"My lady?" Míriel softly spoke up, looking from her weave of her grandson's wedding to the Valie that had just returned from somewhere beyond her reach.
"Yes?" There was something viscerally terrifying about facing an Ainu in their domain, where much of the cloaking they did outside was peeled off... most of the time, subconsciously, even by beings who needed to go seven mental layers down to hit a subconscious. All-remembering eyes looked at her, webs spiraling into nothing as the large loom at the far wall creaked ominously. A warp was setting up, seemingly by itself, though probably actually some metaphysical arms.
"Where do you go?" For centuries, she and Vairë had spend most their time in here, but lately her lady had taken to leaving her part of Mandos' halls regularly for exceedingly longer times.
"Mmhhh...?" It felt as if a few more eyes narrowed at her, but that was something she'd had felt a few times before. Usually when something momentous was happening with her family, but she figured that starting to question the Valar would count as well. "Ah... you would question, would you not?" Vairë offered a small smile. "Fëanáro had to have gotten it from someone, after all."
Míriel didn't answer outright, just tilting her head some.
"I suppose... I have made a friend, if I may apply such terms to myself." Still, it was telling that after questioning, there was also answering. "And they... she?... do not live in the Halls, necessitating my leave of them." There was a shift in the non-air that probably came from a dozen metaphysical shoulders shrugging. "Did I neglect you?"
"Oh... no, not at all!" She still had free reign over her works, after all, free to choose to weave knowledge of her kin, or just whatever she wanted and the Maiar did not oppose her in any way as she moved between the Halls of Mandos proper and the wing of Vairë therein. "I was just... curious, I suppose."
"Also like Fëanáro." Vairë mused, half-turning from here. "Here, I think you can bear the sight for a bit." A tapestry unfurled from nothing, the two physical hands of the Valie carefully holding it. "Don't look too long though."
That last bit, she didn't need to be told, because the moment her eyes tried to make sense of the main shape, she felt a migraine coming up. She did not even know that a migraine could happen anymore without a body to feel the pain. "A spider?" That was the closest thing she could compare it to, before she really had to look away.
"Some primordial form of it, yes." The tapestry was returned to wherever it had been stored before being pulled out. "I suspect from the Void beyond Eä."
"Is that not dangerous!?" Míriel burst out, almost instantly feeling better when her mind was no longer trying to make sense of something that one should not have been forced to make sense of.
"Yes." Her lady evenly admitted, the warp at the far loom gently humming in some low tone she'd heard only a few times before. "But better than not doing anything about it."
"Of course." She did trust the judgement of her lady, and if not hers, then certainly Namó's, who would hardly let his spouse do something dangerous... she hoped. "I would not..."
"I do value your opinion." Vairë looked down, faint smile on her face. "That is why you are here, after all."
