Multiple portals opened up around the USJ, dropping the students from class 1-B into the clutches of villains spread around to deal with them. Before Clay had sent his Hero's to help the others they had to survive on their own.
In the ruins zone, Shishida, Bondo and Kendo fell from the sky, Bondo falling onto a building while Shishida and Kendo fell to the street below. Kendo cushioned her fall using by enlarging her fists and Shishida used his quirk to dig his claws into a building and slide down to the ground.
"Lady Kendo, are you injured?" Shishida rushed to Kendo's side after reverting to his normal form, standing the vice rep us as she groaned in pain.
"I'm fine, but I'd rather not fall like that again." She dusted herself off, brushing her hair aside after it was messed up from the fall. "Were we the only ones that made it here?"
"Sir Bondo arrived with us, though he landed on top of a building." Shishida pointed to a building close by with Bondo standing on the rooftop waving them down. "We should regroup with him and make our way back to the entrance." Kendo nodded her head and followed Shishida into the building and to the staircase leading up.
Bondo made his way down the stairs as well to meet them in the middle, though on the way down he was ambushed by some villains. The villains had arrived beforehand, being teleported in before hand to wait for any potential victims. They waited in multiple buildings for anyone that would enter their buildings, and it just so happened that they were lucky enough to encounter a target.
As Bondo yelled for help after being attacked from behind, Shishida's ear twitched and he hastened his steps, Kendo hesitating for a moment before also rushing after the beast boy. They were a few floors down, so it took a minute for the two to reach where Bondo was, but when they did they saw that he was backed into a wall with globs of glue covering some of the villains, though it wasn't slowing them down.
One villain was walking forward with his arm morphed into a blade, dragging it along the floor as he savoured the sight of the cowering form of Bondo. Another was aiming his palm at the boy, a hole in the palm that allowed one to see bone. The others stood back, waiting for orders or for something interesting to happen.
"Get away from him!" Shishida roared as he transformed into his beast form, knocking aside one of the villains standing by and slamming him into a wall. Another villain charged forward, sparks of electricity coming off his hands, though they never touched Shishida as the boy jumped over the villain and kicked him away from the others.
Kendo didn't stand by idly either, she rushed forward after Shishida towards the other side of the room where the villains were less shocked and had begun moving forward. With a thrust of her fist and activating her quirk, Kendo knocked two villains against the wall creating spiderweb cracks in the concrete.
Shishida continued his rampage, knocking aside any villains that stood in front of him while jumping over those who he deemed a threat. Kendo used her martial prowess to take down multiple villains at the same time and avoiding any significant injury.
As the blade arm villain registered what was happening, he quickly rushed forward and grabbed Bondo by the shirt, dragging him to his feet before placing his arm against the boy's neck. The bone palm villain decided to hide from the duo, afraid at the power the two had and hoping that he would be able to strike them from behind when the opportunity showed itself.
As the final villain fell by Kendo's hand, the two turned to Bondo and the blade villain, freezing as they saw what was happening. Bondo had his hands up in front of him, showing that he wasn't a threat and hoping that the villain wouldn't slice his throat.
"Don't move or I slit his throat." The villain left no room for argument, causing Kendo and Shishida to also raise their hands to show they weren't going to try anything. "Now back up, no getting too close now." The heroes in training did as they were told, taking steps back until they were by the door they entered through.
The villain took a moment to inspect the two starting with Shishida. He was a big boy, muscular but covered in brown fur from head to toe. His costume consisted of a pair of black pants, no shirt and a pair of shades covering his eyes. He was certain that his blade could pierce his skin, but he didn't think he could match his speed or strength.
He then turned his attention to Kendo, eyeing her up and down to take in all her features. Kendo was wearing a turquoise knee-length qipao with a corset ending just under her chest. Her qipao also had two slits that went up her thigh, revealing black sport shorts. She wore a brown utility belt around her waist with a white satchel at the back, filled with first aid tools, and a black domino mask.
There was a glint in the villain's eyes as he licked his lips, Kendo felt a shiver down her spine as she had a bad feeling.
