Hello, my lovies! Thank you as always to my girls wwechristina, Tm12Brady and GoldenGirl1920 for their continued positive feedback! Love y'all!

Now it's time to see the fallout from the RKO Incident! What is gonna happen with our favorite "Will they? Won't they?" couple? Let's find out! Enjoy!

The Debrief

After arriving at HQ, it was time for Kevin to debrief the Angels and Drew and collect any intel and evidence collected the incident. It had been a really hairy situation with this mission! The Angels found themselves in quite the predicament trying to keep RKO from taking Drew down. Luckily, Cherry remembered a contact that she knew the Viper couldn't resist in the form of her close friend, Denise. They were still unsure of his motivations, but they were confident he wasn't working alone. Especially after the encounters both Lady and, later, Drew and Cherry had with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. Hopefully, now with Denise as a permanent distraction, Randy Orton would leave Drew alone.

Sheamus analyzed the wire transfer paperwork that Lady had found in Randy's travel bag. He announced his findings, "This wire was routed several times, but it originated in Tampa, Florida. Mate, I hate ta say this, but it could be someone yer close ta trying ta hurt ya." Drew put his face in his hands, frustrated as hell, "That's just bloody great! Now, I don't know who ta trust outside of you guys!" He pounded is large fist on the table in anger. Cherry wanted to go to him and tell him everything was going to be alright. But he had just been through hell and he knew he needed to work things like this in his own head, so she let him be for now.

She and Christine was in a "decompress session" with Lady while Kevin talked with Drew and Sheamus. Lady would normally have these after a mission as a way for the group to get things off their chests without judgment. Cherry looked at her with mirth, "So, that sleepy time powder worked on the Moron Twins, eh?" Lady smiled, "Yeah, they went out like a light. And I overheard you Drew kicking their asses. Nice job!" Christine decided to poke the bear a little, "You two make quite an unbeatable couple… I mean, team." Cherry gave her the side eye, "Chris, I'm exhausted and my nerves are shot. Not the right time to needle me." Christine was worried about her, "Hey, it was just a joke." Cherry got up and went to the balcony door and said sarcastically, "I'm laughing hysterically!"

She went outside and slammed the door behind her. She collapsed in one of the balcony chairs and looked up at the dark Nashville sky. Tears started flowing down her face. She looked directly across from where she was sitting and that didn't help her mood at all. It was the exact location of her first kiss with Drew. She ran her hands through her hands and screamed, "Fuck!"

Her emotions were raw and were starting to get the better of her and that was not a good thing in her line of work. She had been angry with Drew when she though he stood her up, only to change to profound worry when she found out he had been captured by Orton. She had experienced severe danger from trying to save Drew from his captors, and intense pleasure from their intense kisses before the escape.

She was falling in love with him, but really didn't know the depth of his feelings for her. She had also sworn to never get personally involved with anyone she was assigned to protect as it could lead to a failure to keep that person safe. She denied her true feelings to the rest of the group, feeling like they would never understand or accept how she felt about him. But she was personally involved with him, and could lie to the Angels, but she couldn't lie to herself.

With these emotions swirling in Cherry's head, Christine came outside to check on her, "Hey, Cher. I'm so sorry. You went through the ringer earlier, and I should've just dropped the talk about you and Drew. I'm really sorry." Cherry wiped the tears from her face and put on a fake smile, "Eh, you're brash and have no tact. But I love you anyway. I know you didn't mean no harm."

Christine saw the faraway look in her friend's eyes and asked, "Penny for your thoughts." Cherry said, "If I had a penny for every thought I've had roll through my brain since I've been out here. I'd have a lot of pennies." Christine said, "You know you can talk to me, right? About anything." Cherry shrugged, "I know. I'm just not ready to have that conversation with anyone. But you will be the first person I talk to when I am ready. I promise." Christine nodded with a smile, "OK. Fair enough. OK, let's go save McInfart from Kevin's inane questions. Good grief! Poor guy has suffered enough tonight!

