The next day our class did the trial of combat reviews that All Might told us about yesterday, Vlad being critical in his evaluation of our performances. He mentioned that I should've summoned some monsters since that wasn't in the restrictions that All Might put on me, but I argued that it would've defeated the purpose of the exercise if I did that. The other students also supported my opinion, not wanting to come face to face with any of my summons apart from the cute ones.
Speaking of cute summons, I asked Vlad if I would be able to have my summons out while we were in class, and he said as long as they weren't disrupting the class or distracting the others then it was fine. Though he said that during tests I wouldn't be able to have them out which I was fine with. I decided to change things up today, this time having Fluffal Cat, Watapon, Outstanding Dog Marron and Cockadoodledoo out. I also had Decoy Dragon out to hopefully work on his social anxiety, but progress was slow, as in non-existent.
Marron was sitting next to Tsunotori, the girl petting the dogs head like the good boy he was. Fluffal Cat had decided to take residence on Yanagi's desk, causing the girl to stroke the felines soft, blue fur. Cockadoodledoo was sitting on top of Awase's head, making a nest out of his spikey hair while Watapon was sitting on the podium at the front of the room for all to see. Decoy Dragon was still hiding behind me, fearful of the other students in the class.
"You all did well in the combat trial yesterday, with that exercise and the reviews that you conducted with All Might you should have an understanding of who among you is fit to be a leader." Vlad spoke and we all looked confused at what he was saying. "So today we will be deciding who your class representatives are."
The entire class besides me, Kodai, Yanagi and Kamakiri raised their hands in excitement. I was fine without being the class representative, it sounded like a bunch of work for not much reward. The others were just either too stoic in their personalities or just didn't care about the position either.
"PIPE DOWN YOU LOT!" Vlad shouted over the top of our voices, causing all of the rowdy students to sit back in their seats. "I've already picked the representatives for class 1-B, though they are welcome to refuse the positions if they wish. Will Clay and Kendo please come up to the front." The other students all nodded their heads at Vlad's choice, happy with the selection of me and Kendo.
I walked my way to the front with Kendo by my side, the orange haired girl smiling at me. I smiled back, though I was sighing inside.
"Clay will be your class representative while Kendo will be his vice. Are there any objections to my choices?" Vlad asked the class though no one bothered to raise their hands. I guess I can be the class representative if they want me to be. "Alright then, Clay and Kendo, you can make your address to the class but make it quick."
I nodded my head before stepping forth to the podium, placing my hand on the sleeping Watapon and petting the pink furball. "Uh, well I guess I'm the class representative. I promise to do my best to make sure you all are prepared for the future in your hero course and to listen to your needs." I did a quick bow before stepping back and letting Kendo take the stand.
"Thank you all for putting your trust in me, I'll endeavour to work with Clay to make sure your hero course experience is one you won't forget." Kendo also did a quick bow, and the class began clapping for us. We took our seats once again and Vlad continued talking about a few things over before the rest of our normal lessons started.
Present Mic walked into the class and started our English lessons, something that Tsunotori and, much to our surprise, Honenuki excelled at. This caused Tsunotori to start crying tears of happiness that she had someone she could talk to in her native language.
During the class, the hero asked me questions about my summons, asking if they were real creatures, to which I answered yes. He seemed fine with them as well, letting Watapon stay seated on the podium while he taught the class. Eventually he had to take his leave, English class was over, and it was time for our next lesson.
After Present Mic left the room Ectoplasm walked into the room for our math lessons, something that none of us were looking forward to. He too questioned me about my summons, making sure they were tame and wouldn't attack any of the students. Unfortunately for Watapon, the cloning hero moved the furball off of the podium and onto the desk of Tsuburaba, though when the hero's back was turned Watapon took its place back on the podium.
This continued for most of the class, Watapon being moved from the podium only for it to move back when Ectoplasm wasn't looking. The class thought it was funny seeing the little pink monster ignore the teachers attempts, snickering when the teacher wasn't looking.