"Tell you what, I'll let this kid go but girlie over there has to come with me." The villain didn't even try to hide his perverted attitude, chuckling to himself as he offered a deal. "After all, heroes are meant to do everything in their power to save someone, right?"
"You disgusting swine, why the hell would we-" Shishida roared with fury at the clear attempt on Kendo, though was cut off when the girl held her arm out with her head down.
"No, he's right, heroes should do everything in their power to save someone." She walked forward with her head down, Shishida to shocked to do anything to stop her as Bondo struggled in the villain's grasp.
"Don't do it Kendo, just get out of here with Shishida!" He tried grabbing at the villain's arm though he grabbed the blade and cut his palm. The pain caused him to stop struggling for long enough for the villain to throw him aside, grab Kendo and drag her to a doorway that led to a different part of the building.
The villain threw Kendo into the room, slammed the door shut and toppled a bookshelf in front of the door to stop anyone from walking in and turned back to the girl on the floor. Kendo backed herself up against a wall, a window above her position. The villain walked forward, leering at the girl and licking his lips, unbuckling his belt slowly as he got closer.
There was fear in Kendo's eyes, she had only just entered her dream school and already she was being attacked by villains. Then they were separated, being attacked by more villains and now about to be violated to protect one of her classmates. She wasn't prepared for this, she didn't want this, but if it saved one of her friends, she would gladly go through this a million times.
As the villain reached his hand out to grab her, a bright light came through the window above Kendo. The villain stopped reaching and instead searched for what could make that light, finding a ball of light that was growing brighter as it came closer. The villain backed away, forgetting about the girl in front of him and falling to the floor in fright.
Breaking through the window came 8 gold floating obelisks, hitting the clothes of the villain and pinning him to the wall of the room far away from Kendo. Following the 8 obelisks came a man in pristine white armour with yellow trim and red orbs embedded in the shoulder plates, ribs and naval region. He had a golden metallic halo on his back and the being emitted a warm light that washed over Kendo and filled her with hope.
"Villain, you have been deemed a threat to society and will therefore be placed into containment until you atone for your sins." The hero spoke in a reverent voice, crossing his arms on his chest as he delivered a verdict on the villain. A moment later and the door was bashed down by a beast form empowered Shishida followed by the large form of Bondo.
Shishida paid no mind to the new arrival, looking around the room for the villain and finding him pinned to the wall. With a roar, Shishida charged at the villain and ripped him from the wall, slamming him into the ground repeatedly as he continued to roar in his face. Punches met the villains face and ribs were cracked.
Bondo moved over to Kendo who was still huddled by the wall, enraptured by the form of the new hero. When Bondo placed his hand on her shoulder, she finally recognized his presence and the presence of Shishida pummelling the villain to a pulp.
"Shishida! Shishida, stop!" Kendo called out to her classmate, hoping to snap him out of his rage driven fury. If he continued, he was likely to kill the villain and end his hero career before it even started. All because she let this villain nearly have his way with her.
No amount of shouting was enough to snap Shishida out of his rage, he was driven by the pure desire to protect and punish. He didn't care about the punishment, he just wanted justice for what Kendo nearly had to go through.
Another 10 seconds passed, and Kendo continued to call for Shishida and the beast continued to attack the villain. The hero finally made a move, approaching the boy before waving a hand above his head with a warm yellow light. A moment later and Shishida had slowed down, eventually coming to a stop and reverting to his natural form, huffing and panting in exhaustion.
The hero then waved his hand over the beaten body of the villain, the same yellow glow emitting from his hand but at a lesser intensity. The hero turned his head back to Kendo and Bondo, both confused by his actions.
"From what I understand in this world, it is considered a crime to inflict harm on another without the proper licenses. I was told to protect you and your classmates, and that includes from the law of your world." Kendo nodded her head, happy that someone was willing to help them to this extent.
"Thank you." She wiped some tears from her eyes, standing up once again and walking over to Shishida to walk him away from the villain.
"Of course, I will heal any and all lethal damage dealt to villains to protect you, no matter the cause of said injury." There was an underlying message from the hero, one that Bondo seemed to miss but Kendo picked up on.
