"Matt!" Sora gasped as she jumped off the couch when the door of their loft apartment opened and Matt walked in, closing the door behind him and locking it back up.
"Sora?" He walked over to her. "What are you doing still awake?"
"I couldn't sleep." She answered as he took her hand and led her back to the couch. "Did you see the news?" She asked as they sat down. "Digimon attacks! It's happening again!"
"And Tai doesn't want to do anything." Matt got back up and moved to the kitchen. Sora moved her left leg under her as she shifted so she could watch him opening the fridge and pulling out a beer.
"Not do anything!?" The red head gasped. "But our city! What are we suppose to do? Sit on the sidelines and."-
"Sora, do you see Biyomon anywhere?!" Matt asked, harsher than he meant. "Or Gabumon? I sure as hell don't."
"That never stopped you from going behind Tai's back in the past! And you're second command!"
Matt let out a burp before he drops his now empty bottle into the trash. "We can't do anything anymore. It's time for a new generation." He moves to the stairs and starts to climb.
Still sitting sideways on the couch, Sora looked down. "We're still the DigiDestined." She said gently. "Aren't we?" She asks. She stayed there for some time before jumping when Matt's arms wrap around her.
"I'm sorry. Today has just been a crappy day." He kissed her cheek.
"We all miss our Digimon, Matt." She whispered brokenly as her hands clung to his arms.
He pulls away to stand. "I know." He sighs. "Come on." He opened his hand for her. "Let's go to bed."
She slid her hand into his. "Ok." She let him lead her to the stairs.

The following morning. Izzy Izumi rushed down the sidewalk, heading towards a current building. He finally gets there and hurries through. "Excuse me! I'm sorry!" He apologizes as he bumps into people in the building as he tries to go through the crowd.

In his office, Tai yawns loudly as he stretches his arms and legs out. He turns to look over at Meiko, who's at her own desk and hidden behind her computer. Suddenly the door of the office banged open loudly, startled Tai falls out of his chair and lands hard on his back.
Izzy leaned heavily on the door, sweaty from his run to get to his destination.
"Izzy!?" Tai exclaimed with shock as he picks himself up. "What's going on?" He asks as he stood up and straightened himself out.
Izzy took a moment to finally catch his breath. "I've been doing some research." He starts.
"That's not news." Tai folds his arms. "You're always hiding behind the computers."
"Well." Izzy took a deep breath. "I think I found something."
Meiko adjusts her glasses. "What'd you find?" She asks curiously as he opens his laptop.
"It was just for a split second." Izzy explained. "But it was enough."
"Of what?" Tai asked as he watched Izzy move to Meiko's clean desk and set his laptop down.
"If I'm not mistaken, a portal appeared in the sky yesterday." Izzy said as he typed. Shocking Tai.
"WHAT!?" He cried as he ran over to his friend and looked at the laptop screen. "Like the one Kuwagamon went back and forth through like it was nothing, back in high school!?"
"I believe so." Izzy nods. "But it was so small. Like a blink of an eye."
"Did a Digimon come through?" Meiko asks, still in her chair but looking at him.
"I'm still trying to figure that out. My laptop's been acting up recently."
"I'm not that surprised on that." Tai remarks. "You had that thing since elementary!" He points at the laptop.
"And it still has the marks you made when you hit your fist on it." Izzy retorted. "Back when we were still new to the Digital World and stuck in that drain pipe."
A sweat mark appeared on Tai's head. "Don't change the subject!"
"I need a little more research." Izzy continued. "But it's definitely something we gotta keep an eye on."
"How do we keep the panic out of the city before we have more panic?" Meiko asks, and both boys look at her, making her blush and look away. "If Digimon are coming through. How are we suppose to let people know if it's a friendly one or not?" She asks.
Izzy looked to be in thought. "We'll have to try and figure this out before panic hits the fan, and we'll have an Armageddon on our hands." He said gravely.
Meiko shivered.
"Or Independence Day." Tai added, just as gravely making his wife shiver again.
Meiko saw both movies, but the movie Independence Day scared her the most, she can't watch it without throwing a blanket over herself.
Tai sighed as he sloughs back to his desk. "If Digimon start to come out of portals, a new generation will have to call." He plops down in his chair and folds his arms, the whole time sloughing.
Both Meiko and Izzy watch him, then Izzy turns to her. "What's the matter with him?" He asks quietly in hopes that Tai couldn't hear.
"None of us have our Digimon anymore." She answered in the same tone. "He was grumpy all day yesterday."
Realization clicked on Izzy's face. "Oh!" He gasped, then his shoulders slumped as he started to miss Tentomon. "Oh."

Calumon, a cute little white Digimon with an upside down triangle on its forehead, looked down at the traffic with confusion. "What kind of Digi World is this?" He frowns. He jumps off the lamp post and started to fly around. "I wonder if any of these Digimon will play with me." He wonders as he looks around hopefully.

At the school. Kari is at the chalkboard. "Now, pay attention as this will also be apart of your grade." As she writes down what was needed, she felt a presence and stopped short. "What was that?" She asked in a whisper. She moves to the big window and looks up and down with worry.
Suddenly Calumon happily flew past the window. Kari's eyes grew wide.
"Was that a?" She started to ask herself in a whisper. "Digimon?"
"Uh … Mrs. Takaishi?" Kazu Shioda started nervously as the class watched as their teacher turn white. "Are you ok?"
Unlike the other teachers, who get annoyed when a student doesn't raise his or her hand. Kari doesn't mind that they don't raise a hand, but her class does when the classroom door is open.
"I - um." Kari quickly shook her head. "I'm ok." She moves back to her desk.
Jeri raised her hand. "Should we get the nurse?" She asked in concern, and Kari shook her head.
"No." She smiled. "Thank you everybody. But I'm ok, really."

At his own home. Joe Kido was enjoying a day off, he walked past a window when something flew past making him stop and turn. "What was that!?" He gasped as he turns fully to the window and look out.
"Dad?" Henry looks up from his Digimon card game. "Are you ok?" He asks.
Joe continued to stare out the window, his eyes narrow as he tries to study what exactly he saw. When suddenly a Calumon hopes up on the backyard fence looking around before taking off. "A Digimon?" He whispered, then panicked. "It was!" He turns and races for the phone, tripping over the rug and he face planted before falling hard on the floor.
"Daddy!" Suzie, who was playing with a doll, cried as she sat on the floor near Henry.
Joe sprang to his feet. "I'm ok!" With that he turned and raced out of the room, leaving both his kids confused as they watched where he had ran off too.

At the Kamiya household. Tai sprang up off the couch, phone clutched in his left hand as he listened to Joe. "Are you sure!?"
Meiko, TK and Kari watched Tai's reactions as Kari still hasn't told her brother what she thought she saw.
"Well, whatever you do. Don't panic." Tai ordered into the phone. "Thanks, I'll an eye and ear out." He hung up and noticed his family watching him. "What?"
"Joe saw a Digimon, didn't he?" Kari asked.
Tai stared at his sister. "Yeah. How did you know?"
She looked down at her lap. "I saw one too."
"WHAT?!" Tai gasped.
"Was it friendly?" Meiko asked.
"I didn't get a good look. It flew past my classroom window."
"Tai." TK turns to him. "What do we do."
"I." Tai starts, then trails off. "I don't know … yet."
