Chapter 21: Official god team purges the evil!

A stone platform erupted from the ground which Perseus stepped on. He then made it levitate as he came face to face with the set of solid oak doors. On opening them, he found a corridor that was for once empty. But what caught his attention was the drawings etched on the walls. The walls featured a number of winged people carrying harps and staffs. There were some winged people wearing armor as well, holding white colored long swords and short sticks, like wands.

"Didn't Apollo mention he saw some winged people high up in the sky?" Perseus thought, bewildered as he grazed his hand on the Aires constellation. "Who is this Mados exactly?" Perseus wondered as he continued to walk down the corridor. As he walked ahead, the temperature started to get colder and the air began to thin a bit as well. He then reached another set of doors that were paddle locked tightly. Not wanting to waste any more time, Perseus used his godly powers to completely blast the door away, revealing a fascinating sight.

The entire room was covered from the floor to roof with white marble. Adamantine pillars adorned the room as well. A large below of mist, the non-magic one, bellowed out of the room as Perseus walked in. Perseus frowned as he stepped into the room, wondering how something like this can exist underground. There was no way this could even exist. Hades should have definitely got wind about something like this existing in his city.

"Looks like my adversary has finally shown himself. I was starting to wonder that I may have tired you out." a voice spoke softly. Perseus looked ahead to find a raised platform with a person sitting on what he guessed was a throne. "Why a throne?" Perseus though as he walked up to the platform. At first glance, the person looked like a female which took Perseus by slight surprise. But on closer inspection, the person definitely was male. He had an androgynous face with skin as white as snow and long flowing blue hair that seemed to have a mind of its own as it floated everywhere. Glowing yellow eyes stared down at Perseus, as the person smiled slightly.

"Welcome young man. My name, is Mados. I'm not sure if you heard of me before so I had to get that out of the way." the blue haired person spoke up. "May I have the name of the person that for some reason has decided to interfere in my life?" Mados asked.

"Perseus." Perseus said simply, brandishing his blades. "And may I ask, where are those other children you have kept captive."

Mados raised an eyebrow. "I was under the impression you had already rescued them and have seen to their safety." he drawled.

"Don't try to avoid the question. Where is Celyn and the others." Perseus growled.

Mados rolled his eyes as he reclined on his throne. "They are safe... for now. In due time, they will have served their purpose."

"Their purpose?" Perseus questioned.

"Of course. But that's not important. I actually want to know more about you." Mados said, picking his fingernails. "Who are you, what do you do, why are you here, what's your purpose, where are you from, what's your-"

"Enough!" Perseus yelled, as the floor beneath him started to crack. "Last chance Mados, or I'll gut you like a fish!" Perseus snarled.

"... What's a fish?" Mados asked, looking genuinely confused.

"How do you not know what a- forget it. So how do you want to this." Perseus said, raising a blade at him. "I could do a fight now, or I can just kill you where you're sitting. I wouldn't even have to move an inch."

"You sound very sure of yourself." Mados noted as he sat up properly. "Are you a demigod? A son of Zeus? Poseidon? Maybe even Ares? I'm just throwing the common ones out so forgive me."

Perseus narrowed his eyes. "Since you're asking so politely, I'm not a demigod. I'm a god. A god that's slowly losing his patience."

Mados's eyes widened. "A god? Well will you look at that, something we have in common."

Perseus frowned. "You're a god as well?"

"Not exactly. I'm an immortal yes, but here in Gaia's realm, I wouldn't be called a god. But up there, way up there." Mados said, a dreamy look on his face as he stared up. "I was a god alright."

Perseus looked up, his eyes widening on what he saw. There was a mural painted on the ceiling, showing the same winged people he saw drawn outside the corridor walls. They all were looking at a buff man with the weirdest skin color Perseus had ever seen. It was dark blue in color and had small little silver dots scattered around the body. It reminded Perseus of the night sky in a way.

"Beautiful, isn't he?" Mados hummed. "I was his right-hand man you see. That is my lord, Ouranos."

"That's Ouranos ?!" Perseus asked, a bit shocked. There weren't a lot pf pictures of him, the most detailed being him looking like a regular old guy with a very puffy white beard.

"This is his true form. Or, the true form he takes when its night time." Mados said dismissively. "He has another form during the day."

"So, you worked under Ouranos." Perseus muttered. "Why are you even here on earth anyways?"

Mados sighed sadly as tears started forming in his eyes. "I... fell."

Perseus blinked. "You fell..."

"It wasn't even my fault at all!" Mados wailed as his eyes glowed. "Curse you Ouranos, what you did was no better!"

Perseus sighed. "I don't care what grudge you have against him; I have no interest in that shit. So now tell me, where are the other children."

"Children." Mados whispered, as a smile began to form on his face. "He threw his children away."

"Now what." Perseus muttered through gritted teeth.

"Ouranos threw his children, the elder cyclops and the hundred-handed ones the minute he gazed upon." Mados shouted, getting up. "And nothing happened to him. But when I ate mine, I get casted out of the stratosphere? How is that any fair!"

Perseus was ready to just skewer him then and there only when he stopped. "Wait... what?" he asked, wondering if he heard him correctly.