Laying Shishida against the wall to let him rest, Kendo stood straight and returned to the side of the villain. The villain saw the girl approaching and reached out to her, as if she would save him. Instead, she slapped his hand aside before cracking her knuckles.
The hero on the side noticed some movement in the corner of his vision. He controlled his 8 obelisks to attack the entity, pinning the Bone Palm villain to a wall in the other room. The hero then turned to look the villain in the eye and held a finger up to where his mouth should be.
Above the water of the shipwreck zone, a black hole appeared from which three figures fell from the sky. Tsuburaba, Shiozaki and Kaibara had been teleported together, scared out of their minds right now as they fell towards to water.
"Tsuburaba! Make a slide with your quirk to the boat!" Kaibara called out over the rushing wind. The mist villain said something about them having comrades so there were sure to be villains in the area, since this was a water zone, they were probably in the water.
Tsuburaba did as he was told, breathing in before exhaling beneath the three of them and toward the boat. There was a bit of a drop as they hit the deck but compared to being mauled by the shark looking villain who had popped his head above the surface, they wouldn't complain.
"Good… call… Kaibara…" Tsuburaba took deep breaths after having exhaled so much air in one go. He didn't normally exhale that much air when using his quirk, but the situation was dire, so he had no choice in the matter.
"Shiozaki, you alright?" Kaibara helped the vine haired girl to her feet dusting himself off as well.
"I am quite alright Kaibara, thank you for your concern." Shiozaki bowed to Kaibara before looking around at her surroundings. "It appears that we are still within the USJ, in the shipwreck zone if I had to take a guess."
Kaibara nodded his head, agreeing with her statement. "We need to somehow get out of here and back to the entrance. If that guy warped us all away, then Thirteen is in dire need of help with their injury."
Tsuburaba had stood up, leaning on the rail of the boat over the water. He looked over and saw that instead of just the single shark headed villain they saw as they fell onto the boat, there was now an entire swarm surrounding the boat.
"Guys, there are villains surrounding the entire boat." Kaibara and Shiozaki walked over to see for themselves and when they did their eyes went wide. There were at least 10 villains on this side of the boat alone, who knew how many there were on the other sides.
"Damn, guess we aren't going to be able to swim across. Tsuburaba, think you can make a bridge to the shore?" Kaibara asked his classmate. They didn't have any other obvious way to get across, Kaibra's quirk being good for combat while Shiozaki's was good for capture.
"I won't be able to do it for a while. I could start but I'd have to stop halfway to catch my breath, and who knows what quirks these guys have. They'd probably knock us into the water before we made it to the other side." Tsuburaba shook is head in denial, explaining his worries.
Kaibara just placed a hand on his shoulder as he walked away from the edge of the boat. He needed to think of a way out of this with what he had. 'Maybe Shiozaki's vines could make it to the other side? No, we'd suffer from the same problem that Tsuburaba pointed out.'
'Could Shiozaki throw us and Tsuburaba make another slide like he did when we were falling? Maybe, but there's no guarantee that we'd make it to the other side. Think damn it, think!' Kaibara continued mulling over his options, trying to think of a way out of this predicament they found themselves in.
Before he had thought of a plan though, the sound of flowing water caught his attention. He looked up from his thinking position and saw a claw made out of water reared back and prepared to strike. He acted quickly, moved to the side of the boat and called out to Tsuburaba.
"Tsuburaba! Make a shield quick!" The boy did as he was told, make a thick shield of air with his quirk as Kaibara searched for the quirk that was causing this. He found what he was looking for, a villain moving his arm and the water following his movements.
As the villain brought the claw down it clashed with the solid air from Tsuburaba's quirk and stopped mid-swing. There were cracks in the air shield, though and it was obvious it wouldn't last long. Tsuburaba also couldn't make another shield, already being out of breath.
Kaibara tried to figure out something that would work when it came to him, maybe this villain could only control water he was touching. He didn't have much evidence that this was the case, but he hoped that he was right.
