The class walked around the building following Vlad-sensei as he guided us around the major areas of the building, such as the cafeteria, bathrooms and the changing rooms. Eventually we made it to the outside of the campus where a collection of buildings stood.
"These here are the gyms the school uses, let's head into gym gamma for now." Vlad led us into the building that was a wide-open field of concrete. "This building is where we will be practicing your ultimate moves with help from Cementoss, but for now we can use it for demonstrating your quirks."
"Sensei sir, how are we going to be demonstrating our quirks?" Shishida, the brown fur covered man spoke up with his arm raised.
"We can set up some dummies for you as targets or you can just display what your quirk is by showing off its effects. Once we're done then for those of you who want to I'll allow you to have a sparring match with another student who agrees." Vlad explained what was going to happen and motioned for a couple of students to help grab some targets and bring them over.
"We'll go in roll order, Awase, come up and show the class your quirk." The headband wearing boy walked up to the field and dragged two of the training dummies closer together.
"My quirk is called {Weld}, it allows me to fuse two objects together down to the subatomic level and undo my fusing." He placed his hands on the dummies and leaned them onto one another before activating his quirk, causing the touching area to fuse together.
He tried to pull the dummies apart to show that they were indeed connected before undoing his quirk.
"Excellent, next is Kaibara." Vlad nodded his head at the display before calling the dark-brown haired boy forward.
"My quirk is called {Gyrate}, it allows me to essentially any part of my body into a drill." He didn't bother going up to one of the dummies, instead just showing one of his arms and fingers rotating at high speeds.
"Impressive, Kamakiri you're next." Vlad called the next boy up.
"My quirk is called {Razor Sharp}, it allows me to produce sharp blades from anywhere on my body." The mantis man produced two sharp blades from his forearms before slicing through one of the training dummies, letting the body fall in half.
"You'll need to be careful when using that against people." Vlad mentioned, Kamakiri nodding his head in understanding. "Next is Kuroiro."
The black bodied student walked forward before turning to the class. "My quirk lets me merge my body with anything dark colored, becoming one with the abyss." He didn't give a demonstration, just leaving the class with a sly smile.
"Useful for recon. Kendo, step up." Vlad signalled for the red head to walk up which she did with a smile.
"My quirk is called {Big Fist}, its name is pretty self-explanatory; I can enlarge my fists." She turned to one of the dummies before getting into a stance and activating her quirk. She thrust with a punch and sent the dummy flying through to the other side of the room.
"Powerful, with training you'll be an impressive hero. Next up is Yui Kodai." The black-haired girl walked past Kendo without saying a word. She walked up to the dummy before touching in and shrinking its size.
She picked up the dummy and threw it on the ground before touching her fingers together and activated her quirk again, allowing the dummy to increase in size. All of this was done with no words being spoken.
"This could be useful in monitoring situations, shrinking a camera or tracking device so the target doesn't know there is anything on them." Vlad gave out some ideas for her quirk, Kodai nodding her head. "Next up is Komori."
The shy brown-haired girl stepped forward, twiddling he fingers. "M-my quirk i-is called {Mushroom}, I'm able to r-release a cloud of spores that will e-eventually turn into mushrooms, t-though they'll disappear a-after a few hours."
She didn't give a demonstration, and no one bugged her about it. It was clear she was having a hard time with the public speaking, so no one was going to push her if she wasn't ready.
"A unique quirk to say the least, it could be handy in relief situations when you need to provide food for the injured or sick during a disaster." Vlad gave another suggestion for quirk use, Komori taking the advice to heart. "Next is Shiozaki."
The vine haired girl walked up with her hands once again positioned as if she were taking a prayer and her eyes closed. When she turned around, she opened her eyes but kept her hands clasped together.
"My gift that I have been given is called {Vines}. I can control the vines on my head and extend them to great lengths." She gave a demonstration, extending the vines on her head to grab on of the dummies and lifting it off the ground and moving it around before placing it back on the ground.