"You heard me. I ate my own children, not swallowed up like Kronos, but straight up ate them up. And I get exiled." Mados said, sitting down and scoffing. "Hypocrite." he muttered

Perseus immediately felt sick as he choked a bit on his saliva. "You... you... ate your own kid?" Perseus managed to say.

"Plural actually, there were two of them." Mados said shrugging. "But not just mine actually. I ate my sister's kids, the kids on the street, the ones in the-"

"Stop, stop, stop!" Perseus cried, covering his ears. "You sick... and you're wondering why you got exiled?!" Perseus shouted.

"Of course I am!" Mados cried. "My lord up there threw his kids in the most hellish and disgusting place in this solar system probably. I probably sent those children to the realm of the faded as we don't have the grace of reformation like you immortal earth dwellers. I didn't do anything wrong."

"... YOU ATE THEM!" Perseus shouted, wanting to end this lunatic quicky.

"Is that actually worse? I had my reasons okay, don't judge. They were a pain in the neck, literally. One broke my neck you see; how do you rectify that?" Mados said, a dreamy look on his face. "But I never knew immortal flesh was so delicious, but human flesh is not bad though."

Perseus's eyes immediately widened as he stumbled back, fear and dread pooling in him. "No... you didn't. You couldn't have..." he whispered.

"Eat those kids I have captured? Of course not, I was waiting to ship the others off to my buyers and then feast on the ones I kept for myself. But it seems like those plans have to change." Mados said getting up. "You know, I wonder how you might taste. I never tasted earthly deities before." he said, licking his lips.

Perseus formed a claymore as he gripped it tightly. "You... are going to get crushed... badly."

Mados's eyes widened as his jaw dropped. "Umbra ore... you're a child of Nyx? You must be, you said you were a god right? No way a regular immortal would be in possession of something so powerful."

"That doesn't matter." Perseus growled. "I'm going to kill you so hard you might not even go to Tartarus."

Mados shrugged. "I don't know about that; I might go to the realm of the faded anyway. But tell me how, does it feel being considered a lowly being from the Olympians? I'm sure you might be considered a minor god or something."

Perseus smirked. "On the contrary, I'm actually an Olympian god. A part of the council as well."

Mados blinked a couple of times and then immediately bursted out laughing. "Olympian go- BWAHAHAHA! Part of the- HAHAHA! Don't joke, the Olympians wouldn't appoint an outsider. The seats are only reserved for children of Kronos and Zeus HAHAHA!"

Perseus sighed. "Well, I don't blame you for thinking that." he mumbled. "But it's the Fates who choose, not the gods. And something tells me you haven't caught up on the new additions to the council."

"I've heard rumors that five more gods have joined the council but no confirmation." Mados said, still laughing. "So let me guess, the other four are children of Zeus as well huh."

"One of them is a son of Hera actually."

"Isn't that the same thing as a son of Zeus?" Mados asked.

"No, because Hera created the child herself. And don't ask me how!" Perseus yelled as he charged at Mados. Mados instead gracefully jumped up, easily missing the upcoming strike. He landed on the ground, smirking at Perseus.

"You're quite impulsive. You don't think I can kill those children with a snap of my fingers?" Mados asked, pointing down. Perseus looked below and noticed that the platform was coated with frost. He wiped it off, only to find himself staring at a bunch of frozen children, inside a glass box. Perseus's throat tightened as he noticed Celyn among the group, all of them coated with snow and ice.

"Food has to be fresh." Mados said, knowingly answering Perseus's question. "Ether frost, it definitely has its uses."

"Ether frost?" Perseus asked, remembering distinctly that Pontus had mentioned it once. "Isn't that a prime resource?"

"Yep, a resource exclusive to the sky." Mados replied, taking out a glass wand from his left sleeve. "Why don't we have a fight, son of night?"

Perseus grinned. "Now you're talking sense. I'm guessing you're going to be using that."

"Prime resource against prime resource!" Mados shouted gleefully. "I have heard many things about umbra ore. But I beg to differ that it's the most powerful." Mados said, waving his wand. A gust of wind came out of it, aimed straight at Perseus.

"Really, wind? What is that going to do, flutter my cloak?" Perseus asked as he ran ahead. But as he ran, he noticed something weird. "Why is my vision going all haywire- OWW" Perseus thought as searing pain erupted on his back. He then fell face first on the ground.

"How was the wind Perseus? You did look quite nice actually with your cloak fluttering, quite badass really." Mados said with a smile as he twirled his wand around. "That was until, I flattened you like a pancake."

Perseus gasped, and then groaned as he got up, eyeing Mados warily. He had to try and get the wand away, maybe distract him Perseus thought. "Guy sure likes to talk" he wondered.

"I would have thought Ouranos wouldn't allow someone to roam with a prime resource freely." Perseus asked, coughing a bit.

"Of course he wouldn't allow something like that." Mados said with a grin. "But I have my tricks. It also helps that Ouranos isn't the brightest out of the bunch."

"You're really sending mixed feelings when it comes to Ouranos." Perseus noted, watching as a few shadow tendrils slowly crept up on Mados. "I'm not sure if you despise him, or would like to lick his feet."