"Shiozaki, separate the claw from the water arm!" Shiozaki nodded her head and used her quirk to quicky grow vines from her head. She guided those vines over to the claw and the air shield, having her vines pierce through the wrist of the hand and slice the arm completely.
The claw of the arm fell back into the pool that was part of the shipwreck zone while the villain deactivated his quirk and held his arm and yelled in pain. Shiozaki's vine hair returned to its normal length, the girl clasping her hands in prayer.
Kaibara meanwhile sighed in relief, his theory was correct. Not only that but he was able to help his classmates coordinate their quirks and fight back. He didn't know how long they could hold out, but he hoped that it was long enough until the heroes could arrive and save them.
Unfortunately, the villains wouldn't let that happen. The same villain used his quirk once again with his other arm, creating a new claw where there was no air shield and not enough time to make one. Before Kaibara could call for Shiozaki to separate the claw once again, the claw was already swinging down onto the boat and ripping it in half.
With a hole that shouldn't be present, the boat that the heroes in training were on began to sink, getting ever closer to becoming victims of the villains. Kaibara called for Shiozaki to try and patch the hole with her vines, which she did, but there was still water leaking through and it was only a matter of time before the boat fully sank.
'No, I won't let something bad happen again! Think Sen, how can you get out of this!' Kaibara tried to think of a plan, anything that could stop the villains from winning, but he couldn't think of anything. His quirk wasn't useful in this situation, Tsuburaba was exhausted from using his quirk and Shiozaki was busy holding the boat together as best she could. There was nothing he could do.
Kaibara fell to his knees in defeat, thinking that he had failed once again to save someone, until the sound of rushing ice reached his ears. Kaibara looked over the edge of the boat and saw that the entire pool had been covered in a layer of ice, the villains being encased and trapped. The hole that was in the boat was also covered in ice, spikes extending past the top of the boat as if it were an iceberg.
"You know, it isn't cool to attack kids." A calm voice spoke from behind the villains. They weren't able to turn around to see who was speaking, but Kaibara was. It was someone he recognized from the first day of school, from the quirk demonstration that Clay did. "Maybe chill out for a while."
Absolute Zero chuckled at his own joke, completely calm about the situation at hand. Even when cracks started forming around one of the villains and the villain broke free the hero didn't panic. Instead, he held his palm out and unleashed a blizzard of cold air at the villain and encased him in a cube of ice.
"My ice won't kill you, but don't expect any warm responses from the other heroes." Absolute Zero walked past the villain, jumping up onto the boat and walking to Kaibara and holding his hand out. When Kaibara didn't take it, Zero slouched a bit and sighed. "Don't leave me hanging, that's just cold."
Kaibara shook his head then grabbed Zero's hand and shook it. The glove was cold and slippery as if it were an ice cube he was grabbing, but he didn't let go of it. "You're Absolute Zero, one of Clay's summons, aren't you?"
"Right you are, Clay sent me and a few friends to find you all and bring you to safety. We'll head to the entrance and regroup with anyone that's there." Zero responded and walked over to Tsuburaba, swirling his hand and creating an ice glass with some water in it. "Here, this should help."
Tsuburaba gladly took the glass and chugged the drink. A few moments after drinking he was back to full breath, clearly it wasn't just water that Zero had given him. Tsuburaba thanked Zero before Zero asked if there was anyone else with them.
"Shiozaki, she was trying to patch the hole before you came and froze it over." This caused Zero to panic a bit, he didn't think there was anyone there, so he just froze the hole fully. If Shiozaki was there, then she was probably encased in ice as well.
The hero rushed down to the hole, sighing in relief as he saw the girl still alive. Her feet were stuck in the ice as well as the vines that were attached to her head. She was shivering a bit from how cold the ice was, but still held her position of praying.
Zero ripped off his cape and wrapped it around the girl, striking at the ice around her feet and freeing her. He then cut her hair with the blades that were attached to his gauntlet, lifting the girl and carrying her in a princess carry. The hero never saw the blush that appeared on her face.
"Alright, let's get out of here."
Within the dome of the conflagration zone another back portal opened up and spat three more students into the fiery buildings below. Shoda, Komori and Kamakiri all fell down to the street, Shoda hitting a streetlamp in the process causing him to cry out in pain.
