Welcome back, everybody. Get ready to meet a new character.
Night and Dave were walking side by side down a set of stairs. The stairway led underground, and one side of the stairs were made so Night or any other dragon could walk down.
Dave looked over at Nightfall as they walked. "You were correct, Zwayer agreed immediately to joining the military again, even after we did the partial briefing like we gave you."
Night nodded, "I knew he would." Night said. If he was suddenly not allowed to fight or fly anymore, he would have done anything to get back in.
Did he seem very excited to be able to fly again?" Night asked as Dave opened the door at the bottom of the stairs.
Ecstatic," Dave said as he stepped through and opened the bigger door to let Night into the room.
Night stepped through the large door and saw a familiar site. The same machine that transformed him into what he is now. And also a tube in the middle of the room with something he was not expecting.
In the same tube that held his current body when he first saw it, there was a dragon that looked completely different than what he looked like.
Night immediately started comparing this one to his own body, and there were a ton of differences.
Night was much bulkier than this dragon, this dragon. It was more like a serpent than his own bulkier body. This dragon was obviously built more for agility than strength.
It had ruffs behind its ears, and it had a more angular-shaped head.
It had curved horns and its tail looked way more flexible than his own tail.
Night looked over at Dave, who was checking up and making sure the machine was fine.
"A different kind of dragon?" Night asked, surprised.
Dave nodded, "Correct, it's one of the three dragon bodies that we are in possession of right now."
"So besides me and that dragon, there are two others?" Night asked.
Dave shook his head no, "Wrong, besides you, we are in possession of 6 different dragons."
"But I thought you just said you had three?" Night asked confused.
"Three living and breathing bodies, now that you are the general, I can tell you how we came into possession of the dragons." Dave started explaining.
"Not long after World War two, America started testing nuclear bombs on all different kinds of scales and ways. In one of the tests, we revealed something... interesting. In one of the craters from a bomb that we detonated deep underground, we revealed something we would never have expected at such depths... a tomb of some sort. There inside that tomb were the remains of seven dragons, at the time of the revelation, they had no idea what to do with the remains. All they did was collect them and study them. It wasn't until biotechnology had been invented and the war with Russia, that we knew what to do with the remains," Dave finished explaining.
"If you had six other remains, why didn't you ask for six new dragons?" Night asked confused.
Dave laughed, "Night, I don't think you realize just how much you cost to make."
"Well... I know that the tech to even transfer my mind was probably millions, but... it can't be that bad..." Night said unsure.
"You cost just about as much as the aircraft carrier that you worked on did," Dave answered.
Night paled and his jaw dropped. He knew that his carrier cost around eight billion dollars.
Night almost started gagging at that revelation.
"WHY!" Night choked out.
Because of all the tech involved, everything in this room had to be invented and you yourself, you were worth millions by yourself with how notorious of a pilot you were, and not including making the body and your very high-tech armor that is one of a kind like no other." Dave explained.
"But... eight billion dollars?" Night said, almost exhausted after hearing that.
Everybody perked up when they started to hear somebody come down the stairs.
Night gave a nod to Dave and Dave nodded back.
Night walked into the dark side of the massive room and watched from the shadows where nobody could see him to his black scales.
Three men came into the room, one of them in a wheelchair. Obviously, it was Zwayer.
Dave walked up to the man in the wheelchair, "Hello, my name is David Salinsky, I'm sure that you were just briefed on the level of secrecy on the operation that we have invited you to join?"
Zwayer nodded his head, "I know that this is a secret operation and I know that I must stay quiet about even the people I have talked to today, I am used to this level of secrecy."
"Well then, allow me to complete your briefing." Dave started with a smile, this man reminded him a lot of Night, so serious but he could tell he had a sense of humor behind it all. No wonder he wanted him to join.
"Welcome to the new, top-secret military branch..." Dave snapped his fingers and the light around the tank holding the dragon turned on, showing off the comatose creature inside."
"Draconics" Dave finished with a smile.
Zwayer gaped, "Is that a..."
Night walked out of the shadows, "A dragon, yes."
Zwayer fell out of his wheelchair, trying to back up.
Zwayer flipped over on the ground so he could see the black dragon in front of him. Palling at the sight of the huge dragon.
"You can... you're a dragon?" Zwayer asked.
