Tails here with chapter 2, I'll be honest I don't know what i'm going to do next, but I loved typing this chapter.
I do not own Fairy Tail or RWBY, Fairy Tail is owned by Hiro Mashima, and RWBY is still up in the air now.
Enjoy.
In the middle of the sea we see a ship, we see 6 people on it, each with the Fairy Tail Guild Mark on them, the one who's at the head of the ship is a man he has beige hair that is chin length and black eyes, beside him is a another guy with short black hair with a prominent hair spike and black eyes, then a fat guy with short black hair reminiscent of a plant stem and black eyes, a slim man with shoulder length orange hair, gathered in a spiky pony-tail and dark eyes, a man with spiky black hair and black eyes, finally is the lone woman of the group, she has back length green hair and brownish purple eyes. They're all looking around the sea. "Are they sure it's in this area?" The green haired woman asks, then they're all shocked seeing a 13 year old girl standing on top of the water, she has very long, pastel yellow, wavy hair that reaches her feet, large green eyes, she's wearing a frilly, pink layered robe with a red ribbon tied in a bow around her neck, around the chest are three blue diamond patterns with two blue triangles above, each series of these is outlined in a hot pink, there are wing-like adornments around her ears and small hoop earrings, and she is barefoot. She raises her hands up and Tenrou Island emerges from the sea, surrounded by a golden sphere, with the Fairy Tail Guild Mark and stylized wings on it.
"Tenrou Island!" The 6 of them yell, and the girl walks towards the island, and they follow onto the island, when they get to the Emergency Camp, and find everyone scattered around and slowly waking up. "You're all alive!" They yell, after about 20 minutes everyone is awake.
"So, who is this?" The fat guy asks, as they all look at Ruby, as everyone is slightly cowering, because Ruby is glaring at the sky, while surrounded by an absolutely murderous aura.
"Oh, Droy, this is Ruby Rose, she is Tenrou Island's Caretaker. Ruby…" Makarov explains, then he goes to talk to Ruby, but is shocked when the girl from before appears, and hugs Ruby from behind.
"Please, calm down Mom, I know you're angry about what Acnologia did, but you can't let every little thing get to you." The girl says, and surprising everyone but Makarov, Ruby actually calms down.
"You used Fairy Sphere, didn't you Squirt?" Ruby asks, and the girl giggles.
"Yep." The girl says.
"Squirt, considering how everyone else is looking at you, I think you need to introduce yourself, I taught you manners after all." Ruby says, surprising them.
"Yeah, only Makarov knows who I am, after all. My name is Mavis Vermillion, the First Guild Master of Fairy Tail." The now introduced Mavis says, shocking everyone. "When Acnologia attacked, I used each one of your magic, and quite a bit of Ruby's to cast Fairy Tail's third Great spell, Fairy Sphere, a protective spell that is an absolute defense." She explains.
"The only problem with it, is anything within Fairy Sphere is trapped in a suspended state of stasis, that lasts 7 years." Ruby finishes, shocking them even more. "Now get going, I'm tired of all you people being on my Island." She orders, very annoyed.
"No, Ruby, I want you to go with them, the Guild hasn't been doing too good since all of them disappeared, the Guild needs you right now." Mavis says, shocking Ruby.
"No, they don't need someone like me; it's safer if I stay here." Ruby says, shocking some like Laxus, Freed, Levy, Lucy, Mira, Gildarts and Makarov, who hear an undertone of self-hate in her voice, Mavis then snaps her fingers, and a barrier appears around the 2 of them. "A silencing barrier?" She mutters, and Mavis nods.
"Ruby, I know you stay on this Island, because you think there's something inherently wrong with you, and to hide from your past, you claim to be at peace with, but you're not, you wouldn't hide away from the world if you were. Right now, I need you to be a part of the Guild you helped create, you need to help them get through what's to come." Mavis says, confusing Ruby. "I only felt it once when Fairy Tail was in Crocus, someone is messing with the Eclipse Gate." She says, shocking Ruby.
"Who in their right mind would mess with that gate?!" Ruby yells.
"Someone who doesn't know what they're messing with, plus aren't you interested in training that girl, Wendy." Mavis says, and Ruby stares off into the distance for a second, and Mavis lets the barrier down, and after a minute.
