Chapter 17 Lightspeed
Sean was in his office going over new reports on new members of the Legion that Amanda managed to bring in.
"Deadshot, Killer Frost, Black Spider. How she finds these people always amazes me." Sean said.
"You're not the only one who's got a skill in recruiting people." Amanda said walking in looking amused.
"Recruiting or threatening? I'm still not a fan of that Suicide squad thing you used to operate." Sean said.
"It had its uses back then. Even you can't deny." Amanda said.
"Nope. Anyway recruitment is getting higher and higher every day. And the Republic finally has started building its own army." Sean said.
"I heard a senator completely opposed to it though and tried to stop it." Amanda said.
"And you would be correct." Tarkin said walking in.
"The Senator from Naboo. From queen of the Planet who liberated it 10 years ago. She's overly optimistic. Thinks we should negotiate a peace settlement." Sean said scoffing.
"And she thinks we can because?" Amanda said.
"As I said she's overly optimistic. I don't know what Anakin sees in her." Sean said. (I know she's done good things and all but she's a little too optimistic)
"Anyway the new troops of the Republic are getting settled in." Tarkin said showing surveillance of them being trained by those currently in the Legion.
"And using old Republic Armor. Nice. I always liked that armor." Sean said making him smirk.
"I figured as much. Currently the Republic has over 10,000 troops and climbing." Tarkin said before an alert came up.
"What is it?" Amanda asked as footage of some volcano erupting in Mariner Bay.
"Mariner bay? Oh shit." Sean said.
"Know something?" Tarkin asked.
"Yup." Sean said leaving.
Meanwhile
The City was evacuating from the attack by the Volcano.
Sean suddenly appeared on top of a building.
"Hmm." Sean said before seeing five large vehicles with one being an aircraft. "Hey. Do we have any operations here?" Sean asked on comms.
"No. But there is a group of new Rangers there. Lightspeed Rescue." Lane said.
"Oh more rangers huh?" Sean asked seeing three of the vehicles combine before the red one moved forward before fisted ladder arms punched into the building.
Scanning the building however he noticed some civilians trapped inside.
"Kal. Your up." Sean said.
"I'm on my way." Superman said.
The Lightspeed rangers were inside the building heading for the Elevator.
Arriving to it they tried to open it up.
"Need a hand?" Superman asked behind them.
"Whoa." The Red Ranger said surprised as he opened the door seeing a woman and two children before they got them out and got out just the building started to collapse.
"Nice work Kal. Now comes something more difficult." Sean said as the volcano turned into a monster.
"What in the world is that?" Superman asked as Lantern and Batman arrived.
"That is a Demon from the Ranger universe. This one is small time though compared to others." Sean said as the remaining vehicles combined to make a Megazord.
"Not bad." Lantern said impressed.
Meanwhile
Captain Mitchell watched as the Legion arrived.
"Sir, we're reading a large unknown object heading from the sea to the bay."
"Any matches?" Mitchell asked.
"It's in the Legion database...Oh."
Coming out of the sea was a fully grown Zilla who roared loudly into the air.
"Oh no." The Pink Ranger said.
"This thing caused enough damage in New York." The Green Ranger said.
"Relax. He's on our side." Sean said on the comms as it charged at the monster ramming into it making it roar crashing down.
"All right." The Blue Ranger said.
Zilla roared as he battled against the demon before breathing green atomic breath at it making it roar loudly.
"Hmm." Sean said examining the fight to see Zilla's fighting capabilities.
"You know theres a chance of him still being able to reproduce." Batman said.
"Actually there isn't. We did through scan. They can't reproduce without a mate. The Original was a one time thing I guess." Sean said as Zilla was punched back.
"Ok thats it." The Red Ranger said as a sword came to the MegaZord before slashing it making it explode.
"Not bad for a bunch of kids." Lantern said.
"Oh shut up." Sean said.
Later
"Sean. Good to see you again." Mitchell said shaking his hand.
"Likewise. So these are the Lightspeed Rangers." Sean said.
"Carter Red Ranger. Joel Green Ranger. Chad, Blue Ranger. Kelly Yellow Ranger. And my daughter Dana Pink Ranger." Mitchell said.
"Why am I not surprised?" Sean asked amused making her smile.
"It's an honor to meet you sir." Carter said shaking his hand.
"Same. So I see you guys have been busy fighting demons." Sean said.
"How'd you know they were demons?" Kelly asked.
"Because I know their leader. Diabolico." Sean said.
