OoooooOOooOoOOooOOoOoO

This was it. This was the lead I needed. Grabbing my keys, I hopped into the car and l sped down town. It was a vulnerable time here in Konoha city. For many years there had been a political shift that caused riots and movements by the public. Naturally, there would be a group that was against it all and committed organized crime in order to prevent any town hall meetings or public discussions to move forward with whatever the figurehead in charge was trying to pull. I thought this would be my big break in the force. There were a string of assassinations at every event so far for the past few months. For some reason, no one has been able to find the killer and only the bullet was left behind as evidence in the victim's body. As a detective, it bothered me like hell that this person was undetectable and unable to track... until now. We were ready this time; we were ready for the surprise riot or the assassination. There were signal jamming stations and thermal cameras all over the area. And when I had finally got the disturbance, I took the chance and went in by myself. The scanner showed a figure twelve blocks away perched on a rooftop. He was observing the scene from what looked to be a scope. He definitely wasn't one of our guys since we were all stationed on the ground for crowd control.

The building was for high class business and trade opportunities. I've stepped into the building many times and even made friendly with the guards. Checking my tracker for the thermal camera, the guy was still there, just watching. Perhaps it could've been a special unit that was deployed without us knowing? It wouldn't be the first time they sprung the special forces out and told us nothing. But, I wanted to be sure. My intuition was telling me to go check it out. In order to prevent panic, I waved to the guards and walked in, making a turn for the elevators. By the looks of it, our little spy was comfortable, and he wasn't moving anywhere any time soon. As the Elevator ascended, I checked my magazine. A full mag with three flash bullets and seven live rounds with one in my chamber. Hopefully, it is a special unit member and I won't have to shoot. Reaching the top floor, I grunted as the elevator dinged. Surely, I was heard by now. I didn't hear any movement, but I thank the building designer for making a small flight of stairs and a door blocking my from the outside where the guy was. Maybe I wasn't heard after all. I leaned up against the door and peeked through the small glass window. Was that…? No, that wasn't a special forces uniform. Gently, I reached for the handle. My chest began pounding and my mind began to calculate a plan. I was by myself, on a rooftop. Twelve blocks away seemed good enough to not arouse suspicion, however the chances of realizing that something could be wrong was inevitable due to my absence. Patting my bullet proof vest under my shirt, I slowly creaked the door open. The sound was enough to alert the man on the roof who quickly turned and pointed a firearm at me. Jumping from the door, I reached for my gun. A high pitched laugh escaped from the man and he charged at me. A fist collided with my face and I staggered backwards, only to bring my arms up and block a high kick.

"So, that's how it's going to be?" I huffed.

Recentering my focus, the spy was wearing a black cloak and a mask. I need to strip him of this attire so I can get a better look at him. Maybe he was on our hit list of people we've been hunting for years. I could get a raise for this… the man had dropped his weapon and cocked his head to the side. A challenge of hand to hand combat? So, be it. It was rather odd to be faced head on like this, but anything to stop whatever he was going to do. I holster my own pistol and got into a fighting stance. Little did he know, I am highly skilled in martial arts. He charged, his movements were smooth, almost dancer like. I've never seen anything like it. His kicks were heavier than his punches, which only meant that this person was well trained in stamina and speed. I kept up easily, however my own fighting focused on upper body strength and power rather than flexibility. I needed to get him off guard…

"I grow tired of this." He mumbled as his shin collided with my side.

There, an opening. I sprung forward and my fist shot upwards under his chin. A gasp escaped his throat as the mask went flying as he hit the floor. Before he could even roll over, I jumped on top on him and held him down.

"Alright, who are you? What are you doing here?" I asked grabbing the cloak.

That's when he spit at me. Now I'm pissed. I ripped the cloak apart. This son of a bitch is going to taste my fist for the rest of the mon… oh my god. My fist froze in mid air as I made eye contact with what I thought to be the man I was fighting. Those round cheeks and blushed lips were bruised. Those eyebrows were neatly groomed and those lashes were long and voluminous. Brown eyes with specks of gold were staring up at me widely. I lowered my fist back down to her shoulders. She wore a black jumpsuit that hugged her curves perfectly and held many belts and bundles and her chocolate hair was twisted into two twin buns. A woman, I finally realized I wasn't breathing. We stayed there for a moment just looking at each other, neither of us making any movements. She was gorgeous even with the bruises I had left on light caramel her face. I don't recall any woman to smitten me the way she just did; to make me stop in my tracks and just go blank.