"Fine." Ruby says, and she walks towards the ship, along with everyone else, when the ship starts moving, she grabs Cana and Gildarts, and takes them down to the inside of the ship, she comes back up, really annoyed. "Acting like such a bratty little girl over something so stupid." She mutters sitting beside Lucy, who's eyes widen.
"Do you know, Cana's…" Lucy goes to ask.
"How could I not, I knew as soon as I saw her." Ruby says, and Lucy glares at her.
"Then how can you be so heartless about it?!" Lucy whispers.
"Oh boo-hoo, she came to this Guild looking for her father, only to be too much of a coward to say anything when she met him, she's lucky to have even met him." Ruby says, pissing Lucy off. "Some people go their entire lives not knowing anything about their parents." She says, bitterly, shocking Lucy and destroying any anger she had, Ruby then notices Natsu on the floor, and she snorts, and taps the railing of the ship, and it glows, surprising everyone.
"Ruby, what'd you just do?" Makarov asks.
"Just wait." She says, and after a few seconds, Natsu shoots up, surprising everyone, but Ruby.
"What happened, I don't feel sick anymore?" Natsu questions, which shocks everyone, and they look at Ruby, who's looking off into the sea, completely uninterested in all of them, until Laxus sits beside her.
"Hey, what's Laxus even doing here, anyway?" The green haired girl asks.
"Makarov, there nearly died 7 years ago, when he fought Hades, Laxus felt it, and came running. Speaking of that, Makarov, I want you to reinstate Laxus, he's learned his lesson, I mean he came to the island to check on you, knowing how I am." Ruby says, surprising everyone.
"I'll think about it, but it also depends on who the fourth Guild Master is, who has been leading the Guild, Alzack?" Makarov asks.
"Macao." The guy with spiky black hair says, surprising the group that were stuck on Tenrou.
"Really, I dread meeting the rest of you, if you thought that weakling was the best choice for Master in Makarovs place, he couldn't even beat Ivan Dreyar, who was absolutely pathetic, back when he and Gildarts took the S-Class Trials themselves." Ruby says, looking out at the ocean, but a lot of them get angry at her, but are shocked when Makarov and Laxus hold their arms out and shake their heads. "Mavis." She says, and Mavis appears beside her.
"What?" Mavis asks.
"You've been keeping an eye on the Guild while we were in stasis, right?" Ruby asks, and Mavis nods. "If the Guild is doing so badly that you begged me to interfere, why haven't Zera or Warrod interfered?" She asks, Mavis and Makarov's eyes widen.
"Who are Warrod and Zera?" The guy with orange hair asks.
"Zera is my adopted sister, her and Warrod are also both founders of Fairy Tail, and are still alive." Mavis explains.
"In particular, Warrod is one of the so-called Four Gods of Ishgar." Ruby says, surprising everyone, except for Makarov and Mavis. "And if Zera keeps up with her training, she should still be even stronger than him. Oh I'm going to have a talk with them, when I get the chance." She mutters, we next see the group as they're walking through a forest on the outskirts of a city. "Magnolia, huh, I still can't believe Mavis chose this city." She mumbles, apprehensively.
"What was that, Ruby?" Gildarts asks.
"Nothing you need to concern yourself with." She says, after another few minutes they walk up to a ramshackle building, the double doors are open, and they see 5 people, one of them is holding a club up to hit a 14 year old boy with messy, dark purple hair and dark eyes. Ruby snaps her fingers, and the 5 guys glow with purple outlines, and slammed into the ground.
"Who do you think you are to attack our family!" Makarov yells, as everyone in the building, gasps seeing all of them.
"You're all alive!" The boy yells.
"You haven't aged a day?!" The two oldest guys yell, they both have a receding hairline one with dark blue hair and dark eyes, the others brown, and everyone rushes out and surrounds the group.
"What happened, you guys haven't aged a day!?" A girl asks, she has long, wavy violet hair and brown eyes.
"Well, I'm not entirely sure where to start…" Makarov goes to say, when they all hear pained screams, they look and see Ruby glaring at the guys, as they're still surrounded by a purple glow, and are being crushed into the floor, as it's starting to crater under them. "Ruby, don't kill them." He says.
"Oh I'm not going to kill them, just crush every single one of their bones, and crush every non-vital organ." Ruby says, and the older guy with dark blue hair falls on his ass.
"Master, what is she doing here, off Tenrou?!" He asks, terrified, shocking everyone.
"Macao, have you met Ruby?" Erza asks.
