Angels In Scotland: Part 19 - The Wedding of Drew and Cherry
Part One
Cherry felt the bright, warm sun peeping through the blinds on her face. It was time to wake up. It was time to get ready to get married! Her eyes fluttered open and saw she was not alone in her room. She was surrounded by her girls, her family. Christine and Lady were on one side, Denise and Krystal on the other. All were sitting on the side of the bed. They all shouted as she rose, "Happy wedding day!"
She smiled and laughed as she sat up in bed, "I can't believe it's actually here! I'm getting married today!" Krystal said, "It's like we've always dreamed about. Only we're in Scotland and your future husband is way hotter than any guy we went to school with!" Lady fussed over her, "OK, sit up against the headboard. You have breakfast in bed, beautiful bride!"
Lady produced a white tray at her lap with toast, sausage links, steaky bacon, tattie scones and a fried egg. Cherry started to devour the traditional Scottish breakfast when she noticed poor Denise and Lady starting to turn green. She snickered, "Ginger pops are in my bag." Christine laughed, "Damn, Sis! You're hoovering down that food! How come you're not getting sick like these two?" Cherry said, as she shoved a piece of bacon in her mouth, "Those pops help. Plus, I'm more having food aversion than nausea. I can literally smell everything in this room. Krystal is wearing Chanel No. 5 again."
Krystal marveled, "Damn! I barely put any on! That's crazy!" Denise took a deep breath and chewing the ginger pop, "Oh hell, that's so much better! It wouldn't be a lovely site if I vomited all over my dress. Oh, sorry about that visual while you're eating, Cher!" But Cherry wasn't paying attention. She was looking at her phone. She smiled as tears started to pool her eyes reading a text from Drew: "Today's the day, my Love! You will be my wife soon. I can't wait to see you walk down the aisle to me. I love you with all my heart!"
Christine sat beside Cherry and read the text with her. She put her arm around her, hugging her tightly, "You did it, Sis. You both did it. You made it. Nothing is standing in your way. You and my bro are getting hitched!" Cherry shook her head, "It still doesn't seem real." Denise interjected, "Well, girl. It is real! You're marrying your hot Scottish hunk in a few hours. Don't cry and make your eyes all red!" Cherry wiped her eyes and laughed, "You're right. Well, now I've devoured my food, I should get a shower. Then I need to do everyone's makeup."
Lady put her hands on your hips as Cherry stood up, "Excuse me! You are not doing anyone's makeup! This is your day! Christine and I took care of that." Christine said, "We got the best hair and makeup artists in the area here to doll us all up." Chery shook her head, "You didn't have to…" But Lady wouldn't let her finish, "You shush! Yes we did!" Krystal said, "And I have already talked to the reception DJ. The music is gonna be fire, girl! Now, scoot! Get in the shower so you can put on that gorgeous red dress and marry your fine ass man!"
After her shower and drying her hair, Cherry and the girls retreated to the bridal room. The entire beauty team Lady and Christine hired was waiting for the bridal party. They made up Krystal and she slipped into her gorgeous short black dress. One by one, the Angels were made up to the nines and slipped into their black bridesmaid's dresses. Their eye looks reflecting their favorite colors: Christine in green, Denise in blue, and Lady, since cherry would be wearing purple, opted for a pink look.
As the finishing touches were put on Cherry's look, before she put on her dress, the ladies surrounded her. Her eye makeup done in gorgeous hues of purple to make her green eyes pop. Her signature cherry red lips looked full and ready to kiss her groom. Christine said, "OK, time for all the mushy traditional stuff. Here is something old. Papa Andy wanted me to give this to you. It was his grandmother's wedding ring. I'll put it on your right hand middle finger." Cherry marveled at the heirloom, "That dear man. I love this family so much." Christine took her hand and said, "Your family. It's your family now, Sis."
