Trouble In Paradise

Even heroes need to take PTO as Izuku finds out when All Might and his fellow co-workers tell him he's getting too burnt out. And it seems many of his old female classmates have been tasked with the same instruction: take some R&R and have fun! Fun has many meanings though leading to confessions, kisses, and potential scandals. Especially now outside U.A.'s walls… Izuku x Harem.

Chapter 1: Pack Your Bags Young Midoriya!

Izuku

"I'm fine, really."

He forces on a tight grin that strains at the edge of his lips, far from the perfected smile he created for the public.

And Toshinori sees right through it.

Izuku sighs, dropping the grin as he sits opposite of him, hands clasped together in that same manner he recalls from his U.A. days.

A lecture on his mental health is coming.

"I heard from Yatsuhiro that you've been pulling 16 hour shifts back-to-back! You know that's unacceptable Young Midoriya when crime has- "

"Been at an all time low. I know, I know. However, I can't just ignore when Danger Sense activates. Criminals big and small want to make a name for themselves, be the one to say they took the great Deku down with their own hands or something to that effect."

Toshinori leans back in his chair, cerulean eyes taking in the deep stretches of grays and blacks pooling under his eyes, scratches and bruises to his arms and hands the colors of fading reds and violets in different stages of healing.

'It's just like when he became a vigilante and left U.A. without telling anyone.' He realizes.

No, he can't let him spiral down this path the same way he did once before, constantly on duty 24-7, refusing help or breaks from his fellow heroes and assistants.

"Yes, crime doesn't have a timetable or just stop. Though we both know you're getting exhausted, not eating properly, or getting enough sleep. That makes you a danger to yourself and the very people you're trying to protect Young Man." He orders.

He inwardly chuckles as Izuku stiffens at the scolding, no matter how old he gets some habits are hard to break.

Toshinori points to his bowl of gyudon to continue eating.

He rather as well have a full stomach with what he's about to tell him next.

"I know you're your own boss now, but I spoke with your top assistants from the agency Kiyohira and Masahide to get a true assessment of how you've been feeling and acting over the past couple of weeks." He begins.

Beef and egg turn sour on his tongue. A tightness wraps around his stomach like a snake, nearly makes him push back from the table.

"Meaning?" Izuku clears his throat.

"Essentially, they want you to take a break. Not a permanent one; mind you! Just as much time as you need to get away from it all, not have to deal with the stress of interviews, paparazzi, and of course, hero duties." Toshinori explains.

Izuku sucks in a slow breath.

He knows Kiyohira and Masahide mean well; they helped him build up Valiant in the first place after all. Together along with passing help from Katsuki, Todoroki, and Iida the agency has grown from a small hole in the wall to one of the most premiere hero agencies post-graduates and students alike clamor for to do internships at or spend their first year out of academy at.

He can't just leave that all behind to…to…relax!

Izuku sits forward, chews on bits of rice gathering his thoughts.

"I can tell they've probably been thinking about this for a good while, right? I'd hate to leave them swamped with paperwork or if a major crime happened and I wasn't here to help assist or render aid."

Toshinori chuckles, pats at his arms affectionately.

'Nana would say he's speaking nearly word for word like I did.'

"Technology has only advanced more and more since you graduated Midoriya. On top of that, they're prepared to bring in additional help from outside companies once you give the okay. Crime has been at an all time low since you became the Number 1 hero of Japan. There's been no reports a new League of Villains is going to form anytime soon and there's more than enough manpower here to handle you being gone for a few weeks."

Izuku drums his fingers against the table, trying to find something, anything that will put a crack in these plans, refute his claims that he'll be fine with a day's rest or two.

Nothing comes to mind.

He rubs at his head, Toshinori grinning knowingly he has no excuse for him.

"Alright, Alright. I'll think on it."

Izuku-Midoriya Household

Hisashi blows fire to the stove's burners, giving Inko a thumbs up making her erupt in giggles.

"Dear, you know I could've just turned them on the normal way!"

Hisashi shakes his head, gestures between her and Izuku. "What and not pull out the works since our one and only son is visiting for dinner? No way!"

Izuku chuckles, soaking in his parent's affection. It's easy to see that retirement has done his Dad well, taking Mom with him now on any overseas trips and little excursions to hot springs and fancy hotels, hours he puts in now only part-time or on an as needed basis for his old tech job.

