'Dear Diary,

It has been three days since my life has changed so drastically. It certainly makes each day a little interesting. Waking up inside a truck cab, instead of my own bed is something I am still getting used to. But I have honestly found that sleeping g while a truck is moving gently through the city makes for quite a nice sleep. That has come as a surprise to me, but I certainly am not complaining. The more I sleep, the faster I heal.

My ankle to healing rather well. It is not hurting like it did, but I still can't walk on it. So I am getting better at making use of the crutches. Not that I have a choice. Cooking while on crutches has been a challenge, so I've stuck on sandwiches for the last few days. I am not interested in eating much, so I only have a single sandwich each day. I know it isn't healthy, but I honestly have no motivation at this time.

As for Mirage, he has been my rock so far. Despite him being very different from me, Mirage has been such a nice and supportive person. I actually feel comfortable talking to him about a lot of things already. He keeps a lot from his leader, though I do think Optimus is aware of a lot of those thoughts. He is not the kind of person who you can get things past, as he is extremely aware of his surroundings.

But unfortunately, Optimus has not warmed up to me yet. He hasn't been cruel, but he is not nice either. He does seem to respect that my injuries require help, so he allows the other autobots to help me. While he still scares me, I can't help but wish to know more of his story. His past, his reason to be on this planet intrigues me. If he trusted me, I am sure he would tell me. But I don't know if I am even building that trust just yet.'

It was currently Wednesday, and Saphira had just finished writing another entry into her diary. She has enjoyed writing in it, as it provided a lot of relief that she has been needing. The stress and trauma she has felt from the incident on the weekend really needed a positive outlet. And this has been one of the only things she has found to help. She has also been sketching and painting a lot too. She has yet to make any kind of effort to inform her landlord that she would not be renewing her contract for the apartment as she still had time to do that.

She sighed as she closed the diary, rubbing her face gently and stretching her arms with a light yawn. It was still early in the morning, and Saphira had decided that she would be returning to work today. She felt she had enough time off the moment, even though going back to face Claudia was very frightening to her. She has yet to hear from the police, so she did not know if the investigation was taking longer than it should or not.

She sat up and grabbed her brush out of her bag, squinting slightly from the sun in her eyes. She was still in the freightliner currently, and Optimus was on his way to the wharf where the autobots had been gathering each night for Saphira to climb into the cab. They knew this wouldn't always be the case as when she is healed, Optimus could pick her up somewhere else, and she would be fine with that.

"Good morning, Optimus," Saphira said gently, yawning again as she was having a hard time waking. "I see you haven't found Transit yet. Were you able find clues? Or was your night very easy under the stars?" Optimus did not respond to her. Saphira had tried to make light conversation with Optimus each morning over the last three days. She did not know if he liked it when she acknowledged him in the morning, but he never says anything to her. "Well…in case you wanted to know, I am going to go back to my work today. I feel like I'm ready to face it, even though nothing has been done about the woman who was involved with my assault. At least, as far as I know…anyway, you should know in case you wonder why the tracking signal is leaving to a different part of the city."

Still nothing. Saphira did not take it personally, she guessed he simply just did not respond because of his views on humans. Saphira couldn't really blame him for his distrust though. She herself has been through a lot, and she knows first hand what it feels like to not trust the very people you believed would protect you. And Saphira only trusted Arthur and Nicholas at this time, but she still had a weary trust in a way. Things could change, and she knew it.

Even though Optimus has not said anything to her, Saphira was certain he appreciates the heads up. The last thing she needed was to hear him yelling at her to demand to know where she is going. She did learn that the key she had for Mirage was indeed a communication device, and it tracked her too. She had considered leaving it at the apartment, but she didn't want to either. The bots did watch her apartment during the day. Well…just Optimus. Arcee and Bumblebee were out daily looking for this Transit, so they were not spying her. Mirage was only at the apartment because he is her car, essentially.

Saphira felt happier now that she managed to tidy her hair before Optimus reached the wharf. She would not have to worry about it too much, but she will need to do a little more when she got back to her apartment so she looked professional when she returned to work. She had no idea how things would even go once she went back today. She figured it would be awkward, mostly. And if Arthur had informed everyone on where she was currently, she expected a lot of sympathy and pity. Though she honestly did not want it.

