Chapter 19 Section 9
Sean was in Japan looking at the sights.
"Man and this is one of my favorite countries around here." Sean said.
It had been a week since Padme had been taken hostage by Darkseid since she believed she could negotiate with them but ended up having her people killed while she was tortured.
Of course Sean sent Grievous to bring her back since he knew he alone could do the job easy rather than send an entire fleet to do so since he had issues with her. (Sora you are seriously dead wrong about Grievous and his people Maybe actually do your research correctly like we all did since you were the only one who wouldn't accept the truth)
Now things were calm again while Seto was figuring himself out.
Thats when he heard gunshots making him look seeing Motoko chasing a perp down.
"This should be interesting." Sean said following her.
Motoko was chasing down some punk when she heard him yell in pain making her look seeing Sean pressing his foot on his back.
"You don't know what your doing! Theres no hope in our system now!"
"Oh shut up." Sean said digitizing him.
"I had that under control you know." Motoko said amused.
"Oh I know I saw. But I think it's a man's job to look out for the lady. Even if she never really needs it." Sean said making her smile.
"So what brings you to Japan?" Motoko asked.
"Just taking in the sights doing what Sam said taking a little break. Honestly if I hadn't taken that advice to lighten the work load I was gonna go nuts." Sean said making her giggle.
"You know they say someone who takes the weight of the world solely on their shoulders is a great leader. But is also destined to be crushed under the weight as well. You don't have to do everything alone. Thats why we're all here." Motoko said making him smile.
"I know. Doesn't mean I won't try." Sean said.
'Major.' Aramaki said through her cyber brain which Sean picked up. 'Assemble the team with an A-2 load out.' Aramaki said.
Thats when a Pelican arrived with Batou and the Chief.
"Wonder whats going on now?" Sean asked.
"Something serious I'd imagine." Motoko said as they got in.
Later
"So let me get this straight? Three of more hostages that have been taken captive by Robot Geishas are in the building and we have no idea if someone is controlling them. And amongst them is the Minister of foreign affairs?" Sean asked Aramaki.
"Thats what Kubota told me. Does something about this seem strange to you?" Aramaki asked.
"Very. These days the new Robots are hard to hack unless these are old models that are still being used due to pride or arrogance since they're all free these days since the Merge." Sean said.
"Or someone made sure these ones were placed here on purpose just for this event. In which case we need to find out who and why." Aramaki said.
"Motoko." Sean said.
Motoko and her team were right outside the building getting in position.
'We're right outside the building. Our orders are to make sure we don't destroy them so can run a back trace to find out if someone is controlling them.' Motoko said.
'But Major...What if the Robot Geishas demand a pay raise?' Batou asked amused making her roll her eyes while Sean chuckled.
'Funny. But seriously just get the job done. I need to know if this is HYDRA or COBRA.' Sean said.
'What about that other one? XANA. He could pull someone like this off.' Togusa said.
'His area is in France this is way outside his area. Hacking into the Network back then was from there. He couldn't possible pull this off.' Motoko said.
'Get going.' Sean said.
'Right.' Motoko said as she, Batou and Togusa rushed in using Camouflage tech.
Inside three robot geishas held three men down.
Thats when they were shot in the head by Motoko and the others.
Only for one to start going nuts hurting her captive before Motoko blasted the top of the head off but left the neck intact as she pulled a wire from her neck to connect to it.
Connecting to it she found someone was controlling them from outside before his equipment fried up before bolting.
'Sean, theres a perp leaving the area.' Motoko said.
"I hear ya. Chief, You and Blue team are on point." Sean said.
"Understood." Chief said.
"Whats the casualties?" Sean asked.
"Three are injured but not life threatening. One causality. Cyborg body with massive head trauma. One female seriously injured and needs medical attention." Motoko said.
"Copy that." Sean said as he walked out.
"Can you walk Minister?" Togusa asked helping him up.
"Yes. We owe you our lives."
Thats when he grabbed some case making him raise an eyebrow before they were escorted out by clones.
"Major. You think this could be someone else. Doesn't really seem like Hydra or COBRA." Rex said.
"I don't know Captain. But either way we gotta take care of this or it could get worse. Search the area incase theres something we missed." Motoko said.
Chief and his team pursued the suspect before destroyers arrived and ran into him making him yell as he fell forward before the Chief pinned him down.
"Nice work Chief." Kelly said as the rest of blue team arrived.
"Ready to talk punk?" Fred asked making him grin.
"AAAAH!" The punk screamed as he was electrocuted from the neck.
"Huh?" Kelly asked pulling his collar down showing electrical devices plugged into his neck to his cyber brain.
"Wow. This guy didn't take chances." Cortana said.
"Commander we have a problem." Chief said.
"When do we not?" Sean asked.
Later
"Well, that just fucking figures. Guy had these plugged into the connectors on his neck to his cyber brain. To keep us from finding out what the hell that was all about." Sean said throwing the device on the table in Aramaki's office.
"Hmm. This seems troubling." Aramaki said.
"Now what is this about?" Sean asked Kubota.
"Recently it's come to our attention the Minister has been looking into the Ichinose report." Kubota said.
"Isn't that one of the lists of military actions during emergencies? Or is that the old one?" Motoko asked.
"It's still in effect for now till next year when the Legion hands the new one out. But because of this we've decided to keep an eye on him. The woman was one of my people." Kubota said.
"You usually don't make mistakes like this." Sean said.
