Bo and Lauren
Bo closed her eyes and held on. She was on top of Lauren and it was the warmest place she had been in weeks. She took some deep breaths and reflected back. She thought of the moment she met the doctor. She thought of every time they slept together. She thought of every moment she wished Lauren was in her bed when she didn't know where she was. When she didn't remember the succubus. She remembered Lauren. Every bit of her. The parts that turn her on. The parts that drive her crazy. Both equal a love she has never felt before. She blinked thinking of her time on the train. Most of it had been a blur and some of it remains a blur. She knew there was more to her life than a never ending train ride, she just never knew how she would ever get off. But something told her to fight too. Something told her to fight to get home. Home is where she is right now. She has a huge ass bed that she has slept in for years. But the best bed she ever touched is beneath her. It started to squirm.
"Bo". Lauren spoke.
"Not yet". Bo replied.
"Bo can you get off of me, now?". Lauren asked.
"No. We don't know what happened just now. I'm not moving, Lauren". Bo gently shifted and adjusted her grip on the woman.
"Well, I know what happened. Your phone shut off. The battery is low". Lauren replied.
Bo rolled her eyes and pulled up. "What? Damn it". She sighed.
Lauren almost laughed but Bo's facial expression advised her not to. "Do you want to talk about it?".
Bo looked at Lauren and sighed again. "I was on this train. It never made stops. It just kept going. All I remember is seeing a tiara with my name on it, a guy named Rainer and a housekeeper. Funny right? A housekeeper on a train. Anyway, I didn't remember who I was. I didn't even know who Isabeau was. Who she is, me. Looking back on that now, it's a living nightmare."
Lauren couldn't say anything. She couldn't form a single thought. While she was out running for her life, Bo's life had been taken too. The succubus dungeon was a train. She wasn't chained, but she was trapped. "Bo".
"It's okay, Lauren. I know it is a lot to take in. But there was something encouraging me to jump. That something was and is you". Bo pulled back.
"Aife is your only viable link to your father, Bo. I don't have any answers. This is out of my control". Lauren shook her head.
"No. It is not out of your control, Lauren. She wasn't supposed to love. She was supposed to be dark and unfeeling. For most of my life outside of the Dennis family, I was. I was dark and unfeeling. Then I met Kenzi. Then I met you. Then I fell in love with you". Bo moved closer to the woman, again. She has to make Lauren understand. If she can't, who the hell would?
"Like you once said Bo, my life is nothing but petri dishes. I don't know much about your father or how to fight him. If he can take you, he's an invisible threat." Lauren finally stood and put some distance between them.
"I think I know how to bring him to me. But I can't risk you getting hurt". Bo stood and held her hands out.
Lauren shook her advances off and turned back around. "That's the huge ass difference between us, Bo. No matter how much we care about each other, I will eventually die. With your blood or not, I will die. It's just my human nature."
Bo bowed her head and walked over to the woman. "There is something that you don't know. Something that nobody besides me knows". She whispered.
Lauren turned to her. "Another lie, Bo?".
"Not exactly." Bo grabbed her chest and let go.
"Then what is it? We don't have a lot of time to bullshit around". Lauren turned her full attention on the succubus.
"You're right, we don't. But as I said before, I think I know a way to bring daddy right to me". Bo stepped back.
Taking a few steps back, Lauren blew out a breath. "If it will keep him off of you and or me, then call him. Do what you need to do. I have had far too much hanging over my head for most of my life, as it is".
"That's one of the things I love about you, Lauren. You aren't too afraid of shit". Bo walked to grab a flashlight "Watch".
Lauren stood watching the spot of Bo's chest that she pointed to and just like the brunette expected, her chest lit up like a hand.
"Shut it off". Lauren spoke. Bo nodded and turned the flashlight off. "Who else has or had one?."
"Rainer had one, but he's dead. If mine still lights up like that, it's not over". Bo set the flash light down and took a seat.
"We need Aife. We need her right now. Away from here. Somewhere we all know about". Lauren bit her lip and looked down at the floor.
"The Light Fae compound. We all know about that location. If he's really dark, it is the perfect spot to meet and dispose of him". Bo adjusted in her seat.