"Well, at least it is a nice start to the day. A golden sunrise is always a good one. I enjoy looking at the clouds as they look like the sun has painted them in color." Still no response from him. Saphira just shrugged before she began to move herself carefully to the passenger seat. She grimaced as her rib and ankle ached, but she managed to move herself and grabbed the seatbelt to put on. "Since we have a few minutes until we get to the wharf, surely we could try and talk, Optimus." Still no word. Saphira still did not try to take it personally, knowing that Optimus likely would not want to talk to her. "I will admit, I much prefer cloudy, rainy days. They bring a sense of comfort that sunny days don't bring. The sun might shine through the clouds, but the rain washes away the dust and allows for something new to happen. That's the way I see it."

Still not response. It was a little awkward as Saphira was essentially talking to herself. She wanted to try for some more small talk, bit she decided that it was maybe best to not say anything more. She accepted that Optimus really only felt the need to watch her. But she did wish that he would respond to her. She wanted to try and break the ice somehow. She has already managed to do that with Bumblebee. The previous day was the first day she and Bumblebee properly interacted.

When Mirage brought Saphira to the wharf, Bumblebee had decided to speak with her. While he couldn't talk to her normally without the radio, he was actually very nice. He told Saphira that he liked her, and that he did not believe all humans were evil. She was happy he said that, and he had actually even made her laugh when he told her that he would gladly sting anyone who tried to bother her. Of course, that did not include Optimus. But Bumblebee was very nice, and he mentioned he met a kind human once before as well.

Optimus finally reached the wharf and she smiled as she would be able to get home to freshen up for the day. She looked at the water as Optimus drove between the cargo containers before looking at the dash. "It is definitely a nice say today. I know you don't want to talk to me, but I hope we can find some kind of middle ground, Optimus. I feel like that you misunderstand me, and believe that I am going to betray you. Personally…I don't want to do that."

"I have yet to see any reason for you to prove that fact, human," Optimus finally responded, and that made Saphira flinch in surprise. But she was happy he finally spoke to her. "However, I do appreciate the respect you have been showing me. It is only day four, so I do not expect this to last. Words are words, actions are much louder."

Saphira could not agree more. "I know. I've been at the wrong end of actions…and even consequences…even at birth." She bit her lower lip as she pondered on what else to say. "I know I sound strange, but…my life hasn't been great."

"From what I can see, your life is fine." She wasn't going to argue since her life did look good on the outside. "You might have been attacked, but you have a place of residence and a job that seems to be good for you. We have no home to go back to. So don't tell me your life is not good, human."

Saphira sighed a little as she knew that Optimus was seeing this world through different eyes, and his tone had pain as he spoke to her. She guessed the way he saw humans was simply through pain, and it was possible given what Mirage had told her. "You don't really know me, Optimus. I do not doubt that losing an entire world…I have no idea what that feels like…but I do know what it is like to lose a home. Or, never feel like I've had a home…my apartment is currently the only place I've felt safe. Until now, anyway. Surprisingly, this cab is the second place that I feel safe."

Optimus was silent for a moment before he let out a low growl. "You feel safe with me? Don't be ridiculous, human. I am not sure what is going through your head, but that seems rather strange to me. Especially since you know I can crush a human easily." Saphira knew that, but she still felt safe with him. "As for your history, I do not yet have an interest in learning it, human. Your past is your past, just as my past is mine. I do appreciate that you have not asked questions, but I do not know if you have asked Mirage questions."

She shook her head. "He won't disobey you on that one, Optimus. And I think that is okay. I don't want to know if you don't want to tell me. It is unreasonable for me to know something that I shouldn't. If I somehow manage to get trust from you, I guess you might tell me. But I don't expect it."

Optimus listened to the girl and her response surprised him. He expected her to ask him questions about what he is, and where they come from. He knew that Mirage had already told her they were aliens to this world, but he was not sure if other things had been. But this girl claims she does not want to know until they were ready. He was not sure how much of that to trust, but it did intrigue him that she responded that way. And it made him think that maybe she could be trustworthy. But it has only been a few days, so Optimus was not going to relent yet.

Saphira could tell that Optimus was processing what she had said, and she was happy with that. "Anyway…I am not sure how today is going to go. So if something changes, I will let you know. Though I will most likely end up back in my apartment."

