Well, the moment of truth is here! Will Drew & Sheamus be reunited with Cherry & Christine, or will they be arrested for murder? No more words, let's find out!
Angels In Scotland: Part 13 - Our Words & The Truth
University Hospital - Ayr, Scotland
After Christine left Drew to reunite with Cherry in her hospital room, she went to a private corner away from the noise and the Angels. Now she looked at the rumpled piece of paper Drew gave her. Just reading the first line made her emotional, "Oh Lord. Sheamy.", she moaned. She read the rest of the letter, feeling the love, passion, and sentiment in her Irishman's words. "He's not gonna be on the run. Over my dead body.", she mumbled to herself, "The birth and the rebirth. Us. The Celtic Snake and the Fiery Phoenix."
Her hands trembled as she spoke to herself. No other time in her life, not even when her parents died, had Christine ever felt so alone. Even though Cherry forgave her. Even though her family, the Angels, were right outside in the waiting room. Christine looked up, wondering if anyone from the heavens was listening, "If anyone is up there, if anyone cares, I'm weak. I'm nothing without Stephen. Why didn't I just die in that fire? Or in the shooting?"
At the same time outside Chery's room, Drew was ready to leave to go back to Jester's to hide. He felt like he had been ripped away from Cherry yet again. He suddenly turned to the other end of the hall, feeling a sharp pain inside him. "Sis?!", he said. Without any care, Drew went to the small room, shoving the door open.
Christine had her back to the door yet she knew who was behind her, Keeping her back to him, she sighed, "Drew, you have to leave. They're coming for you. Cherry needs you to not go to jail." He approached her slowly, "I won't leave without knowing yer OK." She shook her head, "You have to go now." Drew walked to face her, "Don't ya ever say you shoulda died! There's too many of us who need ya."
Christine looked away. Drew continued, "We need ya. Cherry's gonna need her Sis ta keep her laughing through this pregnancy. Kevin needs ya to be his pain in his arse. Lady and Denise are with child too. They're gonna need help." Drew cupped Christine's cheek, "My brother, Stephen, needs his woman. That whole snake and Phoenix thing. He's lost, Sis. He's lost and yer his anchor. Yer his compass."
Drew kissed her forehead, "And I need ya, Sis. As much as I need Cherry to complete this shell of a man, I need my big Sis ta keep my ass in line. I'm about ta become a dad. I need ya ta help me get ready fer my wee ones." She said, "I'm scared, Drew." Drew smiled, "We all are. It'll all work out. It has ta." She nodded, "It will. Now go get out of here!" Drew squeezed Christine's hand and bolted towards the back utility door where he had parked Jester's van.
She went back out the waiting room, rejoining Lady and Denise. They went to her, embracing her tightly. Lady got emotional, "I can't imagine what you and Cherry are going through right now." Denise, tried to put on a brave face, "They really can't believe Drew and Sheamus won't just kill two men for no reason, right? Let's go back in and stay with Cher until she's discharged."
Christine looked around, "Denise, where's Randy?" She responded, "He left, Christine. He said he had something to do to make things right with Drew." Christine said, "Randy's a good guy deep down. You made a good choice." Denise said "So did you. And I wouldn't have what I have now if it weren't for you guys, especially Cherry." Lady said, "We all have good men." Christine agreed, putting her hand in her pocket and feeling Sheamus' letter, "This is the truth. Good men and each other."
Several minutes later, Drew arrived safe and not arrested back at Jack's house. When he walked through the door, he was immediately met by Sheamus, Stu and Jack. Stu was incensed, "You fucking wanker! Don't you ever scare me like that again!" Drew smirked, "Didn't know ya cared like that, ya salty prat." Stu yelled, "Goddamn it, Drew! You know you weren't supposed to leave! What if you had been caught?" Drew shook his head and tried to go by them, "But I wasn't. I had ta make sure she was OK. That she and I were fine."
Jack stood up from his chair and stopped Drew, concerned for her best mate, "And? Are ya two fine, mate? Ya two still stupidly in love and getting married?" Drew sighed and gave a half smile, "Aye, we made up. I'm still gonna marry her as soon as humanly possible. Cherry and the babies are fine. She's leaving the hospital taday. I'm guessing she'll be going back ta Dad's place when she's released." All men exhaled with relief. None of his closest friends wanted to see Drew go through another heartbreak.
