Chapter 11: A New Threat From the Shadows! An Unlikely Alliance!
The mutant lets out an evil snicker, and Piccolo is confused. He can sense Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, himself, Krillin, and even Tien within the creature. The battle goes mostly normal, with Pan included in Cell's explanation. Then, Krillin, Trunks, and Pan arrive, giving Cell the chance to use the Solar Flare and escape.
Vegeta does not show up when sensing Piccolo's energy spike, like he normally did, as he is at Kame House with the rest of the Z-Fighters. But Tien shows up. Piccolo explains to them about Cell's origin, and his goal. Needless to say, they are more concerned about the situation than they were before.
After the explanation, they all split up, with Piccolo and Tien heading back to Kame House, and Pan, Trunks and Krillin heading back to Dr. Gero's lab. Mainly to find anything helpful against the Androids and Cell. Once the trio arrive at the destroyed lab, they find blueprints for the Androids and they also find Cell from the present timeline, who is still being developed. After gathering the blueprints, they destroy the remains of the lab, and head to Capsule Corps.
Back at Kame House, Goku finally remembers something that he attempted when he was a kid, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. In the chamber, a whole year passes inside while only a single day passes on the outside. There are some harsh conditions in the chamber, though. The air is so hot AND so cold at the same time that it's hard to breathe in the chamber, plus the gravity is 10 times heavier than Earth's normal gravity. With the Hyperbolic Time Chamber fresh in his mind, he tells the rest of the Z-Fighters at Kame House.
And they all agree for the Time Chamber to be their next course of action. But then, the Androids arrive. Since Goku and Chi-Chi weren't home, they decided to head to Kame House, as they know that this place is where Goku would occasionally visit. So Piccolo steps outside to fight them on the deserted island like normal. With Piccolo buying some of the Z-Fighters time to escape to the Lookout, he knows what he has to do: Destroy at least one of the Androids so Cell won't get his Perfect form. The humans all stay at Kame House to sense the battle from afar.
The Saiyans arrive at the Lookout, and Vegeta and Trunks go in first, much like the anime's portrayal. Meanwhile, Bulma had finished creating a Self-Destruct remote to shut the Androids down, and delivered it to Krillin. Piccolo is still fighting Android 17, when from miles away, Cell senses Piccolo's energy, and he heads in their direction. Just like the anime had precisely portrayed, Piccolo doesn't notice Cell's energy approaching the battle.
With that, Piccolo looks towards the upper right and sees Cell. Piccolo explains to the Androids who Cell is, and they team up to fight the Bio-Android.