Verdant eyes twist back to him. "We're making your favorite Katsudon sweetie, you just sit back and relax and it will be ready in a half an hour at most!"

Hisashi settles in beside him, dark eyes narrowing in concern and Izuku realizes he probably looks as fatigued to him as he did to All Might.

On the walk here he washed off his face, made sure as day turned to night to wear a warmer jacket to stop them from thinking he's coming down with the flu.

"Are you getting enough sleep Izuku? I know heroes don't get 'breaks', however you have to take care of yourself too."

His mind flashes unbidden with memories of his vigilante days once more, Uraraka's declaration atop U.A. amid pouring rain and streaks of thunder…

Izuku shrugs, not bothering with a fake smile for his parents.

"It could be better I suppose. Heh, All Might actually suggested I take a vacation. What do you guys think of that?" He jests.

Hisashi sips at his tea, nods in agreement with the idea.

"I don't see why not! Crime has been at such an all-time low these days that the news has started to report on crimes happening outside Japan first! It's all thanks to you, even a week or two off would do your body good."

Inko comes around to press a hand to his cheeks and head with a hum, checking for a fever they both know isn't there.

"Yes, you deserve a break! Heroes can't function on empty stomachs or without sleep! You know this, we've been through it before."

His voice dries, arguments and notes he brainstormed in his mind turning to dust.

Inko and Hisashi share a look at his silence, reluctant to say more.

Hisashi clears his throat. "Let's get some food in our systems before we continue this subject, yeah?"

Izuku nods, smell of pork broth, onions, and chive a welcome distraction over discussions of his work-life balance.

Or his lack of one.

"You've just hit 21 now Izuku. While I might've traveled for work, you can travel for the adventure, the excitement of seeing other cultures! Plus, I'm sure it's crossed your mind to start dating, hang out with all your old academy buddies." Hisashi asserts.

Izuku chokes on a slice of egg, steam doing nothing to hide the heat he feels crawling up his neck.

"What?! Dad, I'm not- "

Hisashi holds up a hand.

"Just think about it, for both your Mom and I. You don't need to become a workaholic like I did. It damaged my health and aged me in ways you don't see right now, but will hit you later on in life if you don't slow down some."

Izuku swallows, takes in patches of white sprinkled throughout his green-black hair, wrinkles that mar his chin and cheeks, the intensity of his gaze not to repeat his mistakes.

Or All Might's.

He straightens in his chair, nodding to avoid an argument. Inko shoos him away from helping wash off the dishes, heading out onto the patio with Hisashi to take in the evening air.

Summer days into nights in Musutafu stay humid, sky awash in ribbons of reds and orange, black of nightfall approaching as moonrises.

For the most part even on his birthday, he's spent many a night at Valiant staying up reviewing cases from moonrise until sunrise the following day he realizes.

Hisashi pats gently at his shoulders, chuckling rubbing at his shoulders until they finally start to relax.

"Sleep on it, there's no need to rush to choose to do anything at this moment. But…it would greatly please your Mom and I to see you chilling on a beach than swamped with paperwork up to your shoulders!"

It stays on his mind the whole way back to his apartment, the last time he probably took a real vacation was the brief trip to Okinawa after graduating from U.A.

"Has it really been that long?" He mutters to himself in surprise.

'I'll talk to my team tomorrow.'

Valiant Agency

"Wow, I thought it would've taken at least a week more of convincing to get you on board sir!" Masahide chimes out.

He chuckles at Izuku's flat look in return, Kiyohira nudging him to hush.

"It will only be for a week, maybe two weeks at most." He reaffirms, taking in the string of photos behind him.

Pictures of him at a photo-shoot for a new elementary school in his name, carrying a pair of elderly twin sisters out of a burning building, and then his favorite:

Class 1-A's 3rd reunion from earlier in the year.

Petals pink and white cover the corners, the heavy scent of dew and grass tickling his nose recalling the memory.

Bright smiles, the hope of the future on their shoulders.

Kiyohira clears his throat, holds up a set of flyers and pamphlets for Izuku to review.

"Okinawa Main Island has typically the best beaches around if you're trying to not go too far. My girlfriend and I went there in early June to check out the white sand beaches and to snorkel in the coral reefs."

Masahide grins, pulls up a set of pictures on his phone.