"You…" I lost my words as I looked at her.

She let out a cough as her cheeks turned a shade of red before pressing herself against me. Before I could register what was going on, her leg came around and I somehow ended up below her, her legs straddled my hips. Holy hell… those thighs and that tiny waist. My hands twitched, twisting the urge to grab her thighs and returns us to the previous position.

"How did you find me?" She asked looking down at me.

She didn't seem scared, nor did she show any signs of escaping. Curiosity was written all over her eyes as she looked me up and down with those doe like eyes. She was used to never being noticed, it seemed. Was she that good of an agent that she slipped within the shadows so easily? After a moment, her eyes met mine again as an indication that she was waiting for an answer.

"Thermal camera within a twenty block radius." I stated after taking a breath.

"Ah, you've stepped up your game this time." She hummed now fully sitting on my lap; clearly not feeling threatened and getting comfortable...not that I'm fully opposed to it (really).

I perched myself up onto my elbows and watched as she looked out toward her scope and firearm. It was a specialized sniping gun that looked to be customized. It was huge, how she was able to wild such a thing was a mystery to me. She noticed me looking and gave a soft chuckle.

"Very observant of you." She purred finally getting off of me. "As you could probably tell, I'm not one of your public security boys."

I stood and strightended myself. Her hips swayed as she walked over to her scope and slightly adjusted it. Her gun was now in her hand and perched over the ledge of the roof. A breeze went by and the smell of flowers and oolong reached my nose.

"You're… a transplant." I hummed. She definitely wasn't from around here.

"Indeed." She replied. "However, not on your team."

What…? The crowd that had gathered for the speech had begun for rile up. But then something clicked. If she was one of ours, she'd be closer and would be using a gun without a silencer to cause an alarm. No, she wasn't one of ours. I've been so mesmerized by her that the red flags in my head has quieted down and I forgot why I was up her for a hot second. Reaching for my own pistol, I walked forward and pressed it to the back of her head. To my surprise, she didn't flinch, nor did she turn around. Instead, she laughed.

"Not even gonna try to let me take a shot? That's not fun." She teases adjusting her scope.

"Drop it, and I'll let you live." I demanded.

That's when she did turn around, my barrel was touching her forehead. She looked up at me with those big eyes and smiled sweetly with those perfect teeth.

"Now, where's the fun in that?"

Before I could even pull the trigger, she had jumped backwards. I froze, my mouth now hanging open at her ballsy move. Shit, what the hell was she thinking? I watched over the edge of the roof as she floated downwards with that smile still on her face. But then she reached her arm out and a grappling wire shot from her wrist. In a swift movement, she landed on the roof of the adjacent building that was quite a drop from this one. She stood there for a moment and winked at me before running off toward the direction of the crowd. There was no way in hell I was letting her off that easily. Holstering my gun, I braced myself and jumped. Reaching the next roof, I rolled and steadied myself before sprinting after her. She was a quick thinker who climbed over vents and antennas as I chased her down, either trying to show off or distract me again. Most of the buildings in this area leveled out, and if I could get a clear shot without her bouncing around, this could be it. She glanced back only once at me and pointed her gun. Without using the scope, she was able to nick my ear. Strands of my hair flew upwards as I moved sideways. She missed, even if her intent wasn't to kill me, she missed. But by the looks of it, she missed on purpose since her laugh reached my ears once more, noticing that I was a little shook that she shot at me. Her boots clanked as she jumped again, this time for a ladder to a higher building. Her gun was strapped onto her back as she climbed; I could attempt to take a shot. Stopping before the ladder, I took out my pistol and aimed. I didn't want to kill her, I needed her for the interrogation. Squeezing the trigger, the bullet was released from my barrel. This caused her to stop mid-step. The bullet made a small indent in the concrete wall right near her upper thigh. I had missed by a few inches.

"How ballsy of you." She exclaimed in an exaggerated tone and continued to climb.

Ugh, fuck. I holstered and started to climb. It wasn't long before she was only a few strides ahead of me taking aim. I glanced over at the crowd; we were roughly five blocks from the podium and the speaker was standing right at it. My gun shot had definitely alerted the others and my radio was going off with my teammates scrambling for visuals. My name was announced over the radio and another chuckle was heard from the woman. This assassin was standing at the very edge of the roof, her sniper rifle racked back and ready to fire.