Stu then shook his head, "Drew, I know it's hard to stay away from her. You love her and I get it. But Kevin said it's not looking good getting the cops to listen. Don't take another chance like that!" Jack agreed, "Aye, he's right. Ya guys need ta stay right here. If the cops snoop around, I got some secret passages ya can hide away in here." Drew looked at Jester and said, "Ya really are Big Kink, aren't ya?" Jack shrugged, "We all need a hobby, mate!"
Stu looked like a lightbulb went off over his head and asked, "Jack, can I borrow your van? I think I have an idea that might get these two off the hook." Jack handed him the keys and said, "Go fer it. Just make sure ya fill her up. I'm sure this tosser didn't bother." Drew said, "I'm a wanted man, right? Can't be seen at the gas station." Jack through up his hands, "Oh no! Canny have that! Only at tha bloody hospital!"
Drew walked over to Sheamus, who was sitting on the ottoman in Jester's all black living room. The walls, the décor, and the furnishings were all in various shades of black. Sheamus had his head down with his elbows resting on his muscular thighs. He didn't even look up as he spoke, "Ya found my note fer Christine, didn't ya?" Drew sat down in front of him on the leather couch, "Aye."
Sheamus nodded, "Ya gave it ta her, didn't ya?" Drew put his hand on Sheamus' shoulder, "Aye again. She needed ta read yer words. She's hurting too. She's missing ya just as bad as yer missing her, mate. She and Cherry made up. Our lasses are amazing and strong gals. At this point, all we can do is pray we get ta marry them and I can be there ta see my babies being born." Sheamus was quiet, still reflecting on his actions against Adam.
Drew saw the conflict on his face and said, "Get outta yer own head, Sheamo. Ya did what ya had ta do. Yer woman loves ya no matter what." Sheamus heard what his best friend was saying, but his brain was still fogged over with anger and pain. All he wanted was his Phoenix in his arms, but given that Kevin had not been able to convince the police of the truth behind the killings, he was starting to doubt that he would feel her close to him again.
Cherry was getting dressed after getting the all clear for her discharge. She slid on the black leggings and long red knit sweater that Jane had brought for her to change in to. She picked up the dress she had been wearing for the party. The sexy red dress with the silver chains holding the wide slits on the thighs together. It was supposed to seduce Drew later that night. It was now splattered with Phil's blood. She shivered and shoved the dress into the duffel bag.
As she sat to put on her boots, she had to keep herself from crying again. Before putting on her clothes, she had overheard the conversation between her Angels family in the hall. They were talking about Kevin's last text: "Bad news. They are getting ready to issue a warrant for Drew and Sheamus' arrest. I'm trying but they are not listening."
She started to sob as she placed her hand on her lower belly and said to herself, "This can't be happening! I need Drew! Our babies need him! Sheamus and Christine…" She wiped her eyes and tried to breathe. She couldn't afford another panic attack right now. She had to think clearly. There was no way she was going to let this happen. The love of her life and the man who was closer than a brother was not going to prison for defending those that they love. She mumbled to herself, "Not on my watch, bitch!"
Andy, Christine, Lady and Denise came into her room. She could tell they were treading lightly, trying not to tell her the truth and upset her. Andy said, "OK, lass. Yev been sprung from this wretched place! Let's get ya back ta my house sa ya and those grandchildren can rest." She looked up at them with a solemn look, "Is it true? Are they going to arrest Drew and Sheamus?"
Lady sighed, "Honey, Kevin is trying as best as he can…" Cherry's tears started to flow again, "Please, Lady. Just tell me the truth. I'm not a fragile doll. I won't break. I need to know what we're up against." Denise looked at Christine and said, "Yes, it's true. Honey, I'm so sorry! Kevin will keep trying to help them. I'm sure Jack will hide them as best as he can."
Christine, swallowing the bitter lump in her throat, said, "Come on, Sis. Let's get you back to Papa Andy's place." Cherry stood up and demanded, "No! I'm not resting until Drew and Sheamus are safe and out of this mess I helped create!" Lady protested, "You didn't create any of this! Drew was saving you from that bastard."