Kamakiri was the first person to recover, standing up and rubbing his arms to alleviate some of the pain from the fall. Komori followed after, slowly getting up and looking around her surroundings. Shoda was the last to get up, clutching his chest where he hit the streetlamp.
"That bastard separated us." Kamakiri scowled as he spoke, clearly dissatisfied with what had just occurred. He turned to the others with him before barking some orders. "Get up, we need to get back to the entrance so we can kill that misty villain."
Komori moved over to Shoda to check on his condition, his chest plate cracked where his ribs should be. Shoda was clutching his chest, breathing shallowly as if his rib was broken.
"I think Shoda broke his rib, he might not be able to move from here." Komori told Kamakiri who just huffed at the news. "I'm not going to leave him behind, who knows what the villains will do to him."
A moment later and some villains stepped out of the alleys between the buildings, some holding weapons such as bats or metal poles while others made use of their quirks to look intimidating. Kamakiri backed up to Komori and Shoda, Komori placing Shoda behind her to protect him.
"Damnit, I won't be able to fight this many people on my own." Although Kamakiri was arrogant and confident in his strength, he understood that there would be a limit to what he could do on his own. Facing a small group of villains, maybe 5-10 that was something he could do. 30-40 though, he was going to need some help.
"You… Won't have to." Shoda's shaky voice spoke out behind Kamakiri as the boy stood up, still clutching his ribs. Komori rushed to his side and tried to get him to back down, but he wasn't relenting. "If this is what it takes to bring down a hero, then I shouldn't have enrolled."
Komori finally gave up; it was clear the boy wasn't going to give up so she would do her best to make sure he was okay. Shoda also was sized up by Kamakiri, earning some respect from the mantis boy for his unyielding spirit.
"Alright short stuff, let's give these people hell." Kamakiri activated his quirk, sharp blades extending from his forearm and threatening the villains approaching him. One villain wielding a metal bat charged at the bug boy, rearing the weapon above his head and bringing it down. Kamakiri deflected the attack with his blade and punched the villain in the guts, causing him to stumble back and fall to his knees where Kamakiri kicked him in the face.
Shoda punched a villain in the stomach, backing away as fast as he could and moving to another. His ribs were slowing him down, but he was still dancing around the battlefield with grace like a violent ballerina. When he deemed that he had struck a sufficient number of villains he activated his quirk and knocked the air out of everyone he struck.
Komori did her best to stay out of the way of Shoda and Kamakiri, not being well versed in combat she elected to pick up a weapon that one of the villains dropped and attacked when she thought there was an opening. There were a few close calls but Komori managed to knock out a couple of the villains before they could attack Shoda and Kamakiri from behind.
The battle was waged for multiple minutes, the villains eventually getting back up after being knocked down and continuing to fight. More had also shown up from the alleys, adding to the number of fresh villains the students had to face.
The three were backed into a corner, surrounded by villains with no means to escape. With the murderous glares they were getting they were certain this would be their last days fighting to be a hero.
"You guys started the party without me!" A new voice spoke out from past the crowd of villains. Everyone turned to look in the direction the voice came from and were met with the gaze of a red suited hero with flaming hands and a billowing red cape. "But don't worry, I'm all fired up for this fight!"
The villains charged at the hero, not bothering to make a plan against the new arrival, while the hero decided to make use of his fire and create a wall of flames to keep the enemies at bay. Without the villains knowing, the hero jumped over the wall and behind the wave of enemies, attacking them from behind as they were still focused on going around it.
By the time all the villains that charged were down, more had started swarming the villain from behind in an attempt to catch him of guard. Instead, the hero's cape started waving and a stream of fire erupted from his back, torching the villains and bringing them to the ground screaming in agony.
The students seemed horrified at the sight of the villains screaming, there were no physical wounds on the villains at all. The fire washed over them without damaging their bodies, yet they started screaming as if they were thrown in lava.
"Come on, I need to get you guys to the entrance so I can join the fight in the plaza! Clay summoned a dragon, and I don't want it to show me up damnit!" The hero urged the students to hurry, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he warmed himself up for the fight.