"Have you sorted out your apartment yet?" Optimus asked bluntly as he approached the warehouse. "I hope you have started to at least gather your things in preparation to leave."

She was a little surprised by his sudden question, but decided it was best to not react badly to it. "Well…my lease for the apartment ends in a couple weeks. So that will give me time to pack what I own, as the furniture in that apartment is not mine. I would leave earlier, but it's easier on my ankle to have somewhere comfortable to stay during the day. So you won't need to wait too long, Optimus. Two weeks is the time frame that I can give you."

"Very well." Optimus was too happy with the time frame that she had given him, but he also understands that Saphira needed somewhere to heal. It will make life easier for all of them when her ankle heals. "I see Mirage is as punctual as ever."

Saphira smiled as she saw Mirage waiting in the warehouse with Arcee and Bumblebee. "Good. I highly doubt you would enjoy waiting for him each day if he decided to be late." Optimus did not have to reply, as she knew he would dislike that very much. She too would not like it. Once Optimus came to a stop, she grabbed her bag and crutches while he opened the door. "Morning, Mirage!" The bot transformed and walked over to Optimus with a smile. "How was your night?"

Mirage shrugged as he waited for Saphira to turn her body to face him. "Meh, looking for a needle in a haystack is so much fun. I haven't detected a single signal of a decepticon. I am almost thinking that Arcee and Bumblebee might have been mistaken. Or Transit has flown the coop."

"A decepticon like Transit is not the type to just flee from danger, Mirage," Optimus warned the bot as he reached out to Saphira to help her down to the ground. "Transit may not be Megatron, but he is far from weak and helpless. You would be wise to not be as relaxed as you seem to be."

Mirage rolled his optics with a light chuckle. "Maybe that is true from the past, but that could be different now. Transit could be hiding like a little bitch in the city, or even outside the city." The bot shrugged with another light chuckle as Optimus growled in response. "It is not likely that decepticon will give out whether or not his ship is here either."

Saphira listened and she could not help but think that if Transit had a ship here, he could leave if he wanted to. Why would he still be here if he had a way to leave Earth? Saphira did not want to ask that, as home seemed like a sensitive subject. "I can see you guys want to talk about your issue, but I do think that you should leave it for another day. I need to get home. So I think it would be best to pipe down about Transit."

"I agree with Saphira," Arcee spoke gently. She was parked nearby, and she was listening quietly. "I was not able to get a trail. But I am going to start checking the major public bus transport businesses. I know we have been searching through the city itself, but we need to check the businesses for any possible decepticon signal."

"Sounds like a plan." Mirage transformed into the Porsche and opened the door for her. "Let's get going, Saphira. The morning is still young, but it is getting away from us. I don't want you to be late for your first day back at work."

Saphira smiled as she hobbled over to the car and lowered herself onto the seat before placing the crutches on the passenger seat. "Thank you, Mirage." She stretched up her arms and sighed deeply. "I'm all good now, Mirage. Take me home." Mirage closed the door as the engine started and he began to drive away. "Not sure if you care, but I finally managed to get Optimus to speak to me this morning."

Mirage gasped loudly in excitement upon hearing that. "Really? He finally decided to respond to you?" She nodded. "Now this I gotta hear. How did you manage to get Optimus to respond to you? I think he's been rude for ignoring you, simply because you are human."

Saphira chuckled softly. "To be honest, I did not do anything special. I simply told him that I feel like he misunderstands me, and he responded to that. So that was certainly something for me to be proud of."

"Hmm…interesting…I know Optimus isn't made of stone, so I am glad he has finally decided to speak with you. You are a joy to speak to! Bumblebee knows it, and Arcee is a little too loyal to Optimus, but…yeah, you are a joy to speak to." Mirage was beaming now that he knew that Optimus was already speaking to her, it meant his spark was starting to soften. "But e patient. Maybe if we find Transit, he will be kinder."

"Hopefully…I just hope he is not setting himself up for disappointment." Saphira knew that Mirage would want to know what she meant, but she honestly did not want to say at this time. "Now that I am going to go back to work, I might get the chance to see if I can spot Transit."