Cherry looked directly into Christine's hazel eyes, "Chris, I'm not going to Andy's place. You guys are taking me to the police station." Denise protested, "Cherry, no! You can't put yourself or the babies in any more danger!" Andy pled with her, "Lass, please come with me. It would kill Drew if anything happened ta ya and those wee ones!" Cherry said directly to Christine, "Sis, please! We don't have a future with the men we love if we don't go. Drew and Sheamus saved our lives. Now we save theirs. Please!"
Christine had looked defeated and sad, but Cherry's words brought her back to her senses. She said to the group as she looked back at her best friend, "She's right. Cher is right. We can't just stand by and do nothing. The police need to hear our story and they need to hear it from us, not Kevin. Their fate could be in our hands. Andy, drive us to the police station." Cherry nodded her head and embraced her Angel sister tightly. Christine whispered, "I'm so scared, Cher!" Cherry took her face in her hands and said, "Me too, Sis. But it's up to us to save them, not with our fists, but with our words and the truth."
Lochniver Guest House
Madcap Moss was sitting in his cheap motel room number 7, hiding out and nursing his many cuts and bruises from his fight with Randy, Jack and Stu. He winced, as he put the icepack on his eye, "Those fuckers hit like a Mack truck. Ha! Get it? Mack truck? McIntyre?" But then the numb nut realized he was all alone. He had run away from the fight after learning of Cherry's pregnancy. He wanted nothing to do with hurting an expectant mom.
In all honesty, he never wanted to anything to do with hurting anyone. He had been mad at Drew for making him and Happy Corbin look like idiots on camera, even though Drew had helped make him look like a million bucks in the ring. When Happy had approached him with a way to get back at Drew and make a LOT of money at the same time, he accepted because he trusted his friend. But the deeper he got into Taryn's stupidity and Phil's sinister web, the more he regretted joining their crusade against the Angels.
He thought to himself, "Especially when they whipped my ass at that hotel. Damn, Cherry can kick like a mule! But she's cute though." As he was thinking about this, he received a text from his now former partner Corbin: "You scaredy cat piece of shit! Thanks a lot! Now Phil will never pay us the money he owes us! Your pathetic! I'm leaving this goddamn country now!" Madcap rolled his eyes and answered: "I did the right thing and you know it. You hate Phil and Tayn as much as I do. And it's *you're*, dumbass!"
Suddenly, there was a banging on his door. Madcap jumped, not answering at first. Then, he heard that menacing, way too calm voice that was sure to haunt his nightmares going forward, "Moss, you idiot. I know you're in there. It's Orton, and you better open this door or I will kick it down and beat your ass beyond repair." Madcap yelled back, "Go away, Orton! I said I would leave Drew and Cherry alone and I meant it!"
Randy seethed, but cocked his head over to the side and tried to sooth his raging anger, "Cap, listen. I know you were the least responsible for this. And you did the right thing. But we need your help. Drew and Sheamus need your help. And you know the code for the boys and girls in the locker room. You help your brother or sister when they are in need. Now, open the damn door so I can talk to you."
Madcap approached the door hesitantly, "Do you promise not to hurt me?" Randy said flatly, "Just open the door. This is very serious." Madcap, with shaking hands, unlocked the chain and doorknob lock and opened the door. A stern and serious Randy stepped inside. He sneered, "Where's the other idiot? Your partner in crimes of fashion, among other things?" Madcap said, "Corbin is getting on a plane back to the states right now. We're no longer partners. I told you I would never mess with Drew again. You have my word."
Randy considered him, "You know, you always seemed like a follower to me and not very bright. But you being willing to walk away at the brawl proved me wrong. If you want to make things right with Drew, I have the perfect way." Madcap shook his head, "Look, I don't want any more trouble and I want out of all this shit. I just need Phil to pay me what he owes me and…"
Randy interrupted, "Well, getting paid by a headless man is quite impossible." Madcap wondered, "What are you talking about?" Randy inched closer to him, "He's dead, Cap. Drew killed him." Madcap started to laugh, "Haha! That's a good one! Mr. Goody Two Shoes Galloway? Nice try!" Orton's temper was finally let loose, "You little shit! You think I would joke about something like this? I saw the body! Drew sliced that shitbag's head clean off his shoulders after he threatened to take Cherry and kill those babies! And Sheamus beat your little burnout buddy to death when he threatened Christine! They are dead! And that fucking whore is having surgery and going straight to the crazy house after Christine beat her senseless!"