"I see, a versatile quirk. Great for offence and defence. Shishida, you're next." The fur covered man walked forward with a straight posture. When he reached position, he turned to the group and did a quick bow.
"My name is Jurota Shishida and my quirk is called {Beast}. My quirk allows me to take on another form that gives me enhanced strength and senses, though it causes me to lose some intellectual prowess." He didn't give a demonstration, deciding to save that for later.
"I see, you'll be a force to be reckoned with in the future. Shoda, come on up." Vlad called up the next group member. The small chubby boy walked forward towards one of the targets before punching it then turning back to the group.
"My quirk is called {Twin Impact}, after I strike somewhere on an object I can say 'Fire'," The dummy behind him was pushed back by a force in the same spot that he struck the target. "And another impact will occur that is several times stronger than the original impact."
"That could be useful for setting up traps or surprising your opponents, make sure you train your body to make the most of your quirk as well." Vlad gave more advice, Shoda nodding his head. "Tsunotori, your turn."
The exchange student stepped up after a bit, probably trying to translate what Vlad said in her head.
"My quirk is called {Horn Cannon}, it lets me shoot my horns and control them." Her Japanese was a bit broken but we were able to understand what she said. She even gave a demonstration, flying her horns around the room a bit.
"Mobility and attack, good quirk. Increase you control and you can probably control more of those. Next up is Tsuburaba." The boy with the large pupils walked up to the front of the group before taking a deep breath and breathing out.
There was no visible change, but when he walked up and knocked on the air a noise could be heard as if someone was knocking on glass. "My quirk is called {Solid Air}. I can create some walls or platforms out of the air I breath."
"I'm not sure how well you can control this but you might be able to eventually create a prison out of air using your quirk. Make sure to work hard. Next up is Tetsutetsu." The excitable teen walked up with his fists pumping and his smile displaying his sharp teeth.
"Names Tetsutetsu, my quirk is called {Steel}. I can harden my entire body to a steel-like substance making it virtually impenetrable. It also increases my strength as well." He grinned wider and turned to face on of the dummies before reeling his fist back, activated his quirk and punching with all his might.
The dummy was sent flying, not to the same distance as what Kendo sent the dummy, but still a respectable distance. "Impressive, you will be a valuable hero, offence and defence. Make sure you continue training things like martial arts though to increase your close quarter combat experience. Tokage, step up."
A girl with green hair and a grin walked forward. "Hey, my quirk is called {Lizard Tail Splitter} and it lets me split my body into pieces that can then float. If they get destroyed, they're recovered after a while as well." She activated her quirk and separated her hand from her body and floating it over to Komori to ruffle her hair.
"Very good, Fukidashi, your turn." The boy with the speech bubble head walked forward and turned to the group.
"I would love to show off my quirk, it's really cool and will make you go like 'woah' when you see the 'booms' I can make, but it's too destructive to be used here. Oh right, it's called {Comic} and it lets me create effects based on what onomatopoeia I say."
"Another versatile quirk, but you'll need to be careful of when you say your words then. Next is Honenuki." The boy with no lips walked forward and turned back to the group.
"My quirk is called {Softening}, it lets me soften anything that I touch, including the floor." He touched the floor with his hands and the ground darkened slightly. He moved one of the dummies over before letting it sink a bit into the floor before pulling it out.
He touched the dark ground again to harden the floor again. "I can also swim through the ground if it's softened."
"Good for mobility, defence and trapping enemies. Next is Bondo." The boy with the glue dispenser head stepped up, rubbing his arms a bit as he did so.
"M-my quirk is c-called {Cemedine}, I can s-shoot glue from the h-holes from my face to trap people." He didn't use his quirk, and with his stuttering, just like Komori, no one forced him to.
"Good, next up is Rin." The black-haired boy walked toward the front of the group, doing a quick bow as he introduced himself.
"My name is Hiryu Rin and my quirk is called {Scales}." He lifted his arm and it was covered in green scales. "It allows me to cover my body in scales which I can then shoot to attack enemies. They are also resistant to some damage."
