Father's Day was coming up, and Danny didn't know how to feel about it. I mean he wasn't the worst father in the world, and as his mother has said many, many times, "You know your father loves you." Every time he did something wrong. That means nothing when he accidentally puts you in danger 24/7. From hunting him as a ghost to building a bunch of unstable inventions, One that half killed him for Pete's sake! It also did not help at all that his Mother was not very good at all at being a mother.
He has never apologized or realized it was his fault, he couldn't connect with me. After their fishing trip, he found the book, and his father could not even put the book for their conversation with him. Do you know what hurt him the most? His father had to read it word for word.
Now it was Father's Day, the day they pretended he was the best man in the world. Well, more than we already do. Mom is tired, we don't do much anymore because she has to clean up everything because he won't slow down or let her do her ideas. He is a narcissist, and Mom was in his trap. His mother was being corrupted by him day by day. She used to be a good mother, but as the years went by, she only got worst and worst.
How do you give presents to a guy that has hurt you so badly? How do I give a card? I am scared all the time, I never feel safe. Mom isn't enough. I need my father to keep me safe too.
"Why did I have to be born into this family?"
Jazz was not looking forward to Father's Day. Her father wasn't that good of a father. He loved her, and that was about all she could say about him. He protected me from my ex-boyfriend Johnny (that was gross. I have a problem). Well more accurately he tried, but Danny was the one that protected me. That is about all I can say that is good about him.
He doesn't understand me. I am supposed to think about how he is such a great Dad. We have an overworked mother and an incompetent father. Somehow they are in love with each other? Is Mom a saint with brainwashing or a sadist who loves heartbreak? She is becoming more like her father. Jazz couldn't help but wonder what happened in her mother's childhood to make her fall for a narcissist. Well, I guess mother like daughter, because Jazz has chosen plenty of crappy lazy boyfriends.
We have a house that frankly could explode at any moment due to mostly Dad's cockmaney inventions. He just will not follow safety protocols! I think Mom has given up. I don't how to blame her, he just doesn't care. Wait, maybe he doesn't love her or us. He is a narcissist. I could hurt someone if I hear one more time "You know your father loves you." It doesn't change a damn thing.
"I am so scared. I am safe with my mother. I don't feel safe, I need my father to protect me. Why was I born into this? I feel so alone. I can not live up to some fake person that he has in his mind on who I am."
Now Danny and Jazz were adults, and it was Father's Day. This Father's Day was good for them. Jazz had a fantastic husband, and he was an amazing father to their children. And Danny was a fantastic father and husband. They broke the cycle. Father's Day was now a grand day in their households. They hardly ever thought of their childhood memories associated with Father's Day.
Danny was celebrating Father's Day with his kids and lovely wife. They took him to breakfast, and they ate a bunch of delicious food. This was a rare treat for them because Danny and Star both loved cooking and saving money. So the kids Ellie and Alex savored every moment of eating strawberry blintzes and apple juice. Then they went home, and Danny opened up his cards with childish drawings and handwriting that showed Danny his love for his children. He hugged them and enjoyed the special treatment.
Jazz woke up her kids, and they cooked breakfast in bed for her husband. It was very chaotic, which was to be expected with cooking with toddlers. Jazz had to fish out many eggshells from the scrambled eggs. In about twenty minutes Jazz had scrambled eggs, toast with jam and butter, some baked beans (from a can), and some sausages.
She used a vintage breakfast tray and brought it up to her and her husband's bedroom with two kids trailing behind her. Jazz was excited to share some delightful news with her husband. The kids, Jason and Audrey jumped onto the bed and hopped on Pop before Jazz could stop them. Her husband James woke up with a start. He somehow managed to not yell at the kids and explained calmly why they couldn't jump on him.
"Audrey and Jason, fictional books like Dr. Suess's books are not based in the real world. That means that jumping on Daddy hurts and can cause him to have to go to the doctor to fix him up."
"I am sorry Daddy. We didn't know that it would hurt you."
"I know. Just be careful next time, and don't jump on me."
"Okay, Daddy."
After the kids left to play with their toys, Jazz said to James "Hey, I got a present for you that I want you to open before we open all the other presents."
"Okay."
He opened the box, and in the box, there was a positive pregnancy test. With happy shining eyes he looked at Jazz and asked "Is this true? Am I going to be a father again?"
She nodded rapidly with happy tears streaming down her face he grabbed her waist and put her in his lap, and he kissed her passionately, and she responded in full. Once breakfast is finished, they emerge from the bedroom and continue to celebrate Father's Day. The next day they break the news to Jason and Audrey. They were not as thrilled as their parents, but they didn't cry, so Jazz and James take it as a success.