Madcap literally fell on his ass onto the bed, "Jesus!" Randy settled down and said, "Cap, you seem like a decent guy who was led astray. We need your help. The police are not buying the self defense thing even though it's the truth. You can help set all this straight and get Drew and Sheamus cleared of these ridiculous charges."
Madcap eyed him, "And if I don't? Look, I was never involved in the planning of any of this. I just followed out orders." Randy suddenly grabbed him by his suspenders and wrapped them around his neck. With Madcap straining for breath, Randy railed, "You fuck stick! Telling what you know shows premeditation on their part! Phil planned on kidnapping Cherry and killing Drew and the Angels! Didn't he?" Madcap gasped, "I didn't know about killing, but yes! He planned on taking her and destroying Drew! And Taryn and Adam talked about doing the same with this Phoenix girl! I can't breathe!" Randy said, "Then that is what you need to tell the cops. It's either that, or you deal with me!"
Police Scotland
Kevin was sweating bullets and worried beyond belief. He had been at the police station for hours at this point trying to argue on Drew and Sheamus' behalf. All of this seemed to be for nothing. No matter any evidence Kevin had showed them, since no other witnesses came forward, they were getting ready to hold a press conference detailing the charges of murder against Andrew Galloway and Stephen Farrelly, as well as a reward for information on their whereabouts.
Kevin started pleading with the Chief Inspector again, "Officer Stewart, please just listen ta me! I implore ya reconsider! This was a case of self-defense, not cold-blooded murder. That's not in either of their natures, sir." Chief Inspector Stewart, in his mid-fifties with salt and pepper hair and weathered facial features, looked at Kevin and sighed, "Son, I've listened ta ya fer hours now. Ya've provided no actual proof of self-defense. We have two dead bodies, and they didn't beat or behead themselves. I'm sorry, but I have ta do this."
As he was getting ready to go out to face the press, a bustle of activity flew through the door of the precinct. Stewart bellowed, "What the bloody hell?" Kevin's eyes bulged out, "Cherry! Christine!" They stood there with Andy, Denise and Lady, who ran to Kevin's side. She told him, "Darling, Cherry refused to go back to Andy's place. She's determined to help Drew and Sheamus." Kevin shook his head, "Well, at this point, she couldn't hurt their case any worse."
Cherry and Christine walked up to Stewart. Cherry said, "Sir, we need to speak to you. My name is Ch… Leslie. My name is Leslie. Drew Galloway is my fiancé." Stewart groaned, "Yes ma'am. I'm sorry but I have ta talk ta tha media now." She grabbed his arm, "Sir, no. I need to speak to you regarding what happened tonight. Please! Christine and I can shed some light on everything, including the events leading up to what happened. Please just listen to us!"
Stewart looked out at the media scrum, then back to Cherry. He relented, "OK. Let's hear what ya have ta say, lass." Cherry took a deep breath, "In my life before meeting Drew, I was in a relationship with…Phil Rumsfeld." She swallowed hard. Saying that name almost put her into hysterics like it had for the past few years. But she knew she had make it through this. Her life with Drew was at stake.
She continued, "It was a very abusive relationship in every way possible. I degraded, demoralized, beaten and raped by him over a period of several years. Long story short, I escaped from him and had to change my name, appearance…everything. I made a life for myself, and I met Drew. We fell in love. But there has been a conspiracy by our enemies, including both decedents, to take Drew out. They have kidnapped him twice, drugged him, and last night, they ambushed us during a celebration dinner with the intent of taking me and inflicting bodily harm on my friends and family."
Stewart looked thoughtfully at the group, "Is this all true?" Everyone nodded, but Christine spoke up, "The other dead guy, Adam Ridge, was my husband. He once violated me and tried to burn me to death in a fire, along with Taryn Terrell, who you have in the hospital now. Adam told Stephen in the middle of their fight that he was going to do the same to me last night." Cherry put her arm around her and said, "And Phil… He got even angrier when he found out…that I'm pregnant with Drew's twins. Taryn Terrell, Drew's ex-wife, struck me and caused me to hit my head. She would've kicked me in the stomach had Christine and Randy Orton not interceded. Phil told Drew that he was going to take me back and rip my babies out of my womb."