Finally, the bell rang for lunch and the class all shot up from their seats. The monsters would be coming with us, though we made sure they stayed close to our group in the cafeteria. Class B stayed together, joining tables together to make sure there was enough room for everyone. We also went up in groups to grab our food, four going at a time to make sure we still had plenty of people to look after the tables we sat at.
Me, Kendo, Kodai and Yanagi were the last group to go up to grab our food, standing in line with Fuffal Cat and Decoy Dragon in our arms. Decoy Dragon was sort of panicking, looking around it as a bunch of people from other departments looked at it causing its anxiety to flare up. I held the dragon closer to me, reassuring it that nothing was going to happen and that it had nothing to fear, though it continued to shiver in terror.
"Decoy, do you want me to unsummon you?" I sighed; this was just too many people for the little dragon but it was worth a shot. Decoy nodded his head furiously and I obliged, unsummoning the little monster and leaving my arms empty.
"You would think for a dragon he wouldn't be that nervous." Kendo spoke out in pity seeing my friend in terror like that.
"Decoy is a bit skittish; because of his ability, he requires someone to attack him and since he is on the weaker side of monsters that freaks him out." I explained why he was like that, getting nods from the girls in understanding.
"If I might inquire, what is the effect of your dragon that causes it to need an attack from another monster?" Yanagi questioned and I didn't need Kodai to translate for me.
"When Decoy's attacked, he's able to summon another dragon monster that is level 7 or higher from the graveyard. Some people might think that doesn't sound impressive, but those people are idiots. The monster doesn't need to come from the main deck, so I could send [Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon] to the graveyard and summon it for free." I activated my quirk to grab the card I was talking about, a fusion between three Blue-Eyes, and showed it to the girls.
Kendo grabbed the card and her eyes nearly burst out of her socket seeing the amount of attack points the monster had. That combined with Decoy's ability, this thing was too easy to summon out.
"This has to be the strongest monster you own right?" I get why she would think that, but I didn't answer and just smirked at the girl. "You can't be serious, there's a stronger monster?"
"I will neither confirm nor deny the existence of a stronger monster, though I will confirm that a variant of the monster you hold in your hand is what allowed me to get first in the entrance exam." I didn't bother explaining how the monster helped me in the exam, letting them come to their own conclusions.
We continued waiting in line to grab our food, Fluffal Cat just chilling in Yanagi's arms without a care in the world while the rest of us made small talk. We would occasionally get glances from the other students for having a cat at school, but no one commented on it… until someone did.
"What in the blazes do you think you are doing with a cat at school?" Someone questioned Yanagi from the side as he walked up to us, blue hair, glasses and, for some reason, really straight hands. Yanagi looked at the boy with the rest of us, I moved to be in between the two to make sure nothing happened to my classmate.
"Calm down, we've been given permission from the teachers that it's fine." I tried to diffuse the situation, but the guy just continued rambling on.
"This is a violation of the student bodies health and safety, what if someone here has cat allergies? What if this creature decides to defecate on another student? Who will take responsibility for the creature? Animals should never be allowed in a school environment; they are a distraction to everyone here." He continued rambling, going off on a tangent that he didn't notice me looking behind him at the two people he was with.
I saw the green haired kid who was scared of Kuriboh yesterday though he was busy shaking to notice my gaze on him. Next to him was a girl who had a similar hair style to Komori, though this girl's hair was shorter, and you could actually see her face. She had a blush on her cheek for whatever reason and was giggling at the boy lecturing me and Yanagi.
Even after a minute of the guy lecturing, he continued, I eventually grew tired of the guy and had enough. I decided to summon a monster that was threatening though still weak, something that would be able to scare the guy and make him back off though wouldn't be able to hurt him.