"Don't even think about it." I yelled.

"Sorry, but I got money to make." She state lamely with her finger still on the trigger.

I reached for my radio and queued in. The roof, five blocks away… cornered a woman with a sniper rifle. I couldn't think clearly, I had to act. Why hasn't she shot yet? Was she waiting for me to stop her? Was this a set up? I glanced over the edge again. No, there were too many guards around the speaker. She was waiting for one to move so she could get a clean shot. She was crouched on the very corner edge of the roof. I could… I could-My feet charged forward and I grabbed her waist. We both fell forward off of the roof. A gasp escaped those plump lips as she twisted around and rested her arm on my shoulder. The next thing I remember is her finger squeezing the trigger, and everyone screaming as a body hit the floor.

I opened my eyes to see the sky. Clouds had become to overcast the city. My left ear was ringing slightly and I tried to sit up. Fuck me... I can't believe I blacked out. This is so unlike me. Grunting, I looked to my left. There she was, her hand to her ear, speaking into her com.

"Yes. It's done." She said. "I'll be there to collect payment shortly."

She paused.

"I have to take care of something first."

Her eyes met mine as she stalked over. I sat up slowly and reached for my gun…. shit. Where was my gun?! As if reading my mind, her hands went to her belt. She held up my pistol and threw it at me. The magazine was there, but it had been emptied. This bitch stole my bullets. Sitting beside me, she yawned.

"What a day," she groaned stretching her arms over her head. "To think I'd face off with Konoha's best detective."

I blinked.

"You… know who I am?" I asked slowly.

"Of course. I had my suspicions since you found me on the roof. Then, your buddy called your name through the radio and it just solidified it." She hummed leaning on the heels of her palms.

Her Oolong and flower sent filled my nose as she leaned in. She was an assassin, she told me: her client was the last person I would ever expect it to be and she wasn't going to go with me to the station. If I took her in, she was sure I'd lose my job, which meant this was an inside job. My eyebrows shot upwards, an inside job by my own department. Hell, she isn't even supposed to be telling me this, but it wasn't everyday she had been caught. That would explain why no one else bothered to check out the figure he found through the thermal camera. Why there was no order to be on the roofs. I let out a sigh.

"But... I'll give you something that I think you've earned, Detective Hyuga." she looked at me playfully. "It's not everyday someone catches me red handed.

"Oh, and what is that?" I frowned.

"My name."

I blinked again. Her name? Surly she knew I was going to search her out again, but why would she give me her name?

"I'm Tenten." she smiled. "Hua Tenten."

Tenten reaches into her jumpsuit and handed me a small card. I flipped it over and read the gold print on the red thick paper. She was a mercenary from a small village a few hours out. she's worked for many governments and associations and her prices were… holy shit. Her lips spread into a grin, probably knowing that I have read up to that part. There was no contact information on the card. An assassin with a business card? How unusual but professional at the same time.

"Why are you giving me this?" I finally asked.

"We're going to run into each other a lot, Detective." She shrugged "Might as well know my name and stuff."

Tenten stood and walked over to the other side of the roof. She picked up a bag and pulled out some clothes. I looked away as she unzipped her jumper and replaced them with civilian clothing of a crop top and leggings. Zipping up the bag, she smiled at me again. She has some giant balls changing into her casual wear in front of me, especially after I witnessed her commit a murder. Well... I didn't actually see it; I heard it. Still counts though.

"Well, have a good day. I'm sure I'll see you again."

Before she could jump from the ledge, I shot up and grabbed her hand. Tenten cocked an eyebrow and looked back at me

"How do I find you?" I rasped.

Her bottom lip was captured between her teeth, thinking perhaps. After a moment, she winked.

"Easily. Just don't try too hard." Was all she said before jumping from the roof.

I watched as she landed safely on the next rooftop with her bag strapped to her back. Tenten shot a smile and another wink at me before jumping down a fire escape and disappearing into a crowd of people. Just like that she was gone. I looked at the card in my hand. I couldn't stop her from committing murder, and yet here I was, letting her go. Why did I believe her when she told me I would lose my job if I brought her in? What inside job was crazy enough to keep it from the rest of its workers. I sighed and brought the card to my nose. It smelled like Oolong and flowers….

This needs a title. I couldn't think of one. Any suggestions? ~POG