"I suggest if you're going with Miyako Island to check out Sunayama beach and the Eastern Cape. On sunny days, you can watch the sunrise from the lighthouse, look out for miles to the other smaller islands."

Izuku takes in images of crystal blue waters, exotic flora and fauna that don't grow or live on the mainland, bridges that connect the islands, and plates of soba noodles and goya champuru (melon stir fry).

Mimiko, one of the latest interns bounds over excitedly picking up bits of their conversation.

"Oh, you're going to be heading out to the Okinawa Islands?! If so, stay at Blue Waters Miyakojima or Lotus Breeze Miyakojima! My parents just had their anniversary out there and they brought back these- "

Izuku holds up a hand as his assistants and aids flood him with suggestions and things to do.

"Whoa, Whoa! I haven't even bought an airline ticket yet! And I need to make sure all the villain cases are covered before I go on top of ensuring the budgets for new equipment are ready to go and- "

Masahide holds up a stack of folders. "Way ahead of you boss!"

Kiyohira holds up a print out of various ticket options. "Just circle which day you want and I'll get everything set up!"

Izuku deflates, his team knows him too well.

He rubs at his forehead as they return back to their desks, sending him winning grins that he's truly taking this idea of a vacation seriously for once.

'Well, better take a look at it since they went to all this trouble.' He decides, moving aside his journals and files on the latest villains captured last week still in need of processing. His stomach lurches again at the idea of leaving all this work behind, but it isn't as crammed with paperwork like it was during the early spring.

He pulls up Lotus Breeze Miyakojima on his phone, villas that promise privacy for the hero or civilian looking for a way to escape the cityscape for a bit.

'We offer seafood cuisine that can't be found anywhere in the Kanto regions! Pamper yourself at our Waterfall Massage and Pedicure/Facial. If you're feeling more action oriented, we offer snorkeling deals, fishing excursions, hiking trails, and glass bottom rides out into sea.' He reads.

Well, it doesn't sound…that awful to check out for a few days' tops.

He rubs out a crick in his neck, notices Kiyohira eyeing him carefully before lowering his head quickly back towards his laptop.

The first flight he listed is for this Sunday, a flight that will leave out Sunday morning around 9:00 am arriving in the mid-afternoon.

They aren't even bothering to hide their watching.

Izuku clears his throat, a dozen sets of eyes falling upon him awaiting his orders.

"I've come to a decision."

Musutafu International Airport

The airport is busy enough that most people don't give him anything more than just a passing glance, airport attendants and assistants too busy keeping lines orderly and baggage's labeled to be sent off to their correct destinations.

Izuku Midoriya or Deku is just a regular customer/passenger like everyone else.

Good.

But it's he who ends up doing a double-take when a pretty brunette plops into the open seat beside him, fanning at her flushed cheeks.

"Ugh, how did I almost end up at the international gates when I'm flying domestic?" She mutters to herself and Izuku blinks, he's heard that accent before.

From Ochako.

He bends his head slightly lower to get a better look at her, reddening taking in how her pink summer dress hugs her figure and curves, breasts peeking out revealing the edge of her white bra when her gaze abruptly twists to him.

Crap.

Her lips etch up in that familiar way that always made his heart race, brows knitting together.

"Hmm, do I know you?" She questions.

Auburn eyes fall to his freckles he probably should've hid better, flecks of his green hair surely poking out from beneath his beanie.

"You should Uraraka. You're the one who gave me my hero name after all." Izuku smiles warmly.

Ochako swallows a gasp in excitement, leans in closer giving him nearly a view of everything.

"Wait, Midoriya?! No, Deku! No way, what are you doing here?! Iida says you practically live at your Hero Agency Valiant!" She bounces in her seat, trying and failing to not make too much noise as a few strangers turn to look at her.

Izuku scratches at his cheek, shrugging. "Everyone, even All Might think I need a break."

Ochako chuckles, points at herself as well. "Is that so? You'd think I'd know everything about breaks and vacations too with running Cloud Nine Wellness Center for Heroes and The Galaxy agency, but both my newest interns said I need to slowdown in how many clients I'm taking on."

She stretches back in her seat then, gaze turning towards the rolling hills in the distance, greenery lit in waves of gold and reds.