From behind the boy stood a robotic being, short in stature, not even reaching halfway to his back, but holding a sword that looked to be made of plasma. The monster's body was blue with some black and white highlights and orange eyes that glowed, two white spikes coming from the back of his head. This monster was [Micro Coder], a level 1 monster with 300 Atk and 0 Def.
Nobody noticed the little monster until the guy jumped onto the boys back and held his sword to his neck. The boy stopped talking and the two that were with him had stopped giggling, now running up to help their friend.
"Listen, we've been here a minute and we've already told you that we've been given permission from the teachers to have Fluffal Cat here. No one was complaining about the cat, and if they had I would've agreed to do something with it, but you just came over here and decided to antagonize us even after we explained ourselves. Now I'm trying to be a hero, but sometimes accidents do happen, so don't make yourself one of them and walk away." I tried to be as threatening as possible, and it seemed to work as the guy swallowed before nodding his head and silently walking away with his friends after Micro coder hopped off his back.
The cafeteria had gone quiet after that exchange, though after I unsummoned Micro Coder, everything went back to the way it was. I turned back to the girls, and they seemed amazed and worried that I did that. Kendo was wide eyed at the fact I had threatened someone, Yanagi was smiling that I had stood between her and the guy while Kodai was as stoic as ever.
"Clay, what the hell was that?!" Kendo was the first to get over the shock of what happened and the first to make a scene. "You could get expelled for that!"
I just chuckled at her reaction and shrugged my shoulders. "Don't worry, Micro Coder isn't able to hurt anyone here. He's actually as strong as Kuriboh so there's no harm in letting him out." I showed the group Kuriboh's card and Micro Coder's card side by side to show that they had the same Atk stat, getting a sigh from my Vice.
"Still, you shouldn't threaten people like that, though he was really rude for just coming up and lecturing us about animals at school. He does know that our principal is an animal as well, right?" We continued waiting in line for our food, forgetting about the incident after a while and moving to sit with our friends.
The food was fantastic, Lunch Rush was such a good cook that I nearly had tears in my eyes. I had decided to order a burger with fries for my lunch, getting a thumbs up from Tsunotori who had also gotten herself a burger. Our entire class chatted and laughed as time went on until Tetsutetsu asked a question that everyone wanted to know the answer to.
"Hey man, why don't you have a second name?" I realized this question was going to come up eventually, but I was completely fine with answering.
"Well, I was actually an orphan for a while." The others were shocked about my past, but I continued anyway. "After I was adopted, I asked if I could just not keep their last name to remind myself of where I came from." I wasn't going to tell anyone this, but I was also adopted by my monsters, [Elemental Hero Avian] and [Elemental Hero Burstinatrix] posed as my parents and as pro heroes in today's society. They had managed to make it into the top 50 of pro's so I was pretty excited for them.
"I see, that is an admirable trait, Sir Clay. I shall endeavour to be like you and your resolve in the future." Shishida held his hand to his chest as he made his pledge, others nodding their heads as well at his words.
"That's so… so manly!" Tetsu on the other hand was just crying tears of manliness after hearing my story, something that made us all chuckle. The monsters that were summoned were chilling with us, Watapon on the table as if he owned it, Marron sitting at Tsunotori's side as she petted him and Cockadoodledoo still in Awase's hair.
The class chatted amongst ourselves, happy to be chilling with people like them and to have the cute monsters by their sides. I was glad that my classmates were enjoying having the monsters as company, if they hadn't that would've been a problem. A few minutes had gone by, and we were all enjoying ourselves… until someone decided to ruin it.
From across the room, I could hear some popping noises that seemed to be getting closer. I paid it no mind, thinking that it was just someone who was walking by using their quirk, though when some of my classmates looked at something behind me, I also started paying more attention to the noise.
With no warning a hand slammed into our table, creating a cloud of smoke from the palm that caused some of us to wrinkle our noses at the smell. I turned to look at who the hand belonged to, and it turned out it was an ash blond haired boy with red eyes and a scowl on his face.