Night chuckled, "No, I'm a mother fucking pony, yes I'm a dragon!"
Zwayer looked over at Dave with a questioning look.
"Allow me to introduce you to the General of Draconics, General Nightfall," Dave answered the questioning look.
Zwayer did his best to calm down and got himself back in his wheelchair, "What on god's green earth do you want me for?"
"You have been recommended to us by a friend of yours to join our top-secret military branch," Dave answered.
"How on earth could I be useful in a new branch, I'm freaking crippled from the waist down!" Zwayer said sarcastically, "And what idiot even recommended me!"
"HEY!" Night said offended.
"We are getting to that, Night here has gone over the same procedure we are going to put you through, as long as you accept," Dave said before Night could continue.
"And that is?" Zwayer asked with waited breath.
Night interrupted before anybody could say anything, "Hey man, I'm going to make this simple for you to understand," Night started, pointing over at the dragon in the tank, "You see that dragon over there?"
Zwayer nodded, looking over at the grey-scaled dragon.
"If you accept what they are asking you, you pretty much switch bodies from yours to that dragon, and you will become that dragon with all your memories and thoughts," Night explained simply.
"So... I will become a dragon?" Zwayer asked confused.
Dave cleared his throat to get attention back to himself, "If you accept, your mind, memory, and personality will be transferred to that dragon."
"How do you even do that?" Zwayer asked, amazed at the technological possibilities.
"Classified," Dave said without a second thought.
"Will I be able to switch back to my human body?" Zwayer asked.
"No, once you transfer, your body will shut down and start de-composing, and you will legally be classified as dead," Dave explained.
"And if I transfer to the dragon's body, I won't be crippled as a dragon?" Zwayer asked.
Dave shook his head, "No, none of your previous injuries as a human will transfer over."
Zwayer slapped his knee, "Then shit yea I'll do it, you could have just said I would be able to walk again, and I would have been on board, you went and added on being a dragon."
Night laughed at that, that was what he was expecting of him.
"One last question before we get this started," Zwayer started, "Who recommended me for this?"
"Our friend Night, he recommended you," Dave answered truthfully.
Zwayer looked over at Night, confused, "Do I know you?"
Night started to look a bit guilty, "Yea, when I was still a Human."
"Who are- Danny!" Zwayer said surprised. There was only one guy he knew that still had even remote contact with him from the military.
"Hey, sorry man for not talking for so long." Night said guilty.
"Bro, how did you get to become a dragon?" Zwayer asked baffled.
"Pretty much the same way as you, except I was the first person they asked," Night explained.
"Why on earth did you recommend me?" Zwayer asked.
"Well, besides the fact that I thought that you would be a perfect fit for this, I also kind of owed it to you for being a good friend and Ignoring you for the last six or so months," Night answered.
Scientists started coming into the room, getting ready for the operation that was about to commence.
One of the scientists started motioning Zwayer to the table.
Zwayer wheeled his way over to the table and lifted himself up onto the top.
"Do I need to do anything?" Zwayer asked as he lay down. The machines around him started to whirl to life.
"No, just sit still and it should go pretty smoothly like Night's operation," Dave answered.
Zwayer looked over at Night from where he was at, "Hey Danny."
Night gave him his attention.
"When I wake up, I want to have a dragon-sized beer with you."
Night laughed, "Only you would ask for a beer when you are about to get turned into a dragon, just like you asked for a beer after you lost the use of your legs. Sure man, I'll make sure it's the good stuff."
A voice started in the room, "All right, we are starting in three! Two! One!
All the machines lit up. Out of the top machine hanging over the table, a beam came down and hit Zwayer.
Zwayer was out cold and was motionless.
The dragon inside of the tank started to twitch a lot but stilled after just a couple of seconds.
"The dragon is healthy and his heartbeat is steady, transfer is successful," the voice in the back of the room said.
Night nodded and looked down at Dave, "Make sure you have some food ready for him when he wakes up.
Dave nodded, remembering how hungry Night was.
"When we were checking up on his dragon, it looked like they prefer fruit and vegetables, but they can also eat meat if they have to," Dave explained.
Night nodded, "Also, make sure you get me a few barrels of beer, preferably cold."
Dave gave him a humorous look but nodded, "As long as I can have some too."