"As Optimus said, you aren't going to be going out of your way to find him," Mirage warned the girl gently. "I honestly think that it is very brave of you to even want to help. But you need to understand one thing. We were at war on our planet, and Transit won't show you mercy. In fact, he might exploit the fact you know of us to use as his advantage. So please bear that in mind."

Saphira didn't argue about that. She was not sure what she would expect from this Transit, but she would heed Mirage's word. He knew the decepticon more than her. She didn't even know a thing about the decepticons at all, other than the name of one. And apparently, a decepticon called Megatron was worse. Saphira wished she knew more about the autobots, but it did all depend on Optimus in letting her know more. Mirage had just let another piece of information go, but it still was only a small piece at least.

"I know, and I will be aware of it. Though I would be surprised if Transit already knew I was associated with you. If you have not found him, he has not yet found you either." Saphira did still want to keep an eye out. She would be taking the bus to work, after all. And she would be check the brand badges of each bus she sees. "I'll still be on the lookout for anything different with any trucks or buses."

"And that is all you should do. And I hope you won't do anything stupid to alert the decepticon either." Mirage knew that the girl was smart, so he doubted she would do anything stupid. "Let's stop talking about this. Do you think that you will get a nice, welcoming party when you go back to work?" She smirked and shook her head. "Why not? I think you deserve it."

"Whether or not I deserve such a welcome, does not mean I will get it. Besides, I think that is unnecessary. A lot of people in the office, aside from Claudia, do think I get special treatment from Arthur. And I really don't need anything else to be added to make people think that. I just want to be treated normally." Saphira did know that as she had not told Arthur she would be coming today, it would be a surprise for everyone. So she certainly would not get a welcome back party. "I want to focus on my work. It will help take my mind off things."

Mirage liked the how the young girl was. She was mature, and did not expect anything from her work colleagues. He hasn't observed every human in the world, but he has his own opinions about young humans from his observations. "You are very mature for your age, Saphira. If I did not know any better, I would think you were in your late twenties, not nineteen."

She shrugged with a smirk, not thinking much of it at all. "Well…I have a lot of…experiences where I have had to grow up and abandon my childhood." She looked out the window and sighed deeply. "But I appreciate that you like that I am mature for my age, Mirage. I don't look for gold in this world, I just want to survive. And I just want to…be wanted somewhere and matter."

Those were specific words that Mirage was interested in learning more about. But he knew that if he wanted to learn about her past, he would need to get the permission from Optimus to tell Saphira more about them. It was something Mirage really, really wanted to talk to Saphira about. He wanted to tell her about Cybertron and the war, and why Prime was feeling the way he is. He already touched a little bit on it, but he did not go into deep detail.

Mirage did not know what else to say to her, as Saphira did not seem as though she wanted to discuss anything else at this time. So he drove through the city to return to the apartment complex. Mirage did wonder if the managers of the apartment building was aware that Saphira was leaving it during the last few nights. They may not, but he did worry that might draw some unwanted attention from humans. But that would remain to be seen at this time.

Once they arrived at the apartment complex, Saphira thanked Mirage for bringing to the building safely and she made her way to her apartment to make breakfast and get herself ready for work. She was nervous about returning to work. She had no idea how the day was going to. But she knew she had work to do in preparing to make the company desirable by international companies, so she was really looking forward to that. But that was not what she was worried about.

She could not help but wonder if Claudia has said anything about what has happened. She could have told her own version of the story to make Saphira look bad, which was likely the most possible thing that Claudia would have done at this time. Saphira was not looking forward to hearing sneers from her co-workers. But if Arthur has set things straight, maybe it would not be so bad. Though she would need to get there to find out, as nervous as she was.

She finished getting herself ready and made her way to the usual bus stop to make her way to the office. She was going to be early in the office today, and she was very happy about that. She normally would get a coffee, but given she couldn't really hold a cup very well, she decided to skip on the caffeine for the morning. She felt rested enough to get through the day anyway, so it really was not a big deal. So she went straight to the office to get herself started.

Though as she entered into the lobby, several of the staff who were already there seemed surprised to see her. A few of them even gave her dirty looks, as though she was covered in garbage or worse. It immediately made her feel uneasy, and confused, so she ignored them for the moment. She hobbled over to the elevator to head up to her floor. She was looking forward to going over the work from her team, and ensuring that they were doing a good job. She knew they would be, but it was her job to review the work.