"His feet are disgusting!" Mados gagged. "And I'm glad I was not a lowly servant made to clean it."

"Why don't you answer my question." Perseus said, trying not to watch the tendrils sneaking up so he won't give them away. "Instead of fibbing out of it."

"I am not obligated to answer." Mados said with a huff. "Test me, and I will make a tornado for you to dance in."

"Or maybe I will do that." Perseus said, flicking his wrist. The shadow tendrils lunged at Mados and the wand, but were stopped by-

"What the... hair?" Perseus said, as he watched Mados's hair splitting and holding down the shadow tendrils in its place. Mados glanced behind him and smirked.

"You could say my hair has a mind of its own, but that's false. Is this what the Olympian son of Night can do?" Mados yelled, a long ice blade forming from the wand. "Pathetic, not worthy for the commander of the sky!"

"You want worthy? Then have it." Perseus muttered, his aura flaring at full force. The previous shadow tendrils dissolved, only to be replaced with massive ones instead. Perseus smirked as he saw Mados's grin falling.

"Night verses Sky. Not the matchup one would expect, but still alright." Perseus said, lunging forward, and purple eyes blazing fiercely.

Artemis had just finished up at the last house as she saw Apollo and Hermes descend down. Both were wearing massive grins on their faces as they high fived each other.

"Man that was awesome! I went thwack, and twang! And people died!" Apollo said with a laugh. "And I saw you as well Hermes, you're pretty good with a sword."

"Thanks, Perseus and Ares's crash courses did help thankfully" Hermes said. "So, when are we waking up the city?"

"Once Perseus appears I suppose. Apollo, I might need you for this. Hermes, can you check on Hecate and see how she's doing?" Artemis asked, receiving a nod in return. She then glanced at Apollo and motioned him to follow her.

"What's up? Is there anything else I'm supposed to do cause I'm a bit lost." Apollo asked as he and Artemis started walking.

"Nothing serious, Percy just wants me to check on the kids. And I'm dragging you along in case there are any serious injuries."

"Ah, gotcha sis." Apollo said, running ahead in order to miss Artemis's punch. The two soon reached the safe house, opening it slowly to find about twenty or so children, huddled up together. All of them glanced at the two gods a bit fearfully, most of them hiding the younger ones behind them.

"Um, hello everyone. My name is Artemis, and this is my brother Apollo. Perseus sent us here, I'm sure you already know that." Artemis said, smiling softly. Her children and maiden domains began to act up as a slight motherly look adorned her face. "We're here to help you, there's no need to be afraid now at all." Artemis said softly. Her words seemed to calm the kids down as they slowly approached her.

"I'm here as well guys." Apollo said with a grin. "If you will allow me, I would like to check you guys out for any injuries or sickness you guys might be facing."

"Artemis shook her head fondly at her brother's antics as she began to interact with the children. Many of them were slowly talking to her, mostly the younger children and girls. Apollo had the older kids covered as he showed off a miniature light show.

"Most of them have minor cuts and bruises." Artemis said to Apollo. "What are you getting?"

"Definitely more than that." Apollo muttered as he placed a glowing hand on a boy's stomach. "Most of them are suffering from malnutrition and some have developed a fever as well. I'm fixing that of course, not a big deal for me." Apollo said as he moved towards a girl who immediately scrambled back. "Um..."

"I'm sorry Apollo, but Penelope doesn't do that well with men." Phoebe said apologetically. "Had a very rough childhood."

"Ah okay, that's understandable." Apollo said with a sad smile. "Artemis, can you hold Penelope over here? I could do that power transfer thing with you."

"Yeah sure." Artemis said, smiling down at Penelope. "Hello little one, will it be fine if I hold you?" she asked. Penelope shyly nodded as Artemis held her in her arms, giving a nod to Apollo. Apollo then touched Artemis's shoulder as he glowed gold, the golden glow was then transferred to Artemis, and then to Penelope who gasped in surprise and then sighed with content.

"There we go good as new." Apollo said, giving a thumbs up. "Hey Phoebe, do you want those wounds to be treated?" Apollo asked, as he stared at the numerous cuts on Phoebe's arms.

"Huh? Oh no, I'm fine really. You should focus on the others, I'll be fine." Phoebe replied.

"Nonsense, we'll be making sure that everyone is alright so that includes you of course. And Artemis will see to it, just to make you feel more comfortable." Apollo said with a grin as he moved aside. Artemis just shrugged as she began to heal Phoebe's wounds.

"So... you're lady Artemis, right?" Phoebe asked slowly after a moment of silence. "This feels surreal, meeting a god that is."

"And you're lucky enough to meet four." Artemis said with a smile. "And it's about time I meet Perseus's new mortal friends though the situation could have been much better."

"Yeah, that is true." Phoebe said with a small smile. "Is it true that you're a really good archer? And that you and Perseus took down a hellhound together? He showed me the claw, it looks really cool."

"Well, I don't want to brag but I am the archery goddess. And Perseus more or less obliterated that hellhound by himself really." Artemis replied. "There you go, you're all healed up."

"Thank you, lady Artemis." Phoebe said, her gaze somewhere else.

"You still seem a bit worried, is something the matter?" Artemis asked.