Her tears started to flow as Stewart looked on. She concluded, "Officer Stewart, I know you have a job to do. But Drew and Stephen were not only defending themselves from this premeditated attack, but they saved our lives. Please don't arrest them. They are guilty only of loving and protecting us. I need Drew. I need him with me when I deliver his babies. I love him, and Christine loves Stephen." Stewart waved his hand, "Lass, I believe you, but I have ta have more witnesses than just yer party. Can ya provide that?
At that moment, Randy busted into the station, "I can provide that for you. Riddick Moss here was involved in the plot with the two dead pieces of shit!" He bodily hauled Madcap Moss inside as Stewart marveled, "Holy shite! Ya really meant THAT Randy Orton, didn't ya?" Randy dragged Madcap to the seat by Stewart's desk and said, "Mr. Moss, kindly explain to the officer about everything you assholes did to Drew and Sheamus."
As Madcap explained his part in the gang and all the information he knew about Phil's plan, Cherry went to Randy, who had embraced Denise. She said, "Randy, I don't know what to say." He shrugged, "You don't have to say a thing. I told you all that I wanted to make things right with Drew. And I wouldn't have this amazing woman in my arms if it hadn't been for you. I'm eternally grateful to you all for this."
Cherry nodded, "Just make her happy. That's all I ask. And hope that what Madcap has to say works." Denise kissed Randy, hugged Cherry, and said, "He definitely makes me happy. No worries there." Randy smiled and said, "I was hoping to get lame ass Corbin too. But he had already skipped the country. I doubt any of us will have any issues with that shit for brains again."
They heard Madcap finish up his statement, "When I overheard that Cherry was pregnant, I started to think about when I find someone and start to have a family with her. How would I feel if someone tried to hurt her? Even though I had started to regret my part before this, that's when I knew I had to walk away. Drew didn't deserve that. None of them did. Anyway, that's all I know. Drew and Sheamus were just defending themselves. Please don't arrest them…or me!"
Stewart took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes, "This is all well and good, but it would help yer case to have another witness that wasn't in either side's party. We need proof that all of what was said is not hearsay." Randy was incensed, "All of us heard what those bastards said! We didn't all dream this up!" Stewart would not budge, "This is a serious matter and I need ta make sure nothing is left ta chance. Now, can ya bring me another impartial witness?"
Cherry and Christine looked at each other, but with tears in their eyes. Everyone looked at Kevin, who shook his head. Lady buried her face in his chest, "This can't be happening!" Stewart stood up from his seat and put his hand on Cherry's shoulder, "I'm sorry, lasses. But I'm gonna have ta bring them in." Cherry started to cry. Christine picked up a paperweight and chucked it across the floor, screaming in frustration. Denise sobbed to Randy, who held her, disappointed and angry.
As Stewart was getting ready to head out for the press conference, the door opened again. Exasperated, Stewart threw up his hands, "What the fuck is this? It's like a clown car but with wrestlers! That looks like Wade Barrett!" Stu came running in, "Please tell me I'm not too late! I have someone that can help Drew and Sheamus!" Cherry screamed, "Stu! You have something?"
He smirked and couldn't resist the gag, "I'm afraid I got some great news. Come on in, sir." An older man walked into the station behind him. Stu said, "Officer, this is Ian Scott. He's the manager and owner of The Waterfront. He has something he needs to tell you." Kevin said, "Of course!" Stu went to Cherry and Christine smiling, "You're not the only one that loves those bloody wankers. They both owe me one though."
Cherry said, "And I owe you something." She hugged Stu tightly. Stu put his arms around her and said, "Drew is a very lucky man." She half laughed, "I guess I should apologize about the phone sex prank call after all." As this was happening, Christine still looked apprehensive. She didn't want to believe they were out of the woods until it was official. She couldn't afford to get her hopes up, only to have her heart broken and her future going up in flames, to turn a phrase.
A frazzled Mr. Scott spoke, "As the young bloke said, I'm tha manager of the Waterfront." Stewart asked, "OK Mr. Scott. Did ya see or hear anything regarding the ruckus last night?" Mr. Scott said, "Aye. I heard and saw it all. I was outside the restaurant, bringing in a delivery, and saw this lass outside crying.", pointing to Cherry, "Then, the bugger that lost his head. He was tormenting the poor lass. Then a group with a whorish looking trollop and some guys, including this one here…", pointing to Madcap, "…started to crowd around her."