"Then let's call him and send him home. A deathly one". Lauren replied.
The Dal
Aife sat nursing the last of her drink when she felt her phone vibrate and then ring. "What's up?". Trick watched Aife. She had been there for hours but hadn't said much. She wasn't accepting drinks from him, only his waitress. "I'll be right there". Aife stood and walked past the bar and down the stairs. When she came back she was carrying something.
"What's going on?" Trick asked.
"It's nothing". Aife gathered herself and her things.
"Aife, if it has to do with Bo, I have a right to know". Trick groaned.
"Mother fucked you. That's the only reason we are related to you at all". Aife snapped back. The sound of her voice drew the crowd's attention to the both of them. There were a few people laughing. But it soon quieted down.
Trick stood in horror at Aife's words. The woman is never going to warm up to him again. Not that she ever did after the Queen died. When he gave her to the Dark, she didn't speak but her eyes were pure hatred. He looked to the spot where Bo had brought Dyson back. She would have brought her grandmother back too. If she was there then. He thought of when he met that succubus. She was so raw and trusting. Then she met her mother and he knew her trust would be misplaced. The old succubus was ready to kill her and wouldn't have the means to bring her back. Aife loves to hate everyone but Bo. She could snap again and he can't allow that.
"Then I'm coming with you". Trick broke the silence but was met with nothing. He had been in his head too long and Aife was now gone. "Get Dyson here". He sighed into his phone.
Dyson
The wolf sat in his car looking out of the window. He smiled at a few women but waved them off as they walked past his car. Probably humans, he thought. His eyes lit up when the woman he was looking for appeared. "Hey. Hey, can I talk to you?".
"I know you, you were in that bar that Bo hangs out in". Crystal replied.
"You're right. I know Bo. But I also know Lauren. You can get her back, if you want". Dyson smiled.
"I know all about you people. You are the biggest dick she ever spoke of. She didn't remember Bo, but she remembered you were and remain an asshole. Lauren loves Bo. Now get away from me, I have the protection of the Morrigan". Crystal pushed the wolf away with a stronger force than even he expected. Taking a few more steps, she was finally away from Dyson. He is probably a dog Fae, she thought. He smells like one. Dyson smiled. She may have just given him a lead, he didn't know about before.
Kenzi
Kenzi sat on a park bench. It is a nice distraction from sitting in the Dal listening to Dyson ramble on about the same bullshit. Hearing Trick scream at Aife and her handing him his verbal balls back. This is good. Remain neutral. Stay available should Bo and Lauren need her. Bo certainly needs the blonde. She never really understood that until now. She was miserable without the woman for years and worse when she found her.
"Get in". Aife pulled up and pushed the door open.
"Whoa. I'm minding my own business and am not trying to die today". Kenzi held her hands up.
"Get in, now". Aife said again. Kenzi didn't like her tone but finally did as she was told.
"You need to be hidden, so, I need to take you where he would never look". Aife sped away.
"He? He who?". Kenzi asked.
"Bo's father. We're about to bring him out. It won't be anything nice once we do. I'm not doing this for you. Bo needs to be focused, she won't if she knows you are out and about up to no good". Aife explained and pulled up to the Dark Fae compound. "Tell Evony, that I sent you. Behave yourself and she just might let you live".
Kenzi rolled her eyes and ran up to the building. Luckily for her, Bruce was on the door and let her in. "Aife huh? Okay. This way". He led Kenzi down a long hall and opened a large door. "Keep quiet. The Morrigan is taking a nap". Kenzi nodded and found a remote and turned the tv on its lowest volume setting.
Light Fae compound.
"Wow. My hand still works". Lauren gasped when a door opened. She guessed the Fae thought she would be coming back to work for them. No. Slave away for them.
"Where's the biggest opening?". Bo asked.
"Down the hall. We will be there very shortly". Lauren started walking with Bo by her side.
"You don't have to do this, Lauren. Mom and I can probably handle him." Bo said sadly. She hates the thought of anyone harming Lauren. But she didn't need to walk her directly into the fire.