"it's nothing lady Artemis, it's just... I don't know what's going to happen to me and the rest of us children from the orphanage. I'm sure the younger ones might hopefully get adopted but some of us may have to fend for ourselves. Not sure how we'll manage that."

Artemis nodded slowly, a bunch of thoughts floating I her head right now. "I don't want to get your hopes up, but there might be a way to help you guys. In a way really, it's probably not applicable but who knows." Artemis said, giving out more sentences that greatly confused Phoebe. "But like I said, it's not really set in stone so...yeah." Artemis said sheepishly, glancing at the window. It's almost past nine, where is that Perseus."

Phoebe's eyes widened. "He... no he'll be fine, it's Perseus, nothing can happen to him." Pheobe said nervously. "I just can't... my mind refuses to comprehend on what just happened. I still feel that Mados will just pop up out of nowhere and do whatever crazy thing he was going to do."

"You don't have to worry about him. I'm sure Perseus is probably cleaning his weapons right now as he's walking over here. A mortal like Mados is technically a piece of cake for us." Artemis said. "But he is taking an awful lot of time, I wonder if he's alright."

Perseus was not alright. And this fight was definitely not a piece of cake for him. So far, he got pushed, shoved and covered in snow as he tried to even land a hit on Mados but the guy was unpredictable as a piece of floating paper. Mados dodged, sidestepped and laughed hysterically as skipped around the room, his yellow eyes filled with mirth.

"Is ickle little Perseus already tired? You are quite experienced, no doubt. But I doubt you have been alive for that long to fully pick everything up." Mados said with a grin as he waved his wand around. A tornado appeared at the tip which was then launched at Perseus. Perseus barely managed to dodge it as he slipped into a shadow, reappearing just behind Mados. He was prepared to cut his head clean off but was stopped by the hair.

"Stupid little pieces of- WHOA!" Perseus shouted as he was launched forward. He formed a spear which he used to break his fall, glaring at the now dancing Mados.

"This is easy! I expected much more from a so-called Olympian god. Noticed how I used so-called? Because that's what you are!" Mados cried gleefully. "Oh-ho, I hope my lord is watching down at me right now. *sniff* He must be so proud." Mados said, wiping a tear.

"He can give Zeus a run for his money with all these theatrics." Perseus muttered, getting up. It definitely seemed that earth powers would be required for this.

"Hey Mados! Can a son of Nyx control the earth!" Perseus shouted, as he felt the familiar tug in his stomach.

"Earth powers? What are you huh minor god, the god of tall tales? Quit acting like a baby and come and- GAH!" Mados cried as he got launched into the air by a stone pillar. Perseus grinned as he launched himself at the air as well. Changing his weapon into a large club, dotted with spikes of course, Perseus smacked Mados straight into the ceiling, where he got stuck. Perseus then snapped his fingers, smiling as he watched another stone pillar launch out of the ceiling where Mados was, making him fall hard back on the ground quite badly. Perseus then used a shadow wisp to secure himself mid-air as he slowly descended down.

A loud guttural scream tore across the room as Mados spasmed on the floor. He then got up, showing of a very squished face covered in ichor. In fact, that was the case everywhere on his body.

"You... you... AI GAMISOU!" Mados yelled, spitting out ichor. The temperature began to drop even more as the air began to thin as well, making it a bit difficult for Perseus to breathe. Mados then let out another roar as his teeth elongated into fangs, his hair becoming much longer as well. He then let out another scream as a black wing erupted out of his back, which Perseus noted was shedding some feathers. A set of lightweight armor, similar to Perseus's appeared on Mados. The wand formed another long sword which Mados gripped tightly, a steely look settling in his eyes.

"I think... I underestimated you." Mados said softly, his voice tripled as if three Mados's were talking together. "What you just displayed... is something out of the realm of my thinking prowess. But killing you... very much possible, very much possible. I will dedicate this fight to my lord abov-"

"Oh stop fucking talking you bitch!" Perseus yelled, attached blades ready on each hand as he lunged forward. Mados launched his hair at him which Perseus which he expected as he used his shadow wisps to take care of that. Both of their weapons came into contact as they battled it out on the ground. Perseus kept on pushing Mados back which was not appreciated well by him. He tried launching more gusts of wind at Perseus which he was able to dodge easily by slipping through the shadows. Perseus contemplated on if he should use his hellfire but decided to keep that away for now. He didn't want Mados to suddenly bring out some kind of hellfire extinguishing water out of that cursed wand.

Mados growled in frustration as he flew up. Even with one wing, he was still able to move freely in the air which was impressive. "If wind can't get you, then maybe freezing you over will." Mados gleefully shouted as he performed a complicated looking movement with his wand. He then flicked his wand and suddenly, a series of large spikes made from ice were formed, all pointing at Perseus. Perseus threw himself forward with a levitating platform, easily dodging the spikes as he finally landed a strike on Mados, the armor tearing open like paper as Mados howled in pain.

"Die minor god!" Mados screeched, this time forming a large blizzard. Perseus let this consume him as he tried to breathe properly. The air was definitely starting to thin, and it didn't help that the current temperature was below freezing. Perseus let out a groan as he once again landed hard n the ground. He decided to mimic his foe, forming stone spikes as well from the ground, and unknown to Mados, from the ceiling as well.