"He has, alongside Ivan and I, when the 3 of us took our S-Class trials, that made me S-Class. If I remember, he's pretty well traumatized from whatever she did to him, I can only imagine, after all, you all saw what she did to Grimoire Heart, when they invaded." Gildarts says, and those who were on Tenrou, shiver.
"Ruby, stop, they're not worth it." Mavis says, appearing, Ruby sighs after a few seconds, and the purple glow disappears, but then they glow white and are launched back into the town, everyone looks and then notices how damaged the Guild is, the one who's lived through the last 7 years, just looks depressed.
"How annoying." Ruby mutters, waving her hand and the building glows blue, and after the glow goes away, the building is practically new. "There, now stop crying." She says, already annoyed, and walking inside.
"That was Arc of Time, the same Magic Ultear used!" Gray yells.
"Considering that everyone is fine, shouldn't you guys be having a party, like you normally would?" Mavis asks, and everyone jolts.
"The girls right, who is she by the way, and that girl?" A Native American looking man asks.
"They are Mavis Vermillion and Ruby Rose, Mavis is our first Guild Master, and Ruby is her adopted mother, and one our Guilds Founders, as well as the Caretaker of Tenrou." Makarov explains, surprising everyone, a few hours later the Guild is partying, but we see an annoyed Ruby in the corner, when she looks in a direction.
"So that seal is still up." Ruby mumbles, surprised, and leaves the Guild, not caring that Makarov, Gildarts and Wendy follow after her, curious, after 15 minutes, they are at what looks like a mountain, Makarov and Gildarts walk up to her, while Wendy hangs back.
"The Illusion mountain, one of Fiore's greatest mysteries, this mountain is just an illusion, though a solid one, but no one's been able to break it in a hundred years, since it was discovered." Makarov explains.
"I'm not surprised, I made it after-all." She says, snapping her fingers, and with a loud crack, hundreds of runes appear and shatter, causing the mountain to fade away, revealing a small castle-like structure, the stone is covered in moss, the wood they can see is rotted, but also a faded yellow there's also a Guild Flag that is covered in holes, but they see a faded dragon insignia on it.
"Is this a Guild-Hall?" Wendy asks, as the 3 follow Ruby into the building.
"Yeah." Ruby mutters, as they walk into and through a lunch hall.
"I've never seen that Guild Mark before." Gildarts says.
"Of course you haven't, this Guild has been destroyed for 300 years. Welcome to the Raging Dragon's Guildhall." Ruby says, sounding Somber, and they notice her shoulders are slumped, and after an hour of exploring the 3 find Ruby back at the entrance, even more Somber looking than before.
"Ruby, what's your connection to this Guild, that you'd hide it away?" Makarov asks, and Ruby snaps her fingers, and all the runes reappear, as the mountain illusion comes back.
"It's my greatest shame, and the Guild that my Sister led." Ruby says, walking away, shocking the 3. 2 weeks later, we find Ruby and Wendy in the woods with Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Carla and Happy, with Wendy starting to tear up.
"Hey Wendy what's the matter, did Porlyusica scare you?" Gray asks.
"What, that old bat, scared Wendy!" Natsu yells, angry.
"No, it's her smell…" Wendy says, and the only ones not confused are Natsu and Ruby.
"What does she smell like to you?" Natsu and Ruby ask at the same time.
"She smells and sounds like… Grandeeney." She says, starting to tear up more.
"Your Dragon Parent, I assume?" Ruby asks, and Wendy nods.
"My Momma." Wendy says.
"Do you want to talk to her?" Ruby asks, and Wendy nods. "After-all, I know Porlyusica is not a Dragon, she is from Edolas, after all." She says, surprising them.
"What, Porlyusica is from Edolas?!" Lucy yells.
"Yes, as I told Wendy on Tenrou, I've been to Edolas, when I got back to Earthland, Porlyusica got caught in the portal, I took her to Fairy Tail back then." Ruby says, taking Wendy back to a large tree that is obviously being used as a house. "Porlyusica, will you not talk to me?" Ruby asks and the door opens showing a wide-eyed old woman with pink hair and red eyes.
"R-Ruby, I didn't expect to see you, I thought you never left Tenrou." Porlyusica says.
"Mavis asked me to help the Guild, now, Wendy here needs to talk to you, Given I have an idea what the answer is." Ruby says.