"Someone made you forget me. Even if it was not long lasting for you, it was enough to make me inject myself with something. Something that could have killed me. I shouldn't have done that and he shouldn't have fucked with us". Lauren looked around the room. It was big enough and she knew all the exits.
The Morrigan's office.
Evony groaned when there was a hard knock at her door. She ordered it opened and rolled her eyes. "What the actual fuck do you want?".
"Call in Crystal and make her call on Lauren". Dyson stood stiff in front of the woman. He hates her, but she's the lesser of two evils at the moment.
"If you touch my human, I will call on the Light Fae Elders. You have been shit since that debacle at Taft's. If I so much as hint that you were in cahoots with him, they will consider you a traitor and kill you. I know all about Lauren, Crystal and the Succubus. You are a loser that nobody wants and I sure as hell no longer want you in my building. Now, shall I dial or will you leave?". She held up her cell phone showing him a Light Elder's name. He stood horrified and ran out of her office. That Elder could make his life miserable. He needs a better plan.
Evony laughed when the wolf ran out. He'd always been a dumbass. She wondered why the Ash didn't kill him off years ago. He couldn't do anything on his own besides fuck random women over and over.
Light Fae warehouse.
Aife walked in and Bo sighed in relief. "Thank you for coming."
"This is about all of us. Your human has been hidden away. We need you focused for this. Really focused, Isabeau". Aife walked forward.
A lump formed in Bo's throat. Her mother's eyes turned blue. She was staring her succubus dead in the eye. She got it now, why he took Aife. He needed a succubus and raped her to create Bo.
"I'm focused. Now, as I showed Lauren before. This has happened a few times and we are now the only three that knows about it". Bo showed Aife the hand that was lit up on her chest.
"So, we wait". Aife walked around in circles. Hades is an evil bastard. He can't love. He can't feel anything but darkness. But even that darkness is an emotion. An empty one. He probably put that curse on Bo when she was an infant and it never went away until she was big enough to be as powerful as she is.
Lauren walked around. She kept watching everything around them. Bo. Aife. Every door. Every window. "How will we know?" She asked.
"He will probably come to you first. If he can't emotionally weaken you, then he will come to me, then Bo and so on". Aife raised her head to Lauren and bowed it again.
"It's about our feelings isn't it?". Bo asked.
"It is. He preys on every weakness. Every emotion. He will find something and use it to his advantage. I had been dead inside for years until I found you, Isabeau. But it was never me he was going to come for. It was always you. I had to convince myself that I was crazy and that you were dead so he wouldn't come sooner. Then I found you and I was ready to take over the Fae, but you didn't want that. It's not all about Light and Dark with him, there is just dark". Aife looked around while she spoke. She kept looking at Lauren. She's a human. An easy prey.
Bo went to Lauren. "Lauren, I love you, I do. That never wavered, not even when you couldn't remember me. Whatever he does, whatever he says, trust in my love for you. I know you couldn't before. I didn't give you much reason to. Mom said he can't love. But I can and I do. So much".
Lauren nodded and smiled. She can't get lost in her emotions for Bo. Like her days with the Light Fae, she must push them down and focus on the unknown that's coming. But she never saw an unknown like Bo coming in her future back then either. She has seen her succubus probably more than anyone. When they were in the sex club, she was dark. But she never touched Lauren. She never pushed her out of the way. It still astonishes the doctor to this very day. Hades may be that dark bastard like Aife describes but Bo's best, not so secret weapon, is the doctor.
"Well, well, well. Now who might you be?". A man's laugh sailed around the room.
Bo jumped and grabbed Lauren's hand but was pulled away by an unseen force. "No!". She screamed as she hit the cold hard ground.
"It's okay, Bo". Lauren smiled in her direction.
"It's not okay, Isabeau. You are dark. You don't need her. I sure as hell don't." A male figure appeared out of nowhere.
He was old, very old. Old enough to be Aife's father. Ick, Bo thought.
"The sooner we kill you, the sooner we can get on with our lives". Aife snapped.
"Now, Aife. I have all I need out of you. She's whining on the floor. My name is Hades, by the way, Dr. Lewis". He smiled.
"I know who you are. We called you here". Lauren shrugged.
