Chapter 5
Hot shot is a foster child who was under the care of Heatwave and Quickshadow. They had a very special surprise for Hot shot. They bonded with him so closely they decided to adopt him. He was the child they always wanted and Hot shot was happy with them. They got the approval and now they were going to fill out the papers. "There the papers are filled out." Heatwave said.
"Yes and it is wonderful I hope Hot shot likes it," Quickshadow said. "Soon there will be the adoption hearing after this," she said.
Hot shot was playing with Servo at the moment. "Fetch!" Hot shot said throwing Servo's toy. Servo went after the toy and caught then he brought it back. "Good boy," he said. Then Hot shot threw the toy again and Servo went after it. "Yay," he said when Servo brought it back. "Servo I love you," he said and Servo licked Hot shot's face making him laugh.
Hot shot began to run around and play he was having a whole lot of fun too. Hot shot loved to play and have fun. Servo was with him and playing a long. "It is good thing Servo is watching the little nipper, I know my trusted pooch will keep a close eye on him," High Tide said.
"Dogs tend to be protective of children," Chief said. "Servo is keeping an eye on Hot shot because he sees Hot shot as weaker and in need of protection because he is a little boy," he said.
"There we go the papers are filled out and sent," Heatwave said. Then Heatwave and Quickshadow came up to Hot shot.
"Hot shot we have something to tell you," Quickshadow said.
"What is it?" Hot shot asked.
"Quickshadow and I, we have adopted you," Heatwave said.
"You did?" Hot shot asked starting hope.
"Yes we did and in a couple of weeks we will go to the court for the adoption hearing so it will be made official that you will be known as Hot shot Flamezer," Quickshadow said.
"This is best news ever!" Hot shot said jumping into Heatwave and Quickshadow's arms. Hot shot was so happy. Then a couple of weeks later was the adoption hearing.
"From this day forward Hot shot will be in custody of Heatwave and Quickshadow Flamezer and will be known as Hot shot Flamezer," the judge said then slammed down the gavel.
Hot shot was so happy he had parents now. A social worker came to check on Hot shot every once and a while for the first few months to make sure everything was going alright. They wanted to make sure Hot shot was happy and doing well. Hot shot was doing well. He was very happy and playing a lot. He was getting lots of rules and learning to follow them. He got in trouble at times, but he was glad he had friends who cared about him so much. Hot shot was going to do what he can to make his new parents proud.
"We love you Hot shot," Heatwave and Quickshadow said.
"I love you mommy and daddy," Hot shot said.
They were very happy and would soon have more adventures but for now they finally family.