"I see, a medium and close-range quirk, you'll be versatile if you train it right. I look forward to seeing what you do with it." Rin did a quick bow before moving back to the group. "Yanagi, your turn."
The last girl of the class walked up to the front and turned to face us. She still had her arms out in front of her with her hands hanging loosely from her arms. "My quirk is known as {Poltergeist}. With this quirk I am able to lift multiple objects with a total weight that of an average human." She activated her quirk, a purple glow covering one of the dummies before it was lifted off the ground.
"A useful quirk for something like rescue, though you'll have to work on increasing the amount of weight you can carry." Yanagi nodded her head before walking back. "Finally, Clay. Show us your quirk."
I stepped out from the crowd, some of the students began whispering to each other, theorizing what my quirk was going to be. I just smiled, ready to show them that they would know nothing about my quirk.
"Alright, for those of you wondering how I got first in the entrance exam…" Some of the class leaned in closer, eager to hear about how I did it. "I'm not going to show you." The all slouched out of disappointment after I said that.
"But I will give some examples of it. My quirk is called {Dueling Spirits} and it lets me summon monsters and use spells based on cards that my body produces." I activated my quirk, my arm changing shape to that of a blade with slots and the black hole appearing in my arm.
I drew my first five cards and in it was a creature that I could show without breaking the gym. "I summon [Kuriboh]." I placed the card onto the blade and in front of me appeared a brown fluff ball with green clawed feet and hands.
"AWWW!" Most of the girls in the class swooned after seeing the cute monster, not that I blamed them. Kuriboh looked around the room and floated over to the group, making noises and snuggling up to some of the girls.
"My quirk also lets me take on some characteristics of the monsters my cards depict." I continued with my explanation activating the second part of my quirk to take on the characteristics of [Blue-Eyes White Dragon] like its wings, tail and scales.
"WOAH!" The guys of the class spoke out this time, excited over my cool transformation. I demonstrated that I could fly around, use my tail to grab things, mentioned I could breathe lightning but didn't demonstrate it.
"And finally, I can challenge other people to a duel with my quirk." The class looked confused at this part of my quirk, so I turned to Vlad to ask a question. "Vlad sensei, is it okay if I use the rest of the class to demonstrate this part of my quirk?"
"I don't see why not; we are here to understand how our quirks work so this should be fine." With his approval I went ahead and turned back to the class.
"Alright, I need a volunteer." Tetsutetsu was the first to raise his hand, so I chose him. "Alright, I'm going to challenge you to a duel, all you need to do is say 'I accept your challenge' and my quirk will do the rest."
"No problem. I'm so pumped to fight you." He had a huge grin, but I was sure that he would be gaping by the end of the day.
"Tetsutetsu, I challenge you to a duel!" I held out my bladed arm and it glowed a yellow color.
"I accept your challenge!" After finishing answering the yellow glow from my arm became a beam that connected to his chest before connecting to my chest as well. Then, something that no one was expecting to happen happened.
Tetsutetsu's left arm became bladed with the five visible slots and the five under slots with a black hole appearing in his arm as well. He was understandably freaked out when such a thing happened, but he calmed down eventually so I could explain what was about to happen.
"Alright, I would advise everyone else to move to a side of the building, these duels can get a bit out of hand." The others moved away to the sides, and I nodded my head. "My quirk just allowed you access to cards that are the same kind as the ones I use for my quirk. With them, we're going to play a card game, the winner is the first to get their opponents Lifepoints to 0."
"Wait, but I don't know how to play!" Tetsutetsu called out with frustration.
"Don't worry, my quirk gives you instinctual knowledge on how the game is played and what your cards do. I'll go easy on you since this is your first duel." I reassured him but he shook his head.
"No way, I want to see just what this is all about and no way am I going to let you go easy on me." He spoke with resolve so who was I to deny him his wishes.
"Alright then, lets duel!"