"Next time you come back from Tartarus, I'll make sure to find an area for us to fight where no shadows and any form of earth will be found!" Mados said. "For Ouranos!"

"I'm starting to pity Ouranos now, if he ever had to deal with scrubs like you." Perseus muttered.

"He is the supreme lord of the sky! He loves us all!" Mados shouted. Seems like he heard Perseus.

"Don't let Zeus hear you say that." Perseus replied, launching his ground spikes. Mados easily dodged them due to Perseus's less concertation on them. "Is that the best you can do?!" Mados gloated, but immediately stilled as he fell something graze his skin and wing. "How..."

Perseus merely shrugged "My elements are everywhere. There is no way you will find a place in this realm without them." he replied with a grin.

Mados yelped as he felt the spikes slowly dig into his skin and wing. He quickly removed his armor, leaving him in just a loincloth as he managed to get a spike out of his wing as well.

"That was smart, but still futile. It was nice knowing you Perseus." Mados said, forming another complicated pattern with the wand. This time, large chunks of ice started to appeared out of thin air, immediately falling as well. Not wanting to take any chances, Perseus tried to dodge the ice chunks, as they left a large spiked ice structure as they hit the ground. Though there were too many to a void as an ice chunk got Perseus, leaving half his body below the head immobilized in ice.

"I got you, I got you." Mados chanted as he formed his long sword again. "Now, time to kill you." Mados shouted as he swooped down, a maniacal glint in his eyes. Perseus's eyes widened as he desperately tried to break free from the ice, but it wouldn't even crack. Seeing that there was no other option, Perseus desperately tried to call for his hellfire when his mind went numb as he felt something cold on his chest.

Perseus slowly looked down to find an ice blade protruding out of his chest. He gasped as unimaginable pain covered his entire body as he tried to move. Perseus immediately stilled as he felt something cold creep through his body, making him feel stiff.

"The insides of your body are slowly freezing over by the ether frost." Mados said softly as he gently pulled the blade out. A bit of ichor began to leak out of the wound but stopped as it froze. "As your insides completely get frozen, then so will the outside of your body," Mados said, kneeling in front of Perseus. "What is happening to you happens to all beings who get pierced by the frost. They die. You're conscious will soon leave your body. Maybe you'll reform in Tartarus, maybe you'll go to the realm of the faded, but believe me when I say this that I didn't want this to happen, this was a last resort." Mados said, grazing Perseus's face which was starting to get covered in frost. "Your body will remain intact though, it won't disintegrate. Your beautiful body, for me to consume." Mados said with a grin, liking his lips.

"You fought well for a minor god, I give you that. And as a spoil of war, I'll be taking this." Mados said, taking out Perseus's vambrace. Perseus tried to do something but he was immobilized, his vision blurring as well.

"..."

"Umbra ore, it is beautiful I give you that." Mados said, slipping the brace in his hand. "How do you form weapons out of this? Oh wait I forgot; you won't be able to talk now. I'll figure it out though, don't worry."

"Nghh"

"...L.k.ós." a voice said, echoing inside Perseus's head.

"It's such a shame though, you decimated through my forces, but you still lost. Celyn, the other children, they will die now"

"Lykofós."

"I need to check on those remaining anyways. Goodbye Perseus." Mados said, walking away.

"Use your power."

"Let go now."

"Let go!"

Perseus then let out a shuddering gasp, which caught Mados by surprise. The dark blue aura surrounded Perseus once more, but this time, it was tinged with purple and white. Perseus's eyes glazed over as darkness shrouded his vision and a figure, glowing an eerie purple color was seen. The figure then

raised its arms, as purple glowing tendrils emerged and went straight for Perseus.

"Let go of it Lykofós"

"CONSUME HIM!"

Perseus screamed loudly as the entire room began to shake. Cracks, stone spikes and floating rocks began to appear everywhere. Large shadow tendrils sprouted from Perseus's body as he let out another scream. Mados tried to exit the room but the entire entrance got caved in due to the ongoing earthquake. He could only watch fearfully as Perseus's body glowed purple, a white colored fire consuming him which took Mados by immediate surprise. He didn't have time to contemplate however as the entire room got shrouded by darkness and fire.

Up above, Artemis was regaling the children with a story featuring her and Perseus when she heard Hecate speak to her telepathically. "One minute children, someone is trying to call me. Apollo, lightshow now." Artemis said, stepping aside.

"Hecate, what's the matter? Everything alright in your end?"

"Yeah I'm fine Artemis. It's just that... what are you guys doing that's making the eclipse act up?"

"I'm sorry what?" Artemis whispered shouted in her head, stepping outside. She was greeted by the sight of a very red moon, so red that the sky surrounding it was also red. In fact, it seemed like the entire sky was turning red as large overhead clouds began to move faster. If mortals weren't already freaked out by the blood moon, then they definitely were right now with the blood red sky. Even the gods at Olympus were in a bit of frenzy as Zeus sent lightning bolt after lightning bolt, trying to unsuccessfully wake the gods up for a non-existent war or doomsday.