"I've never actually been to Okinawa and it's surrounding islands and prefectures. Maybe I'll learn a thing or two I can bring back to the Wellness Center." She muses aloud.

'Ah, we're heading to the same place. I wonder where she's staying?'

"Uraraka, where are you going to be staying at- "

His voice gets swallowed up by the intercom clicking on, the announcement their plane is ready to begin boarding.

Ochako blinks, gestures with a finger to her ear but Izuku shakes his head.

Never mind.

It's not that important, Uraraka has her own agenda and he doesn't need to entangle himself in it.

He settles into his seat in the middle row, familiar giggle ringing in his ears to see Ochako gesture to the window seat. He gets up to let her in, not missing the way she turns her body towards him to get to her seat.

Her eyes shine with curiosity, turning her head to whisper in his ear igniting goosebumps along his skin.

"This must be fate huh? We get to catch up!"

Izuku manages a nod, voice in knots as her breast squishes against his arm before she settles into her seat properly and adjusts her seatbelt on. It's about 4.5-hour flight he reminds himself, he'll be fine.

His voice comes out in scrambles, nothing like the confidence he gained to do interviews and press talks on his own.

"Y-Yeah! So, err, how've you been since graduation Uraraka?"

Lotus Breeze Miyakojima

It smells of sea salt and sand in the air, far cooler here than back in Musutafu.

'This isn't actually so bad.' He realizes, accepting his keycard from one of the secretaries.

"Your room is 3109A on the third floor. Breakfast is served for free daily from 6:00 am-10:00 am. We have a restaurant as well on the first floor called Stargaze Dining that's open until 2:00 am. You can come back here if you need towels for the pool or directions to any of the nearby amenities. And once again, welcome to Lotus Breeze!" The man explains with a beam.

Izuku nods, gives his thanks as he adjusts on his backpack and picks up his luggage.

The first thing on his agenda is a nap.

He follows a path of twisting hallways before he finally reaches his room, pausing when he clicks the door open to see shoes already by the entrance.

'Huh, maybe the cleaning team isn't done yet with the room?' He assumes, poking his head in.

He freezes up when he sees a woman in bed instead, Uraraka in nothing but lacy white underwear, bra from earlier tossed aside to the tile revealing hardened pink nipples exposed to the air.

"U-Uraraka?!" He yelps out before smacking his lips.

Too loud. So loud that Ochako stirs, sitting up from the covers slowly.

Amber eyes turn towards the sound, while Izuku steps backwards towards the doorway, falling over her purse and luggage in the process.

It's going from bad to worse.

"Hmm Deku? Is that you?"

Ochako yawns, tapping and floating the objects out of the way stepping right up to him.

"Ahh I'm so sorry Uraraka! I didn't mean to come in like this and err I just have the wrong room!" He explains quickly only for Ochako to put a finger to his lips.

"Ochako. You don't need to call me Uraraka anymore."

And then her hands curl around his neck, pulling his lips to her own.

Hello! Just a few things about this story to not confuse my lovely readers!

1. Please don't take this story too seriously, it's something I'll write when I need to turn my brain off from the real world. It's a slice of life romance/friendship with the main 'threat' plot being the paparazzi and small time villains wanting to tarnish Izuku's reputation and create a scandal in the hero community by getting his personal life in the spotlight. I was honestly just spit-balling ideas when my brother visited me last week and this was the least weird idea that came up from his wild suggestions!

2. This takes place post-manga/anime, so everyone is about the age of 20-21 from both Class 1-A and 1-B unless they're one of the older ladies. I wanted to write Izuku and the gang as adults with successful jobs and functioning in ways I think/imagine fit their personalities and behaviors in canon.

3. Who will be in Izuku's harem? Well Ochako (yeah I know it's cliché, but I like them together), Momo, Mina, Nejire, Tsuyu, Jiro, possibly 1-2 girls from class 1-B. But hell, after that, I don't know who else! I put up a poll on my pa-tre-on so if you want to throw out some suggestions both here and there I'll take both into account (but pat-re-on members will get final say) I go by TheLovelyMidnightWriter there!

If you want to see more steamy, NSFW work head on over! (I included an extended sex scene of this chapter there if you're interested!)

Check out my Insta by the same name if you want to see my book reviews, my pencil sketches, and some of my travel pics.

Alright; that's it for now, send me your thoughts!