Once she reached her floor, there were a few other employees here. And they were also surprised, and one of them also gave her a dirty expression. Something was wrong. This was not the reception she had expected. And that only made her even more nervous, and confused. She had to find out what was going on. She hoped to speak with Arthur, as she knew that he would be able to clear up what exactly is going on.

For now, she made her way to her office. She opened the door and froze as she saw that her office looked different. She frowned and hobbled into the office to look around, and she realized a lot of her things she had her in the office has been removed. Including her name placard that used to sit on the table. Now it was empty. Everything was empty, and even the computer was turned off, instead of being left in sleep mode.

What the hell is going on?

Saphira was extremely confused, so she turned to leave the office to head back to the elevator to head up to Arthur's floor. She desperately needed an explanation, and she did not know if she was even going to like the answer from him. Especially as more employees arrive, even one member of her team, seem to actively avoid her, and give her dirty expressions. It made her extremely uncomfortable, so she stood in an elevator on her own and waited impatiently for it to reach the right floor.

Once the doors open, she saw Lara was at her desk, so Saphira hobbled over to her quickly. The woman looked up from her desk and frowned slightly upon seeing her. "Oh, it's you, Saphira." Saphira froze upon hearing the short, blunt sentence from Lara. "I am surprised you actually came back."

"Wait, what?" Saphira frowned and shook her head in confusion. "I…I am confused. I have only been away for a few days, I sent Arthur a medical certificate from the hospital. I am not sure…I am confused. Lara, what is going on?"

Lara took a deep breath and tapped her fingers on the desk before grabbing her phone. "I am not able to answer that." Saphira swallowed nervously as she waited for Lara. She knew the secretary was calling Arthur. "Hi, Arthur…yeah, I know, but Saphira is here. And she's acting all confused…oh…okay, I'll send her in and make her wait for you." Lara put the phone down and stood up from her chair before walking over to the office doors. "Arthur is on his way. His chauffeur is dropping him off right now. Please…" Lara opened the doors and gestured to the office lounge chairs sitting in front of the desk. "Take a seat and wait for his arrival. He will explain what is going on." Saphira nodded and hobbled into the office. "You should be ashamed of yourself."

Saphira stopped and looked at Lara, deepening her frown as fear began to grow in her. "I…I don't understand…" Lara gestured angrily at the chairs and Saphira swallowed nervously. "Alright, alright…you have more important things to do, so I will not hold you up."

Lara said nothing, but she watched Saphira hobble over to one of the lounges and lowered herself to sit on it. Saphira was very nervous at the moment, and things began to feel as though they were starting to close in around her. Her heart was racing very quickly, and she felt a sense of déjà vu. Her biological parents did this to her once, and she had to run from them because of that reason. She doubted this would be the same, but she was starting to feel terrified.

She held her hands together tightly, scratching the back of her hands until she had raw scratch marks that were on the verge of bleeding. Everything was very wrong. This is not how it was only a few days ago. Something has happened, and she had no idea. She did not know if this meant that the police have visited, because she would have thought Arthur would have contacted her about it. If that did not happen, something else did.

It felt like hours before the doors finally opened, and Saphira looked up with wide, terrified eyes as Arthur walked in. He seemed to be tired as he was holding a coffee in his hands. However, he lacked the warmth in his brown eyes she had become accustomed to. There was only coldness, and Saphira felt herself shrinking with fear. He said nothing, not even a smile as walked over to the lounge opposite Saphira. She wanted to say something, but her throat was tight, and it was as if no words could get out.

He slowly sat down on the chair and took a sip from his coffee. Even the warm smell of the coffee made Saphira's stomach twist uncomfortably. She waited for him to say something. She did not know why this was happening, but Saphira could not help but feel as though she suddenly did not know him. Arthur once saved her life, but this…this might very well just undo all of that, and Saphira did not know what was going to happen.

Arthur took a deep breath before he sighed deeply. He placed the coffee onto the table in front of him before he looked at Saphira, softening the coldness on his expression as he saw the visible injures on her body. And the terrified expression he remembers seeing once before. "We need to have a talk, Saphira."