He continued, "Well, the tall, good looking guy with long hair and the redheaded Irish fella came out ta help her. I saw the fight and heard everything. The blonde stoner guy told the redhead guy that he was gonna rape his lass again. The trampy blonde struck this lovely lass here and knocked her out. The other bastard told the long hair that he was gonna rip the babies out of the lass. What were those boys supposed ta do? They were protecting their women and children! Good riddance ta garbage, I say!"
Stewart shook his head, feeling like he just stepped out of a whirlwind, "Is that yer official statement, Mr. Scott?" Ian shrugged, "Aye. The two lads were defending themselves. And I don't blame them." Stewart looked at the group before him, all breathlessly hanging on every word. Stewart slammed his hand down on his desk, startling them all. He bellowed, "Henderson, send the press away. There's no need fer a conference. Mr. Galloway and Mr. Farrelly are being cleared of all charges. Justifiable actions due to self-defense. Case is closed."
Jack Jester's Sexy House
Jack watched his phone, waiting on any word from someone regarding the charges against Drew and Sheamus. He would glance at the two of them every now and then. Drew had been pacing since taking a shower when he returned to his house. Sheamus still sat silent and stoic, seemingly afraid to breathe, still fumbling with the ring in his pocket. Jack said, "Drew, yer gonna wear a hole on my carpet, mate!" Drew still walked the floor. He never heard whether Cherry made it safe back to his dad's house. He was running his fingers through his long, black hair.
There was a knock at the door. Jack jumped up and whispered, "Get in that secret passage! Now!" Drew and Sheamus opened the hidden black oak door and stepped in quickly. They listened, almost praying it wasn't the police were looking for them. Sheamus said softly, "Whatever happens, I love ya, fella." Drew nodded, "I love ya too, brother." Shemaus lamented, "I don't wanna go ta prison, brother. I wanna marry Christine and live the rest of my life with her." Drew nodded, "I know how ya feel, brother. I need to be there with Cherry when she gives birth. I wanna be a good father and watch my wee ones grow up. And I can't lose Cherry. She completes me and makes me better man."
Jack went to open the door and screamed, "OK ya buggers! Just ta let ya know I'm naked as tha day I was born but better looking." A feminine voice from outside the door yelled, "Lee Grieg! Ya open this door right now! And ya better atl east put yer underpants on, young man!" He threw the door open, "Miss Jane! What're ya doing here?", as she rushed by him. Drew and Sheamus came out from their hiding place.
Drew ran to her, "Jane! What is it? Is Cherry OK?" She had tears in her eyes and hugged Drew tightly, which caused his panic to soar. Sheamus implored, "Jane, what's wrong? Did something bad happen?" Jane came out of the embrace with a smile as she touched Drew's cheek, "Nothing is wrong. In fact, everything is perfect! Get yer things and come with me. All of ya! Yer both are free! They're not pressing charges!"
Drew half laughed through tears, while Sheamus held his face in his hands. Drew said, "Is this real?" As Jack smiled behind her choking back his own tears, Jane cried, "Yes! Andy called me all excited! Cherry and Christine risked it all ta tell tha police everything. Randy had Madcap come in and spill his guts. And Stu brought the restaurant owner. He heard and saw everything and vouched fer yer innocence! Andy's taking everyone back ta our house. Now c'mon! I got a wedding ta plan in a short amount a time and you lads have yer loves ta kiss!"
Andy Galloway's Home
With all the excited hustle and bustle downstairs, Cherry and Christine had retreated to Drew's childhood bedroom in Andy's house. Christine sat on the edge of Drew's bed while Cherry sat with her knees up resting her chin on her knees looking out the window. They sat in silence for the longest time. They needed the quiet. Both had no words for all the hardship and trauma they had not just endured of the previous forty-eight hours, but for the last several years.
But those horrors were gone now. Their nightmares were deceased, and they were both free to be with the men they loved. Christine finally spoke, "How you feeling over there, Sis?" Cherry said, "Numb. Like, I feel as if I should still be looking over my shoulder. That we will never be safe. But we are. It's over. They're dead. Drew and Sheamus are coming back to us. We're going to get married and have these babies. But why do I feel like another shoe is going to drop?"
