Chapter 5: A Xenomorph Aftermath and Consequences
"Talking"
'Thinking'
"Xenomorph Screech/Yautja Roar"
'Xenomorph/Predator Thoughts'
(Description of Item/Person/Entity)
Okay then, that's the last holdout and managed to dragged the survivors towards the nest so I check the current Colony status and wasn't surprised by what I saw after all, the stupid Idiots kinda deserved it at this point
[Umbral Nites]
[Population: 0]
[Development: Ruined]
[Combat Readiness: None]
[Current Population Thoughts: None]
I wasn't surprised at this but, I was surprised at the None which meant that status for Combat readiness and thoughts though, I was pretty sure there wasn't exactly an opposite for them, I still had butchered an entire colony regardless I have over two thousand Drones ready to pop, fourteen more Aphids plus, after letting some of my drones grow back into warriors I had two hundred ready to pop after waiting for so that I decide to check my Hive Count tooltip
[Ovomorphs: 654]
[Facehuggers: 1,234]
[Tier 0: 30
[Tier 1: 196/0/0]
[Tier 2: 200/0/0/0/0/0]
[Tier 3: 0]
[Queen:1]
[Emperor: ½]
[Unknown: 0]
With this many, I was pleased with how many have drones and warriors I have, and decided to recheck my drone growth Tooltip since i wanted to refresh my memories of what I could create and what I couldn't create {Aphids*:Hatch Time - 1 Hour:Hp - Very Low: Spd - Low:Str - Very Low / Drone: 4-days Hp: low Spd: average: Str: Low / Runner-Drone: 6-days Hp: low Spd: High Str: low / Flying-Drone: 10-days Hp: low Spd: very high Str: very low}, {Warrior: 3-Days: Hp - high: Spd - average: Str - high / Spitter: 4-Days: Hp - low: Spd - average: Str - average}
After being reassured, I had turned the entirety of the underside of the Colony into a Xenomorph Paradise a.k.a a giant nest filled with Ovamorphs, Queen and Emperor and even with my limited Drone numbers I got to work very quickly, soon I finished in a little under 12 Hours the remainer of that time was to spread the resin, moving Queen Ruby, my half grown Emperor and the Ovamorphs down into it as, like the temporary Refinery Nest I had made the Queen's Chamber, Enough Kill pits to last two decades, Ovamorph chamber, Sleeping Quarters and more
I also, have some animals mostly some cats, oxen and dogs that I nabbed so I can turn into Runner-Drones since I saw on my tooltip that Runner-Drones hatch at the same time as Drones if I use actual animals instead of Humans so that was a plus, so I had gathered any remaining animals and had them impregnated so that way I could use in my growing hive which pleased me
I believe, I'll Have over 346 Runner-Drones by the time they pop alongside the Drones which was great since, they were faster than Drones so I could use them for flanking attacks and tight corridors to slaughter unsuspecting prey which was just a bonus
Deciding, to do something with my Aphids at home I send them to {Passive} and {Stealth} so I could send them out to scout out things with the rest of my Aphids which was would scout out the rest of the Planet
As they, went out and started to link up with rest of the Aphids I couldn't help wanting to do a double check on the spaceport since I didn't see a Aerospace transport in the spaceport since the shadows that make up the planet's atmosphere looks like they're heavy enough to mess up a pilot coming into and out of the atmosphere even if they were an experienced pilot it could still kill them so I was wondering why the hell did they have a spaceport if they couldn't breech atmo and even more importantly how they created the colony in the first place
Finally, after 3 days in a half I finally got my answer when my Aphids return from patrol that's as the scouting timer was pinging down to its final seconds and revealed the secret to this colony's existence
{Scouting Party Returns in: T - 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..}
...You Know, I was Disappointed in Umbral Nites because of its sleepy status but now that I see this colony I kinda wish for that sleepy status back, because wow, that's a lot of paranoia, but then again I did cause all that due to my attack on Umbral Nites
[Neo Twilight City]
[Population: 36,000,000+]
[Development: Light]
[Combat Readiness: Light]
[Defenses: High]
[Current Population Thoughts: Nervous/Paranoia]
Because, seriously, that is some scary stuff, I also learned I just wiped an expansion to a highly developed Colony not the main colony itself which... again isn't very good since I could see with my Editor Hand which is what I call the little thing that I can view the world with that looks like something you would see in an RTS the Entire Civilian half is nervous that contact has been lost and the militia who apparent hire Ex-Colonial marines as trainers are downright Paranoid
Plus, those defenses are just insane, I mean there turrets and motion sensors everywhere and where there isn't a motion sensor there's cameras pointing in every blindspot, Several patrols armed with enough weapons to fight several small wars throughout the stars and what looks like Combat Synths which while illegal they can get away with it since they're still an independent colony
This... was going to be hell on my weakened forces since I had only two hundred warriors and one hundred and ninety six drones to use in an attack and there was over thirty six million humans in that damn city alone that screams 'Don't fuck with us' and I don't think I'll be able to with my limited resources anytime soon
I finally figured out, why I found why the spaceport had a planetary transport than a aerospace one, they were using it to ferry supplies and colonists to Umbral Nites since Neo Twilight City had two ports one for in atmo and one for leaving the planet since I could see a healthy, despite the paranoia and nervousness tourist industry which meant that people were always arriving in small freighters and leaving vice versa
This... may actually be my make or break on this planet because of all of that planetary traffic regardless of that, Since I was lettling the Chestbursters cook in their host during their timers I pop them open to evolve them into drones plus, I evolve the older stock into Spitters since I had enough warriors for the moment which, allowed me to have diversity especially since, I now had Runner Drones I now decide to check the Tooltip
[Ovomorphs: 1,308]
[Facehuggers: 1,234]
[Tier 0: 30]
[Tier 1: 2,813/364/0]
[Tier 2: 200/196/0/0/0/0]
[Tier 3: 0/0/0/0]
[Tier 4: 0/0/0/0]
[Queen:1]
[Emperor: ½]
[Unknown: 0]
Huh... What was with the extra zeros plus another Tier? The closest I can guess is some kind of Spitter Praetorian and Runner Praetorian, but other than that I can't think of anything along those lines but the others nope, not off the top of... Oooh I think... I know now, but I'm not entirely sure about it so until I unlock that tier I can't be certain about it
However, I'm still worried about Neo Twilight City. It's a fortress and I'll have to take it at some point but since I can't figure out how to stealth my way through which means, I may need to up my approach but the question is how...
