umbrella Prime where I found Janus. She is the one who technically, and I do mean technically rescued me by removing the Spider scarab before our escape. After Prime we found a plane and fled. On Janus's recommendation we eventually found ourselves here by chance. Now, I feel like she's been keeping secrets from me." Jill said to which Janus offered nothing but a shrug in response.

Claire's heart began to swell with emotions she hadn't realized she was holding so close. She tried to stay calm and focused on the information presented. "So how close is he?"

"Hold on now Red. We still need to escape here. I do not think you realize this place is crawling with infected along with a giant fucker nicknamed Mr. X."

"Can't we just go back the way we came in?" Claire asked.

"Well.. it is not that easy Red" Jill tried to explain.

Alice interjected. "What is this Mr. X? We didn't encounter anyone other than an ooze ball and you guys so far."

"Mr. X also known as T-00 Tyrant is a B.O.W. He wears a fedora and a trench coat with the face of burned raisin, and that ooze ball is a scout looking for prey for Mr. X." informed Janus.

"What's this B.O.W, I keep hearing everyone talking about?" Claire asked, trying to ascertain the new enemies.

Janus sits quietly, letting Jill take the lead. She stared intently at Claire, and when Claire looked back, she smiled sheepishly, turning her head to Alice. Alice was standing there watching Janus, burrowing a hole in her head. Janus sat there, sporting a grin.

"Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W.) One of Umbrella's first improved mutation to the T-002 model Tyrant. Umbrella's intention was to sell B.O.W's as super soldiers," spoke the Red Queen.

Claire shuddered at the thought of mutated infected super soldier's named Tyrant freely roaming the streets.

Alice snickered "Well this rate about a ten on my 'what the fuck-o-meter'. A dapper super soldier dressed to kill."

"Alice, I should warn you, two B.O.W. Program Tyrant and Program Nemesis are near your current location," the Red Queen said through coms.

Startled by the Queenie's announcement, Jill and Alice cried in unison,

"Nemesis!"

"M-Matt?"

Janus stood up, recognizing whom they were referring to as she too remembers Matt through memories that seem foreign.

"Why the fuck is the Red Queen talking to you" Jill stared at Alice's hologram.

"Oh Queenie? Yes, she's now one of the good guys now," Alice said, ignoring Jill's indignant shock.

"That explains earlier," Jill remarked to Janus.

"Is that a map?" Alice pointed at the steel table where she originally found Jill and Janus.

Realizing this conversation needed to be saved for later in the comfort and safety of another location, Jill smirks "Yes, we were looking for a way out before we were rudely interrupted."

Janus and Claire follow Alice and Jill to the table.

"Queenie, I need you to scan exactly where the X man is and Matt. I..." Alice suddenly finds Janus's hand on her bandaged one. Alice knows what Janus is thinking and an unspoken conversation was held through their bond. Alice thought it would go away now that the T-virus within them was taken away. Janus caresses Alice's hand and then then let go, walking over standing next to Jill. Choking back the third wave of tears, Alice squares her shoulders nods and corrects herself.

"Queenie, where is Nemesis now?" Alice asked, looking back at the map.

Claire watched as a range of emotions crossed Alice's face during her and Janus' silent conversation. Claire realized that you did not need an interpreter to understand what was going on. Janus was silently reminding that Matt was no more and for Alice to forgive herself. Would Alice do that? No. But if anyone could make Alice understand, it was herself.

"Nemesis current location is in B2. I was able to lock some doors, slowing Nemesis's progression, but I do not believe the facilities condition they will hold." The Red Queen responded.

"And Mr. X?" Jill followed up with another question.

"B1," came a terse response.

"Shit..." whispered Jill.

"Is that bad?" asked Claire.

"Yes and No. B1 one is here," Jill pointed on the map. "This is one of the founder's rooms, previously used as a torture/gas chamber for its subjects. From here, we can use to our advantage as there is a bridge nearby that exits to this lake," Jill points on the left side of the map "This bridge takes us to an elevator that can take us to B2, where there is a private cable car that can take us out of here to NEST," Jill finished.

"I don't see what the issue is," Claire said, standing back and crossing her arms.

"B1 is where the B.O.W test subject are, and I am guessing two broke out while the others could be standing there waiting to greet us."

"A welcoming party," Alice stated, nodding in understanding. "Lovely."

"Right, so we have to deal with the potential B.O.W. test subjects with navigating to the bridge," Claire summarized, processing the plan.

"Exactly," Jill affirmed, glancing around the group. "We need to stay vigilant and stick together. We can't afford to be caught off guard."

Alice shifted her weight, feeling the burden of responsibility settling onto her shoulders. "Let's get moving then. The longer we stay here, the greater the risk."

Claire nodded in agreement; her expression determined.

"Lead the way."

Janus crossed the room to hand Alice a Beretta 92FS, also known as "Samurai Edge."

"For luck." She winked and exited the infirmary, taking point. Jill follows behind, leaving Alice and Claire alone in the infirmary.

Alice smiled at the gift and clicked the safety off, checking for ammunition. She walked over to Claire after seeing her stone-faced response.

"We will find your brother and K-mart, I promise," Alice said, reaching out tentatively to grab Claire's hand and gives it a squeeze before heading out. This shook Claire out of her thoughts. A lot has transpired over the last hour, and she is ready to get the hell out of this place and all things Umbrella.

Alice shows a lighthearted smile at her and waits for Claire at the door. With renewed determination, Claire returned the smile and walked out of the infirmary.

Note: The Beretta 92FS Brigadier is a weapon used by S.T.A.R.S. members. This weapon is found in the mansion in Resident Evil 0.