"No...But with all the threats coming day to day we couldn't take chances. If HYDRA or COBRA got their hands on that report...They could use it to deliver a serious blow. And even if it's not them we still can't take chances. After all while they may be the most dangerous groups on Earth there are still others that would take advantage with information like that." Kubota said.
"Yeah...Something ain't right. We'll keep a close eye on the minister." Sean said as Kubota left. "I don't know if he's just being paranoid or not but the fact is the Minster has no legitimate reason to be looking into that report." Sean said.
"He could just want to be prepared. After all everyone knows a war's coming like it or not. Being prepared could mean the difference between surviving and dying pointlessly." Motoko said.
"That may be true but still we need to take this serious. If this is a threat to security we need to cover every part of this." Aramaki said.
Later
Sean and Motoko entered her home seeing it was classy.
"Didn't take you as the kind who's into high class." Sean said making her smile.
"Well. Just because I'm military doesn't mean I don't enjoy having a real nice home. And with Section 9's pay I can afford it." Motoko said.
Sitting on a couch he sighed before she sat down on his lap.
"Come on out with it. Whats bothering you?" Motoko asked making him sigh.
"Everything. I keep expecting some attack from them but nothing keeps happening." Sean said.
"You mean Arthur's siblings." Motoko said getting him to nod. "Maybe they had a change of heart and John was the only one who wouldn't change." Motoko said.
"I very much doubt that. People like them don't change so quickly. Remember they didn't age or anything when they were in the void. People like them don't change. They set out to kill all life in every universe before today. Thats not people who change." Sean said.
"I think you would be surprised." Motoko said laying her head on his chest as he sighed.
Next day
"The fuck am I looking at?" Sean asked seeing the Minister on a video surveillance from last night.
"This is before the attack. Now watch closely." Motoko said as the Minister went into the restroom with a Robot geisha.
"So he's fooling around with her." Sean said.
"You know with Cyber brains you can take control of robots of swap your minds with them. Rumor has it that the Minister occasional does that with them when he's drunk." Motoko said repulsed.
"Oh don't tell me he's one of those a man in a woman's body so instead of getting a new cyberbody he does this?" Sean asked rolling his eyes. While he believed everyone was free to be who they wanted it was still strange to him.
"I guess." Motoko said before the Official who was killed.
"Don't tell me he's joining in?" Sean asked rolling his eyes.
"I don't think so." Motoko said before the Secretary showed up before screaming and then attacked. "Now according to the Minister he said the Official was attacked and killed first. But this video disproves that." Motoko said.
"Unless, He's not actually telling the truth. What about the Cyber brain?" Sean asked.
"Hmm?" Motoko asked.
"From the Official? What about that?" Sean asked.
"Well, when we did an autopsy some things weren't adding up. It doesn't match parts of a firm certain Officials like him are supposed to get to maintain their job. Something isn't right." Motoko said as he rubbed his chin in though.
"Hold up...Togusa?" Sean called on comms.
"Yeah?" Togusa asked.
"You said that the Minister picked up a case right?" Sean asked.
"Yeah. I did. I didn't think much of it at the time. But something did bother me about it though since why would the Minister need to carry a case around like that at that size." Togusa said.
"Unless...It wasn't just any case. Now lets go over what we know. The Minister went into the restroom with the Geisha and then the Official came in as well. And then not long after the Secretary came in and screamed and was attacked." Sean said.
"So?" Motoko asked.
"What if she saw something that shocked her and tried to call for help to warn the others? What if the Minister...Isn't the Minister." Sean said.
"Wait a second! You're saying they switched out the Cyber brains of the Minister with someone else." Togusa said.
"Exactly. The whole thing was a distraction knowing the police would intervene so no one would catch on to what really happened." Sean said as they left.
Later
After arriving at the airport they grounded the Jet the Minister was going to use to take off.
"What is the meaning of this? HEY!" The Minister yelled as Sean took the case showing the Cyber brain of the real Minister.
"Honestly I kinda Hate Cyber brains if this shit can be pulled off." Sean said.
"It was a sound plan. Pose as the Minister to gain access to the files you were after and exploit them." Aramaki said making him sweat.
"You just killed me."
"Huh?" Sean asked before a bullet passed through glass into his head killing him as he fell over.
"Snipper!" Batou yelled.
"Search the Area!" Motoko yelled.
"Don't bother. That bullet came from at least a mile away." Sean said looking at the Dead fake Minister.
"The hell is going on? Was HYDRA or COBRA behind this?" Togusa asked.
"Nope. This isn't their style. No. I think we got a new party involved. Someone who's got a vendetta against us." Sean said.
"Who?" Motoko asked.
"We'll find out soon enough." Aramaki said.
Later
"Well, the good news is the real minister is gonna be ok since his cyber brain got transferred to a new body." Sean said.
"I'm kinda creeped out you can just transfer your brain to a different body when you go cyber." Janet said shuddering.
"New science. At least it means an answer to helping people who have no arms, legs and lose certain organs to replace them and still live a normal life." Hank said.
"Mmm. In any even we have a new enemy. Or possibly an old one from one of the other universes." Sean said.
"Yeah...But why?" Flash asked.
"Could be any number of reasons." Iron Man said.
"We'll find out eventually." Sean said.
Author's note: I am a huge fan of Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex. Amazing designs. Nice Plot and ending. And the action in later episodes is just awesome like the one after this. Now Next Chapter is gonna be one of my favorite Monsterverse movies involving a certain island with some unexpected surprises. Don't forget to vote in the poll up top of my profile.