Doing another, cursory glance I noticed a few drills running here and there from the Colonial Militia when I noticed several UD-4 "Cheyenne" Dropship that the Colonial Marines use entering the Planetary Spaceport, I was given the honor of watching three Colonial Marine Platoons in twenty four squads with the standard M41A Pulse Rifles and M56 Smartguns that, exit the Dropships and realized with dread that they were probably going to the Umbral Nites
Oh... Well... Shhhiiiiiittttttt!
If I Know, how bloody fast these damn things transports were, I suspected they would arrive around one and one in a half days to reach Umbral Nites then it took my Aphids to reach Neo Twilight City which meant I wouldn't be able to...
Oh they plan to drive in their M577 Armored Personnel Carriers to the colony which would take around twice as long as my aphids which was, seven hours which gave me plenty of time to get ready for them and give them a big old welcome to the town, Facehugger style with a side of Drone - Warrior Hugs
So, for the first three hours I dug murder holes, death pits and acid pools especially for the M577 APCs which would be quite a shock for the Marines, especially when they think they got past one and boom! They, get hit with another right after plus, it might not even be the same trap which is just the greatest feeling ever
I also around this time, once more filled the entire city with Facehuggers after having my queen go on a mass laying spree which thankfully she was able to do without to much complications, but her health is starting to deteriorating rapidly if so I stop, I figure I'll need a new queen soon, or some something to fix that glaring weakness, so that doesn't happen anymore as her health soon slowly regenerates
For the next three hours I have the Facehuggers go hide out into and turn the city once more into a Facehugger Hell, which will make it difficult to stay in one place if people can't relax so I decide to check my unit tooltip after seeing my new unit count
[Ovomorphs: 112]
[Facehuggers: 4,854]
[Tier 0: 30]
[Tier 1: 2,813/364/0]
[Tier 2: 200/196/0/0/0/0]
[Tier 3: 0/0/0/0]
[Tier 4: 0/0/0/0]
[Queen:1]
[Emperor: ½]
[Unknown: 0]
As I was pleased with my unit count I noticed a new tooltip hovering over my drones, warriors and Queen Ruby so I clicked on it and discovered something marvelous, not to mention devilishly evil... It was a Upgrade Toolbar
{Drone Upgrade: Cystic Drones - Allows for a unique Acidic Spit: any host hit with this develops tumors that is helpful - Upgrade time: one hour}
{Warrior Upgrade: Onslaught Genome Warrior - Strengthens Warriors with armor and vitality: and new Warrior with this Genome can survive longer and having their limbs blasted off - Upgrade time: three hours}
{Queen Upgrade: Breeder Ovamorphs - Allows for Breeder Strain of Ovamorphs: Breeder Ovamorphs allows for quick and fast breeding with little to no consequences - Upgrade time: four hours}
{Queen Upgrade: Praetorian Ovamorphs - Allows for Praetorian Guard: Praetorian Guard can protect the Royal Strain of the Hive - Upgrade time: five hours}
As, I stared at these upgrades I grinned savagedly especially since I remembered two of these all except the Breeder Ovamorphs the rest of the upgrades are from an old AVP game that I love to play in my down time especially since the missions were very interesting for Aliens and Yautja Missions, Sadly I can't remember the Human missions, but the upgrades for the xenomorphs were fantastic especially since they showed a lot of unique Xenomorph Strains
Another, sad thing was that out of all of the upgrades I couldn't get any other upgrade but the Cystic Drones and from what I could see they would appear every third drone and none in the current stock which was a bummer, but hey it's the thought that counts besides...
I'm going to be increasing my drone count with these Colonial Marines soon, which means some free... well semi-free hosts just had to take them out very, very carefully so that I didn't get my drones killed bum rushing them like an idiot, like I did with the last survivors of Umbral Nites
Getting off track, I select the Cystic Drones upgrade, so that it counts down along with the timer to the Colonial marines arriving at the same time, which be my timer to their impending doom
It will be a glorious thing... For me that is, especially since they won't see this coming