"Alright then, speak little one." Porlyusica says.
"Well, it's just, you sound and smell like my Momma Grandeeney." Wendy says, looking down.
"That was your Dragon Parent, correct?" Porlyusica asks, and Wendy nods. "I'm not sure if Ruby told you, I'm completely human and from Edolas." She says.
"Ruby did tell us that." Wendy says.
"I'm the Edolas Counterpart of the Sky Dragon Grandeeney, and many years ago your mother contacted me, magically speaking to me…" Porlyusica, reaches into her robe, pulling out a stack of papers, strung together by two bits of rope. "...these are instructions on two Dragon Slayer Secret arts she didn't have time to teach you, Milky Way and Shattering Light : Sky Drill." She says, handing Wendy the book.
"Th-thank you, Miss Porlyusica!" Wendy yells, and Porlyusica smiles, closing the door.
"I… I wouldn't mind helping you with those." Ruby says, apprehensively, which surprises Wendy a little.
(Ever since we've come to Magnolia, she's acted differently compared to when we were on the island.) Wendy thinks, but nods, they meet up with the others, and head back to the Guild, where they walk into an argument between Macao and the purple haired kid, Wendy feels a tap on her shoulder, and looks, seeing Ruby.
"Would you like to start on those spells right now?" Ruby asks, and Wendy nods enthusiastically, and they leave the Guild. "If you want some honesty, I am interested in training you, as Zwei told you, I see tons of untapped potential in you, but I don't think you can reach it with whatever the Guild has planned, it's the main reason I'm offering. It's not really my thing to teach people, the last time I really trained anyone was Mavis and Zera, while I did teach Laxus a few things, he learned of and came to me, and I stopped once I saw the Darkness growing in him." Ruby explains, and Wendy is surprised Ruby actually wants to train her, and goes to say something but is interrupted. "But there is a caveat, if you accept training from me, we will not be near Magnolia or anyone for that matter, I'll take you back to Tenrou." She says, surprising Wendy.
"I-I can tell you prefer to be on Tenrou, I'm not the most observant, but I've noticed you've been acting differently, you've seemed well… apprehensive." Wendy says, and Ruby is silent.
"I'm over 300 years old, and I wasn't always who you see in front of you, so there are some things I did in the past that I'm not proud of, it's why I prefer being on Tenrou." Ruby says, then sighs. "And Mavis is right; I've been hiding from my past for a long time." She says, but is then surprised.
"I want you to train me, I want to get stronger, I'm tired of being weak and fragile." Wendy says, but Ruby chuckles at that, surprising Wendy.
"You're a Dragon Slayer, You're a lot tougher than you think you are…" Ruby says, but pauses, then sighs. "...It is something I know from experience." She says, surprising Wendy.
"Have you met other Dragon Slayers?" Wendy asks, Ruby looks at her in thought, but Wendy sees a vast amount of pain appear in her eyes.
"No, until now, I've never met another Dragon Slayer." Ruby says, as her pupils slit, her canines sharpen and she looks into the sky, takes a deep breath and holds her hand out, as a blue magic circle appears with a dragon head in the center, and magic swirls into it, shocking Wendy. "Roar of the Dragon Queen." Ruby says, releasing a massive blue beam from the Magic Circle.
"You're a Dragon Slayer!?" Wendy asks, surprised. "That Roar was just like…" She says.
"Yes, one of the founders of Fairy Tail was trained by the Black Dragon of the Apocalypse, Acnologia." Ruby says, shocking Wendy.
"That kind of explains why you were so angry when Acnologia showed up. But I'm going to guess that's something you don't want to talk about." Wendy says, and Ruby nods at that. (But what happened between her and Acnologia, for her to hate her fost…, wait that's me assuming she even had the same relationship with Acnologia that Gajeel, Natsu and I had with Metalicana, Igneel and Grandeeney.) She thinks.
"Well, if you really want to train with me, meet me in this clearing later." Ruby says, and walks back to the Guild. Wendy turns around to head back to the Guild when she sees Mavis standing there smiling.
"Oh, hello First Master!" Wendy squeaks.
"Hello Wendy, and just call me Mavis, but I did see Ruby's offer, would you like my opinion?" Mavis asks.
"Oh, uh, yes Master Mavis." Wendy says, and Mavis giggles.