The Angels were finishing up and getting ready to leave as the debriefing was winding down for the night. When Kevin announced there would be a final debrief the following morning, the day before Drew left to go back to Tampa, there was a collective groan from the rest of the team. Christine was going over some files with Sheamus, and Lady Christina started telling Kevin about the plans for her next party, which Kevin was more than excited to attend with her as her plus one again, charming her with his normal cheesy grin.

Cherry smiled as Drew looked like he was still being tortured, this time by the usual questioning from both Kevin and Christine. She honestly felt bad for him after all the excitement and trauma he had endured this night. He looked like he could use some peace and quiet. He looked like he could use a cup of coffee. He looked like he needed some incredible, mind-blowing sex. Either way, she decided she wanted to provide whichever option he preferred.

She approached him and touched him on the shoulder. They both felt that the spark, the heat, that existed between them ever since they met. Yet somehow after tonight's events, this was turning into a raging fire. She softly asked, "Drew, are you ok? You look like Kev is getting on your nerves." Kevin piped in, "I heard that, Cherry!" She shouted, "I meant for you to hear it, goober!"

Drew laughed, "Doesn't he always? Yeah, I'm fine, I guess. I think I just need a shower and maybe a nice cup of coffee. I don't really feel like sleeping right now. Too keyed up." He looked up at Cherry smiling. After the last two years of built up off the charts sexual tension between the two of them, the kiss they shared the night before and the scene that played out in the hotel basement before the power cut off was a revelation for both of them. They felt the same way about each other. They were in love, even if they didn't want to admit it yet. When she touched his shoulder just now, he wanted nothing more than to pull her into his lap and rip her clothes off. His smile was too much for her and she wanted nothing more than to get lost in his blue eyes.

But seeing him in such a riled-up state after his ordeal gave her a brilliant idea. She suggested, "Hey, I tell you what. Come over my place. I'm right on the river so it's good and quiet. You can take a nice hot shower and I can make you some coffee. Even though I'm a tea drinker, I have a Keurig. You'll be way more comfortable there than in your hotel room."

Now, Drew wanted nothing more than to go back to her place bury himself inside her while she screamed his name. But he thought about how he didn't want to impose on her. She had already rescued him. He owed her his life. She already owned his heart even if she didn't know it yet. He shook his head. "Nah. I don't wanna put you out or be a burden, so I'd better go back to the hotel." Drew said, looking slightly annoyed at the leader of their operation. "And, I mean, Kevin is a pill about these things and all."

She smirked and whispered, "It would be no burden on me. And don't you remember I can flirt my way into getting what I want? Don't worry. Just watch the master." Cherry went over to Kevin and put on her most cheerful face, "Hey Kev. Look, do you really think Drew's going to be safe at the hotel? I mean there's a lot of people there. Unless someone watches him, we can't guarantee whoever sent Randy won't strike again." "Well, if you have a better suggestion, spit it out.", Kevin grumbled.

She innocently said, "I can put him up at my place for his last couple of evenings here in Nashville. He'll be safe, and it's nice and quiet. Off the beaten path. I can keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't get into any more trouble. Please!", batting her green eyes at him. Kevin sighed and rolled his eyes, "Ok, fine, I guess. Just stop with the begging. And please, be careful."

She gave him a confused look, "I'll be careful. It's my place. I don't allow ninjas to storm my house or anything." Kevin eyed her, "Ya know what I mean, Cherry.", as he glowered at Drew. She looked over her shoulder, winking at Drew. He winked back with that devastating dimpled grin. "I saw that, McIntyre!", Kevin hollered. Drew gave him a smirk and rolled his eyes. Kevin warned, "Yer no saint!" "I am too a saint! Bugger off!", Drew hollered back. Cherry whispered with a chuckle as they walked out, "Liar!" He smiled, put his finger to his puckered lips, "Shhhh!"

As they watched their best friends leave together, Christine and Sheamus looked at each other. Christine gasped, "Did you hear that? Drew's going to stay with Cherry! You know what that means." Sheamus grumbled, "I really don't wanna think about him doing that, lass. And ya don't know if anything will happen between them." She gave him one of her "Are you kidding" looks, he said, "OK, I retract that last statement. I don't know why they're continue ta fight their feelings fer each other, but I don't think that's gonna last much longer."