"Which one of you extras is Clay?" He basically shouted his question at us, confusing the heck out of everyone because we had never met this person in our lives. Eventually I stood up and faced the boy with my arms crossed.
"What do you want, we're trying to eat lunch here." I didn't want to have another disruption, first it was the guy who lectured us on Fluffal Cat and now someone with a probably some anger issues.
"Listen here you bastard, just because you got 1st in the entrance exam doesn't mean you're better than me, you got that!" He walked up to me and held my collar in his hands, his quirk activating and burning the cloth of my uniform.
"Let go of me." I didn't bother gracing his previous statement with an answer, but I was not going to let someone grab me and destroy my uniform and get away with it. I gripped his wrists in my hands and squeezed, forcing him to let go of my uniform and to back away.
"Don't look down on me you bastard, I'll kill you!" He decided to charge at me and activate his quirk, creating an explosion that hit me and sent my flying back. I was able to activate my quirk in time and transformed into my Blue-Eyes form, creating scales that protected me from the force of the explosion and the impact of hitting the ground.
My classmates stood up as well, some rushing over to me to help me up while others got in the way of Explodey-Explode Face. I stood up with the help of my classmates, and moved to the group that was separating me and Boomie. He was still using his quirk, creating sparks from his hands, though when he noticed I was walking up he smirked and raised his hands in my direction, completely ignoring the people in his way before activating his quirk.
I widened my eyes and rushed to get in front of my classmates, spreading my wings to protect them from the blast and taking the brunt of it myself. It didn't hurt me too bad, my scales protecting me from any damage, though my insides were a bit shaken up.
At this point other students were looking at what was happening in our area of the cafeteria, though they were either too stunned to do anything or figured a teacher would handle it. Unfortunately, before a teacher could arrive, an alarm went off in the building that spurred the rest of the student body into action.
"WARNING. LEVEL THREE SECURITY BREACH. ALL STUDENTS PLEASE EVACUATE THE BUILDING IN AN ORDERLY FASHION." The student body all went into a panic, rushing to get out of the cafeteria and into the supposed safety. My class though stayed behind, making sure that I was okay from taking those explosions.
"Clay, are you hurt?" Kendo was by my side, inspecting me over for any damage that Boomie may have done to me. I shook my head at her question, getting the girl to sigh in relief.
The others also stood next to me, Kodai and Yanagi by Kendo's side as they inspected my body for any damage, Tetsutetsu, Awase and Tsuburaba as they complained about how uncool it was for him to attack like that, and Komori with Bondo and Tsunotori thanking me for protecting them. The others had all stood up, but they hadn't run out of the room because they too were worried about me and Boomie and were looking after my summons.
"We should all leave, whatever is happening could be a problem." Everyone nodded their heads, and all walked in a calm yet ready pace in case there was any danger. "Hey Tokage, can you send one of your eyes to check what is happening outside." The girl nodded her head and activated her quirk, splitting her eye from her body and floated it away.
We had arrived at the exit of the cafeteria but there was no way we were going to be able to make it through this. Everyone had mobbed together and decided that they were the most important person in the world, so instead of being an organized evacuation it was every man for themselves. People had fallen down and were now being trampled upon, others were shoving people into the walls and windows, trapping them.
"Prez, it's just the media! The media's the one that managed to break in!" Tokage reported what she found out, making me nod my head and start thinking up a plan. If this continued more people were going to get hurt.
"Alright, everyone cover your ears." I waited for them to do that before taking a deep breath in. I was still in my Blue-Eyes form, so I had my dragon qualities, that included a freaking roar.
*ROAR*
My roar was so loud that everyone instantly stopped moving, scared that they were going to be attacked. I flapped my wings to make sure I could be seen over the crowd before making my announcement.