"Well, Ruby wasn't lying, she doesn't offer to teach often, or ever, really, the only time she ever has offered to teach and train, was Zera and I, and we are pretty much her adopted daughters. She did teach Laxus for a little while, but that was kind of needed, after Laxus's father, Ivan, implanted a Dragon Lacrima into Laxus, Makarov thought that Ruby would be the only one, that could teach him, which he knew was selfish of him, but at least Ruby knew it was to protect Laxus." Mavis says.
"What do you mean selfish?" Wendy asks, confused, and Mavis sighs.
"Of all the Magics Ruby knows, her Dragon Slayer Magic, is something she's ashamed of, I won't tell you why, it has to do with her past, wholly and truly, what you just saw was the first time she's used her Dragon Slayer Magic, in 300 years. It's both a show of trust, and showing she's completely willing to give everything she has to train you, I mean, while Zera and I both know of her Dragon Slayer Magic, she never actually showed us it, what she just did was the first time I've ever seen her Dragon Slayer Magic. So I think you should accept, and don't worry about telling the others, I'll tell them tomorrow." Mavis says, and Wendy nods, later Ruby returns to the clearing and sees Wendy meditating as the air in the cleaning is swirling around, while Mavis is watching over her.
"So you started her off with this." Ruby says, getting both of their attention.
"Oh yeah, I thought between her, Natsu and Gajeel, she'd be the only one able to do this method. I'm pretty sure her Magic's increased quite a bit." Mavis says, smiling.
"Are we ready?" Wendy asks, excited.
"Yeah, but now a few things have changed. Makarov decided that the Guild is going to participate in some competition held nowadays, called the Grand Magic Games, so now the time to train you is, well, I'd say limited, but this is actually to our benefit. But this is your last chance to leave, once I start training, you will be put through a Hell like you've never seen, I will not go easy on you, just because you're young, it's actually the reason I won't be holding back." Ruby says and Wendy gulps, afraid, but takes a deep breath, and looks at Ruby with determination, making her smirk.
"Yes, I'd prefer you not to go easy on me; I want to get as strong as possible." Wendy says determined.
"Good, Mavis, I expect the rest of the Guild to have questions, tell them whatever you have to, to make sure they leave us alone, even if you have to reveal me being a Dragon Slayer trained by Acnologia or give them a Summary of my past." Ruby say's and with a red glow, the 2 disappear, Mavis is now standing there with a somber smile. The next morning Erza, Lucy, Natsu, Gray, Levy, Jet, Droy, Happy and Carla come running into the Guild.
"Whoa, whoa, where's the fire guys?" Makarov asks.
"Master, you haven't seen Wendy, have you?" Carla asks.
"No, can't say I have, why?" He asks.
"I haven't seen her since we went and saw Porlyusica yesterday, and we've gone all over Magnolia and can't find her!" Lucy yells, shocking everyone.
"WHAT!" everyone in the Guild yells.
"You don't think it was Twilight Ogre, do you?" Macao asks.
"If it was, then they'll see what really happens, when you piss off Fairy Tail!" Mirajane says, having taken on a demonic form.
"Calm down everyone." They all hear Mavis at the entrance. "Before any of you, go and incite a Guild War, I know where Wendy is at the moment." She says, surprising everyone.
"Where?!" Carla yells.
"She's on Tenrou Island, training with Ruby." Mavis says, shocking everyone, especially Makarov and Laxus.
"Can we trust Wendy with her?" Natsu asks, worried, and many notice it's the most worried they've ever heard him, then Mavis sighs.
"You all who were on Tenrou when Grimoire Heart Invaded, I can understand the reservations you might have, considering how you've been taught, in terms of killing, but that is something that's only been in the guild since Makarov took over, who had a horrible fight with a Dark Mage many decades ago. But believe it or not even I've killed before, and Ruby grew through a time, when Magic was feared in some places, and Mages had do what was needed to survive, and with everything that, I know, Ruby's been through, it's sad she can kill so easily, but that's the type of life she's had to live through." She explains. "But there's no one in the world better equipped to train Wendy." She says.
"But what if she's too hard on Wendy?" Erza asks, and Mavis sighs.