"Hecate this is definitely not my doing." Artemis whispered, as she motioned quickly for Apollo to come over. "Let me just confirm with my brother and see what he has to say"

"What's up sis, I was just in the middle of...di immortals..." Apollo whispered as he stared at the red sky.

"You definitely look surprised; I'm guessing it's not your doing then." Artemis said nervously as she again contacted Hecate. "Hecate, its neither me or my brother that's doing this."

"Oh... maybe it's Perseus? He might be unintentionally doing it." Hecate replied.

"t better be, I don't want to deal with something else right now." Artemis muttered. As soon as she said that, a tremor struck the city, making her and Apollo stumble and effectively scaring the kids.

"What in Tartarus was that!" Apollo cried, trying to steady himself to no avail. "Is this Perseus's doing?!"

"It better be him; I can at least beat up something I know already!" Artemis replied.

"Artemis, look! The orphanage." Phoebe shouted, pointing at a building on top of a small hill. Everyone watched as the building slowly crumbled into rubble, the tremor also stopping as well. Suddenly, another shockwave of dust enveloped the city as a burst of white flames erupted out of the rubble from the orphanage. A figure which Artemis and Apollo noted to have long hair flew out of the fire and crashed into the ground. A few moments later, another figure emerged, which Artemis and Apollo immediately recognized, but also took some time to register with how different the person looked.

Perseus stared down at the prone figure of Mados, his eye sockets filled with a bright purple fire that was burning with hatred. A purple aura surrounded him this time, instead of his dark blue one. Perseus faintly noticed that he was still on the air and glanced behind to see silver-white flames taking the shape of wings behind his back. Perseus merely hummed in acknowledgement as he continued to glare at Mados who was slowly getting up. He continued to stumble around as he got up, looking around fearfully. He then glanced up, and immediately fell again as he stared a Perseus.

"Y-Y-You... impossible... you can't have that... impossible." Mados stuttered.

"Pathetic." Perseus whispered, whipping out his attached blades, seemingly managed to recover his other vambrace. Mados yelped as he started to fly away... and immediately bumped into Perseus who flew over five times as quickly as possible.

"No...no, no, no, no, no..." Mados continued to chant like a mantra and gasped as Perseus clutched his throat. Perseus then turned around and threw Mados downwards with a speed and ferocity that didn't allow Mados to try and stop the fall. He promptly crashed into the ground once again. Perseus once again flew down, picked up Mados and set him on his feet.

"Are you going to continue?" Perseus asked, tilting his head to the side. Mados then took out his wand and clumsily waved it around, which only produced a small gust of wind that fluttered Perseus's cloak. Perseus smirked at this.

"Thanks." he replied, picking Mados up once again and throwing him into the sky. He once again flew up and this time, head butted Mados into a nearby building, which happened to be Hades's temple.

"Ahhh, sorry uncle." Perseus muttered, flying to the temple. While all this was going on, Apollo and Artemis were staring dumbly at everything that just happened.

"That was definitely Perseus and not some kind of twin, right?" Artemis asked.

"He has hellfire wings; he has hellfire wings." Apollo muttered, and then grinned. "Man, my bro is badass! I wonder if the wings are attached to him?"

"That was Perseus?!" Phoebe whispered, "Holy shit."

Suddenly, an orange smoke began to cover the roads of the city, most of it seeping into the houses. "Oh no, don't tell me Hecate already launched the draught." Artemis muttered as she tried to telepathically communicate with her. "Hecate, why did you bring out the draught? You were supposed to do it when the threat was eliminated!"

"Yeah, so I did it!" Hecate answered back. "Perseus emerged out of that rubble so the draught is out. ...That was Perseus, right? The one with those wings?"

Artemis sighed. "Yes, but he's still taking care of Mados I presume. Though I wonder if he's just tossing around a dead body for fun." Artemis muttered.

Back in the temple of Hades, Perseus was slowly walking towards Mados, who was unsuccessfully trying to do something, anything really, to Perseus. Bellows of wind? It fixed Perseus's hairstyle. Anything ice related? Was melted as soon as it came in contact with the hellfire wings which were used as a shield. Basically speaking, Mados was screwed.

"How do you even have that!" Mados yelled, pointing a shaky finger at the wings. "That's hellfire! Tartarus's resource, no way he would give this to a child of Nyx and no way someone other than him can wield it so properly!"

"I'm not obligated to answer your questions, so hush." Perseus said with a smirk. "So... how do you want to die?"

"You don't scare me,,,you...you minor god!" Mados shouted, but even he seemed unsure of himself. Perseus merely tilted his head to the side as he launched his shadow wisps. Mados quickly held them with his hair but Perseus was expecting that as he pulled Mados forward. He then set Mados's hair on hellfire and gave him a right hook that sent him sprawling ahead.

"No, not my hair!" Mados cried as he tried to extinguish the flames to no avail. He cried out as he drew his wand, forming a long sword which he then used to cut off his hair.

"That was a smart move." Perseus said, unnecessarily flexing his nonattached wings. "You still have to choose the method of your death."

"Don't you dare threaten me..." Mados weakly cried. "I will destroy you, along with the temple of this already damned god if I have to. I'm the commander of the sky, I will not be mocked!"