"Wait, Shoda's been hurt, he needs help!" Komori rushed over to Shoda's side once again, wrapping one of his arms around her shoulder. Shoda continued to clutch his chest, sweating not only from the heat of the area but also from the amount of pain he was feeling.
Nova master did a sigh, slumping in defeat before making his way over to the boy. "Fine, I'll carry him to the entrance while you two make your way over there. Do not fight any enemies, I'll be back to make sure you're safe. Do I make myself clear?"
Komori nodded her head while Kamakiri just scoffed. "I don't take orders from you damnit!"
"Eh, 50% is still a pretty decent comprehension rate. Mushroom girl, keep him on a leash will you!" And without another word the hero was off, using his fire to fly out of the conflagration dome and towards the entrance staircase.
Within the dome of the downpour zone, the last black portal opened up and spat out Kodai, Honenuki and Tetsutetsu. The three fell down to the street beneath them, Honenuki softening the street to stop any injuries from occurring.
"Man, that was so uncool!" Tetsutetsu swam out of the goop and onto solid ground, complaining all the way. "We need to get back as quickly as possible, who knows what's happening to the rest of our classmates."
"I agree, but we might need to focus on ourselves right now." Honenuki helped Kodai out of the muck, pointing behind him where a group of villains were approaching their positions.
Kodai kept a calm and stoic face, though internally she was screaming in terror. This was their first week in UA and they were already being attacked by villains? They shouldn't have had to face real villains until their internships after the sports festival at least!
"Kodai, get behind us, your quirk isn't really helpful in this situation except for weapons. Try making some for us and attack if you see the opportunity, otherwise don't hesitate to back off." Tetsutetsu told Kodai who nodded in response.
From the pouch on her belt, she pulled out a small rod, using her quirk to enlarge it to the size of a staff and hand it to Honenuki who nodded in response. She also pulled out metal loops from the pouch, enlarging them and handing them to Tetsu who smirked and slipped them onto his fists.
"Alright, let's do this!" Tetsutetsu yelled out and charged forward, though before he could make contact with the first villain the shadows beneath the villains began shifting and growing in size. "Uh, anyone else seeing this freaky stuff?"
Tetsu deemed that it would be better to stick back and not attack the villains, instead watch what was happening with the shadows. The shadows of the villains morphed into the form of hands, solid looking hands that grasped the villains' legs and stopped them from moving.
In the distance a scraping sound could be heard, everyone turning to look in the direction of the noise and meeting a sight they wish they could forget. A thin man clad in black and silver armour, a bladed arm that looked like and axe and a clawed hand was walking toward the group. His single red eye was glowing in the darkness, casting an eery glow across the area. His capes also waved in the wind, dancing in the air and scaring the villains even further.
"You villains are all the same, greedy, deceitful, violent. You're like cockroaches, no matter how many are taken down, more will show up." The man's voice was soft, yet it echoed throughout the area sending shivers down the spines of all the villains. "It's my job to clean it all up. But the king tasked me with protecting his classmates, so I'll leave you all with a warning instead."
From every villain's shadow, another strand rose up and gained a sharp point. The strand entered the villains ear canal, forcing its way through the skull of the villain and entering the brain. The villains all screamed in pain, shaking violently as they struggled.
"You three, come with me if you want to live." The man pointed his clawed hand at the three students, all who began nodding their hands vigorously at the mans prompting. The four walked out of the area, experiencing no more resistance.
"Excuse me, what did you do to those guys?" Honenuki took the opportunity to question their saviour/captor. If he was sent to protect them then he had to be a hero right?
"I made them experience their worst nightmare a thousand times over." The man didn't elaborate on that, chuckling to himself as if he found pleasure in the suffering of others.
"And who are you?" Tetsu asked this time, he had never seen this hero before, maybe it was a new hero he didn't know about.
"I go by Escuridao, though the king knows me as [Elemental Hero Escuridao]." This caused the students to sigh in relief, this was one of Clay's summons so they were safe, even if this one was a terrifying summon. "Come, we must regroup with the others."