"I will not lie, Ruby will push Wendy to the brink of her limits, every day that their training, that is her way, but it is also what Wendy asked of her. Wendy told Ruby, she wants to get as strong as possible." Mavis says, shocking everyone. "So with that, none of you have any right to interfere, because then you'd be going directly against Wendy's wishes. But I also know, Makarov and Laxus are the only one of you really knows a thing about Ruby, so I know it's hard for the rest you to trust her, especially with how she's acted since she's been here, but that's just how she is, she's lived a long and tough life, it's made her extremely guarded. But there's an amazing person inside of her, I'd know, she raised Zera and I. And let me tell you this, Ruby is single handedly responsible for the Creation of this Guild, If it wasn't for her, Zera and I probably would've died as children, and Precht, Warrod and Yuri never would have left Sylph Labyrinth. And most of all, the policies you all love, the ones that make this Guild like a family, were put in place by Ruby." She explains, shocking everyone, even Makarov, didn't know the familial policies were created by Ruby.
"If Wendy wanted to get stronger, why'd she go to Ruby? Wendy barely knows her, why not Mirajane or I?" Erza asks.
"Because she didn't, Ruby offered to train her, which is something Ruby doesn't do. Ruby has only ever taught 3 people, Zera and I, her adopted Daughters, and Laxus, which Makarov had to beg her to do. Though she did take an interest in the possibility of training Gildarts, at one point, but figured he was doing well enough on his own." Mavis says, shocking everyone.
"Are you saying Wendy has the potential to surpass Gildarts?!" Makarov yells, surprising everyone.
"Honestly, I never was the best with things, like people's potentials, but since Ruby took an interest in Wendy despite her age, Wendy's potential must be immense." She says.
"That's amazing!" Natsu says, astonished.
"Master Mavis, could you tell us what Magics she knows? On Tenrou, we saw her use so many, and when we got back here, she used Arc of Time, which is a Lost Magic, and wouldn't Natsu or Gajeel be a better choice to train Wendy." Gray asks, at that point both Mavis and Makarov chuckle.
"Makarov, how about you tell him?" She asks, and everyone puts their attention on him.
"Alright all of you brat's, listen up! Gray you ask what Magics Ruby knows, a better question is, is there a Magic in this world she doesn't know of." Makarov says, shocking them. "Ruby is a font of Magical knowledge, beyond anyone I've ever met or anything I've ever seen." He says, but Mavis knows the next thing is really going to blow their minds, as she nods when Makarov looks at her. "And about Natsu and Gajeel, they're both amazing with their Dragon Slayer Magic, the truth is Ruby is also a Dragon Slayer, but one trained 300 years ago, when Dragons were still around, but that's where she gets very complicated." He says, which shocks everyone to the core.
"One of our founders… is a Dragon Slayer." Lucy says, shocked.
"Master, what do you mean about her being a Dragon Slayer, is where she gets complicated?" Mirajane asks.
"As if the woman could get even more complicated." Macao mutters.
"Ruby is a Dragon Slayer… trained by Acnologia." Mavis picks up the explanation at that point, and everything in the Guild goes silent, everyone's eyes widen, except Makarov.
"WHAT!" Everyone yells.
"That monster trained someone!?" Erza yells.
"Can we really trust her then?" Gray asks.
(She's a Dragon Slayer, why couldn't I smell it?) Natsu and Gajeel think.
"Silence you brats!" Makarov yells, shocking them, because they hear the anger in his voice. "I'll be honest, I do not know Ruby's past, nor what led to her being trained by Acnologia, is that disconcerting, yes, but I trust Mavis's judgment. Ruby has never shown herself to be a threat to the Guild, yes it's likely 7 years ago Acnologia came to Tenrou, because of Ruby, but it's certain he was looking for her. But the one thing, I can tell all of you for certain, Ruby is not like Natsu, Gajeel or Wendy, Ruby loathes Acnologia… with every fiber of her being." He explains, shocking everyone, especially Natsu and Gajeel.
"But, why, did she not have the same relationship with him that the 3 of us did with our Dragon Parents, as Foster Parents?" Natsu asks, and Mavis sighs, sitting on the bar.
"That's something even I don't know, maybe at one point she did, but it's definitely not the case now, I mean until she revealed her Dragon Slayer Magic to Wendy, she's absolutely refused to ever use her Dragon Slayer Magic again, and hasn't used it in 300 years, it really shows how much she loathes Acnologia." Mavis says, shocking everyone, again, especially Natsu and Gajeel.
"So that's why we couldn't smell that she was a Dragon Slayer." Gajeel says.