Denise was next, "OK something new. I know how much you love Tiffany, and I had to go through the gigs to get this mailed to me in Scotland. But luckily, one of the London stores was accommodating when I called them." Cherry opened the robin blue box and emptied the velvet bag inside. It was a silver charm bracelet with four charms. Cherry gasped as she inspected the charms: a bride, a groom, and two sets baby feet for the twins, all in sterling silver. Cherry struggled to hold in her tears as Denise slipped it on her right wrist.
Lady stepped forward, "Alright! Something borrowed. And I mean borrowed! I need this back, but, it's perfect for you today, Sis. I love you!" She produced on a red velvet pillow one of her most prized tiaras. It was silver with rhinestones but had a winding thread of rubies running through it." The hairstylist took it and pinned it to Cherry's curly crimson up-do. Cherry put her hands to her heart and said, "I feel like a princess!" Lady smiled and said, "You are a princess, Sis. And you got your Prince Charming. A gorgeous, foul mouthed, horny Scottish Prince Charming."
Everyone laughed at this as Krystal presented her gift, "And now, something blue. Remember these?" Cherry gaped, "Our blue topaz necklaces we got on that trip to the beach? You still have these?" Krystal smiled as she placed the silver necklace with the blue stone around her neck, "Girl! Of course, I kept these! I knew I would see you again after… I just knew. And when Denise texted me that you were getting married, I knew I had to bring them for this great day. And that's exactly what this is. I'm wearing mine too."
The girls gathered around their sister, forming a circle a love and friendship. Cherry's voice quivered as she tried in vain not to cry, "You. Every single one of you are so special to me. You have all accepted me as I am, loved me, helped me through some incredibly tough and dark times. I don't know what I did in my life to deserve having such incredible women by my side, but I am forever thankful. I love you all!"
No one was able to hold in their sobs as they all enclosed in a big group hug. Christine broke first, blinking her tears away and saying. "Damn it! Go get in that gorgeous dress! As maid of honor, I'll come help you." They stepped behind the curtain and after Christine zipped her up, Cherry turned around and asked, "How do I look?" Christine smiled, "Like the most beautiful bride that ever existed!"
Cherry stepped from behind the curtain and turned around, "Here's the final look!" The girls all held hands and wept with happiness. With her curly up-do and tiara, Cherry was adorned in a gorgeous red lace mermaid dress with dressy straps, the bodice cut down close to her navel showing off her large cleavage. The nearly see-through lace clung to her curves and the train was long pooling at her feet, concealing her red cowgirl boots. The back of the dress was cut out in a gorgeous design exposing the alabaster skin on her back.
She stepped out just in time for both Kevin and Andy to join them. Andy started to cry as he hugged her, "My dear, sweet gal! Ya look beyond beautiful! My boy is gonna love what he sees. I only wish dear Angela were here ta see this." She asked, "Are you sure, Papa? And she is here. I fell her presence everywhere." He took her hand, looking at his grandmother's ring on her right hand, "Oh I'm more than sure. Well, all the guests have been seated. Sa many wrestlers! I hope a brawl won't break out!. I'm gonna go see my boy. You're a most welcome new member of my family." He kissed her hand and exited her dressing area.
Drew paced back and forth in the groom's room, waiting to go out and take his place at the aisle. Sheamus, Jack and Stu had to laugh at their friend. Jack said, "Drew, yer gonna make a whole in the floor! Calm down!" Stu said, straightening his tie, "Jack's right, mate. I've never seen ya so titted up before. Relax!" Drew could help but wonder, "Are we even sure she's here? She could've changed her mind."
Sheamus smacked him on the chest, "Are ya mad as a hatter, fella? She slept here last night. I caught a glimpse of the girls going in and out of the bride room. And she's madly in love with ya and having yer wee ones. Cherry is here. Yer Da just went in ta talk ta her." The groomsmen were all dressed in black kilts, button up shirts and waistcoats with knee high socks and buckled shoes.