"How?" Joel asked.
"Sean's traveled every universe his Grandfather created before the Merge. It's not surprising he would encounter them." Mitchell said.
"So your gonna help us destroy them?" Kelly asked.
"No...I'm gonna end things peacefully." Sean said about to leave,
"Peacefully? How? They just tried to destroy the city." Chad said.
"You'll see." Sean said leaving.
Meanwhile
"I don't understand. Where did that thing come from?" Diabolico asked angered.
"Maybe we could use it against the Rangers." Loki said.
"Don't even think about it horn head."
"Who said that?" Loki asked looking around as Sean stepped out. "Kruger?" Loki asked making him smirk. "Wow you grew up fast." Loki said.
"Thats what happens when 7 years pass by. Hey Vypra." Sean said making her smile.
"Hello Sean." Vypra said.
"Why are you here?" Diabolico asked.
"To give you an offer I know you and the Queen could never refuse. Why settle for a speck of land...When you can have an entire planet?" Sean asked getting their attention.
"Go on." Diabolico said.
"If you call off your attacks on the city and join the Legion...I will offer you a planet that suits your needs. One that is not inhabited by anyone else. Giving you total control." Sean said.
"Your offer is indeed tempting my old friend...However the Queen is not so easily swayed." Diabolico said.
"Oh I think she will. You all know what my people are capable of. Makes the queen look small in comparison and you all know that and so does she." Sean said.
"True. When she returns...I will bring your offer to her." Diabolico said as he left.
"You know I honestly think this is a better option. It's means losing less of our own." Vypra said.
"Yeah. Besides he never lies anyway. None of his kind do." Loki said.
"That will be up to the queen when she returns." Diabolico said.
Later
Sean was inside the city seeing it getting repaired from the damage.
"Come to pay me a visit?" Sean asked seeing Vypra behind him making her smirk.
"A little. Mostly to see you. You've grown up a lot." Vypra said walking to him.
"Thats what happens when seven years have passed." Sean said.
"And clearly in position of power. We know about the Merge. What exactly happened?" Vypra asked.
"Unknown. Something poisoned the Energy we use to breathe. So my Great Grandfather had no choice but to merge the universes he made for what they were designed for." Sean said.
"And you have no idea what caused it?" Vypra asked.
"If only. We tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. But in all honesty I'm glad this happened. It proved my point more to my people we needed to change. To use our gifts for good. To give everyone a better future." Sean said making her grin.
"Does that include me?" Vypra asked making him snort.
"You know I have a girlfriend...And others." Sean said making her giggle.
"You know I'm not surprised to be honest." Vypra said.
"Oh yeah?" Sean asked.
"You basically care about everyone. Always keep your word. Understand people and why they turned out the way they did. It's no surprise that attracts a lot of people. Me included." Vypra said.
"Fair enough." Sean said before an explosion went off with him shielding her as he growled.
"Hello Kruger."
Sean looked seeing a man in armor glaring at him.
"Bison." Sean said glaring at him with sharp teeth making him chuckle.
"You remember me. I'm so flattered." Bison said making him snarl.
"I haven't forgotten what you did to Juri. I'm normally someone who doesn't like the idea of taking a life." Sean said before a blade came out of his wrest from his armor. "But for you...I'll make an exception." Sean said as they charged at each other making waves of power that sent people back.
"What happened here?" Loki asked appearing.
"I'm not sure. But if I had to guess? Sean clearly has issues with him. Said something about what he did to Juri. Don't know who that is." Vypra said.
"Right here." Juri said appearing behind her. "I've known Sean before the merge. He and I have a history. And he hates Bison for what he did to me. So you can imagine he wants him dead." Juri said glaring at the man who ruined her life.
Sean growled as he blasted him back making him laugh.
"Is that the best you can do Kruger? Still the runt I remember meeting all those years ago!" Bison mocked.
"ENOUGH!"
Bison looked up before seeing storm clouds as lightning struck him making him growl in annoyance.
"Hello Bansheera." Sean said as her spectral form appeared.
"Oh great. More freaks." Bison said.
"Make another move and I promise it will be your last." Bansheera said making him growl looking at Sean who snarled making him throw down a smoke bomb.
"GRRR! Find him!" Sean yelled at some troopers who rushed off to find him along with other Demons. "I take it your accepting my offer." Sean said.
"I'd be a fool to pass up an offer like yours. However I won't be able to lead my people until my body is restored. And that won't happen for some time until the planets are fully aligned. And because of the Merge thats gonna take longer." Bansheera said.