Christine huffed as she walked over to her best friend, "So it's not just me who feels that way. But it really is finished. Those two assholes are dead. They can't hurt us anymore. You're getting your fairytale with your handsome, doofy Scottish Prince Charming and I… I get my Stephen." Cherry got emotional as Christine held her left hand, "We almost lost them. We almost lost everything. Chris, we almost lost each other."
Christine squeezed her hand, "But we didn't. Almost only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and missing stepping in dog shit." Cherry managed to laugh as she wiped her eyes, "You really have a way with words, Chris." Christine shrugged as she hugged her, "That Shakespeare guy ain't got nothing on me." She reached down to touch Cherry's belly, feeling those two special little energies, "And these two get to know what a big time doofus their dad is, so all is right with the world."
The group downstairs sat waiting for Jane to return. There was a buzz of excitement in the air. The good guys had won, and there was going to be a wedding soon. Stu had joined then and sat talking to Randy and Denise. Kevin and Lady sat together holding hands. She had another bout of morning sickness earlier, but Cherry produced her secret weapon for nausea before retreating upstairs: ginger pops.
Lady chewed on them as she sat trying to calm her gag reflex. She checked her email and saw she had a response from Parabon Nanolabs regarding Christine and Alyssa's DNA profiles. She read the results and was floored. There was a 25% match between their samples. Lady now had to figure out how to tell Christine that the little girl that they had found alone outside HQ was her estranged sister's daughter, her niece.
That was when Drew and Sheamus busted through the door with Jane in two. The whole gang rushed them, but parted when Andy broke through the crowd. The sweet elder Galloway couldn't hold back his tears, "Andrew!" Drew embraced his dad with a hearty hug, "It's OK, Dad. It's OK." Sheamus joined in and Andy clinched both hard. Lady sobbed as she congratulated both of them. Drew grinned, "Lady, I know yer hormones are working ya, but ya don't have ta cry anymore." She playfully slapped him on the arm and said, "Hey! You better get used to it!"
Randy stuck out his hand to Sheamus first, then Drew, who looked at him, this once mortal enemy. He said, "Ya saved my babies, Randal. Thank you." Randy nodded, "Thank you for your forgiveness. We're cool now. Plus, our girls are close so I have a feeling we'll be hanging out a lot." Kevin interrupted, "This is true. Because, well, Lady, Christine and I have been talking. We want to offer Denise a place with the Angels, if she wants to accept." And excited Denise jumped up and down, "Are you shitting me? Of course, I accept!"
Sheamus looked over at the staircase, and he locked eyes with her, his beloved, the woman he loved more than anything on the face of the Earth. He hurried over to Christine, who was standing at the bottom of the stairs. He picked her up in a rush and kissed her. Christine's tears flowed as she felt the love between them grow even stronger.
Both were overcome with emotion as Sheamus sat her down, looked over at Andy and asked, "Pa Andy, is it OK if I do this?" Andy smiled and nodded, "Go fer it, lad!" Sheamus got down on one knee and pulled out the silver ring with the three pink stones out of his pockets. Christine sobbed as Sheamus professed his love, "My beautiful Christine, the blood in my heart, the air in my lungs. I love ya more than I could ever tell ya. Will ya marry me?" She nodded her head before he could even get the words out, "Yes! Yes, Stephen! I will marry you, my hot Irish daddy!"
Everyone cheered as Sheamus slipped the ring on her finger with a smile, and stood up to kiss her soundly. Stu shouted jokingly, "Please don't ever call that wanker that disgusting name in my presence again!" Christine came up for air long enough to say, "Blow it out your salty ass, Stu!" The party all laughed as they continued to kiss and forget that anyone else in the world existed around them.
At that time, Drew walked over to Cherry, who was standing on the last step. They looked at each other with all the love in the world as Drew reached over to cradle her lower belly with his right hand. He said, the first thing that came to his mind, "Tha sinn a 'pòsadh, mo ghaol." Her lips hovered right at his as she asked, "And what does that mean?" He smiled and said, "We're getting married, my Love." He picked her up, spun her around, and kissed her tenderly. After all the turmoil this trip to Scotland had brought them, it was finally time for Drew and Cherry, and the entire Angels family, to start their happily ever after.
