Rise of the Thunder God

After class the following day Minato and Kushina met up at the school's training ground to make plans about their training.

"So before we begin I want to know what you think your strengths and weaknesses are," minato said to kushina.

"Grandma mito has been helping me to learn fuinjutsu and my clan techniques, i have also completed the tree walking and leaf sticking exercises for my chakra control , i know the basics of taijutsu but i'm not really that good with academics and shuriken jutsu how about you"

"Well i am not quite as diverse as you i have done the chakra control exercises and am ranked top of the class in taijutsu and shurikenjutsu,i have been practicing calligraphy and reading about fuinjutsu and i have recently started the process of creating my first jutsu"

"That's awesome,ya know, what type of jutsu is it?" Kushina exclaimed.

"Well it's not as much of a jutsu as it is pure shape manipulation" minato said as he showed her an incomplete form of the rasengan that looked like the first one naruto used against Tsunade

"It's still incomplete because i lack the chakra control to keep it stable for long when it's done i want to be able to add different chakra natures to it"

"That's so cool, could you teach me?"

"Sure why not we could trade you help me with fuinjutsu and i help you with classes and teach you my jutsu"

"That sound great ya know"

"Ok let us start with a spar to see where you stand"

Both children got into their combat stances then as though an invisible bell had rung kushina shot at minato with a flurry of kicks and punches , minato only wanting to test her, weaving and blocking through her onslaught while analyzing her moves. She had good basics and physical stats but was too rash with her decision making with a few punches he had already seen many ways in which he could get through her guard, when he was satisfied with what he had seen he punched at her face and while her attention was on her guard he kicked her feet from under her and pinned her to the ground.

"Your technique is very good you would probably rank first among the girls and top 3 in class ranking if not 2nd but you are too brash you hyper focus on either attacking or defending and forget about the other that's why you lost"

Kushina turned her head to the side in a huff to avoid making eye contact , he was playing with her throughout their exchange but at least he had not made fun of her and agreed to train her so she would get stronger and wipe the smile off his stupid blond face.

They continued to train for a while after that with Kushina checking on his calligraphy and giving him pointers while he helped her master the academy kata.

By the time they were done for the day it was already night time and he offered to walk her home which she accepted , when she entered the compound she was met with the frowning face of Tsunade

"Where were you " the older girl said

"I was out training with a friend and we lost track of time"

This mollified the older girl but she decided to tease her family's young ward for making her worried.

"Oh only your second day in the academy and you have already found yourself a boyfriend" Tsunade said teasingly this caused kushina to blush angrily " minato is not my boyfriend he is only my friend and training partner","oh so it really was a boy you were hanging out with i will have to go and have a talk with him to make sure he does not break my little cousins heart"

This caused her face to turn red and her to run into the house leaving tsunade laughing outside.

A couple of months had passed and due to minato's help kushina was now ranked second in the class only behind him, both students had taking to their joint training really well with minato bringing kushina to Duy to help create a physical training plan for her and although she was weirded out by all the green at first she had come to appreciate his help with taijutsu as he was better than the academy chunins and even minato.

In these months they had learnt water walking and minato had completed the rasengan kushina however was still having a bit of trouble with the final stage. She could make a perfect rasengan with both arms but wanted to be able to create it with one arm like minato. She had also helped him with fuinjutsu practice with him now being able to create basic storage seals and learning how to make explosive tags.

As they were walking home after practice kushina saw tsunade and her team walking towards them she was about to pull minato out of their sight to avoid being teased by the older girl like had become the norm recently but luck was not on her side as she heard the white haired man ,jiraiya she remembered his name was curse him, speak "Hey Tsuna-Hime isn't that your cousin"

She saw tsunade turn her head at her then saw her eyes dart to minato and back to her as a shiver went down her spine at the predatory smile that painted the older girl's face. Tsunade called out to her causing minato to turn his head and spot the team coming towards them on the outside he was still smiling but on the inside he was fan boying hard these were the sannin before they become the sannin three of the strongest shinobi to ever come out of konoha walking towards him.

As they made their way towards the kids, Tsunade spoke to Kushina "So this is the boy that you have been running around with huh , what was his name again ? ahh minato was it i hope you are treating my baby cousin well , with all the bruises she comes home with lately" she said with a scary smile while jiraiya and orochimaru chuckled behind her.

He was confused at first but when he saw kushina blushing he realized was tsunade was trying to do and decided to play along a little "I am Minato Namikaze nice to meet you and i can assure you she gave as good as got" which caused the three ninja to let out some chuckles.

They proceeded to talk for a while, throwing a few teases at Kushina along the way causing her to be in a constant state of embarrassment . Before the sannin left, tsunade offered to let minato train in the senju compound so that they wouldn't have to cut their training short and she could give them pointers every once in a while to which her fellow blond gratefully accepted.

Once they left he could see that kushina was a bit miffed with him so he offered to take her to a ramen stand because apparently she was where naruto got his love for ramen from , they went to a random stall because ichiraku's was not in business yet. After making plans for the next day they went their separate ways.
