Once we both opened up to each other, our trust increased in large scales. My father stopped being afraid of Dune when he saw that he protected me. As for my aunt, well… She's still skeptical.
Today I asked my father for permission to go to the spring fair, as a date. When Dune went home, I saw him in a beautiful black suit, while I only put on a jean jacket, a mustard shirt, some Jeans pants, brown boots and I made a high half ponytail.
My father, as always, told him the same recommendation. Not be too late in dropping me off at home, which Dune knew beforehand.
We both went to the fair and saw lots of rides and food, there were lots of kids playing and groups of friends hanging out. Me and Dune were just close friends, I still don't feel very comfortable being in a relationship. I need to focus on my future. It's not that I want Dune outside of it, but I need to be someone in life first.
"What do you want to do, Aleyn?" Dune asked me interested.
"I guess I would like to eat corn on the cob with cheese," I replied.
Then we both went to the nearest stall and each of us ate a glass of cooked cob with lightly toasted cheese and lots of toppings. Personally, I ordered ketchup, mayonnaise and some hot sauce. I only asked Dune for Ketchup and mayonnaise because I didn't know if he could tolerate the spice.
Then we passed by some shooting stands to knock down cans, when suddenly something caught my attention.
"A Cinnamonroll stuffed animal!" I shouted excitedly, happily approaching the stall where the white Cinnamonroll was hanging, which had a waiter's suit on it. The smile I had faded when I saw that to have the stuffed animal I would have to throw away all the cans. "I want that Cinnamonroll, but I'm bad at shooting games," I answered a little embarrassed and tried to leave.
"Sir, I want to try my luck," Dune answered determinedly, paying a couple of bills.
It was obvious that scams of this type were carried out at fairs and that even if he wanted to, Dune would never have the stuffed animal, at least that's what I thought, because then he knocked down the 10 cans with only 3 balls, then I remembered something important... That Dune had powers, It was obvious that he would win, I looked like a fool to think that he wouldn't have the stuffed animal.
"Young man, take the prize you want," the man replied with a false but resigned smile.
"I want the Cinnamonroll stuffed animal," Dune answered determinedly and the man gave it to him.
Dune spent his money... on me? My friend snapped me out of my thoughts by calling my name.
"Aleyn, this is yours," Dune said, handing me the Cinnamonroll.
I accepted the stuffed animal and it was very fluffy that made me want to hug it. I certainly felt warm as I hugged the stuffed animal, but I also felt grateful for Dune. After going on those carousels with the small seats that lifted you up, we really liked the experience.
Without a doubt the date had to end sooner or later so once we took photos, we decided to return home. It was going to be late and my family would be worried about me.
Dune quickly dropped me off in the yard of my house, just a few minutes before 10 p.m.
"Dune, thank you for taking me to the fair. It was definitely a lot of fun," I thanked him.
"It was nothing, I also wanted to have fun and see what a fair was like and enjoy a day like all humans do," Dune replied.
"Look at this, Dune, I think you feel that way" and with that, I pointed to the sky.
It was an effect where clouds were surrounding the Moon.
"Look, the clouds try to cover the moon with their darkness, however, the moon breaks through to show some of its light and hope," I told him.
"Dune… you are my beautiful moon… my hope" with that said, I grabbed his cheeks, made him look down and quickly stole a kiss from his beak. That kiss didn't last a second, as I quickly pulled away.
"I better go inside before dad kills me, see you around, Dune," I hurried to the entrance of my house.
Before entering, I turned to look at Dune, who was blushing and surprised by the action I had previously done, so I let out a small giggle and waving goodbye, I entered the house. Unfortunately I'm not ready for a relationship, but I found that Dune's reaction super adorable.