"Before you all leave, Ruby has permitted me to tell you all about her past, not detailed, just a quick summary, but be warned even the summary of her past is horrible to recount." She says and they all look at her attentively, especially Makarov, she sighs and collects her thoughts. "Ruby was born, well now, 326 years ago in the Year X465… right here in Magnolia, with her sister Yang, they were orphans, they were both extremely talented with magic, but Ruby was always on another level, she was a prodigy. The 2 were doing what is now considered Guild jobs to make a living, and had been doing so since Ruby was 8 and Yang was 10, when Ruby was 13, her and Yang were on a job, but…, that's when everything went to hell, they were in a pretty dangerous forest, that back in that day S-Class monsters tended to wander into, for reasons unknown to Ruby, Yang attacked her and left her for dead." She says, shocking everyone.
"What, that's horrible!" Mira gasps, holding her hand up to her mouth, in horror, similarly to Elfman and Lisanna, and the rest of the Guild, they're all horrified, but Makarov, Natsu, Erza and Gray are also enraged.
"Of course she didn't die that day, when she next awoke, she was being watched over by Acnologia, its how they met, and how Acnologia came to train Ruby…" Mavis says, she pauses and sighs, the Guild is shocked. "...And Ruby was angry, no it's better to say she was far beyond furious, and wanted revenge, and it's why she asked Acnologia to train her, you see Acnologia had made a name for himself even back then, but it was far different than what it is now. Acnologia actually was seen as a sort of savior back then, he went around killing off Dragons that attacked humans, and Ruby blossomed under Acnologia's tutelage. But Acnologia still wasn't a Saint, and Ruby soon became, what we now call, a Dark Mage." She says, which really shocks the Guild.
"She became a Dark Mage!" Macao yells.
"Yes, and one you all probably know the moniker, the Cataclysm Witch." She says, shocking everyone.
"What, Ruby's the Cataclysm Witch, the Dark Mage said to have wreaked havoc across Fiore 300 years ago, and killed 10 different armies of the Magic Council, and is the only Dark Mage considered to be worse than the Black Wizard Zeref!" Wakaba yells, shocking all of the younger generation.
"Yes, that is all true, to think people still remember her moniker, even though that Ruby was only around for 6 years. Ruby was trained by Acnologia and known as a Dark Mage, from the age of 13 to 19, when she got her Revenge, and went after Yang, and her Guild the Raging Dragon Guild, and one of the first Guilds, to ever exist, it was a terrible and horrible fight, Ruby spared no one, by the end of the fight Ruby was standing over Yang's lifeless corpse" She says, horrifying everyone. "But, standing there over her sister her hate and rage dissipated, Ruby felt nothing, no satisfaction, no solace, not even sadness, it's right then I think she started to hate Acnologia, and as history says the Cataclysm Witch just vanished, that is Ruby's story, and the very reason Ruby implemented the familial policies in the Guild, to prevent anyone from ever going through what she did, or becoming what she had, our Guild is built on the pain and mistakes of a broken girl." Mavis finishes her tale, and sees the whole Guild is shocked beyond belief, but many are tearing up.
"To think, the love of our Guild was created by such pain." Makarov mutters.
"It definitely gives our Guild new meaning." Gray says, looking down somber, and everyone just looks down at that.
(And that's why she said that the Raging Dragon Guild was her biggest shame.) Makarov thinks.
[Tenrou Island]
Ruby and Wendy are standing in a clearing. "Alright first order of business is to see where you are it in your training, but first, two things, while you were asleep last night I used a mix if Magic, to create a barrier around the Island, I won't go into the specifics, since it's beyond your comprehension, at this time, I'll just say it as it is, a month outside the barrier is a year within, so in these 3 months, for the Grand Magic Game, you'll get 3 years of training. And lastly, there's something you and I need to address." Ruby says, placing her hand on Wendy's head, and their visions go white, when everything comes back to sight, Wendy's eyes widen, there now in a beautiful forest clearing covered in many different flowers, off to the right is a crystal clear lake, and waterfall, off to the left, are many large trees, but none of that is why Wendy's eyes are wide, and now tearing up.
"Mo-Momma!" Wendy trembles, looking at a very different type of Dragon, one that is covered in what looks like white feathers, has bird-like feet, the head is rather broad and flat and covered in what looks like white fur, with kind, blue eyes.
"Hello Wendy, you've grown." Grandeeney says, kindly.