"Awfully brave for a human". Hades laughed.
"If Bo's succubus carries the same darkness that you do. This will be a quick fight". Lauren smiled in the man's face.
"Laugh all you want but you are weak. A human. A human with feelings. Feelings for Nadia. Feelings for Bo. Feelings for Crystal. What is it humans call people like you? A whore?". Hades circled the woman and she never flinched.
"How's the underworld? Nobody to talk to. Nothing to do but stare into darkness. Like the darkness in your heart. In your breath". Lauren turned around in a circle.
"Don't mock my home when I can send you home. Not to that drab house but to meet your maker. Then Aife will be dead and Isabeau and I will drain this drab world. Then bring them back as our army." Hades spoke. He had to give it to Bo, the woman is gorgeous and smart.
"I'm sick of this shit!". Bo ran and jumped on his back. He laughed and pushed her off. "Patience sweetie. Daddy won't be much longer."
"Don't you ever call her that again!." Aife marched over and was thrown to the floor. She jumped on him again and this time, he knocked her out.
"Save her, doctor. Save the succubus like you couldn't save Nadia. Save her like you couldn't save Bo from the wolf's clutches. Save her like the quitter you are when you injected yourself to forget my daughter. You aren't worthy of her. Worthy to be touched by her. She's mine and mine alone". Hades pulled Lauren to him and started to squeeze her neck.
Bo was helpless. She couldn't knock him down without knocking Lauren down too. She stood and lifted her arms. It wasn't working. Her succubus powers weren't working.
"I drained this room of succubus powers. Your mother doesn't have hers either. I guess they will both die." Hades shrugged. He tightened his grip on Lauren's neck and she was ready to pass out. She used her draining strength and reached out for Bo. Bo kicked Hades in the leg and touched Lauren's hand. It was warm like always but there was something else. Something in her eyes. Something in her touch and Bo felt it.
Her eyes flared blue and she reached into her underwear for her knife. Kicking Hades again as he tightened his hold on Lauren, she brought the blade across the back of his neck. When he dropped the doctor to the floor, she raised him up by his hair. Turning him around, she cut the front of his neck and dropped him as he bled out. "This will never be over, Isabeau. You can't kill me". He laughed.
Bo used her hands and twisted his neck from off of his body. "I just did." The succubus spoke. Wiping her hands on her pants, she turned to Lauren. The blue faded from her eyes and she went to the doctor. The blonde was on her back with one arm wrapped around a pole.
"Lauren?". Bo tearfully knelt down. The woman was out cold.
"Is she dead?". Aife asked.
"I don't know. I'm not a doctor". Bo sobbed hard as she gently cradled Lauren's body in her arms.
The doctor started to stir in Bo's arms. "Bo". She whispered.
"I'm right here. Right here". Bo cried. The doctor went stiff in her arms. "No, Lauren. I can save you. But I need your consent."
"Consent for what?". Aife's face lit up.
"This". Bo pulled a tiny vial from her pocket.
"Is that?". Aife's eyes went wide.
"It is". Bo gently shook Lauren's body so the doctor could at least open her eyes.
"What is that?". Lauren choked out.
"Before I fought the Garuda, Trick gave me a small vial of my grandmother's life essence. I saved this small amount just in case I would ever need it again. I gave Trick the rest to bring him back to life". Bo cried and held the vial up.
"That can't do anything to help a human, Bo". Lauren coughed.
"We don't have time for you to play doctor, doctor. But with your consent, I will pour this into your mouth. I know you are half dead, Lauren. I will do it regardless, but I'd rather have your consent since it's your body that could change or might change. I wanted to give this to you so you would remember me, but that wouldn't have been with your consent either." Bo popped the lid off and held it high in the air.
"Isabeau. You better stop marveling at that and look, she's out again!." Aife screamed.
Bo looked down. "Lauren?". She gently moved her legs to wake the doctor up. Lauren's head rolled over and she opened one eye. "Blink. Blink twice if you give me your consent". Bo sobbed. When Lauren blinked twice, Bo nodded and looked to Aife just before she poured it in. Lauren fell asleep and Bo picked her up into her arms. "We're going to find you a bed, babe".