"Everyone, calm down, it's just the media that has broken onto campus. You're at UA so act like it, everyone evacuate in an orderly manner." People looked out the windows to verify my claims and when they did indeed see it was just the media, they all calmed down.
I landed once again and turned to my classmates, instructing them to gather anyone who was injured during the panic. They didn't fully understand why but they did so anyway, trusting I had my reasons. When they were all gathered together, I saw that there was 3 injuries, 1 girl and 2 boys.
The girl was bleeding from the head, probably slammed into the floor and couldn't get up once again. The first boy had a broken arm, slammed into one of the pillars by the windows arm first and broke it. The second boy had a black eye, hit in the face with an elbow.
"Alright, I can deal with the boys, but I don't know if what I have can work on the girl. We need to get Recovery Girl, bring her here and make sure you tell her its urgent." Kuroiro nodded his head, fusing into the shadows to make his way to Recovery Girl's office as he was the fastest.
"What do you have? Do you have a summon to help?" Kendo leaned down to inspect the boys broken bone, making sure that he was comfortable and that he wasn't making it worse.
"Sort of." I pulled out two cards and activated them, transforming into two bottles of blue and red liquid. I handed the red liquid to Kendo and had her give the boy the drink while I let the boy with a black eye drink the blue liquid himself.
It took a minute to kick in, but when it did the results were nearly instant. The black eye that had formed on the boy's face reverted to its natural skin colour and the bump that had formed deflated and returned to normal. The boy's broken bone straightened out, causing the boy to seethe in pain, and the bone rebuilt itself.
At this point Kuroiro had returned with Recovery Girl, the little granny making her way over to our group that was surrounding the injured. She moved instantly to the girl, checking the girl's injury to make sure it wasn't anything life threatening. She sighed in what we assumed was relief because she nodded to herself then proceeded to kiss the girl, activating her quirk and healing her.
"Now, what's the problem with you two?" She pointed to the two boys that had already been healed, thinking that there may be an injury that she couldn't see. I stepped up to answer for them, it was my potion that fixed them after all.
"They don't have any injuries anymore, or at least they shouldn't. Can you give them a check up to make sure there are no remaining damages?" Recovery girl nodded her head and checked the two of them, prodding the areas where their injuries were previously and determining that there were no lasting injuries.
"You two can go now." The two boys thanked Recovery Girl and left the area. The heroine then turned to me, with a sceptical gaze. "You, what did you do to those two? I know you don't have a healing quirk; you have the summoning quirk."
"I can summon some liquids that can heal people to certain degrees. I wasn't sure if the girl's injury were serious or not so I let you handle it, but the other two I could deal with using my quirk." I summoned the two liquids again from some more cards that I always carry with me. I modified the pants that the school gave us to include some pockets like cargo pants and I filled them with healing cards like [Red Medicine], [Blue Medicine] and [Goblin's Secret Remedy]. I also had a couple [Dian Keto The Cure Master] but I only brought those out for emergencies.
Recovery Girl brought the two liquids to her nostrils and sniffed them, getting a surprise as they didn't smell anything like medicine. In fact, they smelled like soda.
"If what you're saying is true then I might need to bother you from time to time for some of this." I nodded my head and agreed instantly, why wouldn't I help out the school nurse?
"Sure thing, you can keep those for something like a trial run, just to make sure they're safe for everyone to use. Also, they should have an indefinite shelf life, so you don't need to worry about that." I felt like I was doing a commercial, maybe I should throw in a [Goblin's Secret Remedy] as well?
"Alright then sonny, if I need more, I tell you. Just remember to leave the healing to a professional from now on." With a nod from my head, my classmates walked out of the area. I told Recovery Girl about the Boomie incident before the alarm went off and asked if she could bring it up to Vlad when she saw him next.
After getting a nod I walked away, the school day had been ended early because of the break in so everyone was ready to leave. I got changed into my PE outfit first though, having ripped my regular outfit when I transformed into my Blue-Eyes form.
