April Showers Bring May Flowers-Ch 30
As the smiling newlyweds and their family made it back inside for the reception dinner Penelope said, "I still can't believe it, I still can't believe that we're married, that you my sexy sexy husband are indeed that, my husband".
Derek pulled her into his arms and said, "well believe it goddess because you are my wife and nothing or nobody is everrrrr gonna take you away from me", everybody "awwwww" as he leaned down and gently kissed her lips.
Fran said, "okay, so what do you want to do first, dance your first dance or eat?", Penelope and Derek looked at each other and then at Fran and said, "eattttttt", Penelope said, "I'm starving, shew, getting married just takes everything out of ya so the all seeing all knowing oracle needs to replenish her energy", Derek leaned in and whispered, "yes mam you do" causing her to blush.
Everybody made their way to the table where for the next hour to 90 minutes they sat laughing, talking and eating the delicious food that Sarah and Desi had worked hard on, the cake for the reception was also done by the girls and even Fran bragged on how beautiful the cake was when she saw it in the kitchen.
After their dinner was over, Derek took his bride by the hand and led her outside to the makeshift dance floor and pulled her into his arms and kissed her lips gently, it was only a matter of seconds before the music and words for, "You Are The Reason" by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis filled the air.
She laid her head down on his shoulder and closed her eyes and said, "I loveeee this song", he kissed the top of her head and said, "and I love you my beautiful, beautiful wife and I knew that this would be the perfect song for our first dance together as husband and wife", she nodded her head and said, "I agree 100000000% handsome".
After the first verse was over the floor slowly started filling up with couples, even Sarah and Desi were there dancing with Henry and Jack and of course JJ and Em snapped several pictures to have because they just looked adorable dancing with the Morgan sisters.
As the evening continued they continued laughing and talking and then it was soon time for the bride and groom to cut their cake, when Sarah and Desi wheeled it in Derek and Penelope said, "wowwwww, that looks amazing", Sarah said, "thanks, sorry it doesn't look as good as something that momma could have fixed butttt", Penelope hugged her sisters-in-law and said, "thank you, it's uber beautiful".
Derek said, "it's gorgeous, thank you, thank you both" as he too then hugged his sisters before rejoining his bride in front of the cake, they both put their hands on a knife and slid it through the layer of cake, Penelope then put the piece of cake into the saucer and smiled as she turned to face her husband.
The family watched as Derek and Penelope feed each other a bite of cake and then laughed as they smashed the rest of the cake on each others faces, the family laughed and picture after picture was taken as they watched the newlyweds kiss and lick the cake and icing off of each others faces.
Derek and Penelope danced several dances with each other plus the other members of the family, even Henry and Jack got to dance with their aunt Penelope before she danced one final dance with her husband before they said their goodbyes and started running for Derek's car.
The family ran after them tossing bird seed as the couple made their way toward the car, they stopped when she got into the car, she said, "thank you all again, thank you for everything that you did for us", they all smiled and said, "you're welcome" in unison" as they watched the car start up and pull away from the curve.
They stood watching and waving until the car disappeared at the bottom of the long Rossi driveway, they then went in and continued celebrating for a little while longer before helping Fran, Dave and the girls clean up before they all headed home.
It have been a long and busy few weeks and now that they were finally home and Derek and Penelope were husband and wife, now they could rest, after all they were all off for the next two weeks.
Since Derek was still recovering the newlyweds decided that they would spend their honeymoon at home, Penelope loved the idea, she didn't care where they went, the only thing that mattered to her was that she was with Derek, everything else was negotiable, most definitely negotiable.