Perseus frowned. "You just did the third biggest mistake when it comes to me. Never insult my favorite uncle ever again!" Perseus shouted, grabbing hold of Mados with a shadow tendril and crashing him through the walls. He then launched him back on the ground, where a newly formed rock spike was waiting and impaled Mados with it. Perseus then approached the struggling immortal, and ripped his wing out, burning it in the process.

"Damn you! I did nothing to you...why!" Mados choked out as Perseus drew his blade forward as he stared down at Mados. "You threatened not only my two new friends lives, but numerous others as well. You even drugged an entire city for crying out loud. So... any last words?"

Mados glared at Perseus with a mixture of hatred and fear. "Who... are you really..." he choked out.

Perseus smiled. "Now that I can answer. I'm not a minor god first of all, I'm Perseus. ...Lykofós Perseus. God of eclipse, shadows, combat, hunt and last but not the least, hellfire. I'm the protector of those innocent and threatened by during the twilight zone. And lastly, I'm the Twilight Avenger." Perseus said, sinking his blade through Mados's body. Mados then let out a soft whine as he slumped, his body soon dissolving into vapor that floated above. All that was left of him was his loincloth and wand, which Perseus gently picked up and pocketed. Perseus then sighed as he fell to his knees, the adrenaline leaving his body making him feel dead tired. The purple aura soon disappeared along with the purple fire in his eye sockets, his normal looking black and blue ring eyes soon appearing back. Perseus glanced behind to see if his weird fire wings were still there, but they were gone as well.

"Seems like Artemis's wish came true... in a way?" Perseus thought as he tried to remember how his transformation happened, only to get a massive headache. "Best not to think about it." Perseus muttered, as he tried to reverse the damage in the temple the best he could. All that was left was some dents and cracks which Perseus was sure a thousand of drachmas delivered anonymously will fix. He then absorbed the hellfire, and a split decision later, collected the ash that remained from the wing and hair. He then slipped into a shadow and appeared at the town square, where there were already a bunch of people milling about, wondering why there was a bunch of unconscious men next to their house, most of them missing their private parts. Perseus cursed, not realizing that Hecate had already set the draught as a bunch of people were already pointing at him, whispering among themselves.

"Welp, can't hide now." Perseus muttered as floated above with the help of a flat rock. "People of Kichyros! I am deeply sorry for disturbing you today but I have an announcement to make. These unconscious, and maybe dead men all worked under Mados, a tyrant that has troubled your city greatly. I took the liberty of taking care of him after I got wind of some despicable activities that he was going to conduct with the children he kept in his orphanage, and your very own he was planning to steal when he successfully drugged all of you'll up." Many gasped on hearing this. "So... yeah." Perseus said, really hoping he didn't sound like an egotistical god right now.

"Some of them are the kings' men!" a guy shouted. "How do you know you got the right people?"

"Um..." Perseus wondered when he heard his commrock chime. "Tell them they all have similar tattoos on their left peck, and the outsiders of the city have a bracelet with the same symbol. It's a 'M' by the way." Hermes said.

"All of Mados's men have a 'M' symbol on their left pec. If some of them don't, then check their hands for a bracelet with the same symbol." Perseus said, sighing in relief when he saw the citizens agreeing with him.

"Are you a god or something?" A woman asked.

"He is a god!" An old man shouted; who Perseus noted was a priest. "He is Lykofós Perseus, a new god and addition to the holy council of Mt Olympus! We were supposed to introduce him and others as well in a few days, as decreed by the oracles in Greece."

The people once again began to whisper among themselves, as many approached Perseus with many questions.

"Are you a son of Zeus? Or a secret son of Kronos?"

"What are your domains?"

"Are you planning to be our patron as well since you did so much for our city?"

"Are you married?"

"I can't answer everything sorry." Perseus said bashfully. "I'm sure the priests will reveal mostly all the information about me so don't worry about that."

"Can we build a temple to honor you? You have actually done a lot for us by not just protecting our children, but by taking care of that tyrant as well."

"Uh..." Perseus definitely didn't want a temple on a city that was already claimed by Hades. Not to mention, he wanted to credit Artemis, Apollo, Hermes and Hecate as well but then the gods will soon find out that they interfered with the ancient laws. He would rather settle for a nice statue in the local temple of the gods, but he knew the locals will not budge.

"A temple? Wow that's big, really. I guess you can make a small, nice quaint temple where the orphanage was, to commemorate the moment. Just don't make it to grand or anything like that, you wouldn't want Hades to be angry," Perseus joked, but on seeing some scared look on the locals faces, he figured he should have kept it to himself.

"Okay then, I will be taking my leave, it was nice meeting everyone. Tell the king I said hello and goodbye!" Perseus shouted, giving one final wave as he disappeared into the shadows. He then reappeared back in Mados's 'throne room', or what was left of it. The glass platform/cage holding the frozen children was still intact though.

"Ether frost can make some really unbreakable stuff huh?" Perseus muttered, as he lit his hand with hellfire. "But it's nothing against this." Perseus said, melting through the ice. He was soon able to make a sizable hole which he jumped into, making sure not to fall on one of the kids.