Drew was dressed the same, except he wore a red and black tartan kilt, his beloved's favorite color. His long ebony hair slicked back into a ponytail, he cut quite a dashing and handsome figure. Sheamus approached him and whispered, "That thing ya took care of this morning. How did it go?" Drew smirked, "As well as ya think it did. But don't worry, that witch will never bother us again. I made it clear what would happen if she ever showed her fucked up face around us again." Sheamus nodded, "I hope yer right, mate. I've never seen ya sa happy, Drew. I'm very proud of ya and…I love ya, brother."
The two best friends embraced as Andy came back into the groom's room. Drew was antsy as he asked, "Well, Dad. Did ya see her?" Andy smiled and hugged his oldest son, joined by his youngest son, John, "Aye. Son, she looks sa beautiful. She's almost ready fer the ceremony." Drew huffed, "I need ta talk ta her." He headed out the door as John shouted, "Drew! Get back here! Ya can't see her before tha wedding!" Jack and Stu both shouting in tandem, "Bugger!" Sheamus only shrugged. He knew noting was keeping Drew Galloway from the woman he loves.
The bridal room was abuzz with activity with Kevin ready to take his place at Cherry's side and the girls lining up and getting their flowers. Krystal peaked her head out, waiting on Andy and John to walk her down to her seat when they heard her shout, "Drew! What in the hell are you doing out here? Get back in your room!" Cherry inhaled but then smiled as she said, "He has never been good at following the rules." Kevin rolled his eyes, "Tell me about it, Lass!"
She heard Drew bellow, "I just wanna talk ta Cherry! Please!" Christine looked at Cherry, who now had a look of panic on her face, and said, "OK. You stay on that side of the curtain though. I think you've scared your bride-to-be, McInfart! Good job!" Drew said, "Thanks, Phoen. I owe ya." She scoffed, "You owe me making my Sis and my little nieces or nephews happy. That is it."
Cherry headed over to the curtain as the others walked away to give them some privacy. She stood at a closed piece of two curtains as Drew asked, "My Love, are ya there?" She swallowed hard and looks pensive, "I'm here, Baby. Is everything OK?" Drew nodded and said, "I just needed ta hear yer sweet voice, Love. This is it! I'm sa ready ta marry ya." Cherry breathed a sign of relief and said, "I'm ready too! We made it, Drew. We made it together."
Drew stuck his hand between the two curtains and held it out to her, "You and me, Baby. You and our wee ones are all I need. I love ya, Leslie." Cherry couldn't contain her tears at this and took his hand in hers, "I love you too, Andrew. Let's get married." He grumbled, "Please let at least one of those wee ones be a boy sa we can name him Andrew sa you'll stop calling me that!" She laughed as she gripped his hand tighter, "Remember, I can call you anything I want. Now get back to your room so I can call you my husband!" He lifted her hand to his lips and gently kissed her knuckles, "Yes, my wife."
Drew left and went back to join the guys in the groom's room. Andy escorted Jane, and John walked down with Krystal as they took their seats, signifying to all in attendance the wedding was about to start. The groomsman, Jack and Stu, came down first. Sheamus walked down the aisle with his best friend for twenty years. Drew stood on the right side of the aisle beside the preacher and Sheamus, looking at the back anticipating seeing his love. He had glanced over to the side and fought back tears as he saw two large pictures of both their mothers, as if they were truly looking over this beautiful day.
The girls were lined up, Denise, Lady, and then Christine were in front of Cherry and Kevin. Kevin had her arms linked in his. The Angels all gave each other knowing looks, gave one last group hug and readied for their entrance. Phoenix grabbed Cherry's hand one last time and nodded, "It's time, Sis. Just remember to breathe."
This was the moment that Cherry had dreamed of since she met the arrogant brash, sweet, gorgeous Scotsman over three years prior. All of her wildest dreams were about to come true. Kevin gave her one last look, hugged her close and asked, "Are ya ready, Lass?" Cherry smiled and nodded, "I've never been more ready or wanted anything more in my life, Kevin. Get me down that aisle to the man I love!"
