The RKO Incident: Part 4 - The Angels Descend

The plan was set, and the Angels descended on the Union Station Hotel. They each had their gear and an earpiece to keep in touch with both Kevin and Sheamus at HQ and each other when they needed to split up for recon. Christine was doing a weapons check as Lady, the master strategist of the group, went over the plan, "OK, are we clear on the plan? This place only has one-hundred-twenty-five rooms and three floors, besides that freaking clock tower. The smaller the space, the easier it is to encounter the enemy. I go schmooze some of the staff to see if they know anything. Phoenix will check the layout of the roof for power supplies and such. Cherry is disguised as maintenance to sneak into the lower levels."

Christine nodded, "If RKO is holding him anywhere, it's going to be there instead of a hotel room. You know, this place is haunted. Cherry, remember the wild party we went to here with Def Leppard and saw the ghost of that little girl?" Cherry was not paying any attention to what her sister was saying. She was acting antsy and keyed up, like she was ready for a fight. Her eyes were focused on the hotel, but her mind was solely on Drew. She said to herself, "Please let him be OK!"

Christine waved her hand in front of her face, which snapped her back to reality, "Yes, I remember. Pretty sure the Long Island Iced Teas we had that night had something to do with that." Lady asked, "Cher, is something wrong? You seem way too geared up and tense for a mission." In the two years since the group first formed, everyone had become close, like an unorthodox family. The three ladies had formed a bond closer than sisters and could finish each other's sentences and almost read each other's minds. At this moment, Cherry was wishing that was not the case.

Cherry shrugged, "Just focused on getting Drew back safe. That's all." Christine smiled, "Uh huh. And none of your thoughts are about how hot he looked in those low riding jeans last night." Cherry sighed, "Really, Chris? You wanna do this right now? You can rag me about this make-believe relationship you think Drew and I are in after we rescue him. OK?" Lady rolled her eyes, "Chris, leave her alone for now. But I agree. There is something between you two."

Cherry said, "Enough! Kevin & Sheamus, can you hear us?" Sheamus, sitting beside Kevin at the HQ control panel responded with a laugh, "Loud and clear, lass. And for what it's worth, I think you and the wanker would make a cute couple!" Cherry was getting irritated, "Oh my god! Shut up!" Kevin shouted, "OK enough of this middle school bollocks. Get in there and rescue McIntyre!" Christine snarled, "For fuck's sake, don't scream in our ears, numb nut!" The girls link pinkies and said, "For Drew and Angela." Before they parted on missions, this was their ritual. A nod to remember who and what they're fighting for.

Lady entered through the front door to the lobby by herself. Dressed elegantly in the purple riding outfit, she looked like the high-priced clientele the hotel loved to cater to. She slinked and mingled among the crowded lobby like she owned the place. She made her way over to the front desk.

She saw the cute blonde guy working the night shift and went about charming him, "Well, hey there, cutie", she paused as she looked at his nametag, "oh, I mean Shawn!" The young man blushed, "Well, good evening, ma'am. Welcome to the Union Station." She leaned over the desk and said, "Well, I just got here but my husband actually checked in a few hours ago. Have you seen him? You might know him…WWE Superstar Randy Orton."

Shawn's eyes lit up, "Oh yes, Mrs. Orton! I'm a big fan! Yes, the last I saw him, he was going down the hall past the elevators that way.", pointing to the long corridor leading to double doors. She smiled, "Thank you! You're so sweet! Only problem is he was supposed to meet me down here with the key to our room and text me our number. I bet he fell asleep on me and he's not answering his texts. If only I knew which number we were in. I could go knock on the door and wake him up. Humpf!"

Shawn looked around and said, "Ma'am, I'm not supposed to do this, but I'm a big fan and you've been really sweet." He typed into the desk computer. "You're in Room 313, ma'am." Lady smiled sweetly, "You are just the best! Thank you so much!" As she headed towards the elevator, she whispered in her headset, "Cherry, you copy on that last known location of the Viper?" She said, "Way ahead of you. Heading there now." Lady spotted her getting ready to enter the doors at the end of the hallway. Cherry nodded, and disappeared behind the wooden exits.

Christine was impressed, "Damn, Lady! You're so smooth. Poor sucker!" Lady whispered as she got on the elevator, "OK, I'm headed to his room to snoop for clues. Phoenix, you found the power controls yet?" She said, "Up o the roof and looking for the room now. Too bad Sheamy couldn't just hack into the system."

Sheamus told them from HQ, "Sorry about doing this the hard way, but this building is so old, none of the codes worked. We can hack into the keycard system though. Once yer in the room, lass, turn on the video and I'll walk ya through what needs ta be done. You'd think if this swanky place update ta keycards, they'd have an updated infrastructure ta hack inta!"

Kevin was annoyed, "Can we talk tech later, mate? Let the ladies concentrate on the mission." Drew gave him the side eye, "Christ, ya reall are a pill, Kev! Well now, we wait fer Lady ta find out any extra info, and Cherry ta find Drew. Let's just hope whatever Randy's up ta, it's not too late."

Lady got off the elevator on the third floor and made her way down the gray walled and blue carpeted hallway to Room 313. She said, "OK Sheamus, activate the new bracelet." Sheamus had created a device that could open any keycard required door. He disguised them as custom bracelet for the girls which they wore at all times; Christine's was black, Cherry's in red, and Lady held her purple one up to the door. Sheamus entered the hack code and the door unlocked.

She quietly entered the room and looked around, "He hasn't even unpacked anything. This should make the search easy." Sheamus sniffed, "We all do that. We're only in rooms fer the night most times." After a brief search in the bathroom and around the bedroom, she started carefully going through his travel bag. "Nothing of significance. Ugh! Dirty tights stink so bad! Ew!"

She rifled through the back portion of his luggage and pulled out several small papers. She inspected them closely, "These look like meal receipts. Maybe for expense reporting…wait, what's this?" She unfolded a long receipt, "This looks like a wire transfer." Kevin asked, "Who's it from, Lady?" She said, "There's no sender name. It's just states, "You know who this is from and what it's for, idiot. And it better be done by 1AM!". That's in an hour. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! It's for one million dollars!" She snapped a picture of the transfer.

Kevin's eyes were like saucers, "That's gotta be from whoever is funding the attack on Drew! Lady, get the original and we can analyze it." She said as she placed in her purple clutch bag, "I'm way ahead of you, sweet thing. I'm headed back down and outside the hotel. I'll wait for Cherry's word that she needs help after she's found Drew. Come on, girl!"

Christine held her black bracelet up to the sensor, "OK code me, my hot Irish daddy!" Kevin palmed his face, "Oh, fer fuck's sake, ya two! Get a room!" As he entered the code, Sheamus chuckled, "We have many of those we've broken in already." Kevin gave the stink eye to him, as the code opened the door to the power supply door for Christine, "If you two are done with your pissing contest, I'm in. Turning on video now."

The video monitors at HQ started showing the feed, and Sheamus examined the footage, "OK. It's pretty antiquated, but simple is good. Looks like there is a separate fuse box to each section of the hotel. You will have ta break those locks on the correct panel door and removed or blow the fuse, but I'm assuming ya have a tool fer that, lass." She rolled her eyes, "Don't I always? Nothing beats playing with your tool though, baby."

Kevin threw up his hands, "Will you two shut up?!" Christine said, "Lady, I thought you plied this guy plenty of alcohol at last night's party to remove that large stick from his ass." Lady said as she exited to stand outside and wait, "I did! I mean…sorry, Kevin." Christine said, "OK. Now we wait for Cher. Come on girl! Go find your large, brutish, doofy, Scottish Prince Charming!"