"How am I supposed to get you'll out of this." Perseus muttered. "There's no way I'm risking it with hellfire." Perseus thought when he got an idea. He took out Mados's wand, the surface quite warm for something that produces the opposite. Or who knows, it can give out scorching hot air as well.

Perseus then waved the wand around, feeling quite foolish. He tried to imagine the frost covering the children disappearing, and he thought it might work as he felt the wand pulse.

"Come on, please work. Only for this time. I know I'm not from the sky or whatever but please." Perseus begged, wondering if he could even control it. His eyes widened as a blue light emerged from the wand, it's light slowly melting off the frost from a close by child's body. Perseus grinned as he began to wave the wand around again, the frost soon melting off everyone present. The children soon began to wake up from their coma as they stared in wonder at Perseus."

"Oh thank the Fates it worked!" Perseus said with a laugh as he waved at the bewildered children. "Hey everyone, oh and hey Celyn."

"Wha-What?" Celyn managed to say as she rushed forward to grasp Perseus's arms. "How did you find- forget that how did you free us?! What about all those soldiers and Mados- what about Mados?!" she cried.

"He's gone, they are all gone Celyn." Perseus said softly. "He's not going to be a problem to any of you guys at all." Perseus told the other children."

"He said he was going to sell the others for slavery... and worse." Celyn whispered. "And he said we had some purpose, and then he took out this glass stick and I don't remember what happened next and then you show up and-"

"Hey Cely, Celyn relax." Perseus said gently. "Like I said, he's not going to be any trouble to any of you'll. Ever. No way I'm going to let something like this happen, especially to you and Phoebe."

"Phoebe..." Celyn muttered, her eyes widening. "Oh my gods, Phoebe! Is she alright, is-"

"She is alright, everyone is fine. The nightmare has ended." Perseus replied.

"My brother is safe?" a girl whispered, tears in her eyes. "Can we please see them sir?"

Perseus smiled. "The name is Perseus everyone, no need to call me sir. As for meeting your friends and siblings, well. Hold on tight cause we're going up."

It was a tearful reunion to say the least. All the children were gathered in the town square as they greeted their lost siblings and friends, the locals cheering on as well. Perseus was once again bombarded with many questions, and after tearful goodbye and a promise to see Phoebe and Celyn soon, Perseus once again disappeared through the shadows and appeared back at the meeting point in the forest outskirts of Kichyros. As soon as he stepped out into the open, he was immediately tackled with a hug by Artemis, who refused to let go. And then promptly beat Perseus up.

"You moronic, ash for brains, piece of shit! You scared the living daylights out of me!" Artemis shouted as she continued to punch, then hug, and then punch Perseus over and over again. "Don't you ever do that again!"

"Apollo, what did you do to make her so cranky?" Perseus whined as he glared at the shocked sun god.

"I didn't do anything, really! This is all on you Percy so don't try to play the blame game. It isn't going to work." Apollo huffed.

"Dude, you looked, and were awesome out there!" Hermes cried. "Were those actual hellfire wins, like... wow! Wow..." Hermes muttered, a stupid looking grin on his face, "Wow"

"Ohhh, I want to fangirl over it so bad!" Hecate squealed. "But that's a topic for later, because we have a lot of questions right now that will probably take the entire the day to finish. And all of us were awesome really, we make a really solid team."

"And after that, we celebrate!" Apollo yelled. "This definitely calls for a party. I'm thinking... Delphi! It has an oracle festival happening in four days, perfect timing for an outing."

"I'm not opposed to it." Artemis said with a grin. "Just don't expect me to drink. Not going to do that ever after that stupid domain party for us."

"It's decided then! And Percy, what's this I'm hearing about temples being built for you, huh, huh? It isn't even in your own city." Apollo asked, nudging Perseus playfully."

"I just want to know if your wings are attached, are they attached?" Hermes asked, getting a whack on his head as Hecate shouted something about patience. Apollo was already imitating what he was doing on Artemis's chariot, arguing he did the most awesome things, second only to Perseus. Perseus shook his head fondly as he rested on a tree trunk, Artemis already snuggling up beside him and arguing with Apollo on who was second best, her fingers laced with Perseus's. Perseus then let out a sigh of content. His first mission was a success, and his team of gods, they were all awesome. Hopefully official team that is.

And that's a wrap on the Mados arc! Which kinda came out of the blue, but I had to try and get a basis for the hunters ready *wink, wink*. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, what did you'll think of Mados? Who knows if he actually faded or went to Tartarus *wink, wink*.

Oh, and there's something I noticed that sucks about fanfiction. It seems like crossed sentences don't appear on the final posted product, which really sucks. If you don't know what I'm talking about, in chapter nineteen I think, when Nyx sends that letter to Perseus, "Your mother" is actually crossed out, which I put the feature when typing. But fanfiction didn't get that in, you can even see the dashes at both ends as well. So yeah, the "your mother" is meant to be crossed out. Poor Nyx, she probably thinks Perseus doesn't really see her as a mother :(.

Other than that, I have nothing else to say, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, we'll be taking a break from action for the time being so yeah. See you guys at the next update (or tomorrow, when I update shenanigans X D). Bye!...\/