"Maybe not. I know someone who can make some preparations." Sean said as she vanished.
"What was that all about?" Loki asked.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Sean said leaving with Juri who smirked.
"If I had to guess clearly those two have issues with this Bison person. Something clearly happened." Vypra said. (For those who don't know Bison is from street fighter and a major villain)
Later
Sean sighed as he was in his office again making some plans.
"You seem angry." Carter said walking in.
"I have some major issues with Bison. Let's leave it at that." Sean said.
"So now the battles against the Demons is over like with the Mutants." Carter said.
"I know them from old experience. While trapped in the netherworld I could still visit them." Sean said.
"So where does that leave light speed?" Carter asked.
"With the Legion. There are still other threats out there. And I'm pretty sure other Rangers will show up...And I'm hoping so." Sean said before an alert showed up making him look seeing Senator Padme. "Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me." Sean said as she walked in. "What do you want now?" Sean asked annoyed.
"I just heard you managed to stop the fighting between humans and Demons. So why can't you do the same for the others like Darkseid and compromise and stop building an army?" Padme asked.
"BECAUSE I'M NOT A FUCKING MORON THATS WHY!" Sean roared shocking her.
"Whoa. Easy." Carter said.
"Bansheera and her people I can compromise easily. Him on the other hand though is backstabbing bastard who has murdered billions. That is not someone you can compromise with. Not by a long shot!" Sean yelled.
"You could at least try. Building an army is only going to push us into a civil war." Padme said.
"Theres nothing civil about war period. A war is coming no matter what we do. Would you rather we just hand over our freedoms just to avoid one?" Sean asked.
"No. I'm saying compromising is not out of the question." Padme said.
"Oh yes it is. He tried to conquer Earth in his universe once before and came damn close to doing so. Killed hundreds of civilians without even flinching. If you think I'm gonna sit here and listen to your absolute nonsense about us making peace with an enemy that wants to rule everyone with an iron fist." Sean said.
"You don't actually know that." Padme argued.
"YES I DO! He's after something called the Anti-Life equation." Sean said.
"Whats that?" Carter asked.
"It's a formula that could grant him total control of the entire universe. He has been after that for centuries. I would know. High father told me long ago...You cannot negotiate with someone like that." Sean said.
"Your wrong...And I'll prove it." Padme said leaving.
"Dumbass." Sean said.
Later
"That was kinda harsh." Anakin said as they walked the halls.
"The fuck do you see in her?" Sean asked making him smirk.
"You can't say she's totally wrong. Some of our enemies we can talk to peacefully." Anakin said.
"Some sure. But not those three. And even you know that." Sean said as they made it to the armory seeing thousands of troops getting geared up.
"I'm not saying no but at the same time there are four more who are ten times more dangerous." Anakin said.
"If your referring to my aunts and uncles yeah. They're worse than ten Darkseids." Sean said.
"And I'm surprised they haven't attacked yet or anything." Anakin said.
"Probably just buying their time." Sean said.
"What exactly happened when that second invasion happened anyway? You never said." Anakin said.
"I wasn't born yet remember. I only know what the history archives say. Random invasion from another universe came and went as fast as it came. Casualties on both sides. Two being my Great-Great Grandparents. The old man barely talks about it. But unlike his siblings...He take it personally. Said just because one universe caused a great amount of pain...Doesn't mean others should be judged for something others did." Sean said.
"But they didn't see it that way." Anakin said.
"Nope. Once life was reported in the universes he created...They opted for killing everything. But no one supported that view since they felt it was wrong to judge them for something they didn't even do. Didn't matter. They were gonna do it behind everyones backs. So my Grandfather imprisoned them. And now their out." Sean said leaving.
Heading back to his office he sighed as he sat down.
"You look exhausted."
Sean looked seeing Vypra grinning at him.
"You have no idea." Sean said as she pulled him up.
"Come on. I know the perfect way for you to relax." Vypra said making him scoff in amusement.
Later
Sean sighed as he and Vypra were in a hot spring he owned
"Ok I needed this." Sean said making her giggle as she swam next to him.
"You are exhausted." Vypra said.
"I've had my hands full. But I'm willing to make the sacrifice if it keeps people safe." Sean said making her smile as she held him close making him sigh as they just relaxed.
Author's Note: I was gonna a lemon But I got sick. Now a new or rather old problem has occurred. Emails for the site are down again so until they come back up I won't be updating again much.
